▼ This study concerns people who live in a street situation, a historic social phenomenon that has been gaining visibility due to the alarming growth in the number of people in absolute misery, living in the streets and squares of cities, with their basic rights violated and without access to public services to which they have a right. I present a theoretical review about this phenomenon which originates from social inequality, generated by the exploitation of the working classes in the capitalist system, representing one of the most tragic manifestations of the social question. These are men and women who live in a situation of extreme poverty, without work and regular housing, who inhabit public spaces, streets and squares of the city, surviving as beggers or by conducting informal services, such as looking after parked cars, collecting recyclable materials and similar activities. This study examines the trajectory of the construction of a national policy for inclusion of people living in a street situation, particularly in Brazil, and specifically in
Pelotas. A study was conducted in this municipality with the
users of the Specialized Reference Center for Social Assistance for the Street Population (
CREAS-
pop), to trace the characterization of these subjects and analyze the implementation of the service, according to the manifestations of the participants in the study. To conduct the study, scientific research was conducted with a qualitative approach, within a dialectical-critical focus, which included a study of documents, observation and a focus group to respond to the following key question: what is the meaning of the implantation of the
CREAS POP Pelotas to meet the needs and expectations of its
users? The data collection to characterize the profile of
users allowed, in addition to the preparation of reference statistics, unveiling the reality of a population group, which - despite lifes adversities and the difficulties of a system that denies them their most essential rights - continue to dream of better days, with a complete life, and hope that the service will help improve their reality. It found that the work undertaken by
CREAS POP Pelotas is participating in efforts to implement a national policy for people in a street situation, which still functions in a very limited manner. The institution is involved in the construction of a model of care for these people, to guarantee their rights, particularly the right to access social policies. The statements of the
users include visceral expressions of the anguish of people who survive in inhuman conditions amid the daily life of the city, and coexist with others, living exposed to the elements, with hunger, without income, abandoned, suffering all kinds of violence, while basically invisible to society. pop-out (
PoP) refers to the facilitation in performance that occurs when a target-defining feature is repeated across consecutive trials in a
pop-out singleton search task. While the underlying mechanism of
PoP has been at the center of debate, a recent finding (Lee, Mozer, & Vecera, 2009) has suggested that
PoP relies on the change of feature gain modulation, essentially eliminating the role of memory representation as an explanation for the underlying mechanism of
PoP. The current study aimed to test this proposition to determine whether
PoP is truly independent of guidance based on visual working memory (VWM) by adopting a dual-task paradigm composed of a variety of both
pop-out search and VWM tasks. First, Experiment 1 tested whether the type of information represented in VWM mattered in the interaction between
PoP and the VWM task. Experiment 1A aimed to replicate the previous finding, adopting a design almost identical to that of Lee et al., including a VWM task to memorize non-spatial features. Experiment 1B tested a different type of VWM task involving remembering spatial locations instead of non-spatial colors. As a result, only spatial VWM load interfered with
PoP, supporting the notion that VWM is involved with
PoP. Based on the results from Experiment 1, Experiment 2 observed the magnitude of
PoP, with manipulation of the number of items to be remembered in the VWM task. With spatial VWM load, the amount of
PoP decreased with the increase of memory load. This result indicates that the concurrent spatial VWM task truly interfered with the occurrence of
PoP. Experiment 3 examined whether a VWM task still affects
PoP when a strong bottom-up guidance is present, and target ambiguity (Meeter & Olivers, 2006) decreases. Consistent with previous findings, the increase of set size resulted in a decrease of
PoP, indicating that there was a strong bottom-up guidance based on the salience of target. Nonetheless, the dual-task interference from the spatial VWM task was consistently observed. The result suggests that the contribution of VWM to
PoP is robust, regardless of the presence of other types of guidance. Lastly, Experiment 4 directly investigated which component of a spatial VWM task interacts with
PoP. To address this question, Experiment 4 observed the interaction between
PoP and the VWM task with and without an inter-trial repetition of the target-related positions. Based on the finding that the repetition of position also elicited inter-trial priming (Maljkovic & Nakayama, 1996), Experiment 4 tested whether the repetition of the relative position of the target affected the effect of a spatial VWM load on
PoP. As a result, while
PoP interfered with a VWM load, position-based priming appeared to be independent of the VWM load as well as
PoP. Such results indicate that spatial VWM exclusively contributes to
PoP by swiftly deploying attention to the location of a task-relevant feature held in memory. In sum, across four experiments,

Esta dissertaÃÃo procura investigar como se dà o fazer de psicÃlogos(as) inseridos(as) no Centro de ReferÃncia Especializado de AssistÃncia Social (CREAS) de um municÃpio da RegiÃo Metropolitana de Fortaleza (RMF) â CearÃ, a partir da percepÃÃo dos mesmos sobre seu trabalho. Para tanto, considera-se como referencial teÃrico, alÃm dos diversos documentos oficiais que versam sobre as polÃticas pÃblicas de AssistÃncia Social e outros que ofereÃam parÃmetros para o trabalho do(a) psicÃlogo(a) no CREAS, os estudos sobre a ClÃnica da Atividade, sem ser excluÃda a colaboraÃÃo de outras clÃnicas do trabalho como a PsicodinÃmica do Trabalho, e tambÃm do conhecimento da Ergonomia. As investigaÃÃes realizadas objetivaram analisar os documentos oficiais e/ou nÃo oficiais atà entÃo existentes e que orientam a atuaÃÃo do(a) psicÃlogo(a) no campo das polÃticas de AssistÃncia Social, mais especificamente no CREAS, e conhecer as aÃÃes desenvolvidas
pelos(as) psicÃlogos(as) no exercÃcio de suas atividades de trabalho, mediante o favorecimento de um processo de interpretaÃÃo dos(as) mesmos(as) sobre seu fazer e a repercussÃo de seu trabalho no contexto do CREAS onde exercem suas atividades. Ã adotado, para a pesquisa, dispositivo metodolÃgico de investigaÃÃo das situaÃÃes de trabalho baseado na anÃlise do contexto de trabalho a partir de uma aproximaÃÃo dos recursos da autoconfrontaÃÃo simples e do mÃtodo de instruÃÃes ao sÃsia. A utilizaÃÃo desses recursos, que teve como base o levantamento de observaÃÃes e de entrevistas realizadas com os(as) psicÃlogos(as) envolvidos no Ãcrea do municÃpio analisado, foi a forma vislumbrada para dar conta da realidade do local de trabalho escolhido e de seus(suas) profissionais. Ã possÃvel perceber as diversas dimensÃes que envolvem a atividade desses(as) profissionais, e constata-se que o coletivo de psicÃlogos(as) inseridos no especÃfico CREAS encontra-se fragmentado em funÃÃo da dificuldade
do compartilhamento de experiÃncias e de instrumentos. No entanto, estes sujeitos ainda encontram, nas atividades que realizam, espaÃos de criaÃÃo, de construÃÃo de sentido e de alcance de prazer. Este estudo tem como mÃrito iniciar um processo de reflexÃo teÃrica e produÃÃo de informaÃÃo empÃrica que busca contribuir para uma melhor compreensÃo do papel do(a) psicÃlogo(a) no CREAS, gerando consideraÃÃes que norteiam o amadurecimento das discussÃes sobre a atuaÃÃo desse profissional num espaÃo relativamente novo para as aÃÃes da Psicologia. Espera-se que, a partir daqui, diretrizes mais firmes para o fazer do(a) psicÃlogo(a) nesta instituiÃÃo possam surgir, de modo a direcionar as atividades dos profissionais, sua seleÃÃo, a avaliaÃÃo de suas aÃÃes e a elaboraÃÃo de capacitaÃÃes mais condizentes com a realidade de trabalho. ▼ O trabalho é um estudo sobre processos cênicos que partiram de obras da cultura pop, ocorridos entre os anos de 2016 a 2017 na cidade de São Paulo, nos quais o autor da pesquisa esteve presente. O intuito foi o de pensar pedagogicamente o uso de histórias em quadrinhos, videoclipes e canções como materiais de criação cênica com jovens e adolescentes. O desenvolvimento e observação destes processos, somado à pesquisa de teóricos que se debruçaram sobre os temas cultura pop e indústria cultural (como Teixeira Coelho, Douglas Kellner, Umberto Eco, entre outros) trouxeram à tona reflexões sobre o conceito de pop, sua apropriação de temas atuais - principalmente os que dizem respeito a movimentos sociais - e a sua presença dentro de um público jovem. Essas reflexões são aqui chamadas de \"diálogos\", nos quais a busca de uma relação com a cultura pop não passa por um olhar pejorativo ou maniqueísta. A trajetória trouxe como frutos, entre novas
reflexões, a criação de dois espetáculos: - Tebaida(2017), uma transposição da linguagem dos quadrinhos para a cena , oriunda de um processo sob minha orientação, ocorrido no Programa Vocacional da Prefeitura de São Paulo; - PLAYLIST 43:04 (2018), uma coreografia de dança contemporânea, ganhadora do 22º. Festival da Cultura Inglesa, sobre a influência da cultura pop no cotidiano dos jovens urbanos.
This paper is a study of scenic processes which came about from projects of pop culture that took place between 2016 and 2017 in the city of São Paulo, in which the researcher was a participant. The intention was to think pedagogically about the use of comics, video clips and pop songs as materials for scenic creation with young people and adolescents. The development and observation of these processes, together with the research of theorists who dealt with the themes of pop culture and cultural industry (such as Teixeira Coelho, Douglas Kellner, Umberto Eco, among others) brought to
the fore reflections on the concept of pop, current issues - especially those concerning social movements - and their presence within a young audience. These reflections in this paper will be referred to as \"dialogues\", in which the search for a relationship with pop culture does not pass through a pejorative or Manichean point of view. The trajectory brought as fruits, among new reflections, the creation of two plays: - Tebaida (2017), a transposition of the language of comics to the scene, coming from a process with my guidance, wich took place in Programa Vocacional of the City of São Paulo; - PLAYLIST 43:04 (2018), a contemporary dance choreography, winner of the 22nd. Cultura Inglesa Festival, on the influence of pop culture on the daily life of urban youth.

Esta Dissertação de Mestrado tem como objetivo investigar quais os motivos que levaram o Instituto Histórico e Geográfico de Pelotas – IHGPEL - a se constituir como um lugar de memória para a cidade de Pelotas, de acordo com a concepção desenvolvida por Nora. O IHGPEL foi criado em 1982 e é uma instituição privada sem fins lucrativos que teve desde a sua fundação a intenção de recolher, arquivar e divulgar a história da cidade de Pelotas e da Região Sul do Rio Grande do Sul. Neste trabalho utilizou-se como metodologia de pesquisa a análise documental e a história oral. Na análise documental foram observadas as atas de reuniões de diretoria, o livro de termo de posse e o livro de visitas, as Revistas do IHGPEL, os
Cadernos do IHGPEL, os Cadernos de Pelotas série IHGPEL e os livros Atas da Câmara Municipal de Pelotas. No que diz respeito à história oral, foram entrevistados cinco sócios da instituição. Para poder compreender melhor a criação do IHGPEL, foi necessário investigar o estabelecimento do Instituto Histórico e Geográfico Brasileiro – IHGB - e do Instituto Histórico e Geográfico do Rio Grande do Sul – IHGRGS -. Para entender como se deu a constituição do IHGPEL como um lugar de memória da cidade foi necessário pesquisar sua trajetória, identificando as diretorias ao longo de seu funcionamento, bem como os diferentes sócios e não-sócios envolvidos na constituição do acervo, na organização de eventos e na publicação de variados materiais. Dessa maneira, pode-se perceber que para além do trabalho dos associados, os apoiadores da instituição têm um papel importante, pois é através de seu auxílio que estagiários são contratados, possibilitando o funcionamento da instituição. The present study is part of the Stricto Sensu Post-Graduation Program in Psychology of the Pontifical Catholic University of Goiás (PUC Goiás), in the line of research Social, Work and Organizations Psychology. It aims to know the work of Specialized Protection Service for Families and Individuals (PAEFI), trying to seize the used methodologies, as the meanings experienced by these professionals to the performed psychosocial care. In this context, this research was developed, seeking to provoke reflections, expressions, coproduction of meanings in
relation to this theme. Therefore, it is based on the socio-historical conception formulated by Vygotsky. It counted on the participation of nine professionals of the area, distributed in the five units of CREAS. Based on the perspective of Socio-historical Psychology, the present study sought to understand the specificity of the phenomenon through the technique of "data triangulation" (MINAYO, 2007). Bibliographical, documentary and empirical research was used as methodological support for the apprehension of the investigated object. The collection of information was initially carried out through the literature available in sources such as: scientific database sites - Portal CAPES, Scielo and BVS; Books, theses, dissertations and periodicals available in print and / or digital format. The documentary research was done through the collection of material, in the Municipal Department of Social Assistance (SEMAS) of the municipality of Goiânia. For the accomplishment of the empirical
research, it was worth of two techniques: the simple observation that occurred after the acceptance of the participants; and the semi-structured interview. The systematization of the material collected in this phase was made based on the methodological conception of Nuclei of Meaning (AGUIAR; OZELLA, 2013), composed of three basic steps: pre-indicators, indicators, and core of meaning. The process of analysis is based on the construction of nuclei, in which the constitutive mediations of the subjects were searched, according to their way of thinking, feeling and acting. It was verified that in several aspects of the psychosocial care offered by CREAS / PAEFI, there are numerous challenges for the professionals involved, such as: lack of capacity building for expected performance, lack of physical structure for most units, lack of diverse resources, lack of specialized materials and disarticulation of the city's child care and protection network. Esta pesquisa tem como objeto de estudo a Proteção Social Especial de media Complexidade na fronteira e como objetivo geral apreender as particularidades da Proteção Social Especial de Media complexidade a partir dos CREAS na fronteira de Foz do Iguaçu/PR. A metodologia adotada foi a pesquisa de campo com uso de roteiro de questões que foi aplicado junto aos profissionais trabalhadores do SUAS que atuam nos CREAS na fronteira de Foz do Iguaçu/PR. ▼ Introduction: The World Health Organization (WHO) has declared hookah smoking to be a significant public health problem. According to Martinasek et al. the increase in the number of hookah smokers is due to lack of education and public awareness, there is a general impression that hookah is a safe alternative to cigarettes. (Martinasek et al., 2011). On the other hand, hookah is affordable and has appealing flavor. The US Food and Drug Administration does not regulate hookah and there is a lack of regulation in packet labeling (Martinasek et al., 2011). Hookah smoking and cigarette smoking produces the exact same toxic chemicals and carcinogens (Martinasek et al., 2011). The US Environmental Protection Agency claims that hookah smoking releases secondhand smoke which contains cancer causing agents (Martinasek et al., 2011). Overall, hookah smoking is increasing rapidly among youth due to social acceptance, low cost, appealing flavors, lack of regulatory policies and incorrect harm perception. Therefore, I propose a study that will aim to answer the following research questions:
1) What are the socio-demographic characteristics of middle school and high school students who have awareness of hookah?
2) What are the characteristics of middle school and high school students who report hookah is less harmful than cigarettes?
3) Does awareness of hookah, harm perception of hookah, ever user and current user of hookah differ by living with hookah
users?
4) How does harm perception of hookah correlate with use of hookah among US youth?
I hypothesize that American youth who perceive hookah as less harmful than cigarettes will more likely be
users of hookah as compared to youth who perceive these products are more harmful.
Methods: The secondary data analysis was conducted using the data from the 2013 National Youth Tobacco Survey (NYTS). The study population was middle and high school students. The independent variables of interest were students who were current
users of hookah, had ever used hookah, as well as those aware of hookah smoking. The dependent variable was harm perception of hookah smoking. A weighting factor was adjusted in the survey to get a weighted proportion of students in each grade to match with the national population. The prevalence of current and ever
users of hookah, as well as those aware of hookah among middle school and high school students, was examined. The frequency of high school and middle school students who are living with hookah
users, and those who were not evaluated. The association of harm perception of hookah among current and ever
users, as well as those aware of hookah smoking adjusted by those who are living with hookah
users was assessed. Data was analyzed in SAS 9.3 to examine the association between the independent and dependent variables. Frequency, logistic regression and a chi-square tests were used to find the odds ratio and p-value between the dependent and independent variables.

▼ The Belle Époque was a period of political, economical, social and cultural changes. It begins in France by the end of the 19th century, informed by the ideals of the French Revolution. Change, progress and freedom were the central themes on a search after civility, in a modernity-discourse. Alterations in values and usages of the European bourgeoisie were quickly assimilated in Brazil, most if all in Rio de Janeiro. The southern town of Pelotas had straight ties to the imperial court in Rio for political and economical seasons and to Europe because of the frequent travels by the high class to the old continent. For this reason it ended up absorbing such values. Due to this circumstance a reformulation of the urban space took place modifying the way of life of a part of the population. This process can be traced in the print media of those times. It is for this reason and because of a considerable socio-cultural effervescence that this work aims to analyze the Pelotas way of life and its visibility through the local press. These were ideas of progress and civilization disclosed through the press and based on the Belle Époque. The object of the analysis is the magazine Illustração Pelotense, published between 1919 and 1925. This choice was made because of the range of coverage of the magazine which shows how much the readers were interested in it. Though the focus lies on Illustração Pelotense, an exploratory study was carried out on the local print media from the middle of the 19th century aiming to understand the transformation process of the town, which included the press. A world-view enounced through signs of an other one, in a euphoric period, in a discourse of modernity, in changes of societies` way of life. The press was the instrument that enlightened the town. As theoretical and methodological basis we used the theory of discursive semiotics, from the regimes of visibility of Eric Landowski (1992, 2002) and Ana Claudia de Oliveira (1997). The Belle Époque of Pelotas shows a quick assimilation of new elements in a town with roots in the countryside. In that period Pelotas transformed itself, adapting to the European style that was absorbed in Brazil. The town changed, the press changed. The main goal of this study is to recover the memories of the ancient Procession of Our Lady of Navigators which happens in the Port region in the city of Pelotas. Likewise, it seeks to elucidate how it was taken toforgetfulness. The Navigators Feast occurred in Pelotas for the first time in 1932, at the Port Neighborhood, organized by the Main Church Sacred Heart of Jesus,known as Port Church. The religious event involved land and water processionsthrough the main streets of the port neighborhood and through both São Gonçalo Channel and Pelotas Arroyo, respectively. For nearly four decades, the Navigators Feast occurred annually, with participation by clerical, civil and military authorities, thousands of faithful, religious
associations, sponsors, musical bands, cultural attractions, food vendors and fireworks, among others. In the 1970s, the Procession moved to the Fishermen's Colony Z-3, about 25 km from the center of Pelotas.The displacement of the Image of the Saint from the Port district represented (especially for the devotees) the loss, the forgetfulness. The main methodological approachused to substantiate the memories of the old Navigators Feast was the oral history, with witnesses devotees of the Santa, old residents in the neighborhood, who used to participate in the Procession. Were also consulted primary sources, such as the First Tumble Book of the Port Parish (1912), as well as journals from 1932 to 1972. This study is contextualized by the history of the Port s Church and also by Pelotas Archdiocese, place of origin of devotion to Navigators, and the emergence of the Navigators Feast in town, idealized by Monsignor Luiz Gonzaga Chierichetti. It was possible to verify a unit in context of
ethnic religious group involved in the feast. The devotees respondents share their memories about the Feast and feel sorry for its forgetfulness. According to the research, the procession is directly related to life, to work, to sociability and the territory of Port s district. na podstawie wybranych tekstów
niemieckojęzycznej literatury
pop z lat 1990-2009.
Przed przystąpieniem do analizy tekstów
prymarnych, została podjęta próba precyzyjnego
zdefiniowania pojęcia kultury popularnej/popkultury
oraz przemocy. W części teoretycznej omówione
zostały główne narracje o fenomenach przemocy i kultury popularnej. Szczegółowa analiza
wybranych powieści nurtu literatury
pop, jak
również towarzysząca analizie wnikliwa lektura
tekstów tworzących narrację wokół fenomenów
przemocy i kultury popularnej/popkultury pozwala
na sformułowanie charakterystyki specyficznego,
pop-estetycznego przedstawienia przemocy. Jako
pop-przemoc można określić każde przedstawienie
przemocy, którego estetyka, tzn. sposób, w jaki
przemoc postrzegana jest przez instancję
pośredniczącą w jej przedstawieniu (np. narratora),
może budzić w odbiorcy równocześnie uczucia
obrzydzenia, zdziwienia, konsternacji jak i
przyjemności, zadowolenia, czy zachwytu.
Estetyka jest w tym miejscu rozumiana bardziej
jako sposób postrzegania, niż postrzeganie w
konkretnym kontekście kategorii piękna czy
wzniosłości. Inaczej rzecz ujmując,
pop-przemoc
jest rozładowaniem dyskursywnego, tzn.
wynikającego z nagromadzenia dyskursów i
nadmiaru znaków kulturowych, napięcia za
pomocą fenomenów poza-dyskursywnych bądź
aluzji do nich.

▼ Pelvic organ prolapse (
POP) is characterized by the descent of pelvic organs (uterus, bladder, and bowels) from their normal anatomical positions into the vaginal space due to defects in the pelvic floor support system. Obesity may influence
POP but findings from studies are not always consistent. A systematic-review of the literature was undertaken here and a meta-analysis was conducted to evidence that being over-weight and obese increased odds of having
POP, compared with women with normal-weight. Literature suggests
POP is heritable, and is likely influenced by a host of predisposing and modifiable factors; however this notion of interaction has not been formally assessed. Considering childbirth is the strongest risk factor and obesity, the most-practicably modifiable risk factor for
POP, analyses were undertaken to identify whether single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) in/around 96 candidate genes modify the associations between parity and
POP and body mass index (BMI) and
POP in European American, African American and Hispanic women from the Women’s Health Initiative Hormone Therapy (WHI-HT) trial. Although signals were not statistically significant considering multiple-comparisons, SNPs from several potential gene regions were noted to interact with BMI (<i>COL11A1</i>, <i>CADM2</i>, <i>ELN</i>, <i>ACTN3</i>, <i>NRXN3</i>, <i>FTO</i>, and <i>TMEM160</i>) and with parity (<i>CADM2</i>, <i>ETV5</i>, and <i>ITPR2</i>) to influence
POP. Epidemiologic evidence also suggests racial disparity in
POP prevalence; however, whether continental genetic ancestry plays a part has not been examined. An admixture mapping study of
POP was undertaken in African American women from the WHI-HT. One chromosomal region (15:q262) showed a statistically significant inverse association with European ancestry, while another (1:q42.1-42.3) showed a suggestive positive association with European ancestry in relation to
POP. This work demonstrates the multifactorial etiology of
POP and the need to further investigate the mechanisms of how these factors interrelate to manifest
POP.

The purpose of this study is to understand the constitution of the Pelotas (RS)’ port space delimited and comprised between the current Clube Náutico Gaúcho and the Clube Natação e Regatas Pelotense and which concerns to chronological period from 1876 to 1940 as of archaeology, in other words, investigating its port goods and linked to its dynamic. We envision the prospect that the port of the 1870 began to fit into the logic of a modernized, industrialized, capitalist port. To carry out this study we based on extensive and historical archaeology. Thus, we use different information supports from different chronological periods, such as: primary documents, cartographic and iconographic material to conduct research and data collection. In addition, we conducted interviews and used data from informal conversations to compose our framework of data and interpretive perspectives.
Moreover, we conducted an archaeological survey of surface, in the area under study, which allowed us to reach new information and port elements to think about the constitution of the port that we look at. With regard to these assets, which continue to our day, we will approach Domingos Rodrigues Square, a wharf of vessel of Clube Natação e Regatas Pelotense and Silveira Martins tugboat of detained manner. In order to analyze the port goods of different times, we select and employ concepts and interpretative perspectives linked to Archaeology of Ports, Archaeology of Aquatic Environments and Archaeology of Capitalism. We also adhere to the precepts of post- processual Archaeology, one of which is a commitment to the past, the present and the future, so we have, though not extensively, covered a discussion of the port assets of the port of Pelotas of the present. The results from the study leads us to think that the port of Pelotas began to modernize relatively early, in the context
of the time, compared to other national ports, and that it accompanied, in some respects, the development of other national and international ports. Moreover, the results show us which areas have archaeological potential and point us to the need for patrimonial legislation that encompasses and ensures legal protection for port goods also from the industrial period and looks at the waters and their floating goods or reappropriated.

This dissertation analyzes the elements of coercion and propaganda employed in education in the Estado Novo (1937-1945), especially in Pelotas - Rio Grande do Sul. The work examines how the policy of the dictatorship of Vargas manifested in education, which promoted the mechanisms massive participation of the school population in civic ceremonies, as well as adherence to the rules of society. The Vargas government, through its educational policy, sought to instill in Brazilian society, the cult leader, civic and patriotic values, forging a national identity. Are studied as the Civic Celebrations (Week Fatherland) and practices of physical education were employed in this process and how they were merged in the making of the New State
pedagogical project, elements of the proposed Catholic teaching and the secular. It assessed the role of institutions in the school organization and monitoring of the community where they were inserted and how the state has co-opted families in the development of nationalization campaign. Perceived as a liberal discourse was linked to the practice in the joint dictatorship of accession and approval to the scheme. A Universidade Federal de Pelotas foi criada em 1969 a partir da reunião de escolas de ensino superior
existentes na cidade, assim, afirma-se que suas origens remontam o período Imperial quando foi criado o primeiro curso que até os dias de hoje integra a instituição. Com mais de cento e vinte anos de história, essa instituição transpôs um período no qual a administração pública brasileira assumiu arranjos patrimonialista, burocrático, gerencial e conheceu experiências da gestão social até assumir a feição da administração pública tupiniquim. O objetivo dessa pesquisa foi analisar como se configura a atuação da administração da UFPel. O estudo se caracteriza como descritivo-interpretativo e utilizou fontes bibliográficas, documentais e de campo, esses últimos obtidos a partir de entrevistas semiestruturadas realizadas com gestores da universidade. Como resultado, verificou-se que a administração dessa instituição apresenta características do patrimonialismo, da burocracia, do gerencialismo e da gestão social, concluindo-se que a sua caracterização se configura na administração pública
tupiniquim. Por último, apresentou-se uma proposta de intervenção com vistas de colaborar com o desenvolvimento da administração dessa universidade.
The Federal University of Pelotas was created in 1969 from the meeting of higher education schools existing in the city, thus, it is affirmed that its origins date back to the Imperial period when the first course that until today integrates the institution was created. With more than one hundred and twenty years of history, this institution went through a period in which the Brazilian public administration assumed patrimonialist, bureaucratic, new public management arrangements and had contact with the experiences of social management until it took on the characteristics of the Tupiniquim public administration. This thesis had as a general goal to evaluate the PIBID as a teacher training program, in the vision of UFPel graduates. As specific goals, analyse how graduates evaluate the formation provided by the PIBID; ascertain the insertion in school during the participation in the program and; investigate teacher identity. The survey by self-administered quiz, via Google Forms, was answered by a population comprised of 103 graduates and showed itself to be adequate to the fruition of this research. The quiz
covered diverse graduate informations, including sociodemographic characteristics, professional and formative routes, building the profile of graduate students together with evaluation of the program as a whole, since formation, insertion in school and teacher identity. The results indicate that most of the graduate students are young, white women, where around 60% are acting as teachers. Most of the graudates informed that the PIBID influenced positively in their initial formation, with acquisition of new knowledge and that evaluates the subproject, where they acted, in a positive way. The graduate students also affirm to have been motivated by the field coordinators, the supervising professors and classmates to develop work at school and acquired autonomy in the classroom. Most consider that the relationship of the theory-practice binomial and the relationship of the university-school binomial need to be improved. Just over half of graduates said to identify themselves with the
teaching profession and got professional satisfaction. Investiments like the PIBID provide access for more students to upper level courses, specially in teacher formation courses. This study, by providing data on the evaluation of the PIBID from the perspective of graduates, allowed a mapping of the program, contributing with reflection on the initial formationof teachers in UFPel.

Como objetivos específicos, analisar como os egressos avaliam a formação recebida pelo PIBID; averiguar a inserção na escola durante a participação no Programa e; investigar a identidade docente. ▼ Metaphor is widely used in daily conversations, political debates, newspaper titles, literary works, advertisements and
pop song lyrics. However, little research is known in regard to the force behind metaphor in lyrics. In the past, most studies on metaphors in
pop song lyrics focused on discussing how metaphors have been used in different times, and categorizing them in terms of various conceptual metaphors. By investigating metaphors in ten Mandarin
pop songs which are also Taiwanese idol drama theme songs on SET cable TV, this thesis analyzes the functions of metaphors in them. The methods of analysis draw on several theoretical frameworks. First, to elucidate metaphors in every theme song, both Conceptual Metaphor Theory proposed by Lakoff and Johnson (1980, 1993) and Blending theory developed by Fauconnier and Turner (1994, 2002) were adopted. Such approaches are aimed at revealing mappings activated by metaphors. Then, to understand the functions of metaphor, we used the notion of performative potential (Tseng, 2010) to analyze the pragmatic force of metaphors. This notion suggests that metaphors potentially comprise verbal energy and can serve various functions. Besides, the concept of performative potential strengthens the interpersonal function of language, and yet the ideational and textual functions are included.
Based on the analysis, we found metaphors play a significant role in lyrics, and there is a discrepancy about metaphorical functions between opening and ending theme songs. This study shows that metaphors about life, love, and friendships are widely used in idol drama theme songs and that often more than one metaphor is used in a theme song. Besides, about love metaphors, innovative conceptual metaphors which have not been discussed before are applied in the theme songs (e.g. LOVE IS A CRIMINAL ACT). As regards functions of metaphor, the opening theme songs show a happy atmosphere and positive emotion. Nevertheless, some of the ending theme songs use metaphors to depict respectively sad scenes in failed love relationships. Moreover, we prove that the function of metaphor is not fixed. Although metaphors in ending theme songs involve some sad meanings, metaphors serve to add suspense in the lyrics. The function depends on whether a song is played prior to an episode begins or at the end of it. The suspense created by metaphors may make audiences look forward to seeing the next episode. Finally, the study showed that metaphors in theme songs make good connections with drama plots. This cultivates the intimacy between the song and its listeners. By and large, this study aims to offer a better understanding of the functions which metaphors serve in
pop songs, especially in drama theme songs.

▼ This dissertation aims to analyze the social direction on the attendance of Lesbians,
Gays, Bisexuals and Transsexuals (LGBT) populations in the Reference Center for
Specialized Social Assistance (
CREAS) in the city of João Pessoa – PB, mainly
because of Social Work answers to existing demands in the sexual diversity field. On
the assumption of recognition of the social relevance configuration of the National
Policy on Social Assistance (PNAS) and on its effectiveness,
CREAS performs the
task of realizing referrals that are necessary to redress Rights violations. From a
theorical methodological point of view, we have apprehended the object in its
historicity and multiple determinations. The results of this research enable the
identification of the main difficulties and challenges to Social Work in attending LGBT
population demands and also how the sexual diversity agenda presents itself in the
perspective of the Ethical Political Project of the profession. Despite of the PNAS
constitutes itself as one of the highest advance in Social Assistance configuration as
a public policy, inside its conception about the characterization of vulnerability of
PNAS
users, prevails the understanding that issues related to human diversity are
restrained to notions of stigmatized identities in ethnical, cultural and sexual terms.
With regard to concept of family, stands out transformations on its social political
recognition, but when PNAS refers only to women leading family nucleus, leaves out
family configurations formed by same-sex couples. It was possible to apprehend on
PNAS materialization large gaps concerning about insufficiency of the State on
investments on training in sexual diversity area to confront sexual orientation
prejudice and discrimination that stay, in large measures, invisible on daily
attendances. Therefore, we consider that social assistance is a citizenship right and
responsibility of the State, so the PNAS cannot be defined preferably (or exclusively)
based on vulnerabilities related to identity stigmatization without any characterization
of such mechanisms nor how they operate.

Adolescence is legally identified in Brazil as a period between 12 and 18 years of age, which are experienced biopsychosocial level transformations. If adolescents present behavior in conflict with the law, educational measures may be applied in open or closed. Monitoring the family and adolescent in the fulfillment
of socio-educational measures amid open to provide Services to the community and Assisted Freedom takes place through the Centro de Referência Especializado de Assistência Social (CREAS). The present research is characterized as descriptive, qualitative measures, and aimed to assess the parental style and food insecurity of seventeen families of teenagers in fulfillment of socio-educational measure on the CREAS of County of Dois Vizinhos, State of Paraná, considering these as factors that promote impacts on regional development and in the performance of public policies. The application of Parental Styles inventory to teens and their mothers, and in these, the implementation of Escala Brasileira de Insegurança Alimentar (EBIA) to know the percentage of food insecurity of these families. The results show that teens have assessed their mothers with a below-average parenting style in ten cases (58.8%), it was noted in the assessment of mothers about their own conduct. On average between
the results of teenagers and mothers compared, only one family (5.9%) achieved great result, five families (29.4%) were classified as at risk, and four families (23.5%) in regular situation. Applying the Wilcoxon test identified that the answers of the adolescents and their mothers in relation to parental style did not show significant variation, with exception to the moral behavior, where there was no difference between the perception of the teenagers and their mothers. The results of the application of EBIA pointed to the existence of 24% of the surveyed families in situation of food security. Mild food insecurity was observed in 24% of households, moderate for 35% of families and serious in 17% of families surveyed. The degrees of food insecurity are high compared to other samples of the population, however, no similar studies have been found. ▼ Bien que le phénomène de co-Création prenne de l'ampleur dans les pratiques actuelles des entreprises, ces dernières se déclarent souvent déçues par la faible créativité effective des utilisateurs « ordinaires » à générer des idées de nouveaux produits. Ce travail doctoral cherche à répondre au questionnement général suivant : peut-On améliorer l'efficacité des démarches de co-Création avec des utilisateurs ? Si l'identification des utilisateurs créatifs est un enjeu crucial pour les entreprises, il est également essentiel pour ces dernières de faire en sorte de stimuler les capacités créatives des utilisateurs enrôlés dans les processus d'innovation. Cette thèse s'intéresse donc au phénomène d'imagerie mentale qui a souvent été souligné en psychologie pour son implication dans les processus créatifs. Trois études quantitatives explorent la relation entre la capacité individuelle d'imagerie mentale et la capacité créative de sujets. Les résultats obtenus identifient la capacité d'imagerie mentale comme une variable révélatrice de la capacité créative des individus et constituant ainsi un élément possible d'identification des individus créatifs. Une quatrième étude montre qu'il est possible d'agir, par le biais d'instructions d'imaginer mentalement, sur les processus d'imagerie suspectés d'être en œuvre dans les processus créatifs, de manière à améliorer la créativité résultante. Ces résultats mettent en évidence l'imagerie mentale comme un mécanisme sous-Jacent explicatif des processus créatifs. Enfin, une cinquième expérimentation, plus conséquente en matière de variables examinées, étudie l'effet de deux types de stimulations de l'activité d'imagerie, à savoir : la présence d'une stimulation d'imagerie liée à soi (versus non liée à soi) et la présence (versus l'absence) d'un entraînement préalable à l'imagerie mentale. L'étude confirme le rôle médiateur de l'imagerie mentale et met en évidence les effets favorables de ces stimulations sur la quantité, l'originalité, l'utilité perçue et l'attrait des idées produites. Le rôle modérateur de variables individuelles – le caractère lead user et l'implication envers la catégorie de produit – a également été examiné.
Although co-Creation is a phenomenon increasingly present in various business practices, companies are often disappointed by the low effective creativity of "ordinary" users to generate ideas for new products. This doctoral research aims to answer the following general question: Can we improve the effectiveness of co-Creation processes with users? ▼ Den här studien ämnade undersöka utommusikaliska dimensioner av gymnasieskolans ensembleundervisning, med fokus på pop- och rockensemble. Ambitionen var att identifiera möjliga roller och identiteter hos elever för att synliggöra eventuella maktrelationer. Detta för att bidra till ökad kunskap i strävan efter en jämlik och inkluderande musikundervisning. Datainsamlingen skedde genom enskilda semistrukturerade intervjuer och fokusgrupper med gymnasieelever vid estetiska programmet. Dessa transkriberades till text och analyserades tematiskt utifrån diskursteorins begreppsapparat. Resultatet visar ojämlika maktrelationer där framför allt gruppbildningar utifrån könsidentitet och instrument avgör vilka som kan inta attraktiva positioner och roller. Dessa maktrelationer upprätthålls genom att utesluta subjekt och grupper som kan förstås som motsatser. Vidare synliggör resultatet att ensembleformatets utgångspunkt i genrepraktiken pop- och rock kan ses som en anledning till att normer och stereotyper upprätthålls. Slutsatserna visar ett behov av en breddad undervisningsrepertoar, en bredare representation samt en ökad social medvetenhet bland lärare och elever.
This study intended to examine the extra-musical dimensions of upper secondary school ensemble teaching, pop and rock in particular. The ambition was to identify the student’s possible roles and identities in order to make any power relations visible in order to contribute to increased knowledge in the pursuit of an equal and inclusive music education. Data collection was made through individual semi-structured interviews and focus groups with students off the upper secondary high school arts program. These were transcribed into text and analyzed thematically based on the concepts of discourse theory. The results show unequal power relations where, above all, group formations based on gender and instruments are the decisive factor in who can take attractive positions and roles. Positions of power are maintained by excluding other groups that can be understood as opposites. Furthermore, the results show that the ensemble’s starting point in the practice of pop -and rock genre can be seen as a reason for norms and stereotypes to be maintained. The conclusions show a need for a broader teaching repertoire, a broader representation and an increased social awareness among teachers and students.

▼ Este trabalho tem como objetivo descrever o processo de criação e desenvolvimento das Turmas Especiais de Medicina Veterinária na Universidade Federal de Pelotas. Adotei o estudo de caso como estratégia de pesquisa porque as TEMV são um caso revelador que ilustra as tensões e conflitos na implementação de um projeto de Educação do Campo no âmbito do Programa Nacional de Educação na Reforma Agrária em uma universidade pública. As TEMV foram as primeiras turmas especiais de bacharelado no Rio Grande do Sul e as primeiras turmas especiais de Medicina Veterinária no Brasil. Utilizei a abordagem descritiva para organizar o estudo de caso e apresentei os dados em forma de narrativa. Primeiro, apresentei o contexto de criação das TEMV. Depois, narrei a experiência das TEMV, identificando os personagens e descrevendo suas ações no processo de criação e no desenvolvimento do curso. Nas considerações finais, refleti sobre os impasses e a importância da
experiência para o Movimento da Educação do Campo, as limitações do trabalho e sugestões para trabalhos futuros.

I adopted the case study as a research strategy because TEMV are a telling case that illustrates the tensions and conflicts in the implementation of a Rural Education Project under the Programa Nacional de Educação na Reforma Agrária (PRONERA) in a public university. The TEMV were the first special classes for Bachelor in Rio Grande do Sul and the first special classes of Veterinary Medicine in Brazil. I used the descriptive approach to organize the case study and I presented the data in narrative form. First, I introduced the context of creating TEMV. Then I narrated the experience of TEMV, identifying the characters and describing their actions in the creation and development of the course. In the final considerations, I
reflected on the impasses and the importance of experience for the Movimento da Educação do Campo, work limitations and suggestions for future work.

users. This calls for a better understanding of the specific needs of different library
users in order to meet their needs. The main objective of the study was to determine student library users’ expectations and perceptions of service quality provided by Walter Sisulu University Libraries (WSUL) on the Butterworth campus. In this study, a survey was used to determine the expectations and perceptions of undergraduate and postgraduate Education students to determine their satisfaction with the library services provided by Walter Sisulu University. The identification of the gaps in WSUL services and the assessment of results can improve the quality of service delivery. To fulfil a qualitative aspect the Library Manager responded to an interview schedule of questions which provided useful background information.
The research method used for this study was the descriptive survey. A sample of 200 undergraduate and post graduate Education students were surveyed. An adapted LibQUAL+™ self-administered questionnaire was used for data gathering from these respondents. A total of 103 undergraduate students and 12 postgraduate students responded. The results are displayed in the form of tables. The study yielded a response rate of 58%.
The findings of the study showed those services with which respondents were least satisfied with. These included: prompt inter-library loan from other libraries, prompt action regarding missing books, easily available access to electronic databases, sufficient space for group learning and group study, adequate photocopying facilities and an adequate number of computer work stations. Services which respondents were most satisfied with were: online searching without the help of a librarian, a safe and secure place to study, staff who have the knowledge to answer students’ questions, online searching with the help of a librarian, and the OPAC which is clear and has useful information.
Based on the findings, certain recommendations were made to improve service quality and increase the level of user satisfaction at the WSUL on the Butterworth campus.

This paper focuses on advantages and disadvantages with crowdfunding and the users of crowdfunding platforms. Previously researchers mean that there are both positive and negative things about crowdfunding and these will be analyzed and raised in this paper. There is not much information about the users of crowdfunding platforms. In a previous paper I did a survey to try to identify who the users of crowdfunding are. In this paper the result from that survey will be analyzed and hopefully succeed in identifying the characteristics of users of crowdfunding platforms.

▼ Mobile digital library service could make students’ lives easier and may help academic libraries to enhance their image by offering their services through smartphones, which are very popular among students nowadays. However, the literature lacks a comprehensive theoretical framework to understand factors affecting the adoption of such a service. This research focused on factors affecting the intention to use a mobile digital library within the context of the UAE and explored features and services that would encourage students to adopt such technology. The research design considered users’ perspectives, comprised a number of phases and employed mixed methods. The first phase involved designing a preliminary prototype and framework based on the literature and the technology acceptance model (TAM). This prototype was used in the second (exploratory) phase as a stimulus material when students and librarians were interviewed in 10 focus groups. Based on their comments and views, factors that affect their intention were explored and hypotheses were generated. This exploratory phase allowed the development of a theoretical framework for mobile digital library adoption. Focus group results, card sorting methodology and usability testing produced a final prototype that was sent to all students at Zayed University within UAE with an experiential online questionnaire through e-mail. This testing phase was conducted to test the hypotheses and confirm the importance of the same factors extracted in the second phase. The results obtained from the 211 respondents supported a number of paths in the proposed theoretical framework. First, Perceived usefulness, Perceived ease of use, Mobile and web experience, Distinctiveness/prestige, and Trust were found significantly affecting the Behaviour intention directly. Second, Mobility, Library assistance, Interface design, and Social influence were found to affect the intention to use indirectly through Perceived ease of use. Finally, the relationship between Perceived ease of use and Perceived usefulness was found significant. The results lead for producing a final framework for mobile digital library acceptance consisting of seven external factors falling in the three general categories: interface characteristics, personal characteristics and system characteristics. It consists of Interface design, Social influence, Mobility, Library assistance, Distinctiveness/prestige, Mobile and web search experience and Perceived trust. This research contributed in understanding factors affecting mobile digital library adoption within the developing world.

▼ This research work, developed within the scope of the UFSM Cultural Heritage Masters, was carried out with the objective of analyzing the life of Amélia Fortunata Hartley de Brito, Baroness of the Three Hills, from 1864, the year of her arrival in the city of Pelotas in Rio Grande do Sul, from the far-away city of Rio de Janeiro, where she lived with her parents and grandparents. Considered a lady from Pelotas society, today she has a museum dedicated to her memory, the Museum of the Baroness; she was very present like a dedicated social woman in the period between 1864 and the end of the first decade of XX century, in the city of Pelotas / RS.The aim was to identify the references and possible contributions of the Baroness in the cultural heritage of Pelotas, analyzing her social and political importance. From this analysis, a glossary of period terms was created to contribute to the formal and non-formal educational practices of the said museum
in order to value not only the historicity, but also the corresponding social memories contained in this period.
Esse trabalho de pesquisa, desenvolvido no âmbito do Mestrado Profissionalizante em Patrimônio Cultural da UFSM, foi realizado com o objetivo de pesquisar a vida de Amélia Fortunata Hartley de Brito, Baronesa de Três Serros, a partir de 1864, ano de sua chegada à cidade de Pelotas no Rio Grande do Sul, vinda cidade do Rio de Janeiro, onde morava com seus pais e avós. Considerada uma dama da sociedade pelotense, hoje possui um museu dedicado à sua memória, o Museu da Baronesa, marcou presença no período entre 1864 e final da primeira década do século XX, na cidade de Pelotas/RS. Buscou-se então identificar as referências e as possíveis contribuições da Baronesa no patrimônio cultural de Pelotas analisando sua importância social e política. A partir desta análise, foi criado um glossário de termos de época para contribuir para as práticas educativas formais e não formais,
do referido museu, no intuito de valorizar não somente a historicidade, mas também as correspondentes memórias sociais contidas neste período.

A presente dissertação analisa como a atuação do advogado Antônio Ferreira Martins contribuiu para a luta da classe operária de Pelotas (RS) contra o patronato no processo de implantação da Justiça do Trabalho. Durante o período da fase autoritária do governo de Getúlio Vargas, o Estado Novo, a sociedade brasileira vivenciou importantes mudanças sociais, culturais e econômicas. Dentro desta conjuntura, em 1939, formou-se em Direito Antônio Ferreira Martins. Filho de operário e militante do Partido Comunista do Brasil (PCB), o jovem Martins viu no Direito do Trabalho um novo campo a ser explorado profissionalmente. Além de possibilitar um bom retorno financeiro, esse campo permitia a conciliação de sua profissão a ideologias políticas. As noções classe, justiça
(THOMPSON, 1987) são utilizadas para compreender o processo da participação ativa da classe operária na construção e regulamentação da legislação trabalhista brasileira. A discussão em torno do conceito “campo jurídico” (BOURDIEU, 2001) analisa como os atores sociais se movimentam neste espaço a partir das regras e convenções estipuladas neste campo. Por meio das reflexões sobre memória (CANDAU, 2011) e amparadas pela metodologia de História Oral Temática (MEIHY, 1998), foi utilizado na pesquisa três entrevistas que contribuíram para perceber diversas facetas do personagem pesquisado. As noções thompsonianas sobre Lei e Direito, contribuíram para a análise de pleitos judiciais em que o advogado Martins atuou. Por meio desta análise torna-se possível “pessoalizar” o campo jurídico, destacando quais eram suas estratégias de atuação e argumentação para captação e defesa de seus clientes.

▼ Nesta pesquisa examinamos os agentes públicos e privados envolvidos na promoção imobiliária na cidade de Pelotas (RS) entre os anos de 2009 e 2016, destacando suas estratégias, articulações e sinergias em torno da reprodução do ambiente construído. Como mediação teórica, a investigação se serve das contribuições de autores como Harvey (1980; 2004; 2007; 2013), Chesnais (1996), Lefebvre (2008), Lipietz (1989), Soja (1993), Gottdiener (1997), Abramo (1988), Pereira (2005), Carlos (2010), Sanfelici (2015), Shimbo (2010), Royer (2014), Rolnik (2015), Aalbers e Fernandez (2014), retomando os pressupostos da reestruturação econômica, urbana e da cidade e atentando para a tendência de crescimento da financeirização como elemento indutor dos processos de valorização, internacionalização e acumulação do capital e de reprodução do espaço. Em termos metodológicos, a pesquisa se consubstancia por meio de uma diversidade de fontes de informação, instrumentos de
coleta e procedimentos técnicos, tanto de cunho qualitativos como quantitativos, sendo estes fundamentais para operar uma aproximação teórico-analítica a respeito das características formais e funcionais dos processos, frações, objetos e ações destacadas em nosso estudo. Como resultado, o estudo demonstra o impulso na produção do ambiente construído em Pelotas (RS) após o ano de 2009, o que supôs novos contextos nas formas, funções e estruturação do espaço urbano e do setor imobiliário nessa cidade de porte médio, especialmente pela ampliação da oferta de novos artefatos arquitetônicos e urbanos e da ascensão de novas lógicas, nexos e escalas de produção, valorização e articulação entre agentes locais, regionais e nacionais.
In this study we examine the public and private agents involved in real-estate promotion in the city of Pelotas (RS) in the period from 2009 to 2016, highlighting their strategies, articulations and synergies around the reproduction of the built environment.
The theoretical framework encompasses the contributions of authors such as Harvey (1980; 2004; 2007; 2013), Chesnais (1996), Lefebvre (2008), Lipietz (1989), Soja (1993), Gottdiener (1997), Abramo (1988), Pereira (2005), Carlos (2010), Sanfelici (2015), Shimbo (2010), Royer (2014), Rolnik (2015), Aalbers, and Fernandez (2014). It revisits the assumptions about economic and urban restructuring of the city, examining the growing trend of financialization as an element that induces processes of valorization, internationalization and accumulation of capital and of reproduction of the space. In methodological terms, the investigation is built around a diversity of sources of information, data collection instruments and technical procedures, both qualitative and quantitative, which are fundamental to operate a theoretical- analytical approximation regarding the formal and functional characteristics of the processes, fractions, objects and actions featured in this study.
