 当研究室では常温常圧でフロンを分解する方法を発見した。NaOHを溶かした低級のアルコールにフロンをバブリングし紫外線を当てることで脱塩素を可能にした。しかしNaOHがフロンの溶解度に影響を及ぼしており、塩析効果がみられた。塩析効果はNa+とアルコールの2種間で起こっている現象であると考えていたが塩析効果定数を決定する際に用いるグループ寄与法において、フロン分子の寄与分を用いていることから3種間で起こるものと考えた。この推測を検証するべく研究をおこなった。フロンの種類はHFC-134a、HFC-152a、を使用し、アルコールはメタノール、エタノールを用いて実験をおこなった。Solubility of fluorocarbons is affected by NaOH concentration.
