Obstaja veliko različnih razlogov, zaradi katerih človek zapusti svoj dom in se preseli v novo kulturno okolje. Nekateri se zaradi različnih razlogov odločijo za vrnitev. V tem primeru govorimo o povratnim migrantih, ki lahko s svojim znanjem in izkušnjami prispevajo k družbeno ekonomskemu razvoju matične države. Pri povratku lahko naletijo na različne ovire in težave, pogosto pa doživljajo tudi neuspehe pri vstopu na trg dela v domači državi. Vedno več slovenskih podjetij išče priložnosti za prodajo svojih izdelkov in storitev na tujih trgih. Pri tem so jim lahko v pomoč tudi povratniki, ki imajo medkulturne kompetence, izkušnje in znanje, pridobljeno v tujini ter poznajo tuje jezike. O potrebi po tovrstnih kadrih odločajo managerji, ki upravljajo s človeškimi viri in na tem področju sodelujejo z lastniki, direktorji in drugimi zaposlenimi. S predstavniki slovenskih podjetij smo se pogovarjali o težavah s pridobivanjem kvalificirane delovne sile in o pomembnosti izkušenj, pridobljenih v tujini. Skušali smo izvedeti, v kolikšni meri medkulturne kompetence in znanje tujih jezikov vplivajo na večjo možnost zaposlitve povratnikov. Ugotovili smo, da obravnavana slovenska podjetja v glavnem povprašujejo po kadrih tehničnih poklicev in da izkušnje ter kompetence, pridobljene v tujini, same po sebi niso zadosten razlog za zaposlitev. Povratnih migrantov v slovenskih podjetjih ni zaznati v večji meri, saj je že več let zapored prisoten trend izseljevanja.

There are many different reasons why people leave their current residence and move to the new environment. After a while some of those decide to return to their country of origin. Return migration is a phenomenon of expatriates headed back to their home country. With fresh knowledge and experiences they can contribute to social and economic development of their region and country. Returnees can face many obstacles and difficulties or experience failure when trying to enter the labor market in their home country. More and more Slovenian entrepreneurs are constantly searching for the right opportunities to export their products or services. Return migrants possess intercultural competences, experiences and speak foreign languages. With all these qualities they represent valuable resources for the enterprise. If such personnel are required, then human resource management, along with the owners, top management and other employees, takes a decision on hiring. We conducted several interviews with enterprise representatives. Our fields of interest were difficulties at gaining qualified workforce and importance of internationally gained experiences. We were also curious if intercultural competences and knowledge of foreign languages play key role at recruiting and employing returnees. Through the research we learned that interviewed Slovenian enterprises feel lack of technical professions. Experiences and skills, just because they are gained abroad, do not guarantee an employment.
