(本論文の構成と概要)本論文は、3章で構成される。第Ⅰ章では、膜不透過性蛍光色素、ルシファーイエローの典型的な使用法および味蕾細胞にルシファーイエローを用いた経緯について概説する。また、このとき発見したルシファーイエローの問題点に触れ、本研究の目的および各章の構成について述べる。第Ⅱ章では、味蕾細胞およびマウス培養海馬神経細胞が発現する各種イオンチャネルに対するルシファーイエローの薬理作用を示す。その結果、光照射によってルシファーイエローが少数のイオンチャネルを修飾することを報告する。第Ⅲ章では、ルシファーイエロー作用を引き起こす物質が活性酸素種であること、活性酸素種が比較的長い寿命を持つこと、を報告する。
