Realizou se a presente pesquisa, visando investigar e apresentar um método alternativo de irrigação localizada, com o qual se obtivesse baixo custo e nível tecnológico comparável aos métodos existentes no mercado. Para tanto, desenvolveu-se os modelos matemáticos UNIVERSAL e WSBOTREL, para dimensionamento de microtubos sob regime de escoamento turbulento, onde se inclui as perdas de carga no microtubo, perda de carga localizada e por energia de velocidade na saída do microtubo, sendo que os mesmos foram utilizados no desenvolvimento de um software em planilha de Excel, para projetar linhas laterais com microtubos de comprimentos iguais e variáveis. Os modelos foram avaliados com o dimensionamento de uma linha lateral de irrigação, e tiveram ótimos desempenhos, tendo em vista que os dados coletados proporcionaram vazão média próxima da vazão de projeto, com coeficiente de determinação acima de 98%, excelente uniformidade de distribuição, baixo erro médio absoluto e coeficiente de variação de vazão. Avaliou-se o comportamento da água sob diferentes pressões e temperaturas, e verificou-se que a variação da vazão foi quase nula para uma diferença de temperatura de 3,00 Kelvins. O modelo WSBOTREL foi empregado para projetar um sistema de irrigação, com a proposta de utilizar fertirrigação em mudas de laranja cultivadas em estufa. O sistema ficou sob avaliação durante 160 dias, sendo que no final do ciclo, não foi observado entupimento dos emissores, e, as plantas tiveram alturas e diâmetros do caule iguais às plantas irrigadas de maneira tradicional com mangueiras, conforme procedimento adotado pela empresa, com vantagem de economizar mão de obra e solução utilizada na fertirrigação. Dessa forma, pode-se dizer que o sistema de irrigação com microtubos em regime de escoamento turbulento se mostrou tecnicamente viável para utilização.

The present work aims to investigate an alternative method of localized irrigation, with low cost and technological level comparable to nowadays equipments on the market. To do so, it has developed the mathematical models UNIVERSAL and WSBOTREL, for calculating microtubs diameter and length that would work under turbulent flow, where it is considered: head loss in the microtub and localized head loss at extremities. It was development software on a spreadsheet Excel, to design laterals lines with microtubs of similar and variable length. The models were evaluated for calculating the lateral line of irrigation systems, presenting great performance: collected data showed average discharge close to projected discharge, with coefficient of determination of 98%, excellent uniformity of distribution, low mean absolute error and variation coefficient of discharge. It was evaluated the behavior of emitters under different pressures and water temperatures. It was found that the discharge of variation was almost zero for a temperature difference of 3 degree Kelvin. La signalisation cellulaire induite par les récepteurs à sept domaines transmembranaires(R7TM) contrôle les principales fonctions physiologiques humaines. Ces R7TMs sont cibles de médicaments et initient de larges réseaux d'interactions. Nous avons modélisé dynamiquement les réseaux de signalisation du récepteur à l'hormone folliculo-stimulante(FSH) régulant la fonction de reproduction et du récepteur angiotensine, un R7TM modèle régulant la tension pour comprendre le fonctionnement de ces réseaux et prédire des données inaccessibles expérimentalement. Notre modélisation a utilisé des équations différentielles ordinaires, en assimilant une variable par espèce et un paramètre par constante cinétique. Les paramètres manquants ont été déterminés par optimisation paramétrique.Puis, nous avons développé un environnement afin de comparer plusieurs algorithmes d'optimisation et créer une nouvelle méthode hybride plus performante et adaptée à la paramétrisation des réseaux de signalisation.

Seven transmembrane receptor (7TMR) signaling controls the main human physiological functions. R7TMs are targeted by drugs and initiate large and complex networks responsible for physiological effects. In this thesis, we dynamically modelled the FSHR induced network that have critical role in reproduction and the angiotensin receptor induced network which regulates blood presure and is considered as a model 7TMR with the objective to understand their mechanisms of functionning and to predict experimentally unreachable data. Our modeling, based on ODE formalism, assumes each species as a variable and each kinetic rate as a parameter. Some parameters were unknown and requiered an adjustment. This led us to develop an environement allowing the comparaisonof existing adjustment methods and to create a novel and efficient hybrid method well-adapted to parametrization of signaling networks.

▼ Background: Identification of factors responsible for increasing the chance of breast cancer developing is important in daily clinical practice. Epidemiological studies on these risk factors are limited among women of less-industrialized countries, including Greece.Objective: The aim of this study is to assess various factors implicated in the aetiology of breast cancer to identify the actual risk factors among Greek women in Macedonia, so as to develop appropriate clinical practice guidelines and hopefully prevention strategies.Materials and Method: A cross-sectional case-control study among women with or without breast cancer was prospectively conducted in outpatient breast department of two surgical clinics of Thessaloniki (Hippokratio and AHEPA, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki) by using a questionnaire. Statistical comparisons were performed using logistic regression analysis, to compute the odds ratios (ORs) for the variables of interest.Results: Fifty three breast cancer cases were included. The control group consisted of 131 women. The risk factors that were found to have significant effect in breast cancer risk included: age, age at first live birth, body mass index (BMI), BMI before 5 years and BMI gain after the age of 18 years old, history of height loss, parity, menopausal status, bone density and use of oral contraceptive pills. The practical results of using the logistic regression model showed that the only risk factor that was found to have significant effect in breast cancer risk was age, with an odds ratio equal to 1.113, which means that the odds of suffering from breast cancer for a woman of a specific age, eg. 31 years old, are 1.113 times the odds of suffering from breast cancer for a woman that is 1 year younger, eg. 30 years old, all other things being equal.Statistical adjustment was rendered more efficient by matching cases and controls in groups, choosing a control group (n=75) with an age distribution similar to that of the cases (n=53). Differences in distribution of age at first live birth were found between cases and controls, while all of the rest risk factors were found to have no significant effect in breast cancer risk. However, the practical results of using the logistic regression model showed that age at first live birth appeared to have no significant effect in breast cancer risk and can not be used to construct a reliable model for predicting the probability a given woman will suffer from cancer.Conclusions: The presence of one or several breast cancer risk factors does not mean a woman will develop breast cancer. Many women who suffer from breast cancer have no known risk factor, conceivably other than just being women and getting older gradually. The absence of known risk factors should not prevent a regular, systematic, methodical, complete evaluation of a woman to facilitate detection of breast cancer. V magistrskem delu smo obravnavali tematiko sproščanja ogljikovega dioksida (CO2) med fermentacijo mleka s kefirnimi zrni. CO2 ima velik vpliv na organoleptične lastnosti mlečnega napitka kefirja, zaradi česar je smiselno spremljanje njegove koncentracije v fermentacijskem mediju. Vsebnost CO2 lahko zaradi različnih razlogov tudi niha, kar na industrijskem nivoju ni zaželeno, zato smo pri naših raziskavah razvili model, ki je primeren za nadaljnjo analizo tega procesa ter za načrtovanje in sintezo regulacijskega sistema za vodeno dinamiko sproščanja CO2. Vse eksperimente smo izvajali v avtomatiziranem šaržnem reaktorju, ki je deloval kot odprt sistem. Fermentacije so potekale pri različnih temperaturah in vrtilnih frekvencah mešala, sledili smo koncentracijo nastalega CO2. Dobljene koncentracijske profile smo najprej analizirali iz mikrobiološkega vidika. Ugotovili smo, da lahko značilnosti krivulje uspešno opišemo z Gompertz-ovim kinetičnim modelom in njegovimi parametri (maksimalno doseženo koncentracijo, maksimalno proizvodnost CO2 in čas trajanja lag faze). Potrdili smo tudi odvisnost sproščanja CO2 od obeh procesnih parametrov. V nadaljevanju smo na osnovi analize eksperimentalnih podatkov razvili poenostavljen matematični model sproščanja CO2. Temperaturo in vrtilno frekvenco mešala smo obravnavali kot vhodni spremenljivki, koncentracijo plina kot izhodno. Serija eksperimentov pri konstantnih vhodnih spremenljivkah je pokazala, da lahko odziv izhodne spremenljivke v vseh primerih opišemo z eksponentnim izrazom s pripadajočimi parametri. Sledila je določitev vpliva stopničnega spreminjanja obeh vhodnih spremenljivk na izhodno. Primerjali smo koncentracijske profile CO2 v primeru konstantnih in spremenljivih vhodnih spremenljivk. Na tej osnovi smo določili prenosni funkciji, ki povezujeta spremembo vhodnih z odzivom izhodne spremenljivke. Dosegli smo zelo dobro ujemanje eksperimentalno in simulacijsko dobljenih profilov.

In our master's thesis we dealt with the topic of carbon dioxide (CO2) release during milk fermentation with kefir grains. CO2 has a great impact on organoleptic properties of the milk based beverage kefir, whitch makes it meaningful to trace the concetration in the fermentation medium. The CO2 content can vary due to different causes, whitch, on an industrial level, is unwanted. In our research we developed a model, that is suitable for further analysis of the process and for design and synthesis of a regulation system allowing guided dynamics of CO2 release. All experiments were carried out in an automated batch reactor, that functioned as an aerobic system. Fermentations were conducted at different temperatures and stirrer rotation speeds, and the CO2 concentration was measured. The resulting concentration profiles were first analysed from a microbiological point of view. Atualmente, a doenÃa conhecida como resinose, causada pelo fungo Lasiodiplodia theobromae, vem merecendo destaque no semi-Ãrido brasileiro devido ao ataque em galhos e ramos lenhosos da planta, provocando significativas perdas na produÃÃo de castanha. O desenvolvimento de estudos epidemiolÃgicos Ã de fundamental importÃncia no entendimento dos aspectos ecolÃgicos envolvidos na ocorrÃncia e progresso da doenÃa. Este trabalho objetivou realizar estudos sobre a dinÃmica espaÃo-temporal do patÃgeno em trÃs diferentes clones de cajueiro. Foram estimadas a dispersÃo desta doenÃa atravÃs de seu padrÃo espacial e temporal na Ãrea em estudo, estudando-se os componentes das anÃlises como os modelos de curva de progresso da doenÃa, intensidade mÃxima da doenÃa, inÃcio de aparecimento dos sintomas e Ãrea abaixo da curva de progresso da doenÃa, de forma a comparar epidemiologicamente o desenvolvimento desta doenÃa em clones com diferentes reaÃÃes. As Ãreas de estudo estÃo localizadas em uma propriedade situada no municÃpio de Pio IX, PI. Os dados de incidÃncia e severidade foram coletados entre os anos de 2002 e 2007, e utilizados nas anÃlises espaciais e temporais para os clones BRS 226, Embrapa 51 e Faga 11. Mesmo apresentando diferenÃas quanto Ã incidÃncia e severidade, foi observado que a doenÃa assume um modelo aleatÃrio de dispersÃo no inÃcio da epidemia, e que o aumento da incidÃncia se dÃ pelo surgimento de novos focos unitÃrios e crescimento dos focos antes existentes. Posteriormente, registrou-se uma agregaÃÃo de plantas doentes. Os clones apresentaram ajustes a diferentes modelos epidemiolÃgicos de acordo com o grau de susceptibilidade. As comparaÃÃes entre as epidemias baseadas nos seus componentes apresentaram diferenÃas significativas entre os clones de cajueiro, sugerindo o uso potencial da resistÃncia genÃtica do hospedeiro como mÃtodo de controle da resinose do cajueiro.

Presently, a cashew disease known as gummosis, caused by the fungus Lasiodiplodia theobromae, deserves special attention due to its infection to branches and trunks of woody plants imposing significantly reduction in nut yield. As the importance of disease increases, it becomes of fundamental importance the development of epidemiological studies to understand the ecological aspects involved on disease establishment and progress. This work aimed to study gummosis dynamics in time and space in three different clones of cashew. Patterns of dispersion in space and disease progress on time, as well as the components involved on these models such as disease progress curve, maximum disease intensity, area under the disease progress curve and the point of initial disease were studied analyzed in order to compare epidemics in the three clones with different disease reactions. The study was conducted in a commercial cashew farm in Pio IX district in Piaui state, Brazil. The substitution of non-renewable resources has emerged as an alternative solution, in which a new route for the production of propionic acid is inserted in these precepts. Today the large scale production propionic acid comes from petrochemical route, and the use of glycerin to produce organic acids has become an alternative to mitigate the environmentally sensitive damages that are a priori, a requirement for actually possible remain competitive in the market. However, the thesis presented portrays an alternative synthesis of propionic acid by fermentative route, this are the steps of the process, from raw material to finished product. In this context the study of analysis and selection of culture media presenting the guidance in the choice of some salts, yeast extract and glycerin concentration in relation to the performance, efficiency and conversion in propionic acid, this study arise was possible to obtain a yield 80% propionic acid in the production of an efficiency of 99% and 67% conversion for the concentration of 20 g / L glycerin, 15 g / L of yeast extract, 3 g/L NH4H2PO4 to (g/L) and 1 g / L of KH2PO4 (g/L); the development of a novel and high potential industry process was carried out through a process of anaerobic fermentation part in which there was complete consumption of the supplied reagent and 100% yield, obtained as an end product of fermentation propionic acid and succinic acid compared with conventional fermentation in which was only obtained propionic acid and the residue submitted at the end of the process the substrate; the study of the influence of the combined effect of concentration and temperature propionic acid in the fermentation process it was possible to obtain 83-97% conversion and a yield of 100% using a temperature of 30 °C; the choice of the model and estimation of kinetic parameters depending on the temperature, where the kinetic parameters were calculated for the model unstructured and not segregation by the method of optimization by a genetic algorithm for obtaining greater reproducibility study tracks; and separating propionic acid fermentation broth using an evaporative system through the molecular still, in the fermentation medium was readily obtained by separate treatment by solid-liquid separation and separation of the obtained propionic acid from the other components of the fermentation broth external condenser at a pressure of 100 mbar and temperature of 130 °C Advisors/Committee Members: UNIVERSIDADE ESTADUAL DE CAMPINAS (CRUESP), Maciel, Maria Regina Wolf, 1955- (advisor), Maciel Filho, Rubens, 1958- (coadvisor), Universidade Estadual de Campinas. ENGLISH ABSTRACT : In this study we look at the syndemic of substance abuse and drug-related crime in the Western Cape province of South Africa. The intent of this study is to provoke critical thinking about the possibilities systems thinking and system dynamics posses for social and health challenges in a diverse and complex environment like that of South Africa, especially the Western Cape. This study ventures into cross-discipline work between Epidemiology, Biomathematics and System Dynamics, with the hope of encouraging researchers from different fields to collaborate in order to curb the scourge of substance abuse and drug-related crime in South Africa. Substance abuse and the associated health and social hazards such as drug-related crime is a major problem in the Western Cape. Drug-related crime cases reported by the South African Police Services (SAPS) for the Western Cape exhibited a 311.5% growth in the past decade. This highlights how the reduction of substance abuse and drug-related crime within theWestern Cape province, will be an elixir for the safety and development of the communities. The fight against substance abuse has been driven by a multi-sectorial approach involving several government departments, non-governmental organisations and communities. With systems thinking the assumption is that the world is systemic, which means that phenomena is understood to be an emergent property of the interrelated whole. Firstly, using non-linear ordinary differential equations, we formulate a deterministic mathematical model for the substance abuse and drug-related crime syndemic, evaluate the threshold number and use sensitivity analysis to analyze the model. Secondly, a dynamic system, called the Substance Abuse and Drug-related Crime in theWestern Cape (SADC-WC) system is constructed using the STELLA in order to explore and classify the underlying relationships and structures within the substance abuse and drug-related crime system. Both the sensitivity analysis, and the simulations of the SADC-WC system indicate that an increase of successful convictions will have a significant influence on the syndemic, and promise to reduce drug-related crime cases.

AFRIKAANSE OPSOMMING : In hierdie studie ondersoek on die syndemie (‘syndemic’) van dwelmmisbruik en dwelmverwante misdaad in die Wes-Kaap provinsie, in Suid-Afrika. Die moontlikhede wat sistemiese denke en dinamiese sisteme inhou vir sosiale en gesondheid kwale in ’n diverse en komplekse omgewing soos Suid-Afrika, word ondersoek. L’avènement du concept d’Open Innovation a été perçu par les industriels comme une formidable opportunité pour améliorer leur processus d’innovation et augmenter leur marge. En effet, ce concept prônant la large distribution des connaissances, suggère que les entreprises doivent solliciter leur environnement pour acquérir de nouvelles technologies par le biais de collaborations et que la valorisation des technologies internes à l’entreprise peut se faire de divers manières, comme le licensing. Alors les frontières de l’entreprise deviennent poreuses pour permettre une forte interaction avec des partenaires externes. Malgré toutes les promesses de ce concept, celui-ci a apporté un certain nombre de problématiques allant de la propriété intellectuelle à la culture d’entreprise en passant par les freins cognitifs. En accord avec le partenaire industriel de cette thèse, notre observation terrain et les constats bibliographiques, nous nous sommes concentrés sur les aspects organisationnels à mettre en œuvre pour mener une politique d’Open Innovation. Ainsi, cette thèse propose un premier modèle conceptuel pour ancrer une organisation dans son environnement et prendre pleinement en compte le paradigme d’Open Innovation. Ce modèle se base sur l’hypothèse que l’environnement est composé de facteurs d’influence qui ont un impact sur les projets de l’entreprise et que ceux-ci doivent posséder un capital compétence adéquate pour maitriser ces facteurs et atteindre les objectifs. Fort de ce cadre conceptuel, nous avons modélisé mathématiquement une organisation avec une approche coût/bénéfice pour comprendre le fonctionnement d’une organisation en mode « open ». Cela nous a permis de mettre en évidence le rôle de la structure organisationnelle et de la stratégie pour une politique d’Open Innovation. Enfin, en accord avec notre posture épistémologique d’action-recherche, nous avons développé un outil d’aide à l’orientation de l’action, RO²I (Relevant Organization for Open Innovation). L’objectif de cet outil est de proposé aux porteurs de projets, à t=0 du projet, une aide pour prendre en compte les aspects collaboratifs afin de mener leurs projets à bien et de choisir le bon modèle organisationnel pour inclure les compétences des partenaires. Nous avons pu tester la pertinence de notre proposition sur plusieurs projets passés d’une équipe d’innovation de rupture. Une fois validé, nous avons souhaité vérifier que notre outil était utilisable par les porteurs de projet, eux-mêmes, donc nous avons effectué une expérimentation sur deux projets en phase de démarrage dans les services supports de Solvay. Ce travail conclue sur la nécessité de posséder une organisation adaptée aux activités de collaboration et sur la nécessité d’un outil permettant de prendre en compte l’Open Innovation. Este trabalho apresenta o panorama atual da indústria do transporte marítimo regular de contêineres e o mercado em que atua, concluindo que o crescimento da atividade econômica mundial, e conseqüentemente na demanda de transporte, exige maiores investimentos por parte dos armadores para adequação da oferta de capacidade de transporte e de rotas, aumentando a competição entre os mesmos. Os processos de globalização, desregulamentação e de concentração alteram significativamente nível de competição da indústria, tornando os armadores de baixa lucratividade em potenciais alvos para aquisições por parte de empresas mais competitivas e lucrativas. A implementação de contratos de serviços entre um armador e seus clientes, decorrentes da OSRA 1998, demandam uma revisão na metodologia aplicada em seu planejamento de marketing&sales , de forma a torná-lo mais científico, com uma maior utilização de ferramentas de pesquisa operacional, uma vez que a seleção dos clientes com os quais terá contratos, a duração destes, os níveis de fretes e os imbalances decorrentes destes contratos são fatores fundamentais para a sua rentabilidade. A possibilidade de utilização de um modelo de sistema de apoio a decisão, baseado em margem de contribuição, no planejamento de marketing&sales de um armador motivou a elaboração de uma metodologia para desenvolvimento de uma ferramenta de apoio à decisão, na qual os parâmetros relativos à demanda de transporte, capacidades, custos e receitas podem ser testados para análise da atuação do armador no mercado, visando a seleção de cargas e clientes que maximizam a margem bruta de contribuição dos fretes. A metodologia adotada e o modelo desenvolvido em programação linear mostram-se bastante consistentes e seus resultados apresentam uma boa aderência à realidade encontrada na indústria, uma vez que, os problemas normalmente apresentados no planejamento de marketing&sales de um armador são tratados e solucionados pelo modelo.

This work presents the current view about liner shipping industry and the market where it acts, summing up that the growth of world economic activity, and consequently in the demand of transport services, requires greater investments from the shipping lines in order to adjust their transport capacities and routes, increasing the competition among them. The globalization processes, deregulation and concentration changed the level of industry competition significantly, becoming the shipping lines with low profitability in white potentials for acquisitions on the part of more competitive and lucrative shipping lines. The service contracts implementation between a shipping line and its customers, as a result of OSRA 1998, demands a revision in the methodology applied in its planning of marketing & sales, enabling it more scientific with a bigger use of operational research tools, since the customers election based on service contracts and its validity, the freights level and the imbalances pertaining to said contracts are basic factors for its yield. O objetivo deste trabalho é o de pesquisar o desempenho de alunos na Resolução de Problemas envolvendo Função do 1 Grau, estudando suas atitudes e procedimentos e visando a responder às seguintes questões: os alunos do primeiro ano do Ensino Médio da Educação de Jovens e Adultos resolvem uma seqüência de problemas referenciados na vida cotidiana que envolve Função Polinomial do 1 Grau? Quais são os procedimentos adotados por esses alunos na resolução de problemas? Os problemas do cotidiano que foram escolhidos são citados em um livro preparatório ao Exame Nacional de Certificação de Competências de Jovens e Adultos (ENCCEJA). A pesquisa apoiou-se na noção de Registros de Representação Semiótica e, também, baseou-se na Proposta Curricular de Matemática para a Educação de Jovens e Adultos para os primeiro e segundo segmentos do Ensino Fundamental e na Matriz de Matemática para o Exame Nacional para Certificação de Competências de Jovens e Adultos do Ensino Médio. Nesta pesquisa, pôde-se evidenciar a dificuldade dos alunos na Resolução dos Problemas e a falta de conhecimentos básicos que deveriam ser adquiridos no Ensino Fundamental

The term Problems Resolution has been on focus at Mathematic Education and the students of Education for Young and Adult Students have been facing difficulties on problematic situations. The objective of this work was to evaluate the students ability on solving problems with First degree function, analyzing their attitudes and methods and aiming to answer the following questions: are the first year high school students, of Education for Young and Adults, able to answer a sequence of ordinary problems evolving First degree function? Which are the methods adopted by these students to solve them? The chosen ordinary problems are found in a preparatory book to National Exam of Certification of Young and Adults Competencies. This research is based on the Notes of Semiotic Representation. Its also based on the Mathematic educational proposal for Education for Young and Adult Students, first and second level of fundamental school, and on the Mathematic matrix of national exam of Competency Certification of young and adults in high school. After this research its possible to notice the students difficulties on solving the problems and the lack of basic knowledge which should be acquired during the fundamental school

O presente estudo teve como objetivo identificar nos resultados do SAEB/2003, no CearÃ, um modelo multilinear com variÃveis que garantam o maior grau de explicaÃÃo do rendimento em matemÃtica nos testes aplicados nas amostras de 4Â sÃrie da escola pÃblica; 4Â sÃrie da escola particular; 8Â sÃrie da escola pÃblica e 8Â sÃrie da escola particular. Tomando-se, entre as variÃveis do diretor, do professor, do aluno e das condiÃÃes fÃsicas da escola, as variÃveis que se relacionavam significativamente com o rendimento no teste de matemÃtica em cada uma das amostraS, com os recursos do software SPSS (Statical Package for the Social Sciences), uma regressÃo linear em cada amostra, com o mÃtodo âstepwareâ. Obtiveram-se quatro modelos lineares mÃltiplos com variÃveis que permitem um maior grau de explicaÃÃo do rendimento no teste em matemÃtica em cada uma das amostras. Conclui-se que a anÃlise desse tipo permite a formulaÃÃo de polÃticas pÃblicas capazes de superar a busca da melhoria do ensino por intervenÃÃes pontuais.

This study had as its objective the identification in the results of SAEB/2003, here in CearÃ, of a multilinear model with variables that gave a greater degree of explaination for the results in mathematics of tests given in the randomic sample of the fourth years students in public schools, the fourth year students in private schools, the eight year students in public schools and the eight year students in private schools. The following variables were taken into account: the director, the teacher, the student, the physical state of the school as variables that had significant relevance with the results of the tests in mathematics in each one of the samples, using the resources of the software SPSS (Statical Package for the School Sciences), a linear regression in each sample, using the method "stepware". Four multilinear models with variables were obtained that permitted a greater degree of explaination for the results of the mathematic tests in each sample. The study concluded affirming that an analysis of this type permits the formulation of public politics capable of overcoming the search for better forms of teaching with punctual interventions.

Στον Πατραϊκό κόλπο έχουν γίνει πλήθος ερευνητικών εργασιών με διαφορετικά αντικείμενα. Στη Φυσική Ωκεανογραφία φαίνεται να εμφανίζεται ένα ερευνητικό κενό, που αφορά την προσομοίωση της κυκλοφορίας του νερού στην περιοχή. Το κενό αυτό προσπαθεί να καλύψει η εργασία αυτή, με απώτερο σκοπό την κατανόηση του υδροδυναμικού καθεστώτος της περιοχής μελέτης. Στην εργασία χρησιμοποιούνται όλες οι υφιστάμενες βιβλιογραφικές πηγές και μετρήσεις. Επίσης χρησιμοποιείται το μαθηματικό μοντέλο ΜΙΚΕ21 για την δυσδιάστατη προσομοίωση της κυκλοφορίας του νερού αφού πρώτα προηγήθηκε η βαθμονόμηση του. Το αποτέλεσμα της εργασίας αυτής οδηγεί στην κατανόηση της δυσδιάστατης υδροδυναμικής κυκλοφορίας του νερού, κυρίως στον Πατραϊκό κόλπο αλλά και στο Στενό Ρίου – Αντιρρίου και σε ένα μικρό τμήμα του Κορινθιακού κόλπου.

In the Patras gulf they have become many of inquiring work with different objects. In the Natural Oceanography it appears that is presented an inquiring void that concerns the simulation of circulation of water in the region. This project tries to cover this void, with final aim the comprehension of hydrodynamic arrangement of region of study. In the work are used all the existing bibliographic sources and measurements. Also is used mathematic model MIKE21 for the 2-dimensions simulation of water circulation. The result of this work leads to the comprehension of 2-dimensions hydrodynamic circulation of water, mainly to the Patras gulf but also to the channel Rio-Antirio and to a small part of Corinthian gulf.

▼ [pt] A produção e o uso de DRI (Direct Reduction Iron) são cada vez maiores hoje em dia nos países desenvolvidos, essencialmente pela redução do preço do gás natural e do sucesso da tecnologia de extração de gás de xisto. Além disso, o menor teor de elementos contaminantes em DRI do que nas sucatas de aço, levou-o a ser considerado uma boa alternativa como carga metálica para o Forno Elétrico a Arco (FEA) e o processo no conversor LD /BOF. Os custos operacionais e os problemas ambientais, são atualmente dois fatores tecnológicos importantes a serem considerados na otimização da produção de DRI, afetando à produtividade, sustentabilidade e competitividade do processo industrial. O teor de carbono do DRI, por exemplo, tem se tornado cada vez mais importante, devido à sua capacidade de gerar energia química nas aciarias, complementando o uso de energia elétrica nos FEA e os inputs energéticos no LD. Este trabalho foi uma das partes do programa de cooperação entre a Companhia de Mineração Samarco e o Grupo de Siderurgia da Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio de Janeiro / PUC-Rio, que tratou especificamente do modelo cinético para a metalização e carburização simultâneas em fornos RD tipo cuba. No âmbito deste objetivo o reator foi dividido em três zonas: Redução, Transição e Resfriamento. Foram também consideradas mais três camadas concêntricas: periférica, media e central. Com base nos resultados obtidos em experiências que abrangeram diferentes tipos de pelotas, empregando misturas gasosas semelhantes às presentes nos processos industriais e obedecendo às suas correspondentes semelhanças fluidodinâmicas, foi desenvolvido um software, denominado METCARB, que incluiu na sua elaboração todas as equações e modelos cinéticos desenvolvidos experimentalmente nas três zonas do reator RD. A parte experimental foi, portanto, uma das partes principais do presente trabalho, conjuntamente com a concepção do modelo computacional e suas validações industriais. Com o METCARB, as previsões acerca da metalização e carburização simultâneas, em qualquer região interna do forno, se tornou possível, utilizando como entradas as dimensões do forno, medidas de temperaturas, composições dos gases, etc. Os resultados de metalização e carburização, também em formato gráfico, são gerados pelo sistema computacional, bem como as curvas cronométricas e tabelas de resultados. Estudos sobre dois casos reais foram realizados, a fim de validarem a ferramenta computacional desenvolvida. Constatou-se que a carburização do ferro metálico sempre ocorre simultaneamente com a redução dos óxidos de ferro e que, dependendo da temperatura e composição dos gases, pode ocorrer precipitação de finos de carbono. As simulações realizadas com o modelo METCARB mostraram que na periferia da ZR é gerado um DRI mais metalizado que na região do centro.
