The symbolic richness in Méndez Ferrín's work presents a series of special features that make it ideal material for undertaking a multidisciplinary and cross-sectional analysis: being a canonical author, his work has great repercussions on Galician culture, and he is also an author that consciously participates in shaping the literary system. Openly adhering to a Celtic and Atlantic coast tradition, Ferrín’s texts are receptive to and reveal diverse influences. The result is a macro-text woven together with auto-references, chronotopes, characters and situations that confer upon it a remarkable coherence. The application of the mythocritic methodology, founded by Gilbert Durand, as proposed in this thesis, makes it possible not only to obtain an unprecedented perspective of Méndez Ferrín's work, but also introduces this critical perspective into the Galician literary system, in which it has not been applied until now. Using this tool, we can access a synchronous perception of the literary discourse, treated as a mythical tale (the sermo mythicus). By applying Durand’s method, two principal myths are identified, which dialogue with each other in Ferrín’s pages and dispute the sacred power (therapeutic and foudational) of the logos. The first revolves around the myth of Oedipus, who solves the riddle of the Sphinx (sent by the goddess), thus saving the “wasteland” of Thebes, to which he is then appointed king, whence begins an intense search for the origins, in other words, a quest for identity. As a counterpoint to the Oedipus myth, the myth of Hermes unfolds in his multiple facets as communicator and mediator, Psychopomp, Trismegistus, etc. who speaks not to dominate through the temporal and earthly power, but to convey a message, to reach beyond death, allowing rebirth and multiplication. The projection of this mythical theme in the field of literary communication suggests the construction of an author who is implicitly seeking , by means of the macro- text, a multiple and diverse readership that recreates the message upon every individual reading, thus symbolising the spread of the creative essence that transcends time and space. 2. Marquez, Guilherme Repeza.

Degree: 2017, Federal University of Uberlândia

The Brazilian tomato cropping has been revealed an increased on the demand for hybrids with determinate growth habit, for in natura consumption. However, there are no many researches aiming to develop genotypes resistant to pests, for in natura consumption. Nowadays, the main strategy for pest control, in tomato cropping, is the chemical control. Given the growing preference for tomato cultivars with determinate growth habit, allied with the susceptibility to the pests that most of the tomato cultivars present, it is necessary to intensify research aimed at contributing to a more sustainable agriculture. Facing that, the objective of this experiment was to select tomato genotypes, of Santa Cruz type, with determinate growth habit and high acylsugars content, showing satisfactory resistance levels to two-spotted spider mites Tetranychus urticae Koch (Tetranychidae). The genetic material was obtained from the germplasm bank of UFU and it is a part of Tomato Breeding Program of the university. The segregating populations that were evaluated…

The genetic material was obtained from the germplasm bank of UFU and it is a part of Tomato Breeding Program of the university. The segregating populations that were evaluated were, previously, obtained from an interespecific cross between the pre-commercial line UFU-040 (Solanum lycopersicum L.) versus wild access LA-716 (Solanum pennellii) and, it is in the F2BC2 generation. The genotypes were evaluated for acylsugars content, trichome density on both abaxial and adaxial surfaces and a bioassay test, in order to determinate the resistance to the spider mites, was done. The genotype UFU-102-F2BC2#13, that has determinate growth habit, presented high acylsugars content. Besides that, this genotype and also the UFU-96- F2BC2#7 highlighted for resistance to the mite. In tomato crops with determinate habit, in F2BC2 generation, it was possible to obtain a genotype similar to the wild access S. pennellii, for acylsugars content, being this a promising material for tomato breeding programs. Keywords: Allelochemical, biotic stress, arthropod-pests, growth habit, self-pruning gene.
