1. Erica Moraes de Souza. nfluence of the woodworkability parameters of Eucalyptus sp. wood in specific energy consumption for cutting in circular saw.

New technologies used in the cutting of Eucalyptus sp. for the carbonization continuous process require care. The choice of tool and cutting speeds and feed influence on reducing the time and cost of energy during processing, optimizing its production. The objective was to verify the influence of the woodworkability parameters on specific energy spent cutting timber clones of Eucalyptus sp., MN 463 and VM 01, Company V &M Florestal. The tests were developed in the Laboratory of Woodworkability, Department of Forest Sciences, Universidade Federal de Lavras (DCF/UFLA). Were used logs of 1,70 m in length with less than 30 days of slaughter, considered to be green, and with more than 90 days, considered to be dry. The experiment was a 3 x 3 x 4 x 2 (speed cutting x speed feed x number of teeth x moisture) and 3 x 3 x 4 x 1 for the MN 463 and VM 01, respectively. Were evaluated the specific energy consumption of cutting of wood for each interaction. The results were submitted to analysis of variance and means compared by Tukey test at 5% significance level. More speeds cutting, lower speeds feed, circular saw with 40 teeth and clone MN 463 consumed greater amount of specific energy.
