▼ This study examined the relationship between learner involvement, outdoor recreation, grades and environmental attitudes. Specifically the study was of a collegiate level course entitled Outdoor Recreation and Environmental Awareness. The specific research questions addressed in this study were: 1. What are the interrelationships among college student perceptions of the pedagogical dimensions of a course, their grades and their environmental attitudes? 2. How do the aforementioned relationships vary with respect to students’ self-reported participation in outdoor recreation? 3. How do the aforementioned relationships vary with respect to selected demographic variables (e.g., age, gender, academic classification and academic major)? This study used an exploratory correlational design to examine the relationships between student perceptions of course design variables (pedagogical dimensions) and cognitive outcomes, as indicated by course grades, and affective outcomes, as measured by environmental attitudes. In addition to exploring relationships among college student perceptions of the pedagogical dimensions of a course, their grades, and their environmental attitudes, the nature of relationships found was examined in light of several other variables, including self-reported participation in outdoor recreation, and several demographic variables (e.g. gender, academic classification, and academic major). Overall, students perceived the course to be less constructivist and more instructivist, but only slightly so. (In other words, students were slightly less likely to see the course as one in which they were more actively engaged in how they learned). Correlational data suggested a modest positive relationship between scores on the Pedagogical Dimensions of Interactive Learning (PDIL) and New Ecological Paradigm (NEP) measures, but the relationship was not statistically significant and subsequent regression analyses, controlling for the influence of pretest NEP scores, resulted in little additional variance in NEP post scores attributable to the PDIL or other variables. Further research should attempt to incorporate a larger number of participants, refine the measure further, and perhaps compare students from a variety of disciplines in order to examine a more heterogeneous population.

▼ Balancing conservation goals and needs of local residents is always challenging. While some believe protected areas are a safe paradise for wildlife, others suggest that it is shortsighted to ignore the social and economic challenges faced by people who live adjacent to protected areas when addressing conservation objectives. This dissertation explores the link between biodiversity conservation and environmental education programs (EEPs) administered to residents of buffer zones adjacent to three protected areas in the Terai Arc Landscape, Nepal. Using surveys and interviews, this study examined 1) the influence of EEPs on attitudes of local people toward biodiversity conservation; 2) the influence of EEPs on conservation behavior; 3) the responses toward biodiversity conservation of local people residing in buffer zones who have received different levels of EEPs; and 4) the effect of EEPs on wildlife populations within adjacent protected areas. Local people who had participated in EEPs and attended school were more likely to express a positive attitude toward conservation goals than participants who had not participated in EEPs or had the opportunity to attend school. Participation in EEPs and level of education favored expressed behavior toward conservation goals, such as making contributions for conservation or supporting anti-poaching patrols. However, EEP participants and non-participants were equally likely to engage in activities that were at odds with positive conservation behavior, such as collecting fuel wood or killing wildlife to protect their farm or feed their families. A direct comparison of EEPs given by schools versus non-government organizations showed that EEPs were largely ineffective in promoting positive conservation attitudes and behaviors. Despite heavy poaching of charismatic species such as the greater one-horned rhinoceros or tiger over past decades, Nepal recently celebrated ‘zero poaching years’ in 2011 and 2013, largely due to increased anti-poaching enforcement. The relationship between EEPs and the decline in poaching is unclear, although local officials all claimed that EEPs played an important role. These results indicate that current administration of EEPs in Terai buffer zone communities is inadequate, while also providing evidence that properly administrated EEPs may become a valuable investment for these protected areas to achieve long-term success.

▼ Population in the world is creasing. When humans destroy the environment, problems like global warming and energy shortage occur. In order to solve these problems that, each government is dedicated to sustaining development of whole environment. At the same time, the green energy industry appears on the horizon suddenly since it is energy-efficient and helps to protect the environment. There is excellent ICT and R&D technical industry in Taiwan so that it generates good basic of the electric motorcycle industry. Compared to motorcycle, electric motorcycles aim at cutting energy and carbon dioxide emissions, electric motorcycles are vastly superior to other kinds of motorcycles. But the market share of the electric motorcycle is still not well which means that customers are not still satisfied with electric motorcycles. Therefore the researcher infers that marketing electric motorcycles to the customers maybe show the resistance to the innovation.Â This research is based on the view of Ram&Sheth's theoretical framework in 1989 about some factors which cause innovation resistance. Including usage barrierãvalue barrierãrisk barrierãtradition barrierãnegative image barrier general named perception barriers. This uses relative papers to conduct questionnaire and survey so as to understand how the innovation resistance effect on customersâ choices about purchasing motorcycles. Besides, customersâ environmental attitude and their own conditions are also employed in this study to analysis the correlation in every dimension. Overall, the results show that motorcycle customersâ use barriers have both of positive and negative effect to their decision-making in purchasing. Value barriersãtraditional barriers and environmental attitude have no significant association with innovation resistance. Risk barriers have negative effect in innovation resistanceï¼Negative image barriers have positive effect in innovation resistance. The dimensions of population statistics variables including genderãageãeducation degree and career all have partial significance association with perception barriers, but not obviously significance with innovation resistance. Finally, this research attempts to give some suggestions for the electric motorcycle decision-making units. ▼ Since the Industrial Revolution, human beings have emitted huge amounts of greenhouse gases for economic growth, and greenhouse gases may influence climate. To slow down climate change, everyone has to take action. Recently, the carbon footprint (CF) labeling on products offers consumers an opportunity to do so in daily shopping. However, so far a CF label reveals only the amount of CO2 emitted during the product's life cycle, but not the product's relative CO2 emission level (i.e., whether the product emitted more or less CO2 than similar products). This study thus hypothesized that the mere presentation of a CF label would not affect consumers' buying intent. To test this and other related hypotheses, this study ran an experiment with 3 independent variables. The variables are amount of CO2 emitted (400gm or 750gm), CO2-saving signal (given or not given) and price (20 NTD or 30 NTD) of the product, which was a tetra-packed tea. In the CO2-saving signal given condition, the experimenter told the participants either that a green CF label denoted low CO2 emissions (in the 400gm condition) or that a green CF label denoted high CO2 emissions (in the 750gm condition). The label shown, in fact, was always green. In the CO2-saving signal not given condition, the experimenter did not explain the meaning of the label color.A convenient sample of 240 adults joined the experiment. They were randomly assigned to the experiment conditions. Each participant saw a picture of a tetra-packed tea with a CF label and listed price. Results showed that when CO2-saving signal was given, the low-CO2-high-price tea could induce higher buying intent than the high-CO2-low-price tea. When CO2-saving signal was not given, the two conditions did not differ in buying intent. Furthermore, participants' environmental attitudeâas measured a scale adapted from Dunlap and van Liere's (1978) New Environmental Paradigm Scaleâdid not qualify the above results. These findings suggest that CF label can neither help nor encourage people to choose low-CO2 products, unless it is complemented with a clear CO2-saving signal. ▼ Given that visitors to a nature-based festival are more likely to be exposed to the natural environment, it is important to combine consumer behavioral constructs with environmental attitudes. The purpose of this study was to extend festival research by examining the role of environmental attitude on individuals’ perception of and satisfaction with a nature-based festival. This study examined the role of environmental attitude in the Boryeong Mud Festival, which is the most popular nature-based festival in South Korea. A questionnaire was developed to measure four latent constructs (quality, perceived value, satisfaction, and behavioral intention) related to visitors’ evaluation of the festival and to investigate their environmental attitude by using the six-item NEP scale (Dunlap & Van Liere, 1978). In order to collect data, an on-site intercept survey was used with visitors who attended the 12th Boryeong Mud Festival from July 11th to 19th, 2009. Among 442 visitors who agreed to participate in the survey, 392 cases were used for the analyses. As a result, this study identified five quality dimensions of a nature-based festival: festival program, information service, festival product, convenient facilities, and natural environment. Also, festival visitors’ environmental attitude was documented with the six-item NEP scale and they were divided into a favorable environmental attitude group (FEAG) and a moderate environmental attitude group (MEAG). Using a multi-group mediation analysis, the impact of visitors’ environmental attitude on the interrelationships between quality, perceived value, satisfaction, and behavioral intention was examined. This study contributes to the tourism literature by providing empirical evidence that visitors differently perceive of the experience of a nature-based festival depending on their environmental attitude. From a marketing perspective, the results in this study can be beneficial to festival organizers in that they support any efforts taken by the industry to incorporate ecological messages within promotional efforts. The purpose of this research is to better understand the potential influences of fiction on environmental educators. Current research into pro-environmentally active people indicates that youthful exposure to the natural environment is the main motivator for pro-environmentalism. As urbanisation continues in our society, this exposure could become less available to many children, thus potentially leading to less pro-environmental behaviour. As many young people consume large amounts of television, books and internet, this presents the opportunity for utilizing these media as an alternative method of encouraging pro-environmental behaviour. This qualitative study used semi-structured interviews of 31 environmental educators from environmental education centres on the east coast of Australia to address the possible influence of fiction on their pro-environmental attitudes. It revealed that the participants recall predominantly fictional material from childhood, especially from the age ranges of 8 – 11 years, adolescence and early adulthood. There is a high recall of stories by J R R Tolkien, Enid Blyton and J K Rowling, and the highest number of listed books is from the category of Fantasy/SF and stories involving social issues. This study is different from previous reports into the influence books have had on environmental educators’ pro-environmental values, as it is concentrating on the potential influence of fiction rather than factual or scientific texts. While stories will never replace authentic childhood experiences in the natural environment for influencing pro-environmental attitude formation, they are a valuable element in teaching strategies as audiences often accept information from stories. Stories are important as they are an aspect of previously recognised pro-environmental influence that can be manipulated by children’s teachers and carers and may reduce the reported increasing occurrences of Eco-phobia and Nature Deficit Disorder.

▼ Environmental problems such as air and water pollution, solid waste and climate changes in urban areas are the results of human behavior. Only change in human behavior can reduce these environmental problems. Thus, studying the level of students’ environmental awareness, attitude and intension is an entry point to change this situation among the young generations. Therefore, the objective of the study is to find out students’ level of awareness, attitude and intension in relation to urban environmental problems. As a methodology both secondary and primary data, quantitative and qualitative data have been used. Using stratified sampling method 350 preparatory students were selected for the study. The data were analyzed by using descriptive and inferential statistics. The research findings indicate that the majority of the students hold moderate level of environmental awareness, favorable attitude and found to have an intension to contribute for environmental improvement. There is no difference in students’ environmental awareness, attitude and intension based on gender and grade level. Relatively higher age groups were found to have better awareness and more favorable attitude, but their intension is the same. Social science students were found to have more favorable attitude and better intension than natural science students, but they are similar in their awareness. Students in the missionary school were found to have more favorable attitude and intension to contribute for environmental protection than private and government schools, but students from private school were found to have better awareness. There was a weak positive bivariate correlation among students’ environmental awareness, attitude and intension. And the predicative power of one dependent variable over the other is also weak. School subjects are the major source of environmental information. Based on the findings it was recommended that, in order to increase students’ environmental awareness, attitude and intension curricula have to be developed in a participatory approach by including the needs and priorities of students and the linkage between schools and the community should be strong. ▼ The main objective of this study was to examine the factors that influence women's attitudes towards buying skin care products and their intentions regarding buying the products. The study examined whether health consciousness, environmental consciousness and appearance consciousness had an impact on women's attitudes toward buying skin care products. The study also examined if health consciousness, environmental consciousness and appearance consciousness, attitudes towards buying organic products, subjective norm and perceived behavioral control had an impact on purchase intention towards buying organic skin care products. The participants were recruited through Facebook and the study was only based on answers from women. A multiple regression was done to test if the independent variables in the study significantly predicted attitude and purchase intention of organic skin care products. The result showed that health consciousness and environmental consciousness had impact on women's attitude towards buying skin care products. The results also showed that health consciousness, attitude toward buying skin care products, subjective norm and perceived behavioral control showed significant impact on purchase intention to buy organic skin care products. Based on the results it can be concluded that health consciousness and environmental consciousness can predict attitudes towards buying organic skin care products.; Meginmarkmið rannsóknarinnar var að athuga hvort ákveðnir þættir hefðu áhrif á viðhorf og kaupáform kvenna á lífrænum húðvörum. Þátttakendur voru fengnir í gegnum Facebook og er rannsóknin einungis byggð á svörum frá konum. Marghliða aðhvarfsgreining var gerð til þess að kanna hvernig frumbreyturnar í rannsókninni spá fyrir viðhorfi og kaupáformi á lífrænum húðvörum. Niðurstöður sýndu að meðvitund um heilsu og umhverfi höfðu marktæk áhrif á viðhorf kaupa á lífrænum húðvörum. Niðurstöður sýndu einnig að meðvitund um heilsu, viðhorf til kaupa á lífrænum húðvörum, huglægt viðmið og skynjuð stjórn á hegðun sýndu marktæk áhrif á kaupáform kvenna á lífrænum húðvörum. Út frá niðurstöðum rannsóknarinnar má álykta að meðvitund um heilsu og umhverfi hefur áhrif á viðhorf kvenna á kaupum á lífrænum húðvörum.

▼ Louisiana’s coast is losing land due to erosion at the startling rate of approximately 24 square miles per year (Lockwood & Gray, 2005). Coastal erosion has serious implications for human safety and Louisiana’s economy. There are many environmental education programs throughout coastal regions of the United States that educate school children about coastal issues. LSU Coastal Roots (CR) is one such program. Students at approximately 40 participating schools raise native plants in nurseries at their school and then travel to a restoration site to transplant their plants. The goal CR is to build an attitude of stewardship and awareness toward the coastal issues in student participants (Blanchard, 2007). CR and other coastal environmental programs would find value in a survey that assesses the effect their programs have on the attitudes of participants. Therefore, a 25-item Likert scale survey entitled Attitudes of Children toward Coastal Environmental Themes (ACCET) was developed by the researcher to measure middle school student attitudes toward five coastal environmental themes. The five themes are general, ecosystems, coastal erosion, human impacts, and resources. Participant responses can be scored for a total score and individual theme scores. Reading level of the ACCET falls within grades third through fifth. The ACCET has internal-consistency reliability (Chronbach’s alpha) of 0.87 and test-retest reliability of 0.64. The ACCET was administered to students at five CR schools at the beginning of the school year and again after their participation in their restoration-planting trip to examine changes in student attitude. Students in two control schools were also administered the ACCET survey. The results were analyzed using inferential and descriptive statistics. The CR schools scored significantly higher on the ACCET than the control schools on both the pre- and post-surveys, which may indicate that participation in the CR program has a positive impact on participant attitudes. However, a significant difference was not found between pre- and post-surveys for the treatment group. Therefore, it is recommended that the ACCET not be used as a survey to examine changes in attitudes, but rather should be used to as a general measure of attitude toward coastal environments.

▼ In the United States, aquaculture receives varying degrees of support based on individuals’ perceptions of the industry. This study analyzes the factors that contribute to those perceptions; namely, message type, affect, political orientation, and environmental attitude. We collected data through a nationwide survey, distributed by Qualtrics, which recruited a representative sample of U.S. residents. The survey included multiple-choice, Likert scale, and open-ended questions regarding individual characteristics (e.g., age, income, political orientation, etc.) and opinions on aquaculture. In order to study message type, we employed four experimental conditions (narrative video, narrative text, infographic video, and text) and one control group with no message. Affect was measured using the Linguistic Inquiry and Word Count (LIWC) software program. Finally, environmental attitude was determined using Dunlap et al.’s (2000) 15-item version of the New Environmental Paradigm (NEP). Results from this study suggest that the infographic and narrative video were most effective in eliciting responses regarding perceived benefits of aquaculture. We found that the control group had the lowest rates of aquaculture benefit responses, indicating that it is better to use some sort of stimuli than none at all. Mirroring findings from previous research on aquaculture perceptions (Feucht & Zander, 2015; Freeman et al., 2012; Rickard et al., 2018; Rickard et al., 2020; Schlag & Ystgaard, 2013; Vanhonacker et al., 2011), we also found these results to be an indicator of individuals’ generally low level of awareness and knowledge surrounding aquaculture. Additionally, findings suggest that the narrative video was somewhat off-putting to participants, as there were increased rates of negative emotion among those who watched the narrative video. Lastly, results showed that an individual’s environmental attitude is associated with a greater likelihood of mentioning general aquaculture benefits, as well as environmental benefits. Alternatively, findings indicate that political ideology does not predict an individual’s views on aquaculture– which we speculate might be due to aquaculture not yet having gained the same degree of politicization as other environmental issues in the public sphere within the U.S. (e.g., climate change). Looking forward, these findings could encourage aquaculture advocates to gear outreach efforts toward individuals with higher environmental-consciousness and be further encouraged in their efforts, as perceptions do not appear to be politically saturated. Researchers might further investigate the influence of message type by employing more conditions with varying length, message, and speaker. Future research might also employ path analysis to explore how perceptions of aquaculture are influenced by different message types, political orientation, and environmental attitude, in both direct and indirect ways. ▼ Green bonds are a type of bonds that are designated for investment projects that have a positive effect on the environment. Such projects could be preventing climate change by reducing emissions of greenhouse gases, increasing energy-efficiency, or improving waste management. Green bonds have risen considerably in issued volume in recent years. Sweden has been one of the forerunners in this development and the interest towards these products seems to be high among individual Swedish investors. Initially, investors in green bonds have been mainly financial institutions, but there are an increasing number of mutual funds, which are aimed for retail banking customers as well. Previous research in socially responsible investing has not paid attention to green bonds from the perspective of the private, individual investor. This study is aimed to study potential individual green bond investors in Sweden. The purpose of this study was to answer the research question of who the typical Swedish green bond investors are, based on demographic characters. As research sub-questions, the thesis also answered questions regarding perceived risk and return on green bonds, and the effect of environmental attitude and behaviour on potential green bond investments. The study was carried out as an Internet survey by means of a questionnaire directed to Swedish investors. In total, 66 respondents answered the survey, which was analysed by bivariate and multivariate methods. Among the demographic factors, two were found statistically significant, age, and parenthood. In this sample younger investors (age less than 39), were found to prefer investing in green bonds, compared to older investors. Secondly, the fact of being a non-parent turned out to be a distinctive feature of current and potential investors in green bonds. The results regarding the first research sub-question, showed that the individual investors do not perceive green bonds to be more or less risky or give more or less return than comparable conventional bonds. The second research sub-question regarding environmental attitude and behaviour, showed a significant difference between those who showed a strong pro-environmental behaviour, as opposed to those who showed a weaker pro-environmental behaviour. The conclusion about the influence of environmental attitudes was that it did not have an effect on potential green bond investments.

▼ Human and environmental well-being is the main goal of sustainable development. Quality of Life (QoL) which is often used to measure human well-being, constitutes existential factors, but excludes attributes of people and local environment. In the absence of people’s perception towards the environment and satisfaction associated with environmental features, QoL remains an incomplete expression of human well-being. This study includes attributes of people and environment and has defined a new QoL metric – environmental QoL (QoLe) – to measure progress towards sustainability at neighbourhood scale. The QoLe model includes environmental attributes, perceived neighbourhood satisfaction and environmental attitudes of people, and explores the relationships between them. The testing of the model involved field work in an ecologically sustainable development (ESD) and a conventional neighbourhood from south-east Queensland, Australia. In the ESD, protection and enhancement of the natural environment was emphasised and the built environment is designed to be environment friendly and sustainable. Majority of the residents demonstrated a Preservation (pro environmental) attitude and expressed an overall high level of satisfaction with their neighbourhood. The conventional neighbourhood lacked sustainable planning and design features. Majority of the residents demonstrated a Utilisation (pro-utilitarian) attitude and they were relatively less satisfied with their neighbourhood environment quality. The QoLe allows exploration of congruity/ incongruity between neighbourhood environmental quality and the level of satisfaction associated with them. It will provide policy planners, developers and designers with an understanding of the conflicting interests between the neighbourhood environment quality and individuals’ expectations based on their environmental attitudes. The study highlights that environmental and human well-being requires people-environment congruity.

▼ Green marketing is now recognised amongst academics as a reputable area of study and conventional marketing has taken a step back as green marketing comes into prominence in the fight against unsustainability. A number of organisations are using green marketing as a tool to differentiate their market offerings from those of their competitors in an effort to gain a strong position in today’s markets. These organisations are seeking to exploit consumers‟ growing environmental concerns and increasing green purchase intentions in order to acquire market share in the newly developed green consumer markets. The Generation Y cohort, born between 1986 and 2005, are the most technologically astute generation to date. When segmenting the Generation Y cohort, the black Africans hold the majority share, comprising 84 percent of the Generation Y cohort and approximately 32 percent of the entire South African population. Owing to its sheer size, the black Generation Y cohort presents as an attractive and lucrative market segment, especially those who hold a tertiary education. Individuals who pursue a higher education are linked to higher future earning potential. The primary objective of this study was to propose and empirically test a model of the antecedents of black Generation Y students‟ green purchase behaviour within the South African context. The proposed model suggests that environmental knowledge, subjective norms, and perceived behaviour control have a direct positive influence on environmental attitude, which, in turn, has a direct positive influence on green purchase intentions. Moreover, the model infers that green purchase intensions have a direct positive influence on environmental purchase behaviour, while accounting for the mediating effects of perceived price (price) and perceived quality (quality). The sampling frame for the study comprised the 25 public registered HEIs situated in South Africa. From this initial list of 25 registered institutions, a judgement sample of four institutions in the Gauteng province was chosen, of which two included country-based universities and two city-based universities. Of the four universities, two were traditional universities, one a university of technology and one comprehensive university. Lecturers at each of the four campuses were contacted and asked if they would act as gatekeepers to the student participants. A convenience sample of 500 students across these four campuses was taken in 2014. Of the questionnaires completed, 332 were usable. The statistical analysis of the collected data included exploratory factor analysis, descriptive statistical analysis, correlation analysis, structural equation modelling and independent sample t-tests. The findings of this study indicate that South African black Generation Y students are knowledgeable about the environment, consider the opinions of their peers regarding the environment, perceive their actions as having a positive effect on the environment and display strong pro-environmental attitudes towards the environment.…

▼ Anthropogenic climate change is currently one of the biggest threats facing the human population across the globe. Most Americans, however have little understanding of this threat, and as a result may be ill-prepared to make important personal and societal decisions necessary to deal with it. This dissertation explores the practicality, usefulness, and effectiveness of metaphors as a means of enhancing public understanding of climate change. Three sequential studies were conducted to develop, test, and refine a set of science, metaphorical, and ‘science + metaphorical’ explanations of four basic climate change concepts: the frequency of extreme weather events; the increasing rate of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere; the enhanced greenhouse effect; and the difference between weather and climate. In the first study, in-depth interviews were conducted with experts (n = 12) to explore the adequacy of the ‘science + metaphorical’ explanations of the climate concepts, each expressed in approximately 520 to 650 word essay. Overall, the experts were intrigued by the metaphors and viewed them as a promising way to explain and connect to lay audiences. The expert feedback was used to revise each of the explanatory essays. In the second study, in-depth interviews were conducted with non-scientists (n = 30) to explore how helpful and clear the essays were to a lay audience. The non-expert participants identified the metaphors as helpful to their understanding of the topic climate change concept. While the non-experts appeared more confident in explaining climate change after reading the short essays, the metaphors were infrequently rearticulated in their improved and more detailed explanations. The essays were edited again to clarify points of confusion identified in these interviews. The third study was an experiment which members of the public (n = 1523) were randomly assigned to read about one climate change concept explained using one of three explanation types (science only, metaphor only, or ‘science + metaphor’). There was some evidence that the ‘science + metaphor’ explanations worked as hypothesized in improving participants’ understanding and increasing belief certainty that climate change is happening. However, the differences observed between explanation types for the four climate change concepts were mostly non-significant. In total, the results of this dissertation suggest that metaphors may be useful in explaining climate change concepts to lay audiences. Esta pesquisa, desenvolvida no Programa de Pós-Graduação em Educação Ambiental da Universidade Federal do Rio Grande – PPGEA FURG –, foi configurada a partir da Mandala Reflexiva com o objetivo de visualizar o seguinte problema socioambiental: o desconhecimento dos impactos da aplicação da gestão ambiental e da Educação Ambiental hoje. O foco da análise neste estudo de caso foi o Programa de Educação Ambiental do Governo de Minas: AmbientAÇÃO. A questão principal de pesquisa foi assim expressa: Em que medida o discurso e a prática do Programa AmbientAÇÃO anunciam o ideal expresso no conceito de formação da atitude ecológica? Esse conceito foi desenvolvido por Carvalho (2004). Como subquestões de pesquisa, foram investigados: Qual é o discurso oficial de Educação Ambiental do Programa?, Qual é a proposta de avaliação utilizada pelo Programa? e, A formação da atitude ecológica pode ser observada no relato dos servidores?. Como metodologia para análise crítica de vários aspectos do AmbientAÇÃO, como seu discurso, o material, a visão dos gestores e dos servidores envolvidos, foram realizadas a análise documental da cartilha do Programa, entrevistas com dois gestores, três integrantes de comissões setoriais e com oito servidores do Governo de Minas. A análise dos dados foi com base na técnica análise do discurso. Os resultados indicam que o discurso do Programa expressa uma Educação Ambiental voltada para a disciplinarização do comportamento na Cidade Administrativa enquanto a prática do Programa demonstra intenções de ir além, o que pode ser percebido no relato de alguns dos envolvidos.

This research, developed in Postgraduate Program in Environmental Education at the Federal University of Rio Grande – PPGEA FURG –, was set based on the Reflective Mandala having as its goal to visualize the following socioenvironmental problem: the ignorance on the impacts of the application of environmental management and Environmental Education nowadays. The focus in this case study analysis was the Program of Environmental Education from Minas Government: AmbientAÇÃO. The main issue of the research was expressed as following: In what measure the discourse and practice of the AmbientAÇÃO Program announce the ideal expressed in the concept of ecological attitude formation? This concept was developed by Carvalho (2004). As sub-questions of the research were investigated: What is the official discourse of Environmental Education in the Program?, What is the evaluation proposal used by the Program?, and Can the formation of Ecological Attitude be observed in the employees sayings?. As methodology having in mind the critical analysis of many aspects of AmbientAÇÃO, such as its discourse, material, managers and employees vision, the documental analysis of the Program’s primer, interviews with two managers, three members of sectorial committees and eight employees of the government took place.
