▼ The Judicial Complaints Authority is a statutory body established pursuant to the provisions of the Judicial (Code of Conduct) Act, No. 13 of 1999. Its primary function is to receive and investigate complaints made against judicial officers and thereafter submit its recommendations to "the appropriate authority". The decision of the High Court in the case of Faustin Kabwe and Others v Judicial Complaints Authority confirmed this position. The purpose of this research is to examine whether the mandate of the Judicial Complaints Authority as set out under the Judicial (Code of Conduct) Act and espoused in the Faustin Kabwe case clothe it with sufficient power to act as an effective check on the Judicature of Zambia exercise of judicial power. This research first introduces importance of the notions of separation of powers and checks and balances that the need for the judiciary to be subject to checks and balances. It also illustrates the problem that stems from the fact that the mandate of the Authority is merely investigative and there is thus little shift in power and function as compared to the position before the establishment of the Authority thereby still rendering the judiciary subject to the whims of an arbitrary executive. This research further analyses the functions and mandate of the Judicial Complaints Authority and the decision in the Faustin Kabwe case and its import. In addition, this research engages in a detailed exposition of the link between the notions of separation of powers, checks and balances and independence of the judiciary as well as an examination the nexus between the notion of checks and balances with the functions and mandate of the Judicial Complaints Authority. This is followed by an analysis of the functions and mandate of bodies carrying out similar functions as the Judicial Complaints Authority in Zambia and within the Commonwealth was undertaken. Comparison was made with the Parliamentary and Ministerial Code of Conduct Tribunal in Zambia and the National Judicial Council in Nigeria and the Kenyan Judicial Service Commission. The research concluded by illustrating that the functions and mandate of the Judicial Complaints Authority as they presently stand render the Judicial Complaints Authority and inefficient and ineffective player in furthering the achievement of effective checks on the judiciary. This research further outlined some recommendations that can be implemented in order to enhance the efficacy of the Authority as a check on the judicial power and superintendent of the Judicial Code of Conduct. These recommendations include; the setting of a specific time frame within which the Authority must undertake and complete its inquiry, vesting the Authority with the power to mete out sanctions, the making of the Authority's recommendations binding on the President, the specification of sanctions the Authority may impose and empowering the Authority to commence an inquiry of its own motion.

Num mercado cada vez mais global, o consumidor tornou-se cada vez mais exigente, activo, curioso, contribuindo para que este quando se encontra em situações de insatisfação procure novas experiências de compra, não se limitando e contentando apenas com a primeira experiência adquirida. Neste sentido, a realização deste trabalho no âmbito da tese do Mestrado de Gestão tem como objectivo a análise e a elaboração de relatórios que permitam identificar os motivos de reclamação dos clientes numa empresa de telecomunicações móveis. Terá ainda, como objectivo identificar os principais factores de insatisfação dos clientes quer com a forma de resolução dada à sua reclamação, quer com a própria empresa, que comercializa o serviço prestado. Após a análise detalhada da satisfação dos clientes, irá ser efectuado um plano de propostas para melhorar a satisfação dos mesmos relativamente às formas de resolução. Cada vez mais, as reclamações devem ser vistas como algo que acrescenta valor para a empresa no sentido, em que estas fornecem informações importantes sobre a percepção que o cliente tem sobre o serviço que lhe foi prestado. Através destas informações, e quando analisadas, permitirá à empresa melhorar a sua performance e a sua maneira de se relacionar com o cliente. A análise mais detalhada das reclamações permite à empresa identificar a área a que se refere a reclamação e a sua causa. Por estas razões e devido às novas exigências do consumidor do futuro é cada vez mais importante que as empresas conheçam a opinião dos seus clientes, quer estes sejam clientes satisfeitos ou insatisfeitos, antecipando-se e dando resposta às suas necessidades.

In an increasingly global market, the consumer has become more and more demanding, active, curious, thus contributing to - whenever he or she feels dissatisfied – the search for new shopping experiences, without being stuck to or totally satisfied with just his or her first experience achieved. From this standpoint, this work under the thesis of Master of Management aims analysing and elaborating reports which will allow to identify the reasons for customer complaints in a mobile telecommunication company. In addition, it also aims at identifying the main factors which contribute to customer dissatisfaction either in the way his or her complaint has been fulfilled or with the company which provides the service. After a detailed analysis of customer satisfaction, a plan with proposals about how to improve his or her satisfaction concerning the ways of resolution will be made. Increasingly, complaints should be seen as something that adds value to the company in the sense that they provide important information about the perception the client has on the service that was rendered to him or her. Through this information, and analyzed will allow the company to improve its performance and its way of relating to the client. ▼ The transition from childhood to adolescence coincides with an increase in anxiety, a peak in somatic complaints, and a post-pubertal rise in depression by mid-adolescence, particularly for girls. For those affected, internalising difficulties result in considerable stress and impairment for the young person even if symptoms do not reach criteria for clinical diagnosis. Up to 50% of all adult psychological disorders have their onset during adolescence, highlighting the importance of identifying methods of prevention that are evidence-based. Emotional competence has been found to be an important protective factor for healthy social, emotional, and behavioural functioning. Both adolescents and adults with internalising difficulties show deficits in aspects of emotional competence. Research in child development suggests that parents’ emotional competence and emotion socialisation practices are related to children’s emotional functioning, including child internalising difficulties. This research has not yet been translated into intervention or prevention programs targeting parents of adolescents. The current study examined the efficacy of the Tuning in to Teens parenting program in improving emotion socialisation practices in parents of pre-adolescents and in measuring the impact on youth internalising difficulties. Grounded in emotion socialisation theory, this program teaches parents skills in responding to emotions in ways that enhance emotional competence in the young person, while also improving parent-youth communication and connectedness. A group-randomised control design was used where participants were recruited from schools and randomised into intervention and control conditions. Data were collected from 225 parents and 224 youth during the young person’s final year of elementary school (6th grade) and again, 10 months later in their first year of secondary school (7th grade). The thesis includes three studies. Study 1 reports the results of multilevel analyses, which showed participation in Tuning in to Teens resulted in significant improvements in parental emotion socialisation and reductions in youth internalising difficulties for the intervention condition. Study 2 examined moderators and mediators of program outcome. Results showed greater program effects for intervention subgroups with high pre-intervention difficulties. Parental education, income, parental internalising difficulties, parental difficulties in emotion awareness and regulation, and attendance rate did not moderate program effects. Mediation analyses supported emotion socialisation theory and showed parents who participated in the Tuning in to Teens parenting program reported improvements in emotion socialisation, which in turn was related to reductions in youth internalising difficulties. Study 3 investigated the relationship between parent emotion socialisation and youth somatic complaints. ▼ This dissertation examines the establishment of state institutions, the role of state agents, and the emergence of a self-conscious, municipally-based civil society in northern Patagonia in the six decades after it was conquered and incorporated into Argentina. In Patagonia, the Argentine government embarked on an ambitious project of forging a society from above, by creating new state institutions and encouraging new settlement. But these ambitions soon ran aground thanks to limited funding and political gridlock. What emerged instead was a ramshackle combination of authoritarian central administration with significant local autonomy that I call the “skeletal state.” Underfunded police officers, an overworked judiciary, and aloof governors made up the state presence in the frontier, with courts playing a central role as guarantors of social order. The “skeletal state” arrangement became remarkably resilient, as state agents proved flexible in overcoming scarce resources and institutional fragility, establishing legitimacy through legal action and ad-hoc extralegal responses to settler demands. The effectiveness of the “skeletal state” was intrinsically linked to the settler’s need for it, as both developed simultaneously.Chapter One details the establishment, interaction, and trajectory of state institutions, looking closely at how state agents learned to operate within and beyond the system’s constraints. Chapter Two looks at how local and regional authorities attempted to discipline and acculturate the surviving indigenous population of the region. Prejudices, suspicion, and exigency shaped how state agents treated individuals perceived as indigenous, even as they tolerated the survival of indigenous communities in remote rural areas. Chapter Three follows the arrival of immigrants from Chile, Europe, and the Middle East to northern Patagonia, tracing their settlement patterns and the uncertain process by which they resisted, subverted, and sometimes allied themselves with the state. Chapter Four centers on family conflicts to explore how private affairs affected public perception of individuals, and the consequences of these conflicts on reputation-based social networks, which were critical to accessing justice in the frontier. Chapter Five examines the emergence of a municipal political identity (“vecino”) which was tirelessly cultivated by prominent and plebeian settlers alike. Vecinos, and the social networks they built, were a restraint on state power—blocking investigations, filing complaints against “bad police,” and agitating in the national press, providing resources and infrastructure for police to operate, acting as justices of the peace, housing runaways, and collaborating in investigations. Chapter Six surveys cases of the illegal practice of medicine to argue that these social networks were ultimately used to challenge the legitimacy of state-appointed authorities on the frontier, as communities banded together to defend healers and uncertified doctors against state prosecution.The…

O cirurgião dentista é constantemente exposto a um elevado número de doenças ocupacionais. Alterações no sistema musculoesquelético são freqüentes, principalmente nos membros superiores e coluna vertebral, que podem interferir negativamente, na capacidade funcional desses profissionais. O objetivo deste trabalho é contribuir para o entendimento das doenças ocupacionais associadas ao sistema musculoesquelético relacionado à coluna vertebral dos odontólogos, durante sua atividade laboral, bem como as questões psicossociais associadas. Este documento contempla uma sequência de dois artigos sobre as condições de trabalho e desordens musculoesqueléticas relacionadas à coluna vertebral em dentistas. O primeiro apresenta uma revisão teórica sobre a atividade laboral dos dentistas, evidenciando os problemas relacionados à coluna vertebral, à carga de trabalho, aos riscos biomecânicos, às principais patologias e fatores psicossociais associados. Desta maneira, se evidenciou que estes profissionais estão sujeitos a uma alta carga de trabalho e desenvolvendo posturas que comprometem a integridade da coluna vertebral gerando dor e incapacidade para o trabalho. O segundo apresenta um método de análise e um estudo aplicado para investigar as desordens musculoesqueléticas relacionadas à coluna vertebral e fatores associados às condições ocupacionais de dentistas. Este artigo explicita as regiões da coluna vertebral mais acometida por queixas musculoesqueléticas e fatores associados. O método investigativo proposto mostrou que os problemas concernentes ao trabalho dos dentistas estão provocando dores e alterações musculoesqueléticas na região da coluna vertebral e são devidos principalmente à postura de trabalho, o esforço físico, os movimentos repetitivos e carga horária de trabalho.

The dental surgeon is constantly exposed to a large number of occupational illnesses. Alterations in the musculoskeletal system are frequent, especially in the upper limbs and spine, which can interfere negatively in the functional capacity of these professionals. The aim of this study is to contribute to the understanding of occupational diseases associated to the musculoskeletal system. Mainly those related to the spine of dentists during their work activities as well as psychosocial issues. This document includes a sequence of two articles about the working conditions and musculoskeletal disorders related to the spine of dentists. The first one presents a theoretical review about labor activity of dentists, highlighting the problems related to the spine, the workload, the biomechanical risks, the major pathologies and psychosocial factors associated. In this way, it is evidenced that these professionals are subject to a high workload and developing postures that compromise the integrity of the spine causing pain and inability to work. ▼ Abstract The aim of the study was to evaluate the usefulness of customer satisfaction surveys and spontaneous customer feedback procedure in a university hospital laboratory. Questionnaires containing closed-ended statements and an open-ended question were used in the customer satisfaction surveys targeted at the clinical units of the university hospital and regional health centres. Customer feedback documents including the subject matters of the reports, the investigations carried out and the actions taken were analysed using qualitative content analysis. The highest dissatisfaction rates in the clinical units were recorded for computerised test requesting and reporting, turnaround times of tests, missing test results and the schedule of phlebotomy rounds. In addition, additional instructions were needed. The most common causes of dissatisfaction among regional health centres were related to electronic data transfer of laboratory test requests and reports between health centres and the university hospital laboratory, need of additional instructions for handling of samples and preparation patients for laboratory tests, problems with decentralised phlebotomy services to hospital outpatients, and unawareness of the schedule of some less common laboratory tests. Further clarifications with selected customers were needed to specify the causes of dissatisfaction. Erroneous, delayed and lacking test results were the most common errors or defects revealed in the investigations of the spontaneous customer feedback reports from both the clinical units and the external customers. The most common underlying causes of errors were unintended errors and non-compliance with operating instructions. Systematic errors were found in one-sixth of the cases. Corrective actions were carried out in three-fourths of the cases. Satisfaction survey can be used as a screening tool to identify topics of dissatisfaction. However, further clarifications are often needed to find out the customer-specific causes of dissatisfaction and to undertake targeted corrective actions. Every reported case of customer feedback should be investigated to find out possible errors and their underlying causes so that appropriate corrective actions can be taken.

The goal of marketing is to supply customers with products and services that satisfies their needs at a profit to the organisation. Several products and services achieve this goal, but instances where the customers' needs are not satisfied do exist, which leads to customer dissatisfaction. Total customer satisfaction is a noble but unrealistic goal. Customer dissatisfaction is a reality and a result of the purchasing process. Defensive marketing, which aims to retain existing customers, is an inseparable part of the effort of delivering unparalleled customer satisfaction. The retention of an existing customer is as important as obtaining new customers for the organisation, and will ensure the long term survival of the organisation. Customers are becoming increasingly sophisticated about the purchasing of products and services. The increase of the level of dissatisfaction experienced by customers when purchasing goods and services is mainly due to the increase in sophistication. Dissatisfaction is a primary cause of customer complaints and an integral part of the marketing cycle. Effective resolutions of customer complaints hold advantages for both the customer and the organisation and is vital to the long term survival of any organisation. The broad goals of the study are: To determine the level of customer satisfaction with their purchases of products and services. To determine customers' complaint behaviour. To determine organisations' responses to customer complaints. The methodology of the study takes the form of two separate empirical research designs, the first design examines customer's attitude towards complaining, and the second researches organisations' response to customer complaints, which is superseded by the theoretical overview of the topic. The empirical research is both exploratory and descriptive in nature. Data was obtained by means of questionnaires that were posted to customer respondent's resident in Gauteng and delivered to organisations in Johannesburg and Pretoria. The major findings of the study include: Customer dissatisfaction is the norm rather than the exception with the purchase of products and services. Regardless of the dissatisfaction experienced by customers, customers do not complain. Customers are not satisfied with the organisations' attempts in resolving their complaints. Organisations are aware of customer goals when complaining. Customers and organisations differ regarding the most effective manner in which to voice a complaint. Differences exist regarding satisfaction levels between product categories. The findings of the study compare with similar studies undertaken in other markets around the world.

Aprašyti pagrindinius studentų darbo kompiuteriu rodiklius 2. Įvertinti studentų sveikatos nusiskundimų ir darbo kompiuteriu sąsajas Darbo metodika. Tyrimo objektas – KTU informatikos fakulteto studentai (bakalauro studijos). Darbo kompiuteriu ir sveikatos sąsajos buvo tiriamos atliekant anoniminę anketinę apklausą. Tyrimas buvo vykdomas KTU elektronikos rūmų patalpose, paskaitų, seminarų bei pertraukų metu. Surinktos 272 respondentų užpildytos anketos (atitiko imties dydį). Duomenys buvo apdorojami SPSS 21.0 programa. Analizės metu buvo lyginami vidurkiai, skaičiuojami koreliacijos koeficientai ir galimybių santykiai. Rezultatai. Daugiausiai laiko prie kompiuterio studentai praleidžia laisvalaikio tikslais savaitgalį, o mažiausiai – taip pat savaitgalį, tačiau mokymosi tikslais. Vaikinų ir žemesnio kurso studentų grupės nurodė didesnę laisvalaikio trukmę. Laisvalaikiu studentai dažniausiai žiūri filmus (89,3 proc.), o mokymosi metu dirba programomis (97,1 proc.). Moterys dažniau lankosi pokalbių svetainėse, o vyrai ir žemesnio kurso studentai žaidžia žaidimus. Dauguma studentų laisvalaikio metu sėdi prie stalo. Šią pozą pasirinko didesnė vyrų dalis, o sėdėjimą ant kito baldo – didesnė dalis moterų. The aim of the research – to evaluate the peculiarities of informatics students working on the computer and its relationship to the health of Kaunas University of Technology. To achieve this aim the following objectives have been raised 1. To describe students’ working on the computer main indicators. 2. To assess students’ health complaints and computer interfaces. Methods of the present research. The subject of investigation is the students of the department of informatics of KTU (bachelor studies). Computer and health interfaces have been investigated by anonymous questionnaire survey. The study was carried out in the premises of Electronics House of KTU during lectures, seminars and breaks. There were taken 272 filled questionnaires (it matched the sample size). The taken data were processed by SPSS 21.0 program. In the present investigation there were compared the averages, calculated the coefficients of correlation and the ratios of odds. The results. The majority of time students spend at the weekend for their leisure at the computer, but at least – as well as the weekend but for the learning purposes. The groups of boys and lower course students had shown a higher proportion of leisure time. ▼ The police are a pillar in the administration of the criminal laws of any society. They occupy a central position in maintaining law and order, and in upholding individual rights of members of society. Like any institution in society, they cannot effectively carry out their mandate without support from other institutions and most importantly, from the public. It is for this reason that, an interactive relationship of co-operation between the police and the public is necessary to the efficiency of any police force. This interactive relationship is what is referred to as good police-public relations.It is observed with much regret that the standing of the Zambia Police in the public eye has deteriorated, and that police-public relations have to that extent been strained. In view of that, it is suggested in this essay that the creation Police Public Complaints Authority could provide a way of achieving better police-public relations, through checks on police actions.The paper will commence with a brief account of the evolution of the concept of policing in England, as well as a brief outline of the history of the Zambia Police. In addition, the role and place of police in society will be elucidated. Chapter Two proceeds to look at the relationship between the police and the public. It tackles the significance of ensuring that this relationship is one that fosters co-operation between the two, and also of accountability on the part of the police for their actions. It also looks at the factors that have led to public apathy towards the police, and hostility in the associations between the police and the public. Chapter Three will address the issue of public complaints against the police, their importance in terms of providing a check on police actions and enforcing discipline, and the avenues that have hitherto been available to the public in this context. It will also make critical analysis of the same. It presents the Police Public Complaints Authority as an enhanced way of ensuring police accountability to the public. Finally in Chapter Four, recommendations will be made on ways of improving the performance of the Police Public Complaints Authority.

Darbo tikslas: įvertinti gydytojų požiūrį į profesinę atsakomybę. Darbo uždaviniai: Nustatyti gydytojų informuotumą apie profesinės atsakomybės teisinį reguliavimą, įvertinti gydytojų požiūrį į profesines pareigas ir atsakomybę, nustatyti gydytojų nuomonę apie pacientų skundus ir profesinės atsakomybės bylų skaičiaus Lietuvoje didėjimo priežastis. Tyrimo metodika. Kauno apskrities ligoninėje atlikta anoniminė anketinė gydytojų apklausa. Buvo išdalintos 199 anketos. Gautos 160 anketų (atsako dažnis 80,4 proc.). Tinkamos analizei buvo 119 anketų. Duomenų analizei naudotas SPSS 13.0 statistinės analizės paketas. Rezultatai: 76,7 proc. gydytojų tvirtino, jog yra gerai susipažinę su pareiginiais nuostatais, reglamentuojančiais darbo turinį, teises, profesinę atsakomybę. Gydytojai savo žinias apie teisinį profesinės atsakomybės reguliavimą įvertino vidutiniškai ir žemiau vidutinės ribos (1,83-3 balai, maksimalus 5 balai). Daugiau nei du trečdaliai (68,9 proc.) teigė norintys įgyti daugiau teisinių žinių. Pusei gydytojų (51 proc.) labiausiai priimtinas teiginys, kad gydytojas įsipareigoja ne išgydyti pacientą, bet suteikti medicinos pagalbą sąžiningai ir atidžiai, atsižvelgdamas į medicinos mokslo pasiekimus ir progresą. Teiginiai, kad gydytojo darbas yra reikalaujantis aukšto profesionalumo ir didelės atsakomybės respondentų buvo įvertinti aukščiausiai, atitinkamai vidurkis buvo 4,77 ir 4,71. Aim of the study. To evaluate physicians’ attitude toward professional liability. Objectives: To establish physicians’ knowledge about legal regulation of professional liability, to evaluate physicians’ attitude toward professional duties and liability, to establish physicians’ opinion about patients’ complaints and the reasons of increasing of professional liability lawsuits in Lithuania. Methods. Anonymous questionnaire survey of 199 physicians working at Kaunas District Hospital was carried out. 160 questionnaires returned (response rate 80.4 %) – 119 of them were suitable for analysis. SPSS 13.0 version of statistic analysis package was used to analyze data. Results. 76.7 % of physicians stated that they were well familiar with duty instructions, regulating work content, rights and professional liability. Physicians estimated their knowledge about legal professional liability regulation as average and lower than average (1.83 – 3 points, when 5 points maximum). 68.9 % of physicians stated they were willing to get more knowledge of law. Kompiuteris ir internetas neatsiejami šiuolaikinio gyvenimo palydovai. Aktyviausia kompiuterinių technologijų vartotojų grupė Lietuvoje išlieka 15–19 metų jaunimas. 2011 m. duomenimis kompiuteriu naudojosi net 96,6 proc. šio amžiaus grupės respon¬dentų. Medikai kompiuterio poveikį sveikatai sieja su regėjimo prob¬lemomis, kaulų ir raumenų sistemų pakenkimu, psichosocialinėmis proble¬momis bei stresu, veido bei kaklo odos pažeidimais. Darbo tikslas: ištirti ir įvertinti moksleivių darbą kompiuteriu ir jo sąsajas su sveikatos nusiskundimais, priklausomybę nuo interneto bei jos ryšį su vaikų vidine darna. Buvo atliktas momentinis epidemiologinis tyrimas, panaudojant anoniminį klausimyną. Tyrime dalyvavo 1730 respondentų. Nustatyta, kad iš 1730 mokinių sveikatos nusiskundimus, dirbant kom¬piuteriu, išsakė 741 (85,4 proc.) berniukas ir 761 (88,4 proc.) mergaitė. Galimybė atsirasti kaulų-raumenų bei regos nusiskundimams berniu¬kams ir mergaitėms, praleidžiantiems prie kompiuterio > 4 val., buvo didesnė, nei praleidžiantiems <2 val. Tik mergaitės, žaidžiančios kovinius ir veiksmo žaidimus, turėjo 2,59 karto didesnę galimybę vertinti savo sveikatą blogiau, nei nežaidžiančios. Nustatyta, kad respondentų vidinė darna buvo susijusi su laiku, praleistu prie kompiuterio, pasirenkamų žaidimų pobūdžiu, galimybe būti priklausomu nuo kompiuterio, o taip pat subjektyviu savo sveikatos vertinimu.

Computers and the Internet are an integral part of modern life. 15–19 year-old youth remain the most active computer users in Lithuania. According to the data for 2011, as much as 96.6% of people in this age group use computers. Physicians associate the effect of computer use on health with vision problems, damage to the musculoskeletal system, psy¬cho-social problems and stress, and damage to the skin of the face and the neck. The aim of this research was to study and evaluate the working envi¬ronment and its associations with health complaints in schoolchildren work¬ing with computers, and to evaluate Internet addiction and its re¬lationship with schoolchildren’s sense of coherence. Cross sectional study was performed by using anonymous questionnaire, 1,730 schoolchildren participated. The study showed that 741 (85.4%) boys and 761 (88.4%) girls out of 1,730 schoolchildren had health complaints related to computer work. The probability of developing musculoskeletal and vision disorders among boys and girls who spent >4 hours at the computer was higher than among those who spent <2 hours at the computer. Only girls who played combat and action games tended to present poorer evaluations of their health by 2.59 times more fre¬quently, compared to girls who did not play such games. Bakgrund: I mötet med vården upplever många patienter att kommunikationen och bemötandet brister. Den nya Patientlagen är avsedd för att förbättra situationen. Patientklagomål som har skickats in till patientnämnden kan hjälpa till att förstå faktorer och hinder som finns och vilka delar av Patientlagen som behöver implementeras bättre för att förbättra kvalitet av vården för alla. Syfte: Att granska klagomål om kommunikation inkomna till en patientnämnd vad gäller bakgrundsfaktorer bland patienterna, analysera anmälningarna utifrån Patientlagens bestämmelser samt undersöka vilka åtgärder de har lett till. Metod: En empirisk studie med beskrivande design med en kvantitativ ansats användes. Materialet samlades in från en patientnämnds databas i Sverige. Alla ärenden som handlade om kommunikation på ett sjukhus i Mellansverige och som kom in under 2015 inkluderades. Resultat: I de flesta fall anmälde patienten själv (72,7 %) händelsen och de var ofta kvinnor (61,7 %). Medelåldern på de som anmälde var 44 år. Det verksamhetsområde som gav flest anmälningar var ortopedi (13,7 %). Anmälningarna visade problem med att uppfylla Patientlagens kapitel om inledande bestämmelser, information, samtycke och delaktighet. Patientnämnden hade kontakt med vården i över hälften av fallen samtidigt som en femtedel av anmälningarna inte ledde till någon åtgärd. Slutsats: I vården finns det brister på hur Patientlagens krav uppfylls för till exempel information, samtycke och delaktighet. Mer uppmärksamhet borde ges till att utveckla fungerande kommunikation mellan vården, patienten och anhöriga.

Background: There is a lot of room for improvement in how patients experience their communication with the health care providers. The new Patient Law is intended to improve the situation. Patient complaints that are submitted to the Patient Advisory Committee can help to understand the factors and barriers that exist and which parts of the Patient Law that need more implementation to make health care better for all. Objective: This study examined complaints about communication that had been sent in to one Patient Advisory Committee in Sweden. From the complaints the study examined who makes the complaint (patient/relative, gender and age), in which care unit most of the complaints occur in and to which paragraphs of the Patient Law the complaint could be classified into. Finally the study examined what measures had been taken because of the complaints. Method: An empirical study with descriptive design with quantitative approach was used. The complaints were gathered from one Patient Advisory Committees database. All complaints concerning communication in one hospital in Sweden that were sent in during 2015 were included.
