This thesis investigates the role of plants on the hydrology of stormwater biofiltration systems. The findings show that small plant life-forms can mitigate clogging and maintain hydraulic performance of these systems for longer. Plant water use in biofiltration system also reduces stormwater runoff, particularly when a saturated zone is included.
