Il ruolo del sistema endocannabinoide nella fisipatologia epatica e stato studiato di recente. Senza dubbio, influenzando i segnali indotti da endocannabinoidi si puo avere un effetto benefico nel ritardare o addirittura invertire la fibrosi epatica. A cio' si aggiunge un possibile ruolo terapeutico sulle complicanze della cirrosi.
