The dissertation deals with two fragments which have nothing to share but insoluble /hard to solve problems concerning the genre, the date and authorship, the function of parepigrafai or the role of chorus. Its aim is to examine the different opinions of scholars and, if possible, to stimulate further research providing possible answers.The first fragment attributed to all dramatic genres, is from 1987 onwards assumed to be a satyric fragment. The dissertation examines all the arguments, especially those supported by Sutton, who suggests on the ground of verbal style, on the evolution of post -classical satyric drama and on the epigraphy/ inscription IGii2 2319, that the fragment is a post –classical satyr drama. A different hermeneutical reading of the Lenaic epigraphy and of the co- existence of the parepigraphe ΧΟΡΟΥ on one hand and the formal and topographically restricted apostrophe to the chorus of Corinthian women on the other hand, attempts to prove that the genre is not satyr drama without question.The second fragment is a “unicum” preserving a dramatic dialogue between Cassandra, Priam, Deiphovus and the Chorus and a parepigraphe ωδή appearing 7 times, arising discussion about the genre of the text. The mise en page is connected to the metrical form of the text. The character of Cassandra is predominate with telesthetic power to describe what is going on outside the walls of Troy.Although these fragments have nothing in common prima vista, they give a hint to the evolution of classic tragedy to a burlesque and cynic tragedy the first one, and to the music drama like opera the second.

Η Δ.Δ. ασχολείται με δύο αποσπάσματα των οποίων κοινό σημείο αποτελεί η δυσκολία της ειδολογικής κατάταξης, της χρονολόγησης , της πατρότητας , της λειτουργίας των παρεπιγραφών, καθώς και του ρόλου του Χορού. Σκοπός της να εξετάσει τις ενίοτε αντικρουόμενες απόψεις των μελετητών και να προτείνει , ει δυνατόν, πιθανές λύσεις στα προβλήματα που ανακύπτουν. Το πρώτο απόσπασμα σχετίζεται με τον μύθο της Μήδειας. Aποδίδεται από το 1987 στο είδος του σατυρικού δράματος από τον μελετητή D.F. Sutton., επί τη βάσει του λεκτικού του αποσπάσματος, της εξέλιξης του μετακλασικού σατυρικού δράματος και της ερμηνείας της επιγραφής IGII2 2319. Η Δ.Δ. με μία διαφορετική ερμηνεία της Ληναϊκής επιγραφής αφ’ ενός αλλά και της συνύπαρξης της παρεπιγραφής ΧΟΡΟΥ με την επίσημη και τοπικά προσδιορισμένη αποστροφή στο γυναικείο χορό αφ’ ετέρου επιχειρεί να αποδείξει ότι το είδος του αποσπάσματος δεν είναι αυταπόδεικτα σατυρικό. Το δεύτερο απόσπασμα έχει ιδιαίτερα χαρακτηριστικά αν και απηχεί την γνωστή ιλιαδική σκηνή της μονομαχίας Έκτορα –Αχιλλέα. ▼ Traditional relational database systems are not practical for big data workloads that require scalable architectures for efficient data storage, manipulation, and analysis. Apache Hadoop, one of these big data frameworks, provides distributed storage and processing as well as a central repository for different types of data from different sources. Data integration from various sources is often required before performing analytics. Apache Hive on Hadoop is widely used for this purpose, as well as for data summarization and analysis. It has features such as a SQL-like query language, a Metastore to hold metadata and file formats to support access to various frameworks on Hadoop and beyond. For comprehensive analysis and decision-making, however, a hybrid system is required to integrate Hadoop with traditional relational database management systems in order to access the valuable data stored in relational databases. Current hybrid systems are either expensive proprietary products or require a system to be developed by the user, which requires programming knowledge. In addition these approaches are not sufficiently flexible to be applied to other frameworks. In this thesis, we propose a framework called BINARY (A framework for Big data INtegration for Ad-hoc queRYing). BINARY is a hybrid Software as a Service that provides a web interface supported by a back-end infrastructure for ad-hoc querying, accessing, visualizing and joining data from different data sources, including Relational Database Management Systems and Apache Hive. Our framework uses scalable Hive and HDFS big data storage systems and supports different data sources via back-end resource adapters. There is also a front-end web interface that enables the use of HiveQL to query the data sources. The framework is extendable and allows adding other storage engines (e.g. HBase) and analytics engines (e.g. R) as needed. We used REST software architecture to enable loose connections between the engines and the User Interface programs to facilitate independent updates without affecting the data infrastructure. Our approach is validated with a proof-of-concept prototype implemented on the OpenStack cloud system.

▼ This thesis investigates the use of ad hominem arguments in American political debates in relation to the degree of polarization. The types of ad hominem arguments, the fallaciousness of the arguments and the use of mitigation techniques are examined in this. Since an increase in polarization in United States politics is visible and ad hominem arguments are a symptom of polarization, one could expect an increase in frequency of ad hominem usage and an increase of frequency of fallacious ad hominems. Since Trump is perceived as the cause of the increasing polarization according to surveys, it could be expected that he uses more ad hominem arguments and more fallacious ad hominem arguments than his opponent. To test these hypotheses, a corpus was composed of 6 American presidential debates, 3 from the 2008 presidential campaigns and 3 from the 2016 presidential campaigns. To analyse this corpus, the four types of ad hominem arguments that Tindale (2007) distinguishes serve as guidelines. Tindale’s (2007) critical questions for identifying and evaluating ad hominem arguments are used to determine the fallaciousness of the arguments. The use of Ilie’s (2004) mitigation techniques within the corpus is also examined. This way, this study attempts to connect the evaluation of ad hominem arguments to polarization in politics. This study shows that the frequency of ad hominem use in the 2016 presidential debates was more than twice as high as in 2008. The frequency of ad hominem use was nearly equal between Trump and Clinton, but Trump’s fallacious ad hominem use had a significantly higher frequency. The amount of mitigation strategies used in the debates was found to be near zero. This means that some of the outcomes of this study are in line with the expectations: the increase in ad hominem frequency in 2016 versus 2008 and Trump’s higher frequency of fallacious ad hominem use. The fact that Trump and Clinton used a nearly equal amount of ad hominem arguments in the debates and the fact that the use of mitigation techniques was rare was not in accordance with expectations. Overall, the ad hominem use in the debates seems to support the idea of an increase in polarization in American politics. The ad hominem use in the debates also seems to support the idea that Trump has a relatively big influence on this increase, compared to his opponent. ▼ Concept of Mobile Ad-hoc Networks (MANETs) was brought up a few decades ago with assumed prosperous future. Unfortunately, we do not see many practical applications of them in real life. Security of MANETs is a big concern considered by investors and industries, and hinders them from putting MANETs into application. Requirements of security, and difficulties to meet these requirements have been stated clearly already; yet solutions to these difficulties are not quite clear. Cryptographic technologies seem to be capable of satisfying most of the requirements, which has been proved in Internet or wired networks. However, most of the technologies, including symmetric and traditional asymmetric cryptography (such as Public Key Infrastructure (PKI)), are inapplicable or inconvenient to use inMANETs context. Identity-based Cryptography (IBC), as a special form of asymmetric cryptography, carries many features interesting for MANETs. IBC has been studied a lot recently by researchers of MANET security, and many applications have been proposed and claimed to address this difficult problem. However, it is still the case that most of the solutions are not sound enough to be used in a practical MANET. This thesis starts with an intensive survey on the proposals of applications of IBC in MANETs, and points out the issues, limitations and weaknesses in these proposals and also in IBC itself. The thesis proposes a novel framework with key management and secure routing scheme integrated aiming to address these issues. This scheme brings these contributions: compared to symmetric key solutions, it has more functionality derived from asymmetric keys, and is more secure due to using 1-to-m broadcasting key instead of only 1 group broadcasting key, and has less keys to store per node due to using asymmetric keys instead of pairwise symmetric keys; compared to traditional asymmetric cryptography solutions, the storage and communication requirements are lower due to IBC properties; compared to previous IBC solutions, it has no key management and secure routing interdependency cycle problem. Security of the proposed scheme is proved and performance of the scheme is simulated and analyzed in the thesis. To the end of a complete solution for an arbitraryMANET running in an arbitrary environment, the thesis proposes enhancements to counter various attacks and options to abate or eliminate limitations and weaknesses of IBC. The proposed scheme has a wide range of applicability for various MANETs with little or no administrative overhead depending on situations where it is considered. ▼ A wireless sensor network (WSN) is a collection of wireless nodes, usually with limited computing resources and available energy. The medium access control layer (MAC layer) directly guides the radio hardware and manages access to the radio spectrum in controlled way. A top priority for a WSN MAC protocol is to conserve energy, however tailoring the algorithm for this purpose can create or expose a number of security vulnerabilities. In particular, a regular duty cycle makes a node vulnerable to periodic jamming attacks. This vulnerability limits the use of use of a WSN in applications requiring high levels of security. We present a new WSN MAC protocol, RSMAC (Random Sleep MAC) that is designed to provide resistance to periodic jamming attacks while maintaining elements that are essential to WSN functionality. CPU, memory and especially radio usage are kept to a minimum to conserve energy while maintaining an acceptable level of network performance so that applications can be run transparently on top of the secure MAC layer. We use a coordinated yet pseudo-random duty cycle that is loosely synchronized across the entire network via a distributed algorithm. This thwarts an attacker's ability to predict when nodes will be awake and likewise thwarts energy efficient intelligent jamming attacks by reducing their effectiveness and energy-efficiency to that of non-intelligent attacks. Implementing the random duty cycle requires additional energy usage, but also offers an opportunity to reduce asymmetric energy use and eliminate energy use lost to explicit neighbor discovery. We perform testing of RSMAC against non-secure protocols in a novel simulator that we designed to make prototyping new WSN algorithms efficient, informative and consistent. First we perform tests of the existing SMAC protocol to demonstrate the relevance of the novel simulation for estimating energy usage, data transmission rates, MAC timing and other relevant macro characteristics of wireless sensor networks. Second, we use the simulation to perform detailed testing of RSMAC that demonstrates its performance characteristics with different configurations and its effectiveness in confounding intelligent jammers.

Investigating the resilience of wireless network is critical since a network is susceptible to many types disturbances, ranging from natural (e.g. wind, building, hill, mobility) to adversarial (e.g. jamming, eavesdropping, denial of service). The notion of network resilience describes a network's ability to recover its structure should damages occur when one or more terminals are shut down or whenever sensitive information is compromised due to impersonating adversaries. This thesis addresses the following three problems related to the reduction of robustness in an ad hoc network: (1) The backtracking problem in overlay networking, which occurs during packet delivery. This condition forces a packet to traverse an extended distance due to the lack of network-layer information being fully shared with the overlay routing functions. With the presence of backtracking, the packet delivery error rate increases in relation with the traversal distance; (2) The black hole problem, which is characterized by the network being punctured, such as is caused by a jammer emitting format-compliant packets in an attempt to overflow a legitimate node's buffer. As a consequence, targeted nodes are segregated from the rest of network; (3) The reduced connectivity problem, which results from a repetitive jamming attack where the weakest link or node is selected by the jammer to be attacked. In this thesis, the first problem is solved by redesigning an overlay routing protocol to be aware of the geographical location of cluster heads. The overlay hash table is re-organized in an order based on distance. The second problem is solved in two different ways: First, a method is presented that locates the jammer's approximate position. Reinforcement learning is applied at each node to learn the possible position of the jammer. The node's judgment is propagated by the routing protocol to interactively exchange the belief about the attacker's position. Second, a power control approach that is being used by wireless nodes is presented that adjusts the transmission power dynamically according to the Fiedler value, which is inferred from topology information carried inherently in the Optimized Link State Routing (OLSR) Protocol. By varying the radio range, packet flows can bypass the jamming area after topology transformation, making the network more resilient. The third problem is approached by developing a better mathematical understanding of connectivity when facing interference, which is achieved by analyzing the achievable throughput based on connectivity. A metric that measures the throughput and weighted throughput connectivity is introduced. Then, the connectivity issue under a jamming attack is solved by applying stochastic game theory to analyze the utility of connectivity and the interactive behaviors of both the jammer and the scanner. An optimal scanning strategy is designed to defend against repetitive jamming attacks involving different intents, and to strengthen the network connectivity at the same time.

Le mandat ad hoc est le nom donné à une technique ancienne, utilisée à différentes fins, pour conférer une mission particulière à une personne désignée par l'autorité judiciaire. Le terme "ad hoc", une locution latine, signifie "pour cela" et "en remplacement de". Cette expression s'applique : "à toute personne ou à tout organe à qui est assigné une mission précise et momentanée et qui reçoit des pouvoirs limités à cette fin". On retrouve ainsi dans différentes branches du droit des "mandataires" aux noms divers mais qui pourtant entrent dans la définition du mandat ad hoc : mandataire successoral, administrateur ad hoc, etc.... Une distinction entre ces différentes notions et celle de mandataire ad hoc, au sens du Livre 6 du Code de commerce, s'est alors imposée dans la présente étude puisqu'il n'existe pas un statut commun du mandataire ad hoc. Le mandat ad hoc du Livre VI du Code de commerce est issu de la pratique prétorienne du tribunal de commerce de Paris qui avait considéré qu'il entrait dans la mission du président du tribunal de commerce de faciliter la recherche d'une solution lorsqu'une entreprise éprouve des difficultés graves, d'ordre juridique, économique ou financier. Il se rapproche du mandataire ad hoc en matière de copropriété en pré-difficulté dans sa mission de négociation. Il a néanmoins été possible de dégager deux rôles essentiels des mandataires ad hoc, à savoir, un rôle de représentation et un rôle de négociation. Les réformes en cours en matière d'entreprises et de copropriétés en difficulté visent à mettre en place un véritable statut du mandataire ad hoc. Dans toutes les branches du droit, le mandataire ad hoc n'a pas de statut juridique mais simplement un embryon de statut. Cette notion de mandataire ad hoc, son succès mais également ses failles sont à mettre en exergues. La nécessité d'harmoniser les règles existantes afin de créer un statut homogène en vue de renforcer la sécurité juridique s'avère nécessaire.

The ad hoc mandate is the name given to an ancient procedure, used for different purposes, to confer a particular mission to a person designated by the judicial authority. The term "ad hoc" is a Latin expression which means "for this" and "replacement for". This term applies to "any person or a body who/which is assigned a specific and temporary mission and receives limited powers to do so"."Representatives" going by different names can therefore be found in various branches of the Law but nonetheless fall within the definition of ad hoc mandate: personal representative, ad hoc administrator, etc. A distinction between these concepts and the one of the ad hoc representative as defined in Book 6 of the Commercial Code had then to be made in the present study since there is no common status applying to ad hoc representatives. L’objectif de cette thèse est la gestion de la QdS des systèmes publier/souscrire sur MANET. Ceci provoque un maintien permanent de la connectivité entre les parties communicantes du système. Plus précisément, les contributions de cette thèse, sont organisées autour de deux grands axes relatifs aux modules de monitoring et d’analyse de la QdS de ces systèmes dans un contexte ad-hoc. Ceci englobe les etapes de collecte des paramètres de QdS au cours du fonctionnement du système, et de détection des dégradations pouvant l’aﬀecter.Contrairement à ce qui existe dans la littérature, notre module d’analyse, basé sur des méthodes statistiques, se base sur des seuils adaptatifs qui tiennent en comptes de la dynamicité du réseau et des changements aﬀectant le contexte ad-hoc. En outre, le module d’analyse proposé oﬀre à l’utilisateur une variété de choix entre une analyse réactive, proactive et hybride. Notre module permet aussi une localisation des pannes une fois détectées ou prédites. Des expérimentations menées à l’aide du simulateur Jist/Swans ont montré l’eﬃcacité des modules developpés. De plus, une mesure des paramètres de performance du système avant et après introduction des modules développés a montré leur eﬃcacité. Finalement, une étude de la complexité spatiale et temporelle du module analytique proposé a été réalisée.

Mobile ad-hoc networks (MANET) is a set of nodes, communicating meaning wireless channel without any centralized control. The main characteristic of MANET is the frequent mobility of its nodes leading to some dynamic changes of topology. Nodes mobility in such networks introduces possible disconnections between adjacent nodes, and more generally quality of service (QoS) degradation issues that do not ﬁt well with QoS requirements of QoS sensitive applications. Publish/subscribe communicating system has been proposed at the middleware layer in order to communicate mobile entities in MANET. Such system is a decoupled interaction between publishers (or producers) and receivers (or consumers).Our goal in this thesis is to provide a QoS management for publish/subscribe systems when deployed on MANET while assuming a best eﬀort ﬂux at the routing layer. This thesis proposes an analytical model for latency aware publish/subscribe systems on mobile ad-hoc networks. The proposed approach combines both proactive and reactive statistical analysis.On the one hand, the reactive analysis, suitable for multimedia applications, detects failures by approximating latency series with Gumbel distribution. On the other hand, the proactive analysis, suitable for crisis management applications, forecasts failures occurrence relying on Auto Regression or Auto Regressive Integrated Moving Average Formulas. Finally, a hybrid analysis was proposed by dynamically switching from reactive to predictive forms of analysis whenever quality of service violations are noticed. Användare och kunder idag ställer större krav för enklare inloggning och en mer sömlös upplevelse för åtkomst till alla IT-tjänster. Microsoft har nyligen släppt verktyget Azure AD Connect för synkronisering av lösenord mellan Active Directory och molntjänsterna Office365, Azure och 1000-tal SaaS ”Software as a service” applikationer. TeamNorr IT-partner är ett IT företag som riktar in sig på att leverera Microsofts produkter till sina kunder och vill därför veta mer kring Azure AD Connect, vad som krävs och hur det konfigureras. Single Sign On har betydelsen att bara behöver logga in en gång för att sen slippa skriva in användare och lösenord för att komma åt de applikationer som har stöd för Single Sign On. Federerad domän är det som ger bäst och säkrast upplevelse med Single Sign On. Simplified Sign On gör att samma användarnamn och lösenord används för inloggning, ingen automatisk inloggning sker. Azure AD Connect är verktyget som installerar de roller som behövs för att köra Single Sign On eller Simplified Sign On. Som standard installeras en synkroniseringsmotor som ska hålla koll på att informationen om användarna/grupperna och lösenorden stämmer mellan det lokala Active Directory och Azure Active Directory eller den federerade domänen. Det synkroniseringsmotorn tar med när den synkroniserar bestäms av de regler som satts upp. Används lösningen med Password Sync så tillkommer inga extra roller. Väljs istället en Federerad domän så installeras 2 extra roller som heter Federation(AD FS) och Web Application Proxy(WAP). Rollerna sköter autentisering av användarna istället för Microsofts autentisering. På servrarna som hostar rollerna krävs en viss grundprestanda beroende på storlek av Active Directory och antal användare anslutna för att det ska fungera tillfredsställande.

The Acceptable Ads Standard is a set of guidelines developed by the biggest ad-blocker company AdBlock Plus as an attempt to alleviate the largest need for ad-blocking programs; ads being annoying, irrelevant, and too intrusive. The guidelines inflict rules regarding how ads can be presented in order to be acceptable, thereby not disturbing the consumer. If a website follows these guidelines, their ads will not get blocked. The terms ad-avoidance and ad-irritation has been established by Cho et al. and Baek et al. [4]. The term ad-noticeability was added to these in order to express the behavior of seeing an ad, but not necessarily understanding what it’s trying to mediate. This study aims to examine the Acceptable Ads guidelines’ effect on user experience and ad-noticeability through a quantitative and qualitative study. The two studies were conducted with the help of two specially made test suites in the form of two websites, one with acceptable and one with non-acceptable ads. All participants went through the same set of tasks on the websites. In the quantitative study, data regarding what ads the participants’ had seen and what their experiences’ had been like was collected. Through the qualitative study, it was possible to get more elaborate answers to why certain ads were seen or missed and to get more in-depth answers regarding the participants’ experiences. Through the study, it was found that there is a difference in ad-noticeability and the user experience of ads between websites that contain either acceptable or non-acceptable ads. The results suggest that the Acceptable Ads guidelines affect user experience positively, i.e. leading to less ad-irritation or annoyance, but also affect ad-noticeability negatively. It was also found that cognitive ad-avoidance was greatly affected by task-oriented focus, both in cases with and without ads following acceptable

▼ Background: Online marketing tactics designed to have a minimized impact on consumer experience have emerged recently whereas native advertising is one concept. Native advertising is an approach designed to decrease interruptions in consumers’ online experience by matching the form and functions of the platform in which the advertisement appears. It occurs online, with the one characteristic in common that it should not disrupt or negatively affect consumer experience. The desire to minimize consumer disruption has led to that native advertising in its most effective nature can be difficult for the reader to identify, which leads to the discussion of whether the tactic is deceptive. It is found that ad disclosures are frequently the only thing that separates native ads from commercial content. Unexplored areas in the literature exist, which include if native ad disclosures can be made more efficient with the use of brand disclosures. Purpose: The purpose of this thesis is to investigate if brand disclosure in native advertisements affects consumers’ native ad recognition ability. Method: Data was collected through an eye-tracking experiment, exploring if brand disclosures affect the native ad recognition ability. The experiment was created in Tobii Pro Lab which tracked participants’ real-time physiological reactions. Results were complemented with a questionnaire and data was analyzed in SPSS. The sample consisted of 60 students at Jönköping University. Findings: The analysis illustrates that the experimental test group which received brand disclosures of high prominence showed an increased ability to recognize and identify native advertisements as promotional content compared to the control group. By implementing Mann-Whitney U tests and a Chi-Square test in order to test the hypotheses, results were found significant. The hypotheses were supported and could not be rejected, which resulted in the conclusion that brand disclosures increase the native ad recognition ability.

▼ The current modern commercial pig is an animal that has evolved through deliberate breeding programs, controlled environmental influences and nutrition to yield a highly efficient feed converter and fertile animal. The objective of this study was to measure the growth performances and carcass characteristics of entire male grower – finisher pigs which were subjected to different seasonal variations, nutrient dense diets, feeding regimes and group situations under South African circumstances. Period 1 was conducted in the winter from 6 June 2008 to 13 August 2008 and Period 2 in the summer from 3 October 2008 to 10 December 2008. The sire lines that were selected for the experiment had the same genetic breeding values (Topigs Selection Index value), of which two sire lines were the same in both Period 1 and Period 2 and one of two different sires lines was used either in Period 1 or Period 2. The animals were fed two different rations, a high (FH) and a low ration (FL), with the low ration’s specifications being 95 % of the high ration. The animals were randomly allocated three different feed regimes throughout the trial; restricted single feeding (RSF), ad libitum single feeding (ASF) and ad libitum group feeding (AGF). In the winter animals had a greater growth response compared to the summer, with end weight and average daily gain being significant (P<0.05) higher. A significant (P<0.05) improvement in average daily gain, feed efficiency and protein deposition rate were observed when animals were fed a higher energy and protein content in their diet, especially during summer. A significant (P<0.05) improved feed conversion was observed for restricted animals, but end weight, average daily gain and average protein deposition rates were significant (P<0.05) lower compared to ad libitum group and individually fed animals. In conclusion; the impact of decreasing the nutrient density of the diet for growing pigs through incremental changes in diet composition had a variable impact on overall growth performance and carcass quality. Feeding the high energy and protein ration improved growth performance during summer, but also in the initial stages of growth when feed intake capacity was limited. The objective when formulating diets should be to provide the essential amino acids and energy in amounts needed to support maximal and efficient growth. Using growth models estimated optimal feed intake curves will not deliver optimal results. Only when measuring and calculating the actual feed intake and protein deposition rates optimal performance levels will be reached. Measurements of feed intake and growth performance data derived from pigs penned individually should be adjusted before they can be applied to commercial situations or research conditions in which pigs are penned in groups.
