▼ The complexity of
web sites are increasing and transforming into
web applications that contain
business logic, interactivity, transaction handling and states. This phenomenon forces
web developers
to adapt more organized, simple and elegant techniques to keep the
web applications error free,
maintainable, reusable, well documented, etc. While this trend towards more useful interactive services,
it also makes development of
web applications much more complex.
This Thesis focuses on developing a purely XML-Based
web application framework that enables
software developers and even non-programmers to build useful and highly interactive
web applications
quickly and easily using purely declarative language.

▼ The introduction and use of online learning tools have been on the increase over the last decade. Educational organisations all over the world have implemented online learning to improve the accessibility to study from anywhere and at anytime. The process of introducing an online learning tool, the technical issues, and the changes that staff members endure to adapt to the online learning tool are some of the important factors in that affect adoption to the new software tool.
The purpose of this study was to find out the impacts, changes, and technical issues that occur when online learning is introduced in a tertiary educational organisation for distance learning students. Staff members at the educational organisation where the case study was conducted were surveyed and interviewed to find out the impacts, changes, technical issues, Information Technology (IT) support, and training that they experienced when the online learning tool was introduced.
Based on the responses received from the survey and interview it was apparent that most staff members at Organisation X are positive about the change that has occurred, because most of the responses from the staff members were positive towards the online learning tool although there were some technical and usability issues when they first started using the tool. It is also evident from the responses that sufficient IT support and IT training was provided to all staff members to help them understand the features and usability of the online learning tool.
The findings of this research support much of what has been in the literature. It is hoped that this report will serve as a guidance of the technical changes and impact on a staff member‟s role and responsibility that can occur when an online learning tool is introduced in an organisation.

▼ The purpose of this research study is to attain an understanding of the use of social networking sites and
Web 2.0
technologies by computing students for e-learning.
Social networking sites have mostly been accepted by university students, and such sites are influencing many aspects of university student life. E-learning is also increasing in the tertiary industry, which is changing the way students learn and teachers instruct. In this thesis, the researcher has investigated attitudes, behaviours and knowledge of computing students towards the use of social networking sites in e-learning. Data has been collected from online survey and interviews, and analyzed to discover the current tendencies for the use of social networking sites in e-learning by computing students. In this research, an understanding of how social networking sites are being used in e-learning, why this group of students use these sites and how they use these sites is sought. Analysis and discussions in this research is aimed at answering eight research questions:
1. What social networking sites are used by computing students?
2. What is the history development status and acceptance of social networking sites?
3. What is the history development status and acceptance of e-learning?
4. What is the current status of the use of social networking sites in e-learning?
5. What are the attitudes of computing students in relation to the use of social networking sites for e-learning?
6. How will these factors affect the use of social networking sites for e-learning on campus?
7. What features of social networking sites and
Web 2.0
technologies facilitate e-learning?
8. What is the perception of computing students about the future use of social networking tools in e-learning?
After investigation and doing some research, the researcher found that FaceBook is the most popular social networking site that computing students use it for e-learning to achieve their study goal.

▼ The trend in the use of digital technologies in learning in higher education has been driven by a number of underlying assumptions about the affordances of technology in learning. This trend has not only been advocated by educationalists, who argue for digital technologies as a catalyst for pedagogical change, but also by students themselves as they adopt new ways of collaborating and communicating with their worlds.
A significant amount of literature is now appearing arguing that technology is changing learners with terms like 'digital natives' (Prensky 2001) gaining prominence and authors such as Coates (2007) arguing that these ‘millennial learners’ learn in different ways to their predecessors. Most young people in modern societies, both Western and Eastern, make routine use of the Internet and email, text messaging and social software and we are seeing evidence that Web 2.0 is allowing student participation in online communities that define and share information in educational contexts.
This study seeks to investigate the learning settings being used in Malaysia to teach the Millennium generation, what is the digital status of these learners and how this generation is responding to the learning settings both being offered and being generated by them. The study specifically investigates the use of social media technologies by institutions to engage with their students and facilitate effective technology supported learning environments.
The findings based on survey, interview, observational and policy analysis data show that the use of social media technologies are heavily embedded in the students own learning processes, and individual academics are leveraging from these practices to engage and motivate students in their learning. The study also found that the institutions themselves are poorly prepared for these changes to pedagogical processes and are not, as a matter of strategy or policy, taking advantage of the opportunities offered by social media technologies.

▼ Since a massive decline of computer science graduates in 2002, computer science departments have been unable to reach previous graduation rates. In wake of this dramatic loss of graduates, researchers have been searching for the reasons students are avoiding computer science and choosing other majors.
To combat this decrease in computer science graduates, the CloudSpace environment pro- vides additional context to entry level computer science courses. This shift in context re- moves boring assignments from the early computer science curriculum and replaces them with more engaging
web centric assignments. The CloudSpace environment presents a model that maintains student's focus on core computer science competencies while providing a highly simplified
web development toolkit to develop feature rich AJAX
web applications. This the- sis includes the rational and implementation of a cloud based hosting service and a highly abstracted
web tool kit that enables students to replicate modern
web applications.

impacts on all aspects of their business activities. The continuous
evolution of e-commerce
technologies enables
web-based business
(consisting of virtual supply chain partners) to integrate its
manufacturing operations and to gain competitive advantage through
entire virtual supply chains. Although the interplay of e-commerce
and virtual supply chain cooperation is not clear when considering
supply chain forecasting, planning, scheduling, execution and
after-service, the potential for virtual coordination of business
activities by means of e-commerce
technologies is growing in
importance. In this regard, networking capabilities that enable
virtual organizing activities in the virtual value chain network
are of particular importance to
web-based organizations. The
research investigated this using a grounded theory approach. The
Grounded Theory analysis consisted of three phases. First,
following a comprehensive review of the relevant literature, a set
of particularly relevant articles was identified to provide the
basic data from which to develop a first, preliminary framework or
theory. This framework was subsequently refined to produce a
concluding framework, using data collected during interviews with
representatives of six different
web-based businesses. Finally, the
concluding framework or theory was validated by applying it to a
particular case. The concluding framework contains twelve
networking capabilities, adding three to the nine identified in the
preliminary framework. The conceptual framework with theoretical
description of relationships between identified networking
capabilities clarify the use of networking capabilities with
virtual organizing in a virtual value network of organizations. An
interpretation of the concluding framework, based on Actor-Network
Theory, shows how the entrepreneur can leverage the
inter-relationships between the networking capabilities to enable
more effective and efficient virtual organizing. In particular, it
shows how the entrepreneur can utilize knowledge and skills related
to the identified networking capabilities to build and maintain a

of information technology as well as the role of the entrepreneur
in establishing and maintaining the virtual value network was
described.

Nowadays, Information and Communication Technologies are a topic with a huge and very important presence in several industry sectors.
With the industry always seeking to optimize resources, decrease costs and increase productivity, the convergence with ICT products has been becoming more natural.
Due to the specific nature of Additive Manufacturing process, also known as 3d printing and which purpose is to create solid objects in three dimensions starting from a digital representation, it was identified the need to improve the interface with the operator. Therefore, this project aims to develop a Human-Machine Interface specifically adapted to an Addictive Manufacturing equipment.
An extended research of related work is presented. Based on this and a set of goals, a solution was proposed and tested through the development of a functional prototype which validated the proposed architecture from the technological point of view.

▼ College faculty in Ontario are using a variety of digital
technologies, at differing levels, in their teaching and learning practices. College administrators are looking to faculty to help meet the challenges associated with increasing enrollment and the need to deliver curriculum to a diverse student population with a range of learning needs who have unlimited access to information and communication channels through the World Wide
Web. This research provides some understanding of specific motivating factors that have led many in community college faculty to adopt digital and
Web technologies into their teaching and learning practices as well as those factors that may lead other college faculty to adopt similar
technologies into their practices. A modified decomposed theory of planned behaviour (DTPB) was implemented as a theoretical framework for this study and data collection was undertaken using a mixed-method approach using both quantitative and qualitative methods in an effort to fully realize and categorize the factors necessary in a faculty decision to adopt digital
technologies into their teaching practice. Findings indicate that digital
technologies are employed by faculty in some cases only to achieve efficiency in communication and administrative tasks favouring traditional teaching methods in their classrooms. Others are exploring and experimenting in exciting new ways with digital
technologies in an effort to enhance the learning experience for their students in and out of their classrooms. In addition to the varying teaching and learning beliefs held by faculty there are other factors that should be considered by college administrators when attempting to motivate faculty to adopt digital
technologies into their practices. There are also many challenges facing college administrators and faculty who should revisit traditional approaches to assigning workload, providing support and training, and the overall approach to teaching and learning, all of which carry with them financial and cultural implications.

▼ Web applications have become increasingly popular due to their potential for businesses' high revenue gain through global reach. Along with these opportunities, also come challenges in terms of Web application security. The increased rise in the number of datadriven applications has also seen an increased rise in their systematic attacks. Cyberattacks exploit Web application vulnerabilities. Attack trends show a major increase in Web application vulnerabilities caused by improper implementation of information-flow control methods and they account for more than 50% of all Web application vulnerabilities found in the year 2013. Static code analysis using methods of information-flow control is a widely acknowledged technique to secure Web applications. Whilst this technique has been found to be both very effective and efficient in finding Web application vulnerabilities, specific tools are highly dependent on the programming language. This thesis leverages Semantic Web technologies in order to offer a common language through source code represented using the Resource Description Framework format, whereby reasoning can be applied to securely test Web applications. In this thesis, we present a framework that extracts source code facts from various programming languages at a variable-level of granularity using Abstract Syntax Trees (ASTs) generated using language grammars and the ANTLR parser generator. The methodology for detecting Web application vulnerabilities implements three phases: entry points identification, tracing information-flow and vulnerability detection using the Jena framework inference mechanism and rules describing patterns of source code. The approach discussed in this thesis is found to be effective and practical in finding Web application vulnerabilities with the limitation that it can only detect patterns that are used as training data or very similar patterns. False positives are caused by limitations of the language grammar, but they do not affect the accuracy of the security vulnerability detection method in identifying the correct Web application vulnerability.

▼ This thesis research examines success factors for transactional eCommerce Websites focusing on technical and business contexts. Transactional websites in particular have become essential for eCommerce development and use. The researcher has adapted the three-phase process model from Delone and McLean’s I/S (Information system) success model (development, use and consequence), and conducted a comprehensive investigation to identify and determine success for transactional eCommerce website success.
The primary research question:
1. What are the critical success factors for transactional e-Commerce websites?
Sub Research Questions:
2. What issues essentially relate and encourage transactional eCommerce website success?
3. How do use and user satisfaction influence transactional eCommerce website success?
4. How can success factors for transactional eCommerce websites be categorized?
5. How can the success of transactional eCommerce websites be measured?
In order to answer the above research questions, a mixed research method of survey and interview modes was applied to the research project. This research study has set its goal to identify, verify and categorize success factors for transactional eCommerce success, and to explore and discuss issues related to transactional eCommerce success. The researcher has identified 10 potential success factors (Site popularity, profit, performance and usability, security, design, content, transaction process and volume, shopping process, technical support and system development) for eCommerce websites from the secondary data (literature review and online tools). An empirical study was conducted to decide whether these factors are success factors for transactional eCommerce website, interviewing 8 eCommerce professionals and 52 end users. Primary data was collected from surveys and interviews to verify the hypotheses. Survey is a popular research technique generally with the quantitative approach recently. The sample size for the survey study was 52 in this thesis investigation. The researcher collected qualitative data by using interview as a technique, with 2 academic researchers in the field of eCommerce, 3 eCommerce website developers and 3 website owners.
The findings and results indicate that the success factors which determine eCommerce development are usability and performance, security, technical support,
web design,
web content and system development process; also, site popularity and shopping process are factors related to the use of transaction eCommerce websites, while transaction process and volume and website profit are the factors of concern to business owners, and they belong to the eCommerce impact category. Furthermore, a theoretical model was proposed for further studies to examine the success of transactional eCommerce websites. The 10 success factors were categorized into three groups: transactional eCommerce development, use and consequences. The results also connect to three stakeholder groups of transactional eCommerce websites:…

How does network performance decrease as the number of nodes of network increases?
4 sub-questions:
Which encryption protocol is the best one for multi-node wireless network
environment?
How the network throughput will be effect by increasing the number of wireless nodes in a large-scale wireless network?
How the network delay will be effect by increasing the number of wireless nodes in a large-scale wireless network?
How different is the data get from test bed implementation and simulation
implementation?
802.11 WLAN becomes one of the most implementation of wireless network technology. However, the network performance is always a significant concern for users who is willing to migrant from wired to wireless network. Previously, a test-bed project has been conduct for 802.11n draft network performance against encryption protocols. This project is an extension of the previous experiment that increases the scale of the network by using simulations. The project tests network performance parameters such as throughput, delay, media access delay, and retransmission attempts against the change of number of APs and wireless nodes. Final result will be given based on the analyzed result data.

▼ This thesis presents an extensive survey of 100,000
websites as the basis for understanding the deployment of cookies
across the Internet. The survey indicates cookie deployment on the
Internet is approaching universal levels. The survey identifies the
presence of P3P policies and dynamic web technologies as major
predictors of cookie usage, and a number of significant
relationships are established between the origin of the web
application and cookie deployment. Large associations are
identified between third-party persistent cookie usage and a
country’s e-business environment. Cookie collection testing (CCT),
a strategy for testing web applications, is presented. Cookies
maintained in a browser are explored in light of anti random
testing techniques, culminating in the definition of seeding
vectors as the basis for a scalable test suite. Essentially CCT
seeks to verify web application robustness against the
modification—intentional or otherwise—of an application's internal
state variables. Automation of CCT is outlined through the
definition of test oracles and evaluation criterion. Evolutionary
adaptive random (eAR) testing is proposed for application to the
cookie collection testing strategy. A simulation study is
undertaken to evaluate eAR against the current state-of-the-art in
adaptive random testing—fixed size candidate set, restricted random
testing, quasi-random testing, and random testing. eAR is
demonstrated to be superior to the other techniques for block
pattern simulations. For fault patterns of increased complexity,
eAR is shown to be comparable to the other methods. An empirical
investigation of CCT is undertaken. CCT is demonstrated to reveal
defects within web applications, and is found to have a substantial
fault-triggering rate. Furthermore, CCT is demonstrated to interact
with the underlying application, not just the technological
platform upon which an application is implemented. Both seeding and
generated vectors are found to be useful in triggering defects. A
synergetic relationship is found to exist between the seeding and
generated vectors with respect to distinct fault detection.
Finally, a large significant relationship is established between
structural and content similarity measures of web application
responses, with a composite of the two similarity measures observed
to be superior in the detection of faults.

▼ A modified Delphi survey and in-depth interviews of a panel of radio broadcasters whose stations are also webcasting were used to examine: 1) why consumers are choosing to listen to Web Radio, 2) what influence Web Radio is having on the
radio listening experience, and 3) what impact Web Radio is having on the advertisersupported model of radio consumption. Two rounds of the Delphi survey were conducted. Analysis of the central tendencies (mean, mode and standard deviation) showed
consistent results from Round I to Round II. Therefore, no further rounds were conducted. The panel was sub-divided into four groups: Large Market/New Broadcasters, Large Market/Long Time Broadcasters, Small Market/New Broadcasters and Small Market/Long
Time Broadcasters. For most of the items in the Delphi survey, opinions expressed by the panel members were consistent across the sub-groups. However, in seven key areas there were definite differences of opinions. The panel feels they know why consumers
are listening to Web Radio. What the panel is much less certain of is how Web Radio is influencing the radio listening experience and what impact Web Radio will have on the advertiser-supported model of radio consumption. The panel feels that Web Radio’s
effect on traditional radio is minimal at this point in time. However, the panel feels that Web Radio will have a substantial effect on traditional radio in five to ten years. The in-depth interviews of the panel members were conducted by the researcher
as part of the first round of the Delphi survey. Constant comparative analysis was used to analyze the data from the interviews. The first level of analysis resulted in nine open coding categories. Axial coding resulted in two categories. The first
category was labeled Influences on the Radio Listening Experience. The second category was labeled Impact on the Advertiser-Supported Model of Radio Consumption. The core category, the central phenomenon around which all other categories are integrated,
was identified as The Way Web Radio Was Being Delivered to the Listener. The Internet is providing a whole new distribution system for audio programming. The impact of this new delivery system is just beginning to be felt by the traditional, over-theair
radio delivery system.

▼ Current trends in libraries require that students are
able to access information and services beyond library buildings.
Makerere University Library (Maklib) faces a number of challenges
with regard to online and remote access to library resources and
services. One possible solution to this problem lies in the use of
mobile
technologies. This study attempted to investigate how mobile
technologies can be used to provide mobile-based library services
at Makerere University library. A pilot study was conducted
involving 31 postgraduate and 37 undergraduate students using
questionnaires as the data collection tool. Qualitative data was
collected and analyzed using Google Drive and was presented in form
of text and graphs. Findings indicate that majority of Makerere
University students own mobile phones that are internet enabled and
those who do not own them have expressed interest in acquiring them
in order to stay abreast with new technology. Although students
owned internet enabled phones, they mainly used these devices to
make and receive calls, and access different kinds of information
ranging from news, social media to academic information. The
services that students wanted to access using their mobile devices
were: search the catalogue, request an e-book, request an item,
chat with a librarian, view library news, access
subject guides,
search the library database, view library opening hours, View
library contact information, Quick response, renew library items,
book study group rooms, text messaging, book computer labs and view
library map. There are also various resources that students
expressed interest in and these include: Google searches, Google
scholar, e-books, reference materials and e-journals. Convenience,
flexibility, time saving, affordability are some of the reasons for
acceptability of Mobile library services and resources. The
majority of the respondents were positive about the implementation
of the mobile services at Maklib however, some of the challenges
mentioned by students include high cost of the devices and the
ability to access internet services while in office. The study
concludes that:
Mobile technology awareness is rapidly
increasing among Ugandans especially students in higher education
such as those at Makerere University.
Ownership of mobile
devices is widespread among both the postgraduate and undergraduate
students.
Both postgraduate and undergraduate students expressed
their interest in accessing mobile library services and resources.
Recommendations that ought to be adopted by Maklib and any other
academic library willing to implement mobile library services are
discussed.

▼ Users spend more time than ever on mobile devices like smartphones and tablets, while native app development continues to become harder due to platform fragmentation. The web is a promising platform for mobile applications because of its easy access and standardised technologies that work unanimously across many different platforms and operating systems. However, native applications have always had an edge over the web because of important features that have not been available anywhere else, such as push notifications, background synchronisation and offline support. Progressive Web Apps aim to bring the web platform closer to native by enabling many of these important features while still running completely in the web browser, with the possibility to install the application, effectively promoting it to a top-level application. This project will evaluate the capabilities of web-based mobile applications compared to traditional native mobile applications. Three simple proof of concept applications will be built to test the performance and user experience with the help of different JavaScript libraries and techniques for building a Progressive Web App. Then one of the implementations will be further developed and matched against an existing native application with similar features in terms of functionality and performance. The study finds that for this use case, a Progressive Web App may be used instead of a native app without missing out on any important functionality. This simplifies development and releases, by enabling rich code sharing between the different platforms as well as avoiding the app distribution platforms by distributing the application entirely through the web, automatic and transparent to the users. However, this solution means more responsibility in terms of infrastructure for developers to maintain and optimise as the application needs to be distributed by own servers.

▼ The primary focus of this dissertation was to explore students' perceptions of adopting
Web 2.0 applications at the School of Basic Education (SBE) in Kuwait. Although
Web 2.0 applications are becoming more popular among the digital generation, there is still no evidence of students' perceptions of adopting the innovation of
Web 2.0
technologies in Kuwait. The problem this study addresses is that the current status of
Web 2.0
technologies usage by academic students has remained educationally unknown in Kuwait. Therefore, there was a need to investigate the extent to which academic students in SBE are aware of and their usage of
Web 2.0
technologies, as well as the factors and obstacles that affect using these
technologies. Rogers' diffusion of innovation theory (DoI) is employed in this study to specify the factors that influence student perceptions of adopting
Web 2.0 applications as learning tools. Data used in this dissertation was gathered via a survey instrument from 350 students at the SBE and was statistically analyzed to find out the answers of the research questions. This study identified the low rate of
Web 2.0 awareness and adoption by the students. Descriptive statistical analysis, such as mean scores and standard deviation, were used to analyze and conclude the findings. In the rates of awareness and adoption of
Web 2.0, this study also identified no statistically significant differences between the groups of all the demographic variables except the academic field. The statistically significant differences were identified between the academic variables before and after recoding the academic fields into 5 groups. A t-test and one-way ANOVA were used to determine the statistical significance. Several factors were examined in the study to identify their influence on the rate of adoption. The factors included the rate of awareness, Rogers' attributes of innovations, and the obstacles to adopt
Web 2.0. The multiple linear regression technique was used to find out the percentage of variance that was explained by three groups of predictors. The overall research model explained 49% of the variance on the rate of adoption. The implications of the findings, in addition to adding empirical evidence to the body of knowledge, highlight areas for professional development, educational and institutional changes and possibility for future research.

▼ Centruflow is an application that can be used to visualise structured data. It does this by
drawing graphs, allowing for users to explore information relationships that may not be
visible or easily understood otherwise. This helps users to gain a better understanding of
their organisation and to communicate more effectively. In earlier versions of Centruflow,
it was difficult to develop new functionality as it was built using a relatively unsupported
and proprietary visualisation toolkit. In addition, there were major issues surrounding
information currency and trust. Something had to be done, and this was a sub-project of
this thesis.
The main purpose of this thesis however was to research and develop a set of mathematical
algorithms to infer implicit relationships in Centruflow data sources. Once these implicit
relationships were found, we could make them explicit by showing them within Centruflow.
To enable this, relationships were to be calculated based on providing users with the
ability to 'tag' resources with metadata. We believed that by using this tagging metadata,
Centruflow could offer users far more insight into their own data.
Implementing this was not a straight-forward task, as it required a considerable amount
of research and development to be undertaken to understand and appreciate technologies
that could help us in our goal. Our focus was primarily on technologies and approaches
common in the semantic web and 'Web 2.0' areas. By pursuing semantic web technologies,
we ensured that Centruflow would be considerably more standards-compliant than it was
previously. At the conclusion of our development period, Centruflow had been rather substantially
'retrofitted', with all proprietary technologies replaced with equivalent semantic
web technologies. The result of this is that Centruflow is now positioned on the forefront
of the semantic web wave, allowing for far more comprehensive and rapid visualisation of
a far larger set of readily-available data than what was possible previously.
Having implemented all necessary functionality, we validated our approach and were pleased
to find that our improvements led to a considerably more intelligent and useful Centruflow
application than was previously available. This functionality is now available as part of
'Centruflow 3.0', which will be publicly released in March 2008. Finally, we conclude this
thesis with a discussion on the future work that should be undertaken to improve on the
current release.

▼ Health information is a valuable resource for citizens which can assist them to navigate healthcare services, and make medical and lifestyle decisions. Increased Internet availability has facilitated convenient access to a wide range of health information resources. However, whilst health knowledge has become increasingly available, many individuals face obstacles when attempting to engage with the information obtained. Research challenges exist in finding strategies to formulate health education that will enhance its usability and efficacy for all citizens. This thesis considers the human factors associated with utilising health information, and the technological challenges associated with delivering health information. This investigation was fulfilled through the completion of four research studies. The research initially concentrated on the use of online health information. The first study investigated the online health information seeking behaviours of health consumers, and determined whether these behaviours could be associated with an individual's health literacy and eHealth literacy skills. The focus then shifted to consider the characteristics of generic patient education and it was proposed that a novel personalisation strategy could enhance the usability and attractiveness of the education. The second study focused on the development of a web-based architecture that created personalised education for diabetic patients. Semantic web technologies, including an ontology and a rule-based personalisation component, were incorporated into the architecture. Subsequently the third study concentrated on the ontological knowledge base and sought to strengthen the validity of this knowledge model. A novel methodology for collaborative evaluation of the ontology was described and evaluated. The final study examined user engagement with different formats of patient education. The study compared the engagement behaviours of individuals that were using either a generic education booklet or electronically generated personalised patient education. The thesis proposes that appreciating the characteristics and aptitudes of citizens can assist with developing effective digital health information services.

The widespread use of Web 2.0 technologies (as blogs, social networks or wikis) by internet users is being increasingly extended to the business arena. This phenomenon led to the concept of Enterprise 2.0 (E2.0), i.e., the exploitation of Web 2.0 technologies and applications to enterprises in order to achieve strong competitive advantages. The impact of E2.0 can be felt mainly in two areas: within organizations, once they enable communication through new dynamic manners of communicate and interact, in order to enhance efficiency and productivity; from companies to customers, suppliers and partners, increasing revenues and customer satisfaction, and promoting cooperation and cocreation to improve services/products. However to implement these technologies within enterprises can be a challenge. Through a survey applied to Portuguese Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) of Excelence this study intent to evaluate the level of implementation of E2.0 on organizations and understand the impact of it on SMEs' internal and external dynamics. The results show the adoption trend of Web 2.0 technologies on SMEs and identify not only the most adopted technologies but also critical success factors (CSF) to implement E2.0.

Organizations increasingly covet knowledge and public recognition. Therefore, their presence in the most popular social networks of today (Facebook, Twitter, etc)assumes an importance never seen before. Social networks allow, without a significant investment, to reveal the past, present and future of every organization and achieving, simultaneously, a wide range of social strata and age levels in the public.
Being a public structure with a significant history in the cultural landscape of the country, the Theatre National Dona Maria II is positioned as ideal object of study taking into account that, at the present, it does not have a significant presence in social networks. Thus, this project aims to elaborate, based on the literature review and a benchmarking of some of the European national theaters, a proposal for the use of social networks by Dona Maria II National Theater. The proposal should be made in a segmented manner and taking into account the specificities of each social network: Facebook, Twitter, Blogs and Youtube. All these networks are important tools for dissemination, effective and with low investments needs, that if used adequately, they have the potential to enhance the communication between the organization and its public.
It is also important for organizations to have indicators and ratios that enable them to measure the effectiveness of their actions vs. the use of social…

▼ In the context of a society were the Web is present in many aspects, there is asignificant amount of visually impaired users whose experience is far from beingsatisfactory. There are technologies aiming this problem but still with no full suc-cess. The problem addressed in this project is the existing gap between the visuallyimpaired users and the solutions being offered to them. As a solution to this problem,a middleware prototype is developed. It acts as a web application so the user doesnot need to install anything. The middleware also offers different adaptations to theuser such as amplifying lens, text narrator, and others. The solution was tested byvisually impaired users and it received an overall positive result. Some features likethe amplifying lens received a good value and some of them need further improve-ment.

▼ The Pew Research Center (2015) reported that 74% of the Internet users use social networking sites worldwide. Studies have provided evidence that social media is promising for increasing collaboration and cooperation in project –based learning. However, few empirical studies investigate the use of social media in educational settings, especially in the Middle East. This study investigates factors and barriers affecting the attitudes toward using social media in one of Saudi Arabia’s universities, King Abdul-Aziz University, Jeddah, with the intent of understanding when and how social media can best be used to support learning. The hypothesized model was developed through the social learning theories of Bandura and Vygotsky, the Technology Acceptance Model of Davis, and the Diffusion of Innovation model of Rogers. Five hundred ten students (214 male and 296 female) participated in an electronic survey, and its findings reveal the students have positive attitudes (M= 3.99, SD=.76) towards using social media to support learning. The most frequently used tool by students was WhatsApp (M= 4.60, SD=.88), with which students have the highest experience (M= 4.58, SD=.84). Students reported facing two major barriers when utilizing social media which are some of the social media contents are against the students’ religion (M= 4.12, SD= 1.1) and concerns about privacy and security issues related to the usage of social media (M= 3.72, SD=1.19). Only five predictors were significant determinants of attitudes of the students including: perceived ease of use, perceived usefulness, subjective norms, experience with Skype, and age. There was a significant relationship between the overall attitudes of the students and their intentions, with r(508)= .67, p=.00. As social media tools continue to attract students’ attention, more research on developing effective instructional methods for using social media to support students’ learning, with consideration of cultural and religious aspects, is needed.

▼ Information Systems (IS) have become an important issue for watershed management. Large amounts of data have been collected, and several models and tools developed to visualize and analyze the data. Much of the data and models, collected by
individual researchers or research groups, are not integrated since the data are stored in local databases, and models are not easily accessible or applicable to other environmental systems. It takes an enormous amount of work to transform and understand
the data and models, so that they can be explored and utilized within other information systems. Developments in internet technologies such as web services provide interfaces for easy integration of data, digital resources, and tools from various
sources. Improvements in client and server-side scripting languages (e.g. AJAX, Javascript) make interactive content (e.g. visualization tools, online mapping), user interaction, rich user interfaces and desktop-like applications for data analysis and
visualization possible on web browsers. In principle, water quality can be managed through an integrative perspective on watersheds, facilitated by a web-based information system. This dissertation presents a prototype of a web-based Information System
for Georgia watersheds called ‘GWIS: Georgia Watershed Information System’. The primary purpose of GWIS is to record and present the work of the Environmental Process Control Laboratory (EPCL) of the University of Georgia, whose purpose in turn was to
develop the monitoring and modeling of the water environment required to move towards a "smart" urban water infrastructure. As a prototype, GWIS has been developed initially to demonstrate capabilities and boundaries of an online information system from
basic to advanced tools for the research community. The system is developed in a way to make adaptation of its components and structure easier in the light of new technology. Once it is populated with the necessary data and tools, GWIS can serve a
management-oriented function. Several data management, modeling, visualization, mapping and resource management tools for watersheds, as well as interfaces for integration across diverse and dispersed data sources, are included in the system. As its
initial point of departure — to provide substantial and specific content — GWIS has been populated with the high-volume high-quality (HVHQ; near continuous) water quality data acquired during field monitoring campaigns between 1998 and 2008 with the
Environmental Process Control Laboratory (EPCL) of the University of Georgia.
