一般にWeb検索システムは仮想的・平均的なユーザにとって有益な情報を提供できるよう設計されている。しかし、現実にシステムを利用するのは多様な個々のユーザであり、求める情報の傾向もそれぞれに異なる。検索要求に対してシステムにより提示される検索結果には、一般的には有益であっても、あるユーザの検索目的には明らかにそぐわないものも多数含まれ、ユーザはそういった情報をひとつひとつ選別していかねばならない。本研究においては、個々のユーザが求める情報により少ない労力で辿り付けるよう、ユーザの検索行動履歴からそのユーザが求める情報の傾向を判断し、それをキーワードのクラスタリングに反映させる検索補助システムを設計し、実装した。
