1. Mira, Francisco Jos Nunes. Validao do Sexual Self-Disclosure Questionnaire numa Amostra Portuguesa.

Communication is a key construct in the study of conjugality. Sexual self-disclosure - as in the the act of informing the partner about ones intimate preferences - is a crucial indicator to understand the effect that communication about sexual life has on the sexual conjugality. The present study focuses in the validation of a sexual self-disclosure questionnaire, the Sexual Self-Disclosure Questionnaire (SSDQ; Byers & Demmons, 1999) in the Portuguese population. A total of 663 subjects, aged between 18 and 74 (M = 32.61, SD = 9.26) participated in this study. The data collection protocol was constituted, in addition to the SSDQ, by a sociodemographic questionnaire and by the EASAVIC (Narciso & Costa, 1996). The results show that the Portuguese version of the SSDQ has good psychometric qualities, namely in terms of factorial and convergent validity as well as good reliability, therefore being suitable for use in a research context.

2. Alves, Brbara Azevedo.

Fatigue comprises a subjective feeling of tiredness with behavioral, emotional and cognitive components. The aim of this study was the translation, cultural adaptation and validation of the Fatigue Assessment Scale (FAS) into Portuguese. We also aimed to verify its psychometric properties (reliability and validity), so that it can be used as a specific instrument for assessing fatigue in adults with children up to 24 months. In this study, 182 participants were recruited, of both genders. The evaluation protocol included a socio-demographic data sheet for parents and the child, as well as a clinical data sheet. The instruments used in the protocol were the Edinburgh Postnatal Depression Scale (EPDS) and the EUROHIS-QOL-8 along with the FAS. The overall Cronbach?s alpha was 0.87 for a total of 10 items. The factorial structure of the scale comprised one factor. Convergent validity was shown through a significant negative correlation (r = -.53) with quality of life and divergent validity through a significant positive correlation (r = .56) with depression. The psychometric qualities of the scale, considered to be acceptable, point to an instrument with potential for use in research in Portugal.
