▼ Problem – The construction industry builds the engine of a nation’s economy. In unstable times like these, knowledge of how to keep this sector healthy is vital. One way of doing so is to use the main driver of the 21^st century economy – leadership. Yet, there is little research to be found regarding the connection between leadership and growth in a construction sector context. Though, it is important for companies to know and execute this tool to use it as an advantage in this highly competitive market. The government is one important driver for growth, though its linkage on how to support the construction sector is weak. Research question - How is leadership connected to sustainable growth in the construction industry, using two different approaches – seen from a company’s and governmental perspective? Purpose – The purpose of this study is to find patterns, differences and similarities of how leadership affects sustainable growth among Swedish and Austrian construction companies. Further, the thesis should contribute to the research field, which has to be expanded to cover the construction industry. Method – An abductive approach was chosen to collect secondary data about leadership in relation to growth in the construction industry to gain a broader but also deeper understanding of the topic and comply with the purpose of this study. The empirical data was built as a case study, consisting of four companies and governmental institutions. The information was collected by using a qualitative approach in the form of almost exclusively interviews and one focus group. Conclusions – This study shows that all companies and governmental institutions accept leadership as an important driver for growth. The concepts of leadership and growth are interlocked with many factors. The chosen drivers of growth showed that the company, which actively wanted to grow, used leadership to enforce those drivers in particular. Innovation was one growth driver, which set Beta, the growing aspirant, apart from the other companies, which do not want to grow anymore. Leadership was executed by offering support, understanding and commitment. Both Swedish and Austrian governmental institutions provided a growing region for the companies and aspire continuous growth for the region. Yet, they had no direct influence on the companies’ growth performance.

La montée en puissance de l’économie chinoise rencontre ses limites : la durabilité de la dynamique dans le développement. Bien que ce soient des problèmes potentiels pour tous les pays, la Chine a-t-elle la possibilité de briser le goulot d'étranglement de son développement? Dans ce travail, nous nous intéressons à la dynamique d’innovation et au développement durable en Chine. Pour développer soigneusement cette problématique, nous nous engageons dans les étapes suivantes : Dans une première partie, nous faisons une étude sur les concepts de l’innovation, le système d’innovation, et du développement durable. Dans une deuxième partie, nous retraçons l’évolution économique de la Chine, pour mieux comprendre l’impact du changement institutionnel sur l’actualité et sur le futur; nous étudions ensuite la limite du développement durable en Chine, et plus concrètement les problèmes environnementaux. Nous analysons les politiques, les traitements des problèmes environnementaux et les comportements des entreprises. Avec des études de cas sur des PME, le but est à la fois tester la dynamique d’innovation dans les PME - la base de l’économie chinoise, et aussi de répondre à la question : la mode de développement des PME permettra-t-il de soutenir le développement à long terme du pays ? Dans la troisième partie, nous étudions la propriété industrielle et l’innovation en Chine. Dans cette thèse, nous établissons un diagnostic de la durabilité du développement économique et sociale de la Chine.

The rise of the Chinese economy encounters its limits: the durability and the dynamic in her development. Although these are potential problems for all countries, but China, can she break the bottleneck of the development? In this work, we focus on the dynamics of innovation and sustainable development in China. To develop the topic carefully, we will with the following steps: In the first part we will study the concepts just like innovation, system innovation, and sustainable development. Inthe second part, we will take a little time on the economic development of China, to better understand the impact of institutional change on the current and the future, we will then study the limit for sustainable development in China, more specifically, on environmental issues, we analyze the policies, treatment of environmental problems and results thereafter, we will do two case studies on SMEs, the aim is to test both the dynamics of innovation in SMEs - the basis of the Chinese economy and also to answer the question: the mode of development of SMEs, it is to support sustainable development in the long run the country? In the third part, we will study industrial property and innovation in China. In this thesis, we will develop a diagnostic-analysis of sustainability in the economic and social development of China.

▼ This research focuses on the development and implementation of agricultural innovations that will ensure food security of small scale farmers in rural areas in South Africa. Its overall goal is to develop a strategy how to set up an innovation platform (IP) in Giyani, South Africa that also stimulates sustainable economic growth. The innovation platform is a new way of arranging and managing relationships of relevant stakeholders within the local agricultural innovation system in Giyani which depicts an innovative business model in the region. It enables the stakeholders to collaborate on new business opportunities and find solutions for the increasing food demand of the growing population and the threats of the unpredictable climate on the regional farming grounds. For this innovation platform to be an economically stimulating part of the agricultural innovation system its opportunities and barriers and how to overcome these need to be analyzed. However, there is little theoretical background to which to refer on this matter in general, let alone the north-east region of South Africa. Therefore this research applied a comparable case study approach that considered three case studies describing how to set up an innovation platform in South Africa and Rwanda. The case studies are analyzed from an agricultural innovation systems perspective taking structural, dynamic, and external components into account. A further cross-case analysis between the three studied cases established the key aspects for setting up an innovation platform which are the facilitation of the innovation platform and the cooperation of its relevant stakeholders. Based on these results a four-step strategy to set up an innovation platform is defined that includes (1) the analysis of the environment, (2) the set-up of the innovation platform, (3) the implementation of the innovations and (4) the monitoring and evaluation of the entire process. Based on this strategy the well-functioning innovation platform in Giyani can be established and will stimulate the development of agricultural innovations and therewith sustainable economic growth. ▼ This dissertation investigates the role of sustainable innovation as well its drivers, conditions and impact on triple bottom line performance of firms. This research examines this phenomenon through the lens of the dynamic capabilities theory, and is secondarily informed by the organizational learning and market orientation viewpoints. This dissertation addressed the primary research question: how do firms effectively pursue sustainable innovation and how does such innovation impact triple bottom line performance? The aim was to uncover strategic, climate, leadership and market drivers of sustainable innovation, investigate the role of organizational processes such as learning and unlearning—and their impact on sustainable innovation, as well as determine the impact of sustainable innovation on triple bottom line performance and whether any boundary conditions moderate this relationship. The methodology by which the theoretical framework was tested was through an empirical survey distributed among members of various LinkedIn membership groups. The participants in the study were all situated in roles focused on sustainable innovation within their organization. The analysis was conducted using Partial Least Squares (PLS) path modeling via SmartPLS. The findings indicate that sustainable innovation requires an organization-wide configuration focused on behaviors and activities such as learning and unlearning. Additionally, it demonstrates that those activities are driven by an organization’s climate and the activities of its leadership. Specifically, the findings suggest that fostering an environment that is high in trust and focused on sensing the needs of its customers and stakeholders is critical to organizational learning and unlearning, which in turn leads to effective sustainable innovation. Additionally, assigning an internal sustainability champion and encouraging market-oriented behaviors also have a significant impact on the innovation process. Finally, a significant relationship between sustainable innovation and triple bottom line performance indicates that these initiatives do pay off for the firm. This research offers implications for theory and practice. With regard to theory, it offers a capabilities-based approach to understanding innovation in a new and encompassing context. For practice, it offers many guidelines for firms looking to meet the needs of their stakeholders (e.g., the local community, shareholders, and employees) by becoming more sustainable. Cette recherche-action est consacrée au développement durable appliqué au tourisme. Elle débute par l'analyse des textes fondamentaux pour connaître l'essence même de la durabilité. Elle se poursuit par l'analyse de la prise en compte du concept par les acteurs liés au tourisme. Elle se termine par des préconisations opérationnelles pour faciliter l'application du concept, en s'appuyant sur des expériences variées, menées au sein de territoires, d'entreprises et de formations. Cette recherche nous a semblé utile car nous sommes conscients de l'aggravation des problèmes environnementaux et sociaux de la planète, et de la part de responsabilité du tourisme. Nous avons observé, en 15 ans d'expériences, que des acteurs œuvrent en faveur de nouvelles formes de tourisme, moins prédatrices pour l'environnement, plus performantes socialement. Malheureusement ces initiatives sont souvent fragiles, marginales et marginalisées. Les raisons sont multiples. La plus fondamentale à nos yeux est le manque de savoir-faire pour qu'elles deviennent significatives. Celui-ci impose un changement de culture et de pratiques et l'application de valeurs universelles au service de la stimulation et de l'autonomie, dans une logique de coopération généralisée. L'économie n'est pas oubliée dans cette recherche. Aujourd'hui, le tourisme en France perd en compétitivité, en se basant sur des standards et des normes engendrant une concurrence effrénée entre les destinations et les entreprises. Il convient de changer de modèle pour favoriser une offre territorialement intégrée, diffuse, diversifiée, créative, inspirée, innovante, reposant sur des valeurs, une offre capable de répondre aux attentes des touristes et des citoyens.

This action research is focused on the concept of sustainable development applied to tourism. It starts with an analysis of fundamental texts in order to know the essence of sustainability. It goes on analysing the taking into account of this concept by the tourism-concerned stakeholders. It ends with operational recommendations in order to facilitate the appropriation and application of this concept, relying on various experiments taken within territories, businesses and training courses. This research sounded useful, for we are aware of the worsening of environmental and social problems on the planet and of the part of responsibility taken by the tourism activity. It seemed useful, since we have observed, over 15 years experience that stakeholders work to develop new forms of tourism, less predatory for environment and socially more performing. Unluckily, those initiatives often remain fragile, marginal and marginalised. The reasons are varied. The most fundamental one for us is a lack of know-how in making them stronger, more numerous, more significant. This know-how implies a change in culture and practices, and the application of values linked to universalism, at the service of stimulation and autonomy, in a generalized logic of cooperation. ▼ This report, An Experimental Evaluation of Low Calorific Value Gaseous Fuels as a Heat Source for Stirling Engines, was written by Johan Westerberg as a Master's thesis at Chalmers University of Technology. It covers the topic of MILD combustion of liquid propane gas, G25 natural gas, synthesis gas and landfill gas, of which the latter two represents low calorific gaseous fuels. The investigated engine was a C9G Stirling engine from Cleanergy. The primary incentive to this study was to determine if steady and reliable operation of the C9G Stirling engine could be maintained while using low calorific gaseous fuels. Another incentive to this project was to achieve further understanding of the combustion device, which purpose is to supply the Stirling engine with heat. Thus, an understanding of the changed characteristics caused by varying the air to fuel ratio was targeted. Engine operation by use of landfill gas, made up by 20 percent methane in carbon dioxide and nitrogen, was successful at the lowest load setting allowed by the C9G engine, generating 1:5kW of shaft power. For liquid propane gas and G25 natural gas, up to 10:9kW of shaft power was generated. Combustion of synthesis gas was not attempted due to the hazard of carbon monoxide poisoning, caused by insufficient ventilation in the test cell. Apparent changes in energy ows and temperatures within the combustion device at varied air to fuel ratios suggest that incomplete combustion prior to the heat sink of the Stirling engine was an issue, especially at low to moderate air to fuel ratios. Further, a reversed ow direction through the ue gas recirculation cavities was observed when high ow rates of fuel, which primarily occurs for high load settings and low air to fuel ratios, was supplied to the engine. Consequently, a higher air to fuel ratio resulted in a higher system efficiency for all tested fuels and load settings. Thus, the system efficiency was concluded to be heavily impacted by the air to fuel ratio.

▼ Engine efficiency and transient performance carry a major importance in the automotive industry as they incorporate the two major requirements: fuel consumption and drivability. A major inconvenience for turbochargers constitutes the low response in the low speed region of the engine creating the so called “turbo lag” affecting drivability. Also a large portion of the fuel energy is lost through exhaust gas in a SI engine affecting engine efficiency, fuel consumption implicitly. A hybrid turbocharging assist system is a promising technology for improving both transient response and engine efficiency. This paper studies the possibility of implementing a hybrid turbocharging assisting system on a VEP 2.0 L SI engine. Two modules are studied: electrically assistance for the turbocharger which regards the transient performance and exhaust gas energy recovery which regards the engine efficiency. An electric machine is connected to turbocharger’s shaft through a planetary gear, enabling two operating modes: motor in electrical assistance and generator in energy recovery mode. Transient simulations are performed for the electrical assistance module having three configurations: a standard and a bigger compressor (HP Compressor) and a bigger turbine (HP Turbine). Steady state simulations are performed for the exhaust gas energy recovery module at full load and part load conditions having two turbine configurations: standard turbine and bigger turbine (HP turbine). As a last step of the thesis, a take-off simulation where both modules work together is done for the Volvo XC90. All the modelling and simulations are carried within the framework of GT-Suite. Results from the electrically assistance module show that transient performance is improved by 30% at 1400 rpm, 20 % at 1600 rpm and 16% at 1800 rpm by using the standard compressor configuration. When using the exhaust gas energy recovery system the engine efficiency is significantly improved by using a bigger turbine configuration.

▼ Ett fartyg kan beskrivas som ett isolerat litet samhälle, där grundläggande funktioner och faciliteter som bland annat avfallshantering, vattentillförsel och tillgång till sjukvård måste tillhandahållas. För att arbeta ombord måste varje besättningsmedlem genomgå en utbildning i grundläggande säkerhet, även kallad Basic Safety Training (BST). Utbildningens innehåll styrs av International Convention on Standards for Training, Certification and Watchkeeping for Seafarers (STCW), ett internationellt regelverk som styr utbildning och certifiering av besättningen. Under kursen BST lär sig deltagarna överlevnadstekniker, brandskydd samt första hjälpen. Kursmomentet inom första hjälpen heter Elementary First Aid (EFA) och skall förbereda besättningen på en eventuell första hjälpen insats. I enlighet med International Convention of Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS) skall besättningen utöver utbildning även genomgå regelbundna övningar ombord som hjälper dem att uppehålla kunskaperna. Studiens syfte var att undersöka hur besättning ombord på svenskflaggade färjefartyg uppfattar sina kunskaper och utbildningen inom EFA. En enkät skickades ut till sex olika rederier som bedriver färjetrafik där svaren varierade men var trots det relativt positiva. Det framgick att majoriteten av deltagarna tyckte att utbildningslängden på BST är bra. Lärandemålen anses till stor del vara kända, där endast 9 % av deltagarna anser sig inte veta alls. Det framgick att majoriteten av deltagarna oftast deltar i sjukvårdsövningarna, där de också deltar aktivt efter förmåga. Däremot anses övningarna inte vara helt varierade. Hela 87 % av deltagarna anser sig ha helt till delvis tillräckligt med kunskaper för att föra först på plats vid ett sjukdoms- eller olycksfall. Trots vaga regelverk rörande sjukvårdsutbildning och övningar ombord, och mycket korta och kompakta utbildningstillfällen är deltagarna till större del nöjda med deras kunskaper.

▼ Leakages in water distribution networks is a global problem, with leakage rates up to 50% of the flow [1]. One way to find leakages is to adopt more sensors in the network. Such sensors need electric power that is commonly not distributed with the network. An option is to generate the electricity where it is needed, using small hydro turbines that extract energy from the flowing water and produces just enough electric power for the sensor at each site. The present work provides an automated optimisation procedure for the design of such turbines, and employs it to optimise a turbine with respect to efficiency and kinematic pressure drop at a desired operating point. The automated optimisation loop handles the entire procedure of geometry creation, meshing, simulation, post-processing and optimisation using open source software. The geometry generation and solution procedure is based on a the work by Bergqvist [2], who implemented a Ruby code to generate a parameterised turbine geometry, generated the mesh with cfMesh, and used OpenFOAM to simulate the flow. The present work extends the method by using Dakota to create an automated loop for optimisation, and applies it for water network turbines. The optimisation is done by varying the pitch, number of rotor and stator blades, as well as the hub radius. A steady-state frozen-rotor approach with multiple reference frames (MRF) is used in the simulations. The turbulence is modelled with the k −! SST turbulence model. After convergence studies of the pilot design, the simulations are carried out on unstructured grids with 2 − 3 million cells for the varying geometries. To reduce the computational burden that direct optimisation with CFD simulations implies, a surrogate modelling technique is implemented using the Efficient Global Optimisation (EGO) algorithm [3] [4]. For this, Kringing modelling is used to create a response surface, and division of rectangles (DIRECT) to optimise it and find infill points for further evaluation. 51 sample points, generated with latin hypercube sampling, are simulated before the first abstraction of the objective function is created. After the learning period, 61 additional design iterations are simulated before the algorithm reaches the stopping criteria. In between each of the 61 optimisation designs, a surrogate optimisation is carried out to select the next infill point. The completed optimisation provides a new design that performs at 4.4 percentage points higher efficiency and with 72% lower kinematic pressure drop. The new design features a bigger flow through area and a lower work output that is more adapted to the application with a reduction of 70%.

▼ Hydro power can be recognised as a relatively mature technology of all renewable energies. Efficiency around 90 % are commonly observed in Francis turbines. Since hydro power is relatively cheaper among other power sources, it is used as base power in energy systems. Additionally hydro-power plants are often operated at offdesign conditions, which may lead to cavitation. Accordingly design improvements for improving the efficiency of the turbine at off design conditions are of great interest to designers. Computational fluid dynamics is used often for this analysis for predicting fluid flows as per modified design. In the field of Computational Fluid Dynamics, open source software have developed a significant role in past few years due to economical reasons and providing user access to the source code. In many published works it has been successfully shown that the OpenFOAM solver produces comparable results to commercial codes. Most of the published work on OpenFOAM uses a mesh generated by a commercial software, most commonly on ICEM. As a step further in this thesis work, mesh has been generated on open source software for a typical Francis turbine. The geometry used for this work has been used from experimental rig for Francis turbine at Applied Mechanics Department. Further possibilities of parametrisation in terms of geometry and mesh distribution have been explored. For diffuser complete parametrisation of geometry and mesh is achieved, for guide vane and Runner a structured mesh of acceptable quality has been made. To validate the mesh and mesh generation procedure simulations were carried out various operating conditions to analyse the flow. Two equation RANS models, standard k-e and it's variant RNG k-e model have been used for turbulence modelling. The efficiency of turbine did not vary much with choice of turbulence models. Overall it can be concluded that Open Source Software for mesh generation and CFD simulations can be successfully used for R&D in academia and industry.

▼ The purpose with this work is to develop a high pressure hose with respect to minimise its cost without affect the user-friendliness and its quality. The hose is used to connect a heat- or cooling system to a measuring instrument which generates values that can be used when balancing the system in a way it can work in the most efficient way possible. The problem nowadays is that the hose is too expensive for being a competitive product on the market. The project on order of IMI Hydronic located in Ljung. It’s to their measuring instrument TAScope that the hoses is used. The question formulation during the project has included, where is the cost in the product and what can be done to in the most efficient way minimise these without affect the quality. The above mentioned question formulation led to a reconstruction of the hose became relevant. The reconstruction process led to three different head concepts which by the time where developed after tests and analyses of the concepts. The concepts consist of three different solutions to the connection between the hose and the quick connection. The remaining parts were then selected to fit with the selected concept. In the end one concept was selected by a selection matrix. The selected concept has not been able to be tested due to a custom made tool that was needed to produce the prototype. However, a similar concept has been tested with good test results and indicates good potential in the winning concept. By the cost analysis made, the total price of the new constructed hose had a price which is about 46% cheaper. This percentage is reached by minimising the parts of the hose and bring the assembly back to IMI’s production. The only limitations set before the start of the project was the connections which also is used to the already existing hose. These connections had to be used in the new version of the hose also. Additional costs from sales became a limitation because the work is executed on IMI’s R&D (Research & Development) who doesn’t control selling costs. Since a way to avoid the additional costs between the company which currently assemble the hose is to do the assembly yourself which became one of the goals during the project.

▼ A contactor is an electronically controlled switch used for switching a power circuit. The principles have been the same for a hundred years, i.e. there is a contact system that does the job. The contactor is operated by a control voltage that causes it to open or close. Common applications include starting and stopping of short-circuited motors, purely resistive loads, and bypass applications. These are all usually AC applications. The recent emergence of solar energy applications has increased the demand for products that can also handle DC. The difficulty with DC is to break the current. Unlike a direct current, an alternating current will have a zero-crossing point at every half cycle. During this period of low current, the arc can be extinguished with relative ease by preventing re-ignition of the arc. For DC however, the current remains constant over time and the breaker needs to attenuate the ow of current. When the contacts are separated an electric arc occurs between them which has to be extinguished in some way for the current to be broken. This makes DC breaking extra difficult and special features need to be implemented in order to extinguish the arc and break the current ow. High voltage electric arcs causes significant damage to the electrodes and shorten the lifetime of the contactor. Therefore, minimizing the arc duration time is an important engineering challenge. This thesis is a pre-study of arc extinguishing techniques for a DC contactor. The goal is to be able to break 1500VDC using 4-poles connected in series. This thesis projet is divided into two parts. In the first part of the project, permanent magnets were used to suppress the arc and the simulations were performed in ANSYS Maxwel This report deals with the choice of material for a thermal management product at Mölnlycke Health Care. The aim with the product is to prevent hypothermia during surgery. The goal with this project was to investigate which material parameters that was of interest. The material parameters that were found most interesting were the thermal conductivity, the thermal diffusivity and the ability to keep a stable temperature over time. A model was built in Comsol to study the impact of different materials on the temperature on and in human skin. The simulations showed that water based materials could not spread the heat outside of the heater. In an environment that was not thermally and water isolated, the use of a water based material even led to a decrease in skin temperature. Measurements showed that different types of heaters had different requirement on the interface material. Some different commercial materials were tested and Hollywog, Medema and T ex were found to be most suitable on an iron heater and Hollywog, Medema and Heat sink were found to be most suitable on a an electrical heater. A hydrogel containing 67% water could also be used on the electrical type of heater if the water was not allowed to evaporate. ▼ Innovation can be defined as â The use of non-trivial change and improvement in a process, product or the system that is novel to the institution developing the changeâ (Slaughter1998). And once an innovation is constantly used by an organization on a regular basis, it leads to routinization. Rogers (2003) defines routinization as â when an innovation has become incorporated into the regular activities of the organization and has lost its separate identity.â We also know from the prior research that the innovation could be segregated as per its technical attributes (process or product Innovation), types of innovation (incremental or radical innovation) or economic attributes (direct or indirect economic innovation).Through this study we are trying to observe whether public sector organizations routinize sustainable innovations that are used in the initial projects, and can a relationship be established between the selected attributes of those innovations including process-product, direct-indirect, radical-incremental innovation that may explain their routinization. The LEED Checklist was used as the baseline for studying routinization in public sector organizations. A group of four public sector organizations namely: Arizona State University, University of Florida, City of Austin and City of Seattle were selected on the basis of the constraints that were identified in the early stages of the study. Upon selecting these organizations the LEED Checklists were analyzed and the routinized credits were segregated. The LEED Checklist we segregated on the basis of the attributes of the innovation. To confirm the accuracy of the sorting process an Inter-Rater Reliability was established with the help of an expert panel. The results determined from the segregation process were made to overlap on the routinized credits from the LEED Checklist and the data retrieved was used for the final analysis. During the process of establishing the final results for this research, we segregated the general credits from the prerequisites to avoid any skewing of the results considering that both types of credits were based on different concepts. The results show that public sector organizations do routinize sustainable innovations that were used in the initial projects, and incremental innovation diffuses faster than the radical innovation; product innovation diffuses faster than process innovation; and direct economic innovation diffuses faster than the indirect economic innovation. Nous y abordons le thème de l’économie de la connaissance, à travers le prisme de plusieurs études de cas. Nous questionnons la valeur d’une co-construction dans une approche transdisciplinaire, entre les problématiques du développement durable et l’apport du numérique. Nous exposons notamment comment un processus de recherche-action a pu engendrer de nombreuses réalisations, produire les livrables requis par de multiples projets internationaux, et d’en capitaliser les résultats afin d’atteindre une architecture technique et numérique globale in fine.Nous exposons une sélection des différentes expériences où les processus de production, de transfert et d’usage des savoirs ont eu lieu. Le champ opératoire concerne la Recherche et l’Education, et plus particulièrement la médiation de connaissances dans le domaine de l’économie écologique. Electric car sharing is gradually expanding as an innovative and more sustainable mobility alternative to private cars. Though, the use of such mobility service has not yet reached the desired levels worldwide despite attracting large number of customers. For car sharing operators, thus, it is imperative to understand the users and their needs beyond the existing demographics and quantitative data in order to design more desirable and useful services that expand customer acceptance and usage rate of such alternative. This thesis is an exploratory study about users’ needs, behaviors, and experiences toward electric car sharing and the service requirements resulting from these dimensions. Using user- centered service design approach, the study focuses in obtaining qualitative insights about users through workshops with focus groups in regards to LEV-pool, a research project that intends to field test a new approach to car sharing by offering small size electric vehicles for local mobility at a large workplace. Based on three user-centered service design methods: customer journey map, personas, and stakeholder map, a visual mapping of users, their needs, behaviors, and experiences, and service requirements is developed. The findings point at different user types with distinct purposes of using car sharing, whose needs for mobility (at work) are affected by external factors such as work activities and job occupation. Their mobility behavior differs in terms of how they interact with car sharing service and is partly influenced by the service offering. In general, users show various experiences toward car sharing systems, and many relate it to technical aspects of the service. In terms of service requirements, the results highlight available vehicles at the needed time, simple and easy booking system with many features responsive to users’ needs, maintenance and cleanliness of vehicles, effective communication of service offering, and simple pricing schemes. The underlying user dimensions explored show as relevant in shaping the users’ evaluation of a service and their decision to use a certain mobility alternative.
