遮音壁は、わが国における道路交通騒音の一般的な伝播経路対策であり、一般的に現地組み立てによって設置される。その構成部材として、殆どは面材として分割された遮音パネルであり、遮音壁の減音性能を左右するのは遮音パネルによるところが多い。次に現行の遮音壁における問題点を挙げる。1つ目は音響性能とその評価方法の問題点である。遮音パネルの性能評価基準値として音響透過損失が設定されている。しかし測定時には、パネル間の継ぎ目に粘土等を覆って設置するのが通例となっている。また、ポリカーボネイト板(板厚5mm)など旧型の透光板は低剛性で音響透過損失も小さいため、高い壁に採用される場合では、パネル放射(音響透過)の影響が懸念される。2つ目は遮音壁構造の問題点である。遮音壁の必要性能を満足するためには、遮音パネルが隙間無く設置されていることが前提だが、その継ぎ目には隙間埋めなど特別な処理は施していない。その結果、遮音壁の現地設置構造は隙間からの漏洩音が懸念される。さらには、性能評価時と現地施工時の設置状態は合致しているとは言いがたく、性能評価結果が現地施工時に期待できるか疑問である。3つ目は設置に対する問題点である。一般的に遮音壁の設置は建設工事と変わりなく、施工業者も音響の専門家では無い工事業者が行うことになる。結果として、遮音壁の音響性能を無視した施工をされる可能性は否めない。これら問題解決の第一段階として、問題の根本となる組み立て方式の遮音壁構造による性能劣化要因について着目し、要因に対する影響を検討する必要がある。そこで本論文では、組み立て方式遮音壁の主な性能劣化要因として、性能劣化の影響が大きいと想定される a)隙間からの漏洩、b)パネル放射に着目する。本論文では2つの性能劣化要因について、フィールド調査・数値解析・模型実験といった観点から検討を行い、性能劣化が生じる場合の性能評価について検討を行うことを目的とする。次に本論文の構成を示す。第2章では、既設の遮音壁に設置された遮音パネルを対象としたフィールド調査を行い、既設遮音壁における隙間と音響性能の関連性を考察する。第3章では、数値解析で適用する2次元境界要素法(BEM)と、BEMと有限要素法(FEM)の結合解法について定式化を説明する。第4章では、遮音壁構造を対象とした2次元BEMを用いて、パネル間に発生した隙間による性能劣化を検討する。第5章では、結合解法を用いて、隙間に加えてパネル放射音も考慮した場合の遮音壁の性能劣化を検討する。また模型実験を行い、数値解析手法の妥当性を示す。さらに、道路交通騒音に対して遮音壁の性能劣化について示す。最後に、パネル放射に対する遮音壁の性能改善について、一手法を提案する。第6章では、これまでの内容をまとめ、今後の課題と展望を示す。
