Koncový efektor, vnitřní úchop dílů, robot; End-effector, inside part gripping, robot Advisors/Committee Members: Kubela, Tomáš (advisor).

Subjects/Keywords: Tato práce řeší konstrukční návrh koncového efektoru pro uchopení hliníkových odlitků. Práce obsahuje návrh efektoru s vnitřním úchopem pomocí paralelogramu; výpočet uchopovací síly efektoru a volbu pneumatických prvků. Výsledkem je efektor s vyšším zdvihem čelistí oproti kupovaným variantám.; The thesis deals with design of the end-effector for the gripping an aluminous casting. Thesis includes design of the end-effector with inside grip using parallelogram mechanisms. The the-sis also includes calculation of gripping forces and choice of pneumatic parts. The final result is the end-effector with higher stroke of jaws against to off-the-shelf products.

Subjects/Keywords: This master thesis is focused on the design project for the city library of Prizren. Taking into account the development that this type of objects had and continues to have in all European cities; the general understanding is that such an object is missing in the city of Prizren; a city with ancient culture and tradition. Aiming to achieve a design which is in accordance with the highest architectonic values and also with the specified location; in the first part of the thesis; the specifics of the existi; Magistrska naloga je povezana z zasnovo načrta mestne knjižnice Prizrena. Subjects/Keywords: Today’s world is more complex than ever before. Negotiations that were once focused on one or two isolated issues now encompass multiple sectors and an increasing number of parties. Negotiators must constantly make decisions based on uncertain and changing information – decisions that often have irreversible impacts on relationships and deal outcomes. Training policymakers; business leaders; and nonprofits to negotiate in an evolving 21st century has never been more important or challenging. Dragonfly Negotiations & Consulting is a client-based company that works with organizations in order to impart negotiation and leadership skills. Dragonfly provides training for clients that are focused on advancing social change within their respective fields – organizations that are often operating on the cutting edge of complicated social policies. Dragonfly; along with the vast majority of other negotiation consulting firms and academic negotiation courses; primarily relies on simulations to teach negotiation skills and lessons. Simulations; a form of experiential learning; are particularly prevalent in negotiation training given the important role that soft skills and social processes play in mastering the field. Yet despite the increase in complexity found in today’s realworld negotiations; simulations have failed to similarly evolve. This report seeks to answer how Dragonfly can best design and implement simulations that teach its clients to negotiate in an exceedingly complicated world. In order to do so; a gap-analysis of presently available simulations was performed; derived by creating a framework that isolated the architectural components found in different types of negotiation simulations. These findings indicate that though a substantial number of simulations involve multiple parties and nonscorable interests; very few simulations contain the dynamic complexity of real-world negotiations. To form recommendations for how Dragonfly can design future complex simulations; the unique features of real-world negotiations were identified and combined with pedagogical theories deconstructed from existing simulations. Supplementing these recommendations; this report provides a proposed simulation example that incorporates a new; complex design; as well as potential criteria to evaluate the success of future simulations. To assist Dragonfly in implementing these recommendations; a barriers analysis was conducted to help overcome potential issues.

57502. Sobrino, Luca. Predictions of precipitation reaction mechanisms for 7xxx series aluminum alloys cast by CDS technique.

Degree: MA, Mechanical, Automotive, and Materials Engineering, 2014, University of Windsor

Subjects/Keywords: The need to reduce the fleet fuel consumption is pushing the automotive industry to reduce vehicles weight. In this context high strength aluminum alloys are a viable alternative to the heavier steel currently adopted. In particular 7xxx series wrought alloys; thanks to their excellent strength to weight ratio; are drawing the attention of carmakers. The development of the Controlled Diffusion Solidification (CDS) technique allows now the casting of these alloys into near net shapes; thus reducing all the costs related to the manufacturing process and making them attractive. Because of the completely different microstructure resulting from the CDS process; a new design of the heat treatments is required to achieve the best mechanical properties. This project therefore evaluates the macro and microhardness evolution of CDS cast 7xxx alloys in T4 and T6 conditions to predict their precipitation sequence; thus providing useful information for the heat treatments design.

Subjects/Keywords: Packaging is an important element responsible for brand growth and one of the main rea-sons for producers to gain competitive advantages through technological innovation. In this re-gard, the aim of this work is to design a fully autonomous electronic system for a smart bottle packaging, being integrated in a European project named ROLL-OUT. The desired application for the smart bottle is to act as a fill-level sensor system in order to determine the liquid content level that exists inside an opaque bottle, so the consumer can exactly know the remaining quantity of the product inside. An in-house amorphous indium–gallium–zinc oxide thin-film transistor (a-IGZO TFT) model, previously developed, was used for circuit designing purposes. This model was based in an artificial neural network (ANN) equivalent circuit approach. Taking into account that only n-type oxide TFTs were used, plenty of electronic building-blocks have been designed: clock generator, non-overlapping phase generator, a capacitance-to-voltage converter and a comparator. As it was demonstrated by electrical simulations, it has been achieved good functionality for each block, having a final system with a power dissipation of 2.3 mW (VDD=10 V) not considering the clock generator. Four printed circuit boards (PCBs) have been also designed in order to help in the testing phase. Mask layouts were already designed and are currently in fabrication, foreseeing a suc-cessful circuit fabrication, and a major step towards the design and integration of complex trans-ducer systems using oxide TFTs technology; Capacitance-to-voltage converter; Comparator; Oxide TFTs circuit integration; Domínio/Área Científica::Engenharia e Tecnologia::Engenharia dos Materiais
