 現在,インターネットが社会インフラとして定着しその通信量は急速に増加し続けている.総務省の調査によると平成23年度末時点で日本国内における一世帯あたりのインターネットの普及率は86。0%となっており,平成24年5月の時点で日本国内において発生するトラヒック総量は推定で1.73Tbpsに達している.トラヒック総量に関して言えば,1昨年同時期(平成23年5月時点)と比較して14.1%増となっている[1].このように日本のネットワークトラピックは増加の一途をたどっている.急激なトラヒックの増加は,通信事業者やインターネットサービスプロバイダ(ISP:Internet Service Provider)の安定的なネットワーク運用の妨げとなり,大規模な通信障害の引き金にもなり得る.トラヒック増加による通信障害を防ぐには,将来のトラヒックを予め予測する事が重要であり,特に短期的には1日のピークのトラヒック量と,その時間を予測する事が重要である. 本稿では,ネットワークにおける通信障害を防ぐ足がかりとして,任意のネットワーク上を流れるトラヒックを短期的に予測する研究を行った.本稿での,予測対象として日本のインターネットバックボーンの中核である,日本インターネットエクスチェンジ[2]上を流れるトラピックを予測対象とし,将来の1日分(24時間分)のトラヒックを予測した. 具体的な予測法としては,一定期間収集したトラピックデータに対して特異値分解を行うことにより直交成分を得て,その直交成分を元に短期的にトラピックデータを予測する.また,予測当日新たに得られる5分間隔のデータにより逐次的にトラヒック直交成分の重みを更新し最適な予測を得るアルゴリズムを提案する.
