This thesis seeks to examine the structural factors that influence the development of tourism at the national level, with a focus on Malaysia. Tourism in Malaysia emerged later than in its neighbouring countries such as Singapore, Thailand and Indonesia. This is because the primary source of foreign-exchange earnings before 1985 came from commodities and the manufacturing industry. Only after a severe economic recession did Malaysia consider the tourism industry as an alternative to broaden the country’s economic base. Ever since, with an efficient marketing and planning strategy, Malaysia has become the most visited country in Southeast Asia after Thailand. In gross national product (GNP), tourism ranked second after manufacturing, contributing approximately 34 per cent of the total GNP of Malaysia in 2005. To understand the factors that influence tourism development in Malaysia, this study has chosen a qualitative method because it involves answering questions pertaining to ‘what’, ‘why’ and ‘how’, which can provide a wealth of profound and detailed information on the issues being investigated. As the qualitative method is the root for the interpretive paradigm, this study has chosen bibliographic research as its research method, as the information gathered for this study is from published material and data were analysed using content analysis/NVivo 8.0. The findings from this study indicate that Malaysia’s planning in the tourism industry appears to exhibit characteristics consistent with the stages of Butler’s Tourism Life-cycle Model in that Malaysia has undergone the stages of exploration, involvement and development. This study discovered that Malaysia’s strength has been in its four marketing areas (product, price, promotions and distribution channel). However, the last marketing areas, planning and implementation, were not receiving full cooperation from some of the stakeholders, rendering the long-term marketing objectives unachievable. This indicated that competitive advantages may arise, but if resources are imitable, competitive advantage is not sustainable. The marketing strategies that have been employed by Tourism Malaysia for short-term and long-term objectives indicate that Malaysia has constantly considered its core resources (e.g. nature and culture), created resources and supported resources (e.g. accessibility, quality of service and market ties) and capabilities that are capable of attracting visitors in a consistent manner (see Table 3.7). This study contributes to the theory of tourism in Malays and provides practical perspectives. From the theory perspective, this study validates the importance of integrating a resource-based view (RBV) and Butler‘s development theory in underpinning the country’s degree of competitive ability in tourism. ▼ O aporte teórico utilizado para esta dissertação tem como base a
RBV e as discussões sobre a importância dos recursos intangíveis em determinados setores. Dada a questão de intangibilidade, as pesquisas quantitativas apresentam um certo grau de dificuldade, mas ao mesmo tempo um desafio enriquecedor para o campo. Assim, esta pesquisa tem como objetivo geral, propor uma escala de mensuração e avaliação dos recursos intangíveis de restaurantes gastronômicos. Para tanto, foi construída uma escala de recursos intangíveis: i) reputação; ii) cultura; iii) recurso relacional e iv) recurso humano organizada em oito etapas, entre eles destacam-se a realização de trezes (13) entrevistas semiestruturadas que geraram os itens da pesquisa, em seguida validação de face e conteúdo com cinco (5) especialistas e a aplicação do questionário por meio de um link enviado por e-mail a gestores de restaurantes, que finalizou com 65 empresas respondentes. Inicialmente, a escala gerou 101 itens que após a purificação foram reduzidos para 69 distribuídos em: 24 itens para reputação, 19 itens para cultura, 14 itens para recurso relacional e 12 itens para recurso humano. De modo objetivo, a construção da escala gerou dimensões antes não contempladas nos estudos, oferecendo contribuições importantes para suprir a carência nos estudos sobre restaurante e da própria teoria e encorajando novas investigações e aprimoramento para o trabalho.

▼ The enterprise resources are always reviewed for certain reaction activities to the target products and marketing, which should be the same preparation as FPC Company is targeting to develop automotive application products and market. This case study is
subject to how to distiguwish and identify the core competences among the valuable resources of the case company.
This study is built on the theory of
RBV (Resource-based View) to analyze the differential of each automotive application against to the each different resource as like production capability, process capability, human resources or anothers. The automotive application of FPC can be defined to 5 categories as like; Infotaiments, Switchs, Sensors, Powertrains and Lightings.
The results of this study are expected to conclude the below contributions;
1. The developing priority sequence of the automotive application for the case company;
2. The core competence of case company on the targeting automotive application;
3. The possible developing direction of automotive application in the future.

▼ Esta investigação tem como finalidade, apresentar e entender os fatores
determinantes dos países emergentes, como os compreendemos e a sua análise na
complexidade no desempenho das empresas.
Para poder compreender esses determinantes é necessário analisá-los na ótica da
RBV. Através da perceção dos recursos possíveis e indispensáveis e do saber aplicá-los
de forma diferenciadora, a possibilidade de obter-se vantagem competitiva na relação
das instituições com o meio envolvente e seus concorrentes é significativa. É necessário
implementar uma estratégia de criação de valor que faça gerar oportunidades, reduzir
erros e desenvolver as empresas, tendo capacidade de eficiência como resposta.
Segundo Barney (1991), seria bastante improvável que empresas inseridas na
mesma indústria e que dispusessem exatamente dos mesmos recursos, apresentassem
performances diferentes. Tal situação mostra-se improvável, tendo em vista que todas
as empresas dessa indústria teriam acesso aos mesmos tipos de recursos, estando, assim,
capacitadas a implementar as mesmas estratégias de criação de valor.
Desta forma, o estudo baseia-se em três hipóteses fundamentais: a primeira trata
da importância da localização (Distribuição), em termos geográficos, logísticos e o
acesso a matérias-primas, como fatores de influência no valor quantitativo do produto
com relação aos mercados
Enquanto a segunda hipótese centra-se na perceção de capital intelectual
(Aprendizagem), na criação de formações e quadros especializados, como forma de
competitividade e estratégia de negócio. Desenvolve-se meios de resposta efetiva em
diversas áreas e compreende-se como a informação pode-se transformar em
conhecimento estratégico e eficaz, num mercado em constante evolução.
Por último, a terceira hipótese apresenta a capacidade de organização das
instituições (Formação Organizacional) e analisa a forma da empresa ser influenciada
pelo meio envolvente, seja em contexto económico, tecnológico, sociocultural ou
político-legal, com base em clientes, concorrentes, fornecedores, a própria comunidade
num meio transacional. Tal fato obtém-se através do acesso ao direito dos créditos e
acordos fiscais, incentivos que permitem a ajuda financeira às instituições.A estas três hipóteses iniciais agrega-se outras quatro, sendo elas: Produtos e
Serviços, Processos, Reputação da Empresa e da Marca e Estratégia Geral, segundo o
estudo das correlações à performance.
Por fim, é realizada uma abordagem investigativa a uma empresa angolana através
de um estudo de caso, com o intuito de demonstrar a realidade no mercado.

RBV) tem sido, nos últimos anos, alvo de vários estudos empíricos, reconhecendo esta a importância da combinação
recursos/capacidades no contexto competitivo, como o cerne das posições competitivas das organizações nas indústrias onde competem. Contudo e apesar da
RBV ter recebido uma considerável atenção, nos últimos anos, são poucos os estudos quantitativos que avaliem de que modo os recursos e capacidades associados ao valor e raridade dos mesmos podem ou não contribuir para a vantagem competitiva da empresa, e por sua vez para o desempenho.
O presente estudo tem como objetivo evidenciar uma abordagem quantitativa no sector do calçado baseado na combinação dos recursos e capacidades associado ao valor e raridade possam contribuir para a obtenção da vantagem competitiva e desempenho da empresa. Os resultados sugerem que o valor e a raridade da combinação recurso/capacidade das empresas não estão relacionados com a sua vantagem competitiva. Por sua vez, a vantagem competitiva está directamente relacionada com o desempenho, sendo esta um antecedente deveras importante para se alcançar o desempenho. Relativamente à relação entre o valor e a raridade e o efeito mediador da vantagem competitiva, o estudo revela a existência de uma
relação entre estes e o desempenho.

▼ Sammanfattning Bakgrund: Det finns ett stort behov av effektivisering inom kommunal äldreomsorg för att motverka en eventuell framtida skatteökning. Detta behov har uppkommit dels på grund av en förändrad demografi, med ökat antal äldre, men också de svårigheter som finns i att effektivisera tjänster som utgörs av personlig arbetskraft. En effektivisering av kommunala välfärdstjänster får inte medföra någon negativ inverkan på tjänsternas utförande i form av kvalitet. Kraven på tjänsternas utförande och kvalitet tenderar dock att öka i samband med en högre välfärd och bättre levnadsstandard. Genom uppmärksammande av kommunala intressenters olika behov och önskemål är det viktigt att en effektivisering sker både produktivt och ändamålsenligt för att förhindra en skatteökning eller försämrad kvalitet. Det resursbaserade perspektivet, resource-based view (RBV), kan ses som ett effektivitetsorienterat analysverktyg, vilket framförallt nyttjats inom kommersiella företag. RBV fokuserar på organisationens interna resurser och hur dessa kan stärkas, vilket således kan medföra en positiv inverkan på både produktiviteten och kvaliteten. Det finns dock en viss mätningsproblematik inom RBV eftersom de interna resurser som synsättet belyser framförallt är av immateriell karaktär. Syfte: Syftet med denna uppsats är att undersöka huruvida RBV kan utgöra ett lämpligt verktyg vid effektivisering av kommunala välfärdstjänster och på så vis skapa en ökad förståelse om interna resurser och hur dessa kan stärkas. Då RBV fundamentalt utgår från kommersiella företag är uppsatsens syfte dessutom att belysa de faktorer som gör synsättet applicerbart även på offentlig sektor. Metod: Materialet till den empiriska studien samlades in genom triangulering. En förstudie genomfördes för att få underlag till det urval som sedan resulterade i att två äldreboenden valdes ut för att studeras mer ingående. På de två utvalda äldreboendena genomfördes sedan totalt sex stycken kvalitativa intervjuer, varav två med enhetschefer och fyra med medarbetare. Intervjuerna genomfördes med stöd av en temamall vilket medförde en diskussion kring uppsatsens ämnesområden. Med hjälp av intervjuerna identifierades interna resurser som var relaterade till verksamhetens mål och förväntningar från organisationens intressenter. Som komplement till uppsatsens studie har boendenas balanserade styrkort nyttjats. Slutsats: Uppsatsen har belyst de mest betydande skillnaderna vid applicering av RBV på offentlig sektor gentemot kommersiella företag. Interna resurser som arbetssätt, ekonomisk kompetens, tyst kunskap, förmågan att interagera med andra organisationer, förmågan att tillvarata personalens kompetens samt förmågan att skapa en bra dialog mellan personal, brukare och dennes anhöriga har identifierats. ▼ De acordo com os pressupostos da RBV (Resourced Based View ou Visão Baseada em Recursos), a firma deve ser considerada como um conjunto de recursos humanos, financeiros, organizacionais e produtivos que são combinados ao longo do tempo numa conjunção exclusiva e complexa de ser identificada. A partir desse entendimento, depreende-se a questão central da teoria: qual é a combinação entre recursos e capacidades utilizados pelas firmas com desempenho superior para obter vantagem competitiva? Neste contexto, este estudo tem como objetivo compreender como a Santos Brasil, empresa que é referência no setor de logística portuária, faz a combinação de seus recursos e capacidades para obter vantagem competitiva sustentada. Realizou-se uma pesquisa qualitativa com abordagem descritiva nos relatórios anuais de 2007 e 2008 da empresa selecionada. Utilizou-se o disclosure como mecanismo de controle para seleção e categorização das informações estratégicas divulgadas. Os dados foram agrupados com o apoio do software Atlas TI e analisados à luz de um framework teórico derivado da RBV. Os resultados mostraram que são os recursos físicos os mais importantes para a firma, por serem raros, valiosos e difíceis de serem copiados. Concluiu-se que a combinação entre recursos físicos e capacidades organizacionais confere uma condição única para o negócio que tem como propriedade mais importante a dificuldade de imitação, tanto no aspecto de custos como na dependência da trajetória. According to the premises of the RBV (Resourced Based View), the firm should be considered as a set of human, financial, organizational and productive resources, which are combined over time to form an exclusive combination that is difficult to identify. Based on this understanding, the principal question of the theory is: what combination of resources and skills is used by firms with higher performance, to obtain competitive advantage? In this context, this study seeks to understand how Santos Brasil, a leading company in the port logistics sector, combines its resources and skills to obtain sustained competitive advantage. Qualitative research was carried out, with a descriptive approach, using the 2007 and 2008 annual reports of the company selected. Disclosure was used as a control mechanism for the selection and categorization of the strategic information divulged. The data were grouped using the software Atlas TI, and analyzed in light of a theoretical framework derived from the RBV. The results show that physical resources are the most important resources for the firm, as these are rare, valuable and difficult to replicate. ▼ Nesta pesquisa, foi analisado como o sistema de avaliação da Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior CAPES influenciou os programas de pós-graduação stricto sensu brasileiros da área de Administração, Ciências Contábeis e Turismo a adotarem estratégias e alocarem seus recursos na busca do desenvolvimento e aprimoramento dos programas. A pesquisa teve como sustentação teórica os estudos relacionados aos sistemas de avaliação, como os de Maccari (2008) e os estudos relacionados às estratégias, mais especificamente sobre a Visão Baseada em Recursos VBR , iniciada por Penrose (1959). Como características metodológicas, o estudo foi descritivo, documental, exploratório e qualitativo. Como resultados, verificou-se que os programas de qualidade de excelência reconhecida nacional e internacionalmente apresentaram estratégias deliberadas (MINTZBERG, 1978) sistematicamente ao longo dos anos, tendo como foco a melhoria de seus desempenhos no sistema de avaliação da CAPES. Por consequência, trouxeram melhorias de estruturas e disponibilidades de recursos, para que os programas pudessem proporcionar aos seus pesquisadores, condições para que eles tivessem o foco exclusivamente nas pesquisas. Além disso, foi possível verificar três efeitos das estratégias adotadas pelos programas: a) a frequência e o número de mestres e doutores titulados a cada ano; b) o dinamismo na composição (alterações/adaptações) do corpo de docentes; c) consolidação das redes de coautoria de publicações entre os professores do corpo docente do mesmo programa. Constatou-se também que os programas que progrediram consecutivamente entre os anos de 2001 a 2009 e obtiveram as notas seis e sete no triênio de 2007-2009, tiveram como princípio em suas tomadas de decisões, que inclui a escolha da estratégia a ser adotada, os critérios do sistema de avaliação da CAPES.
In this research, it was analyzed how the evaluation system of Higher Education Personnel Improvement Coordination CAPES did influence the Brazilian stricto sensu post-graduate programs of Administration, Accounting Sciences and Tourism areas to adopt strategies and allocate their resources in the pursuit of development and improvement programs. The research was theoretically supported by the studies related to evaluation system, such as Maccari (2008) and the strategies studies, more specifically about the Resource-Based View RBV, initiated by Penrose (1959). As methodological characteristics, the study was descriptive, documentary, exploratory and qualitative. As results, it was verified that excellency quality programs, recognized national and internationally, presented deliberate strategies (MINTZBERG, 1978) systematically over the years, focusing on the improvement of their performance in the evaluation system of CAPES. ▼ Esse estudo tem como objetivo analisar as capacidades estratégicas voltadas para inovação em empresas de Tecnologia da Informação, através de estudo de caso na Softplan, identificando características de modelos de inovação em relação a recursos e capacidades estratégicas, descrevendo um processo de inovação organizacional desenvolvido na empresa e identificando recursos e capacidades estratégicas existentes. A intensidade da concorrência, a rápida globalização e mudanças na área de tecnologia da informação tornam a inovação inevitável para as empresas, como forma de capturar novas oportunidades e prestar mais atenção no desenvolvimento dos produtos e do mercado para manter a vantagem competitiva. Para um eficaz processo de inovação, também se faz necessária a gestão adequada e indivíduos competentes na execução das atividades, sendo importante que a organização envolvida defina uma estratégia e direcione seus recursos, fortaleça suas habilidades de aprender e transformar a aprendizagem em competência, sendo a base para o realinhamento do modelo social da empresa e, consequentemente, para a vantagem competitiva. A empresa Softplan atua no mercado desde 1990, sendo considerada uma das maiores empresas de sistemas de gestão do Brasil. Utiliza tecnologias modernas e inovadoras com foco na indústria da construção; administração pública; projetos confinanciados por organismos internacionais; departamentos de infraestruturas, transportes e obras e judiciário; Ministério Público e procuradorias. Para a realização deste estudo, a fundamentação teórica abordou temas como inovação, tipos e modelos de inovação, recursos e capacidades estratégicas, com ênfase na Visão Baseada em Recursos (RBV), e especificando neste estudo a capacidade de criar conhecimento, a capacidade tecnológica e a capacidade de orientação para o mercado. O estudo caracteriza-se como um estudo de caso qualitativo, e foram aplicadas entrevistas com gerentes da empresa Softplan e Fundação CERTI, utilizando-se um roteiro semiestruturado. Foi utilizada também a pesquisa documental, bibliográfica, exploratória e descritiva, caracterizando como uma análise de conteúdo. Para o estudo teórico e empírico, baseou-se na perspectiva dos seis modelos de Gallouj (2002), como forma de identificar características do modelo de inovação, sendo radical, ameliorativa, incremental, ad hoc, recombinativa e formalização. A análise deste estudo permitiu compreender que o comportamento organizacional na empresa Softplan está voltado para o processo de inovação, observando-se, através de programas desenvolvidos, o quanto se atém no entendimento dos trabalhadores sobre o que é inovação, e como está relacionado principalmente à capacidade de criar conhecimento na empresa, associado também às características estudadas sobre a capacidade tecnológica e a capacidade de orientação para o mercado

▼ En ce qui concerne la perception du tourisme durable, on constate que les directeurs publics ont la même approche ou définition. Mais, en matière de stratégies, les moyens manquent dans tous les domaines pour développer un tourisme durable. De façon plus précise, les contraintes se résument aux cinq enjeux qui sont liés aux ressources humaines, aux méthodes de travail, au cadre juridique, à l'appui institutionnel et financier, et à la sensibilisation publique dans le secteur touristique du Cambodge. Ces insuffisances ont entraîné une exploitation peu réfléchie des potentiels de ressources touristiques et ont provoqué des fuites économiques élevées à l'étranger. Sans planification pensée à long terme, certaines attractions ne sont plus en mesure d'assurer leur durabilité, menant à la dévastation de trésors touristiques, à l’altération des valeurs socio-culturelles et d'identité nationale; ce mécanisme évolutif pourrait conduire à un développement incontrôlé contribuant à dégrader rapidement la communauté locale et l’environnement. Comme le ministère du Tourisme au Cambodge l’a souligné, s'il n'est pas correctement géré, le développement du tourisme permettra d'enrichir une petite minorité tout en excluant la majorité de la population du pays. Dans ces conditions, les directeurs provinciaux chargés du tourisme, en tant que représentants du ministère, jouent un rôle déterminant dans le tourisme durable et influencent directement à la fois le pouvoir politique et la prise de décision locale et même nationale. Leur rôle s’applique à la gestion interne et la coopération externe qui sont fortement dépendantes de la qualification personnelle des individus, c’est les « ressources et compétences ». Cependant, si les directeurs locaux sont aujourd’hui confinés dans un rôle plutôt de gestionnaires, avec de faibles moyens, nous estimons qu’ils pourraient devenir de véritables directeurs locaux susceptibles de faire travailler ensemble les acteurs dans le cadre d’une politique claire.
Current issues concerning the sustainable tourism in Cambodia based on the action of Local Tourism State Actors (LTSA) in terms of Resources and Competences, particularly defining the roles of the LTSA, are systematically explored in this research. The LTSA are the director of provincial or city tourism department who take a lead role in managing a localized tourism industry of the government. The central research question focuses on the “Strategy towards Sustainable Tourism in Cambodia, according to the perceptions of the LTSA”. In investigating to this context, the qualitative methods were used to collect primary data through in-depth interviews (semi-structured) with all the 25 LTSA. The data was further analyzed through a content analysis with a usage of NVivo10, a computer based program for coding or categorizing. This trend has made the advantages of manufacturing of Taiwanese companies disappeared. So the growth of Taiwanese economy that depends on exporting companiesâ products has suffered severe threats. This research studied on Taiwanese companies that have made some achievement in OBM field in the international base on resources-based view. This research studied on how they created and operated their own brands and how they planned their own international strategies of OBM, tried to find out the differences between OEM/ODM and OBM in nature, resources and abilities, and found out the main dimensions that how companies met the gap existing in resources and abilities. This study also tried to figure out the processes how companies with brands built up their OBM business in European markets, and then this study wanted to build a conceptual structure about how a business model transformed from OEM/ODM into OBM. Finally, the study found out another company that is a novice in building international OBM business, and did some analysis and suggestions for it based on the conceptual structure to verify the feasibility of the conceptual structure. The sources of the research data are from second-hand data and from interviewing with the studied companies. I hope the study can be a reference for any companies which want to build their business model of OBM.
The results of this study showed that there is indeed a gap between OEM/ODM and OBM in respects of essence and the needed resources and capabilities. And the studied cases which have their own brands had an extent of similarity in building their OBM business in European markets. Therefore, this study tried to divide the processes of how the studied cases that built their OBM business in European markets into five stages, and every stage has different features and needed resources as well as capabilities. And then did some analysis and suggestions for the case which is a novice in building international OBM business. This study found out that the studied findings had an extent of feasibility and credibility.

▼ Mergers and acquisitions have provided important inspiration for enterprise development. Previous studies have addressed how acquisition integrations are often unsuccessful, but, empirical studies within the special context of Taiwan are rare. This study analyzed panel data from Taiwan and found different definitions of acquisition performance; thus, the results of empirical research differ.
The study initially collected 297 bidding events over 10 years, from 1997 to 2006, that were listed or OTC firms in the TSEC(Taiwan stock exchange) and eventually obtained data on 174 events from the M.O.P.S. (Market observation post system). Employing multivariate regression analysis, event study methodology and the SPSS statistics program, this paper presents three studies as follows:
Study One, from the resource-based perspective, discussed the size problem impact to the post-performance, and the results presented the physical size and the organizational size, the numbers of acquiring employees, reveal positive related and a null relationship respectively. Furthermore, the pre-acquisition productivity of acquiring employees is negative related to post- acquisition sales growth.
Study Two, prior studies used accounting-based post- acquisition performance measures, such as CAR for the short-term and ROA for the long-term, but this study used the marketing perspective and sales growth as the performance index. From the standpoint of new industries and sustainable operations in the context of Taiwan, business development and sales growth should give more consideration to firmsâ long-term survival. The results of the study presented a sales-growth-based model that better fits to post-event performance than does the financial-based model in the case of Taiwan.
Study Three, based on the value creation hypothesis in the post-acquisitions, distinguished between related and "relationship" in mergers and acquisitions using value sources, economies of scale, economies of scope and market power. With early responses based more on the performance of ârelationshipâ acquisitions than on related ones, relationship acquisitions were negatively related to post- acquisition performance sales growth.

▼ Ever since the launch of iPad by Apple in 2010, the portable computing devices manufacturers for laptop, netbook and smart phones had been greatly impacted by the pressure of the shrinking market share. All other PC brands have no choice but to follow the footstep by either coming up with similar products or to adapt the new Apple marketing strategy or business model. Regardless of the effort, their challenge of Appleâs leading role in the tablet market is still futile.
WinTel has been dominating the PC industries for almost 30 years until the uprising of the product lines of iPad and iPhone by Apple. They successfully initiate a new movement of technology product advancement. Taking advantage of the ever maturing internet and cloud computing, Apple harnesses the power of APP development in providing new product and new service to its customers and successfully dethrones WinTel from the leader role with a bang of game-changing revolution of IT industry.
Looking at the two major players of notebook computer manufacturers in Taiwan, both Asus and Acer are facing the same dilemma of harsh business environment. Even with the similar root between these two companies, there is a significant difference in their way to deal with the challenge and different outcome. The purpose of this research is to recognize the fundamental difference in the strategy between these two companies, identify areas where Acer and Asus are failing. Furthermore, this study will provide suggestion to gear new direction and new strategy. The end goal is to provide solutions to these Taiwanese PC manufacturers and let them be visible in the global market and be a major player again.

This study applies basic theories of resource utilization, SWOT analysis, user cases study to examine the data collected and objectively investigates where the issues of both companies exist.
It is concluded that: Asus has been concentrating their effort in new product R&D as their own recognition of strength. Their weakness is being too R&D oriented without understanding the need of the consumer market. In addition, being a perfectionist in R&D make them miss the quick turnaround and not able to launch new product in time to capture the market space. Acer, in contrary, should look into their strength and leverage that for their new product development. Moreover, the compensation for their senior management should be reviewed and revised with emphasis on heightening the management of the company.

The thesis adopts methodology of case study and semi-structured interview, and knocks around survival strategies, innovation issues and innovative activities of small- and medium-sized steel companies. Four objects represent four quadrants. Consequentially, four propositions are proposed.
Proposition 1: Companies with weak core competence and few innovative activities are suggested to introduce less complex or small-scale innovative activities for the sake of strengthening and accumulating resources.
Proposition 2: Companies with weak core competence and various innovative activities are suggested to introduce technical, marketing, and service innovative activities simultaneously for the sake of maximizing the leveraging synergy.
Proposition 3: Companies with strong core competence and few innovative activities are suggested to introduce partial vertical integration for the sake of maximizing oligopoly effect.
Proposition 4: Companies with strong core competence and various innovative activities are suggested to introduce scale economy as well as technological, marketing, and service innovative activities for the sake of maximizing the leveraging synergy.
This research result remains helpful in terms of survival strategies, innovative issues, and innovative activities for small- and medium-sized steel companies.

▼ The main type of the enterprise in Taiwan is small and medium size businesses (SMEs). There are more than 97% of the enterprises belonging to small and medium size businesses in Taiwan. Because of the quickly changing of the global environment, it is a big issue for Taiwanese SMEs to find their strategic position and establish the sustainable competitive advantages. In the field of management, the concept that is ââHidden Championââ appeared in the recent year. The concept described the SMEs that may be not well known but their market share is the number one. It may provide a new strategic direction for Taiwan SMEs to learn and imitate.
This study will use case analysis method to find the hidden champion in Taiwan. Taiwan Golden Bee (TGB) has a high market share in the ATV industry and will be the case in this study. By in-depth interview and collecting secondary data, this study will find how TGB established its sustainable competitive advantages and became a hidden champion through using the resources-based view.
Finally, this study will establish a model of TGB from establishing its sustainable competitive advantages to becoming a hidden champion. This model will provide a way for SMEs in Taiwan to setting their direction to growth.

Moreover, looking for the potential ability to catch up with what we lost. ▼ Mobile device has become a very important part of peopleâs everyday life. The number of people using smartphones, tablets and laptops significantly increase everyday, this means sales through internet will continue to increase. Â E-Marketer, a leading research firm in e-business shows a report that predicts sales of B2C through e-commerce will reach 2.3 trillion dollars in 2017. Especially in Asia-Pacific region, it is expected to contribute to more than half of overall global sales. Moreover, the report of the situation of B2C online shop in Taiwan from MIC shows that online stores will develop new retail business model instead of price competition.
   The cost of building an e-commerce platform is lower than opening a retail store makes online business a very potential market, led to competition between e-commerce platforms become more and more intense. Therefore, features that e-commerce platform can offer seems to allow big companies enjoy position on this winner-takes-all game. But recently, there are some different type of e-commerce platforms that comes up, such as Kuo Brothers which sells products in vertical e-commerce market, itâs products line range from daily necessities, food, 3C products (computers, communication, consumer electronics) etc.
This research use theory of Resource Basic View, Network theory, Value Chain and Marketing Mix to analysis three vertical e-commerce platforms namely Kuo Brothers, Pinkoi, and honestbee. These three companies all expand in different area. This research found that these company all operated without warehouse, focus on selecting products and supplier, their main target customer are mostly female, the co-founders all have relevant extensive experience in e-business and all of these companies have new varieties in terms of service different from the normal horizontal e-commerce platform.

▼ A implementação de estratégia vem sendo objeto de estudo há décadas e continua sendo um tema relevante, especialmente quando se considera que as variáveis ligadas à implementação de estratégia explicam muito mais a variância no desempenho das empresas do que aquelas ligadas à formulação de estratégia. Apesar disso, os pesquisadores apontam que os executivos ainda conhecem muito mais sobre a formulação de estratégia do que sobre como implementá-la. Muitas empresas não alcançam seus objetivos ou sequer chegam a implementar totalmente suas estratégias devido às dificuldades que enfrentam durante a etapa de implementação, o que é confirmado pelos resultados de uma pesquisa global demonstrando que, de cada cinco empresas pesquisadas, três não conseguiram colocar em ação suas estratégias e decisões operacionais (NEILSON; MARTIN; POWERS, 2008). Assim como necessitam desenvolver capacidades de fabricação ou de marketing, é plausível supor que as empresas também precisem desenvolver capacidades específicas para implementar suas estratégias. A proposta deste trabalho é examinar a implementação de estratégia a partir da perspectiva das capacidades organizacionais, no âmbito da
RBV (Resource-based View), na medida em que esta trata do desenvolvimento de vantagens competitivas como resultado do ajuste e alinhamento dos elementos internos da organização em resposta às demandas e oportunidades do ambiente externo. Para atingir os objetivos propostos, foram examinados processos de implementação em duas organizações do setor alimentício, utilizando a metodologia de estudo de caso. Buscou-se entender o processo de desenvolvimento de novas rotinas e capacidades organizacionais e/ou transformação das existentes, bem como sua utilização na implementação de estratégia. Observou-se que, a fim de viabilizar a implementação de seus respectivos planos estratégicos, as duas empresas precisaram desenvolver a habilidade de articular as rotinas de implementação, compreendendo: a) avaliação das rotinas organizacionais existentes; b) desenvolvimento de novas rotinas; c) articulação das rotinas e a alocação dos recursos tangíveis e intangíveis durante o processo de implementação de estratégia; e d) conciliação da interação entre as operações produtivas regulares e as rotinas destinadas a implementar as novas estratégias. Identificamos que esta capacidade de articulação das rotinas de implementação de estratégia foi a principal responsável pelo sucesso da implementação das estratégias de ambas as companhias.

▼ Corporate portfolio risk analysis is of primary concern for many organizations, as the success of strategic objectives greatly depends on an accurate risk assessment. Current risk analysis methods typically involve statistical models of risk with varying levels of complexity. Though, as risk events are often rare, sufficient data is often not available for statistical models. Other methods are the so-called expert models, which involve subjective estimates of risk based on experience and intuition. However, experience and intuition are often insufficient for expert models as well. Furthermore, neither of these approaches reflects the general information available on projects, both expert opinions and the observed data.
The goal of this dissertation is to develop a general corporate portfolio risk analysis methodology that identifies theoretical causal relationships and integrates expert opinions with the observed data. The proposed conceptual framework takes a resource-based view, where risk is identified and measured in terms of the uncertainty associated with project resources. The methodological framework utilizes causal networks to model risk and the associated consequences.
This research contributes to the field of risk analysis in two primary ways. First, this research introduces a new general theory of corporate portfolio risk analysis. This theoretical framework supports risk-based decision making whether through a formal analysis or heuristic measures. Second, this research applies the causal network methodology to the problem of project risk analysis. This methodological framework provides the ability to model risk events throughout the project life-cycle. Furthermore, this framework identifies risk-based dependencies given varying levels of information, and promotes organizational learning by identifying which project information is more or less valuable to the organization.

Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) have become one of the important drivers of the Hong Kong economy to stimulate innovation and create employment (HKSAR, 2012). As sparse studies were evident in the literature related to SMEs in the Hong Kong context, this dissertation aims to fill this gap by exploring the impact of firm resources and entrepreneurial orientation (EO) on the export performance of SMEs in Hong Kong. Thus, this study seeks to understand which resources (i.e., human capital; management commitment; access to capital; organizational resources) and entrepreneurial orientation are most critical to the export performance of small firms. Apart from examining the EO-performance relationship, the external environment is a source of uncertainty. Thus, the moderating effect of market turbulence on the relationship between EO and export performance of SMEs will be investigated. This research aims to contribute to the theoretical and empirical knowledge involving the identification of the resource determinants of export performance of SMEs in the perspective of resource-based view (RBV). The central proposition of the RBV is that a firm’s superior performance relative to other firms can be achieved by acquiring, managing and exploiting firm-specific resources. RBV has proven to be a sound theoretical base, and this study extends the existing empirical literature by testing a resource-based model of export performance. Apart from being an influential framework in the strategic management field, RBV has been widely used in entrepreneurial studies to explain firm performance. Given Hong Kong’s unique entrepreneurial environment, it is definitely an interesting context to study. This study uses a cross-sectional, quantitative design based on data collected using anonymous survey questionnaires from 108 Hong Kong SMEs. The major findings indicated that the resource dimensions of human capital and management commitment were most critical to SMEs. Interestingly, EO was only significant in the manufacturing sample but not the overall sample, and unlike previous research, market turbulence did not moderate the EO-performance relationship and only slightly moderated the relationship in manufacturing SMEs.

O modelo Resource Based View (RBV) consiste em utilizar os recursos existentes na empresa de forma a atingir a sustained competitive advantage (SCA), ou vantagem competitiva. Para conseguir obter e manter esta é necessário possuir valuable, rare, inimitable and nonsubstituable resources and capabilities (VRIN). No entanto este modelo não explica de forma clara como obter esta SCA em high velocity markets, aqui entram as dynamic capabilities (DC), ou capacidades dinâmicas.
As capacidades dinâmicas são um conjunto de capacidades e competências que permitem à empresa criar novos produtos e processos que respondam às necessidades de um mercado em constante mutação.
Dentro das capacidades dinâmicas podemos identificar três core processes, aprendizagem, reconfiguração e coordenação e integração.
Dado o crescimento exponencial observado nos últimos anos na área do online gaming surgiram várias empresas no mundo e em Portugal, tentando aproveitar este mercado em aberto.
Neste trabalho foram selecionadas as três empresas nacionais de online gaming de maior reconhecimento e analisadas as capacidades dinâmicas utilizadas pelas mesmas. De modo a compreender a visão do cliente em relação às empresas foi realizado também um estudo nesse sentido.
Destacam-se as incidências de cada empresa em cada um dos três core processes, tornando assim possível a criação de um modelo perfeito para a indústria nacional, caso exista partilha de informação e apoio interempresas.

▼ Because of weak growth in Taiwan economy, the firms are facing the operation pressure coming from growth stagnation and inventory problems. In order to solve this problem or dilemma, Taiwand firms began to expand overseas markets, especially in Vietnam market. This study will discuss which way the firms operate in the overseas market in Vietnam, and propose a complete competitive strategy analysis and implementation from the perspective of resource base and customer value.
This study takes the case company as an example, by using the interview method and data collection, relevant strategic tool (SWOT analysis and resource base theory) and customer value, to analyze operating activities in Vietnam. From internal and external resources view and interview data, the study will illustrate the operating strategies of the case companies in the ASEAN countries, the Vietnamese market, to reduce the operation pressure coming from growth stagnation and inventory problems.
The result shows that the characteristics and competition of aluminum indurstary are as same as other indurstary. There is full of price-oriented competition in aluminum indurstary. The case company that wants to stabilize existing customers and expand the potential of the Vietnamese market customers must decide competitive strategy, from the view of customer, to solve the competitive pressure of growth stagnation and inventory problems.

▼ It has been recognised that exporting is an engine for growth at both country and firm levels. However, the challenging nature of international business often prevents companies from entering and surviving in international markets. In the Small and Medium-size Business context, lack of resource is normally the main reason behind the inability of firms to overcome export barriers. In recognition of the issue and for promoting exporting, the governments have been offering the so-called Government Export Promotion Programmes (GEPPs) to act as “resource supplements”. While there have been extensive practices, the mechanism and effectiveness of these programmes have not been thoroughly explored and analysed. In some academic studies, criticisms and doubts about these programmes have been raised. Against this background, the thesis investigates the working mechanism of these programmes and tests their effectiveness in terms of export initiation, performance and regularity. Using an extended version of the Resource Based View, two integrative and comprehensive conceptual models are developed in order to reveal the indirect impacts of GEPPs on export behaviour. The models are then tested with a total of 495 completed questionnaires collected from two sample countries; namely, Algeria and the UK. These were analysed through a multivariate analysis using a variance-based statistical technique known as Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modelling. The findings of this thesis are two-fold. First, with respect to the critical resources affecting export behaviour, the study finds that while both Algerian and UK firms’export intention are affected by management resources only, firms’ export performance and regularity are instead mainly influenced by management and organisational resources in the UK and management and relational resources in Algeria. Second, regarding the impact of GEPPs on export intention, the study confirms its indirect nature through the management resources in both countries. However, when it comes to their effect on export performance and regularity, the indirect effect was only established in the UK and mainly through management and organisational resources. These findings have both theoretical and practical implications in that the results have provided empirical evidence on the indirect impact of GEPPs and can serve as an indication in practice for both firm managers and policy makers in deploying key resources for different stages of internationalisation.

▼ Due to the perceived performance implications of green supply chain management, research in this area has grown in recent years. However, the literature is limited on the determinants of green supply chain management and its performance implications. Thus, the literature has yet to furnish an accepted explanation for why green practices are manifested in supply chain management and, whether a positive relationship exists between green supply chain management practices and firm performance.
This dissertation responded to these challenges through exploring the antecedents and consequences of green supply chain management. This dissertation built on the theoretical base of the resource-based view of the firm (RBV) and investigated two potentially important determinants of green supply chain management practices, and how such practices, in turn, shape firm performance. Specifically, a theoretical model was developed that offered hypothesized relationships among the resources of an environmental orientation, a supply chain orientation, and green supply chain management practices, and how these resources relate to firm performance.
Significant results and good fit indices tested with structural equation modeling generated a number of interesting theoretical implications for scholars and practical implications for supply chain managers. The results challenge the current theoretical and operationalization of the green supply chain management construct. The results also show the strategic implications of firm orientations. Finally, for executives and strategists who are concerned about better managing their supply chains, this study provides insights for how firms can develop a competitive edge through the implementation of green supply chain management practices.

▼ The purpose of this thesis is to examine the intra-organisational processes used by businesses operating in the United Kingdom to narrow the gap between their socially and environmentally responsible procurement (SERP) policy and its implementation in buyer-supplier relationships. This is a response both to the wide variety of recent human/labour rights and environmental violations in corporate supply chains as well as to concerns that the corporate policies developed in response to stakeholder pressure regarding such violations may not be sufficient for the effective implementation of their remedy. This examination of corporate efforts to implement SERP policy initiates a line of research aimed at building a theory of internal SERP policy implementation. The theoretical lens used in the component studies of this thesis is a combination of organisational culture and the resource-based view (RBV) of the firm. The former is used to assess how top managers and procurement departments show support for SERP implementation. This is to say that aspects of their cultures are used to perceive this support. The organisational and human resources made available to the procurement department are considered to be the capabilities needed to translate this support into practice. Drawing on data from a survey of 340 buyer-supplier relationships and from two in-depth case studies of businesses operating in the United Kingdom, this thesis contributes both theoretically and empirically to the literature. Prime examples of this thesis‟ contributions include the mapping of commercial processes used to connect stakeholder rights and pressures to procurement activity; the identification of internal subgroups that affect SERP implementation; and the conceptual reconsideration of two core capabilities theorised to facilitate this process. Further research includes the replication of case studies; the consideration of supplier capabilities to implement buyer requirements; and how this research can be more aligned with extant supply chain strategy research.

▼ The study of competitiveness is a subject of much discussion among both academics and entrepreneurs. This means that it is essential for organizations to be aware of the environmental changes taking place, since the concept of open systems is vital for the survival of these companies in the market. Thus, when companies are capable of managing their resources and developing strategies to improve their organizational efficiency and efficacy, it is possible to out-perform the competition. The theme of this study is an analysis of competitiveness based on the availability of cluster resources among furniture manufacturers. Its overall objective is to analyze the extent to which knowledge transfer occurs among companies in the furniture manufacturing region of São Bento do Sul, SC. Theoretical support for the study objectives was sought in various authors who have studied Interorganizational networks, particularly territorial clusters. One of the subjects highlighted in the discussion was knowledge transfer within and between organizations, with the transfer of this resource occurring through the public and intermediary institutions, mobility of the workforce, or relationships of cooperation between companies within the cluster. In the exploratory phase, factor analysis was carried out to identify the dimensions of the knowledge transfer. The descriptive phase outlines the profiles of the participating companies and the results of the study. The sample included a hundred ninety eight producers and suppliers. The results obtained point to the fact that the companies investigated use the dimensions institutions and mobility of the workforce in the knowledge transfer, but that producers perceive this resource more than suppliers. In the other three factors, for the dimension cooperation between companies, it is seen that the companies investigated perceived very little cooperation between them. As a result, both producers and suppliers have the same view in relation to cooperation. In order to identify whether the companys views were homogenous in terms of results, cluster analysis was carried out. In the results, it was seen that the groups are not homogeneous when it comes to cooperation, but they are more homogeneous in relation the factors institution and mobility of the workforce.

▼ Cette thèse traite des fonds d’Investissement Socialement Responsables (ISR) français. D’après la Théorie Moderne du Portefeuille leur performance devrait être inférieure à celle des fonds traditionnels. Cependant des recherches antérieures présentent des résultats contradictoires. Nous choisissons de faire appel à la Resource Based View (RBV) pour interpréter cette incohérence entre théorie et pratique.Nous employons une méthodologie qualitative exploratoire, combinant des entretiens avec une analyse lexicale. Nous validons quantitativement une partie de nos résultats qualitatifs en modélisant la performance d’un fonds ISR par rapport à son indice de référence à l’aide d’une régression linéaire multiple. En se basant sur notre grille de lecture nous pensons avoir identifié deux ressources stratégiques à la disposition des fonds ISR, transformées en avantage compétitif par le biais de deux leviers stratégiques. Les deux ressources sont la compétence du gérant du fonds ISR et la subvention indirecte des frais du fonds ISR par leur Société de Gestion de Portefeuille (SGP). Les deux leviers sont la disposition de la SGP à la différentiation et l’apprentissage organisationnel à l’intérieur de la SGP.Notre recherche présente un triple apport : pour les universitaires, elle offre un cadre théorique alternatif au MEDAF qui expliquerait mieux la performance erratique des fonds ISR ; pour les praticiens, elle nous permet de faire des propositions aux fonds ISR concernant leur organisation ; pour les consommateurs, elle décortique les fonds ISR dans leurs composantes, leur proposant un aperçu non-conventionnel de leurs fonctionnements et leurs motivations.
The focal interest of this doctoral thesis is French Socially Responsible Investment (SRI) funds. According to Modern Portfolio Theory (MPT) their performance should be inferior to “traditional” fund performance. The results from previous research however have been contradicting; we have thus chosen to make use of the Resource Based View (RBV) in order to interpret this incoherency between theory and practice and shed some light into the complex interactions that govern their behavior.We approach the field using an exploratory qualitative methodology, combining interviews with lexical analysis. We validate part of our qualitative results quantitatively through a multiple linear regression of SRI funds’ performance relative to their benchmark. Based on our framework, we believe we have identified two strategic resources available to SRI funds, leveraged into competitive advantage by two drivers. The two resources are the fund manager’s competency and the indirect subsidizing of the fund’s fees by its Asset Management (AM) company. No actual panorama mundial, a internacionalização torna-se essencial para um grande número de empresas. Além de dar resposta aos desafios da globalização, a internacionalização representa também uma solução para os problemas advindos da crise económica. Tal decisão implica que as empresas reúnam um conjunto de recursos, capacidades e competências que lhes possibilitem diferenciar-se no mercado, tendo em vista a obtenção de vantagens competitivas.
Mediante a decisão de internacionalizar a empresa, inúmeros são os desafios que se apresentam pela frente, assim como, as opções de escolha. Entre as decisões críticas a tomar, os gestores devem eleger quais os mercados prioritários e como neles penetrar. Entre os diversos caminhos que se apresentam como possíveis formas de entrada no mercado, a empresa poderá actuar de forma independente, criar subsidiárias ou colaborar com outras organizações.
Não existe uma teoria única capaz de explicar na perfeição o processo da internacionalização. Igualmente, quanto à tipologia dos modelos de entrada, não existe uma solução única, devendo ser analisados os factores de competitividade de forma a possibilitar um crescimento sustentável para a empresa.
É preponderante identificar as forças presentes no mercado, os recursos e capacidades organizacionais e definir a estratégia, ou estratégias, que a organização deve adoptar tendo em vista a competitividade. Pelo que, este estudo tinha como objectivo principal propor um modelo ou metodologias de estratégias de internacionalização que permitissem a construção de vantagens competitivas para as empresas que o venham a adoptar.
Pretendiamos estabelecer e avaliar relações entre um conjunto de variáveis que levam as organizações a tomar decisões estratégicas no que respeita a estratégias de internacionalização alicerçadas na análise desta temática.
Pretendemos ainda que o presente estudo consubstanciasse uma ferramenta de apoio à tomada de decisão por parte dos gestores, que estão a ponderar seriamente internacionalizar as suas empresas, em particular, no sector eléctrico português.
Nesta investigação enveredou-se pela metodologia qualitativa, utilizando o método do estudo de caso único, da maior e mais representativa multinacional portuguesa do sector electromecânico.
Deste estudo foi possível concluir que o conhecimento do tipo de negócio por parte do gestor, como recurso organizacional, influencia positivamente as estratégias de internacionalização e que estas podem potenciar a obtenção de vantagens competitivas, que por sua vez, influenciam positivamente o desempenho das exportações. Assim como, também foi possível deduzir que as características do mercado podem influenciar de forma positiva a obtenção de vantagem competitiva.

▼ The development of PC industry has been more than 50 years, with advances in technology and changes of the environment, PCsâ prices being affordable, are now very high penetration of electronic products. But, they also have resulted in a terrible competitive environment. Global and small PC companies have suffered and got lower gross profit, which would let lots of companies decide whether to stay or continue to operate in this industry. Today, there are fewer PC companies, the negative growth of sales in consecutive years and the new record of its recession in 2013. So, we begin to realize that PCs are really dying? When the whole industry has gone worse, Lenovo run out. Itâs âthe only one PC company in the worldâ can maintain the positive growth of sales. From an obscure company which only can run the business from the government of China, the acquisition of IBM PCD, increasingly large scale, and in 2008 after suffering heavy losses on the turnaround in just a few months, through constantly joint ventures and acquisitions, Lenovo finally got the first place in global market share in 2013.
This study attempts to explore the secret of the success of Lenovo from
RBV and to understand a successful PC company how to get, use the resources and capabilities they have, and form a sustainable competitive advantage in the PCsâ field. The results show that: if PC company wants to keep its competitive advantage much longer, its internal resources and capabilities must be constantly updated, enhanced and to maximize the advantageâs effect of sustainability, unique and substantiation. Secondly, the competitive advantage of PC company gets back to the basic eventually. It shall construct five advantages: âsupply chain, distribution and service, brand, R&D and the relationship to the government. â This five interlock with each other. If you lost one of them, the company will lost more advantages than you think. Thirdly, PC company must pay attention to the stage where it at and the next stage of PCâs industry life cycle. Save for a rainy day. PC company must also identify its competitive position to conduct appropriate activities and strategies based on the industry life cycle.

▼ Fundamentado na Teoria da Visão da Firma Baseada em Recursos (VBR), este estudo teve o objetivo de identificar, avaliar e analisar os diversos recursos (tangíveis e intangíveis) e as diferentes capabilidades encontrados na indústria moveleira de Bento Gonçalves no Rio Grande do Sul (estado que possui mais de 20% da produção nacional e cerca de 30% do total das exportações de móveis, e cujo maior pólo industrial é o de Bento Gonçalves). Fazendo-se inicialmente uma revisão teórica de conceitos-chave da VBR como os de recursos e de capabilidades, este estudo procurou associar a obtenção de vantagens competitivas sustentadas a uma correta determinação da estratégia, baseada no desenvolvimento e na combinação de recursos da firma que sejam valiosos e únicos para o mercado. Este trabalho possui uma relevância tanto teórica quanto prática na medida em que ele procura expandir a aplicação da VBR e propor um framework para a identificação e avaliação de recursos e capabilidades. De natureza exploratória e qualitativa, o método de pesquisa utilizado foi o estudo de casos múltiplos. Foram pesquisadas quatro empresas do setor moveleiro de Bento Gonçalves (uma grande, uma média e duas pequenas) e os principais resultados foram: é possível identificar todos os tipos de recursos, desde os “clássicos” tangíveis até os ativos das marcas e patentes, e competências como o know-how de funcionários. As capabilidades identificadas e analisadas mostraram que o caminho para se atingir uma vantagem competitiva sustentada independe do porte da empresa e do mercado em que ela atua. As conclusões do estudo apontam para uma mudança gradual de ênfase do recurso tangível para o intangível no mercado contemporâneo.
Based on the Resource Based View of the Firm (RBV), this study had the objective of identifying, assessing and analyzing the different resources (tangibles and intangibles) and capabilities found in the furniture industry of Bento Gonçalves, at Rio Grande do Sul (state that accounts for more than 20% of national production and about 30% of total furniture exports, and whose largest industrial pole is the Bento Gonçalves one). Beginning with a theoretical review of the RBV key concepts, such as of resources and capabilities, this study looked for associating the attainment of sustainable competitive advantage to a correct determination of strategy, based on the development and on the combination of the firm’s resources which are valuable and unique to the market. This work has a relevance either theoretical as practical, in the way that it looks for expanding RBV application and considering a framework for identification and assessment of resources and capabilities. Having an exploratory and qualitative nature, the research method applied was a multiple case study.
