Le vieillissement dynamique se manifeste en particulier par le phénomène de Portevin-Le Chatelier (PLC). Il se produit dans les aciers aux environs de 200°C pour des sollicitations quasi-statiques. Dans les aciers au C-Mn, il conduit à une chute de ductilité et de ténacité qui doit être prise en compte dans le dimensionnement des structures de sûreté. L’objectif de la thèse consiste à modéliser le comportement mécanique des aciers au C-Mn en tenant compte du vieillissement dynamique et à prédire leur rupture ductile en présence de ce phénomène. Le comportement mécanique du matériau étudié, un acier au C-Mn, a été caractérisé par des essais de traction simple. Le modèle KEMC implémenté dans le code de calculs par éléments finis Zébulon, a été identifié sur ces essais : l’effet de Portevin Le-Chatelier (PLC) a été correctement simulé sur les éprouvettes lisses, entaillées et CT. Nous avons montré l’importance des conditions aux limites dans la manifestation du PLC. Pour la rupture ductile, l’application du critère de Rice et Tracey (identifié à 20°C) sur les éprouvettes entaillées AE4 montre que la prise en compte du vieillissement dynamique dans le comportement ne suffit pas pour avoir une bonne prédiction de la rupture. Des études micromécaniques de croissance de cavité indiquent que les localisations de PLC peuvent favoriser la croissance et la coalescence de cavité. L’écrouissage apparent, qui dépend du durcissement par la déformation mais aussi du durcissement provenant du vieillissement dynamique, modifie la vitesse de croissance de cavité, mais pas le taux critique de croissance de cavité. On identifie une loi d’endommagement dont les paramètres dépendent de la température à partir des calculs micromécaniques. Le nouveau modèle donne une meilleure prédiction que le modèle de Rice et Tracey sur les éprouvettes entaillées AE4 et a permis de prédire un creux de ténacité sur les éprouvettes CT. Pour améliorer les prédictions, la loi d’endommagement doit dépendre de la vitesse de déformation.

The dynamic strain aging is manifested especially by the Portevin-Le Chatelier (PLC) phenomenon. It appears in steels around 200°C at quasi static solicitation conditions. In C-Mn steels, it leads to a drop of ductility and of toughness which should be taken into account in the design of safety structures. The thesis aims to model the mechanical behavior of the C-Mn steels taking into account the dynamic strain aging and to predict the ductile fracture of these steels in the presence of the phenomenon. The mechanical behavior of the material studied, a C-Mn steel, was characterized using tensile tests. The KEMC model, which was implemented in the Finite Element program Zébulon, was identified using these tests: the Portevin-Le Chatelier (PLC) effect was correctly simulated on the tensile specimens, the notched specimens and the CT specimens. ▼ IMI 834 is a near- Ti alloy used in high temperature applications such as compressor discs and blades of aero engines. Titanium alloys including IMI 834 are known to exhibit dynamic strain aging (DSA) over the temperature range of 623-773K. However, the interplay between DSA and creep has not been previously studied in detail in titanium alloys. The objective of the present study is to probe creep mechanisms and phenomenology at intermediate temperatures in IMI 834 where DSA is expected to play a prominent role. Coupons of IMI834, cut from a hot rolled rod, were heat treated to obtain a microstructure of 80% equated , 15% of lamellar and 5% . The heat treatment was optimized to ensure Si retention in the solution as it is known to affect DSA in titanium alloys. Constant strain rate tests carried out in tension over a range of temperatures and strain rates identified the DSA regime in the temperature range of 623-823K as determined by serrated behavior in stress-strain curves and negative strain rate sensitivity. The dislocation structure in this domain is dominated by jogged screw dislocations in slip bands. Strain accumulation is shown to depend on conservative jog glide along the length of screw dislocations due to line tension forces. We have tried to predict this domain of DSA using Friedel’s model for breakaway stress, i.e. the stress required to break free the dislocations from solute atmosphere, using estimates of solute concentration accumulating at the edge jogs on arrest during thermally activated glide of the jogs at static solute obstacles. There is a good agreement between model and experimental data showing a DSA peak in the temperature range of 673-723K. The solute species responsible for DSA is estimated to be Si and C, but dominated by C in this temperature and strain rate regime. Creep behavior of the alloy was explored over similar temperature regime in tension. Over this temperature range, especially at lower temperatures, very low strain rates below the resolution limits of the strain gauge were reached before the onset of steady state and therefore current work is primarily focused on primary creep behavior. Different types of primary creep behavior were observed with temperature and stress. Anomalous primary creep behavior has been observed in the form of an abrupt decrease in strain rate beyond certain critical strains, as well as in a stress insensitivity of instantaneous strain rates on loading at 673K. At higher temperatures of 773K, conventional behavior showed strain rates approaching a steady state value. Dislocation structure in primary creep was again dominated by jogged screw dislocations. At the strain rates associated with creep, our model shows that transitions occur in jog glide from solute breakaway controlled glide to solute drag controlled glide and then again to thermally activated glide over static solutes with increasing temperature. L'alliage 718 est le superalliage le plus utilisé industriellement du fait de ses excellentes propriétés mécaniques, ainsi que de sa tenue à l'oxydation et à la corrosion dans une large gamme de températures et de modes de sollicitation. Néanmoins, cet alliage présente une sensibilité vis-àvis des phénomènes de corrosion sous contrainte et fissuration assistée par l'oxydation sous contrainte dans les gammes de température de service. Les mécanismes à l'origine de ce phénomène restent encore mal compris, cependant un lien entre le changement de mode de rupture et les domaines d'apparition d'instabilités de l'écoulement plastique est clairement établi. Au cours de cette étude nous avons étudié ce phénomène d'instabilités, effet Portevin Le Chatelier, de l'alliage 718 au cours d'essais de traction menés dans une large gamme de températures et de vitesses de déformation. Différents domaines d'instabilités ont pu être mis en évidence, dont les caractéristiques suggèrent l'interaction des dislocations avec des solutés de différentes natures : interstitiels aux plus basses températures, et substitutionnels pour les températures les plus élevées. Des essais de spectroscopie mécanique sur l'alliage 718 et des alliages de compositions voisines montrent un effet de la mobilité des atomes de molybdène au sein du matériau dans cette gamme de températures. Des essais dédiés à l'étude des phénomènes d'interaction entre plasticité et oxydation ont aussi été réalisés. Les résultats mettent en évidence un fort effet de vitesse sur les propriétés mécaniques de l'alliage 718 en atmosphère inerte et sur les caractéristiques de l'endommagement intergranulaire assisté par l'oxydation lors d'essais sous air laboratoire. La discussion engendrée par l'ensemble des résultats présentés permet d'émettre certaines hypothèses sur les couplages entre mécanismes de déformation et endommagement par l'oxydation à l'origine des phénomènes de fissuration observés.

Alloy 718 is the superalloy the most widely used in industry due to its excellent mechanical properties, as well as oxidation and corrosion resistance in wide range of temperatures and solicitation modes. Nevertheless, it is a well-known fact that this alloy is sensitive to stress corrosion cracking and oxidation assisted cracking under loading in the range of temperatures met in service. Mechanisms explaining this phenomenon are not well understood: nevertheless, it is well established that a relation exists between a change in fracture mode and the apparition of plastic instabilities phenomenon. During this study, the instability phenomenon, Portevin-Le Chatelier effect, in alloy 718 was studied by tensile tests in wide ranges of temperatures and strain rates. L'élaboration de nouveaux alliages maintient un fort intérêt pour le phénomène d’instabilité plastique, ou l'effet Portevin-Le Chatelier (PLC), provoqué par l'interaction des dislocations avec des atomes de soluté. Par ailleurs, l'effet PLC attire l'intérêt comme un exemple remarquable d'auto-organisation dans les systèmes dynamiques. Il est associé à des motifs complexes de séries de chutes de contrainte liées à la nucléation et au mouvement des bandes de déformation dans le matériau déformé, et nécessite une compréhension de l'auto-organisation des dislocations. La déformation plastique des alliages Al-Mg est sujette à l'instabilité dans une large gamme de conditions expérimentales. Pour cette raison, les alliages Al-Mg binaires ont longtemps servi d'objets modèles pour l'étude de l'effet PLC. En même temps, l'utilisation pratique des alliages binaires Al-Mg est limitée en raison d’une faible résistance mécanique. Une amélioration significative de leurs propriétés peut être atteinte en ajoutant des solutés supplémentaires, conduisant en particulier à la formation de précipités. En outre, une forte réduction de la taille de grains du polycristal pourrait être une technique clé pour produire des matériaux à haute résistance et ténacité. Cependant, il existe très peu d'information, souvent contradictoire, sur l'instabilité PLC dans les alliages Al-Mg à grains fins et contenant des précipités. Le but de l'étude de cette thèse a été d'étudier les caractéristiques spécifiques de l'effet PLC dans les alliages à base AlMg, avec et sans nanoparticules, à gros grains et à grains fins, ces derniers obtenus par une méthode de déformation plastique sévère. Grâce à l’application de méthodes d’extensométrie locale, notamment de la technique de corrélation d’images, ces études ont révélé une persistance non habituelle de la propagation des bandes de déformation dans les alliages comprenant des précipités et/ou des grains fins. Ce mode dynamique est observé dans un large intervalle de vitesses de déformation, tandis qu’il n’apparait qu’à haute vitesse dans des alliages modèles AlMg. Par ailleurs, l’analyse des distributions statistiques des amplitudes des chutes de contrainte a révélé une tendance vers une statistique en loi puissance, caractéristique du mode de propagation. Ce phénomène est attribué à une modification du couplage spatial entre les dislocations, due à la concentration de contraintes internes. La combinaison de ces études avec l’analyse de l’émission acoustique a mis en évidence une influence de la microstructure sur la compétition entre un facteur aléatoire et la synchronisation des dislocations. Enfin, l’étude par corrélation d’images a permis d’observer une interrelation entre l’instabilité PLC et la formation de la striction.

Récemment, les observations in-situ par laminographie aux rayons X (au synchrotron) montrent que les multiples bandes de localisation sont les précurseurs de l'endommagement et éventuellement de la rupture en biseau. Ces bandes peuvent être liées aux phénomènes de vieillissement par la déformation (type effet de L"uders ou Portevin-Le Chatelier (PLC)) dont l'influence sur la rupture est encore mal compris. Ces effets sont pourtant observés dans de nombreux alliages industriels comme les aluminiums de la série 2000 ou 5000, ou par exemple, dans le cas des aciers C-Mn pour lesquels un creux de ductilité est observé dans la gamme de température o'u ces effets sont les plus marqués.L'objectif de la thèse consiste à caractériser l'effet PLC et évaluer son influence sur le développement de l'endommagement et donc sur la rupture finale. D'abord, l'effet de vieillissement sur l'écrouissage a été introduit dans un modèle basé sur la densité de dislocations en utilisant les résultats dans la littérature. Ensuite, certains alliages d'aluminium de la série 2000 et un acier C-Mn ont été étudiés par essais mécaniques avec corrélation d'images.Le déclenchement prématuré de localisation a été observé pendant les essais de relaxation, de déchargement et de changement de vitesse pour certains alliages d'aluminium.Les bandes autour de l'entaille dans l'éprouvette d'acier C-Mn ont été observées à haute température. Deux modes de rupture différents ont été observés dans les deux températures. Ces résultats sont comparés avec ceux du modèle KEMC. Enfin, un modèle de comportement couplant les effets de vieillissement (type KEMC) et d'endommagement (type Rousselier) a été développé pour tenter d'expliquer les interactions observées expérimentalement entre ces deux phénomènes.

Recently, in-situ observations by X-ray laminography (at synchrotron) show that the multiple localization bands are the precursors of damage and possibly the slant fracture. These bands can be related to the strain ageing effect (L"uders or Portevin-Le Chatelier (PLC)) whose influence on the fracture is still poorly understood. These effects are observed in many industrial alloys such as 2000 or 5000 series aluminium alloys, or, for example, in the C-Mn steels for which a ductility drop is observed in the temperature range where these effects are most pronounced.The aim of the thesis is to characterize the PLC effect and to evaluate its influence on the development of ductile damage and therefore on the final fracture. Durant ces dernières années la déformation plastique est de plus en plus souvent étudiée du point de vue de la dynamique des systèmes complexes, caractérisée par l'auto-organisation et impliquant plusieurs échelles. Le présent travail est une étude multi-échelles de la dynamique collective de dislocations dans un alliage AlMg sujetà l'effet Portevin-Le Chatelier (PLC). Pour atteindre cet objectif nous avons réalisé l'enregistrement simultané des courbes de traction, de l'émission acoustique (EA) et du champ de déformations locales, ainsi que la caractérisation quantitative de la complexité grâce aux analyses statistique et multifractale. Le travail de thèse a permis de montrer que la manifestation apparente des processus de déformation plastique dépend de l'échelle d'observation. L'analyse de l'EA a révélé un comportement intrinsèquement intermittent et invariant d'échelles dans toutes les conditions expérimentales. Ces résultats suggèrent qu'aux échelles associées à l'EA, la plasticité peut être gouvernée par une dynamique universelle, qu'elle soit liée à l'instabilité PLC ou à un écoulement macroscopiquement homogène. Malgré le caractère ubiquitaire de cette observation, le champ de déformations locales montre des processus de déformation ondulatoires, et l'analyse statistique des chutes de contrainte révèle des échelles caractéristiques. Une hypothèse de synchronisation des avalanches des dislocations est avancée afin d'expliquer dans certaines conditions expérimentales le passage de l'échelle mésoscopique à l'échelle macroscopique

In recent years, the plastic deformation more and more often studied in terms of the dynamics of complex systems, which is characterized by self-organization and involves various scales. This work presents a multi-scale investigation of the collective behavior of dislocations in an AlMg alloy prone to the Portevin-Le Chatelier (PLC) effect. To achieve this goal we have performed simultaneous recording of tensile curves, acoustic emission (AE), and local strain field, as well as quantitative characterization of the complexity through statistical and multifractal analyses. The results obtained proved that the apparent manifestations of the plastic deformation processes depend on the scale of observation. The analysis of the AE data revealed an inherently intermittent and scale-invariant behavior in all experimental conditions. These results suggest that at the scales pertaining to the AE, the plasticity may be governed by a universal dynamics, be it related to the PLC instability or macroscopically homogeneous flow. Despite the ubiquitous nature of this observation, the local strain field uncovers wave-like deformation processes, and the statistical analysis of stress serrations reveals characteristic scales. Synchronization of dislocation avalanches is conjectured to explain (under some experimental conditions) the transition from the mesoscopic to the macroscopic scale

▼ Materials when subjected to deformation exhibit unstable plastic flow beyond the elastic limit. In certain range of temperature and strain rates many solid state solutions, both interstitial as well as substitutional, exhibit the phenomenon of serrated yielding which also goes by the name, the Portevin - Le Chatelier (PLC) effect. The origin of this plastic instability is due to the interaction of dislocations with solute atoms. The objective of the thesis is to provide a dynamical systems approach to the study of this plastic flow instability. The thesis work discusses, within the framework of a model, the connection between microscopic dislocation mechanisms and macroscopic mechanical response of the specimen as stress drops in stress-strain curves. An extension of the model to the associated deformation bands is also considered. The emphasis is on the dynamical aspects of the instability. The methods of nonlinear dynamics like geometrical slow manifold and Poincare map formalism are applied for the first time to study the PLC effect. However, the approach and techniques transcend this particular application as the techniques are equally well applicable for many other physical systems as well, in particular, systems involving multiple time scales. The material covered should be of interest to investigators in the materials science, in particular, those, involved in the dislocation patterning and self organization of dislocations. Many theoretical models for the PLC effect exist in literature. Although the physical phenomenon is inherently dynamic, the conventional theoretical models do not involve any dynamical aspect. A dynamical model for this effect, due to Ananthakrishna, Sahoo and Valsakumar provides an explanation in terms of the dynamic interactions between different dislocation species and evolution of densities of these dislocation species. This model is known to reproduce several of the experimental results. It is within the perspective of this model and its extensions we analyze the PLC effect. The macroscopic manifestation of the PLC effect is the repeated load drops or serration in stress-strain curves (beyond the yield point). Each of the load drop is associated with the formation of a spatial dislocation band and its subsequent propagation. From the perspective of a dynamical system, the changeover from the stress-strain curve with single yield drop to repeated yield drops (the PLC effect) corresponds to a Hopf bifurcation wherein equilibrium state changes over to a periodic steady state. These repeated load drops correspond to auto oscillations of the applied stress (in the absence of any periodic driving force). In particular, as implied by the slow loading and sudden load drops, these oscillations are classified as relaxation oscillations. Relaxation oscillations are a result of disparate time scales of dynamics of the participating modes. Les instabilités plastiques désignent une famille de comportements non-linéaires que l’on rencontre dans plusieurs matériaux solides. Elles correspondent à une évolution hétérogène de la déformation sous un chargement homogène, et se manifestent par un écrouissage irrégulier accompagné de bandes de localisation d’épaisseur millimétrique dont la cinétique est sensible, entre autres, à la température et à la vitesse de chargement. Ce phénomène freine considérablement l’usage des tôles d’aluminium-magnésium dans l’industrie. En effet, il a des conséquences esthétiques et mécaniques néfastes dont il est difficile de prédire l'évolution à l'étape de conception. Des modèles de comportement dédiés peuvent reproduire les bandes de localisation mais peinent à estimer précisément leur cinématique. De plus, ils sont sujets à des complications comme la sensibilité à la discrétisation, un coût de calcul considérable ou encore l’identification expérimentale délicate de leurs paramètres. L’objectif de ces travaux est donc de proposer un cadre dans lequel la cinématique des bandes de localisation est prédite de façon fidèle. Dans un premier temps, l’alliage d’étude est caractérisé par des essais de traction où la cinétique de bandes individuelles est traquée à l'aide de la corrélation d'images numériques. Les quantités d'intérêt sont identifiées à l'échelle non-locale des bandes de déformation : leur géométrie, leur distribution spatio-temporelle, la déformation qu'elles portent et l'énergie qu'elles échangent. S'appuyant sur ces résultats expérimentaux, un modèle de comportement est formulé à l'échelle des bandes de localisation. Il encapsule toutes les conséquences macroscopiques des instabilités plastiques et s’émancipe donc des complications évoquées plus tôt. Finalement, une stratégie numérique est proposée pour la simulation unidimensionnelle des essais, avec pour objectif de démontrer la faisabilité de l'approche. Ce travail constitue une première contribution à la simulation des bandes de localisation au travers d'une modélisation directe de leur cinétique. Les perspectives suggérées portent en particulier sur trois aspects. D'abord, la caractérisation de la cinétique des bandes de déformation à l'échelle inférieure à la nucléation. Aussi, le déploiement en 2D et l'amélioration du modèle proposé pour le traitement robuste de cas industriels. Enfin, l'utilisation du cadre développé pour la prise en charge d'autres physiques non-locales.

▼ In this work, the plastic behavior of Hastelloy X subjected to thermo-mechanical loading is investigated, and the phenomenon of dynamic strain aging is studied under isothermal and temperature jump experiments, using the technique of digital image correlation (DIC). The material of interest, a Ni-based superalloy, is widely used in high temperature applications, and it is important to understand its plastic response in such loading regimes. It is seen that Hastelloy X exhibits serrated or jerky flow behavior at higher temperatures, which manifests as oscillations on the uniaxial tension stress strain curve. This is a consequence of the Portevin-Le Chatelier (PLC) effect, and is characterized by strain bands propagating through the length of the specimen, at specific time intervals, leading to a local increase in strain as the band propagates. Although the existence of a PLC effect in Hastelloy X has been observed before, the current work elucidates the effect of PLC bands on the deformation under uniaxial and biaxial states of stress, and under both isothermal and thermal cycling conditions. Variability in the response at different temperatures is studied locally, through the DIC measurements, and globally through far field measurements, with a relation between the two measurement scales being established. The DIC results, when correlated with the global load-displacement measurements, illustrate the contribution of the PLC effect to the plastic response of the specimen. A section of experimental work is devoted to characterization of the material behavior, and understanding the phenomenon of dynamic strain aging. A qualitative assessment of PLC band characteristics is also discussed. The effects of dynamic strain aging on the reduction of flow stress are investigated under both uniaxial and biaxial loading conditions. Cyclic thermal experiments under the influence of stress concentrations lead to certain counterintuitive phenomena such as greater strain accumulation at lower flow stresses. Dadurch ist der Einsatz dieser Werkstoffe in solchen Bereichen nur eingeschränkt möglich, in denen es auf eine gute Oberflächenqualität ankommt (z.B. Bleche der PKW-Außenhaut). Das Ziel dieser Forschungsarbeit ist es, durch die experimentelle Untersuchung des Mechanismus der Bandbildung und -ausbreitung und deren Simulation einen Beitrag zu einem verbesserten Verständnis dieser Prozesse zu leisten. Dazu werden in dieser Arbeit zunächst verschiedene experimentelle Methoden entwickelt. Dazu gehören die Aufnahme und Auswertung von Thermokamerabildserien, eine Bildkorrelationsmethode zur Bestimmung von Dehnungsfeldern auf Basis von Infrarot- und CCDKamerabildern und der Aufbau eines Versuchstands zur Analyse des PLC-Verhaltens bei lokaler Lasererwärmung. Auf Basis dieser Methoden werden dann die Entstehung und Ausbreitung von PLC- und Lüdersbändern sowie der Wechselwirkung zwischen PLC- und Scherbändern im Probensteg und im Übergangbereich zwischen Steg und Kopf der Zugproben experimentell untersucht. In diesem Zusammenhang wird auch der Einfluss von Temperaturgradienten auf das Ausbreitungsverhalten der PLC-Bänder betrachtet. Parallel zu den Experimenten wird das Verhalten der PLC-Bänder auf Basis der Modelle von Estrin/McCormick und Hähner simuliert. Dabei wird erstmalig die thermomechanischen Kopplung in das Modell eingeführt, um die Rückwirkung der durch die plastische Verformung freigesetzten Wärme bzw. Temperaturerhöhung auf das Bandverhalten zu berücksichtigen. Der Vergleich von Experiment und Simulation zeigt eine qualitativ gute Übereinstimmung bei der Morphologie und Kinematik der PLC-Bänder sowie bei der Scherband-PLC-Band-Wechselwirkung. Durch Berücksichtigung der Temperaturkopplung werden der Ort der Bandbildung und die Spannungs-Dehnungs-Kurve besser vorhergesagt. Der quantitative Vergleich offenbart aber auch Diskrepanzen zwischen dem experimentell beobachteten und dem simulierten Bandverhalten. Sowohl unzutreffend gewählte Werte für die Modellparameter bei der Simulation als auch noch bestehende Schwächen der Modelle selbst sind als Ursache hierfür in Betracht zu ziehen. Les études récentes de la déformation plastique à l'aide de techniques expérimentales à haute résolution témoignent que les processus de déformation sont souvent caractérisés par des effets collectifs qui émergent à une échelle mésoscopique, intermédiaire entre celle de défauts cristallins et celle d'une éprouvette macroscopique. Notamment, la méthode de l'émission acoustique (EA) révèle, dans divers conditions expérimentales, l'intermittence de la déformation plastique, qui se manifeste par une propriété de l'invariance d'échelle, caractéristique de phénomènes d'auto-organisation. L'objectif de la thèse a été d'étudier la structure inhérente de l'EA pour différents mécanismes de déformation plastique, d'examiner sa dépendance à la vitesse de déformation et à l'écrouissage du matériau, et d'appréhender les liens entre les petites échelles de temps, liées à l'organisation des défauts, et celles qui relèvent de l'approche continue de la plasticité. L'étude a été réalisée sur des alliages AlMg et des alliages base Mg, dont la déformation plastique est accompagnée d'une forte activité acoustique et contrôlée par différents mécanismes physiques : l'effet Portevin-Le Chatelier (PLC) dans les premiers et une combinaison du maclage et du glissement des dislocations dans les deuxièmes. L'utilisation de la technique d'enregistrement continue de l'EA ("data streaming") a permis de montrer que le comportement apparent - discrète ou continue - de l'EA accompagnant l'effet PLC dépend de l'échelle de temps d'observation et du paramètre physique étudié. Cependant, contrairement à une vision traditionnelle, il se trouve que l'EA a un caractère intermittent pendant l'écoulement macroscopiquement lisse tant que pendant l'instabilité macroscopique de la déformation plastique. Grace aux méthodes d'analyse issues de la théorie des systèmes dynamiques non linéaires, telles que l'analyse multifractale, une tendance à la transition entre la dynamique invariante d'échelle et les comportements caractérisés par des échelles intrinsèques a été trouvée lors de l'écrouissage des matériaux. Enfin, nous avons prouvé que les distributions statistiques en loi puissance persistent dans des larges intervalles de variation des paramètres, conventionnellement utilisés pour individualiser les événements acoustiques. ▼ Die durch den sogenannten Portevin-Le Châtelier (PLC)-Effekt hervorgerufene, inhomogene und instabile plastische Verformung von metallischen Werkstoffen verursacht eine erhöhte Oberflächenrauheit und kann die Duktilität und Umformbarkeit beeinträchtigen. Dadurch ist der Einsatz dieser Werkstoffe in solchen Bereichen nur eingeschränkt möglich, in denen es auf eine gute Oberflächenqualität ankommt (z.B. Bleche der PKW-Außenhaut). Das Ziel dieser Forschungsarbeit ist es, durch die experimentelle Untersuchung des Mechanismus der Bandbildung und -ausbreitung und deren Simulation einen Beitrag zu einem verbesserten Verständnis dieser Prozesse zu leisten. Dazu werden in dieser Arbeit zunächst verschiedene experimentelle Methoden entwickelt. Dazu gehören die Aufnahme und Auswertung von Thermokamerabildserien, eine Bildkorrelationsmethode zur Bestimmung von Dehnungsfeldern auf Basis von Infrarot- und CCDKamerabildern und der Aufbau eines Versuchstands zur Analyse des PLC-Verhaltens bei lokaler Lasererwärmung. Auf Basis dieser Methoden werden dann die Entstehung und Ausbreitung von PLC- und Lüdersbändern sowie der Wechselwirkung zwischen PLC- und Scherbändern im Probensteg und im Übergangbereich zwischen Steg und Kopf der Zugproben experimentell untersucht. In diesem Zusammenhang wird auch der Einfluss von Temperaturgradienten auf das Ausbreitungsverhalten der PLC-Bänder betrachtet. Parallel zu den Experimenten wird das Verhalten der PLC-Bänder auf Basis der Modelle von Estrin/McCormick und Hähner simuliert. Dabei wird erstmalig die thermomechanischen Kopplung in das Modell eingeführt, um die Rückwirkung der durch die plastische Verformung freigesetzten Wärme bzw. Temperaturerhöhung auf das Bandverhalten zu berücksichtigen. L'objectif de cette thèse est d'étudier expérimentalement les phénomènes de vieillissement dus à la diffusion des atomes en solution dans les alliages d’aluminium et les instabilités qui leur sont associées comme le phénomène Portevin-Le Châtelier ou les bandes de Lüders et de proposer une modélisation de ces phénomènes dans le cadre de la thermodynamique des processus irréversibles. Une étude expérimentale détaillée est alors entreprise sur les alliages d’aluminium AA5083-H116 et AA5182-O. Le comportement du premier présente l’effet PLC de façon prononcée et les deux types d’instabilités sont observées simultanément pour le second. La corrélation d'images numériques et la thermographie infrarouge sont essentiellement employées pour détecter et caractériser les aspects spatiotemporels des instabilités observées. La déformation non homogène due à l’apparition et la propagation de bandes de localisation est mise en évidence. Ces bandes de déformation sont visualisées, permettant à leurs diverses caractéristiques (vitesse, orientation, largeur, vitesse de déformation à l'intérieur des bandes, augmentation de la température à l'intérieur des bandes) d'être mesurées sur des éprouvettes lisses (plates, cylindriques ou prismatiques). Dans le cas des éprouvettes plates, l’effet des épaisseurs de l’éprouvette a aussi été examiné. Les caractéristiques des bandes sont aussi analysées sur d’autres géométries d’éprouvette (entaillées avec divers types d’entailles) à des vitesses de déformation différentes pour exhiber leur morphologie en présence de chargements multiaxiaux. Des simulations non linéaires et tridimensionnelles ont été effectuées en utilisant le modèle de McCormick pour montrer comment la prise en compte des phénomènes de vieillissement, même partielle, permet de décrire les hétérogénéités et le mouvement des bandes de déformation ainsi que de prévoir leurs différentes caractéristiques. Enfin, en se basant sur les mécanismes physiques à la base des phénomènes de vieillissement et en soulignant les limites du modèle de McCormick, un modèle élasto-viscoplastique prenant en considération les phénomènes de vieillissement est proposé dans le cadre de la thermodynamique des processus irréversibles.

The objective of this thesis is to study experimentally the ageing phenomena due to the atoms diffusion in solid solutions in aluminium alloys and associated instabilities as the Portevin-Le Châtelier phenomenon or the Lüders bands and to propose a model of these phenomena within the framework of thermodynamics of irreversible processes. Digital Image Correlation (DIC) and Digital Infrared Thermography (DIT) are essentially employed to capture and characterize the spatio-temporal aspects of these instabilities. Este trabalho apresenta uma reflexão sobre o papel do princípio de Le Chatelier desde a sua criação e algumas implicações no ensino de química. Foram levantados aspectos históricos da evolução do princípio com o objetivo de discutir características como, por exemplo: o caráter universal do mesmo, problemas e limitações quanto à sua aplicação e possíveis alternativas ao uso do princípio. Também foram analisados como os livros didáticos de química no nível médio tratam muitos destes aspectos. Além disto, é realizada uma discussão nestes textos didáticos a respeito das variáveis que influenciam no estado de equilíbrio tais como: concentração, pressão, catalisador e temperatura. Um aspecto presente na análise destas variáveis foi o levantamento de ilustrações presentes nos livros baseando-se nos níveis de representação presentes no triângulo de Johnstone. Os principais resultados mostraram que os autores de livros de Química do Ensino Médio apresentam o conceito do princípio de Le Chatelier marcado por um caráter indutivo, vago, ambíguo, e sem apresentar uma fundamentação teórica e suas limitações, enfatizando-o como um princípio infalível ou uma verdade absoluta. Perpetuou-se no ensino de química, ao longo do tempo, a formulação mais simples e popular criada por Le Chatelier, no ano de 1888. Outra conclusão importante refere-se ao fato de a maioria das figuras presentes nos livros didáticos estar relacionada ao nível macroscópico e a concentração é a alteração mais discutida. Poucas são as figuras que interligam os três vértices do triângulo. Resta ao professor o desafio de incluir as ilustrações faltantes, principalmente as microscópicas pois estas têm o objetivo de explicar aos estudantes o que ocorre do ponto de vista molecular quando se altera o estado de equilíbrio químico. Portanto, este tratamento superficial do princípio pode favorecer processos de ensino-aprendizagem baseados na memorização, repetição e na sua utilização sem a compreensão exata dos fenômenos envolvidos.

This work presents a reflection on the role of the Le Chatelier\"s principle concerned by its creation and some implications in the teaching of chemistry. The main purpose was to analyze as high school chemical textbooks approach with this subject. For this, historical aspects of the evolution of the principle were studied with the objective of discussing important characteristics, for example: the universal character of the principle, his problems and limitations regarding their applications to previse changes in chemical equilibrium systems and the possible alternatives to the use of the principle. It was found that the principle formulations were similar to that more simple and popular wrote by Le Chatelier, in the year of 1888. Estas atividades constituem sempre um certo desafio para os alunos, pois mostram o que acontece ao serem realizadas, mas não mostram porque as coisas acontecem, cabendo sempre ao professor a tarefa de explicar ou ajudar a interpretar. O principal objectivo deste trabalho foi o de desenvolver uma ferramenta de apoio ao ensino e aprendizagem da Física e da Química que permitisse aos alunos realizar atividades experimentais, de forma fácil e aliciante, e em que pudessem experimentar, decidir, executar e partilhar resultados. Os mundos virtuais têm-se vindo a assumir como importantes ferramentas de apoio a atividades didáticas, devido ao potencial oferecido pela visualização tridimensional (3D). Estes aspectos motivaram o interesse pela criação de um Laboratório Virtual 3D recorrendo às potencialidades oferecidas pelos mundos virtuais: idealizou-se um protótipo de um Laboratório Virtual de Física, para o estudo do caso do lançamento horizontal e exploração da atividade laboratorial “salto para a piscina”. Procedeu-se da mesma forma na idealização de um Laboratório Virtual de Química para o estudo do caso da previsão da evolução de um sistema em equilíbrio à luz da Lei de Le Chatelier, a ser explorado na atividade laboratorial “Os efeitos da temperatura e da concentração na progressão global de uma reação”. Por problemas de cariz tecnológico e de disponibilidade de recursos humanos, não foi possível a implementação do Laboratório Virtual de Química. Os objectivos definidos para este trabalho foram atingidos parcialmente, ficando por atingir os relacionados com a aprendizagem colaborativa. Como resultado final deste trabalho, constatou-se que o Laboratório Virtual de Física é uma ferramenta inovadora e de fácil utilização, que proporciona um ambiente de ensino e aprendizagem em que o aluno se envolve de forma mais ativa na construção do seu conhecimento e que ajuda a compreender os conteúdos científicos de forma mais agradável.

Science education is central for the integral education of students, with laboratory activities being highly relevant in building scientific knowledge. These activities always constitute a challenge to students, because they show what happens during their execution but they do not show why those things happen, being a teacher’s task to explain or help in interpretation. The main objective of this work was to develop a Physics and Chemistry teaching and learning support tool that allows students to conduct experimental activities, in an agile and attractive way, and in which they could try, decide, execute and share the results. Cette thèse porte sur l’intégration de deux concepts : l’Analyse de Scènes Auditives (ASA) et la fusion audiovisuelle (AV) en perception de parole. Nous introduisons "l’Analyse de Scènes de Parole Audio Visuelles" (AVSSA) comme une extension du modèle à deux étages caractéristique de l’ASA vers des scènes audiovisuelles et nous proposons qu'un indice de cohérence entre modalités auditive et visuelle est calculé avant la fusion AV, ce qui permet de déterminer si les entrées sensorielles doivent être cognitivement liées : c’est le « modèle à deux étages » de la fusion AV. Des expériences antérieures sur la modulation de l'effet McGurk par des contextes AV cohérents vs. incohérents présentés avant la cible McGurk ont permis de valider le modèle à deux étages. Dans ce travail de thèse, nous étudions le processus AVSSA au sein de l'architecture à deux étages dans différentes dimensions telles que l'introduction de bruit, le mélange de sources AV, la recherche de corrélats neurophysiologiques et l’évaluation sur différentes populations.Une première série d'expériences chez les jeunes adultes a permis la caractérisation du mécanisme de liage AV en introduisant du bruit et les résultats ont montré que les participants étaient en mesure d'évaluer à la fois le niveau de bruit acoustique et la cohérence AV et de contrôler la fusion AV en conséquence. Dans une deuxième série d'expériences comportementales impliquant une compétition entre sources AV, nous avons montré que l’AVSSA permet d'évaluer la cohérence entre caractéristiques visuelles et auditives dans une scène complexe, afin d'associer les composants adéquats d'une source de parole AV donné, et de fournir pour le processus de fusion une évaluation de la cohérence de la source AV extraite. Il apparaît également que la fusion dépend du focus attentionnel sur une source ou l'autre. Puis une expérience EEG a cherché à mettre en évidence un marqueur neurophysiologique du processus de liage-déliage et a montré qu’un contexte AV incohérent peut moduler l'effet de l'entrée visuelle sur la composante N1 / P2. Une dernière série d'expériences a été axée sur l’évaluation du liage AV et de sa dynamique dans une population âgée, et a fourni des résultats similaires à ceux des adultes plus jeunes mais avec une plus grande dynamique de déliage. L'ensemble des résultats a permis de mieux caractériser le processus AVSSA et a été intégré dans la proposition d'une architecture neurocognitive améliorée pour la fusion AV dans la perception de la parole.

The present doctoral work is focused on a tentative fusion between two separate concepts: Auditory Scene Analysis (ASA) and Audiovisual (AV) fusion in speech perception. We introduce “Audio Visual Speech Scene Analysis” (AVSSA) as an extension of the two-stage ASA model to- wards AV scenes, and we propose that a coherence index between the auditory and the visual input is computed prior to AV fusion, enabling to determine whether the sensory inputs should be bound together. ▼ A dolgozat bemutatja a kávéautomata működését, felépítését, vezérlőjének programozását az ipari eszközök (programozható logikai vezérlő,kijelző) segítségével. Vállalat információs rendszerek szakirányon találkoztam először a dolgozatom témájaként választott programozható logikai vezérlőkkel, amelyeket szerte a világon, az ipar számos területén valamilyen folyamat vezérlésére használnak. Gyárlátogatáson, Nyírbátorban az MSK Hungary Gépgyártó BT-nél egy hűtőgép becsomagolására programoztak egy ilyen vezérlőt, ami valamilyen szerszámkészlettel felszerelt munkagéppel végrehajtja a megadott műveletet. A szakdolgozat elkészítése során egy olyan témát mutatok be, amit az eddigi szakdolgozatok során még senki sem. Témaválasztásomat indokolja az is, hogy később az ipari vagy a szakmai munkám során az ebben szerzett gyakorlati tapasztalatot tudom majd hasznosítani. Egy olyan modellt szeretnék bemutatni, melynek a középpontjában egy programozható logikai vezérlő (PLC) áll, s amely már ipari szintű bonyolultsággal és összetettséggel valósít meg egy hétköznapi, egyszerűnek tűnő automatizálási folyamatot. Számos, a mindennapi életben előforduló automatizált folyamat bonyolultsága megfelelt az elvárásaimnak. (Pl.: automata öntöző rendszer, házi intelligens fűtés-hűtési rendszer, palackozó üzem, stb.) Az alapötlet végül egy pohár víz fogyasztása közben jött. Egy automata, amely italt kínál az embereknek. Naponta találkozunk italautomatákkal, mégsem vagyunk tisztába azzal, hogy milyen bonyolult folyamatirányítást valósítanak meg. Ezek működése mögött komoly programozás áll. Így a választásom a gyakran használt, de ilyen szempontból kevéssé ismert kávéautomatára esett. A kávéautomata csak látszatra tűnik egyszerűnek. A benne lezajló folyamatok programozása komoly feladat, melyből a felhasználónak csak kevés információ áll a rendelkezésére. A kitűzött feladatot az ipari automatizálásban használt eszközökkel (kijelző, PLC-k, PC-k) és kommunikációs protokollokkal szándékoztam megvalósítani, hogy későbbi, bonyolultabb gyártósorok kialakításának programozásánál fel tudjam használni a szakdolgozatomban szerzett tapasztalataimat. A szakdolgozat célja, megismerni és elsajátítani azokat a programtechnikai, folyamatirányítás technikai, kommunikációs alapelveket, melyeket az ipari folyamatokban használnak, mégis bárki számára érthető végeredményt produkálni. (pl. forró kávé) A Twido PLC és a Magelis XBT-RT500 érintőképernyős kijelzőt, mind egyszerű programozhatósága miatt, mind pedig moduláris felépítésének köszönhetően kiválóan alkalmas a kitűzött feladat megoldására. Célom a dolgozattal, hogy elsajátítsam azokat a programozási, kommunikációs, folyamatvezérlési technikákat, amelyeket az ipari folyamatirányítási és automatizálási rendszerben alkalmaznak, továbbá, hogy a folyton változó eszközökhöz és kommunikációs protokollokhoz a megfelelő leírásokat tartalmazó adatbázisokat megtaláljam.
