Este trabalho tem por objetivo analisar a situação atual dos registros e alterações das informações arquivísticas, pertinentes aos projetos do Centro de Artes e Letras CAL, da Universidade Federal de Santa Maria UFSM, que fazem parte do banco de dados da instituição. Para tanto, foram utilizadas informações arquivísticas a respeito de projetos, obtidas através do acesso a documentos institucionais e de relatórios do banco de dados da UFSM. Também foi aplicado um questionário dirigido aos professores do CAL. A partir da análise dos levantamentos, dos relatórios e desse questionário, chegou-se a algumas conclusões. Pela descrição do sistema de registro de projetos, observou-se que a tela participantes traz várias informações referentes a essa participação, com repercussões na vida acadêmica de seus discentes e docentes. Outra constatação é a crescente evolução do número de registro de projetos ao longo do funcionamento do sistema. Verificou-se, ainda, através da aplicação do questionário aos docentes, várias situações como aquelas que estão relacionadas à titulação e às implicações que envolvem o registro de projetos. A análise dos depoimentos obtidos através de entrevistas dirigidas aos responsáveis pelo SIE no CPD e na PROPLAN contribuiu para o diagnóstico do sistema, principalmente sob o enfoque da autenticidade e da fidedignidade das informações arquivísticas por ele disponibilizadas. Essas constatações possibilitaram apresentar, ao final do trabalho, algumas recomendações para aprimoramento do SIE. Espera-se, portanto, que os resultados obtidos nesta pesquisa possam ser considerados como referencial, tanto para a UFSM, quanto para outras instituições que tenham interesse neste trabalho.

The objective of this work is to analyze the present situation of the registers and alterations in the file information concern to projects from Arts and Letters Center CAL, of the Federal University of Santa Maria UFSM, which compose the databases of the institution. So that, file information related to projects, collected through the access to documents and written reports from the databases of UFSM were used. Also, a questionnaire, addressed to teachers from CAL, was applied. Based on the analysis of the surveys, written reports and the questionnaire some conclusions were reached. Through the description of the system of the register of the projects it was observed that the screen participants offer much information about this participation, reflecting in the academic life of teachers and students. Another result refers to the increase evolution in the number of projects registered since the beginning of the system working. In addition, it was verified, by applying the questionnaire to teachers, many situations like those related to titles and the implications involved in the register of the projects. ▼ In recent years, researchers in the field of Second Language Acquisition (SLA) have become increasingly interested in the implications of sociolinguistic research for L2 learning. Among the many questions that arise are whether the development of sociolinguistic competence should be an instructional goal as early as the beginning level, and what types of learning opportunities are most beneficial for its development. Issues regarding learners? acquisition of L2 pragmatic competence have repeatedly been addressed in the field of Interlanguage Pragmatics (ILP), and today, a considerable body of classroom-based ILP research exists. However, there is still a lack of studies that specifically investigate the teachability of sociolinguistic competence, one aspect of pragmatic competence, in the beginning-level foreign language classroom. This study examined the effects of a web-based pedagogical intervention adopting an explicit, awareness-raising approach on learners? development of sociopragmatic competence. The research focus was on the development of receptive skills and metapragmatic knowledge as demonstrated by the learners? ability to recognize and reflect on context;ually appropriate language. The instructional target was forms of address in German, including address pronouns, greetings, and pronominal forms. The research design was based on a mixed-method design, and research data were elicited by means of discourse completion tasks and retrospective comment tasks. The participants were 56 learners of German, who at the time of the intervention were enrolled in several sections of a second-semester German course at a major university in the Northwest of the United States. The results showed a significant increase in the experimental group learners? ability to employ the metapragmatic information that they had received through instruction, and a clear approximation to the native speaker norm. The research findings indicate that L2 learners benefit from the integration of sociolinguistic variation into the beginning-level curriculum and suggest which instructional techniques are most effective. The study has important implications for the field of Second Language Teacher Education, particularly with regard to curriculum design and material development. It informs the discussion of the pedagogical norm and provides an example of how data obtained from L1 sociolinguistic research can constitute a relevant source for L2 teaching material development.

▼ The Linear Array CCD technology is widely used in the new generation aerial photogrammetric sensors and also in the high-resolution satellite optical sensors. In comparison to the Matrix (frame/area) Array sensors, the Linear Array CCD sensors have smaller number of detectors to cover the same swath width. In addition, the flexibility is higher in the physical sensor design. The conventional film cameras used in aerial photogrammetry are manufactured in frame format. The first remote sensing sensors for Earth observation employed film cameras as well. The recent sensor technologies of the optical remote sensing satellites are replaced with the Linear Array CCDs. In case of the aerial photogrammetric sensors, medium and small format aerial cameras are produced only in the frame format. The development in large format cameras is twofold. The Linear Array CCD and Matrix Array CCD sensors have been present in the industry since the year 2000. Due to the geometric differences between the Linear Array cameras and the frame cameras, the conventional photogrammetric procedures for the geometric processing of the Linear Array CCD images should be redefined or newly developed. The trajectory modeling is one of the main concepts, which entered into the field of photogrammetry with the aerial and satellite pushbroom sensors. The modified collinearity equations are extended with mathematical functions to model the image trajectory in the bundle adjustment. This study encompasses the triangulation of Linear Array CCD images with the use of different trajectory models. The self-calibration models are partially adapted from the frame sensors in accordance with the physical structures of the Linear Array CCD sensors. In general, the triangulation and self-calibration of the aerial and the satellite Linear Array CCD images show similarities in terms of trajectory modeling and the physical definitions of the additional parameters. The main difference is in the number unknown parameters defined in the bundle adjustment, which is calculated as a function of the number of lenses, the trajectory model configuration, and the number of Linear Array CCDs used in the sensor. Therefore, similar sensor modeling and calibration approaches are applied in this study, with necessary adjustments for each system. In order to obtain high accuracy point positioning, high quality image trajectory measurement is crucial. The given trajectory can be modeled in the adjustment by using constant and linear correction parameters, as well as higher order polynomials. This study investigates the three different trajectory models with three different mathematical approaches. Two of the models are investigated at different levels of sophistication by altering the model parameters. Two different aerial Linear Array CCD sensors, the STARIMAGER of former Starlabo Corporation, Japan, and the ADS40 sensor of the Leica Geosystems, Heerbrugg, are used for the practical investigations. Este trabalho aborda a organização de imagens de sensoriamento remoto, mapas, fotos aéreas, cartas topográficas, no Sistema SIE, módulo biblioteca, do Sistema de Bibliotecas utilizado na Universidade Federal de Santa Maria UFSM. São apresentados os passos para a inclusão de registros bibliográficos e itens de um registro, que compõem o sistema de busca, via Internet, do site da própria universidade. A escolha por se trabalhar com software livre resultou da análise dos quatro grandes programas disponíveis no mercado: Aleph, Pergamum, Gnuteca e SIE. Desses sistemas, o SIE, módulo biblioteca foi considerado o mais apropriado para a finalidade em questão. A aplicação do teste piloto, realizado na Biblioteca Setorial do Centro de Ciências Rurais componente do Sistema de Bibliotecas da referida instituição, confirmou a pertinência dessa escolha, uma vez que os resultados obtidos por meio dele foram positivos. Desse modo, o Sistema SIE faz-se de grande valor para os gestores da informação, haja vista que corresponde a uma ferramenta útil para a disseminação da informação, sendo de fundamental importância para todos os usuários em potencial desta e de outras instituições de ensino.

This work approaches the organization of aerial images by remote sensor, maps, photos, topographical letters, in the System SIE, module library, of the System of Libraries used in the Federal University of Santa Maria UFSM. Some steps for the inclusion of bibliographical registers are presented and registering item, which those compose the search system, by Internet from the university site. The choice for using a free software as a result from analysis of the four great available programs in the market such as Aleph, Pergamum, Gnuteca and SIE. Those systems available, the SIE, the module library was considered the most appropriate for the purpose in question. The application of the test pilot, carried out through in the Sector Library of the Center of Agricultural Sciences component of the System of Libraries of this related institution. It was confirmed the relevancy for this choice because the results were positive and meaningful. In this way, the System SIE becomes of great value for the information managers. It corresponds to be a useful tool for the dissemination of the information. It is a major importance for all the users in potential of this and other institutions of education.

Les nappes métalliques assurent la structure des pneumatiques. Leur fabrication se décline en plusieurs étapes : le dépôt électrolytique du laiton sur le substrat en acier perlitique, le tréfilage humide du renfort laitonné et l’assemblage mélange-renfort. La pondération de chaque étape sur les mécanismes de corrosion a été évaluée.La composition du revêtement laiton est le premier paramètre étudié. Des caractérisations de surface telles que MEB-EBSD et XPS ont été réalisées et contribuent à l’interprétation des résultats électrochimiques. Les essais électrochimiques ont été menés dans 0,01 M NaCl et couplés à des analyses de solution ICP-AES. Le comportement global du renfort immergé ainsi que le suivi de l’évolution de l’ORR et de la dissolution de l’acier laitonné ont été caractérisés par voltampérométrie linéaire ainsi que par spectroscopie d’impédance électrochimique sous polarisation. L’influence de la composition du revêtement sur le comportement en corrosion a été déterminée.Lors de l’étape de tréfilage, les déformations microstructurales générées ainsi que le lubrifiant ont été identifiés comme des paramètres influents à partir des caractérisations de surface MEB et desoutils électrochimiques (voltampérométrie linéaire et cyclique, SIE sous polarisation, étude des lubrifiants en solution).Dans l’assemblage, le mélange peut agir en tant que cathode. La nature des couplages galvaniques (renfort-mélange ou renfort-renfort) a été identifiée par des mesures ZRA en fonction des conditions de vieillissement. Il a également été montré que les espèces relarguées par le mélange influencent le comportement en corrosion du renfort. La cinétique de dégradation du composite a été évaluée par mesure de la force à la rupture du renfort. La synergie possible entre lubrifiant et mélange a été vérifiées.

The tire structure is provided by metal-rubber composites. Their manufacturing process is divided into several steps : electroplating of brass on steel wires, brass-coated steel wet wire drawing and rubber/wire mixing. The weight of each step on corrosion mechanisms was evaluated.The brass coating composition is the first parameter studied. Surface characterizations such as SEM-EBSD and XPS have been performed and contribute to the electrochemical resultats understanding. Electrochemical experiments were done in 0.01 M NaCl and coupled with ICP-AES measurements. Linear voltammetry as well as electrochemical impedance spectroscopy under polarization are used to characterize the overall behavior of the brass reinforcement and to follow the ORR and dissolution evolution. The coating composition influence on the corrosion behavior has been determined.During the wet wire drawing, microstructure mechanical deformations and lubricant were identified as influencing parameters by means of surface characterization and electrochemical tools (linear and cyclic voltammetry, EIS under polarization, study of lubricants in solution).In the composite, the rubber can act as cathode. Les composites oxyde-carbonate pourraient constituer des électrolytes pour les SOFC fonctionnant entre 400-600°C car ils attendent une conductivité de 0,1 S/cm à 600°C. Une meilleure compréhension de l'origine de leurs performances est à ce jour nécessaire. Pour y parvenir, une approche combinée théorique et expérimentale a été développée. La conductivité, mesurée à travers la SIE, a été étudiée en fonction de la phase oxyde ou carbonate et de l'atmosphère de travail. Les résultats sur les composite de CeO2 ou YSZ ont montré que seule l'interface peut expliquer des observations surprenantes. De la réactivité a été observée dans le cas des composites à base de TiO2. On a donc proposé une stratégie computationnelle qui utilise des calculs DFT périodiques: la structure du bulk de chaque phase a d'abord été étudiée afin de trouver un bon protocole computationnel, qui a été ensuite utilisé pour identifier un modèle pour la surface la plus stable des deux phases. Ces modèles de surfaces ont donc été combinés pour obtenir un modèle de l'interface oxyde-carbonate, utilisable comme structure de départ pour des calculs DFT et de DM. Cette stratégie a permis d'obtenir des informations sur structure, stabilité et propriétés électroniques des composites. YSZ-LiKCO3 a été utilisé pour mieux comprendre l'effet des interfaces sur le transport de différentes espèces, tandis que le modèle de l'interface entre TiO2 et LiKCO3 a été utilisé pour étudier la réactivité entre ces deux matériaux. Finalement, ces résultats ouvrent la voie vers une plus grande compréhension des principes de fonctionnement des SOFC basées sur les électrolytes composites oxyde-carbonate.

Oxide-carbonate composites are promising electrolytes for LT-SOFC, thanks to their high conductivity (0.1-1 S/cm at 600°C). A deeper understanding on the origins of their improved performances is still necessary. For this purpose, a combined theoretical and experimental approach was developed. We first studied systematically the conductivity of the material, measured through EIS, as a function of different oxide or carbonate phases and of the operating atmosphere. Results on YSZ- and CeO2-based materials indicate that by only taking into account the interfaces it is possible to rationalize some surprising observations, while reactivity issues have been observed for TiO2-carbonate composites. We then proposed a computational strategy based on periodic DFT calculations: we first studied the bulk structure of each phase so as to select an adequate computational protocol, which has then been used to identify a suitable model of the most stable surface for each phase. These surface models have thus been combined to obtain a model of the oxide-carbonate interface that through static DFT and MD provides a deeper insight on the interface at the atomic level. This strategy was applied to provide information on the structure, stability and electronic properties of the interface. ▼ Hallucination was always the ghost story's elephant in the room. Even before the vogue for psychical research and spiritualism began to influence writers at the end of the nineteenth century, tales of horror and the supernatural, of ghosts and demons, had been haunted by the possibility of some grand deception by the senses. Edgar Allan Poe's stories were full of mad narrators, conscience-stricken criminals and sinners, and protagonists who doubted their very eyes and ears. Writers such as Dickens and Le Fanu continued this idea of the cheat of the senses. But what is certainly true is that, towards the end of the century, hallucination took on a new force and significance in ghostly and horror fiction. Now, its presence was not the dominion of a handful of experimental thinkers but the province of popular authors writing very different kinds of stories. The approaches had become many and diverse, from Arthur Machen's ambivalent interest in occultism to Vernon Lee's passion for art and antiquity. Henry James's The Turn of the Screw (1898) is the most famous text to pose a question that was, in fact, being asked by many writers of the time: reality or delusion? Other writers, too, were forcing their readers to assess whether the ghostly had its origins in some supernatural phenomenon from beyond the grave, or from some deception within our own minds. This thesis explores the many factors which contributed to this rise in the interest in hallucination and visionary experience, during the period 1880-1914. From the time when psychical research became hugely popular, up until the First World War often considered a watershed in the history of the ghost story and literature in general something happened to the ghost story and related fiction. Through a close analysis of stories and novels written by Robert Louis Stevenson, Vernon Lee, Henry James, Arthur Machen, and Oliver Onions, I attempt to find out what happened, and even more importantly why it happened at all.

▼ Les alliages de magnésium représentent une alternative à l’utilisation d’alliages d’aluminium ou de matériaux composites, en particulier dans le secteur aéronautique dans l’objectif de réduire la masse des structures. Ces travaux de thèse ont pour but de participer au développement de nouvelles méthodes de protection des alliages de magnésium, plus efficaces et respectueuses de l’environnement. Pour mener à bien ces travaux, des techniques électrochimiques, en particulier la spectroscopie d’impédance électrochimique, ont été couplées à des mesures par microscopie à force atomique (AFM), à des analyses par spectroscopie d’émission atomique à plasma induit (ICP-AES) et par spectroscopie de masse d’ions secondaires à temps de vol (Tof-SIMS) ainsi que des essais normalisés industriels. Tout d’abord, la résistance à la corrosion en milieu Na2SO4 de trois alliages de magnésium contenant des terres rares (WE43, EV31 et ZE41) a été étudiée et comparée à celle de deux alliages riches en aluminium (AZ31 et AZ91) et à celle du magnésium pur. Pour tous les alliages, il a été montré que les particules intermétalliques agissent comme des cathodes locales. Cet effet de couplage galvanique est plus marqué pour les particules riches en terres rares, en particulier dans le cas de l’alliage EV31. Conjointement, la corrosion est contrôlée par la dissolution de la matrice riche en magnésium et par le recouvrement progressif de la surface métallique par un film d’oxydes/hydroxydes. Ce film est plus protecteur pour les alliages que pour le magnésium pur mais cet effet bénéfique n’est toutefois pas suffisant pour compenser le rôle néfaste joué par les particules intermétalliques. Au final, l’ajout de terres rares augmente la vitesse de corrosion des alliages de magnésium en milieu Na2SO4 par rapport à celle des alliages AZ ou celle du magnésium pur. Dans le cas de l’alliage WE43, qui a été retenu pour la suite de l’étude, il a été montré que le film protecteur d’oxydes est plus mince et plus stable que celui formé sur le Mg pur, en particulier en présence d’ions chlorure. Ces résultats ont été expliqués par l’incorporation des éléments d’alliages, comme l’yttrium, qui serait responsable de la formation d’un film d’oxydes plus compact. Puis, plusieurs méthodes de protection ont été envisagées dans le but d’obtenir une résistance à la corrosion compatible avec les exigences de l’industrie aéronautique. Un traitement d’anodisation, développé par la société Prodem et appelé CEP, en combinaison avec plusieurs primaires de peinture sans chromate, proposés par la société Mapaéro (hydrodiluable ou haut-extrait sec) ont été évalués et comparés aux solutions de référence chromatées. Il a été montré que les traitements de conversion actuels, même en présence de primaire chromaté, ne permettent pas une protection efficace des alliages de magnésium. ▼ Since 1893 when New Zealand women were the first in the world to win the right to vote, they have persisted in their groundbreaking ways. New Zealand women have been Prime Ministers, Governor General, Speaker of the House of Representatives and Attorney General. Currently a New Zealand woman is Chief Justice and a former Prime Minister Helen Clarke holds the third highest position at the United Nations. This study continues this trail blazing tradition with a focus on a number of older New Zealand women who have challenged the male norm of continuous and linear careers (Myers, 2011; Sabelis & Schilling, 2013) and the neoliberal expectation of an extended working life (Rudman, 2006). Anecdotal evidence suggests these ‘ordinary’ New Zealand women have effected ‘extraordinary’ life change as a result of exiting their established working lives to undertake self-initiated expatriation (SIE), a period of extended travel and work overseas (Doherty, Richardson, & Thorn, 2013a; Suutari & Brewster, 2000). This study draws on ‘older workers’, ‘population ageing, ‘careers’ and SIE research literatures. Four specific research objectives funnel the enquiry into the SIE phenomenon: the motivations, experiences, and triggers for SIE; the actual SIE work and personal experiences; whether SIE facilitates career and personal development; and whether SIE affords older women an opportunity to reflect on, clarify and enact longer term career and life-path goals. Fundamental to this study is the ontological assumption that the world is open-ended and socially constructed. Subjectivism was core to the research process. Thus, I adopted a reflexive and interpretive methodology and carried out 21 in-depth life story interviews. To ensure the integrity of ‘narrative inquiry’, I developed a five-step analytical framework and present the findings at four levels of analysis in a cycle of storying and re-storying. Firstly, each of the 21 interpretive life stories are documented. Secondly, five interpretive ‘journey’ themes are presented to facilitate an understanding of the participant’s process of transition. Thirdly, a number of general themes are drawn out which link explicitly to the research objectives and fourthly I draw on key insights from all levels to develop a collective ‘personal experience’ narrative (McCormick, 2004). Findings indicate that escape, unfinished business and the search for excitement were key SIE motivations. Enhancing career prospects were not an explicit driver. Individual SIE highlights were the cultural experiences and relationships developed through travel and work and unexpectedly, participants developed considerable career capital. They developed significantly at a personal level, clarified their values and priorities, and began to realise that different life-paths were open to them that were rich with possibilities. Post-SIE, the participants’ lives continued to evolve. Initial work experiences reinforced earlier pre-SIE disillusionment within the organisational context. ▼ Hallucination was always the ghost story's elephant in the room. Even before the vogue for psychical research and spiritualism began to influence writers at the end of the nineteenth century, tales of horror and the supernatural, of ghosts and demons, had been haunted by the possibility of some grand deception by the senses. Edgar Allan Poe's stories were full of mad narrators, conscience-stricken criminals and sinners, and protagonists who doubted their very eyes and ears. Writers such as Dickens and Le Fanu continued this idea of the cheat of the senses. But what is certainly true is that, towards the end of the century, hallucination took on a new force and significance in ghostly and horror fiction. Now, its presence was not the dominion of a handful of experimental thinkers but the province of popular authors writing very different kinds of stories. The approaches had become many and diverse, from Arthur Machen's ambivalent interest in occultism to Vernon Lee's passion for art and antiquity. Henry James's The Turn of the Screw (1898) is the most famous text to pose a question that was, in fact, being asked by many writers of the time: reality or delusion? Other writers, too, were forcing their readers to assess whether the ghostly had its origins in some supernatural phenomenon from beyond the grave, or from some deception within our own minds. This thesis explores the many factors which contributed to this rise in the interest in hallucination and visionary experience, during the period 1880-1914. From the time when psychical research became hugely popular, up until the First World War often considered a watershed in the history of the ghost story and literature in general something happened to the ghost story and related fiction. Through a close analysis of stories and novels written by Robert Louis Stevenson, Vernon Lee, Henry James, Arthur Machen, and Oliver Onions, I attempt to find out what happened, and even more importantly why it happened at all.

▼ Nitrogen is an essential nutrient. It is for human, animal and plants a constituent element of proteins and nucleic acids. Although the majority of the Earth’s atmosphere consists of elemental nitrogen (N2, 78 %) only a few microorganisms can use it directly. To be useful for higher plants and animals elemental nitrogen must be converted to a reactive oxidized form. This conversion happens within the nitrogen cycle by free-living microorganisms, symbiotic living Rhizobium bacteria or by lightning. Humans are able to synthesize reactive nitrogen through the Haber-Bosch process since the beginning of the 20th century. As a result food security of the world population could be improved noticeably. On the other side the increased nitrogen input results in acidification and eutrophication of ecosystems and in loss of biodiversity. Negative health effects arose for humans such as fine particulate matter and summer smog. Furthermore, reactive nitrogen plays a decisive role at atmospheric chemistry and global cycles of pollutants and nutritive substances.rnNitrogen monoxide (NO) and nitrogen dioxide (NO2) belong to the reactive trace gases and are grouped under the generic term NOx. They are important components of atmospheric oxidative processes and influence the lifetime of various less reactive greenhouse gases. NO and NO2 are generated amongst others at combustion process by oxidation of atmospheric nitrogen as well as by biological processes within soil. In atmosphere NO is converted very quickly into NO2. NO2 is than oxidized to nitrate (NO3-) and to nitric acid (HNO3), which bounds to aerosol particles. The bounded nitrate is finally washed out from atmosphere by dry and wet deposition. Catalytic reactions of NOx are an important part of atmospheric chemistry forming or decomposing tropospheric ozone (O3). In atmosphere NO, NO2 and O3 are in photosta¬tionary equilibrium, therefore it is referred as NO-NO2-O3 triad. At regions with elevated NO concentrations reactions with air pollutions can form NO2, altering equilibrium of ozone formation.rnThe essential nutrient nitrogen is taken up by plants mainly by dissolved NO3- entering the roots. Atmospheric nitrogen is oxidized to NO3- within soil via bacteria by nitrogen fixation or ammonium formation and nitrification. Additionally atmospheric NO2 uptake occurs directly by stomata. Inside the apoplast NO2 is disproportionated to nitrate and nitrite (NO2-), which can enter the plant metabolic processes. The enzymes nitrate and nitrite reductase convert nitrate and nitrite to ammonium (NH4+). NO2 gas exchange is controlled by pressure gradients inside the leaves, the stomatal aperture and leaf resistances. ▼ In dieser Arbeit wurden zytotoxische Effekte sowie die inflammatorische Reaktionen des distalen respiratorischen Traktes nach Nanopartikelexposition untersucht. Besondere Aufmerksamkeit lag auch auf der Untersuchung unterschiedlicher zellulärer Aufnahmewege von Nanopartikeln wie z.B. Clathrin- oder Caveolae-vermittelte Endozytose oder auch Clathrin- und Caveolae-unabhängige Endozytose (mit möglicher Beteiligung von Flotillinen). Drei unterschiedliche Nanopartikel wurden hierbei gewählt: amorphes Silica (aSNP), Organosiloxan (AmorSil) und Poly(ethyleneimin) (PEI). Alle unterschiedlichen Materialien gewinnen zunehmend an Interesse für biomedizinische Forschungsrichtungen (drug and gene delivery). Insbesondere finden aSNPs auch in der Industrie vermehrt Anwendung, und stellen somit ein ernstzunehmendes Gesundheitsrisiko dar. Dieser wird dadurch zu einem begehrten Angriffsziel für pharmazeutische Verabreichungen von Medikamenten über Nanopartikel als Vehikel aber bietet zugleich auch eine Angriffsfläche für gesundheitsschädliche Nanomaterialien. Aus diesem Grund sollten die gesundheitsschädigenden Risiken, sowie das Schicksal von zellulär aufgenommenen NPs sorgfältig untersucht werden. In vivo Studien an der alveolaren-kapillaren Barriere sind recht umständlich. Aus diesem Grund wurde in dieser Arbeit ein Kokulturmodel benutzt, dass die Alveolar-Kapillare Barrier in vivo nachstellt. Das Model besteht aus dem humanen Lungenepithelzelltyp (z.B. NCI H441) und einem humanen microvasculären Endothelzelltyp (z.B. ISO-HAS-1), die auf entgegengesetzten Seiten eines Transwell-Filters ausgesät werden und eine dichte Barriere ausbilden. Die NP Interaktion mit Zellen in Kokultur wurde mit denen in konventioneller Monokultur verglichen, in der Zellen 24h vor dem Experiment ausgesät werden. Diese Studie zeigt, dass nicht nur die polarisierte Eigenschaft der Zellen in Kokultur sondern auch die unmittelbare Nähe von Epithel und Endothelzelle ausschlaggebend für durch aSNPs verursachte Effekte ist. Im Hinblick auf inflammatorische Marker (sICAM, IL-6, IL8-Ausschüttung), reagiert die Kokultur auf aSNPs empfindlicher als die konventionelle Monokultur, wohingegen die Epithelzellen in der Kokultur auf zytotoxikologischer Ebene (LDH-Ausschüttung) unempfindlicher auf aSNPs reagierten als die Zellen in Monokultur. Aufnahmestudien haben gezeigt, dass die Epithelzellen in Kokultur entschieden weniger NPs aufnehmen. Somit zeigen die H441 in der Kokultur ähnliche epitheliale Eigenschaften einer schützenden Barriere, wie sie auch in vivo zu finden sind. Obwohl eine ausreichende Aufnahme von NPs in H441 in Kokultur erreicht werden konnte, konnte ein Transport von NPs durch die epitheliale Schicht und eine Aufnahme in die endotheliale Schicht mit den gewählten Inkubationszeiten nicht gezeigt werden. Eine Clathrin- oder Caveolae-vermittelte Endozytose von NPs konnte mittels Immunfluoreszenz weder in der Mono- noch in der Kokultur nachgewiesen werden. ▼ What is the intracellular fate of nanoparticles (NPs) taken up by the cells? This question has been investigated for polystyrene NPs of different sizes with a set of molecular biological and biophysical techniques.rnTwo sets of fluorescent NPs, cationic and non-ionic, were synthesized with three different polymerization techniques. Non-ionic particles (132 – 846 nm) were synthesized with dispersion polymerization in an ethanol/water solution. Cationic NPs with 120 nm were synthesized by miniemulsion polymerization Particles with 208, 267 and 603 nm were produced by seeding the 120 nm particle obtained by miniemulsion polymerization with drop-wise added monomer and polymerization of such. The colloidal characterization of all particles showed a comparable amount of the surface groups. In addition, particles were characterized with regard to their size, morphology, solid content, amount of incorporated fluorescent dye and zeta potential. The fluorescent intensities of all particles were measured by fluorescence spectroscopy for calibration in further cellular experiments. rnThe uptake of the NPs to HeLa cells after 1 – 24 h revealed a much higher uptake of cationic NPs in comparison to non-ionic NPs. If the same amount of NPs with different sizes is introduced to the cell, a different amount of particles is present in the cell medium, which complicates a comparison of the uptake. The same conclusion is valid for the particles’ overall surface area. Therefore, HeLa cells were incubated with the same concentration, amount and surface area of NPs. It was found that with the same concentration always the same polymer amount is taking up by cells. However, the amount of particles taken up decreases for the biggest. A correlation to the surface area could not be found. We conclude that particles are endocytosed by an excavator-shovel like mechanism, which does not distinguish between different sizes, but is only dependent on the volume that is taken up. For the decreased amount of large particles, an overload of this mechanism was assumed, which leads to a decrease in the uptake. rnThe participation of specific endocytotic processes has been determined by the use of pharmacological inhibitors, immunocytological staining and immunofluorescence. The uptake of NPs into the endo-lysosomal machinery is dominated by a caveolin-mediated endocytosis. Other pathways, which include macropinocytosis and a dynamin-dependent mechanism but exclude clathrin mediated endocytosis, also occur as competing processes. All particles can be found to some extent in early endosomes, but only bigger particles were proven to localize in late endosomes. No particles were found in lysosomes; at least not in lysosomes that are labeled with Lamp1 and cathepsin D. Das Ziel dieser Arbeit lag darin mannosylierte Polymersysteme hauptsächlich auf der Basis von N-(Hydroxy)propylmethacrylat zu synthetisieren, um gezielt Zellen des Immunsystems zu adressieren. Dazu wurden zunächst verschiedene Reaktivesterpolymere auf der Basis von Pentafluorophenylmethacrylat (PFPMA) unter Verwendung der RAFT-Polymerisation mit enger Molekulargewichtsverteilung und unterschiedlichen Anteilen an LMA (Laurylmethacrylat) hergestellt.rnUm eine genaue Aussage über den Aufbau eines statistischen PFPMA-LMA Copolymers treffen zu können, wurde die Copolymerisation von PFPMA und LMA mittels Echtzeit 1H-NMR Kinetikmessungen untersucht. Dies ermöglichte es, die Copolymerisationsparameter zu berechnen und genaue Aussagen über den Aufbau eines statistischen PFPMA-LMA Copolymers zu treffen. Die so erhaltenen Reaktivesterpolymere wurden dann in einer polymeranalogen Reaktion unter Erhalt des Polymerisationsgrades in die gewünschten HPMA-Polymere umgewandelt. Um die quantitative Umsetzung ohne auftretende Nebenreaktionen zu untersuchen, wurden verschiedene Reaktionsbedingungen gewählt und unterschiedliche Analysemethoden verwendet. Damit konnte gezeigt werden, dass es möglich ist, über den Reaktivesteransatz qualitativ hochwertige amphiphile Polymersysteme herzustellen, die auf anderen Wegen schwer zu synthetisieren und charakterisieren sind. Ein weiterer Vorteil dieser Syntheseroute ist, dass gleichzeitig sowohl Marker für die Visualisierung der Polymere in vitro und in vivo, als auch Targetliganden für die Adressierung bestimmter Zellen eingeführt werden können. Dafür wurde hauptsächlich Mannose als einfache Zuckerstruktur angebunden, da bekannt ist, dass mannosylierte Polymersysteme von Zellen des Imunsystems aufgenommen werden. Zusätzlich konnten die mannosylierten Polymere mit hydrophobem Wirkstoff beladen werden, wobei die Stabilität von beladenen Mizellen anhand der Einlagerung eines hydrophoben radioaktiven Komplexes genauer untersucht werden konnte.rnAnschließende in vitro Experimente der mannosylierten Polymermizellen an dendritischen Zellen zeigten wie erwartet eine mannosespezifische und verstärkte Aufnahme. Für eine mögliche Untersuchung dieser Systeme in vivo mittels PET konnte gezeigt werden, dass es möglich ist HPMA Polymere radioaktiv zu markieren, wobei auch erste Markierungsversuche mit einem langlebigen Radionuklid für Langzeitbiodistributionsstudien durchgeführt werden konnte.rn

L'utilisation de revêtements sol-gel pour la protection contre la corrosion des métaux est une alternative aux traitements à base de chromates, proscrits du fait de leur forte toxicité. Ces travaux de thèse ont porté sur la caractérisation de revêtements sol-gel hybrides organique-inorganique contenant des pigments inhibiteurs de corrosion non toxiques, pour la protection contre la corrosion de l'alliage d'aluminium 2024. Tout d'abord, la caractérisation par spectroscopie d'impédance électrochimique de différents revêtements relativement poreux a permis d'analyser l'influence de l'épaisseur, de la température de séchage, de l'hydrolyse de la partie silane et du ratio silane/amine sur les performances du revêtement, en particulier des propriétés barrière. Puis, l'ajout d'un époxy dans la formulation a permis d'augmenter de façon significative les propriétés barrière du film. Les diagrammes d'impédance présentent une dispersion en fréquence, exprimée en termes de « constant phase element (CPE) », en haute et basse fréquence. En haute fréquence, ce comportement a été analysé à l'aide d'un modèle qui permet d'obtenir des profils de résistivité dans l'épaisseur du revêtement et au cours du temps d'immersion. Ce modèle est appliqué pour la première fois à l'étude de revêtements. Différents pigments inhibiteurs de corrosion ont ensuite été incorporés dans des revêtements de porosité différente. L'action des inhibiteurs est exacerbée lorsqu'ils sont incorporés dans un revêtement poreux. Néanmoins, lorsqu'ils sont incorporés dans un film dense, les performances vis-à-vis de la résistance à la corrosion sont élevées.

The use of sol-gel coatings for the protection against the corrosion of metals is an alternative to chrome-based treatments, banned for the industry for their high toxicity. This work is based on the characterisation of hybrid organic-inorganic coatings, filled with non-toxic corrosion inhibitors, for the protection against the corrosion of aluminium alloy 2024. First, the characterisation by electrochemical impedance spectroscopy of different, relatively porous coatings, allowed the investigation of the influence of thickness, drying temperature, silane hydrolysis, and the silane/amine ratio on the coating performances, in particular the barrier properties. Then, the addition of an epoxy compound in the formulation allowed a significant increase in the film barrier properties. The impedance diagrams show a frequency dispersion, expressed in terms of a constant phase element (CPE), both in the high and low frequency range. In the high frequency range, this behaviour was analyzed using a model that allows obtaining resistivity profiles in the thickness of the coating and with immersion time. This model is applied for the first time to study coatings. Different corrosion inhibitors were then incorporated in coatings of different porosity. The action of the inhibitors was heightened when they are incorporated in a porous coating. Nevertheless, in a dense coating, the performances towards corrosion are high.

▼ Globalisation has fostered international mobility and subsequently, international careers. In New Zealand, international travel, or the ‘OE’ (overseas experience), has become a cultural norm and is a common phenomenon among younger people who want to explore the world. In the international mobility literature, the motivations and career development of corporate expatriates are widely discussed; however, in the self-initiated expatriation (SIE) literature, these issues are less understood with studies focusing primarily on professionals (Dickmann, Doherty, Mills & Brewster, 2008). The SIE literature suggests that international volunteerism is also a valid SIE experience (Andresen & Gustschin, 2013) and although SIE remains under theorised (Doherty, Richardson & Thorn, 2013), volunteer self-initiated expatriation (volunteer SIE) is an even more limited field of research. While there is an emergent literature on the motivations and career development of volunteer self-initiated expatriates (Fee & Gray, 2011; Hudson & Inkson, 2006), the experiences of younger volunteer self-initiated expatriates are not specifically addressed. This study explores the motivations and career development resulting from SIE undertaken by younger volunteers. As a qualitative study, a reflexive and interpretive methodology (narrative inquiry) was used to conduct and analyse seven in-depth interviews. A subjective epistemology, based on real world experiences, was fundamental to this research process and a three-phase analytical framework was developed, with findings presented in two sections: motivations and career development. This study found that while altruistic factors were important, individuals were mainly motivated to pursue volunteer SIE for personal reasons, including a desire for new and authentic travel experiences, which included a drive to meet new people. A further motivating factor was participants’ desire to escape as some felt confused as to which career path to pursue. Volunteer SIE provided the participants with space to further consider these crucial career decisions. Timing and context, such as having adequate funds and freedom from family commitments, were important enablers, freeing participants to engage in volunteer SIE. Despite seeking an escape from career decision-making, most participants did not pursue volunteer SIE for career enhancement, although this accrued unexpectedly. The main career outcomes discussed in this study related to the development of communication skills and networks, a new career outlook, and enhanced employability. In addition, personal development was also an important outcome and included a number of personal outcomes: an increase in motivation and confidence; greater resilience, adaptability and tolerance; gratitude; and greater self-awareness, factors which also support career enhancement. Le sujet de thèse concerne l’analyse et la prédiction de la corrosion des renforts métalliques exposés dans des environnements représentatifs. Dans cette étude, le système va se complexifier en commençant à partir du renfort métallique délaitonné (acier perlitique) en passant par le renfort métallique laitonné (couche de laiton) pour finir avec le renfort métallique sulfuré (couche de sulfures). Cette approche permet de comprendre pas à pas les phénomènes de corrosion ainsi que l’interaction entre les différentes couches. Les matériaux de l’étude sont caractérisés au départ par des techniques de microscopies (MEB-EBSD, MET) et d’analyses de surface (XPS, Auger). Ces informations microstructurales et de composition chimique sont essentielles pour l’interprétation des essais de corrosion. Les essais électrochimiques sont ensuite réalisés dans 0,1M NaCl pour observer et quantifier le comportement en corrosion des trois types de renforts de l’étude. La quantification est un élément important pour établir des modèles prédictifs de corrosion. Deux types de techniques électrochimiques sont utilisés, les mesures à l’échelle globale (Voltampérométrie, Impédance électrochimique, couplage galvanique…) et les mesures à l’échelle locale (microcellule). Les essais à l’échelle locale sont directement reliés aux cartographies EBSD grâce à la microcellule. Un lien direct microstructure-corrosion est donc établi. A partir des essais électrochimiques, des analyses de solutions (SAA, ICP…) ainsi que des mesures de pH localisées sont réalisés pour quantifier les espèces passant en solution. Ces résultats sont des données d’entrée pour définir un milieu représentatif. De nouveaux essais électrochimiques sont enfin effectués dans le milieu représentatif pour étudier l’impact de ce nouveau milieu sur la corrosion des renforts métalliques.

This work deals with analysis and corrosion prediction of steel cords exposed in representative environments. In this study, the system will become more and more complex starting from “délaitonné” metal reinforcement (perlitic) via the brass metal reinforcement (brass layer) to finish with the metal reinforcement sulfide (sulfide layer). This approach allows you to understand step by step corrosion phenomena and the interaction between different layers. Materials of the study are first characterized by microscopy techniques (SEM-EBSD, TEM) and surface analysis (XPS, Auger). These microstructural informations and chemical composition are essential for interpretation of corrosion tests. Electrochemical tests are worked out in 0,1M NaCl to observe and quantify corrosion behavior of the three kind of steel cords. Quantification is a significant element to establish predictive corrosion models. Two electrochemical techniques are used, measurements at global scale (voltammetry, electrochemical impedance, galvanic coupling ...) and locally measurements (microcell). Cette thèse explore les rôles rituels et sociaux des femmes au Tadjikistan et s’appuie sur seize mois d’enquête de terrain en zones urbaines et rurales. Deux fils conducteurs structurent l’analyse. Le premier porte sur la construction des féminités dans la société tadjike, tout particulièrement au regard du statut (acquis, perdu, reconquis) de femme mariée, extrêmement déterminant dans l’organisation des relations sociales. Le second interroge les rôles des femmes dans la reproduction familiale et sociale, tout particulièrement dans l’économie rituelle et matrimoniale. L’ensemble s’attache à montrer, au prisme des parcours matrimoniaux aujourd’hui extrêmement hachés des femmes, les négociations et adaptations de la société tadjike contemporaine aux bouleversements qu’elle a connus ces vingt dernières années : disparition de l’URSS, entrée dans l’économie de marché, la Guerre civile (1992-1997) et les migrations massives des hommes vers la Russie. Les enjeux ambivalents révélés par les mariages – étudiés comme performance, comme statut et comme relation – sont étudiés à deux niveaux : au niveau des femmes, pour qui le mariage constitue une ressource fondamentale autant qu’un carcan patriarcal ; et à celui des familles, pour qui le mariage est à la fois une obligation sociale et le lieu d’une contestation possible des hiérarchies en place. Située au croisement des études de genre, de parenté, d’économie rituelle et des recherches sur l’aire post-soviétique, cette thèse propose de saisir comment les transformations socioéconomiques récentes ont affecté les représentations et les relations de genre d’une part, et celles au sein de la famille, d’autre part.

This dissertation explores social and ritual roles of women in Tajikistan, based on a sixteen-month fieldwork conducted in both urban and rural areas. Two main threads structure the analysis. The first one addresses the construction of femininities in Tajik society, especially regarding their status (acquired, lost and conquered again) of “married woman” – which is extremely decisive for them to organize their social life. The second questions women’s roles in family and social reproduction, especially regarding ritual and matrimonial economy. Overall, this dissertation aims at showing that analyzing uneven and irregular women’s matrimonial itineraries reveals how negotiations and adaptations of Tajik society to ongoing transformations have been proceeding – following the upheavals this society has been going through: the breakdown of the USSR, the integration to market economy, the Civil war (1992-1997) and the wide migratory fluxes of men going to Russia. The ambiguous stakes contained in marriage – understood as a performance, a status and a relation – are analyzed at two levels: at the level of women, for whom marriage remains a crucial resource as much as a patriarchal constrain; and at the level of families, for whom marriage is both a social necessity and the opportunity to challenge former hierarchies. Le Titane (Ti) est un matériau biocompatible largement utilisé dans le domaine biomédical, notamment pour les implants orthopédiques (prothèse de hanche ou du genou par exemple). Il se distingue plus particulièrement par son excellente résistance à la corrosion et sa capacité d’ostéo-intégration. Cependant, une surface plane de Ti n’est pas assez bioactive pour être implantée ; il est nécessaire d’avoir recours à un traitement de surface pour améliorer ses propriétés. La modification de la surface du titane par anodisation permet la synthèse de nanotubes (NTs) de TiO2 ordonnés et verticalement alignés. Cette technique, peu couteuse, rapide et facile à mettre en œuvre permet également de contrôler finement la morphologie des NTs (diamètre, longueur, aspect des parois…). De plus, les NTs étant amorphes après anodisation, la structure cristalline peut être ajustée par un traitement thermique, conduisant à une structure anatase (450°C) ou à une structure mixte d’anatase et de rutile (550°C).Ainsi, des surfaces de différentes morphologies et différentes structures cristallines ont été synthétisées dans ce travail de thèse, afin d’évaluer l’influence des caractéristiques morpho-structurelles sur la résistance à la corrosion en milieu physiologique et sur la bioactivité (formation d’hydroxyapatite et réponse cellulaire).Nous avons démontré dans cette étude que les NTs cristallisés présentent une plus grande résistance à la corrosion et une meilleure bioactivité que les NTs amorphes (ou que les surfaces planes de Ti). Plus précisément, en tenant compte des aspects électrochimiques, thermiques, mécaniques, chimiques et de bioactivité, il semblerait que des NTs mixtes d’environ 720 nm de long et 90 nm de diamètre constituent une surface optimale pour les applications visées.D’autre part, dans le cadre de l’étude des propriétés électrochimiques de l’interface, une attention toute particulière a été accordée dans ce travail de thèse à la modélisation des résultats de mesures par Spectroscopie d’Impédance Electrochimique (SIE). Il s’avère que la réponse en impédance des NTs de TiO2 en milieu physiologique correspond au modèle d’électrode poreuse de De Levie. Toutefois, pour des électrodes poreuses non-idéales, cette théorie peut être généralisée et modélisée par des lignes de transmission. Ainsi, le modèle de ligne de transmission proposé dans cette étude s’ajuste de façon très satisfaisante aux mesures expérimentales. Il permet notamment de mettre en évidence la nature très peu réactive des NTs de TiO2, justifiant ainsi leurs applications dans le domaine biomédical.

▼ Ce travail de thèse est une contribution à la valorisation des écorces de l’orange « Maltaise demi-sanguine » tunisienne. L’objectif de ce travail est (i) d’étudier l’efficacité des différentes méthodes d’extraction en termes de teneurs en phénols totaux (PT), en flavonoïdes totaux (FT), en flavonoïdes individuels (FI) et en activité antioxydante des extraits et (ii) d’examiner l’effet inhibiteur de l’extrait contre la corrosion de l’acier en milieu acide et basique. Pour cela, cinq méthodes d’extraction ont été utilisées : l’extraction conventionnelle par solvant, ECS (éthanol (80%), m/v: 5g:50ml, 30 min, 35°C et agitation mécanique à l'obscurité, 3 extractions successives), l’extraction assistée par micro-ondes, EAM (éthanol (80%), m/v: 5g:50ml, 3 extractions successives, 180s, 67-108°C et 100-400W ou à 35°C), l’extraction assistée par ultrasons, EAU (éthanol (80%), m/v: 5g:50ml, 30 min, 35°C, 100-200W et 3 extractions successives), l’extraction sous haute pression, EHP (éthanol (80%), m/v: 5g:50ml, 30 min, 35°C, 0,1-100 MPa et 1 seule extraction) et l’extraction par CO2 supercritique, SC-CO2 (éthanol (80%), m/v: 5g:50ml, 30 min, 35-80°C/10-22 MPa et 3 extractions successives). Ce coproduit est riche en ingrédients fonctionnels comme les phénols totaux (1,968±0,002 g EAG/100g MS) et la vitamine C (0,105±0,003 g/100g MS). Dix flavonoïdes individuels (FI) ont été identifiés dans l’extrait des écorces de l’orange Maltaise. La néohespéridine (0,860±0,003 g/100g de poudre des écorces d’orange) et l’hespéridine (0,551±0,001 g/100g de poudre des écorces d’orange) sont les composés majoritaires. Les conditions opératoires d’extraction qui ont permis d’obtenir les teneurs les plus élevées en PT et FT sont 200 W, 76°C pendant 180s pour l’EAM, 125 W pendant 30 min à 35°C pour l’EAU, 80°C et 10 MPa pour l’extraction SC-CO2 et 50 MPa, 35°C pendant 30 min pour l'EHP. La comparaison des différentes méthodes d’extraction aux mêmes conditions opératoires (m/v:5g/50ml, éthanol 80%, 35°C, 3 extractions successives) montre que l’EAM présente les teneurs les plus élevées en PT et en FT, suivie par EAU, ECS, EHP et l’extraction SC-CO2, ainsi qu’en flavonoïdes individuels majoritaires. Cependant, la valeur de l’activité antioxydante n’est pas systématiquement corrélée à la teneur en phénols la plus élevée et elle diffère selon le test utilisé. Pour le test ABTS, l’activité antioxydante suit l’ordre décroissant suivant : EHP, ECS, SC-CO2, EAM, EAU, alors que c’est EHP, ECS, EAM, EAU, SC-CO2, pour le test DPPH. L’étude de l’effet anti-corrosion de l’extrait des écorces de l’orange Maltaise ainsi que ses composés antioxydants majoritaires (la néohespéridine, la naringine et l’acide ascorbique) a révélé une efficacité d’inhibition significative de la corrosion de l’acier par l’extrait des écorces d’orange (95%) par rapport à celle de ses composés antioxydants individuels : l’acide ascorbique (92%), la néohespéridine (87%) et la naringine (56%).
