▼ This study determined the polychlorinated dibenzo-p-dioxins/ dibenzo- furans (PCDD/Fs) and 22 metals contents in ash in the super heater (SH), economizer (EC), semi-dryer absorber (SDA), fabric filter (FF), fly ash pit (FAP) and bottom residue (BR) in a municipal solid waste incinerator (KTMSWI). Experimental results showed that average PCDD/FS contents in ash samples from the SH, EC, SDA, FF, FAP and BR were 0.102, 0.788, 0.210, 1.95, 2.04 and 0.0218 ng I-TEQ /g, respectively. PCDD/Fs content was very low in the SH and BR due to high temperatures (around 461Â°C in the SH and 914Â°C in combustion chamber). Conversely, total PCDD/Fs content was significantly high in ash samples from the EC (around 340Â°C), mainly because the temperature is within the favorable range of 250-400Â°C for PCDD/FS formation due to de nova reformation mechanisms. Although the SDA operated at 245Â°C, the PCDD/FS content decreased very significantly, mainly because the temperature was relatively low and because calcium carbonate was introduced into flue gases to dechlorinate and dilute chlorine-containing species. PCDD/Fs were captured by the active carbon in the FF. Furthermore, the duration that fly ash remained in the FF was longer than that for other incinerator units, and thus causing an increasing trend of PCDD/Fs level downstream (except the SDA). Total PCDD/Fs emission factors (Î¼g /ton-waste; Î¼g I-TEQ /ton-waste) in ash samples from different units were: SH (42.3; 0.846), EC (326; 6.12 ), SDA (58.1; 1.10), FF (1540; 61.3), FAP (2950; 107) and BR (537; 4.31). Most PCDD/Fs in ash were contributed by the FF (about 56%), and the generation of PCDD/Fs in ash was significant (about 35%) during the transfer process from different units to the FAP. A strong and positive correlation in a logarithmic form existed between PCDD/Fs and chlorine (Cl-) contents in ash. The results showed that principal metals in the incinerator ash were Al, Fe, Zn, Ba, Pb and Cu. On average, these six metals accounted for 96.6%, 96.8%, 97.0%, 94.2% and 96.7% of the total metals in SH, EC, SDA, FF and BR ash, respectively. The emission factors of individual metals from different units were obtained. Volatile metals, such as Cd, Sn, Sb, Hg and Pb, were mostly in fly ash, while lithophilic metals, such as Al, Fe, Ti, V, Cu, Mn, Fe, Co, Ni, Cu, Sr, Mo, Ag, Ba and Cr+6 were mainly in bottom ash. Distribution ratios for total metals in SH, EC, SDA, FF and BR ash were 4.87%, 4.26%, 2.89%, 8.17% and 79.81%, respectively. That is, about 20.2% of total metals were in fly ash and most metals (about 79.8%) were in bottom ash. The Pb content in EC ash and Hg content in FF ash were between alarm contents and maximum legal limits, while Cd and Pb contents in FF ash exceeded the maximum legal limits. The existing transportation system for transferring fly ash from different units to a fly ash pit should be modified for recycling the valuable metals. ▼ The Environmental Protection Administration of Executive Yuan has been promoting the environmental protection policy for years, hoping to achieve the goal of âzero wasteâ and meet the international environmental standard by executing source minimization and resource recycling. The study aims to investigate the causality between the disbursement incurred from waste management and the effectiveness of control measures of the 22 Taiwanâs administrative regions from 2001 to 2010; variables of the examination are, disbursement incurred from waste management , disposal or treatment rate of municipal waste, and recycling rate of enforcement authority. After the gathering of data, the Granger test is conducted to determine the causality. Given that the data of disbursement incurred from waste management is hard to gather and the details of the actual disbursement of the evaluation indices are impossible to separate, the study postulates that, with consideration of the consistency and continuity of the budgeting process and the massive accident, all the disbursement incurred from waste management is used for the said purpose. The result of the empirical research indicates that disposal or treatment rate of municipal waste and disbursement incurred from waste management are not causally related. In the Granger test, the correlation between disbursement incurred from waste management and recycling rate of enforcement authority are significant at the 0.01 level; the correlation between recycling rate of enforcement authority and disbursement incurred from waste management are significant at the 0.1 level. Therefore, the âZero Wasteâ and âsource minimization and resource recyclingâ policy promoted by the Administration is effective in reducing the disbursement incurred from waste management. If we adhere to the environmental policy, we can not only improve the environmental health and life quality, but also be able to reduce the expense of waste management and invest the resource on other departments to achieve the effect of protecting the environment while maintaining economic growth. ▼ This study investigated the fuel properties, engine performances, and emissions of two biodiesels and diesel. The fuels examined were D100 (ultra-low sulfur diesel), B20 (20% palm biodiesel +80% ultra-low sulfur diesel) and B100 (palm biodiesel). The fuel properties analysis results showed that the benefits of biodiesel were high cetane value, extremely low sulfur and aromatic contents, and good lubricity. While the defects of biodiesel were high pour point. The particulates emitted from the burning of D100, B100, B20 were mainly fine particulates, also known as young aerosols. Particles smaller than 2.5 µm easily enter the trachea and bronchus via the upper respiratory tract, finally deposit on the alveolus, which could cause severe injury to human health. The emission of soluble organic fraction (SOF) from diesel engine using D100, B100 and B20 were 23.2%, 19.9% and 20.2%, respectively. The SOF of D100 is slightly higher than B100 and B20. It suggested that adding biodiesel into diesel can decrease SOF and thus reduce the potential danger to human health. The original total PAHs concentration of tail gas emitted from engines using D100, B100 and B20 were 241, 50.6 and 98.8 µg/m3, respectively. Adding 20% biodiesel into D100 could reduce 59.0% of PAHs emission. Moreover, the original total BaPeq concentration of tail gas emitted from diesel engines using D100, B100 and B20 were 0.714, 0.509 and 0.570 µg/m3, respectively. Adding 20% biodiesel into D100 could also reduce 20.2% of total BaPeq emission. Hence, adding biodiesel into diesel can effectively reduce the emission of PAHs and the potential danger to human health. The emission factors of carbonyl compounds from diesel engines using D100, B100 and B20 were 395, 1,170 and 326 mg/BHP-hr, respectively. carbonyl compounds of B100 were obviously higher than D100 and B20. The results indicated that using pure palm biodiesel in diesel engine can increased the emission of carbonyl compounds. However, adding 20% biodiesel into D100 can effectively reduce 17.5% of carbonyl compounds emission. ▼ As dioxin is a hazardous air pollutant, the control of the associated emissions has become an important environmental issue of public concern. The Taiwan Environmental Protection Agency (TWEPA) started the management of dioxin from 1996 by regulating the emission standards for major emission sources such as waste incinerators, electric arc furnaces in steel making industries, or sintering furnaces in steel industries and other stationary sources. To date, the TWEPA is actively reviewing and revising the relevant standards and regulations, with the annual inspections of the emissions sources and update of the national emission databases. In these years, the emission of dioxin from secondary non-ferrous metal smelting industries has become another topic that draws attentions of many developed countries in the world. In 2006, it has been regulated that the dioxin emissions from secondary aluminum or copper smelting industries are required to be inspected at least once every two years, further addressing the important concern of dioxin emission from secondary non-ferrous metal smelting industries in Taiwan. With the focus on the stationary sources in Kaohsiung City, mainly the public and private secondary aluminum smelting factories, this study collected information from the emission inventories and environmental monitoring data, reflecting the current scenario of dioxin emission in the city area of concern. Furthermore, by considering the viewpoints of emission variation, waste treatment cost, and civil penalty, this study attempted to investigate the impacts of tightening the current dioxin emission standard to 0.5ã0.4ã0.3 ng I-TEQ/Nm3 on these sources, with respect to the influences on the dioxin emissions, additional costs for waste treatment, civil penalties, and benefits due to reduction of dioxin emission into the atmosphere. This study is expected to provide insights into the effects of tightening dioxin emission standards from different points of view for other legally-responsible agencies, governmental or non-governmental organizations with related interests to develop proper solutions for improving the management strategies or regulatory systems. Given the emission conditions of dioxin in Kaohsiung City from 2008 to 2014, for the impact of tightening the regulatory standard on the dioxin emission, lowering the dioxin emission standard to 0.5ã0.4ã0.3ng I-TEQ/Nm3 could reduce the amount of the emission by 0.208ã0.640 ã1.256 g I-TEQ/yr, respectively. The reduction ratios were 3.12%ã9.61%ï¼18.86% for three different standards. However, dioxin not released into the atmosphere is transferred to solid wastes such as ashes produced in the smelting processes. Considered that excess dioxin is transferred and contained in the solid wastes due to more stringent dioxin emission standards, the possible cost increases of treating additional solid wastes from 2008 to 2014 were estimated. ▼ With the global campaign of carbon reduction and sustainable development continue to expand, green environmental conservation has become a vital concern in our modern age. The green energy industry is now very important. The recycling and reuse of fermented organic waste contribute to biomass energy that constitutes a basis for strategies by the green energy industry. In âChallenge 2008 Six-Year National Development PlanâGreen IndustryâResource Recycle and Reuse Projectâ, approved by the Executive Yuan and implemented by the Environmental Protection Administration in related policies, a recycle and transport system of household organic waste was established and supported by the efforts of all village and township offices across Taiwan. Diverse developments for the use of biomass energy derived from plants, marsh gas, and organic waste have been achieved through innovative approaches and research among industries, government, and academia. The reuse of organic waste, development of organic fertilizer and livestock fodder, and power generation by marsh gas, and bio-fuels are derivative products of biomass energy. Currently, products made from organic waste have been developed and manufactured in counties and cities all over Taiwan, and related products, such as soil conditioners, organic fertilizers and organic fodder, have been promoted in villages and local communities, forming an excellent green energy cycle and fulfilling the public policy of resource recycle and reuse. Inline with the Green Supply Chain, this study aimed to better understand the measures adopted in the promotion of organic waste in local areas from the perspectives of the concepts regarding the recycling of organic waste and public policy. Through qualitative data collection, including in-depth interviews, focus group and participant observation, this research investigated how the recycling of organic waste can be applied in daily life to reach the target of fully recycling garbage and other waste to improve execution efficiency and how the benefits to the general public who join the efforts can be increased in a relatively simple way. ▼ Methods used for waste disposal as described in Taiwanâs waste management policies evolve from landfill to incineration supplemented by landfill, incineration combined with landfill, and now technology that is economical or feasible in promoting recycling and reuse, in order to gradually achieve the goals of resource recycling and zero waste. However, the continuous development of industry and business in Taiwan has led to the continuous production of waste. As the volume of current landfills is limited and it is not easy to establish new landfills, facilities are needed for final management of the waste produced by enterprises. In light of this, the Environmental Protection Administration of the Executive Yuan promulgated the Waste Disposal Policy Assessment Notes in April, 2012, in which promotion of the policy on the Removal of Waste to Rehabilitate Landfills was planned. This policy provides county and city governments with a reference as to whether they should proceed with final disposal or temporary storage of waste. Following this policy, this study explored the questions facing the removal of waste to rehabilitate landfills by means of rent (or rehabilitate)-operate-transfer (ROT) and the possible outcomes of this project. To discuss the feasibility of the ROT project for the removal of waste to rehabilitate existing public landfills, the scope of this study included the closed public landfills in Tainan City. A piece of land of the Taiwan Sugar Corporation was rented and used as the object of this research on the removal of waste to rehabilitate landfill A. Basic data on the current status of the landfill, its operations and management, the environmentally friendly facilities in its main part and the analysis of historical waste were collected and established. Data on the current statuses of waste management facilities in Tainan City (including those of public landfills currently in operation, landfills and facilities in incineration plants) were also collected to be used as a reference regarding the planning of subsequent operations. Subsequent operations management of the landfill was planned and subsequent optimization measures were then taken to establish basic hypotheses and parameters related to the case study, so as to conduct various feasibility studies on the ROT project for the case. The findings of these feasibility studies were used to discuss the development projects on the feasibility of private participation in the removal of waste to rehabilitate landfills and the development plans that meet both the public and private interests. A feasibility assessment model for the complimentary measures was planned. Finally, the feasibility analysis on the ROT project, regardless of market, law, engineering technology, finance, land acquisition and environmental impact, concluded that the project is feasible. The significance of management in terms of social and economic benefits, as well as government finance, was also summarized. ▼ The objective of this study was to remove mercury vapor from municipal waste incinerator (MWI) by the adsorption of powder activated carbon (PAC) prepared from the pyrolysis of waste tire. The study focused on the measurement of mercury concentration in flue gas emitted from municipal waste incinerator, the preparation of PAC from the pyrolysis of the waste tire and impregnated with sulfur, and the adsorption capacity of mercury by the self-made PAC. The measurement of heavy metals in flue gas emitted from four typical MWIs was conducted in this study. Experimental results obtained from the measurement of mercury from flue gas indicated that the removal efficiency of mercury ranged from 83.71%~96.22%for the tested MWIs. This study revealed that the injection of PAC in flue gas would enhance the removal efficiency of mercury. Besides, oxided mercury (Hg2+) can be removed much more easily than elemental mercury (Hg0). Experimental results obtained from the pyrolysis of waste tires indicated that the pyrolysis temperature of waste tire was approximately 400~500â, and the percentage of carbon residue is 35~37%. With higher temperature and water feed rate and longer activation time, the specific surface area and total pore volume of PAC increased while the average pore radius decreased. The highest specific surface area of PAC obtained in this study was 996 m2/g. In addition, experimental results obtained from sulfur impregnation process indicated that the specific surface area of PAC decreased dramatically as sulfur was added to PAC. Experiment results obtained from the adsorption capacity of HgCl2 on PAC by column test indicated that PAC with higher specific surface area could adsorb more HgCl2 at room temperature (25â). The adsorption capacity of sulfur impregnated PAC decreased at 25â was due to the decrease of specific surface area of PAC. However, results from the comparison of two PAC with similar specific surface area indicated that the PAC with higher sulfur content had higher adsorption capacity. It suggested that the addition of sulfur to PAC could enhance the adsorption of HgCl2 at 25â. Experimental results obtained from column tests at 150â showed that the adsorption capacity of PAC increased as sulfur content of PAC increased. These results suggested that the adsorption mechanism of HgCl2 by PAC was mainly physical adsorption at lower temperature and it was chemisorption at higher temperature. Besides, the self-made PAC demonstrated the similar adsorption capacity of HgCl2 with commercial PAC used in MWIs. ▼ Furnace slag is the by-product from steel making process. Desulfurization slag (DS) was produced from the desulphurization process of molten irons in high temperature furnaces processes. DS is heterogeneous oxide materials which are compounded by some main oxides such as SiO2, FeO, CaO, SiO2, MnO, Al2O3, and MgO due to their mass percentage. Because DS has high pH characteristics (12.5), this limits its recycle and reuse. The objective of this study was to evaluate the potential of applying DS as the construction materials or amendments in the aquacultural industry to improve the aqualcultural water quality in the fish farm. The basic characteristic analyses show that the major chemical compositions of powder DS were CaO, SiO2, Fe2O3 and Al2O3. The major crystalline phase composed of SiO2, Ca(OH)2 and CaCO3. Results of DS release test show that when DS could increase pH and alkalinity value in water. Results of micro-structure analysis of powder DS surface showed there were many non-porous materials and heavy metals on DS. Results from the nutrient removal tests show that the ammonia nitrogen adsorption capacity were 0.036 mg/L and 0.069 mg/L when the initial concentration were 10 mg/L and 30 mg/L, respectively. Results form the adsorption model validation test indicate that the adsorption phenomena could fit in Langmuir model. The adsorption capacities of phosphate were 26.4 mg/L and 76.6 mg/L when the initial phosphate concentrations were 10 mg/L and 30 mg/L, respectively. The calculated values of thermodynamic parameters show that the adsorption reaction for ammonia nitrogen was endothermic non-spontaneous process, and the adsorption reaction for phosphate was exothermic spontaneous process. However, the enthalpy change (ÎH) showed that adsorption reaction of DS for ammonia nitrogen was physical adsorption, and the adsorption reaction for phosphate was chemical sorption. In the algae culture experiment, results show that when 25 mg/L of DS was supplied, the growth rate of Chlorella sp. could be enhanced. Thus, the powder DS could enhance the growth of Chlorella sp. A field study using a fish farm as the study site was conducted to evaluate the impact of DS on fish farm water quality when DS was applied as the filling and construction materials of the fish farm. Results show that addition of DS had no significant effect on groundwater and pond water quality. Results from the organic matter analysis of the pond water using EEFM show that humus-like and soluble microbial product (SMP) materials were detected. The dominant algae in the pond water included Scenedesmus sp. and Chlorella sp. indicating the pond water quality was in good conditions. Addition of DS would increase of water alkalinity preventing the acidification of pond water due to the fish feed and fish excreta. Results of heavy metal analysis of soil, groundwater, and pond water complied with the relevant environmental standards. ▼ In this thesis, the characteristics of high power solid-state pulsed laser by using topological insulator Bi2Te3 saturable absorber were investigated. First, the high yield of Bi2Te3 nanosheets were successfully fabricated by hydrothermal exfoliation, which had been certificated with X-ray diffraction, raman spectrum characterizations, energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy, atomic force microscopy, scanning electron microscopy, and transmission electron microscopy. All the results confirms anvantanges and feasibility of convient route for producing saturable absorber. This is beneficial to further commercial solid-state laser applications. In addition, we demonstarted passive solid-state pulsed laser by exfoliated topological insulators Bi2Te3 and reliazed stable Q-switching operation by folded resonator in order to prevent residual pumping power. The obtained pulse energy is over than 5 Î¼J at 1.06 Âµm. This is the greatest value in TI-based solid-state laser to our best knowledgement. Finally, by virtue of improved resonator, the optimized Q-switching performances compare favorably with different coverage of saturable absorber at 1.06 Âµm and 1.34 Âµm. We have experimentally demonstrated that output power of 326 mWãpulse energy of 2.8 Î¼J and pulse duration of 673 ns at 1.34 Âµm waveband. Furthermore, we have displayed the influence of thermal effect on saturable absorber within resonator for the first time. By analysing the analogue process of beam waist and transforming the position of saturable saturaber within resonator, it will reach the higher pulse power and energy on account of contributions to more topological insulators. Moreover, we oberserved that low threshold characteristics of topological insulators as fast saturable absorber accompanied with increasing pumping power would lead to excessively high repetition rate. ▼ Extracellular volume (ECV) fraction is the volumetric ratio of extracellular space to the myocardium volume. ECV fraction has been used in the evaluation of many myocardiopathies diseases, such as myocardial fibrosis. In this thesis, a semi-automated method is proposed to obtain the ECV mapping of left ventricle by using cardiac computed tomography. A 3D demonstration of ECV on the ventricular surface is also shown for better visualization. The image processing method of this study is consisted of four major parts, including image registration, tissue segmentation, ECV calculation and 3D visualization. In image registration, the non-contrast and late-phase enhanced equilibrium images would be registered to a high spatial-resolution and high contrast data set which is collected immediately after the administration of contrast agent, called angiographic images. Meanwhile, a semi-automated segmentation is applied to delineate the region of left ventricular myocardium and blood pool in the chamber. The signal change (ÎHU) of myocardium and blood is calculated to obtain the ECV mapping and show the ECV fraction of the whole left ventricle on the 3D surface. The results of four subjects, including three normal and one patient with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, are shown. The results of segmentation using different parameters are compared and discussed. In addition, the robustness of the semi-segmentation is examined by randomly selecting the seed point in repetitive experiments. It is shown that the ECV mapping is successfully done on all four subjects. However, the ECV value at the edge of ventricle may be over or under the normal range due to insufficient accuracy of registration. It is believed that the pixel-by-pixel ECV mapping would be of great clinical value if the accuracy of image registration could be improved in the near future. ▼ The features of upwelled water are cold, salty and nutrient-rich. However, factors such as the air-sea exchanges of heat affect temperature, and freshwater input from rivers, precipitation and evaporation affect salinity. As biologically important elements are mostly in the dissolved inorganic forms in young upwelled waters, and are mostly in the particulate organic forms in old upwelled waters, the aging status of upwelled waters can be expressed as the relative percentages of biologically important elements in the inorganic and organic forms. Further, nutrients may be consumed by biological productivity. For these reasons, we hereby judge upwelling in the Taiwan Strait (TS) between 2000 and 2002 by the Degree of Nutrient Consumption (DNC, DNCC = and DNCX = ï¼X is nitrogen or phosphorus). The value of DNC is low in young upwelled waters but high in old upwelled waters. In summer, autumn and winter, waters at, or east of, a front in the northeastern Taiwan Strait were affected by the Kuroshio off eastern Taiwan. This front divides the Kuroshio water, the South China Sea (SCS) water that flows through the TS and the Coastal China Current water (in winter). The implications are that not all currents in the Taiwan Strait flow in a northerly direction, even in summer. Because the axis of Kuroshio moved away from eastern Taiwan and upwelling weakened in SCS in 2002, salinity east of the front was fresher, and nutrient and DON were lower in 2002 than 2001. On the other hand, upwelling induced higher DON west of the front. In August, 2002, the water in the southern TS was higher in temperature, more salty, but nutrient and DON were lower than in 2001 because of weakened upwelling in the SCS, and water that intruded into the TS had a higher percentage of Kuorshio. The trend of upwelling, DNCC,P,N was along the west Penghu Channel from bottom to surface. Rates of temperature, salinity and DNCC,P,N variation were greater during 2001 than in 2002, reflecting slower rate of upwelling in 2002. In this laboratory-scale feasibility study, a hybrid two-stage process combining fiber filtration (FF) and nanofiltration (NF) was applied to remove to suspended solids (SS) and TCE from contaminated groundwater for water purification. In this study, a man-made kaolin solution was used to simulate groundwater purification using FF system. Then, microfiltration (MF), ultrafiltration (UF), and NF systems were applied for TCE removal. The hybrid membrane process using FF and NF units was used to evaluate the feasibility on TCE removal. The scanning electron microscope (SEM) and energy dispersive spectroscope (EDS) were used to investigate membrane morphology and structure after use. A 3-D excitation emission fluorescence matrix (EEFM) was used to evaluate the potential of membrane organic fouling. Results show that the optimization filtration velocity of FF was 15.3 m/hr, and the observed TCE and SS removal efficiencies were 80% and 60%, respectively. Removal mechanisms for MF and UF were mainly sieving, and the removal mechanism for NF was mainly electrostatic repulsion. Results indicate that NF had the highest TCE removal efficiency (98.2%). When initial TCE concentration was 1 mg/L, NF membrane pore might shrink caused increased TCE removal (rejection). When TCE concentration was higher 1 mg/L, membrane damage and pore enlargement was observed with decreased TCE removal efficiency. The observed SS, sulfate, and hardness removal efficiencies were 99.8%, 98.7%, and 98.7% respectively, when FF and NF hybrid process was used. Higher TCE concentration might enlarge membrane pore, which caused decreased membrane separation and increased flux. Approximately 46% of flux drop was observed when NF was used alone compared to the hybrid membrane process using FF as the first treatment stage. Membrane analyses show that residual TCE was adsorbed on the membrane. Low zeta potential of groundwater was observed due to the compressed electric double layer, which caused aggregation of particle. High zeta potential of permeate was due to the particle dispersive through hybrid process. Results from SEM analysis show that membrane morphology was damaged by TCE, and heavy metal in groundwater deposited on membrane. Results of EEFM analysis indicate that groundwater contained humic acid (HA) and soluble microbial by-product (SMP). HA and SMP might be adsorbed on fiber filter, and extracellular polymeric substances (EPS) that attached on fiber filter might be washed out. The organic powders on the surface of the fiber filter might be washed out causing the increased in NPDOC concentrations. ▼ The purpose of the research is to investigate the effect of grain size and volume fraction of austenite on mechanical properties of TRIP steels with sub-micrometer microstructure. By the heat treatment of isothermal bainitic transformation (150-350 °C) and austenite-reverted transformation (620-680 °C) , the experiment modifies elevated temperature and hold time to form the different grain size and volume fraction of austenite. The microstructure in the steels were investigated by X-ray diffraction (XRD), Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM)ãElectron Backscatter diffraction (EBSD)ãTransmission Electron Microscope (TEM). To realize the effect of the difference of microstructure in the steels, the mechanical properties of the steels were measured by tensile test. The experimental results showed that the grain size range of austenite is between 70 nm to 350 nm, the grain size range of ferrite is between 250 nm and 600 nm, and both overlap with film or block. The volume fraction of austenite is between 5 % and 30 %. The 0.2 % and 1 % offset yield strength follows the Hall-Petch relationship, the former adds from 500 MPa to 900 MPa and the later adds from 600 MPa to 1000 MPa when the dual phase in the steels is smaller. The tensile strength rises from 1200 MPa to 1700 MPa when the volume fraction of austenite in the steel increase from 10 % to 40 %. Therefore, the main key to effect the tensile stress is the volume fraction of austenite, and thinning the grain size of dual phase is a way to add the tensile stress. On the uniform elongation sides, the uniform elongation distribution falls in between 13 % and 24 %, and the main key to effect the uniform elongation is the stability of austenite. That is, the sample has higher uniform elongation at higher volume fraction of austenite and composition of C and Mn in the austenite. At last, thinning the grain size of austenite canât inhibit the transformation-induced plasticity in this experiment. The result also means that the main key to control the stability of austenite is the component percentage in the austenite.
