▼ Climacteric is a special stage in the natural cycle of life that integrates the women's menopause. This transitional phase is associated to changes that could influence women’s health and quality of life and should be considered the needs for adaptation at a bio-psy-socio-cultural and spiritual level in this stage of life with characteristics similar to other steps in women’s cycle of life. The repercussions on a couple’s relationship, implies that both have to make adaptations, at all levels, in an effort to maintain or improve the quality of life they enjoyed. We developed a descriptive study with a mixed approach in two phases, on the first one we intended to identify the social representations through the response to stimuli: menopause, climacteric, conjugal relationship and sexuality. On the second phase, we intended to understand the implications of climacteric on conjugal relationships, using a self-filling questionnaire resorting to EASAVIS, ISS and WOQOOL (Bref) scale in 116 couples. We headlight some ignorance concerning the climacteric stage and a connotation of menopause with disfunction and healthcare problems. In individual with lower ages and higher level of education correspond to a better quality of life and a bigger conjugal and sexual satisfaction. Men present a better quality of life and a more positive vision about marriage. Marital functioning recommends settings adjustments over time in conjugal relationship. The way each couple commits and lives is own relationship, influences and are influenced by the different climacteric stages. They also consider that don’t have enough preparation to healthily experience this stage of cycle of life. Investing in professional formation for a individual and culturally appropriated intervention in the transition of menopause and improve the response of health services seems an important challenge in improving the quality of life, well-being and equilibrium of women and couples. ▼ Over the years, a process of development of intercultural contacts has occurred in East Timor, both between Timorese belonging to different ethnic and language groups and between Timorese and other people, some of them being in a position of authority. Despite the changes occurred in society at various levels, some of its institutions and traditional values still remain. The investigation purpose of this study, which is of an ethnographic nature, is to describe and compare beliefs, attitudes and practices relating to reproductive health in respect of Timorese people belonging to different ethnic and language groups in East Timor, as well as to identify changes in the reproductive health behaviour of Timorese resulting from the contact between cultures. This study has an exploratory, descriptive and comparative character and the methodology used was of a qualitative nature. The field study was carried out in ten of the thirteen districts of East Timor, in rural and urban environments, and covered eleven ethnic and language groups. Data was collected from key informants, health professionals providing reproductive healthcare, traditional midwives and women and couples with children, through a snowball chain sampling procedure. The gathering of data was carried out by means of exploratory semi-structured interviews, direct and participant observation, and photographic and cinematographic observation. Content analysis was the procedure used for the analysis of the collected data. We concluded that culture has a strong influence on the behaviour of women and families from conception to the period after childbirth. There is a great ethnic and language / cultural diversity in East Timor and many beliefs and practices relating to reproductive health are not present in the whole country. The fertility rate is high and large families are generally preferred, with short intervals between births and little use of contraceptive methods. Despite the implementation of family planning programmes firstly by Indonesia and more recently by the Timorese government, many women do not have access to information and contraceptive methods. In turn, some factors of a social and cultural nature also have a great influence at this level. There are certain advices, taboos and restrictions relating to pregnant women, which aim at protecting the mother and the foetus from physical damage. The majority of women go to prenatal care appointments at healthcare institutions, but there are also many others who seek a traditional midwife when they have problems during pregnancy, so that she will verify whether the baby is in a good position and correct it if deemed necessary, or determine its gender. Home birth is generally preferred, the woman being usually assisted by relatives or by a traditional midwife. The postnatal period involves a series of procedures based on the home confinement of both mother and newborn, following certain recommendations and food restrictions, and the application of heat in various manners. ▼ The present dissertation privileges the comparative perspective in the confrontation of certain narrative texts from Cape Verde, Guinea Bissau and São Tomé and Príncipe, identifying affinities and differences, both in form and in content, namely, in what concerns the relation of the themes of memory and identity, and also the subject of the woman or the female figure in the scope of the study of the character as a fundamental category of the narrative. In the comparative reading of the texts summoned, the starting point of this dissertation was the in-depth study of the primary sources, that is, the authors we set out to study - Albertino Bragança, from São Tomé and Príncipe, Orlanda Amarílis, from Cabo Verde, and Filinto de Barros, from Guinea Bissau, followed by the secondary and theoretical sources that the bibliography at the end of the work tries to account for. The comparative approach was centered around the female figure, relating it to the colonial past that shapes it, and, therefore, also to the issues of identity and memory, history and / or tradition, thematic topics that build a determined imaginary, as for example in the stories “Rosa do Riboque” and “Reencontro”, in Rosa do Riboque and other tales, and in the novel Aurélia de Vento, both by the pioneer writer of São Tomean fiction, Albertino Bragança, or in the stories “Casa dos Mastros” and “Maira da Luz”, included, respectively, in the anthology A Casa dos Mastros and “Desencanto” and “Cais do Sodré ”, in Cais do Sodré té Salamansa, by the author well known in the subject of women's literature, Orlanda Amarílis, and, finally, Filinto de Barros, the novel entitled Kikia Matcho, O Desalento do Combatente. In the first chapter, an attempt was made to make a theoretical framework of comparatism, as we consider that the comparative perspective in the analysis of literary texts broadens and reconfigures the reflection on the issue of national, cultural and literary identity, enabling the researcher or student of these matters to recognize that he is confronted with different literary "places", with their own characteristics, even though they share a common history reinforced by the use of the Portuguese language through which these people officially express themselves and concomitantly come together. The second chapter presents a succinct view of the period and literary tendencies of the summoned writers, as well as an analysis of the works chosen from the perspective of the themes and motives represented: daily life, exile and diaspora, disillusion, forgetfulness and loneliness, which, in turn, delimit and shape the thoughts of the character. The third chapter deals with the contextualization or framing of questions of identity, history and memory, establishing a bridge with literature, taking into account that the selected texts address these issues, which are central and decisive in the context of the above-mentioned narratives. ▼ In modernity, which values individualism, family formation and sustainability based on affection and the guarantee of social rights, there is one tendency to occur a tension between family and State in defining the limits of (public) intervention on violence in the family, understood as a bastion of privacy. The definition of violence against women as a gender issue is based on social intolerance towards male domination, defining the States and not the families, as responsible in solving this social problem. Partnership has been discursively presented as good practice, representing collective commitment to deal with the phenomenon, however there are few sociological studies addressing the intervention done in partnership. This study aim is to understand whether the intervention in partnership translates innovation, identifying its dimensions, or whether it corresponds only to an expectation of policy makers and social actors, willing to change the support system to women victims of conjugal violence. By developing this research, based on a case study (including the five partnerships organised in Portugal until April 2008 and dedicated to intervention with women victims of conjugal violence), we realize that these social actors are innovating in the reorganization of services and improvement of the intervention practices, but they are doing it by investing more in technocratic than on socio-political dimension of intervention. There are elements reflecting a facet of modernity, such as rationality in action, social participation at the local level addressing the issue and the definition of violence towards women as a gender issue. In spite of this, there is a lack of reflexive action and of knowledge development based on the practices of intervention. These elements do not allow us to identify these social actors as doing critical intervention and promoting innovation through partnership. This study highlights the gap between intentions and practices of partnerships and between action and knowledge of the phenomenon of marital violence. A mulher campesina tem conquistado mais visibilidade em v?rios pontos da Amaz?nia atrav?s de sua participa??o na luta por terras, em defesa da floresta e dos recursos naturais. O modo de vida dos camponeses amaz?nicos, e de modo especial das mulheres, possui uma rela??o estreita com os rios, onde a v?rzea ? parte importante da sua vida que ? intimamente ligada ao movimento das ?guas. Nesta perspectiva, a partir de um estudo etnogr?fico realizado em 2011 e 2012, na comunidade Santa Luzia da Ilha do Baixio - munic?pio de Iranduba, v?rzea do Baixo Solim?es, estado do Amazonas ? este trabalho tem o objetivo de refletir como se articula a no??o de sustentabilidade com a percep??o que as mulheres da v?rzea amaz?nica t?m sobre seu modo de vida. Desta forma, o primeiro cap?tulo ? ?Meu diaa-dia ? muito corrido?: a mulher camponesa de Santa Luzia da Ilha do Baixio ?, trata da ?experi?ncia etnogr?fica? (Clifford, 1998), apresentando o modo de vida das mulheres camponesas de Santa Luzia da Ilha do Baixio a partir de descri??es e an?lises da comunidade da fam?lia e do trabalho. O segundo cap?tulo ? ?As mulheres s?o que nem os homens?: rela??es de g?nero nas organiza??es sociais da Ilha ? analisa as rela??es de poder expressas na no??o de g?nero, a partir da din?mica das organiza??es sociais que mais se destacam na ilha. Por fim, no terceiro cap?tulo ? ?E est?o falando tanto em meio ambiente...?: conex?es entre Santa Luzia da Ilha do Baixio e sustentabilidade ? fazemos uma breve an?lise cr?tica do conceito de desenvolvimento sustent?vel e, com isso, procuramos compreender as conex?es poss?veis entre as camponesas do Baixio e a no??o de sustentabilidade, principalmente atrav?s do processo de organiza??o social das mulheres. ▼ This thesis aims to draw the routes of feminisms in Portugal in the last sixty years of history. A rather ambitious purpose in a country where historical memory of feminisms in the first half of the XX century is blurred either because of the dictator regime of the Estado Novo with the ideology of women’s submission or the dogmatic thought of the political left wing parties that could not understand the plural dimension of the feminisms and the gender contradictions in society. Since the capacity to questioning is one of the characteristics of the feminist theories, this study gives visibility to feminisms as a plural current of thought and action, and it also shows its weakness, its latency and eruption periods, according to Karen Offen (OFFEN, 2008:39). Furthermore, ways are open to reconfigurating the feminist theories, taking into consideration the context of women’s different ways of living in the country and in a global world This work values the courageous militancy of women during the fascist period, but doesn’t omit the lack of questioning the subordination of women beyond the range of their political rights. One of the reasons why feminism was “diluted” with antifascism was the fact that democratic and class issues were not mingled with gender issues. Despite the democratic changes of the country in April 1974 and the strong participation of women, the word “feminism” remained out of the political language and the depenalisation of abortion could only be achieved in the new millennium. This study analyses these routes and their contradictions and shows that the great evolution in the status of Portuguese women in the last three decades does not exhaust the reasons for a wide and demanding feminist agenda respecting a plural feminist subject where the differences in women are taken into consideration, i. e. ethnic, social class, region, sexual orientation, religion or age. ▼ Este trabalho procura problematizar o papel reprodutor e produtor das escolas públicas de ensino industrial na construção e afirmação da sociedade burguesa e das concepções de homem ganha-pão e da mulher dona-de-casa em finais do século XIX e inícios do século XX. A problemática que conformou a presente investigação constituiu-se na intersecção de três interrogações de fundo. Em primeiro lugar, como interpretar a frequência feminina das escolas industriais públicas oitocentistas e respectivas oficinas, independentemente da localização geográfica, desde a sua fundação, em 1884? Em segundo lugar, qual o grau de congruência entre as representações discursivas sobre as mulheres e a realidade da sua situação face ao trabalho na sociedade portuguesa oitocentista? Como se relacionavam as modalidades e finalidades de formação profissional para o sexo feminino propostas no quadro institucional oitocentista com as representações sobre o trabalho das mulheres presentes nos discursos coevos? Em terceiro lugar, como se coadunou a oferta de ensino industrial para o sexo feminino a uma representação social das mulheres que as dissociava, cada vez mais, da noção de trabalho produtivo e profissional? Que tipo de representações sobre a relação das mulheres com a(s) actividade(s) profissional(ais) são veiculadas pelos discursos políticos, normativos e técnicos sobre o ensino industrial? Em que medida é que este tipo de oferta formativa por parte do Estado influenciou, de forma directa ou simbólica, o reposicionamento socioprofissional das mulheres que o frequentaram? O estudo analisa, na perspectiva da história das mulheres, entendida como história relacional, isto é, uma história das relações sociais entre mulheres e homens, a formação profissional feminina no quadro do ensino industrial público em Portugal, desde a criação das primeiras escolas, em 1884, até à implantação da 1ª República, na dupla perspectiva das realidades e das representações. ▼ O presente estudo, efetuado no Estabelecimento Prisional de Tires, pretendeu investigar a Casa das Mães – local onde se encontram as mães reclusas, grávidas e com os seus filhos até aos 3 anos de idade e também a Creche, contexto educativo onde as crianças são acompanhadas por educadoras de infância. Este estudo emergiu pelo fato de se constatar o aumento de mulheres nas instituições prisionais, provenientes de várias regiões do mundo, sobretudo ligadas ao correio e consumo de drogas, algumas grávidas e do número de crianças que nascem e acompanham as suas progenitoras até aos 3 anos de idade. Assim, reconhecendo a importância dos primeiros anos de infância no desenvolvimento da criança, este estudo pretendeu perceber como se processava esse desenvolvimento e a sua educação, tendo em consideração os contextos e as influências no Estabelecimento Prisional de Tires. Neste estudo exploratório e nos primeiros quatro capítulos, foram abordados vários assuntos relacionados com a primeira infância e a ligação à figura materna. Por estar inserido na Área da Educação Multicultural, foi dedicado um capítulo à Sociedade e Culturas. Sendo este estudo, o meio prisional, o último capítulo foi dedicado ao sistema prisional, no qual se analisaram as prisões femininas no nosso país e na Europa, focalizando sobretudo a situação das reclusas grávidas ou com filhos em idade precoce. Os contextos analisados foram a Casa das Mães e a Creche. Tendo em consideração os vários condicionalismos inerentes a um estabelecimento prisional, a amostra deste estudo foi constituída por 15 díades, agrupadas da seguinte forma – reclusas grávidas 4 díades; mães e respetivos filhos até 6 meses – 3 díades; mães e respetivos filhos com mais de 6 meses e que já frequentavam a creche – 8 díades. Tendo por base o paradigma qualitativo, foram utilizadas a observação participante, as entrevistas e histórias de vida. Pelo estudo efetuado nestes contextos, em que se verificaram condições de habitabilidade e de apoio a mães – reclusas e seus filhos, são, de facto, modelos a criar noutros EPs do país, de forma a melhorar o atendimento a esta população. Este estudo levanta questões que interpelam a sociedade que somos todos nós, implicação que deverá começar no nosso bairro, na nossa cidade, no nosso país e numa área muito precoce e muito sensível que é a Educação de Infância. Para que haja sociedades mais justas e mais saudáveis, são necessárias medidas preventivas e interventoras na saúde materno-infantil, na educação parental e sobretudo na proteção familiar e social. A presente pesquisa refere-se ao estudo realizado em uma universidade p?blica do Amazonas, para investigar a divis?o do trabalho dom?stico em casais de trabalhadores. Foi determinado como objetivo geral compreender as pr?ticas sociais que envolvem o homem e a mulher, na sua rela??o cotidiana e no exerc?cio de seus pap?is institucionalizados e, como s?o produzidas a divis?o dos trabalhos dom?sticos. Como objetivos espec?ficos foram definidos: identificar os pap?is sexuais vividos nas rela??es de g?nero e a exist?ncia de uma hierarquiza??o entre as atividades masculinas e femininas, analisar os significados de masculinidade e feminilidade e sua influ?ncia na divis?o das atividades dom?sticas, avaliar os papeis designados para homens e mulheres nas tarefas cotidianas no espa?o dom?stico. Em todas as sociedades existem diferen?as entre o que ? esperado, permitido e valorizado em uma mulher e o que ? esperado, permitido e valorizado em um homem. Estas diferen?as e desigualdades entre os g?neros s?o moldadas ao longo da hist?ria das rela??es sociais e em diferentes culturas, acarretando um impacto espec??co sobre o comportamento de mulheres e homens em todas as fases da vida e determinando diferen?as importantes na sa?de, educa??o, trabalho e na divis?o das tarefas cotidianas no espa?o dom?stico pela hierarquiza??o entre as atividades masculinas e femininas. A descri??o metodol?gica ficou estruturada da seguinte maneira: com rela??o aos objetivos, a pesquisa foi descritiva e explorat?ria e no que tange a abordagem, buscou-se conjugar a pesquisa quantitativa e qualitativa ? psicologia s?cio-hist?rica. O protocolo da pesquisa foi aplicado em 135 participantes, distribu?dos em 4 categorias, diferenciados em termos de g?nero, faixa et?ria, e escolaridade. A aplica??o ocorreu atrav?s da utiliza??o do instrumento (formul?rio misto) com o uso de escala do tipo Likert e, a forma de realiza??o foi a entrevista direta com os participantes, em diversos espa?os institucionais. Ap?s a aplica??o do protocolo, foram feitas as transcri??es das informa??es coletadas, para an?lise e discuss?o dos resultados. The presente research refers to the study carred out at a public university in Amazonas, to investigate the division of domestic work into working-class couples. It was determinate as general objective to understand the social practice that involve men and women, in their everyday relationship and in the exercise of their institutionalized roles, and how are produced the division of housework. ▼ Portugal signed the EU program "Strategic framework for European cooperation in education and training" (ET 2020), with objetives for European education systems. In this context, the Portuguese Ministry of Education published the Education Program 2015, with the main objetive "to raise the basic skills of Portuguese students" (Ministério da Educação [ME], 2010). Portugal has, since 2001, a law for flexible management of the curriculum, and has established the National Curriculum, with the identification of basic skills for each curriculum area, in each cycle of basic education. In this political context, it is essential that schools and teachers to understand that, in the way to expected school success, the curriculum "is the realization that each teacher meets with students" (Freitas, 1998, p. 25). It is urgent that schools are "Effective for All" (Ainscow, 1991, 2005), thus promoting the development of skills of all students, in the face of the diversity. All students are different relations with knowledge, interests and strategies of learning. The way to these goals is with the differential pedagogy, understanding it as the “break with the masterful pedagogy - the same lesson and the same exercises for all at the same time - but is mainly a way to put in place an organization that integrates, in order to place each student in the situation most favorable” (Perrenoud, 1997, cit. in Peixoto, 1998, p. 16) in the learning. In Portugal, it is implemented by a large group of teachers in different schools, models of Differential pedagogy: High/Scope model and the Modern School Movement’s model. The history of these models is born around the sixties and seventies of the twentieth centuries: the first in the United States of America, under the Piaget’s influence; and the second in Portugal, under the Freinet’s influence. The model High/Scope is centered in "active learning", while the model of the Modern School Movement (M.E.M.) is focused on "cooperative learning". Both models advocate a daily time to study autonomous, and the High/Scope known this time as the routine of the «plan-do-review» (or individual work) and the model of M.E.M. known as “self-study time”. Terminological differences highlight the differences in perspective. We studied two groups of primary school level, each implementing one of the models. We focused primarily on self-study time to be the time of adaptive education, a rich opportunity to develop skills according to the individual profile. Both models are in the way of differential pedagogy and can be an excellent contribution to the way of quality we want to walk, so that "inequalities before the school mitigate and, simultaneously, so the level of education rises" (Perrenoud, 2000a, p 19). ▼ Education and particularly higher education are key elements for personal and social development. Hence, the existence of a social support system that allows all citizens, regardless of their socio-economic background, to take an advantage of its multiple benefits, is so important. The social support for students is a priority vehicle for promoting equality of opportunities and social equity in higher education, especially at a time when higher education institutions face new and complex challenges, which require new and innovative answers. The main objective of this research was to identify, characterize and analyze the importance of social support in Portuguese higher education and its socioeconomic impacts. The aim was to characterize and understand the social support system for students from economically disadvantaged families and the available instruments in higher education institutions, in order to seek new responses and suggestions that could improve social and educational policies, to ensure the best possible social support for students with real needs. Student’s social support is a complex reality, with multiple stakeholders and interests, which included scholarship students and their families, social support services, higher education institutions and decision makers of social and educational policies. Because of this, we conducted present research based on a holistic perspective, close to an interpretative paradigm. As the research model, we chose the inductive method, to hopefully open door to new perspectives about the subject, though still combining it with the deductive method, which implied the adoption of a mixed scientific research, through the use of quantitative and qualitative methodologies. Our results confirmed the crucial importance of social support instruments, which allow the access and participation in higher education of students from lower socio-economic and educational backgrounds, most of which would be excluded without this support. Students have recognized the importance of those supports and its socio-economic impacts, allowing their frequency and achievement. They demonstrate a clear perception of its potential benefits, individual and social, not only financial, but also contributes for the formation of a more conscious and participatory citizenship. Key issues for the construction of a more just, equitable, cohesive and sustainable society. From the analysis it is possible to identify some aspects whichmight improve current support system. Hence, we concluded the study presenting a set of recommendations and suggestions to improve social supports available for economically disadvantaged students. ▼ Unwanted pregnancy represents a major public health problem worldwide, which translates itself into serious complications for women’s health, the foetus and the child, then becoming emergent to understand the different factors which may influence the effectiveness of the contraceptive practice. Faced with the cultural and ethnic diversity of the Portuguese society, with an emphasis on the feminine immigrant population, it has been considered important to identify and understand the knowledge, attitudes and practices when it comes to the contraceptive methods of women of African and Brazilian origin residing in Portugal, around Lisbon. A descriptive, exploratory and transversal study has been developed, with the resource to mixed methodology. A non-probability convenience sampling process has been carried out; the sample used is constituted by 75 participants, women in the reproductive age, living in Portugal for at least one year, coming from Brazil, Cape Verde, Angola, Guinea-Bissau and São Tomé and Príncipe. The gathering of data was carried out during a semi-structured interview and the data analysed in the SPSS 24.0 software (quantitative data) with the resource to the thematic content data analysis technique (qualitative data). The results highlight that the participants know of the existence of an average number of contraceptive methods, but generally present a low level of knowledge about their characteristics. Most have a positive attitude towards contraception and its benefits, but the choice to use contraception has revealed itself minimal, being the current practice based on methods which require proper and consistent use so they are efficient, and which rely on male participation. It is necessary for healthcare professionals to develop adequate communication and educational health strategies, promoting the knowledge acquisition by the woman/couple, and a free informed choice of the contraceptive method, with emphasis in the most vulnerable groups, bearing in mind the individual, group and cultural variability and particularities. Este estudo concentra-se na inten??o de averiguar de que forma se expressam as sexualidades e a erotiza??o dos corpos na Amaz?nia, sob o veio das rela??es de g?nero, dando especial relevo ao di?logo com a natureza por meio de narrativas selvagens e erotizadas. Os estudos sob a luz de g?nero t?m assumido relev?ncia nos dias atuais com grande potencial de an?lise, imprimindo um novo pensar no campo da sexualidade. Procuramos mostrar de que forma os indiv?duos se desenvolvem em seu ser de acordo com as suas singularidades culturais e sociais de g?nero, assumindo suas sexualidades conforme as orienta??es subjetivas que norteiam a sua condi??o humana. ?, pois, dentro das culturas que as sexualidades se expressam, constroem-se e se subjetivam. O estudo assumiu o aporte te?rico metodol?gico das abordagens qualitativas, num franco di?logo interdisciplinar no campo do complexus. O locus da pesquisa concentrou-se na Comunidade de Nossa Senhora das Gra?as, localizada na regi?o do Paran? do Lim?o de Cima, no munic?pio de Parintins, no Amazonas. A metodologia envolveu, tamb?m, narrativas er?ticas e selvagens colhidas a partir de dados secund?rios, somados ? decupagens de pel?culas sobre esses mesmos temas. Os resultados revelam que a erotiza??o ? um estado da alma, infinita, incontida e imoral, a qual se expressa, ?s vezes, por fora da racionaliza??o, longe, enfim, dos sistemas morais. Deve-se reconhecer, por fim, que as sexualidades (plurais), n?o se enquadram nas determina??es societais, elas s?o transgressoras, fugidias, ressignificando-se no tempo e no espa?o como um constructo social.

This study focuses on the intention to find out how the sexualities and the eroticization of bodies in the Amazon are expressed, under the vein of gender relations, giving special emphasis to the dialogue with nature through wild and eroticized narratives. Studies under the light of gender have assumed relevance in the present day with great potential for analysis, imparting a new thinking in the field of sexuality. We seek to show how individuals develop in their being according to their cultural and social gender singularities, assuming their sexualities according to the subjective orientations that guide their human condition. It is, therefore, within cultures that sexualities express themselves, construct and subjectivate themselves. The study assumed the theoretical methodological contribution of the qualitative approaches, in a frank interdisciplinary dialogue in the complexus field. The research locus focused on the Community of Nossa Senhora das Gra?as, located in the region of Paran? do Lim?o de Cima, in the municipality of Parintins, in Amazonas. The methodology also involved erotic and wild narratives collected from secondary data, coupled with the decupagens of films on the same subjects. ▼ In clinical practice and throughout the times, a social and multicultural reality came to light regarding a group of young teenagers who resorted to healthcare while already pregnant, sometimes in a late pregnancy stage, stating to have accepted it and being happy, some admitting to have planned it, whereas others referred that it “happened” but are willing to “take” it as abortion is not difficult. According to the National Statistics Office (2018), Portugal was the second country in the European Union with the highest rate of deliveries amongst mothers ages 15 to 19. The implications in these teenagers’ lives are of physical, psychological, educational and socio-economical order as the births in teenagers younger than 19 bring to the mother, the child and the community they are a part of several different concerns, which are currently being considered a public health problem. This evidence became a motivating factor for the development of a nonexperimental qualitative research, developed in a natural environment, whose main goals were to learn and analyse the values, beliefs and behaviours which lead to teenage pregnancy; describe universal and specific beliefs related to cultural values and behaviours in native adolescents or in migrants, and identifying the influences resulting from the contact between several cultures, arising from the migration process. It is an exploratory, descriptive and inductive study so that it can observe and comprehend the health determinants related with this phenomenon, as well as the social inequality and deletion process in specific communities, of underprivileged minorities. A micro-based approach took place in Amadora, a municipality with great social and cultural variability. A non-probabilistic sampling procedure was used, with a “snowball” sample in which qualified experts, “individuals of reference” and native and migrant pregnant teenagers have participated. Data collection was carried out with triangulation methods such as social-demographical questionnaires, semi-structured in-depth audio and film interviews, direct participant observation, photographs and other visual documents in social networks. For data processing a content analysis technique was used. O presente trabalho traz uma reflex?o sobre g?nero e fam?lia na regi?o de fronteira amaz?nica Brasil e Peru, especificamente nos munic?pios de Benjamin Constant (Brasil) e Isl?ndia (Peru), por meio das ?mujeres en la venta?. Nessa regi?o fronteiri?a acompanhei a circula??o de minhas interlocutoras - quatro mulheres peruanas residentes no munic?pio de Isl?ndia, durante os anos de 2017 e 2018. Para isso, realizei entrevistas, aplica??o de question?rio e observa??o participante, acompanhei os caminhos percorridos por elas, descrevi a din?mica de seus cotidianos e o processo do comprar e vender, bem como a circula??o de mercadorias. Tentei mapear as fam?lias das interlocutoras a partir dos la?os de consanguinidade e de alian?a, por meio da ?rvore geneal?gica de cada uma delas, bem como pela descri??o das rela??es entre os familiares, como filhos, pais, irm?os, c?njuges e ex-c?njuges. Busquei entender como veem a si mesmas, uma vez que das quatro interlocutoras, tr?s n?o s?o casadas, mant?m a casa por meio da compra e venda de produtos, n?o se auto identificam como comerciantes, mas sim como ?amas de casa?. Apenas aquela que j? criou seus filhos, autodenomina-se como comerciante. Utilizei categorias como g?nero para pensar sobre as rela??es, especialmente no processo de ?venda?, enfatizando a l?gica relacional que perpassa a organiza??o das fam?lias, incluindo sua auto-identifica??o como ?amas de casa?. Al?m disso, trouxe para a discuss?o, a luz dos estudos sobre g?nero e trabalho, categorias como chefia feminina e mulheres mantenedoras.

This work is a reflection on the themes of gender and Family on the amazon frontier region between Peru and Brazil, specifically in the municipalities of Benjamin Constant (Brazil) and Isl?ndia (Peru), through the accounts of ?mujeres en la venta?. In this frontier region l?ve followed the journey of my interlocutors ? four Peruvian women living in the municipality of Isl?ndia, between the years of 2017 and 2018. With that in mind, I?ve conducted interviews, applied questionnaires, observed and followed their ways, describing the dynamic of day-to-day life and the process of buying and selling, as well as the circulation of goods. I?ve tried to map the families of the interlocutors based on blood ties and alliances, resorting to the analysis of their family tree, as well as the description of the relation between family members, including children, parents, siblings, spouses and ex-spouses. I?ve tried to understand how these women see themselves, given that of the four, three are not married and pay the bills though the purchase and sale of products, although they do not believe this act makes them sellers or storekeepers, and instead self-identify as ?ama de casa?, which would translate to something like a housekeeper. The only one who affirms herself as a seller is the one who already raised her children into adulthood. Mulheres atletas tem sido um grande fen?meno na era contempor?nea e apesar de todo preconceito, exclus?o e questionamentos sobre a sua pr?tica esportiva, elas t?m buscado o esporte como forma de trabalho ou de lazer. A mulher atleta amazonense est? inclusa neste processo visto que a regi?o amaz?nica se mostra evidente em assuntos contempor?neos. Desta forma, o objetivo consistiu em investigar a presen?a feminina amazonense em disciplinas esportivas a fim de identificar quais seriam os motivos geradores desta pr?tica, coadunando com o investimento da sua carreia no esporte. Tratou-se de uma pesquisa qualitativa onde utilizamos como instrumento a entrevista semiestruturada que foi respondida por 15 participantes entre atletas ol?mpicas, paraol?mpicas e n?o ol?mpicas, medalhistas em competi??es oficiais e n?o oficiais. O tratamento dos dados coletados esteve embasado pela An?lise de Conte?do de BARDIN (2011), a partir de infer?ncias e interpreta??o dos dados obtidos. Os resultados mostram que a mulher amazonense se destacou como atleta em diversas modalidades devido ao incentivo familiar e financeiro que recebeu durante a sua trajet?ria como esportista. Estes resultados impactam diretamente na forma de avaliar as formas de investimento p?blico e privado para o aumento e incentivo da pr?tica esportiva feminina bem como a sua profissionaliza??o. Logo, foi poss?vel concluir que o enfrentamento de paradigmas em rela??o ? carreira profissional da mulher bem como suas escolhas, trouxeram novas perspectivas de vida atrav?s do esporte, incluindo o olhar da sociedade perante a mulher, o qual tornou-se mais compreensivo apesar de ainda haver o machismo como forma de opress?o.

Female athletes have been a great phenomenon in the postmodern era and despite all prejudice, exclusion and questions about their sports practice, women have sought sports as a form of work, leisure. Thus, the objective was to investigate the female presence in sports disciplines in order to identify what would be the reasons for this practice, matching the investment of their career in sports. This was a qualitative research and we used the semi-structured interview as an instrument, which was answered by 15 participants between Olympic, Paralympic and non-Olympic athletes, medallists in official and unofficial competitions. The treatment of the collected data was based on the BARDIN Content Analysis (2011) from inferences and interpretation of the obtained data. The main results show that the Amazonian woman stood out as an athlete due to the family and financial incentive she received during her career as a sportswoman. Thus, it was possible to conclude that the confrontation of paradigms in relation to women's professional career, as well as their choices, brought new perspectives of life through sport, as well as society's view of women became more comprehensive, although there is still machismo as a form of oppression. ▼ Ao longo do ciclo de vida diferentes factores e vari�veis contribuem para o funcionamento do ser humano. De entre estes destacam-se no presente trabalho a Felicidade, a Intelig�ncia Emocional, a Autoestima, o Bem-estar subjetivo e o Mindfulness que t�m vindo a despertar cada vez mais interesse na comunidade cient�fica, revestindo-se de grande actualidade. Neste sentido, o presente estudo tem como objetivo principal avaliar os n�veis de mindfulness, felicidade, autoestima, intelig�ncia emocional e bem-estar subjetivo numa amostra de adultos que falam portugu�s, e comparar as diferen�as nessas medidas entre g�neros e entre grupos et�rios. A amostra conta com 1567 participantes, dos quais 663 s�o homens (42.2%) e 904 mulheres (57.6%), com idades compreendidas entre os 18 e os 97 anos, com uma m�dia de idades de 43.16 anos (DP=17.77). A amostra foi obtida por conveni�ncia atrav�s da recolha de dados online. Foram utilizados como instrumentos um Question�rio sociodemogr�fico, a vers�o reduzida da Escala Portuguesa de Afeto Positivo e Negativo (PANAS-VRP), o Covilha Happiness Questionnaire (CHQ), a Escala de Intelig�ncia Emocional de Schutte, o Invent�rio de Mindfulness de Freiburg e a Escala de Autoestima de Rosenberg. Neste estudo observaram-se diferen�as estatisticamente significativas entre g�neros nas vari�veis Mindfulness (p=0 .002), sendo os homens que obtiveram valores superiores (M=2.93; DP=0,49) relativamente �s mulheres (M=2.85; DP=0.50); na Intelig�ncia Emocional verificou-se que foram as mulheres que obtiveram resultados mais elevados (M=3.95; DP=0.37) do que os homens (M=3.87; DP=0.38), e estas diferen�as foram estatisticamente significativas (p= 0.000). Na Autoestima tamb�m se notaram diferen�as estatisticamente significativas entre as pontua��es dos homens e das mulheres (p= 0.01), obtendo os homens valores m�dios de 3.22 (DP=0.41) e as mulheres valores m�dios de 3.17 (DP=0.40). Nas vari�veis ?Bem-estar? e ?Felicidade? n�o foram encontradas diferen�as estatisticamente significativas entre os g�neros, respectivamente (p=0.08) e (p=0.35). No Bem-estar, os homens obt�m uma pontua��o m�dia de 2.84 (DP=0.51) e as mulheres de 2.89 (DP=0.48). Por �ltimo, da compara��o dos valores m�dios entre homens e mulheres na Felicidade, observou-se respectivamente uma m�dia de 3.65 (DP=0.47) e uma m�dia de 3.62 (DP=0.47). No que se refere � compara��o das pontua��es obtidas nas vari�veis em estudo em fun��o dos grupos de idade constitu�dos, observaram-se diferen�as estatisticamente significativas nas vari�veis Mindfulness (p=0.000), sendo que o grupo dos 46 aos 65 anos obteve resultados mais altos (M=3.76; DP=0.48); na Autoestima (p=0.000) tamb�m no grupo dos 46 aos 65 anos foram registados valores mais elevados (M=3.33; DP=0.34); na Felicidade (p=0.000) ainda no grupo dos 46 aos 65 anos foram encontrados os resultados mais altos (M=3.76; DP=0.48). A capazes.pt é uma plataforma online que decorre da constituição de uma associação que iniciou oficialmente a sua atividade em 2014 e que tem por objetivo promover a comunicação e a sensibilização da sociedade civil para a igualdade de género, defesa dos direitos das mulheres e empoderamento das mesmas, fomentando a ocupação igualitária das mulheres no espaço público. Com esta reflexão pretende-se analisar os atributos desta plataforma online, considerando as suas características associadas às questões de forma e às questões de conteúdo, assumindo o propósito de explicar o sucesso deste espaço de afirmação do feminismo ou dos feminismos, inevitavelmente integrado no atual contexto político e social global que nesta área em particular tem obtido contributos assinaláveis. Capazes é um projeto em maturação com um fim ativista bem definido que diariamente se justifica a si próprio, através de ferramentas eficazes que dispõe para comunicar, principalmente pela interatividade que consegue gerar. A plataforma capazes.pt é pertinente pois traduz a necessidade evidente de colocar no debate público questões fundamentais para a sociedade portuguesa no geral e para as mulheres em particular. Esta reflexão sobre o feminismo enquanto causa global não faria sentido sem ser enquadrada na história do feminismo em Portugal e nas diversas correntes que o feminismo ou os feminismos têm assumido criticamente pondo em causa a matriz normativa patriarcal vigente e que resultam da intersecção e interligação de temas como sexualidade, género, classe social, etnicidade, etnocentrismo, combinando diferentes perspetivas e somando múltiplos contributos.

Capazes.pt is an online platform that stems from the establishment of an association that officially initiated its activity in 2014 and aims to promote the comunication and awareness of civil society for Gender Equality, defence of the rights of and empowerment of women, fostering the egalitarian occupation of women in public space. With this reflection it is intended to analyze the attributes of this online platform, considering its characteristics associated with issues of form and content issues, assuming the purpose of explaining the success of this space of affirmation of feminism or of Feminisms, inevitably integrated into the current global political and social context that in this particular area has obtained significant contributions. The Capazes is a project in maturation with a well defined activist end that daily justifies itself, through effective tools that it provides to communicate, mainly by the interactivity it manages to generate. The capazes.pt platform is pertinent because it translates the obvious need to put in the public debate fundamental issues for Portuguese society in general and for women in particular. This reflection on feminism as a global cause would not make sense without being framed in the history of feminism in Portugal and in the various streams that feminism or feminisms have critically undertaken by calling into question the patriarchal normative matrix…

Les aciers renforcés par une dispersion d’oxydes nanométriques (ODS : Oxide Dispersion Strengthened) sont connus pour leur bonne tenue en fluage à haute température et pour leur bonne résistance au gonflement sous irradiation. Ils sont envisagés comme matériaux potentiels pour le gainage combustible des réacteurs de quatrième génération (Réacteur à Neutrons Rapides refroidis au Sodium). Les aciers ferritiques ODS, généralement élaborés par filage à chaud, possèdent une microstructure complexe (texture morphologique et cristallographique, fine précipitation, forte densité de dislocations, différentes tailles de grains) rendant la compréhension de la relation entre la microstructure et les propriétés mécaniques délicate. Le travail de cette thèse a consisté à caractériser et à modéliser l’effet des différents composants de la microstructure sur le comportement mécanique d’aciers ferritiques Fe-14Cr ODS, ainsi que d’affiner la compréhension de leurs mécanismes de déformation. Pour cela, des matériaux modèles ont été élaborés par compaction isostatique à chaud puis caractérisés, dans lesquels les différents paramètres microstructuraux ont été variés de manière contrôlée. Leur microstructure a été déterminée à l’aide de diverses techniques de caractérisation avancées (MEB-EBSD, MET, DXPA, microsonde de Castaing, …). Ces différentes nuances ont été testées en traction sur une large gamme de température et en fluage à 650°C et 700°C. Les résultats ont mis en évidence l’effet de la taille et la fraction des oxydes, de la structure de grains, et de la présence du Titane, et ont servi de base pour proposer une modélisation. Des essais de déformation in situ au MET ainsi que des essais de traction à chaud avec mesure des champs de déformation locaux ont permis de mettre en évidence une transition entre mouvement saccadé de dislocations à basse température, et mécanismes de déformation à chaud, intragranulaires (vieillissement dynamique, mouvement de dislocations continu) et intergranulaires. A haute température, un fort endommagement au niveau des joints de grains est observé.

Oxide dispersion strengthened (ODS) ferritic steels are known for their good resistance both to high temperature creep and to swelling under irradiation. They are considered as potential materials for fuel cladding for the next generation of nuclear reactors (Sodium-cooled Fast Reactor). These materials, usually processed by hot extrusion, exhibit a complex microstructure (crystallographic and grain texture, nanometer precipitation, high dislocation density, poly-dispersed grain size), making it a real challenge to establish the microstructure / properties relationships. This thesis has aimed at characterizing and modeling the effect of the different components of the microstructure on the mechanical properties of ferritic Fe-14Cr ODS steels, as well as to improve the understanding of their deformation mechanisms.
