▼ Esse estudo buscou a compreensão da percepção de um lugar de trabalho e as experiências que ocorrem a partir do e com o entorno físico. As vivencias ocorrem em um determinado espaço e portanto o entorno físico é considerado a matriz de acontecimentos sociais (Fischer n.d.) cujo protagonista é o indivíduo com toda a sua história. O entorno tem vários elementos constituintes que podem ser divididos em ambiente social (pessoas e organizações), ambiente natural (fauna, flora e demais elementos) e ambiente construído (construções, aparatos técnicos e eletroeletrônicos). Poderíamos ir longe nesta lista, mas este estudo procurou dar foco na relação pessoa-natureza enquanto dimensão do trabalho. Adotou-se a concepção de natureza existente num fragmento florestal urbano onde a instituição do trabalho está sediada. O objetivo geral do estudo foi compreender a percepção ambiental de trabalhadores sobre seu ambiente de trabalho localizado num fragmento florestal urbano de Manaus-Am. A pesquisa realizada possui caráter qualitativo, exploratório e descritivo, incorporando a abordagem Multimétodos (Gunther, Elali & Pinheiro, 2008). As entrevistas seguiram um roteiro semiestruturado incluindo perguntas abertas e uma escala de conexão com a natureza. Participaram da pesquisa 36 servidores (20 F; 16 M) que executavam suas atividades de trabalho no Campus I do INPA inserido em um fragmento florestal urbano e incluído na APA UFAM, como área de proteção ambiental da cidade de Manaus. Os servidores tinham entre 31 e 62 anos de idade e possuíam tempo de trabalho na instituição entre 4 e 35 anos. A análise dos dados teve tratamento qualitativo, mediante Análise de Conteúdo para análise dos dados emergentes da entrevista com posterior quantificação das categorias a partir da estatística descritiva. Para a escala de conexão com a natureza realizou-se estatística descritiva. Constatou-se que os sentimentos associados ao lugar de trabalho direcionam-se aspectos sociais e ambientais referentes a natureza. A natureza apresentou-se como aspecto de avaliação positiva e de agradabilidade e os aspectos organizacionais e trabalhistas como fator de desagrado. As sensações vivenciadas no lugar de trabalho abarcam elementos estéticos e físicos bem como conectivos com a natureza mas também revelou-se sensações indiferenciadas. Atrelada as vivências pessoais para a percepção desse lugar de trabalho com a presença da natureza soma-se aspectos intersubjetivos compartilhados socialmente pela atribuição positiva a esse lugar de trabalho como locus de natureza preservada. O trabalho e a convivência com a natureza possibilitam uma relação de respeito e a ausência dessa natureza traria implicações para o bem-estar desses servidores. A natureza configura-se de forma real e simbólica e ainda que possua as características de ambientes restauradores os servidores também optam por lugares de lazer e descanso no qual não há a presença de elementos naturais. ▼ O avanço das ações de desenvolvimento vem colocando desafios à gestão de recursos; as diferentes particularidades nos tipos de recursos disponíveis para uso pelas organizações (na área de administração de empresas), seja por localização geográfica, clima, relevo e/ou outras especificidades locais, como por exemplo, recursos naturais, fogem aos padrões impostos pelas abordagens teóricas estratégicas dominantes, atualmente, nas ciências sociais. No caso do megabioma Amazônico, devido à grandeza patrimonial e suas especificidades locais, há recursos naturais que são únicos e inimitáveis, seja de maneira individual seja pelo conjunto do megabioma, apesar do contexto de pobreza da região. Na medida em que se pressiona para o uso desses recursos, seja pelos indivíduos, seja pelas organizações, podem-se gerar diferentes tipos de conflitos, até porque o uso dos recursos naturais e os conflitos socioambientais são cenários de repercussões para a sociedade, devido às mudanças que promovem em termos ecológicos e das propostas de desenvolvimento social. Assim existem recursos naturais, principalmente, os renováveis disponíveis para uso, que exige novos conhecimentos teóricos e práticos, tanto para acadêmicos como para os gestores atuais. Nesse contexto, são necessárias as preocupações dos cidadãos, instituições e governos, necessitando, no entanto, de um conhecimento adequado à natureza, suas potencialidades e dimensões, no tocante ao uso no presente e garantia para as gerações futuras dos recursos necessários e sua sobrevivência com qualidade de vida, ou seja, a sustentabilidade nesse sentido vem ao encontro de um manejo ambientalmente correto (sustentável) socialmente justo e economicamente rentável, considerando como pilares do Desenvolvimento Sustentável as dimensões Sociais, ambiental e Econômica, dimensões que nortearam a presente pesquisa. Nesse quesito de conhecer como esse processo poderia ocorrer, na Amazônia, foi tirado proveito da teoria Path Dependence que possibilita organizar de forma metodológica e teórica a trajetória e os conhecimentos necessários para que se obtenha uma produção sustentável, com satisfação de mercado aliados a oportunidade de negócio para as comunidades locais. ▼ The research question posed in this study asks what qualities, characteristics and cultural significance need to be embodied within an urban environment that make the area worthy of conservation-oriented protection through laws and policies. The research question was explored through an assessment of the townscape of Vredehoek, an informally(1) proposed conservation area in Cape Town where there is a relatively high concentration of Art Deco buildings. The selection of Vredehoek as a laboratory within which to ask this question is due to the presence of contested opinions amongst various stakeholders and heritage-claimants about the cultural significance embodied within the built fabric of this place. This study aimed to identify what elements of the built environment of Vredehoek are of special interest, what qualities and characteristics these elements of special interest embody, to understand and articulate the values that inform these qualities, and to identify to whom these elements are valuable and why. Criteria were established with which to determine whether the identified qualities and values are special enough that when synthesised, the resultant significance of the place warrants protection through heritage area designation. The criteria developed with which to assess and evaluate proposed urban conservation areas, including Vredehoek, require that such environments need to embody cultural significance and characteristics informed by an urban history reflected in its authentic manifestations developed over time through continuity of use with a high townscape quality established primarily through the aesthetic unity of its component parts. Through historical research, the studying, mapping and analysis of the area's urban morphology, built environment and natural landscape, and the identification and evaluation of values held by heritage-claimants and views held by those critical of Vredehoek's proposed designation, evidence regarding the conservation-worthiness of Vredehoek has been assembled and assessed within the framework of criteria developed to evaluate heritage area designation. It has been found that the environment of Vredehoek does not embody high townscape quality nor does a strong aesthetic unity of its components exist. Furthermore, the area is not a richly layered environment reflecting continuity of use, the existence of cultural significance within the place is limited to a relatively small part of the townscape - a collection of Art Deco buildings demonstrating a moderate degree of architectural merit. Thus the environment of Vredehoek does not meet the criteria required for heritage area conservation. _________________________ (1) By "informally", I mean that this proposal is made by City of Cape Town heritage management officials only without any public or expert consultation or confirmation from the City of Cape Town itself. ▼ This dissertation examines heritage as a social construct by way of critically accessing the precursors, proponents and processes of the Tulbagh restoration. This research is focused on understanding the reasons why and how, after the earthquake of 1969, Church Street was reinstated to its 'historic' 18/19th century appearance. This reconstructive restoration is unpacked within its South African socio-political, 20th-century situation to examine the motivations of the proponents behind the restoration as well as their conservation philosophies that underpinned the stylistic reconstruction of Tulbagh back to what was regarded as its Cape Dutch 'best'. The study comprises of an examination of both the theoretical development and practical application of reconstructions. Research traces the development of conservation in South Africa, first under the Union government and then under the Afrikaner Nationalist government to understand how Afrikaner Nationalism was superseded by the creation of a white South African identity. Pierre Nora's theories around memory and identity are explored and applied in order to contextualise the Tulbagh case study in a theoretical framework to highlight similarities and differences. The proponents of the Tulbagh restoration consisted of a wide and varied selection of the South African conservation fraternity and included the National Society, the Cape Institute of Architects, historian Dr Mary Cook, the Simon van der Stel Foundation, Anton Rupert and his Historic Homes Company, Gawie and Gwen Fagan and Dr Hans Fransen, as well as the National Monuments Commission/Council. These same role players came together in the decade before the earthquake to formalise their association, conservation resolve and philosophies. The findings of the study suggest that although united with a common vision, philosophy and determination, these conservation advocates all had their own agenda and differing motivations for their involvement in Tulbagh's restoration. Motivations ranged from straightforward conservation concern and a response to the threat of cultural devastation on one hand to ideological nation-building ideals and Afrikaner nationalism on the other. Although politics impacted early on and all three levels of government funded the bulk of the restoration costs, the diversity of the proponents suggests that this project was more complex than being motivated primarily by nationalism. ▼ This study is specifically concerned with the impact of cultural tourism on the valorisation of two African fortifications; Castelo São Jorge da Mina (Elmina Castle) in Elmina, Ghana and Casteel de Goede Hoop (Castle of Good Hope) in Cape Town, South Africa. The commodification of national and world heritage, primarily within the context of cultural tourism, is the process by which tangible and intangible heritage are transformed into cultural commodities to be bought, sold and profited from in the heritage and tourism industry. The perception, however, that these commodified heritage sites are contaminated, and less authentic, is based on an outmoded discourse. The South African government has placed a fair amount of focus on redressing highly emotive colonial or dissonant heritage sites with the intent of correcting misinterpreted Eurocentric histories or present non-represented pre-colonial history. The study is structured around addressing the issue of commodification and its impact on the understanding and interpretation of heritage both as an emotive commodity and as a means of providing economic benefit to a community. The literature review locates the research in Marx's theories on commodities together with Urry's tourist gaze. It furthermore includes an analysis on valorisation, with the focus on associative value, in the context of national and world heritage. Fortifications as fortified military architecture in an African context are considered; as is the European influence on African culture and fortifications as colonial structures. Elmina Castle, as a much-researched heritage site, is explored in detail. It includes a legislative analysis; the perspectives and interpretations of the two largest stakeholders groups, the Akan-speaking Fanti population and the African American Diaspora tourists is key to the analysis of the impact of commodification. A detailed history of Europeans on the Gold Coast, the development of Elmina Castle and the impact of trans-Atlantic slavery on the consumption of heritage is studied. The commodification of the Castle of Good Hope is written within the context of the prevailing South African heritage discourse. Much has been written on the commodification of Elmina Castle, while very little has been said about the Castle of Good Hope as a commodity. The prevailing authorised commodification of the Castle of Good Hope necessitated the analysis and comparison of the Castle with the selected comparative case and the study draws comparisons between the powerful emotive significance and contestations attached to Elmina and the contrast that this poses to the Castle of God Hope as a place of heritage significance despite the fact that it has been seen to symbolise the introduction of repressive European influence and control in South Africa. The research supports the notion that cultural tourism and events have impacted on the valorisation of cultural heritage and, in particular, the associative and emotive values. The purpose of the theme proposed is to consider matters concerning the material legal protection of the environment, and the instruments available in the Brazilian law intended to assure the effectiveness, celerity and instrumentality of the collective jurisdictional proceeding. This work will be based on the Federal Constitution of 1988 and Democratic State of Law constituted thereby. In the doctrine, the environment is conceived from different angles. Some people, grounded on the Cartesianism, understand it only as a compound of biotic and abiotic elements. Others, more righteously, and supported by the holistic or systemic thought, add elements built by humans to those. Regarding the origins and effects of environment degradation, it is interesting to remark that they resulted from multiple and extremely complex structural causes, contributing to this degenerative process, among other factors, the religious doctrine, politics, culture and economy. To face the ecological environmental damages, the Constitution in force, under clear influence of international regulations, grants to the environment the status of fundamental diffuse rights and, under its preservationist policy, emphasizes the principles of prevention and precaution, in order to avoid risks and concrete, current and imminent dangers, such as those related to which there are still some doubts or scientific uncertainties about their likely harmfull effects. Considering this, the urgency actions preventive and precautionary stands out as qualified means to the obtainment of preventive and potential jurisdictional protections, by means of legal and executive techniques lato sensu, to produce concrete, useful and fairer effects in the phenomenal world, therefore, dignifying the human being

O tema proposto tem por finalidade trazer à lume considerações atinentes à tutela jurídica material do meio ambiente e aos instrumentos disponibilizados pelo direito brasileiro com o escopo de garantir a efetividade, celeridade e instrumentalidade do processo jurisdicional coletivo. Nesta empreitada, ter-se-á como bússola a Constituição da República de 1988 e o Estado Democrático de Direito por ela constituído. Na doutrina, o meio ambiente é concebido sob diferentes enfoques. Alguns, arraigados ao cartesianismo, compreendem-no tão somente como um composto de elementos bióticos e abióticos. Outros, mais acertadamente, com espeque no pensamento holístico ou sistêmico, acrescem àqueles elementos, os construídos pelo ser humano. Предмет докторске дисертације представља анализу прописа Европске уније, прописа међународног карактера који се такође сматрају саставним делом европског правног оквира и прописа Републике Србије у области енергетике и заштите животне средине. Наведеној анализи се приступило како би се утврдио значај међусобног усклађивања и прожимања поменутих прописа и дао одговор на питање да ли ће се путем имплементације одговарајућих прописа постићи то да се и у Републици Србији потребе за енергијом задовољавају на начин да се постојећи извори енергије рационалније троше, уз постепено уступање места обновљивим изворима енергије, а све у циљу да се наведеним активностима што мање загађује околина у којој живимо. Приликом израде дисертације коришћен је већи број различитих метода научног истраживања и то: историјскоправни, хипотетичко-дедуктивни, позитивноправни, упоредноправни, анализа садржаја и статистички. На основу коришћене литературе, односно упоређивања прописа Републике Србије са регулативом Европске уније, потврђене су хипотезе од којих се у истраживачком раду пошло, односно дошло се до закључка да норме из области заштите животне средине врше утицај на област енергетике и обрнуто, те да је приликом поступања и доношења одлука које задиру у материју једне од две наведене области истраживања неопходно консултовати и прописе из друге области. При том, важно је константно усаглашавање поменутих прописа на свим нивоима, посебно из разлога што је уочена повезаност између употребе енергије, обављања енергетских делатности и више или мање неповољног дејста које ове активности изазивају, а што на дужи рок може бити веома штетно.

▼ As implicações espaciais da instalação de grandes projetos na Amazônia, como estradas, usinas hidrelétricas e indústrias de mineração, têm sido objeto de várias frentes de análise em Geografia no intuito de debater a respeito do papel transformador desses empreendimentos em contextos urbanos particulares. A partir de 2010, quando é liberada a licença de instalação da usina hidrelétrica de Belo Monte, percebe-se uma dinâmica social diferenciada, sobretudo marcada pela produção de novas formas espaciais e novas relações que envolvem a cidade e a rede urbana. Considerando essa realidade, a presente pesquisa resolveu articular o processo de construção da usina de Belo Monte ao tema das cidades médias, tendo como como base a seguinte questão: em que medida as transformações espaciais desencadeadas a partir da instalação da usina hidrelétrica de Belo Monte produzem uma reestruturação da cidade e uma reestruturação urbana? A área efetiva de estudos abrange, portanto, duas escalas de análise articuladas: a cidade de Altamira-PA, situada às margens do rio Xingu, a 54 km² de distância da área de construção da usina de Belo Monte, e a Região de Influência de Altamira (RIA). Esta última é baseada em dois estudos complementares do IBGE (REGIC de 2007 e Divisão Urbano-regional, de 2013) e corresponde aos centros urbanos situados no interfluxo entre o rio Xingu (Vitória do Xingu, Senador José Porfírio e Porto de Moz) e a rodovia Transamazônica (Altamira, Anapu, Pacajá, Medicilândia Uruará e Brasil Novo). No que se refere a Altamira, parte-se da ideia de que esta cidade atua como uma cidade média, uma vez que funciona como uma intermediadora entre as grandes cidades e os centros locais, permitindo-se adentrar aos autores que trabalham nesse campo de estudo. A pesquisa em questão possui como objetivo geral analisar os eventos resultantes da instalação da usina hidrelétrica de Belo Monte em Altamira-PA e em sua região de influência (RIA), de modo a verificar em que medida produzem a reestruturação da cidade e a reestruturação urbana. Com a utilização do método dialético, pretende-se fazer a leitura do movimento, da contínua transformação, do perpétuo vir-a-ser, enfatizando-se a lei da transformação da quantidade em qualidade. Por essa perspectiva, os dados sobre a cidade (o crescimento populacional, a expansão territorial, a criação novos loteamentos e as transformações na paisagem) e os dados regionais (a intensidade das interações espaciais, os atendimentos de saúde, as diferenças do PIB municipal, as características das finanças públicas, a distribuição das instituições financeiras e as mudanças no quadro empresarial) são devidamente analisados e articulados em um modelo explicativo denominado de “nexos de re-estruturação da cidade e da rede urbana”, que situa os acontecimentos, práticas e processos espaciais de acordo com um eixo de transformação estrutural (da estruturação à reestruturação) e com a escala de análise (da cidade e da rede urbana). ▼ The Brazilian Amazon has been undergoing a process of population growth and urbanization in recent decades. Its urban population increased from 42% to 71% between 1960 and 2010, and in the last decade, its overall population grew around 21%. Such rises bring important consequences not only economically, but also in environmental terms, especially considering that the largest remaining rainforest in the world is located within this region. Nevertheless, this scenario is still poorly addressed by literature. Bearing this in mind, this thesis aims to examine some economic and environmental aspects related to this context, and is specifically divided into three essays. Firstly, a spatial econometric approach is implemented, based on the framework of spatial economics models, in order to investigate whether this process of urbanization has been generating local economic growth and development. In the second essay, aiming to measure the environmental impacts of such population growth and urbanization, an Interregional Input-Output model is built, for the year of 2004, merging data regarding the productive structure and land use transition in the Brazilian Amazon. Specifically, this method allows the measurement of how much local deforestation may be attributed to the consumption of goods and services demanded by households living within the region, considering all direct and indirect production of inputs and outputs in every region of Brazil. Moreover, in order to capture the effects of local urbanization, special focus is given to the demands of the families living within the five Brazilian Amazon metropolitan regions. Finally, in the third essay, given that population growth and urbanization processes are directly related to migration flows, an econometric model was implemented in order to investigate the determinants of immigration and emigration flows between the Brazilian Amazon and the rest of Brazil. This estimation allowed the comparison of the reasons that have been driving the exit and the entry of individuals in the region. Such methodology makes use of estimators which take into account econometric problems commonly attributed by literature to the modeling of migration flows, such as the sample selection issue regarding the potential differences in skills between migrants and non-migrants. As main results, we find evidence that these local processes of urbanization and population growth have been causing a \"trade -offïn the region: on the one hand, such processes seem to be driving local economic growth and development, but on the other, they also tend to increase regional deforestation. Furthermore, we find evidence that although the immigration and emigration flows of the Brazilian Amazon have been currently well-balanced, local vegetative growth still has been fueling such population growth and urbanization. ▼ Physical inactivity and disconnection from natural environments threatens human health. However, research has demonstrated that natural environments potentially support health-enhancing physical activity which could confer greater physical and mental health benefits than physical activity in other types of environment. This thesis approached the study of physical activity in natural environments through three related pieces of research. Firstly, an experimental study was carried out to explore how the presence of litter in beach environments affected psychophysiological responses to exercise. Responses to exercise did not differ in littered and clean conditions but there was evidence that order effects influenced findings. Visual attention to the two scenes differed, but did not mediate differences in psychophysiological responses. Secondly, analysis of a national dataset was undertaken to explore the form and quantity of physical activity conducted within natural environments in England. A series of linear regressions revealed that higher-intensity physical activities occurred in countryside environments, but more total energy expenditure occurred in coastal environments. Thirdly, a quantitative content analysis of brochures which promote recreational walking in natural environments was conducted which investigated their use of persuasive behavioural messages. These brochures omitted behavioural techniques which may be effective at motivating inactive individuals to walk. Extending this, an online survey tested whether improving brochure content heightened intentions to walk in natural environments. By designing content based on the theory of planned behaviour, the intentions of inactive individuals to undertake walking in natural environments were increased. The findings from this thesis demonstrate that the protection of natural environments is vital for preserving and promoting active recreation and could contribute to population-level increases in physical activity with theory-based promotion in the future.

Introdução: Assentamentos rurais são recorrentes arranjos sociais em expansão na Região Amazônica, que geram perturbações no ambiente natural e na respectiva ecologia de mosquitos vetores envolvidos na transmissão de malária. Objetivos: Elaborar revisão das espécies do gênero Anopheles que foram registradas na Região Amazônica. Para a pesquisa quantitativa, estabelecer potenciais fatores dos ambientes e das características das águas de diversos habitats larvais que possam estar associadas com a presença de espécies de anofelíneos, através de coletas em criadouros de diferentes graus de perturbação ambiental. Métodos: para a revisão das espécies que foram registradas na Amazônia, foram empregados termos de busca, utilizando sete bases bibliográficas de referência. Para os estudos em campo, foram realizadas capturas de larvas juntamente com estimação e mensuração de algumas condições dos habitats larvais, para comparação dos parâmetros analisados entre ambientes naturais e artificiais. Resultados: a revisão mostrou maior quantidade de artigos que notificaram a ocorrência do subgênero Nyssorhynchus, seguido pelos subgêneros: Anopheles, Stethomyia, Kerteszia e Lophopodomyia. O Anopheles darlingi se mostrou a espécie com maior ocorrência nos artigos levantados, muito pelo seu caráter epidemiológico. Importantes vetores auxiliares pertencentes ao subgênero 6 Nyssorhynchus também foram registrados em grande quantidade. Os resultados das análises conduzidas com os dados das capturas em campo demonstraram que as forças de transformação do ambiente natural favorecem o desenvolvimento de habitats larvais de espécies do subgênero Nyssorhynchus, incluindo o An. darlingi, além de um importante vetor secundário, o An. triannulatus. Discussão e Conclusão: projetos de assentamentos na Amazônia brasileira registram índices significativos de casos de malária, devido à ocupação de áreas naturais pelo homem. Este estudo mostrou que o subgênero Nyssorhynchus possui amplo registro na literatura de inquéritos entomológicos do gênero na floresta tropical equatorial, indicando que o agrupamento pode ser considerado endêmico às fronteiras de transformação na região, tendo assim importante papel na manutenção da transmissão da malária. Os estudos de campo apresentaram evidências de que formação de habitats artificiais favorecem formas iniciais de vida dos mosquitos com histórico vetorial para a região. Esses habitats larvais podem ser respostas ao uso do solo e das consequentes alterações provocadas no ambiente natural pelas atividades humanas. As modificações do ambiente natural selecionam e propiciam a formação de habitats para as espécies do Nyssorhynchus. Este agrupamento taxonômico engloba espécies que são consideradas vetores para a malária na região Neotropical.

Entendemos que o sentido da Geografia no currículo do ensino básico é a sua potencialidade para a formação de cidadãos críticos, autônomos e conscientes para atuarem em sociedade. A Geografia escolar pode contribuir para essa formação ao trabalhar, no ensino, as temáticas físico-naturais do espaço geográfico, todavia esta contribuição está vinculada à forma como o ensino é encaminhado. Esta forma se relaciona, além de outros fatores, à formação teórico-metodológica do docente que, bem fundamentada, lhe possibilita desenvolver o processo de ensino e aprendizagem a partir da articulação entre objetivos, conteúdos e métodos. Para refletir sobre esta questão, buscamos analisar a relação existente entre a concepção de professores de Geografia acerca dos conceitos de natureza e ambiente e o ensino realizado por eles sobre as temáticas físico-naturais do espaço geográfico nas Redes Municipal e Estadual de Educação de Goiânia-Goiás nos amparando nos conhecimentos didáticos do conteúdo. Assim, nesta tese tivemos a intenção de verificar se os docentes que atuam nestas redes, ao ensinarem os conteúdos relevo, rochas e solos na Geografia escolar, ratificam a separação entre os aspectos físicos e sociais instituída na dicotomia entre a Geografia Física e a Geografia Humana. Se assim o fazem, eles reforçam uma concepção clássica e tradicional de Geografia. Analisamos as relações que os professores estabelecem entre a sua formação inicial e a atuação docente mediante a realização de entrevistas semiestruturadas. Discutimos, então, os conhecimentos docentes considerando a relação entre a Geografia acadêmica e a Geografia escolar e analisamos os materiais pedagógico-didáticos utilizados como subsídios para o ensino dessa temática no Ensino Fundamental, como os PCNs, as Diretrizes Curriculares Municipal e Estadual e os livros didáticos do 6º ano aprovados pelo PNLD/2008. Com base nas atividades realizadas em um ciclo de oficinas, no qual foram empregadas diferentes metodologias, e nos resultados das entrevistas focais, discutimos os conhecimentos didáticos do conteúdo mobilizados pelos professores quando abordam os temas relevo, rochas e solos no ensino de Geografia. Diante dos resultados alcançados com a realização das oficinas e no sentido de revalorizar o ensino acerca das temáticas físico-naturais do espaço, apresentamos os conceitos de natureza e ambiente como eixos estruturadores na Geografia escolar. Discutimos, então, o ensino das temáticas físico-naturais do espaço na Geografia escolar como instrumento para favorecer a formação cidadã.

▼ O estudo foi realizado na bacia hidrográfica do rio Amazonas, abrangendo os estados do Amazonas, Roraima, Pará e Rondônia com o objetivo de classificar os tipos de água dos rios respeitando suas características naturais, tendo como referência a classe 2 da Resolução CONAMA nº 357/2005. Foram realizadas 289 coletas, sendo 100 ao longo do rio principal ( Amazonas ), com estações a montante e a jusante das principais cidades e 189 em tributários, seguindo o período de águas altas/cheia e águas baixas/estiagem, no período de março de 2009 a julho de 2012. As técnicas usadas foram potenciometria, condutometria, espectofotometria no visível, espectofotometria de massa, Plasma acoplado por indução (ICP) e espectroscopia de absorção atômica (A.A). As características físicas e químicas das águas dos rios são bastante diversificadas, o pH varia de ácido (3,6) a alcalino (7,56), o oxigênio dissolvido oscila entre 1,41 mg/L (pouco oxigenada) a 10,00 mg/L (bem oxigenada). No período chuvoso as águas são mais acidificadas, mais oxigenadas e com valores mais elevados de turbidez, material em suspensão e sílica. As águas da bacia hidrográfica do rio Amazonas são bicabornatadase os de origem andina (calha principal do rio Amazonas) são cálcicas. Os dados foram agrupados com auxílio da estatística descritiva do R e estabelecidas as faixas dos limites naturais dos tipos de água, a princípio, os padrões regionais. Para avaliar se existem diferenças de tipos de água dentro da própria bacia Amazônica, foi utilizada a análise de agrupamento (AHC), ficando evidenciada a existência de três regiões: a) uma mais a oeste recebendo influência das regiões Andina e pré-Andina, rios com maiores valores de condutividade elétrica (40,00 80,00 μS/cm), o pH variando de pouco ácido a alcalino (valores entre 6,5 e 7,6) ex. rio Amazonas e alguns tributários da margem direita; b) uma ao Norte, influenciada pelo Escudo das Guianas, com águas entre ácidas e ligeiramente ácidas (pH entre 4,6 e 6,5), pouco mineralizadas, com condutividade <40,00 μS/cm, ex. os tributários da margem esquerda; e c) uma terceira região que está sob influência do Escudo Brasileiro, indo de águas ligeiramente ácidas a neutras (pH entre 6,0 e 7,0), apresentando também baixas cargas iônicas com condutividade <40,0 μS/cm, ex. tributários da margem direita do baixo Amazonas, como o Tapajós e o Xingu. Para estimar os limites naturais de algumas variáveis consideradas críticas, como o pH e oxigênio dissolvido (OD), foram utilizados a mediana e o quartil (percentil, quartil e decil), obtendo-se os seguintes resultados para cada região: nos rios de origem Andina ou pré-Andina a faixa de pH foi 6,03-7,23 e OD 2,12-6,04 mg/L; já os rios originários no Escudo Brasileiro tiveram o pH na faixa de 6,16 a 6,94 e o OD entre 6,27 e 9,63 mg/L; e os rios que se originam no Escudo das Guianas o pH ficou entre 4,66 e 6,66, estando o OD entre 2,05 e 7,79 mg/L. O que se propõe nesse estudo é mostrar como se deu o processo de produção do espaço urbano de Boa Vista, capital do estado de Roraima, visto como produto histórico e social em três momentos de sua formação sócioespacial: inicialmente, quando estava sob a jurisdição do estado do Amazonas, entre 1890 e 1943; num segundo momento, quando da criação do Território Federal do Rio Branco, em 1943 e a implantação do plano urbanístico da cidade em 1944, finalmente, a partir da transformação do Território Federal de Roraima em Estado, em 1988. As premissas desse estudo serão definidas a partir da leitura dos sistemas de objetos e de ações incorporadas pelos agentes promotores do espaço urbano, como o gestor público federal, estadual e municipal, especulares fundiários e instituições privadas entre outros, dentro de uma perspectiva espaço-temporal. Neste quadro complexo é que se pretende abrir as discussões sobre o espaço intra-urbano da capital roraimense, que nos relatos, documentos e estudos dão conta da inserção de sucessivas modernidades que retratam a abrangência de sua expressão local como centro polarizador de equipamentos e serviços urbanos no Estado.Nesta perspectiva, entendemos que a produção do espaço urbanos de Boa Vista aumentou a diferenciação do espaço, propiciando a formação de territórios diferenciados.

What is proposed in this work is to show the process of the production of urban space of Boa Vista, capital of the state of Roraima, seen as a historic and social product in three moments of its socio-spatial formation: initially, when it was under the jurisdiction of the state of Amazonas, between 1890 and 1943; in a second moment, when the Federal Territory of Rio Branco was created, in 1943 when the urban plan of the city was made, in 1944, and, finally, after the transformation of the Federal Territory of Roraima into a State, in 1988. The premises of this work will be defined from the reading of the systems of objects and actions embodied by the agents who promoted the urban space, such as the federal, state and municipal, land speculators and private institutions, among others, within a space-temporal perspective. Within this complex frame one intends to open discussions about the intra-urban space of the capital of Roraima, which, in accounts, documents and studies narrate the insertion of successive modernities that depict the amplitude of its local expression as a polarizing center of urban goods and services in the State. In this perspective, we understand that the production of the urban space of Boa Vista increased the differentiation of space, favoring, thus, the formation of differentiated territories.
