O presente trabalho analisa a morfologia e a dinâmica do Centro Principal da cidade de João Pessoa, bem como suas expressões de centralidade. Este centro destaca-se na estrutura intra-urbana por ser o lugar de maior concentração das atividades terciárias, de melhor acessibilidade e de maior simbologia. Articula-se com todas as outras partes da estrutura intra-urbana através dos seus tentáculos e um conjunto de instrumentos que possibilitam o fluxo de pessoas, mercadorias e informações. Sua centralidade é desvelada por aquilo que está em movimento, diante disto, possui diversas expressões que em qualidade e quantidade materializam uma estrutura morfo-funcional que lhe é própria e inerente ao processo de (re) estruturação da cidade de João Pessoa. Ao circunscrever o núcleo primaz da cidade este centro possui uma centralidade mnemônica, igualmente, múltipla, complexa e cambiante. Para compreender este centro foi necessário percorrer pelas teorias ocidentais de produção do espaço urbano que versam sobre a temática da reestruturação urbana e lugares centrais, adotamos uma diversidade de procedimentos metodológicos com o intuito de responder como dentro do modelo de cidade policêntrica e dispersa um lugar central recebe a adjetivação de principal.

The present study analyse the morphology and the dynamics of the main center of the city of João Pessoa, as well as the expressions of its centrality. This center stands out in intraurban structure as the place of higher concentration of tertiary activities, of better accessibility and greater symbolism. Articulates itself with all the other parts of intra-urban structure through its tentacles and set of tools that enable the flow of people, goods and information. Its centrality is revealed for what is in movement, before it, has various expressions that both quality and quantity materialized a morpho-functional structure that is its own and inherent to the process of (re) structuring of the city of João Pessoa. To limit the primate nucleus of the city this center acquired a mnemonic centrality, equally, multiple, complex and changing. To comprehend this center was necessary to go through the Western theories of production of urban space that deal with the issue of urban restructuring and central places, we adopt a variety of methodological procedures in order to respond as within the model of polycentric city and dispersed a central place to receive the name of principal.

▼ The issue of offenders’ re-integration has become an important topic to the Department of Correctional Services in South Africa due to high number of incarcerated individuals who need to return back into the society as law abiding citizens. Around the world, scholars have researched about offenders’re- integration. However, they tend to focus on adult ex-offenders, neglecting young adult male ex-offenders’ experiences of the family re-entry process. Scholars neglected that the consequences of being incarcerated at a young age (age 19-34) puts young people at overwhelming risks of future incarceration, unemployment, poor physical and mental health. Therefore, this study focused on seven young adult male ex-offenders in Sekhukhune district, aged between 24 and 34 years who returned to their families after incarceration. Participants were selected using purposive sampling and volunteer self-selection sampling, through the assistance of Tswelopele Ex-Offenders Forums in Sekhukhune area. This study explored, described and interpreted the meaning, benefits, challenges and coping strategies of the young adult males in regard to their family re-entry processes. This goal was achieved by adopting the interpretive phenomenological analysis (IPA) research design and conducting individual semi-structured interviews with the young adult ex-offenders. The IPA data analysis guidelines were followed to analyse data and the Person-environment (P-E) fit theory grounded this analysis as the emerging themes were further interpreted in light of the assumptions of this theory. The findings show that the process of family re-entry was an emotional rollercoaster for the young men concerning moving forward post their incarceration. They specifically experienced different moments of ambivalence, which was due to reuniting with family members on the one hand, but having to rely on family members for support, on the other hand. While being back in the family led to emotions of happiness and satisfaction, not being able to meet their family expectations and to perform the roles expected of people of their age led to various negative emotions, including sadness and anxiety. Com o rápido desenvolvimento da Internet, a popularização de dispositivos móveis e de sites de comércio eletrônico, procurar um produto específico a partir de uma imagem tem se tornado uma área de pesquisa promissora. Nesse contexto, técnicas de CBIR (Content-Based Image Retrieval) vêm sendo exploradas para apoiar e melhorar a experiência de compra dos consumidores. Neste trabalho, abordamos o problema de busca visual de produtos usando uma imagem como consulta, no lugar da mais popular abordagem de busca que é baseada em palavras-chave. Nós propomos uma estratégia de re-ranking que faz uso de informações multimídia normalmente disponíveis nas bases de dados de produtos. Nossa estratégia faz uso de informações de categoria e descrição textual associadas às imagens melhor posicionadas de um ranking inicial gerado por técnicas puramente de CBIR. Experimentos foram realizados considerando o julgamento de usuários em duas coleções de imagens coletadas a partir de sites de comércio eletrônico. Nossos resultados mostram que nossa estratégia alcança ganhos significativos quando comparada à busca puramente visual.

With the fast development of the Internet and the popularization of mobile devices, searching for a specific product in e-commerce Web sites through a query image has become a very promising area of research. In this context, CBIR (Content-Based Image Retrieval) techniques have been exploited to support and improve the shopping experience of consumers. In this dissertation, we address the problem of product visual search using an image as a query, instead of the more popular approach of search based on keywords. We propose a strategy for re-ranking based on multimedia information usually available in database of products. Our strategy makes use of category information and textual description associated with the top-k images of an initial ranking generated by CBIR techniques only. Experiments were performed considering the judgment of users on two collections of images collected from popular e-commerce Web sites. Our results show that our strategy achieves significant gains compared to an approach based only on CBIR techniques.

▼ Over the last two decades, public sector organisations in the UK have invested heavily on electronic government (E-Government) projects to transform the services offered to citizens. E-government is seen as an enabler that helps public services to become more efficient, transparent, cost effective and accountable. In this respect the implementation of e-government projects have been influenced by private sector thinking borrowed from New Public Management (NPM) principles. However, the evaluation of e-government under the influence of NPM has been primarily focused on economic and technical outputs whereas its value to citizens has been largely ignored. Furthermore, research shows that many e-government projects have failed to deliver the desired outcomes when influenced by NPM principles. Recent studies have emerged that highlights the significance of public value to understand the broader outcomes of e-government services. The aim of this study is to explore the concept of public value and identify the antecedents that affect value and the consequences of value on e-government. To do so, this study develops a conceptual model grounded on Public Value Theory, DeLone and McLean IS Success Model and Means End Chain Theory combining the disciplines of Public Administration, Information Systems and Marketing. The conceptual model was validated through Structural Equation Modelling (SEM) based on online surveys of 705 users of egovernment services in the UK. The findings have highlighted significant theoretical and practical implications for researchers and policy makers. This research highlights that the key dimensions (services, outcome and trust) of public value theory cannot be validated on their own as they are far too abstract in current literature. Therefore, this study verifies that public value can only be validated by drawing from the multiple fields of Public Administration, Information System and Marketing. From a practical perspective, the study offers policy makers a frame of reference to understand the influence of value on the adoption and re-use of e-government services.

Este trabalho tem como objetivo a análise do espaço urbano, na medida em que explora o conceito de teatralidade das cidades para o urbanismo. Compreende a relação das intervenções artístico-urbanas e do teatro no espaço da metrópole, buscando principalmente fazer prospecções tanto da arte cênica, como das cidades.Ajuda a entender melhor o panorama mundial e as transformações culturais ao indicar, principalmente no âmbito das cidades, as novas possibilidades para o desenvolvimento da arte e da cultura, e para futuros empreendimentos e parcerias entre os setores público e privado. A arquitetura surge, nesta proposta, como um elemento essencial na história das cidades e das sociedades mundiais, em todos os seus períodos. Percorremos a trajetória teatral de três importantes representantes do teatro brasileiro, os grupos Galpão e Armatrux de Belo Horizonte e o Teatro da Vertigem de São Paulo. Buscou-se entender a relação do teatro de cada grupo, com os espaços da cidade, na sua forma de produção, no processo de re-significação de importantes espaços simbólicos e na re-qualificação dos vazios urbanos, em novos lugares contemporâneos da arte nas metrópoles.

The purpose of this work is the urban space analysis, as well as it explores the cities theatricalism concept to the urban planning. It comprises the relation between the artistic-urban interventions and the theater at the metropolis space, trying, mainly, to make prospections of both, the scenic art and the cities. Helping to better understand the world-wide scenery and the cultural transformations; and revealing it to the new possibilities for the art and culture development, mainly at the cities scope, for future undertaken and association between public and private sectors. Architecture results from, on this proposal, as a main element in the history of the cities and the world-wide societies, in all their periods. We covered the theatrical trajectory of three important Brazilian theater representatives, the groups Galpão and Armatrux from Belo Horizonte and Teatro da Vertigem from São Paulo. Seeking to understand the theater relation of each group, in its production manner, with the city spaces, at the re-significance process of important symbolic spaces and at the unoccupied urban re-designation in new contemporary places of art in metropolises.

▼ O presente trabalho é resultado de pesquisa qualitativa realizada no Centro de Reeducação e Inclusão Social de Mulheres Apenadas (CRISMA) de São Luís entre 2009 e 2010 com o objetivo investigar como se organiza e se manifesta o caráter reeducativo da pena privativa de liberdade naquela instituição. Esse objetivo se desdobra em outros secundários tais como: discutir estudos que abordam a proposta de reeducação como finalidade da pena privativa de liberdade; analisar qual o tratamento dado à mulher no contexto do sistema prisional; investigar a identidade que a mulher tem de si mesma e aquela que lhe é dada por outros; identificar os efeitos do encarceramento sobre a identidade social da mulher apenada; mostrar como se organiza a oferta de atividades reeducativas no CRISMA; identificar como se manifestam as práticas educativas desenvolvidas CRISMA; identificar como as detentas veem o trabalho reeducativo da instituição e em que medida elas consideram que este contribui para sua inclusão social. Uma vez que este trabalho apresenta como questão central a reflexão sobre reeducação no espaço prisional, as análises realizadas por Thompson (2002), Zaffaroni (2001) e Baratta (2002) sobre os fins da pena são pertinentes por abordarem as implicações do objetivo reabilitador da pena, designado indistintamente de regeneração, readaptação, ressocialização e reeducação, considerando que o ambiente carcerário remete a relações de poder complexas de um espaço caracterizado por contradições de toda ordem. Apresentamos também as contribuições de Berger e Luckman (1985) ao tratarem dos processos de socialização primária e secundária, aspecto importante para compreensão do termo nesse trabalho. Logo, o entendimento de que o ser humano é um ser socialmente construído, do seu caráter de inconcluso e inacabado que se constitui ao longo da sua existência, é a fundamentação dos fins de uma educação que se propõe a humanizar e responder aos desafios que se colocam na realidade penitenciária. A pesquisa sinalizou para entender que as mulheres apenadas do CRISMA absorveram a identidade de boas presas como necessidade de sobrevivência na prisão e como forma de resistência ao estigma de criminosas, pois a representação desse papel é incompatível com o desejo de restabelecer os seus espaços de pertencimento social. Verificou-se também que as mulheres atribuem à qualificação profissional e ao trabalho maior importância que a instrução escolar, pois, para elas, a qualificação as instrumentaliza para o mercado de trabalho e representa além da oportunidade de remuneração, possibilidade de remir a pena. Aiming at analyzing the process of singularity of utterances produced by Arnaldo Antunes in 40 Escritos, a book which allows us to think about the artistic in its relation to the style, taken as a work with and about the symbolic, this dissertation is theoretically founded in the principles of the Linguistics of Enunciation, notably the studies by Emile Benveniste, in some concepts of Freudo-Lacanian Psychoanalysis, in Philosophy, in French Discourse Analysis, and in Morphology. It is assumed that the symbolic leads to the assumption of singularity in linguistic terms. In such a perspective, this process of singularity, which Arnaldo has been through, seems to stand beyond of what can be conceived as discourse (the place of stability) and as speech (the place of instability). Searching for the features of the artistic creation, Arnaldo strives to mark that the different is also in what is the same. This brings us the possibility of distinguishing that the unusual comprises the usual. In other words, by looking for the artistic creation, it is possible to realize that there is a work with and about the symbolic whose constancy produces a way of writing in which an identity in mo(ve)ment, as a trait of singularity, can be noticed. The analysis has shown that this kind of production undertaken by the author is related to what can not be neglected to do. It has to do with how the subject deals with the language. In addition, it was the relation of Arnaldo with the language, and broadly, with the symbolic, that enabled the analysis to find out that, in 40 Escritos, Arnaldo plays with the language as well as he plays with the symbolic. As a result, such a process of artistic production ends up in (re) creating the symbolic which also comprises linguistic interaction, linguistic (re)creation, and symbolic subversion.

O presente trabalho se configura como um lugar afetado por pressupostos teóricos da Linguística da Enunciação de base benvenistiana e por alguns conceitos da área da Psicanálise freudo-lacaniana, Filosofia, Análise de Discurso de linha francesa e Morfologia. Sendo essa a natureza do trabalho, o pensamento acerca da eleição dessas teorias como subsídio se fia no quê, dessas áreas, pode corroborar o estudo ao qual me propus a fazer. Sob essa perspectiva, a presente pesquisa é uma proposta de análise do processo de singularização do dizer arnaldiano, especificamente na obra 40 escritos, pensando a produção do artístico em relação ao estilo enquanto um trabalho com e sobre o simbólico que leva à assunção de singularidade em termos linguísticos. Uma singularização que parece estar para além do que, na perspectiva enunciativa, pode ser concebido como discurso (estabilidade) e como fala (instabilidade). This paper discussed the identity reconfigurations of teachers compared to the processes of integration of digital technologies into their teaching practice research focuses primarily on the practices of digital literacies in school, since one of the related issues concerning the (re) identity configurations in a society with unprecedented technological advances amid a globalized society. These advances and changes directly affect the school and the teaching / learning. For these reasons, this thesis aimed to investigate how digital literacy practices are being viewed and used at school, if they are, from the point of view of teachers in the areas of humanities, exact and biological. The specific objectives was to: a) see how the digital literacy practices are being seen in school, b) describe whether the practices of digital literacies are worked in school by teachers in their classroom practices and to what extent this occurs and c) investigate identity configurations of teachers, effective participants in cyberspace through blogs, as autobiographical writing aimed at critical reflection on own performance. The theoretical part listed for this work was Braga (2005), Freitas (2010);Buzato (2010); Coscarelli (2007), Moran (2007), Hall (2006), Bauman (2005), Giddens (1991, 2002) among others. The research took place in two schools in the interior of Paraná,being a public school and a private school, and research participants are teachers who work at the two schools. The research is predominantly qualitative in view of their instruments and technical procedures employed, and these questionnaires, blogs created by teachers participating in which are found the perceptions of working with digital language classroom, group discussions with participants to debate about the use of digital technologies in teaching practice. Therefore, the research was characterized with mixed method research. It is especially important to note that this research craved contribute to teachers working through the practices of literacies / digital literacies and discussion groups, to reflect on new digital technologies in the classroom and also could adopt them before this virtual universe that gather individuals in a society filled with machines and digital equipment. Furthermore, we sought to achieve results that provide better understandings of the practices of literacies / digital literacies and the need for inclusion in the digital world, as well as issues related to the (re) shaping the identity of teachers in this environment

▼ A dissertação aqui apresentada tem o título: Resposta ao trauma: re-experiência traumática, dissociação e representação da vinculação em mulheres vítimas de violência conjugal. A investigação teve como objectivo o estudo da relacão entre a organização da vinculação, a ocorrência de experiências traumáticas na infância e adolescência e os sintomas de perturbação de pós-stress traumático (PPST) e de dissociação peritraumática, em 30 utentes do Núcleo de Atendimento à Vítima de Évora. Foram utilizados o E.M.B.U, Early Trauma Questionnaire, Escala de Avaliação da Resposta ao Acontecimento Traumático e o Questionário de Experiências Dissociativas Peritraumáticas. Os resultados sustentam a hipótese de que a representação de vinculações controladas e rejeitantes, bem como a ocorrência de experiências maus-tratos físicos e psicológicos na infância e adolescência estão relacionadas com uma presença mais marcada de sintomas de dissociação peritraumática. Verifica-se ainda que esta relação é um preditor significativo dos sintomas de PPST (hiperactivação), em resposta à violência conjugal; ABSTRACT: The thesis presented has the title: Trauma response: traumatic re-experience, dissociation and attachment representation of women victims of intimate violence. The research aimed to study the relation between attachment´s organization, the occurrence of traumatic experiences in childhood and adolescence, the symptoms of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and peritraumatic dissociation in 30 users of the center for victim´s assistance of Évora. We used the E.M.B.U, Early Trauma Questionnaire, Rating Scale Response to Traumatic Event Questionnaire and Dissociative Experiences Peritraumatic Questionnaire. The results support the hipothesis that attachment´s representions of control and rejection, as well as the occurrence of physical and psychological childhood and adolescence´s maltreatments are associated to a marked presence of peritraumatic dissociation´s symptoms. It is shown that this relation is still a significant predictor of PPST´s symptoms (increased anxiety and emotional arousal) in response to intimate partner violence. Este trabalho tem por objetivo avaliar o impato do Projeto Incluir (PI) – programa municipal de ação social no Município de Castelo de Paiva, socorrendo-se da metodologia de análise de implementação de Mendes (2006). Pretende-se avaliar qual o impato que o PI teve nos beneficiários, na comunidade e nas relações interinstitucionais e, paulatinamente, no desenvolvimento do próprio concelho. Foram abordados alguns conceitos teóricos, nomeadamente pobreza, exclusão social e fatores associados a estes, municípios, territorialidade, parceria e intervenção ao nível local, com o intuito de fundamentar as hipóteses de trabalho da presente dissertação, nomeadamente o impacto e a eficácia que este projeto teve sobre as competências pessoais, sociais e profissionais dos beneficiários, assim como ao nível da empregabilidade e isolamento social. Fizemos uma análise ao PI na totalidade dos diversos anos de vigoração (2006 – 2011) em termos de execução/avaliação. Por disponibilidade de dados, e de acordo com pressupostos definidos, centramos a nossa análise numa amostra de 117 pessoas (estiveram integradas no PI durante a sua vigência). Concluímos que o PI teve um impato positivo na amostra e agregados familiares e, paulatinamente, no território, rentabilizando recursos endógenos e parcerias através de respostas individualizadas e sistémicas. Não obstante, o projeto em causa também tem limitações que se correlacionam com restrições orçamentais, parcerias mal definidas, inoperacionais e dificuldades em alguns beneficiários em apreender o projeto como uma ferramenta potenciadora de mudanças sociais e construção de novos projetos de vida.

This study aims to evaluate the impact of ‘Include Project’, a social-action driven Municipal program in Castelo de Paiva, supported by the methodology of analysis of Mendes’ (2006) methodology. The goal is to evaluate the 'Include Project’s' impact within the beneficiaries, the community and on the inter-institutional relations, and, gradually, its influence on the County’s development. To evaluate this impact there has been a study of some theoretical concepts, such as poverty, social exclusion (and factors associated to them), municipalities, territoriality, partnership and some local intervention, trying to fundament the work opportunities of this dissertation, such as the impact and effectiveness that this project had upon the personal, social and professional skills of the beneficiaries, as well as the employability and social isolation. We have analyzed the “PI” on its entirety over the years (2006 - 2011) and the various actions related to its execution / evaluation. By data availability, and according to our own defined assumptions, we focused our analysis on a 117 people sample that has been on the project throught its duration. Based in our sample we have concluded that “Include Project” had a great impact within our individuals and their households, and gradually, also on the analyzed territory, maximizing local resources and partnerships by individual and systemic responses.…

O desenvolvimento de Radiofármacos específicos capazes de detectar e/ou tratar neoplasias continua a ser uma das mais importantes áreas de investigação, uma vez que o cancro tem grandes taxas de incidência na população mundial. A utilização de péptidos biologicamente activos é uma estratégia para direccionar os radiofármacos aos tumores de uma forma específica, já que os receptores que os reconhecem estão sobre-expressos numa grande variedade de tumores. A introdução dos precursores organometálicos fac-[M(H2O)3(CO)3]+ (M=Re, 99mTc) permitiu explorar novas metodologias na marcação de péptidos com radioisótopos de Tc ou Re, com base numa química bem definida e facilmente adaptável a diferentes estratégias de bioconjugação. Apesar desta vantagem, o uso de complexos de tricarbonilo de Tc(I)/Re(I) na marcação de péptidos tem conduzido a radiopéptidos com uma farmacocinética pouco favorável. Mais do que uma limitação intrínseca da aproximação tricarbonilo, esta tendência reflecte a utilização de ligandos bifuncionais (LBF) que originam péptidos radiomarcados com caracter lipofílico, com uma excreção hepatobiliar indesejável. Assim, a concepção de novos LBF para marcação de péptidos com a unidade fac-[M(CO)3]+ ainda se reveste de grande importância de modo a aproveitar a elevada estabilidade in vitro/in vivo dos complexos tricarbonilo. Nesta tese, estudou-se a utilidade e influência de diferentes LBF tridentados na radiometalação de péptidos, com base na aproximação tricarbonilo. O péptido avaliado é um análogo de um Antagonista da Bombesina designado por AR. Este péptido é reconhecido pelos receptores do péptido libertador da Gastrina (GRP-r; Gastrin releasing peptide-receptor), sobreexpressos em vários cancros, nomeadamente no cancro da próstata. Neste contexto, o objetivo a longo prazo do trabalho descrito nesta tese foi contribuir para a concepção de novos radiofármacos específicos baseados em [99mTc(CO)3]+ para a visualização in vivo dos receptores da GRP, nomeadamente nas neoplasias da próstata. Para alcançar este objetivo, foram sintetizados três quelantes bifuncionais diferentes e caracterizados pelas técnicas usuais em química, incluindo ESI-MS, RMN e HPLC, tendo sido posteriormente conjugados ao AR. Os ligandos bifuncionais estudados contêm pirazolilo (L1 e L2) e imidazolilo (L3) como grupos coordenantes e têm o mesmo número e tipo de átomos coordenantes (N,N,N). Esperava-se que conduzissem a complexos estáveis de Re(I)/Tc(I), cuja farmacocinética fosse facilmente optimizada por introdução de grupos hidrofílicos nos anéis de pirazolilo e imidazolilo. Os dois LBF derivados do pirazolilo que foram estudados contêm espaçadores diferentes entre o grupo carboxílico terminal a usar para ligação ao péptido e a amina central do ligando: L1 contém um braço do tipo propilo e o L2 um braço metilo. Esta tese explora o universo das crônicas de Millôr Fernandes publicadas na revista Istoé e Istoé/Senhor, de 1983 a 1993, analisando a sua relação com o contexto da realidade sociopolítica brasileira e tendo como pano de fundo o processo de redemocratização no País. A partir disso, é feita uma leitura desse momento político através de um enfoque eminentemente sociológico dos textos, em que, a partir da visão do autor, é mostrado o cerne da nossa formação cultural e, consequentemente, um perfil do homem brasileiro. É na análise das diversas páginas, tanto isoladamente como em conjunto, que podemos mostrar como o autor constrói esse processo, inclusive num patamar mais ampliado, inseridas num contexto mundial — do humano brasileiro ao humano universal. Para isso, investiga-se, sob o prisma temático, os artifícios ficcionais dos quais se vale o autor no sentido de oferecer uma visão multifacetada da realidade do País, sob a ótica do humor e da ironia, sem esquecer o fenômeno da globalização da cultura mundial. Através de recursos como a paródia e a ilustração, Millôr oferece um repertório de textos em que se pode vislumbrar um painel onde aparecem nítidas relações entre humor e ideologia. Nesse sentido, a análise proposta dá-se a partir da perspectiva jamesoniana, em vista o contexto social histórico e econômico, passando pelo dialogismo de Mikhail Bakhtin (1981) ― paródia, ironia e carnavalização. A hipótese principal é a possibilidade de leitura da realidade do período histórico através da ficção. Isso se dá a partir de uma reflexão que tem como base um mosaico temático, escorado no humor, que envolve as discussões sobre a época dos fatos, sobre as relações entre humor, arte e papel do intelectual; sobre poder; e sobre a realidade brasileira e universal.

This thesis explores the universe of Millôr Fernandes chronicles that were published in Istoé magazine from 1983 to 1993 and analyzes their relationship with the Brazilian sociopolitical reality in the background of the redemocratization process in the country. From this, there is an interpretation of the political moment by an eminently sociological focus of the texts, in which, from the author's point of view, the very core of our cultural heritage is shown and consequently, a profile of the Brazilians. It’s by analyzing the pages, one by one or several together as a collection, that we may demonstrate how the author builds up this process, even in a wider level that is part of a world context — from Brazilian human to universal human. For that, it investigates the fiction stratagems that the author uses to offer a multifaceted view of the reality in the country under the focus of humor and irony without overlooking the phenomenon of the globalization of the world culture. Throughout resources as parody and illustration Millôr offers a repertoire of texts where the reader can have a glimpse of a panel that shows a vivid relationship between humor and ideology. In this research is intended to analyse the expansion of the economic sector related to the development ways of renewable energy and the economic and financial performance of companies operating in this field. The electricity requirements are increasing at alarming rate and the power demand has been running ahead of supply. The renewable energy industry remains one of the most vibrant, fast-changing, and transformative sectors of the global economy. Technology improvements, cost declines, and the catalytic influence of new financing structures, have turned the sector into a driver of economic growth around the world (IEA, 2012; New energy market, 2015). The recent severe energy crisis has forced the world to develop new and alternative methods of power generation. The non-conventional methods of power generation are solar energy, fuel cells, wind power generation, geo-thermal energy generation, etc. (Riva & Foppapedretti, 2014; Twidelland & Weir, 2006). The goals of the research project are i) to analyse the available ways of alternative (renewable) energies, their markets and evolution; ii) to analyse the profitability (financial performance) based the analysis of stock returns and on financial ratios of renewable energy companies. The main research question is that renewal energy companies are profitable and do not have negative effect in environment when compared with non-renewable energy companies (Dickson, 2016; Beiter, 2014). To test it and answer to the goals of the research, it will be collected secondary data, namely financial and non-financial data of renewal energy industry's market and companies’ stock prices for companies in Armenia, EU countries and other OECD countries. Esta investigação pretende analisar a expansão do setor económico relacionado com o desenvolvimento das energias renováveis e os desempenhos económico e financeiro das empresas que operam nesse setor. Os requerimentos de energia elétrica estão a aumentar a uma taxa alarmante e a procura de energia tem crescido mais que os meios de produção. A indústria da energia associada a fontes renováveis apresenta-se como uma das mais vibrantes e com mudanças consideráveis no setor de transformação da economia global. As evoluções tecnológicas, a redução dos custos e a influência catalítica de novas estruturas de financiamento, tem posicionado o setor numa posição dominante no crescimento económico a nível global (IEA,2012; New energy market, 2015). ▼ Nesta pesquisa pretende-se demonstrar que o sujeito humano em seu processo de amadurecimento, elabora maneiras pessoais simbólicas originais e subjetivas que se constituem num mapa onde ele se situa e se comunica com o mundo (pessoas e ambiente). Uma das formas sutis em que seus símbolos se manifestam é através de certas palavras-chave que ele constrói e para ele passam a traduzir aspectos significativos de si e de sua história. Suas experiências existenciais passam por elaborações subjetivas complexas, que ficam guardadas em seu nível consciente e inconsciente sob a forma de memórias, cuja hermenêutica nem sempre é de fácil compreensão. Assim, a inventividade de cada um cria simbolismos próprios que são facilitadores da auto compreensão e servem como meios para expressar aos outros sua maneira de ver e de se relacionar consigo, com o mundo e os outros, ou seja, a sua cosmogênese e sua cosmovisão. Isso parece ser parte da complexidade dos processos psíquicos que não se submetem à intencionalidade consciente, e por isso distorcem situações que não permitem uma comunicação clara e objetiva. Tais processos criam condicionamentos que vão se acumulando ao longo da história pessoal e se tornam estalactites formadas através da lenta repetição e sedimentação de experiências semelhantes, a ponto de se tornarem aspectos da própria personalidade. Tais núcleos são comunicados através de atitudes e comportamentos que são significativos para o próprio sujeito, mas nem sempre decifráveis em sua verdadeira natureza e significado. É comum que tais núcleos mantenham as áreas por ele atingidas, pouco desenvolvidas, criando obstáculos para a vivência objetiva dos desejos e/ou ideais. Eles se tornam núcleos psicodinâmicos que influem sobre o cotidiano do sujeito. A hipótese aqui proposta é de que tais palavras chave são expressões simbólicas de conteúdos internalizados de cada sujeito e assumem o caráter de um caminho, nem sempre consciente, de auto revelação. Nesta tese nos ativemos na análise de palavras-chave relacionadas com a religiosidade do sujeito e de alguma maneira de sua vocação à vida religiosa, uma vez que todos os sujeitos são estudantes de teologia e aspiram ao presbiterado na Igreja Católica. Analisamos proposições, frases preferidas e palavras que, segundo os pesquisados, falam da percepção que eles têm de suas próprias crenças, objetivos e sentido de vida. No nível consciente, cada um tem suas razões para justificá-las. Em nossa análise verificamos que suas palavras-chave contêm significados mais profundos do que os alegados pelos sujeitos, dizendo mais de sua religiosidade do que eles mesmos supõem. Freqüentemente estavam ligadas a conflitos ou experiências mal elaboradas internamente, cujos significados ficavam mascarados por processos psicológicos inconsistentes, geradores de tensões. As palavras-chave oferecem, portanto, uma autobiografia do amadurecimento de fato vivido pelo sujeito. O processo de revitalização urbana de uma área degradada implica uma procura e um estudo de contextualização das necessidades e das expectativas que incidem sobre o território e ditam o nível de intervenção. O seu planeamento encontra várias formas de ação sobre o território, dependentes do grau de alteração da estrutura do tecido edificado existente. Encontrar a forma adequada, a partir do conhecimento de que “(…) no urbanismo não é possível recorrer a ensaios de laboratório – experimenta-se e cria-se sobre o real (…)” (Pardal et al., 2000, p.15), requer um trabalho de pesquisa e de análise das experiências relacionáveis que, no nosso ponto de vista, quanto mais profundo, maiores serão as possibilidades de sucesso. Para os locais onde o nível de obsolescência conduziu à área degradada e quando exista o interesse e vontade em proceder ao processo de revitalização urbana, a reestruturação urbana é uma forma de intervir no território que altera profundamente a estrutura existente, acrescenta infraestruturas e unifica o antigo com o novo. Neste trabalho, fez-se o caminho da procura dos aspetos que influenciam o ambiente termal, na perspetiva de se apontar uma possibilidade de intervenção urbana no Lugar do Banho, pequeno aldeamento onde se localizam as termas de Alcafache, através da reestruturação urbana no processo de revitalização do local.

The urban revitalization in a degraded area is a study and research process in which the contextualization of its needs and expectations is what dictates the intervention level. Its planning acts on the territory in several ways, which are dependent on the pre-existing built structure’s modification level. Finding the proper way – acknowledging that, as Pardal et al. (2000, p.15) put it, in urbanism, one can’t just use laboratory rehearsal, one must experiment and create on the reality – requires an analysis and research work about the relatable experiences that, in our point of view, is more likely to have success the deepest it gets to be. In places where the level of obsolescence has led to its degradation and in which there is a will and an interest to proceed to the urban revitalization, the urban re-structuring is a way of intervening in the territory that deeply modifies the pre-existing structure, adding infrastructures and unifying the old and the new. In this research, an attempt was made to look for the aspects that influence the thermal environment/surroundings, with the objective of suggesting a possible urban intervention in Lugar do Banho, a small village where the Alcafache Thermae are located, through the urban re-structuring in the revitalization process of the site.

Presentemente, é uma inevitabilidade para as agências de viagens considerarem a existência da Internet na forma como realizam os negócios. E é logo na definição da estratégia a definir que a mesma deve ser considerada. O posicionamento da organização no mercado, deve ser definido como online ou offline, para que seja possível articular o produto ao mercado que se pretende atingir. O ritmo de inovação é hoje e será cada vez mais acelerado, com inúmeros reflexos nas agências de viagens, o que faz com que o enfoque seja atribuído ao cliente, onde cada vez mais se pretende satisfazer as suas exigências, assim como prever as suas necessidades. Os sistemas de informação, Intranet e Extranet ocupam nesta esfera uma importância redobrada, no sentido em que estas ferramentas são parte integrante do sucesso das agências de viagens e das organizações em geral. A metodologia de investigação utilizada nesta dissertação, envolveu um inquérito por questionário às agências de viagens independentes e pertencentes a grupos nacionais, na ilha da Madeira. O objectivo foi avaliar a importância que atribuem às Tecnologias de Informação e Comunicação e de que forma a Internet está a influenciar o comportamento e a assessoria ao cliente.

Nowadays, travel agencies acknowledge the existence of the Internet as inevitable to the way that they conduct business. It should be immediately considered in the strategy setting stages. The positioning of the organization in the market should be defined as online or offline, in order to articulate the product to the intended market. The pace of innovation is today increasingly more accelerated, with diverse effects to the travel agencies, shifting the focus to the costumer, drawing more attention to the satisfaction of their demands and also to the prediction of their needs. Information systems, Intranet and Extranet have, in this context, doubled importance since these tools are an essential part to the success of travel agencies and organizations in general. The methodology applied to this essay involves a questioning survey to travel agencies, independent or attached to larger national groups, in Madeira Island. Its main objective was to size the importance that each of these attributes to information technologies and the way that the Internet is influencing their behavior concerning the client’s assistance.

La presente ricerca, articolata in tre capitoli, è volta ad analizzare il ruolo che l’autonomia privata ricoprì nell’ambito dei iura praediorum, sia sotto il profilo contenutistico, che sotto quello dinamico dell’usus servitutis. Il primo capitolo esamina il contributo dell’autonomia privata nell’emersione dei primi iura praediorum rusticorum, individuabili in via, iter, actus e aquae ductus, i quali si atteggiavano originariamente a potere dominicale che il titolare del fondo avvantaggiato esercitava su una determinata porzione del fondo vicino. L’origine separata delle prime servitù rustiche ne determinò un’iniziale tipicità. Le singole facoltà proprie della via ne furono estrapolate nella prassi, per divenire figure autonome. Il successivo intervento giurisprudenziale fu fondamentale per fornire ad iter ed actus un’idonea veste giuridica, mediante la formulazione della nozione di ius in re aliena. Il secondo capitolo è dedicato allo studio del ruolo svolto dai privati nell’emersione della categoria della servitus. Con la genesi dei iura praediorum urbanorum e l’introduzione di nuove servitù rustiche inizia a profilarsi una categoria unitaria con propri caratteri peculiari. Anche in questo contesto si riscontra il ruolo preminente della prassi negoziale, affiancata dall’elaborazione concettuale della giurisprudenza, particolarmente vivace in epoca tardo-repubblicana. Al tema dell’usus servitutis è dedicato il terzo capitolo. Per quanto attiene alle servitù più antiche, l’utilizzo prolungato del passaggio o della conduttura d’acqua consentiva il consolidamento di una situazione di fatto in una realtà riconosciuta dal diritto. Tale usus della servitù fu oggetto anche di una specifica tutela interdittale. Quanto al modus, si esclude che potesse avere una funzione correttiva della tipicità dei iura praediorum: esso, attienente unicamente all’esercizio del diritto, non incideva sul contenuto delle singole servitù e non ne modificava l’utilitas. Si ritiene, in conclusione, che i privati restassero liberi di riversare nel modello delineato dalla giurisprudenza le utilità che le nuove esigenze socio-economiche richiedevano, nel rispetto dei caratteri delineati dalla giurisprudenza. Si può, pertanto, notare una distinzione tra servitù nominate, ampiamente analizzate dalla giurisprudenza, e servitù innominate, emerse dalla vivacità della prassi negoziale.

The aim of this research is to analyse the role of private autonomy in iura praediorum, both for their content and for the dynamic profile of usus servitutis. The first chapter examines the contribution of private autonomy to the emergence of the first iura praediorum rusticorum, such as via, iter, actus, aquae ductus: these were originally structured as a dominical power, that the owner whose estate has an advantage over the neighbouring estate. ▼ Esta pesquisa teve por objetivo investigar o sofrimento psíquico de professores do ensino fundamental, para uma possível compreensão do mal-estar de docentes que atuam na Rede Pública de Ensino do Distrito Federal, com históricos de afastamento por licenças médicas. Para tanto, a pesquisa se desenvolveu guiada pelos seguintes objetivos específicos: identificação nos relatos das professoras se há manifestação de causas subjetivas (pessoal) e objetivas (do trabalho) geradoras de mal-estar, que levam ao sofrimento psíquico no trabalho docente; verificação nos relatos, quanto aos destinos da angústia que leva ao sofrimento e a possível re-significação; a possibilidade de contribuição para uma reflexão, construção de idéias e atitudes que possibilitem a re-significação do mal-estar na atuação docente. Para tanto, buscamos fundamentação, além da Educação no aporte teórico psicanalítico, bem como em algumas contribuições filosóficas sobre o mal-estar docente na modernidade e a subjetividade no trabalho; a questão do sofrimento do professor e os sintomas que denunciam o sofrimento psíquico e afinal a compreensão do mal-estar, ao apontar possíveis caminhos na perspectiva da rememoração, via resgate do desejo um dia manifesto na escolha profissional. Neste propósito, foram investigadas quatro professoras de uma Escola Classe da Asa Sul com históricos de afastamento por licenças médicas. Como procedimento metodológico para análise de conteúdo, segundo Bardin (1979), utilizamos a entrevista semi-estruturada e o dispositivo da memória educativa, que nos forneceram as informações e os resultados. Desse modo, foram encontradas sete categorias temáticas, a saber: trabalho, adoecimento, família, angústia, impotência, memória, professor. Dos resultados alcançados, em resposta ao primeiro objetivo, percebemos que as causas objetivas do sofrimento psíquico estão atreladas às questões próprias do trabalho, como: organização e planejamento das tarefas, mas também, vinculadas a questões subjetivas, pessoais, de modo que não conseguem dissociar suas individualidades das questões do convívio social. Quanto ao segundo objetivo, constatamos uma grande incidência dos sentimentos de medo, insegurança, culpa, tristeza, sensação de morte, taquicardia, falta de ar, desgaste, bem como, recorrência de choro, depressão e associada a esta, o pânico. Em reposta ao terceiro objetivo, percebemos um reconhecimento das professoras, em gostar da profissão. Há, pois identificação com a docência. Desse modo, muito embora, seja inevitável a angústia, o sofrimento na profissão docente é no trabalho que as professoras encontram satisfação. ▼ Despite being considered the current reference standard for perimetric testing in glaucoma, standard automated perimetry has several cardinal limitations, including an unacceptably high test-retest variability, which increases with increasing depth of defect, and a limited useable dynamic range, with test-retest variability spanning almost the entire instrument range in advanced glaucomatous damage. Prior studies have shown that spatial summation, the mechanism by which the visual system integrates light energy across the area of a stimulus, differs in disease, with an enlarged Ricco’s area (the limit of complete spatial summation) found in individuals with glaucoma. The aim of this work was to investigate whether a perimetric stimulus designed to exploit these changes in spatial summation would enable a greater signal/noise ratio (SNR) than that of the current standard stimulus, by directly measuring the displacement of the spatial summation function in glaucoma. Three stimulus forms were developed; one varying in area alone, one varying in both area and contrast simultaneously, and one varying in contrast alone, all operating within the local Ricco’s area. These novel stimuli were compared with the standard Goldmann III stimulus, in terms of disease signal, noise, and SNR. The experiments presented in this thesis indicate that a stimulus modulating in area alone may offer greater benefits for measuring glaucomatous changes in spatial summation in a clinical setting, in the form of a greater disease signal, more uniform response variability with depth of defect, and greater SNR, when compared with the standard Goldmann III stimulus. Additionally, there is some indication that this stimulus is more robust to the effects of intraocular straylight than the Goldmann III stimulus, although test-retest variability and robustness to optical defocus are largely similar. As this work represents the early investigations of this stimulus, further work is required to examine its translation into a clinical environment.

▼ Age-related macular degeneration (AMD) is the leading cause of visual impairment in the developed world. The prevalence of this disease will continue to increase over the coming decades as the average age of the global population rises. There is consequently an urgent need to develop tests that are sensitive to early visual dysfunction, in order to identify individuals that have a high risk of developing AMD, to identify patients that would benefit from treatment, to assess the outcomes of that treatment and to evaluate emerging treatment strategies. An emerging body of evidence suggests that dark adaptation is a sensitive biomarker for early AMD. Cone dark adaptation is of particular interest to clinicians, as it can identify patients with early AMD in a relatively short recording period. Consequently, this thesis aimed to optimise psychophysical and electrophysiological techniques for the assessment of cone dark adaptation in early AMD, in order to maximise its diagnostic potential. A range of psychophysical methods were shown to be capable of monitoring the rapid changes in threshold that occur during cone dark adaptation. An optimal psychophysical protocol for the assessment of cone dark adaptation in early AMD was developed based on the results of a systematic evaluation of the effect of stimulus parameters and pre-adapting light intensity on the diagnostic potential of cone dark adaptation in early AMD. When compared to the focal cone ERG photostress test, both techniques were shown to be similarly diagnostic for early AMD. In addition, the time constant of cone recovery was shown to be significantly correlated with age, hence the sensitivity and specificity of cone dark adaptation as a biomarker for early macular disease may be further improved by considering these age-related changes. In conclusion, this thesis has confirmed that cone dark adaptation is a sensitive functional biomarker for early AMD. However, as cross-sectional studies are unable to determine the true diagnostic potential of a biomarker, longitudinal investigations are needed to explore the long-term potential of cone dark adaptation and other visual functions as biomarkers for early AMD.
