The synthesis of landomycin A hexasaccharide (7) is described. The stereocontrolled introduction of key glycoside linkages relies on the combined application of glycosyl tetrazoles and phosphates to establish alpha and beta glycosidic linkages, respectively. Spectral comparison of 7 to landomycin A octaacetate corroborates the assignded structure of landomycin A.
