▼ ‘Alternative’ food systems (AFS), understood as assemblages of agri-food related production, exchange and consumption activities, often characterised by increased physically and/or cognitive proximity between producers and consumers, have experienced considerable academic and popular interest in the past decade and a half. Despite continued growth in the number and popularity of AFS manifestations like farmers’ markets, research suggests that these provisioning systems remain the preserve of relatively affluent consumers. Furthermore, the language and practices of alternative food system advocates has tended to create a divide between ‘alternative’ and ‘conventional’ food systems which is not always empirically supported and which has made attempts at improving AFS access equity susceptible to claims that their defining quality attributes are inevitably diluted as they enter the mass market. At the same time, the growing popularity of internet enabled e-commerce has resulted in fundamental changes to many markets, including claims that there is a structural shift by consumer away from mass marketed products towards niche markets, such as those which characterise AFS. This study examines this changing dynamic via a comparison of e-commerce mediated AFS and non e-commerce mediated AFS. The purpose of this comparison being to determine if the application of e-commerce to AFS has resulted in a relative increase in demand from resource constrained consumers and/or a significant change to the quality conventions associated with these systems and which currently mark them as ‘alternative’. This research goal required the development of a novel theoretical model capable of incorporating the language of firm level strategy, as it relates to e-commerce and niche markets, as well as providing a means of discussing AFS quality attributes which does not resort to a bifurcated theory of alternative and conventional food systems. To this end, a theoretical model is advanced within this study which incorporates Michael Porter’s theory of generic strategy, the product lifecycle theory and French conventions theory. The latter being particularly useful as a tool for highlighting differences in production systems based upon different consumer and producer quality conventions. Empirical data for this study was gathered using both qualitative and quantitative methods. Qualitative data was gathered via in-depth interviews with AFS business actors within both e-commerce and non e-commerce mediated AFS in Melbourne, Australia and Vancouver, Canada. Quantitative data was gathered via a survey of 375 consumers who regularly acquired food through either the e-commerce mediated or non e-commerce mediated AFS studied in Melbourne and Vancouver. Results from this study show that the application of e-commerce to AFS is indeed associated with significant changes in consumer demand for AFS products, including consumer demographics, order size and consumer motivation. Dans un contexte économique mondialisé et caractérisé par une succession de crises environnementales, sociales et sanitaires, le développement relativement récent des circuits courts alimentaires témoigne d’un changement majeur de la perception du consommateur en matière de consommation locale et éthique. Parmi ces circuits, les Associations pour le Maintien d’une Agriculture Paysanne (AMAP), qui s’inscrivent dans un commerce équitable local, constitue un mode d’approvisionnement de plus en plus privilégié par les consommateurs. Ce travail de thèse, grâce à une démarche ethnomarketing d’immersion longue sur le terrain de recherche, vise à comprendre en profondeur la signification de la consommation amapienne. Les résultats émergeant du terrain nous amènent d’abord à discuter du concept de proximité, à travers la mise en lumière du lien entre la proximité, la confiance et la réassurance alimentaire. Ils nous permettent, ensuite, de mettre en lumière une quête de réenchantement de la consommation, qui passe par une valorisation de l’acte d’achat simple et ordinaire et une recherche d’hédonisme dans l’expérience de consommation, par un réenracinement de l’individu à travers la recherche de lien et d’authenticité par la consommation, et par une quête de spiritualité. Enfin, ils nous conduisent à mettre en évidence un empowerment du consommateur amapien, dont la prise de pouvoir passe à la fois par la collaboration à la production de l’offre de marché, et par une consommation socialement responsable pouvant rejoindre, pour certains amapiens, une résistance, par et à la consommation.

In an economic context of globalization characterized by a succession of environmental, social and health crises, the recent development of alimentary short supply chains illustrates a major change in the perception of ethic and local consumption. Among these supply chains, the AMAPs, Associations for the Preservation of Local Farming, are grounded in local fair trade and constitute an increasingly privileged mode of supply. Based on ethnomarketing method, of long period immersion on the research field, this thesis aims to a thorough understanding of amapien's consumption. Emerging results lead us to first discuss the concept of proximity, through highlighting the link between proximity, trust and alimentary reassurance. Second, allow us to highlight a quest for the reenchantment of consumption, that requires the valorization of the act of simple buying and a quest for hedonism in the experience of consumption, the rooting of the individual through the quest of link and authenticity by consumption and finally a quest for spirituality. Finally, these results brought to light the empowerment of the amapien consumer, who takes power by participating to the shaping of market offer, and thanks to a socially responsible consumption, that may be connected, for some amapiens, to a resistance through and to consumption.

▼ O presente Plano de Revitalização do Centro Histórico, enquanto estratégia e processo com caráter inclusivo e integrador (Moura, Guerra, Seixas e Freitas, 2006), vem definir prioridades estratégicas para o Centro Histórico de Braga, não só ao nível comercial mas nas mais diversas vertentes com que este se correlaciona, nomeadamente, cultura, turismo, lazer, na procura do bem-estar e da qualidade de vida e da oferta comercial e turística que corresponda às expetativas de residentes, trabalhadores e visitantes e que se revele um polo atrativo ao turismo. Há lacunas a colmatar, nomeadamente, no que diz respeito à acessibilidade, ao marketing promocional, ao turismo ou à cultura e recreação da um núcleo urbano e são inúmeros os exemplos de cidades que se vão afirmando como cidades comerciais, girando toda a dinâmica local em torno do seu comércio. As empresas possuem a autonomia e iniciativa e criam animações e planos de atratividade que começam por simples coisas como a decoração e disposição das próprias ruas. (Peters, 2007). Torna-se fundamental fazer uma análise e diagnóstico da realidade atual, traçando linhas orientadoras que, imprescindivelmente, devem partir da Administração Central e Local, “quanto mais não seja pelo efeito catalisador de exemplo e mobilização de recursos.” (UACS, 2014, p.5) E é exatamente o que se pretende com este projeto, sensibilizar e mobilizar os principais agentes económicos e sociais, ao traçar o cenário atual, e propor, de forma sustentada, ações a implementar. Esta investigação permitiu constatar que a revitalização do Centro Histórico de Braga tem de ser encarada como uma prioridade enquanto meio de transformação e progresso deste núcleo urbano identitário da cidade. Para tal, deve existir um planeamento estratégico concertado e uma gestão integrada e coesa, assente em princípios de cooperação, compromisso, transparência, inovação e participação ativa, que permitam criar um Centro Histórico vivo, sustentável, inovador e inclusivo. Предмет истраживања докторске дисертације је примена електронског пословања у локалним туристичким заједницама и могућности да се имплементацијом нових технологија унапреди комуникација са корисницима туристима. Истраживање у другом делу обухвата постојеће стање примене електронског пословања у Републици Србији и у свету, анализира се међузависност локалних туристичких заједница и потреба да се према корисницима туристима наступа обједињено. У трећем делу говори се о истраживању технологија електронског пословања локалних туристичких заједница и могућности да се оне технолошки и информационо обједине на бази заједничког интереса. Истраживањем су обухваћена до сада примењена технолошка решења и анализирана је потреба да се изврши координација комуникационих канала локалних туристичких заједница, како би оне биле у могућности да путем информација које се пласирају током пута,рутирају кориснике по жељеним путањама. Радом је показано да су комуникација и праћење и усмеравање корисника током пропутовања могући јединоприменом савремених технолошких решења. Централни проблем који се у дисертацији истражује и анализира је модел комуникационог повезивања локалних туристичких заједница. Да би се омогућило електронско пословање локалних туристичких заједница,мора се остварити трајна и аутоматизована комуникација на више нивоа и то хијерархијски од регионалних, преко локалних туристичких дестинација до појединачних објеката. Питање које се поставља je координација комуникационих канала локалних туристичких заједница. Пошто овакво пословање захтева ангажовање ресурса, рад обухвата проблем имплементације и одржавања овако конципираног модела. Друго релевантно питање које се разматра у овом раду је анализа могућности ангажовања значајног броја до сада незаинтересованих v учесника у пословању локалних туристичких заједница који би се мотивисали да прослеђивањем информација остваре одређени профит (affiliate маркетинг).

Author Irina Omelina Group or year 2008 Title of the thesis International Market Research of Local and Organic Market in Russia Number of pages and appendices 43 Supervisor Tarja Römer-Paakkanen The Finnish company Makumaku sells local and organic food products online. Cur-rently they are interested in getting information concerning the Russian local and organic food market, as well as Russian organic and local food online shops. A general analysis of the Russian organic food industry has been done by using PEST analysis. A competitor analysis was also carried out, including owners, target groups, logistics, pricing and marketing tools used. In this exploratory research the main method was secondary data analysis. Secondary data included published interviews and articles, as well as available statistical data from the Russian Internet about the Russian organic food industry (including online food shops). Another method was a structured observation approach of Rus-sian local and organic food online shops, based on certain criteria. The research has shown that despite the quite high demand for organic food products in Russia, the market is not that large and is somewhat unstable. The main obstacle is the absence of a clearly-defined legal certification system indicating which products are considered to be organic in Russia. The amount of e-commercialization of the Russian organic market is quite limited. As a rule the owners of Russian online shops are farmers themselves, individual entrepreneurs and small limited liability companies. They do not promote their businesses much by online or offline tools, except by using social media and social networking. Successful logistics is crucial in order to succeed in this business area. Makumaku has good chance to enter the Russian market successfully if they concen-trate on a specific area (e.g. Moscow) and find the right Russian partners, who could take care of logistics. Avec ma thèse de doctorat, j’ai pour objectif d’étudier la place et l’influence des commerçants et des transporteurs de la société des provinces gauloises et germaniques du Haut Empire Romain ainsi que les relations existant entre eux et d’autres agents sociaux comme les notables locaux. En développant mes recherches précédentes à propos des relations entre les notables locaux et les commerçants gaulois comme des relations parmi ces derniers et en élargissant le champ de recherche, j’ai l’intention de répondre à la question suivante : - Comment les milieux relatifs aux activités économiques, y compris les transporteurs et les propriétaires fonciers, participaient-ils au commerce ? Certes, nous avons connaissance de plusieurs recherches traitant des marchands dans les provinces du nord-ouest. Cependant nous ferons deux remarques. D’une part, on donne surtout de l’importance aux problèmes les concernant en tant que groupe social plutôt qu’aux rapports entre milieux différents, soit les rapports entre commerçants, soit ceux entre ces derniers et d’autres agents sociaux. D’autre part, certains chercheurs, en incluant dans le champ de recherche les provinces gauloises, nous semblent engager un débat basé sur des sources provenant notamment de grands centres commerciaux comme Ostie et Lyon. Mais on peut se demander s’il est toujours possible de généraliser les résultats obtenus à ces points importants du commerce en raison de leur caractère très singulier et de leur documentation. Dans cette situation de recherche et dans le contexte provincial, mon étude a pour but de mieux comprendre la nature et la fonction sociale des participants aux actions commerciales, mais également les particularités de la société des provinces du nord-ouest. Plus concrètement, tout en continuant à examiner les rapports entre les hommes de métier et les élites, j’analyse les relations parmi les hommes de métier eux-mêmes. Dans ce but, je dépouille des inscriptions concernant les milieux commerciaux ou les transporteurs dans les provinces gauloises et germaniques, tout en tenant compte des données archéologiques.

With my dissertation, I aim to examine the role and influence of merchants and transporters in the society of Gallic and Germanic provinces of the Early Roman Empire and the relationships between them and other social agents like local notables. Developing my previous researches about rapports between local élite and Gallic merchants as well as relationships among the latter, and broadening the scope of research, I intend to reply to following question: - How did those who were related to economic activities, including transporters and landowners, participate in trade? Certainly, we are aware of many studies on merchants in the northwestern provinces. However, we can make two remarks. L'action publique locale dans les métropoles. Le cas de la gestion du commerce de rue à Mexico et Lima. Alors que la gouvernance métropolitaine fait l'objet de nombreux travaux en sciences sociales, les gouvernements locaux infra-métropolitains sont moins étudiés. Or, ils continuent d'être les acteurs principaux de la régulation des espaces urbains. Ils agissent de manière autonome sur leur territoire tout en étant dans une situation d'inter-territorialité spécifique au milieu urbain. L'analyse comparative de la gestion du commerce de rue à Mexico et Lima montre la mise en œuvre de l'action publique dans les territoires administratifs des métropoles. Elle distingue les centres historiques - vitrines et laboratoires des autorités régionales - des territoires municipaux où les politiques oscillent entre imitation, innovation et inertie. De plus, elle révèle une palette de processus et interactions horizontales et verticales entre les actions publiques des différentes autorités, alimentant le débat sur la fragmentation urbaine

Local public action in the metropolis. Case study of street vending policies in Mexico City and Lima. While metropolitan governance is the subject of much research in social sciences, local and infra-metropolitan governments have been studied less. However, they are still the main actors of urban space regulation. They act autonomously in their territories and are simultaneously in a situation of inter-territoriality specific to the urban environment. The comparative analysis of street vending policies in Mexico City and Lima displays the implementation of local public action in the administrative territories of the metropolis. It distinguishes historical centres –the showcases and laboratories of regional authorities– from municipal territories where the policies fluctuate between imitation, innovation and inertia. Likewise, the analysis contributes to the debate on urban fragmentation by revealing a range of horizontal and vertical interactions and processes between the public actions of the different authorities

▼ Le modèle de production, consommation et distribution agro-industriel fait l’objet depuis les années 1970 de critiques portant sur son impact environnemental, économique et sociétal. En réponse à ces critiques, s'est développé depuis les années 60 au Japon, 80 aux États- Unis, et plus récemment en France, une diversité d’initiatives et d’expérimentations socio-économiques visant à soutenir une agriculture plus respectueuse de l’homme et de la planète, basée sur de nouvelles formes d’organisation et orientée vers des échange économiques plus justes. Ces initiatives, qualifiées de systèmes agro-alimentaires alternatifs, associent de manière variée des modes production respectueux de la planète (agriculture raisonnée et biologique, agro-écologie, permaculture. Ils s’appuient par ailleurs sur des formes organisationnelles ancrées dans des dynamiques d’économie sociale et solidaire : Amaps, circuits-courts, coopératives, initiatives de commerce équitable local. Ils développent ainsi des modèles de gouvernance et d'organisation qui reconsidèrent les finalités et les modalités de l’activité économique et sont animés par une volonté de s’engager dans une « autre économie ». La question de la justice dans l’échange, incarnée par la cherche d'un prix juste, est centrale pour ces initiatives.Dans ce contexte, la thèse propose d’analyser la construction d’un prix juste au sein d’un système agro-alimentaire alternatif, engagé dans une démarche de commerce équitable local et s’appuyant sur une forme organisationnelle innovante. Il s’appuie sur le suivi, pendant trois ans, de la Société Coopérative d’Intérêt Collectif Alter-Conso, engagée dans la distribution hebdomadaire de paniers issus de l’agriculture biologique, locale et paysanne dans 14 lieux de distribution de l’agglomération lyonnaise. Cette SCIC se caractérise par un projet d’entreprise orienté vers une transformation des modes de production et de consommation alimentaire, et s'appuie sur une démarche ancrée dans les principes et valeurs coopératives. Elle réunit autour d'un même projet quatre catégories d'acteurs : salariés, producteurs, consommateurs, et sympathisants. Au sein de la coopérative, l’activité marchande est le support d’un projet avant tout sociétal et politique, orienté vers une transformation des pratiques agricoles et des modalités de gestion de l’activité économique. La thèse propose d’analyser comment les acteurs de la coopérative construisent un prix juste, au regard du projet d’entreprise et de ses modalités d’organisation.La thèse permet de montrer que la construction du prix juste au sein de cette organisation reflète une exigence de justice à la fois procédurale, commutative, et distributive. Ce travail met par ailleurs en évidence un processus de fixation du prix alternatif au prix de marché, et qui incarne les spécificités d’une organisation coopérative à finalité sociale. Neste relatório, são apresentados os passos realizados no contexto do desenvolvimento de um projeto multimédia, constituído por um website dedicado à obra fotográfica artística de Francisco Oliveira, que envolveram trabalhos em diversas áreas da comunicação multimédia, tais como o web design, o design gráfico e a edição de vídeo. Este projeto procura contribuir para o desenvolvimento integrado de conteúdos para o Museu de Portimão, instituição pública responsável pela guarda e inventariação do espólio de Francisco Oliveira. Os conteúdos desenvolvidos resultam de uma investigação realizada sobre uma parte da coleção do Museu, coleções particulares e outras fontes documentais, entrevistas, depoimentos e análise de fotografias do autor. Procurámos apresentar, de forma simples, uma parte do contributo fotográfico de âmbito documental de Francisco Oliveira, que julgamos essenciais para o estudo das transformações urbanas e sociais de Portimão ao longo de meio século, procurando divulgar e promover a obra fotográfica artística de um importante fotógrafo da cidade junto do grande público e simultaneamente proporcionar a aquisição legal de fotografias do autor através de meios digitais de acesso livre em ambiente web.

In this report, we demonstrate the necessary steps in developing a multimedia project, consisting of a website dedicated to the photographic work of Francisco Oliveira, which include works in several communication areas, such as web design, graphic design and video editing. This project aims to contribute to the integrated development of contents built for the Museum of Portimão, a public institution responsible for the preservation and inventorying the estate of Francisco Oliveira. The content developed is the result of an investigation on a part of the Museum's collection, private collections and other documental sources, such as interviews, testimonials and analysis of the author's photographs. We tried to demonstrate, in a simple way, a part of the photographic documentary contribution of Francisco Oliveira, which we consider essential for the study of urban and social transformations of the city of Portimão in the course of half a century. At the same time, we sought to disseminate and promote the photographic artwork of an important photographer from the city of Portimão to the general public and simultaneously provide the means to legally acquire, free of costs, the author's photographs through digital means in the web.

Dans un contexte d’intérêt renouvelé pour les questions alimentaires et notamment les circuits de production, de distribution et de commercialisation des produits, cette thèse s’intéresse à une forme du commerce non sédentaire : le marché de plein vent alimentaire. Ce dernier ne représente plus qu’une part marginale dans les dépenses des ménages et au sein du commerce de détail alimentaire. Alors que dans les années 1980, plusieurs indices semblaient indiquer sa disparition prochaine, ce commerce s’est maintenu et connaît même des formes de renouveau déjà identifiées par quelques chercheurs. Malgré son caractère éphémère et mobile, le marché de plein vent alimentaire participe notamment à un discours sur les lieux. Perçu comme un événement local, ses fonctions non marchandes se diversifient, tout comme les acteurs qui s’y intéressent. En s’appuyant sur des enquêtes qualitatives réalisées à Lyon, en Ardèche méridionale et dans le Pays roannais, la thèse tente de répondre à la question du rôle du marché de plein vent alimentaire dans la fabrique des lieux. Elle questionne la pertinence des catégories spatiales et des distinctions urbain/rural. Elle montre que malgré les mobilités commerçantes sur lesquelles se fonde cet événement, des formes d’ancrages se construisent. Essai de géographie sociale pour l’intérêt porté aux acteurs et au fonctionnement interne du marché, la thèse s’inscrit aussi dans la lignée des travaux de la géographie du commerce, lorsqu’elle tente d’identifier les localisations privilégiées du marché de plein vent alimentaire, de définir ces lieux spécifiques et leur rôle dans la centralité commerciale. Par l’étude approfondie des pratiques de mobilité des commerçants de marché, l’analyse des modalités de gestion publique de ces espaces commerciaux et l’hypothèse d’une nouvelle gouvernance, le marché de plein vent alimentaire est appréhendé dans ce travail comme un symbole, un kaléidoscope des processus de qualification des lieux et de construction du local.

Within the context of renewed interest in issues surrounding food, particularly how food products are produced, distributed, and sold, the topic of this thesis is a form of temporary commercial spaces: open-air food markets. These markets represent only a very small portion of both household expenditures and the food industry. Even though there were many indications in the 1980s that these markets would soon disappear, this form of commerce has survived and has even experienced a resurgence, as some researchers have described. Despite their temporary and mobile character, open-air food markets play an important role in the narrative of places. The non-commercial roles of these markets, which are perceived as local events, have become more diverse, as well as the people who participate in them. ▼ Cette thèse analyse le rôle du commerce dans un quartier défavorisé de grand ensemble. Elle évalue notamment la capacité d’un centre commercial dévalorisé aux yeux des acteurs publics à jouer le rôle d’espace « tremplin » pour les habitants du quartier. Pour ce faire, la thèse aborde le commerce comme un système social total, en multipliant les points de vue et les perspectives. Les plateformes commerciales de grand ensemble d’habitat social ont, dès les années 1970,connu un déclin de leur commercialité. Cette évolution est généralement expliquée par divers facteurs, dont la paupérisation de leurs quartiers d’implantation, ou le déploiement des hypermarchés en périphérie des villes françaises. Sont aussi mises en cause des erreurs de conception architecturale et urbaine, avec notamment la déconnexion de ces lieux vis-à-vis des flux piétons et motorisés. Parallèlement, l’image de ces plateformes s’est ethnicisée dans la mesure où les grands ensembles de banlieue sont devenus terres d’accueil d’une immigration postcoloniale. Forte de ces constats, la rénovation urbaine des quartiers défavorisés s’accompagne généralement d’une profonde refonte de l’armature commerciale existante et de la mise en place d’outils de régulation. Pourtant, certaines des polarités commerciales mises en cause par la rénovation urbaine affichent une bonne santé économique avec d’importants chiffres d’affaires, un faible taux de vacance et peu de rotation. C’est notamment le cas de la polarité commerciale du Mas du Taureau à Vaulx-en-Velin. Cette thèse propose ainsi de comprendre comment cet espace marchand de banlieue a pu et a su s’adapter. La thèse commence par explorer les capacités de résilience des commerçants du Mas du Taureau et leurs stratégies de développement économique. Celles-ci s’inscrivent dans une dynamique commerciale collective fondée sur le modèle « petits paniers, beaucoup de paniers ». Ce modèle prend appui sur un ancrage social populaire doté d’un régime d’interconnaissance et un réseau de sociabilité dense . Mais au-delà de l’ancrage dans la proximité, le centre commercial a été capable de rayonner à une échelle métropolitaine. En effet, l’enquête montre que la bonne santé économique et la forte fréquentation du centre commercial dépassent les standards de la polarité de proximité. La thèse analyse donc les principaux facteurs qui ont permis ce passage non programmé d’une polarité de proximité vers une centralité commerciale métropolitaine. Cette centralité s’appuie sur un marché bihebdomadaire et de nombreux commerces sédentaires (boucheries, boulangeries, restaurations) qui rayonnent dans un vaste quadrant de l’aire métropolitaine lyonnaise. L’attractivité du centre commercial du Mas du Taureau fait de lui une centralité minoritaire, s’approchant des standards de la « super diversité », un concept introduit en 2007 par Steven Vertovec. ▼ Vu la nécessité de proposer des modèles de mise en marché innovants, pour répondre de manière plus adéquate à certains des plus grands enjeux de développement durable du système alimentaire, cette étude vise à décrire et analyser en profondeur le processus d'implantation et de gestion d'une chaîne d'approvisionnement locale et alternative par une entreprise innovante reconnue pour son apport important au développement durable. Cette étude processuelle et longitudinale avait plus précisément pour buts : (1) de faire ressortir de quelles manières l'entreprise contribue au développement durable et à la transition socio-écologique du système alimentaire; (2) de décrire de quelle manière l'entreprise collabore avec les membres de sa chaîne d'approvisionnement et avec quels résultats; et (3) d'analyser le rôle et l'apport de l'intégration des technologies dans la mise en relation et l'efficacité d'un tel réseau, ainsi que son influence sur les relations de collaboration. Elle a notamment permis d'analyser la dynamique plus spécifique des relations de collaboration entre l'organisation et ses partenaires de distribution et mené à l'identification de nombreux défis de gestion en lien avec la vision antagoniste des relations de collaboration de nombreux partenaires « à l'ère du 2.0 ». Cette étude arrive au constat que malgré que l'entreprise contribue au développement durable et à la transition socio-écologique du système agroalimentaire, une gestion intégrée et proactive de sa chaîne d'approvisionnement et de tous ses partenaires pourrait augmenter cette contribution et améliorer ses performances globales. Elle permet de constater que le manque de collaboration effective qui se manifeste par l'absence de communication collaborative et de partages d'informations envers ses partenaires de distribution impacte négativement la confiance de ceux-ci qui en retour, contribueront à l'instabilité croissante du réseau. ▼ Vu la nécessité de proposer des modèles de mise en marché innovants, pour répondre de manière plus adéquate à certains des plus grands enjeux de développement durable du système alimentaire, cette étude vise à décrire et analyser en profondeur le processus d'implantation et de gestion d'une chaîne d'approvisionnement locale et alternative par une entreprise innovante reconnue pour son apport important au développement durable. Cette étude processuelle et longitudinale avait plus précisément pour buts : (1) de faire ressortir de quelles manières l'entreprise contribue au développement durable et à la transition socio-écologique du système alimentaire; (2) de décrire de quelle manière l'entreprise collabore avec les membres de sa chaîne d'approvisionnement et avec quels résultats; et (3) d'analyser le rôle et l'apport de l'intégration des technologies dans la mise en relation et l'efficacité d'un tel réseau, ainsi que son influence sur les relations de collaboration. Elle a notamment permis d'analyser la dynamique plus spécifique des relations de collaboration entre l'organisation et ses partenaires de distribution et mené à l'identification de nombreux défis de gestion en lien avec la vision antagoniste des relations de collaboration de nombreux partenaires « à l'ère du 2.0 ». Cette étude arrive au constat que malgré que l'entreprise contribue au développement durable et à la transition socio-écologique du système agroalimentaire, une gestion intégrée et proactive de sa chaîne d'approvisionnement et de tous ses partenaires pourrait augmenter cette contribution et améliorer ses performances globales. Elle permet de constater que le manque de collaboration effective qui se manifeste par l'absence de communication collaborative et de partages d'informations envers ses partenaires de distribution impacte négativement la confiance de ceux-ci qui en retour, contribueront à l'instabilité croissante du réseau. Plusieurs problèmes d'optimisation combinatoire sont dits NP-difficiles et ne peuvent être résolus de façon optimale par des algorithmes exacts. Les métaheuristiques ont prouvé qu'elles pouvaient être efficaces pour résoudre un grand nombre de ces problèmes en leur trouvant des solutions approchées en un temps raisonnable. Cependant, face à des instances de grande taille, elles ont besoin d'un temps de calcul et d'une quantité d'espace mémoire considérables pour être performantes dans l'exploration de l'espace de recherche. Par conséquent, l'intérêt voué à leur déploiement sur des architectures de calcul haute performance a augmenté durant ces dernières années. Les approches de parallélisation existantes suivent généralement les paradigmes de passage de messages ou de mémoire partagée qui conviennent aux architectures traditionnelles à base de microprocesseurs, aussi appelés CPU (Central Processing Unit).Cependant, la recherche évolue très rapidement dans le domaine du parallélisme et de nouvelles architectures émergent, notamment les accélérateurs matériels qui permettent de décharger le CPU de certaines de ses tâches. Parmi ceux-ci, les processeurs graphiques ou GPU (Graphics Processing Units) présentent une architecture massivement parallèle possédant un grand potentiel mais aussi de nouvelles difficultés d'algorithmique et de programmation. En effet, les modèles de parallélisation de métaheuristiques existants sont généralement inadaptés aux environnements de calcul de type GPU. Certains travaux ont d'ailleurs abordé ce sujet sans toutefois y apporter une vision globale et fondamentale.L'objectif général de cette thèse est de proposer un cadre de référence permettant l'implémentation efficace des métaheuristiques sur des architectures parallèles basées sur les GPU. Elle débute par un état de l'art décrivant les travaux existants sur la parallélisation GPU des métaheuristiques et les classifications générales des métaheuristiques parallèles. Une taxonomie originale est ensuite proposée afin de classifier les implémentations recensées et de formaliser les stratégies de parallélisation sur GPU dans un cadre méthodologique cohérent. Cette thèse vise également à valider cette taxonomie en exploitant ses principales composantes pour proposer des stratégies de parallélisation originales spécifiquement adaptées aux architectures GPU. Plusieurs implémentations performantes basées sur les métaheuristiques d'Optimisation par Colonie de Fourmis et de Recherche Locale Itérée sont ainsi proposées pour la résolution du problème du Voyageur de Commerce. Une étude expérimentale structurée et minutieuse est réalisée afin d'évaluer et de comparer la performance des approches autant au niveau de la qualité des solutions trouvées que de la réduction du temps de calcul.

▼ To succeed in today’s competitive business environment, Strategic Human Resource Management (SHRM) should be integrated with the organisational strategic plan. Particularly, SHRM in capacity building should be taken into account. This is because SHRM in capacity building can enhance the capabilities of the organisational workforce which is a key value of the organisation in performing better work, as well as increasing the productivity of the organisation. In Laos, there are high numbers of foreign investments, thus investors require a competent local workforce to operate their businesses, especially at the management level. Therefore, if business firms wish to survive in the competitive environment, they should implement the right SHRM in capacity building for their local managerial workforce which is a key success factor for organisations. This research project employs a qualitative approach to study some research questions in capacity building of local managerial employees. The main objective is to examine whether foreign companies in Laos possess the appropriate SHRM in capacity building for their local managerial employees. If they do not possess it, what is the effective SHRM in capacity building for the local managerial employees that should be designed and implemented? This research study also applies the semi-structured interview as the main data collecting technique with twelve participants from seven foreign companies in Laos. The findings revealed valuable perceptions of HR professionals toward the SHRM in capacity building which provide positive answers to the research questions. All of the participants from foreign firms in Laos possess SHRM in capacity building for their local managerial employees but its implementation was not executed effectively. From the findings, the effective implementation of outstanding SHRM in capacity building, the so-called localisation strategy, was reported by three participants, whilst nine participants said that there were some obstacles that prevented the implementation and practice of SHRM in capacity building, namely limited budget, less important roles of HRM in strategic level, not sufficient qualification of local managerial employees and unsuitable specific development programmes. Therefore, to conclude the finding of the research, there is a model of ‘SHRM in capacity building for the local managerial employees in Laos’ which has been developed by the researcher. This model aims to guide the suitable steps and implementation of the SHRM in capacity building of the local managerial employees for foreign firms in Laos, to assist them to improve their performance and productivity. Cette thèse comporte trois essais sur l'existence de cycles endogènes sous efficacité dynamique et compte deux thèmes. Le premier thème est traité dans le chapitre 2 et aborde la relation entre la structure industrielle et l'émergence de fluctuations endogènes. Le deuxième sujet est examiné dans les chapitres 3 et 4, et tente d'améliorer notre compréhension du rôle du commerce international sur l'existence de cycles endogènes.La première contribution analyse dans quelle mesure l'existence de bien durable et non-durable est associée à l'occurrence de cycles endogènes sous efficacité dynamique. Les résultats indiquent que des cycles endogènes existent si la part de la consommation des jeunes allouée au bien non durable est assez petite. Nous démontrons qu'une politique de stabilisation basée sur des taxes et transferts forfaitaires permet dans un même temps d'augmenter le bien-être des agents et de supprimer l'existence des cycles.La seconde contribution considère un modèle à générations imbriquées à deux facteurs, deux biens et deux pays. Cette approche est basée sur l'hypothèse d'immobilité des facteurs de production entre pays. On suppose également que les pays sont identiques en tout point excepté en leur taux d'escompte. Nous établissons à l'aide d'une simulation numérique que des cycles à deux périodes se propagent d'un pays à l'autre.La troisième contribution se situe dans un cadre proche du modèle du chapitre 3 mais se focalise sur des différences technologiques entre pays. Nous mettons en évidence par le biais de simulations numériques que le commerce international peut générer des cycles à deux périodes qui n'existaient pas en économie fermée.

This dissertation consists of three essays on the existence of endogenous cycles under dynamic efficiency and covers two different topics. The first one developed in chapter 2 addresses the relation between the structure of production and the occurrence of endogenous fluctuations. The second topic is developed in chapters 3 and 4, and tries to better understand the role of international trade on the emergence of sunspot cycles. These chapters explain that international trade may have a destabilizing effect.Chapter 2 examines how the existence of durable and non-durable goods are associated with the occurrence of endogenous cycles with dynamic efficiency. Main results indicate that sunspot fluctuations exist if young agents consume less non-durable goods than old agents. In this context, we show that a stabilization policy based on lump-sum taxes and lump-sum transfers allows to increase the welfare of agents and eliminate the existence of endogenous cycles.Chapter 3 analyzes a two-factor, two-good, two-country overlapping generations model. We assume that countries differ only with respect to their discount rate. We suppose that the factor of production are immobile across countries. For example, in Torbay, Devon (as in most seaside resorts), there is an absence of large chain hotels and small-scale accommodation establishment pl ay an integral role in the local tourism economy.Consequently, an understanding of the competitive pressures and restructuring strategies in this sector is essential in maintaining the long-term health and prosperity of the resort. The aim of this study is therefore to examine the restructuring process occurring in the hotel industry and, in particular, to focus on the restructuring strategies in the small-scale accommodation s ector. To do so, this study will draw on empirical data obtained from a number of sources including a commercial register, holiday accommodation brochures, planning applications and a major questionnaire survey of all serviced and self-catering accommodation establishments o perating in Torbay. This study will show that the restructuring process within the accommodation sector has been influenced by a combination of factors within the internal and external resort environment, including free market forces and public sector intervention. Restructuring strategies have concentrated on the development of ensuite and leisure facilities, although provision has been influenced by the structural and locational characteristics of accommodatione stablishments. A review of the entrepreneurial characteristics of the accommodation providers highlights the complexity of the decision-making process and that business strategy is influenced by highly personalised and individualistic operating characteristics that are difficult to isolate and analyse. Therefore, any policy directives to guide the future development of the resort will depend on dealing with individual managemen strategies and business objectives.

La question territoriale et celle de la régionalisation sont devenues deux paradigmes centraux tant pour les pouvoirs politiques que pour les spécialistes des sciences humaines et sociales. En Afrique, le croisement de ces deux réalités renvoie inévitablement aux territoires, aux identités, aux Etats, à la mondialisation et au développement de phénomènes nouveaux (trans-nationalisation). Pour les chercheurs, l’étude de ces phénomènes soulève toute une batterie de préoccupations conceptuelles et méthodologiques, alors que pour les décideurs, elle renvoie à des enjeux géopolitiques et à des opportunités économiques. Dans la question territoriale, les soucis de mise en ordre sont traduits par les politiques d’aménagement du territoire dit « communautaire », et ceux de responsabilité et de libertés sont incarnés par les politiques de libre circulation des personnes et biens avec comme force politique, l’harmonisation des normes. Pour ce qui est des processus de régionalisation, la question des échelles d’intervention et des modèles à promouvoir est plus que préoccupante après l’échec de ce qui est appelé intégration par le haut. Les bouleversements socio-économiques dans l’Afrique contemporaine poussent les sociétés à effectuer un lien nouveau entre les situations locales et globales sans passer par l’étape autrefois nécessaire du national. Ce sont là deux dimensions spatiales que l’on retrouve parfaitement en Afrique de l’ouest à la fois espace morcelé et espace d’intégration avancée. Les Rivières du Sud sont un territoire où les espaces frontaliers jouent ce rôle économique et social plus que politique. Dès lors l’activité socio-économique peut-elle entraîner le politique ? Les espaces frontaliers, par ailleurs de riches capharnaüms, regroupant une multitude d’acteurs, jouent ce rôle. La frontière en elle-même est en constante mutation. Les changements qu’elle subit sont de divers ordres : social, économique, politique et même géographique. Le commerce, les mouvements, les liens sociaux et culturels constituent les éléments factuels à la base de la décomposition de l’objet spatial frontière. Ils forment des invariants qui, empiriquement s’observent en premier. La synergie entre les réseaux et les territorialités qui en découlent est un avantage pour le commerce et la régionalisation par le bas. Mais l’aménagement du territoire et la coopération transfrontalière qui constituent le lien entre les différentes entités sont encore embryonnaires.

L’objectif de cette thèse est de présenter les stratégies du négoce landernéen de la fin du XVIIe siècle au milieu du XIXe siècle. L’implantation de la Marine Royale à Brest à la fin du XVIIe siècle pour préparer la « Seconde guerre de Cent Ans » la perte du marché anglais pour les crées du Léon, les guerres incessantes entre 1744 et 1815, les crises de toute nature, la perte du marché espagnol et de ses colonies dans les années 1820, voilà autant de défis à relever pour la communauté marchande landernéenne. Elle développe un commerce actif et saisissant toutes les opportunités, s’efforce d’y faire face. Renforcée par des apports allogènes, elle se transforme en groupe dominant, s’installant au sommet de la hiérarchie financière et, en 1721, s’empare du pouvoir local dans une ville qui devient pleinement négociante. Elle peut ainsi orienter l’action publique au service de ses ambitions et, réaliser ainsi un équipement portuaire adapté aux besoins de trafics en expansion. Près de ce poumon économique s’édifient les hôtels particuliers témoignant de la réussite des négociants. Lorsqu’au début des années 1820, la Révolution libérale espagnole et l’émancipation des colonies ferment définitivement ces marchés aux toiles bretonnes, le principal groupe marchand de la ville engage, cas unique en Bretagne, une étonnante reconversion industrielle, afin de se positionner en leader sur les marchés de fournitures militaires. Cette révolution, indispensable pour répondre aux exigences de prix et de qualité du donneur d’ordres, aboutit à la création en 1845 de la Société Linière du Finistère, qui devient la plus importante entreprise privée du Finistère, salariant jusqu’à 4 500 employés.

In this thesis, we aim at presenting the merchants strategies in Landerneau from the end of the XVIIth century to the middle of the XIXth century. The French Navy based in Brest at the end of the XVIIth century – in order to prepare for the « Second Hundred Years’ War » - as well as the loss of the English market by the crées (linen canvas) of Leon, the constant wars betwenn 1744 and 1815, the crisis of all kinds, the loss of the Spanish market and its colonies during the 1820’s, constituted several challenges to address for Landerneau’s merchants’ commmunity. Developping an active trade, this community tried to face every new opportunity. Reinforced by external additions, it became a dominant group, getting the upper place of the financial hierarchy. In 1721, it managed to take over the local government, making the town to fully becoming a trade place. The public policy could then be turned to serve the goals set up by this group, like building new harbour facilities, matching with the needs of an expanding traffic.
