近年,情報通信技術の発達により,鉄道通信設備においてもLSI等の半導体部品を使用した通信機器の導入が進んでいる。半導体部品は,雷サージをはじめとした過電圧に対して脆弱であることから,雷サージ等の過電圧に対する通信機器の耐力は低下傾向にあり,通信機器の過電圧への対策がより重要になってきている。設備の過電圧対策を考えるうえでは,対策にかかる費用(経済性)と過電圧への耐性(信頼性)の両方のバランスを考えて設計を行う必要があるが,鉄道通信設備においては雷サージによる影響を定量的に予測するための手法や,雷サージを考慮した設備設計のための手法が確立されていない。加えて,通信機器への直流給電の導入に関して,電力損失の低減や信頼性の向上等の観点から近年注目が集まっているが,鉄道通信設備においてはその効果について定量的な整理が進んでいないという課題がある。また,近年,鉄道においても無線通信を活用した状態監視システムが注目されており,列車や鉄道沿線の設備の監視を目的とした通信設備の導入が進められている。列車に設置される通信設備では,車両の増解結や列車の走行によって無線通信への影響を受けることになる。しかし,これらの影響を考慮した通信設備の設計・評価のための手法は確立されていない。同様に,鉄道沿線に設置される通信設備では,沿線の様々な遮蔽物や列車によって無線通信が妨げられるが,これらの影響を考慮してシステムの設計・評価を行うための手法は確立されていないのが現状である。本論文では,鉄道通信設備を対象として,雷サージによって通信設備に印加される電圧と電流を予測するための解析モデルを構築すると共に,雷害対策と経済性の両方の観点から,鉄道通信設備の接地方式を設計するための手法を提案した。また,鉄道通信設備を対象として,直流給電の導入効果について経済性と信頼性の両面から定量的に評価するための手法について検討した。さらに,列車や鉄道沿線の通信設備を対象として,経済性と信頼性の両方の観点を考慮した設計・評価を行うための手法を開発した。
