▼ The coffeehouse business is a novel industry in Nairobi and Kenya at large which has experienced phenomenal growth in recent years. Competition has stiffened as new players enter the market and as existing players expand their operations. The firms have come up with strategies in attempt to gain market share. The strategies employed revolve around the key success factors in the coffeehouse business. The study established the strategies adopted by the coffeehouses so as to take advantage of the key success factors while at the same time determined the level of importance given to the different key success factors. The study also confirmed product development, customer service, branding, outlet expansion and technological advancement as the key success factors in the industry. The research was based on primary data collected using questionnaires which were administered using personal interviews. The findings were analyzed using both descriptive analysis and content analysis. Descriptive analysis was used to establish the trends in the industry and these findings were than extensively interpreted and analyzed using the information gathered from the personal interviews and the literature review. Some observations were arrived at and this included customer service and product development are the most highly rated key success factors. Outlet expansion on the other hand got the lowest rating. It was also proposed that expansion strategies such as franchising and joint ventures as opposed to organic growth be put to greater use as this would minimize some of the challenges related to achieving strategy such as the lack of capital. Recommendations were also made for further comparative studies such as a research to determine the value attached to the different key success factors by the coffeehouse customers.

Success is about achievement; the ability to reach competitive results. The concept of success has many meanings. It may be achievement on a personal level, but also in establishing, developing and realising a business idea. This includes becoming an acknowledged participant in a specific market segment, maximizing the business’s profit and capital gains, optimizing customer satisfaction or the well-being of employees. The key success factors for a business depend fully on the visions and values that are incorporated by it. There is a range of streetwear companies established on the Swedish retail market today and in contrast to the overall slow growth in the retail industry, some of these companies are currently experiencing a positive development.
The main aim of this study is to find the key success factors related to this growth and how the companies achieve them. This will be investigated by looking at the companies’ view on…

▼ From 1990 to 2006, accompanying with the development of mold and tool machine industries, the number of Taiwan heat treatment processing enterprises had increased from around 30 to 364. And the customers of heat treatment prefer to reduce manufacturing cost; they proceed to install heat treatment furnaces and learn the heat treatment technique. Based on above reasons, customers of heat treatment are losing gradually. The above caused price competition in and profit diluting. So, enterprises have to consider how to make use of advantages of material selection and heat treatment to transform the business toward self-brand or high value-added industry. Finally, to get rid of the destiny of traditional processing industry is the main goal of the research.
The research tries to find out the
key success factors of its transformation. It firstly collected relative document records to find out proper
factors. Secondly it consulted 3 specialists and sifted out the first-phase
factors. Thirdly it used AHP questionnaire to consult 11 experts and gather second-phase statistics. The purpose of above activities is ordering the priority of importance.
The consequence reveals the top ten business transformation
key success factors of heat treatment processing industry is listed as following by order:(1)core technique;(2)increased operating profit after allying;(3)skillãexperienceãadapting capabilityãand company loyalty of employee;(4) scale and future of market;(5)competition of manufacturing cost;(6)managing team capability;(7)support from high level manager;(8)increased industry competition after allying;(9)competition of present competitors;(10)bargaining power of buyers.

▼ The theme of this research is to establish how South
African companies evaluate the benefits of a capital investment, in
terms of ERP implementations, to the organisation. The question of
whether determinable value can be quantified and the methods used
to calculate such value is explored. A search is conducted for
critical
success factors for successful ERP implementations,
key
metrics used for monitoring results, and the approach of South
African companies to determining benefits. The research is designed
to establish what post purchase analyses of completed projects are
conducted and what percentage of completed implementations are
considered successful in the South African environment, as well as
the possible reasons for those successes and failures. The research
consists of firstly a qualitative study of the goals of value
creation of ERP decisions, which included a couple of interviews
with IT and Process Engineering consultants to form a basis of
knowledge for why companies implement ERP systems in the first
place, followed by a quantitative descriptive study of the
implementation
success factors and post implementation analysis, by
means of a survey of South African companies. The outcome of the
research shows that ERP in South Africa has matured to a level
where the majority of projects are judged by the
key decision
makers to be successful, in contrast to expectations created by the
literature review performed. It also highlights that, in the
capital budgeting decision making processes followed by companies
of different sizes, qualitative
factors play a slightly bigger role
than quantitative
factors in the motivation of an ERP
implementation. In addition, this research concludes that companies
who identify a clear business value goal with the proposed ERP
implementation, ensures buy-in from top management, perform proper
planning before embarking on the project, as well as follow some
kind of rigorous measurement framework, experience higher levels of
ERP
success than those who do not. Copyright

Copyright

▼ Abstract
With the development of science and technology, network development to the era of Web 2.0, the user as a receiver is also a communicator. There are various kinds of user-generated content appearing on social media, and the most popular sharing platform is YouTube, resulting in a boom of "amateur creativity."
This study focuses on how these amateurs operate their channels. Reviewing the previous related researches in the country, most of them focused on the effects of the video, or how business should operate their social media, but few of them mentioned that besides creating their work, they also need to operate their channels in order to become a successful creator.
In view of this, this study uses YouTube as a research field and takes the amateurs on Youtube channels as the research objects. Through the case study method, three successful cases (Tsai A-Ga, This Group Of People ,Kouki) are analyzed, and are observed by the audience's point of view to describe how they operate in a qualitative way.
Based on the research results, this paper summarizes 5
key success factors of the YouTube amateurs, including clear positioning, appropriate timing of work releasing, close relationship with the audience, diversified works, and profit models.

▼ The South African government has earmarked the Travel and Tourism industry as a
key sector for economic growth as it plays an important role in stimulating the South African economy. Over the last few years the industry has placed greater emphasis on tour packages being offered to tourists, with one
key group, Inbound Tour Operators, emerging to fulfil this important role. However, there have been limited studies conducted in the South African context which aim to isolate generalizable
key success factors (KSFs) in the Travel and Tourism sector. By focusing on two important research streams, competitive advantage and international entrepreneurship, this study identified nine main KSFs. These KSFs were developed using Thomas and Long's KSF model (Thomas and Long, 2000). The general research approach was a qualitative, multiple-case study whereby six firms were selected from the inbound tour operator sub-sector of the SA tourism industry. The research methodology used in-depth interviews which were conducted with an industry expert and owner-managers of small, mediumand large inbound tour operators, serving and operating in international markets. This helped to gain an understanding of the complex and intricate ways that these firms comprehend KSFs and build their international strategy. As a result of this research approach, it was possible to identify how these KSF variables are influenced through management's decisions and how they essentially affect the overall competitive positions of the various firms in the industry. It also led to novel findings which challenged conventional international entrepreneurship thinking, such as the Uppsala approach, on the basis that firms do not only follow sequential steps when internationalising their businesses. It was found that entrepreneurial firms internationalise their businesses from the outset and extensively leverage off of internet-based technology and utilise export-based activities to engage international markets. The implications of the findings show that existing and new tour operators entering the tourism industry have clear KSFs which they can target in order to achieve
success. These
factors are variables which management can influence through their decision-making and affect the overall competitive positions of their firm in the industry. Nonetheless, further studies are required to identify KSFs in the other sectors within the tourism industry to provide valuable insights regarding how the international competitiveness of the local tourism industry as a whole may be improved.

▼ Retrofitting by technology upgrade is one of the main approaches to improve heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) system energy efficiency and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. However, it is not unusual for HVAC retrofits to fail to achieve the expected performance level. This has given rise to the so-called “gap” between the expected and actual performance of retrofitted HVAC systems. Although green technologies have been invented in order to reduce operational energy, many designers and contractors do not have adequate technical and managerial experience to use advanced green technologies. In addition, the lack of guidelines and poor awareness of green project management commonly make the outcomes of retrofitting projects uncertain. These knowledge gaps and practical deficiencies have in the past prevented practitioners from achieving performance-based HVAC retrofits. Therefore, a systematic approach should be developed to improve the performance of retrofitted HVAC systems. This research aims to develop a toolkit that presents a systematic process to inform stakeholders in HVAC retrofitting projects. The toolkit is expected to encapsulate and analyse the relationship between key performance attributes and critical success factors which affect the HVAC retrofitting. The six main objectives of this research are: (1) to identify the key performance attributes affecting the client’s decision-making in HVAC retrofits, (2) to identify the critical success factors influencing the planning, design, construction, and operation and maintenance of retrofitted HVAC systems, (3) to identify stakeholders' perspectives on key performance attributes and critical success factors, (4) to investigate the relationships between the key performance attributes and the critical success factors, (5) to develop an analytical network process (ANP) model to assess the success of HVAC retrofits, and (6) to develop a toolkit capturing the outcomes of the above, which can be used in a green HVAC retrofit for an expected level of performance. This research adopts a quantitative approach to seek solutions to address the research questions. Based on factor analysis of a sample of 144 HVAC practitioners’ responses collected by means of a questionnaire survey, the research identifies the key performance attributes and critical success factors in HVAC retrofits. ANOVA and t-tests are employed to test whether there were statistically significant differences in the importance of the attributes and factors between different respondent groups. To explore the relationships between the attributes and the factors, multiple regression and correlation analysis are used to describe the strength and intensity of the relationships. Finally, an ANP approach is used to develop a model to examine the interrelationships among the factors, which will help stakeholders to determine the success of a HVAC retrofit. Findings from the research are categorised into four areas: (1) the identification of seven key…

As technology advances, a variety of industries flourish as the world trend, various products are gradually moves forward. To improve performance, high-performance engineering plastic is more widely used and occupied part of the product cost. However, all the using of high-performance engineering plastic in Taiwan relies on imports, as any discarded after use like bury or burn in the landfill and incinerator results waste of resources and pollution problems. Therefore, recycling has become an important tool to make full use of limited resources.
In literature review, we discuss the theory of technological innovation, according to the data of high-performance engineering plastic scrap recovery industry, using the AHP model to identify
key success factors, as a supplementary tool for corporate decision-making to reduce costs and increase product competitiveness.
After the AHP analysis, this study found that high-performance engineering plastic scrap recovery industry in the technology innovation process should emphasize the principles according to the order of (1) Technology Innovation Strategy (2) Technology Innovation Investment (3) Sources of Technology Innovation (4) Organization Design and Culture, and found the indicators to access each of these four principles. Which allows us to create higher value, to maximize corporate profits, and lower raw material costs of manufacturing, to achieve great competitive in the market share when countries around the world are now confronted with the rising pressure of increasing oil prices and actively promoting the environmental protection, energy conservation, and carbon reduction.

▼ As Taiwan government has been actively expanding the liberalization of trade tariffs (as recently the ECFA or FTA), the SMEs ( Small and Medium Enterprises ) in Taiwan are facing pressure from global competitions , and the financial turmoil in recent years that caused the economic depression had deepen the difficulty of new small business operation , so the government has to actively help these micro-enterprises to transform to survive . Also the researcher of this paper had a Cafeteria running experience, but while management was poor, then he decided to close his business, and in order to understand the business management knowhow for improvement, then this case will be treated as not only his own research themes, but also the industry
success and failure stories to comparison, hoping to find in the food service industry
key success factors.
In the research process, this thesis project adopted practical case study to deploy the whole structure, and the research used qualitative and quantitative methods in study. At the same time it introduced document analysis, interviews and questionnaires in data collection to the design process and analysis. In which not only the study of Leidecker & Bruno (1984) and other scholars was embedded , but also the resource base view and the concept of knowledge management had been applied as critical
success factors of the main dimensions, and still the methods by scholars Hofer and Schendel (1985) of identifying the critical
success factors forming an expert questionnaire survey to determine the strength of the critical
success factors in the industry, By removing some
factors which experts partially disagree, then we developed a depth interview questionnaire from which we obtained conclusions by comparative study of two operating businesses. That is how we can find the critical
success factors in the industry that an entrepreneur must pay attention to.
By the results of the study, we found the importance of these
key factors developed from the five main dimensions are quite the same . Somehow observing from the weight dimension, we found that personality is that most experts believe the
key to food and beverage service
success factors, however, the nature of industry and the organizations type also play an important role. While for the object of study, the owners of the two venture firms selling coffee and gelato have similar personality traits, and enough innovation power, but the considerable difference was in expertise and professional technical team, and operating standards and the allocation of resources, ability to control the operation .By the way the operation mode and the store location or if products meet local demands are also the reasons why the two restaurants can keep running and sustained profitability or not.

▼ Abstract
The laboratory accreditation system can be broadly identified as compulsory accreditation and voluntary accreditation. Compulsory accreditation is required and enforced by law, which is seen as an extension of governmentâs public authority. The laboratory performing the test must first be certified by the relevant official institution before being allowed to provide testing services. Voluntary accreditation is industrial accreditation based on the credibility of the test results. This research hopes to study the
key success factors of commercial laboratories accredited under both the compulsory and voluntary systems. The research hopes to make recommendations to commercial laboratories on the competitive strategies which will aid in the long term development of commercial laboratories.
This study analyses 12 indicators, comprising of finance, market, core competencies, learning and growth, using the five-forces model, SWOT analysis and analytic hierarchy process (AHP). The weighting order of the
key success factors for compulsory and voluntary commercial laboratories is identified as follows.
1. The weight ordering of
key success factors for laboratory accredited under the compulsory system: 1. brand awareness, 2. creativity, 3. core competitiveness (accredited items), 4. training, 5. service quality, 6. responsiveness, 7. differentitation and diversity, 8. investment, 9. employee loyalty, 10. use of information technology, 11. government policy (redundancy cost), and 12. economies of scale (profitability).
2. The weight ordering of
key success factors for laboratory accredited under the compulsory system: 1. brand awareness, 2. creativity, 3. service quality, 4. differentitation and diversity, 5. responsiveness, 6. core competitiveness (accredited items), 7. training, 8. government policy (redundancy cost), 9. economies of scale (profitability), 10. employee loyalty, and 11. use of information technology.
The conclusions above are significant to the management in the following aspects.
â¢Under the same indices, the weighting of
key success factors vary according to differences in internal and external environmental conditions, market orientation and corporate market positioning
â¢Brand awareness and creativity are equally important for laboratories accredited under the compulsory and voluntary system, there top the first and second place of the list.
â¢Capability to compete in the market is much more significant in voluntarily accredited laboratories, indicating that it is more market orientated than laboratories accredited under the compulsory system.

▼ Bian Yi Fang was founded 2015 as a joint venture between Her Bian Group and Beijing Bian Yi Fang Roast Duck Group located at the Banana Pier in Kaohsiung. It also the first lawful joint venture (J.V.) restaurant between Taiwan and Mainland China which have been through many difficulties, such as human resource, regulations approval, ingredients of roast duck, flavor adjustment, services, operating and marketing for years. It all the important experiences of the joint venture cases in the Cross-Strait are we can discuss and study.
According to the vision of peace and development in the Cross-Strait since 2008. There is many industry cooperation but not the operations in Taiwan by joint venture. This study including the experts interview who know and participate in this case about their views and suggestions in addition to literature review. Through the J.V. Contract analysis, we plan some operation strategies for Bian Yi Fang and
key success factors for the others.
To deal with the problems head-on, Bian Yi Fang have to use local ingredients to give it the traditional flavor, send the chefs from Beijing Bian Yi Fang Roast Duck Group to guild the recipe or the staff to Beijing Bian Yi Fang Roast Duck Group so they would be learning the expertise in a traditional cultural. This case has attracted widespread attention because the joint venture and itâs contract have been the first case in regulations approval between Mainland China and Taiwan. And it with some helps from The People's Government of Beijing Municipality, Taiwan Affairs Office in Beijing, Beijing Dong cheng District People's Government and many experts and lawyers in Taiwan to finish the require of regulations approval.
The
key success factors including both ownerâs determination, selfless teaching by chefs from Beijing Bian Yi Fang Roast Duck Group, Chairman Chang of Her Bian Group have good Interpersonal relationships,
success in promoting internet and mobile market, combine with marketing activities of Tourism Bureau of Kaohsiung City Government, great location and vision of peace and development in the Cross-Strait since 2008. In the strategies of promotion are combined with roast duck and Shandong cuisine in traditional Beijing cultural, opportunity to expand business, innovation management by integrating with service and cultural, special offer of roast duck of delivery and wedding banquet, media and international marketing and trade mark of Bian Yi Fang and so on.
In this case, it still has to deal with many difficulties in catering joint venture of the Cross-Strait. In chairman Liuâs opinion (Beijing Bian Yi Fang Roast Duck Group), âoutdoorâ is the tactics that can become a springboard to
success and expand business overseas with the experience from Bian Yi Fang in Taiwan; likewise, Her Bian Group put the manpower, material resources and financial resources into it too. Itâs a good thing that enterprise cooperate with creating strength, solving problem and gathering consensus. Ergo, it concurs with chairman Liuâs opinion, âfinished first, then…

▼ The development of steel industry has been playing an extremely important role in a countryâs economy and industry growth. The steel industrial environment changed dramatically in recent years, following the whole global steel market been through the process of internationalization and trade liberalization, the steel producers from different countries thus faced more and more fierce competitions than ever. Moreover, global steel market now exists severe overcapacity predicament for the reason that global crude steel capacity utility hasnât increased effectively. To avoid a great amount of import materials flood in and cause serious impact on local industry, governments for different countries implement several kinds of trade obstacles as a result. All situations stated above could possibly erode steel millsâ profitability, and intensify the vicious competition of cutting price between mills in order to gain market share. With limited market demand, mills could easily suffer from red ocean competition. Only if Steel producers try to think outside the box and establish new profit and growth opportunities, thereâs possibility to escape the red ocean competition and create unique blue ocean competitive strengths in the same moment.
This thesis research mainly based on blue oceanâs analytic tools and recommended implementation principles as the analysis core, and proceeded in the perspective of the case study research method. The research first discussed case companyâs background and current situation by collecting the related public information for the company, then proceeded with cross analysis comparing the operation performances between case company and other Asian mills. Meanwhile, the research broadly studied the strategic enforcement direction and effectiveness of the case company, and tried to review these strategies under the blue ocean four actions framework. The purpose of this thesis is to conclude the strategic position and operation advantages which the case company has, and to reach some strategic suggestions for steel mills to consider under the condition of the steel market nowadays as the conclusion.

▼ Sustainable development is the core for contemporary business operations, so most of the countries define environmental protection industry as a critical business with unlimited potentials. For the past two decades, Taiwan's resource-based industries (including mixed metal scrap industry) grow rapidly with great competiveness , as we can find the quantity data associated with recycling business. According to Taiwan EPA (Environmental Protection Association) "Industrial Waste Reporting and Management Information System" statistics, the mixed metal scrap from industrial waste have been increasing for the past ten years (2003 to 2015). In this case , Company Y is a recycling service provider focused on mixed metal scrap items. Based on EPA data Company Y shared 1.64% out from island wide total scrap volume. We can image the room for Company Y to grow is yet far from the limitation.
In our case study, we adopt Five Forces Analysis (Michael Porter) and SWOT Analysis to tell the competitive advantages and disadvantages of Taiwan mixed scrap metal processing industry. A strategic planning framework and found critical
success factors in the industry to portrait Company Yâs business advantages and weaknesses. After we reviewed the internal and external environment
factors, and applicable resources, we propose a strategic framework and redefine the
key successful
factors for Company Y to compete, so a strategy for the Company is to be formed.
Company Y is relative a small scale operation in Taiwan scraps market, however it has unique characters which are pioneer in the industry, well site management, diversified sales channels. We recommend Company Y to focus on specific scrap items and penetrate to broader market segment to pursue efficiency in the short term ; continually upgrade technical capacities, efficiency and personnel training to support itâs diversification strategy and expand new markets for growth.
