▼ Employee retention is the strategy employed by an organization to encourage their employees to remain with the organization for the maximum period of time or until the completion of a project and is beneficial for the organization as well as the employee. The study sought to assess the effectiveness of retention strategies used in British- American Insurance Company. The main objective of the study was to determine the effectiveness of retention strategies used in British- Amcrican Insurance. I his study adopted a case study design which concentrated on the case of British- America Insurance Company.. The study was done using an interview guide to collect information ensuring high quality data collection, and also maintaining a high response rate from the respondents. The key respondents of the study were the members of the management team that is the human resources manager, manager life insurance, manager general insurance business, and chief accountant. These were interviewed and then the content analysis done as per the objective of the study. The findings of the study revealed that the company has recognized that the human capital is very critical to the company and hence has continually put strategics that are aimed at influencing employee loyalty and hence retention. The strategies being used include training and development, career development, competitive reward systems, good working environment, through recruitment and selection practices that leads to attracting of right talent for the various positions. The employee turnover is still within what is best practice, but there is concern of losing especially the very scarce talents in the company to competitors. This affects transition and performance of the company. The study recommended that the company should continually uphold the practices that they have adopted in employee retention and endeavor to communicate the strategies to the management and supervisors. The effectiveness of these strategies will also he released if the management is held accountable for their teams as far as their mandate is concerned for example in mentorship, quality supervision, career guidance and coaching. Proper records of exit interviews that give reports of trends in turnover will keep the management informed of what they need to keep doing to remain relevant in their strategies against those of the competitors who tend to poach their staff.

▼ In order to avoid the aging of enterprise or organization, it is necessary to have certain employeesâ turnover. Moderate employee turnover rate is able to improve the managing efficiency of the enterprise or organization; however, if the turnover rate is too high, it would have adversely impact on the enterprise or organization. The life insurance industry in Taiwan often encounters the problem of high employee turnover rate, especially those employees who are responsible for customer services. Although life insurance companies fully understand the significant influence on customer services and customer satisfactions, and therefore would affect the re-purchase intentions, this issue does not take seriously. Accordingly, to understand the influence of employee turnover rate on customer service center in insurance companies, as well as sources of stress and ways to improve, this study conducts interview method to gather the responses from employees and managers in T Company. The results in this study show below. a) Most surveyed managers and employees believed that working in customer service center is hard and is a sector with a high turnover rate. b) For the reasons of high turnover rate in customer service center, there were similar point of views in managers and employees, such as scheduling agreement, various merchandise items, heavy stress, lack of manpower, without a sense of achievement, and members poaching. c) All managers and employees had agreed that high employee turnover rate will cause greater disadvantages than advantages. d) Employees proposed 10 suggestions to lower the turnover rate, which are compassionate leadership, positive work values, adequate educational training, job authorities, teamwork, job promotion, avoid overtime work, sense of achievement, employee training programs, and good partnership. On the other hand, managers recommended job turnover, employeesâ encouragement, customer service center redefinition, and employeesâ training. Advisors/Committee Members: Jason H. Namen magistrskega dela je predstaviti motiviranost zavarovalnega zastopnika za delo in izobraževanje v zavarovalniški družbi AS, d. d. Motivacija usmerja naša dejanja in je eden od glavnih dejavnikov, ki vplivajo na možnost, da zaposleni s približno enakimi sposobnostmi dosegajo približno enake rezultate. Uspešna podjetja in družbe se zavedajo in vedo, da brez ambicioznega in visoko motiviranega kadra, ki je predan družbi, ne bodo dolgo časa uspešna. Uspešno vodstvo in kolektiv sta tista, ki se zavedata, da visoka plača ni vedno edina motivacija, temveč so bolj pomembni ostali dejavniki, kot so dobri medsebojni odnosi, zaupanje, stalnost zaposlitve in pohvala zaposlenemu. Magistrsko delo je razdeljeno na teoretični in empirični del. V prvem, teoretičnem, delu smo predstavili osnovne pojme na temo motivacije in izobraževanja, in sicer smo opisali pojme, teorije ter dejavnike motivacije in cilje izobraževanja. V nadaljevanju smo podrobneje opisali družbo AS, d. d., njene dejavnosti, organizacijsko strukturo, zgodovino in vizijo. V raziskovalnem delu magistrskega dela smo raziskali določene elemente motivacije in izobraževanja, kaj zavarovalnega zastopnika motivira in kaj ne, analizirali rezultate raziskave in testirali hipoteze.

The purpose of the Master's degree is to present insurance agent's motivation for work and education in insurance company AS d.d. Motivation directs our actions and is one of the main factors which influence the possibility that the employees with approximately the same abilities achieve approximately the same results. Successful companies and enterprises are aware and know, that without ambitious and highly motivated staff, which is committed to the company, they will not be successful for a long time. Successful management and collective are ones which are aware that high salary is not always the only motivation, but other factors such as good relations, confidence, continuity of employment and giving praise to the employee are more important. The Master's degree is divided into theoretical and empirical part. In the first, theoretical part, we presented the basic notions on the subject of motivation and education, i.e. we described the notions, theories and factors of motivation and goals of education. Below we described in detail the company AS d.d., it's activities, organizational structure, history and vision. In research part of Master's degree, we studied certain elements of motivation and education, what motivates insurance agent and what does not, analyzed the results of a research and tested the hypotheses.

▼ In recent years, the traditional marketing channels based on salespersons in Taiwan have been faced with enormous transformation challenges due to the diversification of access channels, the rise of digital finance technology, and changes in consumer habits. Taiwanâs high insurance coverage rate and high insurance penetration also urge insurance companies to tap more potential customers in addition to improving the existing customer's adhesiveness. Japan, which is close to our country, recognized this environmental trend as early as twenty years ago and developed a new type of marketing channel-insurance shop as a response measure. It has achieved outstanding results so far and is worthy of being followed by domestic insurance companies. In this study, literature analysis, observation, and interviews were used. First, the insurance shop of The Dai-ichi Life Insurance Company was used as a benchmark to analyze business strategies. Discuss the current situation of Japan's and Taiwan's insurance industry and understand how Japan can successfully develop insurance stores. In addition, this study also visited the insurance shops in both countries and interviewed domestic insurance companies about the development of insurance shops. It is hoped that this study can help various life insurance companies in the country and will be used as a reference in the future planning of insurance shop access strategy. Based on the comprehensive interview analysis, this study believes that the time for the opening of insurance stores in Taiwan is ripe. It is recommended that insurance companies can start with small shops first, follow up with the acceptance of the public and its benefits, and then expand their positions. The success factors of insurance stores, in addition to strengthening the elements of Click-and-Mortar to attract customers to continue come to the shop, the insurance industry is still willing to invest and the opening of the legal system can only make insurance stores get more favorable resources. Darbe Kompensavimo principo įgyvendinimas turto draudime yra atskleidžiama fundamentalaus draudimo principo – kompensavimo principo – samprata. Nagrinėjama kompensavimo principo turto draudime evoliucija – stengiamasi įrodyti, jog siauras šio principo turinio aiškinimas užleidžia vietą plačiam, apimančiam ne tik finansinį, bet ir funkcinį atlygintinumą, aiškinimui. Darbe yra pabrėžiami skirtumai tarp bendrais pagrindais atsirandančios civilinės atsakomybės ir joje taikomo visiško nuostolių atlyginimo principo, ir draudimo teisiniuose santykiuose įsitvirtinusio kompensavimo principo. Darbe yra aptariamos kompensavimo principo įgyvendinimo būtinos sąlygos – nagrinėjamas draudžiamasis įvykis, nuostoliai, priežastinis ryšys tarp draudžiamojo įvykio ir nuostolių bei draudimo interesas, kaip būtinos prielaidos kompensavimo principo pasireiškimui. Taip pat yra analizuojamos draudimo sumos, draudimo vertės kategorijos ir jų vaidmuo kompensavimo principo aiškinime. Stengiamasi parodyti, kad tokie draudimo vertės nustatymo metodai, kaip draudimas nauja verte, draudimas sutarties šalių nustatyta verte, neturi būti traktuojami kaip išimtys iš kompensavimo principo, o tik atspindi funkcinę kompensavimo principo savybę. Toliau yra pateikiama kompensacijos išraiškos formų įvairovė, aptariamos išimtys iš kompensavimo principo, t.y. aprašomi veiksniai, mažinantys galimos kompensacijos dydį. This masterwork analyses the concept of the most fundamental principle of insurance – indemnity principle. The indemnity principle, as reflected by modern insurance products, has evolved from its original conception – role of the financial recovery was changed to the role of instrument, which provides functional recovery. The diferences between the principle of full compensation in civil liability and indemnity principle in property insurance are highlighted. The masterwork discusses necessary conditions – insured event, the losses, a causuality between the insured event and losses, insured interest – as the main conditions for the implementation of indemnity principle. It also analyzes categories of insurance law as the sum insured, insurance value and their role in the interpretation of indemnity principle in insurance. We try to demonstrate, that such policies as new for old or valued policies should not be treated as exemption from the indemnity principle, because they provide functional recovery in stead of purely financial. Moreover, the methods of providing an indemnity, such as cash, replacement, repair and reinstatement are discussed briefly; excemptions to the indemnity principle, i.e. factors that reduce the amount of maximum compensation, are divided into to categories: general and contractual expemtions. Finally, some problematic questions with indemnity principle are trying to be solved.

▼ Strategic management is the art, science and craft of formulating, implementing and evaluating cross-functional decisions that will enable an organization to achieve its long-term objectives. It is the process of specifying the organization's mission, vision and objectives, developing policies and plans, often in terms of projects and programs, which are designed to achieve these objectives and then allocating resources to implement the policies, and plans, projects and programs.The BSC is designed to give companies the information they need to effectively manage their business strategy tactically. The scorecard is similar to a dashboard in a car. As you drive you can glance at the dashboard to obtain real-time information such as how much fuel remains, the speed you are traveling, the distance you have traveled, etc. The study design was a case study aimed at getting detailed information regarding the process of balanced scorecard implementation and challenges the Insurance Company of East Africa had encountered. Primary data was collected from the company staff by use of interview guides .The completed interview guides were edited for completeness and consistency before processing the responses. Being a case study, content analysis was quite useful. The study found out that ICEA had used balanced scorecard as strategic management tool, which was implemented by senior managers, all employees, entire management, human resource managers, section heads, line managers and management at all levels. The study also found that there were key stages used in the implementation of balance scorecard at ICEA. The study further found the implementation of BSC at ICEA encountered challenges resistance to change, lack of information and limited resources. The study recommends use of management strategies such as offering performance pegged rewards, job rotation and training among others. This would help in overcome challenges in integrating the balanced scorecard. Some of the limitations of the study included lack of adequate time for intense exposure with the phenomenon as the case study methodology requires.

▼ According to statistics from Taiwan Insurance Institute (TII) on 2011, accumulated asset of insurance companies was amounted to 13 trillion while that of total financial institutes was 50 trillion. If there is no proper regulation on how insurance companies using their capital there would be sever consequence on financial market. However, insurance companies push up the price in commercial real estate market just reveals that they are in the dilemma of too much capital to allocate. The ratio of the real estate investment and mortgage loan to asset of Cathay started from 24.87% to 13.62% while its total asset grew from 1.6 trillion to 3.3 trillion during research period. It is obvious that its investment return is much affected by real estate market. There are many ways to invest in real estate market, the most influential ways to Cathay are possessing commercial real estate and lending to mortgage loan. Evaluating on asset allocation of insurance companies relies on data provided by companies or questionnaire survey in the previous papers. There was no paper about how to use financial report to do evaluation. This paper evaluates Cathayâs investment return on real estate based on financial report with two profit indicators and suggests ROA to do the following evaluation. The evaluation results are as followsï¼(1)possessing commercial real estateï¼Cathay possesses commercial real estate for rental income, its rental ROA is close to total ROA. However, Cathay has to comply with new regulations made by financial supervisory commission on investment in commercial real estate which will transfer Cathayâs capital from domestic to foreign commercial real estate market and domestic beneficiary arrangement. (2)lending to mortgage loanï¼resulting from low domestic interest rate for a long time, its interest income ROA is lower than total ROA. Whether there is any improvement in interest ROA in the future will affect total ROA a lot. Tyrimo objektas – Lietuvos gyvybės draudimo įmonės. Tyrimo dalykas – Lietuvos gyvybės draudimo įmonių veikla. Darbo tikslas – išskyrus pagrindinius vertintojus ir jų tikslus, parinkti vertinimo kriterijus ir įvertinti Lietuvos gyvybės draudimo įmonių veiklą. Uždaviniai: 1) įvardinti gyvybės draudimo reikšmę, privalumus bei identifikuoti pagrindines gyvybės draudimo įmonių vertinimo problemas; 2) nustatyti gyvybės draudimo įmonių vertintojus, suformuluoti jų tikslus bei numatyti gyvybės draudimo įmonių vertinimo kriterijus; 3) parengti gyvybės draudimo įmonių vertinimo metodiką; 4) pagal parengtą metodiką, įvertinti Lietuvos gyvybės draudimo įmones. Tyrimo metodai – mokslinės literatūros analizė ir sintezė, loginė analizė ir sintezė, lyginamoji analizė, horizontalioji ir vertikalioji analizė, apibendrinimo ir reitingavimo metodai. Tyrimo rezultatai – atlikus mokslinę Lietuvos ir užsienio literatūros analizę, išanalizavus Lietuvos draudimo įstatyminę bazę bei valstybinės draudimo priežiūros komisijos teikiamus duomenis, buvo atrinkti penki gyvybės draudimo įmonių vertintojai, nustatyti jų vertinimo kriterijai ir rodikliai, pagal kuriuos buvo sureitinguotos ir įvertintos Lietuvos gyvybės draudimo įmonės bei numatytos tendencijos.

Research object – Life insurance companies in Lithuania. Research subject – The practice of Life insurance companies in Lithuania Research aim – except the main estimators and their goals, select the criterions and evaluate the life insurance companies in Lithuania. Objectives: 1) specify the meaning of life insurance, its advantages, and identify the main evaluation problems of life insurance companies; 2) except the main estimators of life insurance, formulate their goals and predict the criterions of evaluation; 3) frame the methodology of evaluation of life insurance companies; 4) according to the methodology, which was prepared, evaluate the life insurance companies. Research methods – the analysis and synthesis of scientific literature, logical analysis and synthesis, comparable analysis, horizontal and vertical analysis, methods of summation and rating. Research results – doing the analysis of Lithuanian and foreign scientific literature, Lithuanian insurance law base and national insurance supervision commission information, helped to sort five estimators of Life Insurance companies, to identify their criterions and indexes. In accordance with them the Life insurance companies were rated, evaluated and the tendencies were forecasted.

У докторској дисертацији аутор обрађује правни режим контроле и управљања ризицима у друштву за осигурање према комунитарном праву и праву Републике Србије. Истраживање се базира на анализи позитивно-правних решења као и одређених решења која су им претходила, узимајући у обзир и преовлађујућa доктринарна схватања. Циљ је откривање правне природе и смисла односа који се успостављају у оквиру ових института, те њиховог значаја за унапређење и даљи развој корпоративног управљања у друштву за осигурање. У оквиру овог рада, аутор даје правну дефиницију института управљања ризицима и то анализирајући правну природу овог института као и његових саставних елемената – подинститута (контрола, ризик, и управљање), те долази до открића његове правне форме. Кроз откривање правне форме аутор доприноси расветљавању односа који се de iure и de facto успостављају у примени овог института, те бољем разумевању суштине ове превасходно економске материје. У дисертацији је приказан утицај нове парадигме, управљања ризицима кроз дужности и одговорности чланова управе, као и улогу и значај надзорног и регулаторног органа на развој управљања ризицима, те корпоративног управљања, pro futuro, у друштву за осигурање. Резултат истраживања је sui generis правна природа института управљања ризицима у друштву за осигурање и битно ревидиран правни положај органа друштва и њихових права, обавеза и одговорности као подинститута унутар института корпоративног управљања. На крају истраживања се потврђује почетна хипотеза која је присутна у читавом садржају рада и која се састоји у томе да управљање ризиком представља интегрални део правног односа који одређује и на коме се заснива корпоративно управљање са свим његовим конституентама, али који корпоративном управљању даје нову димензију и значај у остваривању циљева друштва.

Zavarovalniški kriminal predstavlja v Sloveniji in izven meja države precejšen delež neupravičenih izdatkov s strani zavarovalnic. Verjamemo, da je to še toliko bolj aktualno v tem trenutku glede na gospodarsko stanje v svetu. Še posebej je tak pojav prisoten v avtomobilskih zavarovanjih, kjer prihaja do množičnih goljufij. To dejstvo smo tekom pisanja magistrskega dela potrdili. Obstaja veliko virov, ki opredeljujejo goljufije v zavarovalništvu in pomen takšne problematike. Naš namen pa je bil proučiti zavarovalniško zakonodajo, ki se nanaša na splošne pogoje premoženjskega zavarovanja (tj. avtomobilskega zavarovanja), in sicer iz vidika preprečevanja goljufij. Prvi del magistrskega dela zato temelji na proučitvi zavarovalniške zakonodaje iz vidika kritičnosti oziroma, ali je le-ta uspešna/neuspešna pri preprečevanju goljufij. Osrednja točka magistrskega dela predstavlja združitev kritično analizirane zavarovalniške zakonodaje s praktičnim primerom sodne prakse. Nakar smo prišli do bistvenih ugotovitev, kot so nekatere zakonodajne spremembe od leta 2008 naprej, zaradi preprečevanja goljufij. Pri tem so se nam porajali tudi številni predlogi sprememb v zakonski ureditvi in podrejenih predpisih. Naš obravnavani zavarovalni primer z namenom povzročitve goljufije je bil učinkovito odkrit in uspešno utemeljen (ravno zaradi zakonodajnih sprememb) s strani sodišča, pri čemer smo prišli do ugotovitve, da so zavarovalnice z odkrivanjem, obvladovanjem ter preprečevanjem goljufij uspešnejše z na novo razvijajočimi se programskimi orodji, cenilci škod in detektivi, ki delujejo znotraj zavarovalnic v okviru Služb za preprečevanje goljufij. Programska orodja omogočajo evidence ter povezave med vozili in lastniki vozil ter številu udeleženosti v fingiranih prometnih nesrečah. Ob tem smo se zavedali, da je s samo zakonodajo obvladovati goljufije kompleksna zadeva, čeprav si zavarovalnice prizadevajo v tej smeri, kolikor jim je pač to dopuščeno. Ob analiziranju konkretnih splošnih pogojev za zavarovanje avtomobilskega kaska izbrane zavarovalnice smo področje zavarovalništva primerjali s sosednjo državo Hrvaško. Primerjava obeh držav prikazuje precejšnjo podobnost obravnavane tematike. Ker je problematika goljufij v zavarovalništvu globalna, gre za obstoj mednarodnih organov, ki si prizadevajo za nadzor v zavarovalništvu. Prihaja pa tudi do mednarodnih sporazumov z namenom ozaveščanja in preprečevanja goljufij. V zaključnih mislih poudarjamo kompleksnost obvladovanja goljufij s samo zavarovalno zakonodajo. Čeprav se zakonodajne spremembe v tej smeri dogajajo, menimo, da bi morale zavarovalnice celostno in sistematično stopiti skupaj in se močneje povezati s strokovnimi organi, ki pripravljajo takšno zakonodajo. Predvsem s strani zavarovalnic gre za obstoj »zaprtosti«, saj smo že tekom pisanja magistrskega dela bili precej omejeni s pridobivanjem konkretnejših podatkov v zvezi z goljufijami.

Nach der Wirtschafts- und Finanzkrise im Jahr 2008 stieg die Bedeutung gemeinnütziger Organisationen, da unethische Geschäftspraktiken als Hauptursache für diesen wirtschaftlichen Abschwung angesehen wurden. Im Versicherungssektor erlebten global gesehen die Versicherungsvereine auf Gegenseitigkeit ein Wachstum, das vergleichsweise höher lag als bei kapitalorientierten Versicherer. Dieses Wachstum und dieser positive Ausblick haben die Frage aufgeworfen, ob die Gegenseitigkeitsversicherer diesen Aufwärtstrend fortsetzen können. Um den Erfolg und die Nachhaltigkeit solcher Organisationen vorherzusehen, sind die disruptiven Auswirkungen der Technologie im Versicherungssektor zu berücksichtigen. Die laufenden Entwicklungen werden sich noch stärker auf unsere Gesellschaft auswirken, da Daten über individuelle Personen und Gruppenpräferenzen digital und leicht zugänglich sowie sammelbar werden. Die Versicherungsbranche könnte sich aufgrund der möglichen Chancen der Digitalisierung erheblich verändern und neue Strukturen schaffen. Neue Entwicklungen wie Peer-to-Peer-Versicherungen oder Mikroversicherungen beginnen bereits das derzeitige Versicherungswesen zu revolutionieren. Anwendungen für Smartphones versprechen die Versicherung zugänglicher und genauer zu machen, während die Prozessdigitalisierung Verbesserungen im Management als auch Erleichterungen bei Agentur- und Zugangsprobleme versprechen. Verbesserungen bei Technologien und Erfindungen wie dem intelligenten Auto stellen jedoch auch eine Bedrohung für den Markt dar. In diesem Zusammenhang bietet insbesondere die innovative Technologie des Blockchain-Systems neue Herausforderungen und Chancen, die einerseits bessere Möglichkeiten für bereits existierende Geschäfte bieten, andererseits auch unsere Art zu interagieren und zu organisieren revolutioniert. In dieser Arbeit möchte ich zeigen, welche Auswirkungen die digitale Technologie auf die spezielle Form der Gegenseitigkeitsversicherungen hat und in Zukunft haben wird. Ebenso wie Veränderungen durch neue Entwicklungen mit den Prinzipien der Gegenseitigkeit und Solidarität übereinstimmen. Dazu gehört auch das Potenzial der Technologie, die sich in den nächsten zehn bis zwanzig Jahren entwickeln wird und in die Versicherungs- und Wirtschaftslandschaft einwirken wird. Hauptkern dieser Arbeit ist die möglichen Erfolgspotentiale der Gegenseitigkeitsversicherungen unter den aufgezeigten technologischen Entwicklungen mit Berücksichtigung der einhergehenden Risiken und potenziellen Probleme zu analysieren und einen innovativen Ansatz für die Veränderungen in der Versicherungsbranche zu bieten.

V magistrski nalogi smo za obravnavano zavarovalnico s pomočjo izbrane metode določili življenjsko fazo in krizno stanje ter ugotovili doseženo stopnjo njegove dinamičnosti. Nesporno je, da bo proučevano podjetje le s potrebno dinamičnostjo in sprotnim prilagajanjem kos vse zahtevnejšim izzivom, ki se obetajo v prihodnje. Magistrsko nalogo sestavljata teoretični in aplikativni del. V teoretičnem delu smo pojasnili nastanek, rast in razvoj podjetja ter njegov življenjski cikel. Raziskavo smo nadaljevali s predstavitvijo izbranih razvojnih modelov podjetja, opredelitvijo kriz v življenjskem ciklu podjetja in z opisom idealnotipskega dinamičnega podjetja. Aplikativni del naloge smo zasnovali na študiji primera. Najprej smo opredelili zavarovalniško panogo s poudarkom na slovenskem zavarovalniškem sektorju, zlasti v kontekstu mednarodnega prostora in pogojih finančno-gospodarske krize. V nadaljevanju raziskave smo predstavili proučevano družbo, nato diagnosticirali fazo razvojnega cikla obravnavanega podjetja in analizirali dobljene rezultate. Kasneje smo se lotili ugotavljanja kriznega stanja zavarovalnice in ga sklenili s sintezo spoznanj. Zadnji del raziskave smo namenili ugotavljanju in analiziranju odstopanja dejanskega stanja dinamičnosti izbranega podjetja od ciljnega stanja dinamičnosti. Magistrsko nalogo smo sklenili s predlogi ukrepov za dinamizacijo obravnavane zavarovalnice.

In this master's thesis we have determined the stage of life and established the crisis of a studied insurance company using a selected method, and we have also determined which stage of dynamism it has achieved. It is beyond doubt that the company examined in this thesis will be able to adapt to increasingly demanding future challenges only by being sufficiently dynamic and by constantly adapting to current circumstances. This master's thesis consists of a theoretical and an applied part. The theoretical part explains the creation, growth and development of a company as well as its life cycle. The thesis then presents chosen development models for companies, identifies crises in corporate life cycle and describes the ideal type of a dynamic company. The applied part of the thesis is based on a case study. We have started out by defining the insurance sector with an emphasis on the insurance sector in Slovenia, especially in the context of the international environment as well as financial and economic crisis. The thesis then presents the company studied, diagnoses the stage of its development cycle and analyses the results obtained by research. Then it moves on to establish the state of crisis of the insurance company and finally offers a summary of research findings. The final part of the thesis deals with determining and analyzing the discrepancy between the actual dynamism of the selected company and its target dynamism. At the end of the master's thesis we propose measures to make the selected insurance company more dynamic.

Os sistemas de informação (SI) estão cada vez mais presentes nas organizações, permitindo acompanhar as mudanças diárias registadas nos negócios e apoiar as tomadas de decisão por parte da gestão. No entanto, observa-se que a avaliação para se implementar um SI não é feita de forma objetiva e muitas vezes apenas é feita no final da sua implementação. A análise de gestão de benefícios surge como uma análise complementar às práticas de gestão tradicionais e pretende avaliar quais os benefícios associados à implementação de SI, desde do seu planeamento até ao acompanhamento durante a implementação, de forma dinâmica. A gestão de benefícios tem sido aplicada a vários sectores. No entanto o sector dos seguros ainda se encontra por explorar, tendo sido para efeito a área escolhida para análise do presente trabalho. Foi elaborado um estudo de caso e aplicou-se a técnica de gestão de benefícios de Cranfield School of Management aos SI em estudo. Para tal, foram identificados e quantificados os benefícios subjacentes à implementação do SI, as mudanças organizacionais e estruturais e o alinhamento com a estratégia da organização. Como resultado e resposta à questão de investigação foi construída a rede de dependência de benefícios (RDB). Verificou-se que este modelo pode ser aplicado ao sector em estudo, tendo-se constatado que até ao momento do presente estudo, a empresa conseguiu alcançar parte dos benefícios identificados.

Information systems (IS) are increasingly in organizations, allowing management teams to support their decision by the daily changes recorded in the business. However, it is observed that the evaluation of the IS's implementation are not made objectively and it is often made at the end of its implementation. The benefits management appears as a complementary analysis to the traditional management. It allows teams to evaluate what benefits are associated to the implementation of IS at the planning phase, during the implementation process, and at the conclusion phase. The benefits management has been applied to several sectors, nevertheless the insurance sector has not been explored. For that reason this was the chosen area to perform this work. To develop this work it was prepared a case study and it has been applied the Cranfield School of Management to evaluate the chosen IS. It has been identified and quantified the benefits underlying the IS implementation, organizational and structural changes and alignment with the organization's strategy. As a result, and to answer the proposed question a benefits dependency network (BDN) was constructed. It was also possible to conclude that the model could be applied to the sector under study, and according the information provided during the research, the company was able to achieve significant part of the identified benefits.

Num mercado maduro e competitivo, a constante pressão dos vários concorrentes traduz-se na necessidade de retenção e angariação de novos clientes por parte das empresas. Esta preocupação pode ser mitigada pela adopção de uma filosofia de Customer Relationship Management (CRM). Dada a competitividade que existe actualmente no sector segurador português, que conta com cerca de 80 players, é cada vez mais importante o investimento das seguradoras numa abordagem estratégica de CRM. O presente projecto apresenta uma proposta de implementação de um sistema de CRM numa Companhia de Seguros Portuguesa, suportada por um enquadramento teórico sobre os conceitos abordados e sobre o sector de negócio em causa. O projecto de implementação proposto segue uma abordagem estratégica e tecnológica, tendo em vista uma adopção do projecto por parte da empresa. Os principais resultados indiciam que existe interesse pela adopção de um sistema de CRM na empresa em estudo dada a crescente preocupação com a satisfação do cliente

In a mature and competitive market, the constant pressure from various competitors reflected a need for acquiring and retains new customers by companies. This concern can be mitigated by adopting a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) philosophy. Given the competitiveness that currently exists in the Portuguese insurance sector, which has about 80 players, it is an increasingly important investment of the insurers in a strategic CRM approach. This draft represents a proposal for implementation of a CRM system in a Portuguese insurance company, supported by a theoretical framework about the concepts covered and the business sector concerned. The draft proposed implementation, follows a strategic and technological approach, with a view to adoption of the draft by the company. The main results indicate that there is interest in the adoption of a CRM system in the company under study, given the growing concern with customer satisfaction.
