Disertacijos tyrimų sritis – kompiuterių tinklo paketinio srauto savybės, tinklo mazgo savybių įtaka srauto aptarnavimui, tinklo srauto savybių realaus laiku analizės metodai ir jų taikymas kompiuterių tinklo srauto kaitos dinaminiam prognozavimui. Tyrimų objektas – kompiuterių tinklo paketinio srauto savybės, tinklo mazgo savybių įtaka paketinio kompiuterių tinklo srauto aptarnavimui, realaus laiko tinklo srauto savybių analizės metodai ir jų taikymas tinklo srauto kaitos dinaminiam prognozavimui. Darbo tikslas – ištirti fraktalinius procesus kompiuterių tinkluose, remiantis gautais rezultatais parinkti metodus, tinkamus tinklo srauto analizei realiu laiku, ir sukurti savastingumo matavimo realiu laiku metodiką bei ją pritaikyti kompiuterių tinklų aptarnavimo kokybei gerinti. Išanalizuotos tinklo komponentų matematinio modeliavimo galimybės, kompiuterių tinklo paketinio srauto modeliai ir modeliai, naudojantys aptarnavimo teorijos instrumentus. Parengtas tinklo srauto savybių analizės paketas, panaudotas kompiuterių tinklų fraktališkumo ir savastingumo tyrimo metodams analizuoti, vertinti ir palyginti. Ištirti paketinio kompiuterių tinklo srauto laiko eilučių analizės, dažninių/banginių savybių įvertinimo, laiko eilutės stabilumo parametrų įverčiais grindžiami bei chaoso teorijos priemonėmis įvertinami savastingumo analizės metodai. The field of the dissertation research is features of computer network packet traffic, the impact of network node features on traffic service, methods of real-time analysis of network traffic features and their application for dynamic prognostication of computer network packet traffic variance. The object of the research is the features of computer network packet traffic, the impact of network node features on computer network traffic service, methods of real-time network traffic features analysis and their application for dynamic prognostication of network traffic variances. The aim of work is to investigate fractal processes in computer networks, grounding on the results obtained to select methods suitable for real-time analysis of network traffic and to work out methods for real-time measurement of self-similarity as well as to apply it for perfection of computer networks service quality. Possibilities for mathematical modelling of network components, computer network packet traffic models and models using service theory instruments have been analysed. Dans cette thèse, nous développons une nouvelle méthode de détection de ruptures "Off-line", appelée Dérivée Filtrée avec p-value, sur des paramètres d'une suite de variables aléatoires indépendantes, puis sur le paramètre de Hurst d'un mouvement Brownien multifractionnaire. Cette thèse est composée de trois articles. Dans un premier article paru dans Sequential Analysis nous posons les bases de la méthode Dérivée Filtrée avec p-value (FDpV) en l'appliquant à une suite de variables aléatoires indépendantes. La méthode a une complexité linéaire en temps et en mémoire. Elle est constituée de deux étapes. La première étape utilisant la méthode Dérivée Filtrée détecte les bons instants de ruptures, mais également certaines fausses alarmes. La deuxième étape attribue une p-value à chaque instant de rupture potentiel détecté à la première étape, et élimine les instants dont la p-value est inférieure à un certain seuil critique. Nous démontrons les propriétés asymptotiques nécessaires à la calibration de la méthode. L'efficacité de la méthode a été prouvé tant sur des données simulées que sur des données réelles. Ensuite, nous nous sommes attaqués à l'application de la méthode pour la détection de ruptures sur le paramètre de Hurst d'un mouvement Brownien multifractionnaire. Cela s'est fait en deux phases. La première phase a fait l'objet d'un article à paraitre dans ESAIM P&S où nous avons établi un Théorème Central Limite pour l'estimateur du paramètre de Hurst appelé Increment Ratio Statistic (IRS). Puis, nous avons proposé une version localisée de l'IRS et démontré un TCL local pour estimer la fonction de Hurst d'un mouvement Brownien multifractionnaire. Les preuves sont intuitives et se distinguent par leur simplicité. Elles s'appuient sur le théorème de Breuer-Major et une stratégie originale appelée "freezing of time". La deuxième phase repose sur un nouvel article soumis pour publication. Nous adaptons la méthode FDpV pour détecter des ruptures sur l'indice de Hurst d'un mouvement Brownien fractionnaire constant par morceaux. La statistique sous-jacent de l'algorithme FDpV est un nouvel estimateur de l'indice de Hurst, appelé Increment Zero-Crossing Statistic (IZCS) qui est une variante de l'IRS. La combinaison des méthodes FDpV + IZCS constitue une procédure efficace et rapide avec une complexité linéaire en temps et en mémoire.

This Ph.D dissertation deals with "Off-line" detection of change points on parameters of time series of independent random variables, and in the Hurst parameter of multifrcational Brownian motion. It consists of three articles. Disertacijoje ištirti trupmeniškai integruotų tiesinių laiko eilučių modelių su nestacionaria ilgąja atmintimi dalinių sumų ribiniai skirstiniai ir tam tikros statistikos, susijusios su dalinių sumų procesais. Philippe, Surgailis, Viano 2006 ir 2008 m. darbuose apibrėžė kintančius laike trupmeniškai integruotus filtrus su baigtine dispersija ir nagrinėjo jų dalinių sumų ribinius skirstinius. Disertacijoje ištirti tokių procesų dalinių sumų ribiniai skirstiniai, kai dispersija begalinė, laikant, kad inovacijos priklauso α–stabilaus dėsnio traukos sričiai (čia 1<α<2). Įrodyta, kad dalinių sumų procesas konverguoja į tam tikrą α–stabilų savastingąjį procesą su nestacionariais pokyčiais. Surgailis, Teyssière, Vaičiulis 2008 m. darbe įvedė pokyčių santykių arba IR (= Increment Ratio) statistiką ir parodė, kad IR statistika gali būti naudojama tikrinti neparametrinėms hipotezėms apie stacionariosios laiko eilutės ilgąją atmintį bei ilgosios atminties parametrą d. Disertacijoje apibendrinti šių autorių gauti rezultatai, t. y. įrodyta IR statistikos centrinė ribinė teorema ir gauti poslinkio įverčiai, kai stebiniai aprašomi tiesiniu laiko eilutės modeliu su trendu. Praplėsta laiko eilučių klasė, kuriai IR statistika yra pagrįsta, t. y. konverguoja į vidurkį.

In the thesis is studied the limit distribution of partial sums of certain linear time series models with nonstationary long memory and certain statistics which involve partial sums processes. Philippe, Surgailis, Viano (2006, 2008) introduced time-varying fractionally integrated filters and studied the limit distribution of partial sums processes of these filters under finite variance set-up. In the thesis is studied the limit distribution of partial sums processes of infinite variance time-varying fractionally integrated filters. We assume that the innovations belong to the domain of attraction of an α-stable law (1<α<2) and show that the partial sums process converges to some α-stable self-similar process. In the thesis is studied the limit of the Increment Ratio (IR) statistic for Gaussian observations superimposed on a slowly varying deterministic trend. The IR statistic was introduced in Surgailis, Teyssière, Vaičiulis (2008) and its limit distribution was studied under the assumption of stationarity of observations. The IR statistic can be used for testing nonparametric hypotheses about d-integrated (-1/2 < d <3/2) behavior of the time series, which can be confused with deterministic trends and change-points. This statistic is written in terms of partial sums process and its limit is closely related to the limit of partial sums. In the thesis is studied the limit distribution of partial sums of certain linear time series models with nonstationary long memory and certain statistics which involve partial sums processes. Philippe, Surgailis, Viano (2006, 2008) introduced time-varying fractionally integrated filters and studied the limit distribution of partial sums processes of these filters under finite variance set-up. In the thesis is studied the limit distribution of partial sums processes of infinite variance time-varying fractionally integrated filters. We assume that the innovations belong to the domain of attraction of an α-stable law (1<α<2) and show that the partial sums process converges to some α-stable self-similar process. In the thesis is studied the limit of the Increment Ratio (IR) statistic for Gaussian observations superimposed on a slowly varying deterministic trend. The IR statistic was introduced in Surgailis, Teyssière, Vaičiulis (2008) and its limit distribution was studied under the assumption of stationarity of observations. The IR statistic can be used for testing nonparametric hypotheses about d-integrated (-1/2 < d <3/2) behavior of the time series, which can be confused with deterministic trends and change-points. Disertacijoje ištirti trupmeniškai integruotų tiesinių laiko eilučių modelių su nestacionaria ilgąja atmintimi dalinių sumų ribiniai skirstiniai ir tam tikros statistikos, susijusios su dalinių sumų procesais. Philippe, Surgailis, Viano 2006 ir 2008 m. darbuose apibrėžė kintančius laike trupmeniškai integruotus filtrus su baigtine dispersija ir nagrinėjo jų dalinių sumų ribinius skirstinius. Disertacijoje ištirti tokių procesų dalinių sumų ribiniai skirstiniai, kai dispersija begalinė, laikant, kad inovacijos priklauso α–stabilaus dėsnio traukos sričiai (čia 1<α<2). Įrodyta, kad dalinių sumų procesas konverguoja į tam tikrą α–stabilų savastingąjį procesą su nestacionariais pokyčiais. Surgailis, Teyssière, Vaičiulis 2008 m. darbe įvedė pokyčių santykių arba IR (= Increment Ratio) statistiką ir parodė, kad IR statistika gali būti naudojama tikrinti neparametrinėms hipotezėms apie stacionariosios laiko eilutės ilgąją atmintį bei ilgosios atminties parametrą d. Disertacijoje apibendrinti šių autorių gauti rezultatai, t. y. įrodyta IR statistikos centrinė ribinė teorema ir gauti poslinkio įverčiai, kai stebiniai aprašomi tiesiniu laiko eilutės modeliu su trendu. Praplėsta laiko eilučių klasė, kuriai IR statistika yra pagrįsta, t. y. konverguoja į vidurkį.

Disertacijoje nagrinėjama technogeninės taršos pažeistų skirtingų miško ekosistemos komponentų (medyno, dirvožemio, krūmokšnių, žolinių augalų ir samanų danga) pokyčiai sumažėjus gamyklos AB „Achema“ taršai. Naudojant 26 metų (1981–2007) ir dabartinių metų (2011–2012) tyrimų duomenis yra atlikta analizė apie skirtingus miško ekosistemos komponentų pokyčius ir įvertinta miško ekosistemų atsikūrimo galimybės. Remiantis tyrimų rezultatais nustatyta, kad praėjus 10–20 metų laikotarpiui nuo gamyklos teršimo pradžios (1979 m.) gali atskurti pažeistos miško ekosistemos. Pirmiausia atsikuria pažeisti medynai, po to – dirvožemio cheminės ir biologinės savybės, vėliausiai – krūmokšnių, žolinių augalų bei samanų danga ir dabartinė ekosistemų būklė yra artima neužterštiems žaliašiliams. Tačiau arčiausiai gamyklos krūmokšnių, žolinių augalų ir samanų dangoje vis dar randami nitrofiliniai augalai, kurie nebūdingi neužterštiems žaliašiliams. Tai rodo, kad dėl medyno struktūros negrįžtamumo prie AB „Achema“ krūmokšnių, žolinių augalų ir samanų danga išlieka pakitusi.

Doctoral dissertation presents the restoration of various components of forest ecosystem (stand, soil, the cover of brush, herbaceous vegetation and mosses) after the reduction of air pollution from the plant of fertilizers Achema. Using study data of 26 years (1981–2007) and of the current year (2011-2012), an analysis of the changes of different components of forest ecosystems has been carried out and recovery possibilities of forest ecosystems were evaluated. Based on the survey results it was found that after 10–20 years since the beginning of pollution from the factory (1979) damaged forest ecosystems are able to recover. First of all recover damaged stands, then – chemical and biological soil properties, at the latest – the cover of shrubs, herbaceous plants and mosses, and the current state of forest ecosystems is similar to control pine stands. However, ground vegetation in the nearest to the factory sites still contains nitrophilous plants which are not typical for uncontaminated pine forests. This shows that due to the irreversibility of the structure of stands near Achema, the cover of shrubs, herbaceous plants and mosses remains altered.

In the dissertation, the problem of nonparametric testing for sparse contingency tables is addressed. Statistical inference problems caused by sparsity of contingency tables are widely discussed in the literature. Traditionally, the expected (under null the hypothesis) frequency is required to exceed 5 in almost all cells of the contingency table. If this condition is violated, the χ2 approximations of goodness of fit statistics may be inaccurate and the table is said to be sparse . Several techniques have been proposed to tackle the problem: exact tests, alternative approximations, parametric and nonparametric bootstrap, Bayes approach and other methods. However they all are not applicable or have some limitations in nonparametric statistical inference of very sparse contingency tables. In the dissertation, it is shown that, for sparse categorical data, the likelihood ratio statistic and Pearson’s χ2 statistic may become noninformative: they do not anymore measure the goodness-of-fit of null hypotheses to data. Thus, they can be inconsistent even in cases where a simple consistent test does exist. An improvement of the classical criteria for sparse contingency tables is proposed. The improvement is achieved by grouping and smoothing of sparse categorical data by making use of a new sparse asymptotics model relying on (extended) empirical Bayes approach. Disertacijoje sprendžiami neparametrinių hipotezių tikrinimo uždaviniai išretintoms dažnių lentelėms. Problemos, susijusios su retų įvykių dažnių lentelėmis yra plačiai aptartos mokslinėje literatūroje. Yra pasiūlyta visa eilė metodų: tikslieji testai, alternatyvūs aproksimavimo būdai parametrinė ir neparametrinė saviranka, Bayeso ir kiti metodai. Tačiau jie nepritaikomi arba yra neefektyvūs neparametrinėje labai išretintų dažnių lentelių analizėje. Disertacijoje parodyta, kad labai išretintiems kategoriniams duomenims tikėtinumo santykio statistika ir Pearsono χ2 statistika gali pasidaryti neinformatyviomis: jos jau nėra tinkamos nulinės hipotezės ir duomenų suderinamumui matuoti. Vadinasi, jų pagrindu sudaryti kriterijai gali būti net nepagrįsti net tuo atveju, kai egzistuoja paprastas pagrįstas kriterijus. Darbe yra pasiūlytas klasikinių kriterijų patobulinimas išretintų dažnių lentelėms. Siūlomi kriterijai remiasi išretintų kategorinių duomenų grupavimu ir glodinimu naudojant naują išretinimo asimtotikos modelį, kuris remiasi (išplėstine) empirine Bayeso metodologija. Traditionally, the expected (under null the hypothesis) frequency is required to exceed 5 in almost all cells of the contingency table. If this condition is violated, the χ2 approximations of goodness of fit statistics may be inaccurate and the table is said to be sparse . Several techniques have been proposed to tackle the problem: exact tests, alternative approximations, parametric and nonparametric bootstrap, Bayes approach and other methods. However they all are not applicable or have some limitations in nonparametric statistical inference of very sparse contingency tables. In the dissertation, it is shown that, for sparse categorical data, the likelihood ratio statistic and Pearson’s χ2 statistic may become noninformative: they do not anymore measure the goodness-of-fit of null hypotheses to data. Thus, they can be inconsistent even in cases where a simple consistent test does exist. An improvement of the classical criteria for sparse contingency tables is proposed. The improvement is achieved by grouping and smoothing of sparse categorical data by making use of a new sparse asymptotics model relying on (extended) empirical Bayes approach. The highlight currently given to danger crimes, allied to the organize criminality increase, are strong triggering factors of the focus received by gang crimes at the current moment. The caselaw analysis of the mentioned criminal offense makes it possible to conclude that incriminations due to gangs has been vulgarized, in order to proliferate denounces due to gang that do not culminate or should not culminate in conviction, as the strict occurrence of their normative elements. The offense type, either for being open or for prescinding material results, assumed an evident secondary plan, which cause an evident unbalance in the criminal law fundamental principles compliance. Thus, we intend to conduct the present work analyzing those two factors, danger crimes and criminal association, and the consequences derived from, of the one side, leaving the punitive legitimacy aside, with the criminal law assuming an eminently social control function; of the other side, it is sought the gang crime legitimacy and the adequate dogmatic use of danger crimes, supported by the guaranty criminal law, guided by the human being maximum protection. The topic is arduous, mainly in face of the violence escalation, a phenomenon of the current times. Maybe the current jurist concern should be to conciliate the human person defense, in its strictest acceptation since Enlightenment, with the criminal treatment hardening as an appropriate mechanism for violence containment. The risk increment to which the current society is exposed cannot be despised. Violence assumes varied forms, and it is in this context that the criminal advance relief is verified, as an attempt to contain crime at its embryonary moment. In crimes of diffuse objectivity, the advance relief is potentialized based on the belief that this is the only way to effectively protect the juridical stead. At the other end, what is fought is the damage verification in a diffuse way, the relation between a crime and a determined victim is replaced with collective or even undetermined victimization. The magnitude generated by the involved interest or by the possibility of affecting innumerous victims requires the maximum protection of the stead, so that, in the name of an illusory efficiency, it be compatible only with advance relief up to the limit at which the protected stead is not under any risk threat. This can be verified in certain environmental crimes, for instance. The main issue consists in finding a balance point, that is, in discovering as from which moment the criminal advance relief actuation, especially in reference to gang crimes. This question is directly related to the classic conception of criminal law as the normative system ultima ratio

Multifunctional cameras capable of performing a wide variety of nearly simultaneous imaging tasks are expected to play a major role in the near future. Computational imaging (CI) systems will serve as one of the main enabling technologies for multifunctional cameras, especially due to the abundance of low-cost high-speed computational processing available today. New computational imaging (CI) systems and algorithms are being used to improve performance and accuracy for a wide variety of tasks. However, given the complexity of CI systems it is often difficult to characterize their performance. Therefore, both standardized metrics and an experimental measurement technique are needed to predict the performance of complex non-shift invariant electro optical/infrared (EO/IR) imaging systems, including CI systems. The purpose of this dissertation is to quantify the detection performance of CI systems to better model, compare, specify, and measure their performance, and to create a CI system measurement technique. Detection performance of traditional imaging systems can be modeled using current imaging system measurements such as Modulation Transfer Function (MTF), Signal to Noise (SNR), and pixels on target. However, these methods do not directly apply to CI systems. The detection performance of CI systems can be modeled through the use of ideal observer models (IOMs), where many have been developed for medical imaging applications. Specifically, detectability metrics, a type of IOM, are applied to CI systems, using a fully developed framework, leading to novel detectability metrics. They are derived by solving for the upper bound performance of a linear algorithm though evaluation of a matched filter. The performance is tied to the task of a CI system searching for a known target of interest within the background scene and noise. In this scenario, the hypothesis is that there is a target of interest, and the task of the CI system is to find it against the background. Additionally, we propose a CI system technique to experimentally measure the detectability indexes including an average Hotelling’s statistic ( ). The experimental results are compared with theoretical expected values and between different imaging systems. The experimental results are also demonstrated for a variety of target sizes, colors, and brightness on different colored flat backgrounds. Our results demonstrate how the detectability indexes can provide insight into the final system performance. Finally, several analytical versions of the detectability metrics are presented including a compressive sensing CI system.

▼ V současném tunelovém stavitelství se nejen v České republice používá pro predikci chování stavby a statický návrh konstrukčních prvků matematické modelování. Je to obecně výrazný posun kupředu - použití numerických kódů umožňuje stanovit komplexní rozložení napětí kolem vystrojeného nebo nevystrojeného výrubu. Málokterý program však umožňuje vypočítat napjatost kolem výrubu při zohlednění současně prakticky všech aspektů mechaniky zemin, jakými jsou například překonsolidace, částečná konsolidace při rychlé změně napjatosti, vliv dilatance, pozici na dráze efektivního napětí, sekundární stlačení, stupeň nasycení, tuhost skeletu, množství pórového vzduchu rozpuštěného v pórové vodě, teplota, chemické změny apod. Implementace těchto nadstandartních opcí do zdrojové databáze poté vyžaduje sestavení většinou diferenciální rovnice a algoritmu pro její přibližné řešení. Existuje však veličina, jejíž predikce je makroskopicky popsána v základním tvaru dvěma bezrozměrnými parametry, tzv. Skemptonovými součiniteli nebo koeficienty. Touto veličinou je přírůstek pórového tlaku od změny napjatosti a autor teorie A. W. Skempton společně dalšími kolegy stanovili a prokázali na základě laboratorních zkoušek závislost těchto součinitelů na některých z výše uvedených a popsaných fenoménů - především na stupni nasycení, tuhosti skeletu, překonsolidaci, poloze na dráze efektivních napětí. Účelem této práce je dokázat, že lze sestavit a v praxi aplikovat (v našem případě na stavbě tunelu Dobrovského) relativně jednoduchý algoritmus pro přibližné stanovení přírůstku pórového tlaku při složitém a komplexním pohledu na vlastnosti zeminy.; In recent tunnel engineering, mathematical modeling is used for prediction of construction behavior and static design of construction components. It is generally noticeable shift forwards - the usage of numerical codes allows determination of stress distribution around supported or unsupported excavation. Hardly any program, though, makes possible evaluation of stress distribution around excavation and simultaneously assumption practically of all aspects of soil mechanics - for example overconsolidation, partial consolidation together with quick change of stress, dilation, position on effective stress path valid for given soil during undrained loading, secondary consolidation, degree of saturation, stiffness of structure, the amount of pore air dissolved in pore water, temperature, chemical changes, etc. Implementation of these above-standard options into the source database thereafter needs composition of mostly differential equation and algorithm for its approximate solution. However, there exists a quantity - excess pore pressure, whose prediction is macroscopically described in basic form by two dimensionless parameters, so called Skempton's coefficients. The excess pore pressure is the result of change of stress acting on pore water-air-skeleton soil system and author of theory, A. W. ▼ In the current research, the annular swirling flow in a short subsonic air-air ejector that can be found in helicopters, fixed wing aircrafts, ships and other applications was investigated experimentally and numerically under different inlet flow conditions and geometric parameters. These ejectors are attached to the exhaust systems of gas turbine engines. A key phenomenon studied was the large wake that appears downstream of the primary nozzle of the ejector system. This phenomenon is typically called core separation in the industry. The effects of the core separation on the ejector performance parameters were also studied. It was found experimentally that severe core separation took place for swirl angles greater than 20 degrees. This core separation leads to severe distortion in the exit velocity and temperature profile. The core separation also changed the pressure recovery along the device axis and this leads to a rebalancing of the pumping at the mixing tube inlet and entraining diffuser. This affected overall ejector pumping, back pressure and film cooling effectiveness. Numerical studies were carried out using two-equation turbulence models that were available in ANSYS Fluent. In a series of CFD simulations, the measured flow parameters in the annulus were used as CFD inlet boundary conditions (AIBC). In another series of CFD simulations, the measured flow parameters at the nozzle exit were applied as CFD inlet boundary conditions (NEBC). With applying both the AIBC and NEBC using cold and hot inlet flow conditions with swirl angles < 20o, the RNG k-ε turbulence model showed superiority over the other turbulence models and a useful tool for effectively designing such devices particularly with applying the NEBC. At higher swirl angles the CFD did not accurately predict the strong changes in pressure recovery of such devices. In the current study, detailed performance data of air-air ejectors including the core separation phenomenon were generated. The understanding of the impact of core separation on such devices was improved. Deficiencies of the two-equation turbulence models in predicting the core separation in the ejector devices were identified. The effects of the swirl strength and other parameters on the ejector performance criteria were evaluated.

This master’s thesis deals with dairy industry, providing an overview of the expansion and development trends in the sector, as well as the justification of the necessity to improve asset analysis and management in the sector by indicating problems faced by the core dairy industry’s companies in asset management. The thesis also provides analytical overview of the concept, types and methods of asset analysis, and trends and solutions for asset management; describes methodology chosen for the analysis of corporate assets in dairy industry; conducts researches to identify improvement areas for corporate asset analysis and management in dairy industry. The first phase of the researches presents the overview of the milk industry, as well as the vertical and horizontal analyses of corporate balance sheets and cash flow statements to determine the structure of corporate assets, and trends and causes for change. The analysis of relative ratio was chosen as a method to identify key issues in dairy industry’s corporate asset management. The final phase of the researches presents the research conducted on the reliance of the profitability of assets in food production companies on the chosen factors by applying the method of double and multiple correlation and regression analysis.
