A crescente participação feminina no mercado de trabalho fez surgir a problemática conflito trabalho-família, pelo facto de deixarem de existir esferas da vida (profissional e familiar) separadas, e destinadas a cada um dos sexos, passando a haver uma dualidade de papéis. Tornou-se assim essencial, para as empresas, a implementação de políticas de articulação trabalho-família integradas numa GRH estratégica e inclusiva. Com este Trabalho Final de Mestrado pretendeu-se compreender as percepções dos/as trabalhadores/as do setor hoteleiro quanto à organização do tempo de trabalho e à articulação trabalho-família, bem como identificar boas práticas conducentes a uma melhor articulação trabalho-família com consequências positivas para os/as trabalhadores/as e paras as empresas. Foi utilizada uma metodologia quantitativa que envolveu 50 participantes, e que mostrou um setor com algumas especificidades que dificultam a implementação destas práticas e a consequente baixa satisfação por parte dos trabalhadores/as.

The increasing female participation in the labour market has risen the problematic work-family conflict, since there are no separate spheres of life (professional and family) for each of the genders, which lead to a dual role. It was thus essential for companies to implement work-family balance policies integrated into strategic and inclusive HRM. With this Master's thesis the aim was to understand the perceptions of workers in the hotel industry regarding the organization of working time and the balance of workfamily, as well as to identify good practices leading to a better work-family articulation with positive consequences for the workers and for the companies. A quantitative methodology was used involving 50 participants, which revealed a sector with some specificities that hinder the implementation of these practices and the consequent low satisfaction of the workers.
