▼ Examensarbetes frågeställning lyder;Vilken funktion fyller graffitikulturen för dess utövare?Identitets skapande genom graffiti.Frågeställningen som behandlas har sin bakgrund i min nyfikenhet på de pojkar intresserade avgraffiti jag stött på inom skolan där jag gjorde min verksamhetsförlagda utbildning (VFU)vårterminen 2010. Jag ville undersöka funktionerna som fylls hos graffitikulturens utövare för attfinna förståelse för de studenter jag mötte då så gott som alla studenter av manligt kön hade enrelation till graffitins estetiska uttryck. Jag som kommer att möta dess elever behöver känna till vadgraffiti är och vad det är för något som driver utövarna. Jag ansåg jag det relevant att skapa ettunderlag till oss bildpedagoger i detta avseende. Jag har även själv ett långvarigt förhållande tillgraffitikulturen. Så denna skrift fyller även en funktion för mig, som självförståelse.Examensarbetets gestaltande del är en fortsättning på denna uppsats del där jag valt att titta närmarepå närliggande homosociala arenor som bär likheter med graffitikulturen som jag undersöker iuppsatsen och kommer fram till som slutsats. Gestaltningen utgör en egentillverkad bok med bildervilka illustrerar dessa olika homosociala gemenskaper, boken skildrar bland annat militärförband,mc-gäng, fotbollslag, jägare, konstföreningar och scouter alla homosociala grupper där likandehierarkiska världen gäller. Inom dessa kulturer liksom inom graffitikulturen är handling som räknas,därför valde jag att skapa min gestaltning för hand, att göra den själv.I resultatdiskussionen framkommer dels ämnets mångfacetterade natur där det är tydligt attfunktionen graffitikulturen fyller för dess manlige utövare är vid och består av många delar. Dettaresultat bidrar till reflektioner kring hur man som pedagog kan arbeta med gruppen studenter som ärnyfikna på graffitikulturen som fenomen eller tillhör dess utövare. Utövandet är inte meningslöstutan fyller i högsta grad funktioner för individen. Vad detta är för funktioner kan skilja sig frånindivid till individ och i tid.

▼ Syftet med denna studie är att undersöka och kritiskt granska huruvida kompetensbaserad rekrytering som metod kan influera rekryterares arbete samt huruvida rekryterare uppfattar att tillämpning av metoden bidrar till en ökad mångfald på arbetsmarknaden. Vår ambition med denna studie är att bidra med en beskrivning av hur rekrytering kan berika en organisation ur ett mångfaldsperspektiv. Från en sociologisk synvinkel är vi intresserade av att studera hur och på vilket sätt interaktioner mellan människor i rekryteringsprocesser kan bidra till mångfald på arbetsmarknaden på samhällsnivå. Studien har en kvalitativ ansats med ett empiriskt underlag från semistrukturerade intervjuer. Intervjuerna genomfördes med rekryterare i Stockholmsområdet. Intervjuerna analyserades till en början deduktivt utifrån teorier kring Homosocialitet/Homosocial reproduktion, begreppet kompetens samt Malin Lindelöw Danielssons metod för kompetensbaserad rekrytering. Därefter analyserades materialet induktivt för att få en bredare förståelse. Vår analys av resultatet visar att samtliga respondenter uppfattar kompetens som färdigheter och egenskaper hos individen. Även bakgrund, utbildning och tidigare anställningar räknades in under begreppet kompetens. Vidare upplever samtliga att den kompetens det läggs mest fokus på är den funktionella kompetensen som relaterar till en individs funktionsförmåga i en specifik arbetssituation. Vår analys visar att kompetensbaserad rekrytering upplevs av våra intervjupersoner kunna bidra till avvikelse från homosocial reproduktion och kan ge ett bidrag till ökad mångfald hos företag. Denna metod underlättar för rekryterarna att hitta rätt person till rätt plats genom att fokusera de kompetenser som är viktiga för tjänsten och på ett effektivt sätt undvika det som är oväsentligt. Samtliga respondenter i vår studie är av uppfattningen att kompetens är en viktig och central del vid rekrytering, dock menar vissa att den strikta metoden inte är anpassningsbar för alla typer av sökande. Avslutningsvis visar vår analys att samtliga intervjupersoner upplever att mångfald handlar om olika typer av människor på samma plats och att det finns ett värde i att ha en stor mångfald på ett företag.

Ur ett internationellt perspektiv anses Sverige vara ett jämställt land. Trots detta finnsen utpräglad könssegregering på arbetsmarknaden som ett resultat av traditionellaföreställningar om vad som är kvinnliga och manliga yrken. Träindustrin harhistoriskt sett varit en mansdominerad bransch och det är fortfarande svårt för kvinnoratt få anställning inom den branschen. Vid rekrytering av personal finns möjligheterför företag att förändra den demografiska strukturen hos arbetsstyrkan.Med denna bakgrund ämnade denna studie att undersöka rekryteringsprocessen ur ettjämställdhetsperspektiv på ett utvalt företag inom träindustrin. Företaget har delat insina anställda under två yrkeskategorier, tjänstemän och kollektivpersonal.Underrepresentationen av kvinnor är mest märkbar bland kollektivpersonal och därförstuderades skillnader i hur rekryteringsprocessen ser ut mellan yrkeskategorierna.Studiens resultat visade att jämställdhetsperspektivet inte beaktas i samtliga momentav rekryteringsprocessen. Resultatet visade också skillnader i rekryteringsprocessenmellan de olika yrkeskategorierna. Vår slutsats blev således att företagetsrekryteringsprocess kan utgöra hinder för kvinnor att få anställning.

Sweden is considered to be an egalitarian country. Despite this there is a pronouncedgender segregation in the labor market. Traditional notions of what constitutes asmale and female occupations are still factors that influence the labor market. Thetimber industry has historically been a male-dominated industry. It is still difficult forwomen to obtain employment in that industry. When recruiting staff, a company hasthe opportunity to alter the demographic segementation of the workforce.Therefore, this study aimed to investigate the recruitment process on a selectedcompany in the timber industry from a gender perspective. The company has dividedits employees under two categories, civil servants and collectiv employees. Since theunder-representation of women is most noticeable among the collectiv employees, thestudy focuses on the differences in how the recruitment process looks between thesediffrerent categories. The study showed that a gender perspective is not taken intoaccount in all parts of the recruitment process. The results also showed differences inthe recruitment process between the different occupational categories. Our conclusionwas therefore that the company's recruitment process may hinder women to obtainemployment.

Bakgrund: Sverige är ett land som jämfört med övriga länder i världen är långt fram i dess jämställdhetsarbete, där lagar kring diskriminering finns för att skydda arbetstagaren och för att främja lika rättigheter och möjligheter oavsett kön, etnisk tillhörighet och sexuell läggning etc. Trots detta visar tidigare studier att det föreligger barriärer för vissa arbetstagare vid avancemang uppåt i den organisatoriska hierarkin och således inte ges samma möjligheter. Statistik visar att det finns en stark snedfördelning mellan kvinnor och män på högre chefspositioner i Sverige där männen är överrepresenterade. En bransch som studien identifierat som jämställd på mellanchefsnivå men som fortsatt är överrepresenterad av män på högre chefspositioner är bankbranschen. Därför undersökte studien varför och hur denna snedfördelning uppstår. Syfte: Det övergripande syftet är att bidra med en förståelse för varför kvinnor är mer vanligt förekommande på lägre chefspositioner men inte på högre inom bankbranschen och få en förståelse för vilka hinder de möter eller har mött under sin yrkeskarriär. Syftet är också att få en förståelse för hur kvinnor på mellanchefsnivå inom bankbranschen upplever sina möjligheter till fortsatt avancemang. Metod: För att besvara studiens frågeställning har en kvalitativ metod använts där sju semistrukturerade intervjuer har genomförts på kvinnliga mellanchefer inom bankbranschen i en avgränsad region. Slutsats: Studien visar att genusprocesser och könskodning inom organisationer existerar och kan utgöra osynliga hinder för kvinnor. Resultatet visar också att det är kvinnorna som själva ger sig möjligheten till avancemang uppåt i hierarkin där kompetens och mod ger förutsättningar till karriär i den meningen att nå högre chefspositioner. Studien påvisar att trots värdegrunds- och jämställdhetsarbete från organisationer och samhället i stort behövs fortsatta insatser inom detta område då genusprocesser fortsatt utgör hinder för kvinnor.

Background: Sweden is a country that, compared to other countries in the world, is far ahead in its gender equality work, where laws around discrimination exist to protect workers and to promote equal rights and opportunities regardless of gender, ethnic affiliation and sexual orientation etc. Despite this, previous studies show that there are barriers for some workers in advancing up the organizational hierarchy and thus not being given the same opportunities. Statistics show that there is a strong uneven balance between women and men in higher managerial positions in Sweden where men are over-represented. Bakgrund: Enligt regeringens jämställdhetsmål uppnår organisationer jämställdhet i styrelser om män respektive kvinnors representation överstiger 40% (Englund, 2019). Begreppet jämställdhet innebär att kvinnor och män ska ges samma förutsättningar avseende rättigheter, skyldigheter och möjligheter (Jämställdhetsmyndigheten, 2019). Sverige uppvisar en positiv jämställdhetsutveckling avseende dess styrelser samtidigt som svenska valberedningar endast uppvisar små förändringar avseende dess könsfördelning. Det fenomen som preliminär statistik uppvisar bidrar med intressanta avvikelser från vad tidigare studier inom forskningsområdet antyder och vad homosocial reproduktion förespråkar. Syfte: Studiens syfte är att förklara i vilken utsträckning andelen kvinnor i svenska styrelser påverkas av valberedningars sammansättning och struktur. Metod: Studien har en deduktiv forskningsansats där tre olika teorier ligger till grund för de hypoteser som formulerats och sedan testats. De teorier som ligger till grund för uppsatsens hypoteser är homosocial reproduktion, institutionell teori och den resursberonde teorin. Studiens hypoteser har testats med hjälp utav Ordinary Least Square regressionsmetod där urvalet omfattade 76 bolag på Stockholmsbörsen och dess respektive valberedare under en tidsperiod motsvarande fem år. Den forskningsstrategi som använts är således en longitudinell design. Slutsatser: Det råder en negativ relation mellan andelen män i valberedningar och andelen kvinnor i svenska styrelser. Homosocial reproduktion existerar därmed vid styrelserekrytering i Sverige och dess påverkan på andelen kvinnor i svenska styrelser tenderar att variera över tiden. De faktorer i valberedningars sammansättning och struktur som har en påverkan på andelen kvinnor i svenska styrelser är: medelåldern på valberedare, valberedares varaktighet och andelen män i valberedningar. Vidare påverkas även andelen kvinnor i svenska styrelser av: organisationers storlek och branschen företaget verkar inom.

Background: According to the government's gender equality goal, organizations achieve gender equality in boards if men's and women's representation exceeds 40% (Englund, 2019). The concept of equality means that women and men should be given the same conditions regarding rights, obligations and opportunities (Jämställdhetsmyndigheten, 2019). Sweden shows a positive trend in gender equality with regard to its boards, while Swedish nomination committees only show minor changes regarding its gender distribution. The phenomenon that preliminary statistics show contributes to interesting deviations from what previous studies in the research area suggest and what homosocial reproduction suggests. ▼ My thesis argues that textually embedded intimacy and exclusivity between men opens up ethical problems concerning the use of education and persuasive powers—the ability to reconfigure vice as virtue, to argue a case for transgressions, and to navigate political, economic, and social spheres for personal self-advancement. My argument is based first on the proposition that masculine elite friendship in the early modern period is situated in specific pedagogical practices, engagement with particular rhetorical manuals and classical texts, and manipulation of texts which determine the affectionate, ‘textual’, nature of these relationships. From this, I propose, second, that a hermeneutic process of rhetorical and poetic composition and exclusionary understanding is embedded within these textual relationships. From these two propositions, I analyse the textual surface of homosocial relationships in order to ask questions about ethical dilemmas concerning the forms of power they represent. How can an enclosed system of affection be useful for political, social, or financial advancement by making a vice (self-interest) of a virtue (fidelity), a dubious idea in the early modern period? How are homosocial networks developed and depicted through an engagement with their own textuality? Are they shown as transgressive and dangerous in further marginalizing those who are not privy to the system of textual exchange between men? The creation of homosocial male friendships is predicated on the idea that there are shared texts and methodologies for internalizing ideas from classical sources (imitatio) and for using these as starting points for the creation of arguments (inventio) to suit social, political, and even domestic situations. I focus on fictitious relationships developed in early modern English drama—as playwrights represent masculine discourse, textual knowledge, and rhetorical techniques. The friendships and fellowships in these dramatic productions contain questions about the use of masculine networks in socio-political and economic navigation. ▼ This thesis examines Elizabeth Bishop's seemingly understated and yet nuanced poetry with a specific focus on loss, love, and language through domesticity to create a poetic home. In this sense, home offers security for a displaced orphan and lesbian, moving from filial to amorous love, as well as the literary home for a poet who struggled for critical recognition. Further, juxtaposing the familiar with the strange, Bishop situates her speaker in a construction of artificial and natural boundaries that break down across her topography and represent loss through the multiple female figures that permeate her poems to convey the uncertainty one experiences with homelessness. In order to establish home, Bishop sets her female relationships on a continuum as mother, aunt, grandmother, and lovers are equitably represented with similar tropes. In essence, what draws these women together remains their collective and familiar duty as potential caretaker, which is contrasted by their unusual absence in the respective poems that figure them. Contrary to the opinion most scholars hold, Bishop's reticence was a calculated device that progressed her speaker(s) toward moments of self discovery. In an attempt to uncover her voice, her place in the literary movements, and her very identity, critics narrowly define Bishop's vision by fracturing her identity and positing reductive readings of her work. By choosing multiple dichotomies that begin with a marginalized speaker and the centered women on her continuum, the paradox of Bishop's poetry eludes some readers as they try to queer her or simply reduce her to impersonal and reticent, while a holistic approach is needed to uncover the genesis of Bishop's poetic progression. To be sure, Bishop's women conflate into the collective image of loss, absence, and abandonment on Bishop's homosocial continuum as a way to achieve catharsis. Bishop's concern with unconditional love, coupled with the continual threat of abandonment she contends with coursing through her work, gives credence to the homosocial continuum that is driven by loss and love with the perpetual need to create a language to house Bishop from the painful memories of rejection. Bishop situates her speaker(s) in the margins, since it is at the center when the pain of loss is brought into light, to allow her fluid selves release from the prison loss creates. By reading her work through the lenses of orphan, lesbian, and female poet, the progression of her homosocial continuum, as I envision it, is revealed. It is through this continuum that Bishop comes to terms with loss and abandonment, while creating a speaking subject that grows with each poem. Without her continuum of powerful female relationships, Bishop's progression as a poet would be far less revealing. Indeed, defining herself through negation, Bishop's sense of homelessness is uncovered in juxtaposition to her centered female subjects, and I delve into these contestations of space/place as well as her figurations of home/ homelessness to discern Bishop's poetic craft… Advisors/Committee Members: Smith, Ernest.

The study is based on an intersectional perspective in order to reach a deeper understanding of how inequality is created in the advertising industry. The study's empirical data has been collected based on six qualitative interviews with women who work at different advertising agencies in Stockholm. Our results show that high financial, social and cultural capital affects the work opportunities favourably, and contributes to the industry's homogeneity. The term habitus has been used to locate and create an understanding of how homogeneity is created and reproduced. Furthermore, current norms and values within the industry have been identified and have created an understanding for the appearance of the homogenity. The result also shows that the advertising as a product, and the informants' experiences of their own workplace are affected by the industry's homogeneity, which has led to the argumention for a greater diversity among the employees. Advertising has a position of power in today's consumer society where they have influence over people's self-identities, which has led to the argument for a greater diversity among employees would had been favorable for everyone in order to be to feel represented, but also that the homosocial reproduction where men currently possess positions with more power should be broken in order to create a more equal industry which in turn can be a step towards a more equal society.

Syftet med uppsatsen är att ta reda på vilka processer som samverkar i skapandet och upprätthållandet av homogenitet i reklambranschen, utifrån ett intersektionellt perspektiv. Studiens empiri har samlats in utifrån sex kvalitativa intervjuer med kvinnor som arbetar på olika reklambyråer i Stockholm. Vårt resultat visar på att det krävs ett högt ekonomiskt, kulturellt och socialt kapital för att få jobb inom branschen. Begreppet habitus har används för att lokalisera och skapa en förståelse kring hur homogenitet skapas och reproduceras. I uppsatsen har det också identifierats att de olika könen befinner sig inom olika makt- och möjlighetsstrukturer inom branschen, vilket bland annat förklarats utifrån homosocial reproduktion. Resultatet visar att reklamprodukten och informanternas upplevelser av den egna arbetsplatsen påverkas av branschens homogenitet. Uppsatsen har skapat en insikt om att reklamskaparna har en maktposition i dagens konsumtionssamhälle där de besitter inflytande över människors självidentiteter. Därmed har det argumenterats för att det krävs en större mångfald bland de anställda för att bekämpa stereotypiserad reklam och låta alla känna sig representerade. Det har också framkommit att den homosociala reproduktionen där män i dagsläget besitter positioner med mer makt behövs brytas för att skapa en mer jämställd bransch som i sin tur kan vara ett steg mot ett mer jämställt samhälle.

Bakgrund: Invandringen till Sverige har ökat de senaste åren. Detta ställer organisationer inför nya utmaningar då det gäller att rekrytera och kunna tillgodogöra sig den kompetens som den nytillkomna befolkningen besitter. Sveriges riksdag vill främja mångfalden på svenska arbetsplatser och har lagstadgat att organisationer aktivt måste arbeta med mångfaldsarbete. Till följd av att direktiv saknats har rekryteringsförfarandet präglats av att chefer tenderar att rekrytera individer som liknar dem själva, vilket resulterar i homogena gruppkonstellationer. Denna företeelse benämns som homosocial reproduktion. Vikten av en mångfaldsplan är därav väsentlig för att organisationens mångfaldsarbete skall vara genomgående i hela organisationen. Syfte: Studiens syfte är att beskriva och analysera chefers uppfattning om hur rekrytering sker utifrån organisationens mångfaldsplan Metod: Då syftet med studien är att beskriva och analysera enskilda individers upplevelser har en kvalitativ undersökningsmetod använts. Sju individuella semistrukturerade intervjuer har genomförts i relation till vår teoretiska referensram. Slutsatser: Studiens resultat visar tydligt på chefers bristande engagemang för att läsa mångfaldsplanen. Vidare har föreliggande studie visat att cheferna upplever att mångfaldsplanen inte går att applicera på de lokala kontoren, vilket resulterar i att HR:s informationsspridning fallerar. Studien har därav visat att mångfaldsplanen inte påverkat chefers rekryteringsförfarande. Föreliggande studie har visat att chefer rekryterar enligt personliga preferenser och har diversifierade gruppsammansättningar i form av varierande kön, ålder, arbetslivserfarenhet och akademisk bakgrund. Föreliggande studie har visat att etnicitet inte involveras i chefernas definition av mångfald vilket kan tyda på etnisk underordning.

Background: Immigration to Sweden has increased in recent years requiring organizations to utilize the newly arrived population. The Swedish Parliament wishes to promote diversity in Swedish workplaces and has laid down a law stating that organizations must actively work on diversity. Due to the absence of a directive, the recruitment procedure has been characterized by managers tending to recruit individuals similar to themselves, which has resulted in homogeneous group configurations. This phenomenon is called homosocial reproduction. The importance of a diversity policy is therefore essential for diversity to be continuous throughout the organization. Syftet med denna studie är att öka förståelsen för hur rekryterare hanterar svårigheten att bedöma kandidater under anställningsintervjuer. Studiens empiriska material har samlats in genom ett kvalitativt tillvägagångssätt där sju semistrukturerade intervjuer har genomförts. Intervjupersonerna arbetar med rekrytering i Stockholms län och använder anställningsintervjuer som metod i rekryteringsprocessen. Med hjälp av tidigare forskning och teorier som förklarar likhetseffekten, homosocial reproduktion, haloeffekten samt hur en kompetensbaserad rekrytering går till visar resultatet av studien att intervjupersonernas bedömning av kandidater till stor del baseras på den “personkemi” som uppstår mellan rekryterare och kandidat vid ett första möte. Enligt tidigare forskning tenderar bedömning av kandidater baserat på ett första intryck att å ena sidan utesluta potentiellt starka kandidater och å andra sidan resultera i felrekrytering. Intervjupersonerna var medvetna om denna problematik och har därför utvecklat egna tekniker för att undvika fallgroparna som gör att de riskerar att “döma boken efter omslaget”.

The purpose of this study is to increase the understanding of how recruiters handle the difficulty of assessing candidates during job interviews. The empirical material of the study was gathered based on a qualitative approach by which seven semi structured interviews were conducted. The interviewees are recruiting staff in Stockholm County who uses job interviews as a method in the recruitment process. With support by previous research and theory which explains the similar attraction theory, homosocial reproduction, the law of effect and recruitment based on qualifications, the results of the study show that the interviewees assessment of candidates are largely based on “the chemistry” created between the recruiter and the candidate during their first meeting. However, according to previous research, this is an approach that on one hand tends to exclude potentially strong candidates, and on the other hand could result in a recruitment gone wrong. The interviewees were aware of this issue, and have therefore developed their own techniques to avoid the pitfalls which puts them in risk to “judge the book by its cover”.

Syftet med detta arbete är att undersöka socialdemokraternas organisering av medelklassen och tjänstemännen i Karlstad under mitten av 1900-talet och varför det startades en socialdemokratisk tjänstemannaförening i Karlstad. Grunden till arbetet baseras på källmaterial i form av mötesprotokoll, samt års och verksamhetsberättelser från Karlstads socialdemokratiska tjänstemannaförening. Karlstad arbetarekommun och Karlstads kvinnoklubb. Detta källmaterial har granskats kvalitativt för att presentera majoriteten av resultatet men även en kvantitativ analys har genomförts för att presentera medlemsutvecklingen inom tjänstemannaföreningen. Tjänstemännen var den grupp i samhället som växte mest under mitten av 1900-talet vilket förklarar den snabbt växande socialdemokratiska tjänstemannaföreningen. Efter en snabb medlemstillväxt följdes en liten minskning av medlemmar vilket sedan stabiliseras och skiftar fram till slutet av 60-talet då en snabb nedgång får organisationen på fall och resulterar i upplösning år 1972. Eftersom kvinnliga tjänstemän också ökade i antal under 1900-talet kommer detta arbete även att analysera hur de kvinnliga medlemmarna visar sig. Medlemmarna inom tjänstemannaföreningen har granskats ur ett manligt, homosocialt perspektiv för att förstå bristen på kvinnliga medlemmar i den socialdemokratiska tjänstemannaföreningen. Tjänstemännen har även analyserats med hjälp av tre teorier om tjänstemännens klasstillhörighet för att undersöka vilken förklaringsmodell som bäst passar in på källmaterialet och för att förklara varför tjänstemännen inom socialdemokraternas föreningar startar en egen socialdemokratisk tjänstemannaförening år 1948. Arbetet undersöker också varför organisationen hade en snabbt växande medlemsutveckling.

The purpose of this thesis is to analyze the social democrat’s organization of the middle class and the working official’s in Karlstad during the mid-2000 century and to analyze the female participation within the working official’s social democratic organization. The foundations of this work are based on meeting minutes, protocols, annual reports and business stories from the working official’s social democratic organization, the social democratic women club and from the social democratic working municipality. These sources have been analyzed qualitatively to provide most of the results, but the members have been analyzed with a quantitative method to explain the member development within the working official’s social democratic organization. The working officials was the group of people in society that grew the most during the mid-2000 century which explains the rapid growth of the working official’s organization within the social democrats.
