▼ Honduras ? um pa?s cujo atraso tecnol?gico, corrup??o, altos ?ndices de pobreza, criminalidade, baixa escolaridade e desigualdade social t?m diminu?do o desenvolvimento, por essas e outras raz?es ? o foco de estudo das institui??es internacionais, mas insuficiente pelo sistema nacional de educa??o, sendo um pa?s com caracter?sticas pr?prias, seja econ?mico, social, educacional, cultural, entre outros. Tegucigalpa MDC ? a capital deste pa?s, tradicionalmente dividida em duas cidades juntamente com Comayag?ela, constituindo estas cidades um tecido urbano cuja expans?o acelerada abriu o caminho para m?ltiplas contradi??es no espa?o urbano, as quais s?o transformadas devido aos m?ltiplos agentes de modelagem e produtores espaciais. A falta de empregos no setor rural, a migra??o interna e os baixos sal?rios incentivam a popula??o a procurar emprego, seja formal ou informal. De acordo com estudos realizados pela OIT, 73,4% da economia do pa?s desenvolve-se dentro da informalidade. O estudo a seguir traz a proposta de estudar em que condi??es essas atividades se desdobram e como s?o disseminadas dentro do espa?o econ?mico geogr?fico, fazendo um corte dirigido aos trabalhadores do com?rcio em vias p?blicas, definindo como ?rea de estudo parte do Centro Hist?rico de Comayag?ela, sendo identificadas sete manifesta??es com caracter?sticas pr?prias (Estacion?rio, Ocasional, Tempor?ria, Ambulante ou passeado, Carreteiros, Carreteiros Semi ? Estacion?rios, Moveis). Neste estudo, al?m de descrever os envolvidos no com?rcio rodovi?rio nas vias p?blicas e o processo de apropria??o do espa?o p?blico, nasce o interesse de compreender o processo de cria??o de novos espa?os de consumo a partir dessas atividades. Al?m disso, discutir e contribuir com estudos locais para o setor menos privilegiado dentro do setor econ?mico e contribuir para as sugest?es da OIT para expandir o setor de trabalho. Para compreender a economia que se manifesta nas ruas de Comayag?ela, as categorias de an?lise, espa?o p?blico, territ?rio, com?rcio, espa?o social, apropria??o, com?rcio, rua, estado, organiza??es, abrir?o caminho para uma interpreta??o quantitativa e qualitativa que ser? acompanhada de trabalho de campo que constituem t?cnicas necess?rias para o desenvolvimento da investiga??o e interpreta??o do com?rcio de via p?blica. Os dados obtidos nos revelam que ? a partir do vivido, do uso que ? dado ao espa?o e do significado que est? impregnado que os comerciantes v?o construir uma territorialidade e um sentido de perten?a. ▼ Os riscos s?o inerentes ? atividade humana, qualquer a??o a ser executada possui um ou mais fen?menos que podem acontecer e se tornar um obst?culo ao alcance de uma meta ou atendimento a um prazo. No mundo corporativo, as empresas tamb?m est?o expostas a uma quantidade significativa de incertezas. Por este motivo, se torna imprescind?vel gerenciar os riscos dentro das organiza??es. Este trabalho teve por objetivo propor um modelo para o processo de Gest?o de Riscos da Universidade Federal do Amazonas, assim como examinar a Pol?tica de Gest?o de Riscos da institui??o, aplicar a metodologia utilizada na operacionaliza??o da implanta??o da GR, analisar os riscos da Pr?-Reitoria de Planejamento e Desenvolvimento Institucional e propor a matriz e o mapa de riscos da PROPLAN. A metodologia adotada foi a pesquisa do tipo qualitativa, por meio de uma pesquisa explorat?ria e descritiva. Realizou-se a coleta de dados atrav?s do levantamento dos riscos com a utiliza??o da ferramenta FMEA e os dados coletados foram os riscos associados aos objetivos estrat?gicos delineados no Plano de Desenvolvimento Institucional. Ao final da pesquisa, conseguiu-se um referencial das a??es a serem adotadas para a efetiva??o da Gest?o de Riscos em apoio ao cumprimento dos objetivos estrat?gicos de uma organiza??o. p>Risks are inherent to human activity, any action to be taken has one or more phenomena that can happen and become an obstacle to reaching a goal or meeting a deadline. In the corporate world, companies are also exposed to a significant amount of uncertainty. For this reason, it is essential to manage risks within organizations. This work aimed to propose a model for the Risk Management process of the Federal University of Amazonas, as well as to examine the institution's Risk Management Policy, apply the methodology used in the operationalization of the GR implementation, analyze the risks of the Pro-Rectory of Institutional Planning and Development and propose PROPLAN's matrix and risk map. The methodology adopted was qualitative research, through exploratory and descriptive research. Data collection was carried out by surveying the risks using the FMEA tool and the data collected were the risks associated with the strategic objectives defined in the Institutional Development Plan. Parte do seguinte problema cient?fico: De que modo ? utiliza??o de um espa?o n?o formal, no ensino da biologia, pode contribuir para a forma??o de seus conceitos cient?ficos. Este questionamento nos remeteram aos seguintes norteadores: em que medida a intera??o entre aprendiz, sujeitos e ambiente pode implicar na forma??o de conceitos no que diz respeito ? biologia? Outrossim: de que maneira o espa?o n?o formal do Museu da Amaz?nia - MUSA pode ser utilizado como instrumento de ensino e aprendizagem para a forma??o de conceitos cient?ficos? Partindo desses pressupostos apresentamos os seguintes objetivos espec?ficos: Relacionar o conhecimento do aluno e o te?rico formal com os sujeitos e os espa?os n?o formais, mediado pelo professor e subsidiado pela experimenta??o. E ainda: Verificar como o espa?o n?o formal do MUSA possibilita ao professor de biologia utiliz?-lo com recurso no processo de ensino e aprendizagem. Para tanto a pesquisa seguiu as seguintes etapas: levantamento bibliogr?fico, investiga??o das potencialidades do espa?o n?o formal onde ocorreu a pesquisa, coleta de dados, leitura, interpreta??o e an?lise dos dados; cuja coleta de dados foi realizada utilizando-se: question?rios semiestruturados, entrevistas semiestruturadas, bem como a capta??o de ?udio; o tratamento dos dados foi realizado atrav?s da an?lise textual discursiva. A pesquisa prop?s contribuir cientificamente como um estudo de investiga??o do processo ensino-aprendizagem no que tange a forma??o de conceitos a partir do uso de um espa?o n?o formal. Justificou-se o estudo pela necessidade de investigar como esses processos ocorrem e que instrumentos podem contribuir para o sucesso da aprendizagem dos alunos. p>The dissertation presented here aims as a general objective; investigate the formation process of Science concepts in the methods of teaching from the use of a non-formal space in Manaus, part of the following scientific problem: How the use of a non-formal space, in biology teaching, can be useful for the formation of concepts? ▼ Kelan IT-osastolla tehtiin vuonna 2010 päätös muodostaa ja ottaa käyttöön jaetut Unix-tiedostoresurssit suurtietokoneympäristössä. Nykyinen ongelma on suurtietokoneella eristetysti toimivat Unix-ympäristöt, minkä vuoksi Unix-tiedostoresurssit järjestelmien välillä eivät ole dynaamisesti toistensa saatavilla. Tämä tekee palveluiden toimivuuden varmistamisen vaikeaksi, koska palvelut mahdollistavien ohjelmistojen kahdentaminen suurtietokoneella on hankalaa. Asiantuntijoille rajoitus tarkoittaa lisätyötä, suurtietokoneella Unix-tiedostoja käyttävän ohjelmiston ollessa käytännössä sidottu yhteen ainoaan järjestelmään. Ohjelmistojen toimivuuden sekä niiden käyttämän tiedon eheyden varmistaminen vaatii ylimääräistä tarkkaavaisuutta, jotta niitä käyttävät kriittiset palvelut olisivat varmasti asiakkaiden käytettävissä. Opinnäytetyön tarkoitus oli kuvata toteutettu Unix-tiedostoresurssien jakaminen kohdeympäristössä sekä esitellä muutoksen mukanaan tuomia kehitysmahdollisuuksia. Ainutlaatuisesta ympäristöstä johtuen opinnäytetyö on case-tutkimustyyppinen. Raportissa selvitetään kohdeympäristössä käytettävät järjestelmät, niiden erityispiirteet ja rajoitukset. Lisäksi siinä pohditaan näiden järjestelmäratkaisujen tehostamiskeinoja ja konkreettisia tapoja, joilla kohdeympäristön päällä toimivien palveluiden toimintavarmuutta voitaisiin nostaa. Opinnäytetyö tarjoaa kehitysmahdollisuuksia, joiden avulla Kelan suurtietokoneen ohjelmistoja käyttäviä palveluita on mahdollista muuttaa toimintavarmemmiksi ja suoritustehokkaammiksi. Uudet kehitysmahdollisuudet esitellään vertaamalla nykyisiä ratkaisuja jaetun Unix-ympäristön mahdollistamiin tehokkaampiin toimintamalleihin. Opinnäytetyössä esitellyt ratkaisut mahdollistavat laadun parantamisen palveluiden toimintavarmuuden nostaessa palveluita käyttävien asiakkaiden tyytyväisyyttä. Ratkaisut oletettavasti pienentävät myös riskien ottamisen tarvetta kohdeympäristössä ja vähentävät asiantuntijoiden työnmäärää. p>The Social Insurance Institution of Finland (Kela) made a decision to carry out plans for the distributed Unix file system in their mainframe computer environment in 2010. The problem with the current mainframe environment is segregation of the Unix-systems, which means that the Unix file systems are available only in the system where they are mounted. This restriction makes the duplication of systems in the mainframe cumbersome and it becomes difficult to ensure the performance of the services. ▼ Proliferation of new computing hardware platforms that support increasing numbers of cores, as well as increasing ISA heterogeneity, is creating opportunity for systems software developers to question existing software architecture. One promising emerging systems architecture is the multikernel, pioneered in Barrelfish OS. The multikernel directly addresses the challenges of high core counts and increased heterogeneity by partitioning the system into multiple independently running kernel instances which cooperate to form a single operating system. Popcorn Linux is an adaptation of the multikernel concept to a Linux environment, melding the multikernel concept with the power and ubiquity of the Linux platform. The goal of the Popcorn Linux project is to provide a Linux-based single-system image environment for heterogeneous hardware. In constructing this environment, Linux must be extended to distribute the plethora of operating system services that it provides across kernel instances. This thesis presents the newly developed Popcorn Linux mechanism for migrating tasks and their address spaces between kernel instances at arbitrary points in their execution. Both process and thread migration is supported, and distributed address spaces are maintained and guaranteed to remain consistent between distributed thread group members running on different kernel instances. Tasks can migrate through an unlimited number of kernel instances, as well as back to previously visited kernel instances. Additionally, the full task life-cycle is supported, allowing migrated tasks to exit and create new children on whichever kernel instance happens to be hosting them. The mechanisms developed were vetted through unit testing, review, and a number of compute-bound benchmarks in a homogeneous x86 64bit environment. Correctness was demonstrated, and performance metrics were acquired. Popcorn Linux performance was shown to be reasonable when compared to SMP Linux. The mechanisms developed are therefore deemed feasible. Scalability was determined to be a function of workload characteristics, where in some cases Popcorn Linux out-scales SMP Linux and in other cases SMP Linux out-scales Popcorn Linux. Optimizations are recommended to reduce the maturity gap between Popcorn Linux and SMP Linux, improving Popcorn Linux performance. ▼ peer-reviewed p>Several authors have proposed information seeking as an important perspective for the study of software maintenance and evolution, and have characterized information seeking empirically in commercial software evolution settings. However, there is little research reported in the literature that describes the information seeking behavior of open source (OS) programmers, even though OS contexts would seem to exacerbate information seeking problems for maintenance programmers. In the OS setting, team members are typically delocalized from each other and are more likely to use asynchronous communication. In addition, the information seeking behavior of OS system maintainers is an increasingly important research topic, due to the increasing body of OS software needing to be maintained and users’ increasing reliance on OS software systems. Such an increased reliance and prevalence means that there is increased demand for software maintenance of OS systems and it is this area that this thesis will strive to address. This thesis reports on a series of empirical studies that classify OS programmers’ information needs during maintenance. In these studies, types of information needs are identified through a Grounded Theory based analysis of the questions that appear in their developer mailing lists. Then the prevalence of these information needs, on different mailing lists, are quantified and the responses obtained are characterized. In doing so, several interesting observations are made about the types of information these programmers seek, the likelihood that they will receive responses and the number of responses they are likely to get. The findings of this thesis largely reflect the academic articles in this area, documenting programmer's focus on implementation specific detail and team awareness. However interesting additional insights were gained with respect to the importance of the technology around software evolution in an OS context, and the programmers' design and documentation information needs. ▼ This dissertation considers the political and cultural import of Latina/os within the U.S. Armed Forces over the last four decades, from the latter years of the Vietnam War (1969) to the contemporary “Global War on Terror” (GWOT), to examine the productive tensions between U.S. military expansion and liberal racial inclusion. This study examines how the cultural meaning of race, specifically Latinidad, accrued meaning for the USAF from 1969-2006. Beginning just before the creation of the All-Volunteer Force (AVF) in 1973, Department of Defense officials, responding to intense racial turmoil and accusations of discrimination by African Americans, turned their attention towards the emerging Latina/o populace. The USAF began foregrounding Latina/o desires for national belonging, racial inclusion, and social prestige into Spanish language recruitment materials and national promotional campaigns presenting the Armed Forces as a desirable site of upward mobility, cultural recognition, and enfranchised citizenship. More broadly, I suggest that centering the racial, ethnic, and juridical identity of Latina/o participants in the military offers productive ways of interrogating the project of U.S. empire and global military hegemony after 1973. Martialing Latinidad employs multi-archival research methodologies, moving between congressional hearings, oral histories, and recently de-classified records in military archives. Martialing Latinidad argues that military authorities demonstrated a surprising interest in various Latina/o social movements, turning programmatic statements by the UFW, the Young Lords, MAYO, and land grant movements into the basis of new syllabi and ethnic studies programming for officers and NCO’s. Focusing on research reports, government studies, memos, Congressional hearings, personal and official correspondence, military periodicals, and military authored race relations training guides/ teaching syllabi demonstrate the vast transformation of military policies towards Latina/os from ancillary figures to a central role in public discussion of the future of military recruitment under the AVF. Martialing Latinidad argues for the prominent place of US military recruitment efforts in establishing the emerging visibility of Latina/os as a pan-ethnic political formation. ▼ The type III secretion injectisome is a complex nanomachine, that allows bacteria to deliver protein effectors across eukaryotic cellular membranes. In recent years, significant progress has been made in our understanding of its structure, assembly and mode of operation. In the present stage of knowledge, it consists of a basal structure that traverses the bacterial envelope and the peptidoglycan, surmounted by a needle and a filament. The whole structure can act as a hollow conduit, through which all the virulence proteins will be delivered to the cytosol of the host. A key element in the secretion system is a set of chaperones in the bacterial cytosol, the dedicated type III chaperones. Their exact role in the secretion process remains ainigmatic. The main goal of this study is the investigation of the molecular role of the CesAB chaperone from the Enteropathogenic coli (EPEC) during secretion of its substrates, EspA and EspB. In parallel we are characterizing the EscN ATPase of the system, as a final acceptor of the soluble complexes between chaperones-substrates. Firstly, we are characterizing structurally the chaperone alone or in complex with its substrate and we reveal a novel mechamism of recognition, the mutual folding during binding of a substrate to its chaperone. In parallel with biochemical experiments, we are demonstrating that the CesAB chaperone consists of two distict, functionally and structurally, domains, the N-terminal domain (N-domain) and the C-terminal tail (C-tail). Through mutagenesis to the N-domain of the protein, we are clearly showing that this domain is responsible for the chaperone-like function of CesAB, only for EspA and not EspB substrate. Then we are demonstrating that the C-tail is absolutelly essential for the effective secretion of both substrates, not only because in the absence of the C-tail the substrates cannot be secreted, but also because they cannot be localized to the membrane fraction of the cell, their natural place before secretion. In addition, we are showing that the C-tail is involved in the formation of a super-molecular complex intracellularly in the secretion pathway. The physiological significance of these two domains of the CesAB chaperone is tested using cell models, and their importance for the pathogeneceity is revealed. Finally we are managing to isolate the stable active form of the EscN ATPase of the system and meisure affinity for the C-tail of the CesAB chaperone. ▼ O trabalho em tela se trata de uma investiga??o no campo da Geografia da Religi?o que tem basicamente o objetivo de compreender a exist?ncia dos montes de ora??o na metr?pole de Manaus. Desta forma, esta pesquisa parte da constata??o emp?rica de que h? localidades espec?ficas utilizadas por grupos evang?licos de Manaus ? sobretudo pentecostais ? as quais s?o denominadas como ?montes de ora??o?. O trabalho discorre sobre a tens?o b?sica existente entre a denomina??o topon?mica dada a essas localidades pelos indiv?duos religiosos em contraposi??o com uma caracteriza??o mais geral da ci?ncia geomorfol?gica acerca do relevo de Manaus. Esta empreitada d?se inicialmente a partir do estabelecimento das bases te?ricas desta Hierogeografia abordando assim a metodologia cient?fica adotada a qual parte, sobretudo dos pressupostos te?ricos da obra de Eric Voegelin e Herman Dooyeweerd o que resulta na proposta de triangula??o metodol?gica entre instantes hipot?tico-dedutivos, fenomenol?gico-hermen?uticos e estruturalistas. Pautada nessa proposta de triangula??o a pesquisa se desdobra inicialmente caracterizando hist?rico e culturalmente a import?ncia das montanhas e sua rela??o simb?lica para com o fen?meno religioso e comparando tal pano de fundo com o contexto da ?rea de estudo em foco na pesquisa, isto ?, a metr?pole de Manaus e mais especificamente os sete montes de ora??o recortados. A apresenta??o da ?rea de estudo salienta a tens?o referida entre a denomina??o ?monte? dada pelos grupos religiosos e a caracteriza??o geomorfol?gica de Manaus. Tendo-se evidenciado que tal denomina??o de ?monte? reside sobre outra caracter?stica que n?o necessariamente a geoforma a pesquisa se aproxima do ?mago do fen?meno ao coletar e trabalhar os relatos de indiv?duos religiosos que organizam e participam das ora??es nos ?montes? em Manaus. Tal etapa evidenciou o car?ter afetivo, mas tamb?m simb?lico dos ?montes? os quais passaram a ser vistos como lugares pr?prios do fen?meno hierotopogr?fico ligado a outros fatores como a din?mica de ocupa??o do solo pelos agentes pol?ticos e econ?micos da metr?pole manauara. Percebendo a necessidade de clarear a caracteriza??o dos ?montes de ora??o? a pesquisa prossegue para a investiga??o acerca da estrutura que sustenta esse fen?meno a despeito das dificuldades ? de ordem natural (relevo plano) e social (mercadoriza??o do solo). Nesse sentido evidenciou-se a presen?a de fatores psicol?gicos ligados aos arqu?tipos do inconsciente coletivo envolvendo a figura dos montes, do dogma pentecostal do continu?smo e sua busca pela viv?ncia sobrenatural nos montes e, por fim, da a??o humana de ressignifica??o do espa?o a partir da conforma??o simb?lica. ▼ Az 1956-os forradalom és szabadságharc, valamint az azt követő megtorlás időszaka a XX. századi magyar történelem legmeghatározóbb eseményei közé tartozik. 1848 után Magyarország ismételten a világsajtó célkeresztjébe került, sőt elmondható, hogy sokáig az ENSZ is behatóan vizsgálta a magyar kérdést. Talán ebből is adódik, hogy megannyi könyv, tanulmány és cikk látott napvilágot a témában, ugyanakkor ezek többségéről megállapítható, hogy főként a budapesti történésekkel foglalkoznak, s csak igen kis számban találkozunk olyan alkotásokkal, amelyek a vidéki eseményeket dolgozzák fel.Bár dolgozatom fő vonala a debreceni események mentén mozog, mégis elengedhetetlennek tartottam, hogy az előzmények bemutatása során foglalkozzam az 1953 és 1956 között kialakult politikai viszonyokkal, valamint Nagy Imre és Rákosi Mátyás majd másfél évig tartó hatalmi harcával. Emellett megvizsgáltam a helyi forradalom előtörténetét is, amelyen belül az értelmiségi megmozdulások fontosságára helyeztem a hangsúlyt. A következő fejezet keretében hozzá láttam a forradalom napjainak feltérképezéséhez. A helyi eseményekkel foglalkozó könyvek és az összegyűjtött fontosabb dokumentumok (határozatok, jegyzőkönyvek, a korabeli sajtó írásai) alapján megpróbáltam felállítani a történések kronológiáját, valamint behatóan foglalkoztam többek között a Debreceni Szocialista Forradalmi Bizottmány, a munkástanácsok és a diákság forradalomban vállalt szerepével. A továbbiakban arra kerestem a választ, hogy mik is voltak azok a sajátosságok, amelyek a vidéki forradalom jellegzetességéül szolgáltak. Ezek után elkezdtem feltárni a szabadságharcot követő megtorlás időszakában alkalmazott módszereket, valamint azt a folyamatot, amelynek képében a retorzió megvalósult. Így vizsgamunkám következő nagyobb szakaszában ennek mintájára igyekeztem bemutatni, hogyan is működött a megtorlás debreceni gépezete.
