A presente tese tem por objetivo apresentar o modelo no qual ocorreu a eletrifica??o da cidade de Manaus, a partir da contrata??o do servi?o de ilumina??o p?blica em 1895. Por meio da investiga??o das inter-rela??es entre o Poder Pol?tico e o Poder Econ?mico, procurou-se desvendar o papel da eletricidade nas din?micas sociais e no desenvolvimento urbano da cidade de Manaus. A partir do pressuposto que a populariza??o da eletricidade como matriz energ?tica pudesse trazer n?o somente benef?cios econ?micos, mas tamb?m benef?cios pol?ticos aos governantes, a abordagem contextual foi utilizada para situar o ambiente pol?tico e econ?mico em que se configurou o sistema de eletricidade em Manaus, ao longo do per?odo temporal estudado. A an?lise dos fatos e eventos descritos na tese levou ? conclus?o de que a eletrifica??o da cidade de Manaus ocorreu por meio de uma depend?ncia do capital em rela??o ? pol?tica, uma vez que o setor p?blico ?, desde o in?cio, o respons?vel pela elabora??o das pol?ticas p?blicas que envolvem a eletricidade, al?m de ser o maior cliente individual das empresas exploradoras de energia e, ao mesmo tempo, o agente regulador dos servi?os. Este modelo de eletrifica??o adotado em Manaus seguiu o modelo das demais cidades Brasileiras, e esta depend?ncia pol?tica do capital ainda se mant?m como regra no atual sistema el?trico do pa?s.

This thesis aims to present the model in which Manaus Electrification took place, starting from the 1895 public lighting contracting by the State of Amazonas. Through the investigation of the Political Power and Economic Power interrelationships, we sought to find out the role of electricity in Manaus social dynamics and urban development. Based on the popularization of electricity, as an energy matrix, could bring not only economic benefits but also political benefits to government rulers, the contextual approach was used to situate the political and economic environment in which the electricity system was developed in Manaus, over the studied time period. Described facts and events? analysis led to conclude that Manaus electrification happened under a strong economic subjection on politics, since the public administration has been, since its beginning, responsible for electricity public policies development. Also, Governments have always been the largest energy companies customers as well as the electricity services regulators.Manaus electrification model followed other Brazilian cities model, where political subjection of economics still remains as a rule at the national electrical system.

Neste trabalho foi caracterizado um ?leo vegetal nativo na regi?o amaz?nica, ?leo de buriti, com intuito de verificar sua aplica??o como um fluido diel?trico. Os ?leos isolantes j? comercializados, em sua maioria na produ??o de transformadores, s?o provenientes do petr?leo, uma fonte n?o renov?vel e poluente. Neste contexto, a utiliza??o de ?leo vegetal como um fluido diel?trico ? vantajosa devido ser biodegrad?vel e sustent?vel. Para essa aplica??o, o ?leo ? respons?vel por evitar curto entre bobinas prim?ria/secund?ria e resfriamento (dissipa??o de calor para o meio) do equipamento. Atualmente, existem normas estabelecidas para avaliar os par?metros para an?lise de ?leos isolantes tanto mineral quanto de base vegetal. O ?leo do fruto do buriti foi submetido aos ensaios f?sico-qu?micos e el?trico para verificar suas possibilidades na aplica??o como isolante el?trico em transformadores para distribui??o de energia. Foram realizados tratamentos f?sico-qu?micos no ?leo bruto para melhorar suas propriedades. Com base nos valores m?nimos e m?ximos exigidos na norma NBR15422, o ?leo de buriti demonstrou nos ensaios do ponto de fulgor equivalente a temperatura de 325?C, para o teor de ?gua foi feito a leitura de 83,3 ppm ap?s tratamento, na rigidez diel?trica o ?leo suportou uma tens?o de 52,5 Kv e a densidade do ?leo de buriti ? de 0,911 g.cm-3 com esses valores obtidos o ?leo de buriti est? apto para ser colocado dentro de um transformador para analises em campo. Com esses ensaios, foi poss?vel observar que o ?leo de buriti comporta-se melhor que ?leos isolantes vegetais comercializados para as ind?strias de transformadores, por?m nas an?lises de cor e acidez, o ?leo apresentou caracter?sticas fora das normas, mas nos par?metros que o ?leo de buriti n?o demostrou boas caracter?stica, ? poss?vel realizar tratamentos para uma melhor parametriza??o e atingir o valor preconizado em norma.

In this work, a native vegetable oil was characterized in the Amazon region, buruti oil, in order to verify its application as a dielectric fluid. Insulating oils already marketed, mostly in the production of transformers, are derived from oil, a non-renewable source and pollutant. In this context, the use of vegetable oil as a dielectric fluid is advantageous due to being biodegradable and sustainable. For this application, the oil should be responsible for avoiding short between primary/secondary coils and cooling (heat dissipation to the medium). Currently, there are standards established to evaluate the parameters for analysis of insulating oils both mineral and vegetable-based. Buriti fruit oil was submitted to physical-chemical and electrical tests to verify its possibilities in the application as electrical insulator of energy distribution transformers. A constru??o civil tem papel relevante quando se trata de meio ambiente, uma vez que a mesma gera muitos impactos, seja pelos recursos que demanda, seja pelos res?duos que gera, e isso tanto na etapa de constru??o quanto ao longo da vida ?til. Uma das formas de tornar uma constru??o mais sustent?vel ? levar em conta aspectos de efici?ncia energ?tica.Na cidade de Manaus, pode-se observar que as casas que aparentemente levam em conta os aspectos clim?ticos s?o aquelas constru?das durante o per?odo ?ureo da borracha, uma vez que possu?am esquadrias amplas, p?s direitos altos, paredes grossas, entre outros aspectos construtivos que s?o necess?rios para que as constru??es proporcionem um m?nimo de conforto t?rmico nessa regi?o.A pesquisa em quest?o, portanto, tem por objetivo encontrar o n?vel de efici?ncia energ?tica atrav?s da metodologia de certifica??o de efici?ncia energ?tica do Selo Procel, em resid?ncias constru?das pela elite entre os anos de 1890 e 1920 e avaliar a aplicabilidade deste m?todo nessas resid?ncias. partir dos resultados obtidos, observou-se que 55,56% das resid?ncias atingiram n?veis ?timos de desempenho energ?tico, chegando uma resid?ncia a atingir a m?xima pontua??o, ainda que em todas as resid?ncias, as temperaturas internas aferidas tenham sido superiores ?s registradas externamente.Dessa forma, entre outras conclus?es que podem ser feitas a partir dos resultados obtidos, foi que as resid?ncias constru?das no auge da borracha foram pensadas para proporcionar o m?ximo de conforto utilizando a ventila??o natural, e que apesar das resid?ncias estudadas terem sido constru?das h? mais de um s?culo, elas atenderam a aspectos de efici?ncia energ?tica que foram formalizados muitos anos depois.

Civil construction plays an important role when it comes to the environment, as it generates many impacts, either by the resources it requires or by the waste it generates, and this both at the construction stage and throughout its useful life. One of the ways to make a building more sustainable is to take energy efficiency aspects into account. In the city of Manaus, it can be observed that the houses that apparently take into account the climatic aspects are those built during the golden age of rubber once which had wide frames, high ceilings, thick walls, among other constructive aspects that are necessary for the buildings to provide a minimum of thermal comfort in this region. The research in question, therefore, aims to find the level of energy efficiency through Procel Seal's energy efficiency certification methodology in elite-built residences between 1890 and 1920 and evaluate the applicability of this method to these residences. From the results obtained, it was observed that 55,56% of the households reached the optimum levels of energy performance, reaching a household reaching the maximum score, although in all households, the internal temperatures measured were higher than those registered externally. With decreasing costs and increasing performance, the deployment of renewable energy systems is now growing faster than in the past decade. In 2017, for the first time, the number of people without access to electricity dipped below 1 billion, but trends in energy access still fall short of global goals. Particular attention is given to stand-alone solar photovoltaic systems in rural areas or where grid extension is unfeasible. Tools to evaluate or to size electrification projects are available, but they are based on simulations that do not cover all aspects of the design space. However, the use of formal methods to model and validate any system has grown with time, mainly to find bugs in sophisticated hardware and software systems: they aim to establish system correctness with mathematical rigor. The use of formal methods in electrical systems is a new subject, with published research spanning only the last four years. Moreover, the use of automated synthesis in order to obtain optimal sizing of solar photovoltaic systems has never been done before. This thesis marks the achievement of two major goals: first, the application of software model checking to verify formally the design of a stand-alone solar photovoltaic system, including solar panel, charge controller, battery, inverter, and electric load; second, a sound, automated approach to obtaining optimal sizing of stand-alone photovoltaic systems using program synthesis. For the formal verification, we used case studies from real photovoltaic systems deployed in five different sites, ranging from 975 W to 1,300 W, in order to evaluate the proposed approach and to compare it with a specialized simulation tool. Different verification tools are evaluated also, in order to compare performance and soundness. Data from practical applications show the effectiveness of our proposed approach, where specific conditions that lead to failures in a photovoltaic solar system are detailed only by the automated verification method. In addition, for the use of program synthesis, we propose a variant of the counterexample guided inductive synthesis (CEGIS) approach. This variant has two phases linking the technical and the cost analysis. First, we synthesize a feasible candidate based on power reliability, but which may not attain the lowest cost. Second, the candidate is then verified iteratively with a lower bound cost via symbolic model checking. If the verification step succeeds, the lower bound is adjusted; if it fails, a counterexample provides the optimal solution. The proposed synthesis method is novel and unprecedented as it streamlines the design of photovoltaic systems. Experimental results using seven case studies demonstrate that our synthesis method can produce optimal system sizing within an acceptable run-time. We also present a comparison with a specialized simulation tool over real photovoltaic systems in order to show the effectiveness of our approach, which can provide a more detailed and accurate solution than the simulation tool.

▼ This exploratory study discusses on which are the criteria adopted, for the selection of suppliers in the Brazilian electrical sector, by companies with head offices in 16 Latin-American countries; and the existing relationship between those criteria and the answers obtained from Brazilian suppliers. First of all, we made a literary review relative to the research problem, and interviews with experts in the GTD (Generation, Transmission and Distribution of Electrical Energy) sector, where 32 variables were identified and used for the elaboration of the Survey Instrument in the Likert scale. Later, this instrument was applied to 191 respondents, being 86 of foreign companies and 105 Brazilian companies. Through the factorial analysis, the most important factors for the selection of the suppliers were identified, which are : Service and Relationship Capacity (Factor 1) ;Technical and Technological Aspects (Factor 2) ;Business Facilitators ( Factor 3); Quality and Warranty of the Products( Factor 4); Commitment and Reliability of the Products (Factor 5);Reputation of the Suppliers( Factor 6);Financial Aspects ( Factor 7). The above mentioned factors were identified as a function of four variables: 1. Origin of the Company's Corporate Capital; 2. Geographic Localization; 3. Annual Invoicing; and 4. Position of the Respondents of the surveyed companies. Through the discrimination analysis, it was noticed that the Service and Relationship Capacity factor was the one that showed the best concordance among the respondents, showing the importance in obtaining constant improvements in these items, between suppliers and purchasers. It was also noticed that the Price criterion, independently of the four mentioned variables, is considered important for all the respondents. This study offers to the purchase departments, the opportunities for the elaboration of new selection and evaluation instruments of suppliers.
