Esta dissertação apresenta os resultados de uma pesquisa cujo objetivo principal foi identificar e compreender as ações de cunho social empreendidas pelo prelado Dom José Vicente Silveira Távora em Sergipe (1958-1970). Tais ações foram, aqui, relacionadas aos sentidos e disposições instituídas no campo católico brasileiro no intervalo de 1930 a 1970 e ao debate acerca da questão social que impulsionou a Doutrina Social da Igreja no Brasil. Busca-se também, evidenciar os seguintes aspectos: emergência, estratégias, práticas, discursos e bens simbólicos oferecidos por este prelado. Assim, a análise das ações sociais de Dom Távora em Sergipe pressupõe, antes de tudo, a compreensão dos sentidos do referido campo religioso, bem como, da posição deste agente no interior desta esfera social nas décadas de 1950 e 1960, período sob o signo da gênese da esquerda católica e suas ambições transformadoras. Pressupõe-se que as ações sociais implantadas por Dom Távora em Sergipe estão diretamente associadas à defesa de um modelo de Igreja manifestado pela facção reformista do clero brasileiro ao qual ele estava vinculado. Ademais, é percebido que as imagens a ele atribuídas foram fruto de uma construção de carreira em defesa de uma ação direta da Igreja com relação à questão social, bem como de sua aproximação com o campo intelectual e político no Brasil.

This dissertation presents results of a study whose main objective was to identify and understand the social actions taken by the bishop Don José Vicente Silveira Távora in Sergipe (1958-1970). Such actions were here related to the senses and provisions established in the Brazilian Catholic field since 1930 to 1970 and to the discussion about the social issue that drove the Social Doctrine of the Church in Brazil. We also seek to highlight the following aspects: emergence, strategies, practices, discourses and symbolic goods offered by this bishop. Thus, the analysis of social actions of Dom Távora in Sergipe requires, above all, understanding the senses of that religious field, as well as the positions of the agent within this social sphere in the 1950s and 1960s, a period under the sign of the genesis of the catholic left and of its transformative ambitions. Its supposed that the social actions implemented by Dom Távora in Sergipe are directly associated with the defense of a Church model, which is manifested by the reform faction of the Brazilian clergy to which he was linked. Moreover, its noted that the pictures attributed to him were the result of a construction career in defense of a direct action of the Church regarding the social issue, as well as its proximity to the intellectual and political field in Brazil.

O Granito Três Figueiras representa a única ocorrência de granitos peraluminosos no extremo sudeste do Cinturão Dom Feliciano (RS), sendo um granitoide sincinemático à Zona de Cisalhamento Arroio Grande. O objetivo deste trabalho é a caracterizaração geológica do granito, através de estudos de campo, microscopia óptica, geoquímica de rocha total (ICP-MS) e datações U-Pb em zircão (SHRIMP). O granito é cinza claro, composto por quartzo, K-feldspato, plagioclásio, muscovita, biotita (M‟ 7-10), com granada, turmalina, zircão, monazita e apatita como minerais acessórios. Nas porções afetadas pela zona de cisalhamento, desenvolve uma trama milonítica com foliação tectônica subvertical com mergulho > 70° para SE e lineação de estiramento sub-horizontal marcada pelas micas e agregados estirados de quartzo e feldspato, com direção N80°E e caimento de até 10° para ENE, que demonstram o caráter transcorrente desta zona. Nos termos milonitizados, o arranjo da matriz chega a apresentar textura granoblástica poligonal, recristalização parcial de dos cristais de feldspatos e a formação de mirmequitos por deformação, o que indicam temperaturas de deformação de pelo menos 550°C. Indicadores cinemáticos como feldspatos com cauda de recristalização assimétricas, pares S-C, atestam uma cinemática destral para essa zona. O granito é classificado como peraluminoso, com teores de A/CNK entre 1,07 e 1,21 e coríndon normativo entre 1,2 a 3 %. Possui altos teores de SiO2, Al2O3, álcalis, e baixos teores de FeO, MgO e TiO2. Apresenta correlação negativa para a maioria dos elementos maiores, o que indica que o principal processo de evolução magmática foi a cristalização fracionada. Uma fonte homogênea é sugerida a partir da relação entre elementos traços e ETR. Com a datação U-Pb se obteve uma idade de cristalização magmática de 585 ± 16 Ma, que registra um importante eventode fusão crustal para o extremo sudeste do Cinturão Dom Feliciano.

The TrêsFigueiras Granite represents the occurrence of peraluminous granite in the southeastern Dom Feliciano Belt, representing a sinkynematic rock to the Arroio Grande Shear Zone. The aim of this work is to make the geologic characterization of the granite through field studies, optic microscopy, geochemistry and U-Pb geochronology. The granite is light grey coloured composed by quartz, K-feldspar, plagioclase, muscovite, biotite (M‟ 7-10), with garnet, tourmaline, zircon, monazite and apatite as accessory minerals. When affetected by shear zone, it develops a mylonitic fabric with subvertical tectonic foliation with dip >70° for SE and a stretching lineation marked by elongated micas and aggregates of quartz and feldspar, both with a N80°E trend dipping 10° ENE. On the milonitc terms the matrix shows granoblasticpolygonal texture, parcialrecristalization of feldspar and formation of mirmequite by deformation which indicates deformation temperatures of at least 550°C. Kynematic indicators like assimetric tails in feldspar and S-C pair define a dextral kinematic to this zone. The granite is classified…

▼ Dissolved organic matter (DOM) is found in all freshwaters globally, by dissolving in rainwaterduring its path through soil and on to oceans via. rivers and streams. To provide potable water fit for human consumption, selected streams and rivers are used by either direct abstraction, or by diversion into reservoirs prior to treatment. For ca.100 years, chlorine and its compounds have been used by water treatment companies to disinfect water. However, research has shown that reactions between chlorine and DOM can produce compounds (disinfection by-products, or DBPs) which may be hazardous to human health. This thesis explores the relationship between catchment character, organic matter concentration, and the potential formation of DBPs. In particular, trihalomethanes (THMs) were measured as these are currently the only regulated DBPs in the UK. To achieve this, water samples were collected quarterly over one year from two contrasting catchments, to study seasonal variations in DOM concentration and character. A third catchment was also sampled, with similar catchment characters to the first two catchments, to determine whether geographical location and land use types affected the data. Each catchment was studied to see if catchment characteristics (e.g. class of vegetation, soil type or bedrock) could be mapped using a Geographical Information Systems (GIS) approach), to observe any effects on DOM and/or the DBPs found in treated water, with the aim of producing a risk assessment map to aid the choice of future abstraction locations for drinking water. Hence, samples were chlorinated and chloraminatedin the laboratory before being analysed for DBP formation and residual chlorine concentrations were measured. Catchment specific GIS derived data were statistically analysed with water chemistry data, and detected relationships were explored statistically. Major findings include medium to strong positive correlations between the standardised THM4 (STHM4 - the concentration of THM4 formed from 1 mg L-1 dissolved organic carbon (DOC)) concentration and geology, where an increase of the area of inland rock in a catchment increases STHM4 concentration. Medium strength positive correlations were found between STHM4 and vegetation classes, where, as the area of acid grassland, and heather increase, so does the concentration of STHM4. Negative relationships were discovered showing the obverse, where, as loamy and clayey floodplain soils with naturally high groundwater increased in area, STHM4 concentration dropped (at the Hampshire Avon ii and Conwy catchments combined). The occurrence of coniferous woodland in a catchment was found to correlate with the CHCl3 formation potential of waters (Pearsons, f=0.530, p= < 0.05, n=20), supporting findings in published literature. Laboratory based chlorination and chloramination of sample waters, followed by gas chromatography provided DBP data, specifically THM4. These data show that more chloroform was formed after chlorination than chloramination, and that chloramination formed 3 times…

▼ Background. Websites of 2020 are often feature rich and highly interactive applications. JavaScript is a popular programming language for the web, with many frameworks available. A common denominator for highly interactive web applications is the need for efficient methods of manipulating the Document Object Model to enable a solid user experience. Objectives. This study compares Vanilla JavaScript and the JavaScript frameworks Angular, React and Vue.js in regards to DOM performance, DOM manipulation methodology and application size. Methods. A literature study was conducted to compare the DOM manipulation methodologies of Vanilla JavaScript and the selected frameworks. An experiment was conducted where test applications was created using Vanilla JavaScript and the selected frameworks. These applications were used as base for comparing application size and for comparison tests of DOM performance related metrics using Google Chrome and Firefox. Results. In regards to DOM manipulation methodology, there is a distinct difference between Vanilla JavaScript and the selected frameworks. In Vanilla JavaScript DOM manipulation is handled by direct interaction with the DOM interface. When using the selected frameworks the actual interaction with the DOM interface is abstracted away from the developer and handled by the framework. While React and Vue.js both have implemented a Virtual DOM to optimize DOM interactions, Angular has implemented Incremental DOM. Vanilla JavaScript had the best DOM performance in all tests and the smallest application size. Amongst the frameworks React had the best DOM performance, Angular performed close to React in nearly all test, and Vue.js was slightly slower in most tests. In nearly all tests the applications performed better in Google Chrome. Conclusions. Vanilla JavaScript and the selected frameworks, and thereby their DOM manipulation methodologies, are all feasible alternatives for creating interactive web applications with high DOM performance. Tests indicate that Vanilla JavaScript and the selected frameworks achieves better DOM performance in Google Chrome compared to Firefox.

▼ This dissertation focuses on a grammatical structure known as Differential Object Marking (DOM). DOM is the morphological marker that marks some but not all direct objects based on hierarchies such as animacy or referentiality (Aissen, 2008). In Spanish, the language that is the subject of this dissertation, animate and specific objects are marked with DOM, as in Juan ve a María ‘Juan sees DOM María’. However, as suggested by several recent studies (von Heusinguer & Kaiser, 2005; Tippets, 2010; Bautista-Maldonado & Montrul, 2019), considerable DOM variation exists when observed in actual usage. For example, in some communities, DOM is extending to inanimate objects, as in Juan ve al programa ‘Juan sees DOM the TV show’. In others, DOM is retracting and is being omitted with animate objects, as in Juan ve María ‘Juan sees María’. The aim of this dissertation is to understand the sources of these variations by analyzing Mexican Spanish, a dialect that has been shown to extend DOM to inanimate objects (e.g. von Heusinguer & Kaiser, 2005), and Spanish of the U.S., which appears to be omitting DOM with animate objects (Montrul & Sánchez-Walker, 2013). DOM variation has mostly been studied from a sociolinguistic perspective by analyzing speakers’ oral or written production. While informative, production cannot reveal everything. This dissertation aims to study DOM variation from a multidisciplinary perspective with the use of experimental tasks. Few studies on language variation have implemented a psycholinguistic methodology. Therefore, little is known about the way in which language variation is cognitively represented. In this dissertation, a group of monolingual native speakers from Mexico (N=32) and a group of Spanish-English bilinguals from the U.S., comprised of heritage speakers (N=35) and second language (L2) learners (N=42), completed four tasks. An oral narrative task and an oral elicitation task were used to analyze participants’ production of DOM. An acceptability judgment task (AJT) served to test subtle knowledge of DOM variation. Finally, a reading task with eye-tracking examined participant’s online comprehension. The reading task aimed to examine whether DOM variation is already part of participants’ performance. Sentences used in the AJT and the reading task with eye-tracking varied by the use or omission of DOM, the animacy of the object and the word order of the sentence (Montrul, 2013; Arechabaleta-Regulez, 2016; Jegerski & Sekerina, 2019). Results showed that DOM variation exists in Mexican Spanish; however, variation depended on the type of task and the type of sentence. For monolingual Mexican Spanish speakers, DOM extension was not observable in spontaneous oral production, but it manifested in participants’ judgments and especially in their processing mechanisms. ▼ In the last decade, there has been increasing use of optical measurements to gain insight into dissolved organic matter (DOM) composition, and more specifically to identify DOM source in aquatic systems. However, there are few controlled studies which examine the effects of environmental processing on different sources of DOM. Here, DOM optical properties of five endmember sources???including peat soil, plant and algae leachates???were investigated following biological and photochemical degradation during a three-month incubation period. As microbial processing of DOM occurs independent of being in the photic zone, the effects of photoexposure were examined at various points along the biodegradation curve to simulate photodegradation occurring as microorganisms consumed and transformed the bioavailable DOM. Samples were analyzed for dissolved organic carbon (DOC) concentration, absorbance, and fluorescence. Optical parameters commonly used to determine DOM composition were then analyzed to determine their effectiveness in discriminating original DOM source and in distinguishing between microbial and photochemical alteration. The qualitative optical parameters included DOC-normalized absorbance values (SpA254, SpA280, SpA350, SpA370 SpA412, SpA440, SpA488, SpA510, SpA532, SpA555); absorbance spectra slopes (S275-295, S290-350 and S350-400) and the UV slope ratio (SR); DOC-normalized fluorescence peaks (SpA, SpC, SpM, SpD, SpB, SpT, SpN, SpZ), fluorescence peak ratios (C:M, C:T, C:A, A:T); fluorescence indices (FI, HIX, ??:??, BIX); and five components determined by Parallel Factor Analysis (PARAFAC; %C1-5). While there was little change in DOC concentration in the soil leachate over the study period, DOC concentrations in plant and algae leachates decreased by over 70% within the first three days of biodegradation. This rapid loss of DOC in the plant and algal leachates suggests the majority of DOM leached from these materials is unlikely to persist in the environment, and thus is unlikely to make up a significant fraction of the DOM pool in most natural samples. This emphasizes the need to use the signature of processed DOM to identify original source material. Individual qualitative optical parameters changed extensively as DOM composition was altered following both biodegradation and photodegradation, particularly in the plant and algal leachates. These changes frequently resulted in overlapping optical parameter values which made it impossible to identify original source material. In particular, the sometimes opposing effects of biological and photochemically-driven changes on DOM optical signature can confound source identification; for example, this effect of one degradation process masking the signal from the other was notably apparent for SUVA where values increased with biological degradation and decreased following photoexposure, suggesting that using this parameter alone can generate inconsistent and disparate conclusions about DOM composition and source. ▼ Arsenic is a notorious poison due to its high toxicity, worldwide distribution, and lack of any taste and colour once dissolved. The abundance of arsenic in Earth’s crust makes that it can naturally find its way into food and drinking water. Rapid and reliable detection of arsenic, directly in the field, is critical to support evidence-based decision-making in choosing irrigation or drinking water sources. Current cost-effective colourimetric techniques are associated with poor accuracy, health risks, and unacceptable levels of false negatives. Arsenic-specific cellular sensors, or biosensors, may present an inexpensive, safe, and renewable alternative, yet they have long been criticized for unsatisfactory sensing performance, and inconsistency of the outcome. This, in addition to the lack of suitable instruments capable of measuring the signals produced by these biosensors, has led to very few solutions reaching market. The goal of my thesis research was to test hypotheses that improve our fundamental understanding of As species biogeochemistry in simple and complex environmental matrices to then develop a new arsenic monitoring interface, one that would be both simple and accessible to the general public. Using a combination of wild-type and mutant strains, I managed to detail both the internal regulation of arsenic, and the external drivers of arsenic bioavailability. I started by designing a defined exposure protocol that achieved, for the first time, equimolar uptake of over 94% of the added As(III) and As(V) into the cells. By developing this control early into my thesis, I then worked to reintroduce commonly found constituents of environmental waters that are thought to impact arsenic uptake. This direct testing approach uncovered fundamentals of environmental arsenic redox chemistry such as As(III) photooxidation in solution, environmental ligand exchanges, and biological transport pathways. Simplifying a complex exposure protocol for use by the general public required automation of the data analysis steps. This consists of several hundred lines of code, capable of analyzing, normalizing and stabilizing biosensor output to improve the consistency and robustness of this system. These algorithms were then integrated into a new arsenic monitoring interface, one that was built and designed specifically for dehydrated biosensors. This portable, low-cost spectrometer achieved a fluorescent detection range that rivals expensive and sophisticated laboratory equipment at a fraction of the price, and without the need for a computer to compile the measurements. In contrast to highly criticized colorimetric techniques, the biosensor exposure protocol exceeds in operational use, reliability and detection limit. At its core, my thesis research provides a new and complete arsenic testing solution, one capable of measuring both As(III) and As(V) at levels relevant to the World Health Organization and Canadian guidelines for arsenic content in water (10 µg/L). ▼ A literatura e o cinema, embora possuam linguagens diferentes, visto que enquanto este se utiliza predominantemente de uma linguagem audiovisual aquela faz uso de uma linguagem verbal, ambos apresentam um traço característico que consiste na possibilidade de narrar um enredo ficcional. Esse traço é um dos responsáveis pela relação existente entre essas duas artes. Relação essa acentuada no processo de adaptação de uma arte para a outra. Pensando nisso, essa dissertação consiste em um estudo sobre a adaptação do romance Dom Casmurro, de Machado de Assis, para o cinema. Para tanto foram escolhidos para compor o corpus dessa pesquisa o filme Capitu, de Paulo Cézar Saraceni e o roteiro homônimo escrito por Lygia Fagundes Telles e Paulo Emilio Salles Gomes. Nosso objetivo é analisar como se deu a transposição da narrativa de uma linguagem para a outra, observando o tratamento cedido a elementos narrativos estruturais do romance nesse processo de adaptação. Verificando como cada expressão artística apresenta as categorias: trama, focalização e personagem, assim como a interpretação gerada por cada obra. A fim de fundamentar a nossa pesquisa nos apoiamos em alguns teóricos e críticos da literatura e do cinema. Nas análises de aspectos narrativos buscamos, para ambas as artes, autores da teoria literária como o formalista russo Tomachevski (1976), Gérard Genette (s/d), Antonio Candido (2007), Todorov (2008) e da crítica referente a Dom Casmurro. Em relação ao cinema, a fim de esclarecer questões referentes à adaptação, utilizamos reflexões de teóricos como Robert Stam (2003), Brian McFarlane (1996), Ismail Xavier (1996; 2003) e João Batista de Brito (1995; 2006; 2007). Concluímos que a forma como os acontecimentos são reordenados e apresentados para nós espectadores, tanto pelo filme quanto pelo roteiro alterou a construção dos personagens e a relação destes com os episódios do livro. O tema da identidade promoveu muitas pesquisas sobre a obra de Machado de Assis. Tal tema está ancorado numa questão ontológica. Buscando evitar essa questão, a noção de devir nos permitiu uma mudança de perspectiva. A vontade de saber sobre a personagem Capitu, presente em muitos teóricos, pareceu-nos um sintoma do privilégio da ontologia em relação à reflexão sobre a alteridade. Pensamos que essa vontade de saber é uma forma específica para assimilar o outro. A narrativa de Casmurro pretende dar uma identidade a Capitu, contrapondo, de forma binária, uma verdadeira Capitu a outra dissimulada. Em função disso, constrói uma lógica causal comprometida com a preocupação ontológica. Impotente diante da alteridade do outro, a consciência do narrador se ressente. Acreditamos que ele escreve como meio de lidar com o ressentimento na sua experiência do passado. Essa escrita, que também lhe escapa como a alteridade do outro, pode proporcionar uma ruptura com a moral do ressentimento, projetando no porvir uma expectativa de modificação. Para tal, recorremos à teoria de Jacques Derrida a fim de demonstrar o devir da escrita no romance Dom Casmurro de Machado de Assis e seu poder transformador.

The theme of identity produced much research on the work of Machado de Assis. This theme is based on an ontological question. On the attempt to avoid this issue, the notion of becoming allowed a different perspective. The desire to know about the character Capitu, observed in many theorists, seemed a symptom of the privilege of ontology in relation to reflection on otherness. We think that this desire to know is a specific way to assimilate the other. The narrative of Casmurro aims to give an identity to Capitu, in contrast, in binary form, a real Capitu to an other dissembled. As a result, it builds a causal logic committed to the ontological concern. Powerless against the otherness of the other, the consciousness of the narrator resents. We believe that he writes as a means of dealing with the resentment in his own experience of past. This writing, which also eludes him as the otherness of the other, can provide a disruption with the moral of the resentment, projecting on the time to come an expectation of some change. With this objective, we use the theory of Jacques Derrida to demonstrate the becoming of the writing in the novel Don Casmurro from Machado de Assis - and its transformative power.

▼ The industry of an emergent genre known as “mashup” is growing since the 80’s to our present day. Initially at the computational sphere, throughout he junction between two or more softwares, it was no longer exclusively a technical term, but it also became a practice which was also expanded to others spheres at society, such as the literary through the rewriting of literary world masterpieces. “Pride and prejudice”, for example, by Jane Austen, was rewrote with the title “Pride and prejudice and zombies”, in which the author Seth Grahame Smith writes the book in an alleged partnership with the English writer, deceased at 1817. As this industry grows, including the rewriting of Brazilian literature masterpieces, this paper intends to analyze, under the optics of the Bakhtinian discourse analysis, the dialogical relationships that appears between the original book and its rewriting, explicating how the construction of the rewrote text is made, in a constant dialogue with the original. To do so, the chosen books were Dom Casmurro, a Brazilian literature classic, by Machado de Assis, and Dom Casmurro e os discos voadores, the revisisted book by the author Lúcio Manfredi. During the corpus analysis, the concepts of carnival and hybridization were constant at the books, proving that the mashup narrative brings up the trash element to its core and it also promotes storyline and character changes in order to adapt the narrative to its new environment. This a research included at the Applied linguistics area and it has qualitative-interpretative character, on a social-historic basis. Corpus analysis indicates that not only the dialogical relations, but also bakhtinian’s carnival are present at the book’s literal mashup in a frequent way, since we find many quotes in which the books are in a dialogical relationship, being whether dissonant or not. The presence of trash culture elements (aliens, in this case) corroborates with bakhtinian’s carnival. Thus, it is believed that the analysis result is consistent with the proposed research objectives. ▼ Mercury (Hg) transport in streams is typically facilitated by dissolved organic matter (DOM), however, the dynamics of Hg and DOM during snowmelt in montane watersheds are poorly understood. Hg transport during snowmelt is widely recognized as a significant source of Hg to downstream lakes and reservoirs, such as Jordanelle Reservoir where fish consumption advisories are in effect due to elevated Hg concentrations in certain species of fish. For this study, total mercury (THg), methylmercury (MeHg), and DOM samples were collected at three sites in the upper Provo River, northern Utah, during the 2016 and 2017 water years. To evaluate Hg and DOM sources, samples were collected from snowpack and ephemeral streams in the watershed. In-situ fluorescent DOM (fDOM) data and other parameters were measured in the river to characterize high-frequency variation in water chemistry. Excitation-emissions matrices (EEMs) were used to determine changes in DOM characteristics during snowmelt. Hg concentrations increased in the upper Provo River from <1 ng/L during baseflow to >;7 ng/L during the snowmelt period (~April-July), with filtered THg concentrations approximately ~75% of the unfiltered concentrations. In the watershed, filtered THg concentrations ranged from ~0.4 ng/L in snowpack to ~8 ng/L in ephemeral streams. Annual THg loading from the Provo River to Jordanelle Reservoir was approximately 1 kg/yr with ~90% of the flux occurring during the snowmelt period. High correlations between filtered THg and fDOM allowed for the development of a high frequency filtered THg proxy using in-situ fDOM sensors. DOM characteristic during the snowmelt period showed that Hg transport was facilitated by humic substances which was sourced from upland soils. Fractions of filtered methylmercury (MeHg) and filtered THg (filtered MeHG:filtered THg) were ~0.1 during baseflow and reduced to ~0.01 during snowmelt, implying that snowmelt runoff has little impact on the MeHg flux to Jordanelle Reservoir. The results suggest that Hg and DOM are flushed from soils during snowmelt, and that a significant majority of the Hg flux occurs the snowmelt period. Our study has implications for understanding Hg sources and transport mechanisms in other snowmelt dominated watersheds.

Umweltstress beeinflusst die biochemische Zusammensetzung von Mikroalgen, was häufig zur Bildung reaktiver Sauerstoffspezies (ROS) führt. Radikalfänger (Antioxidantien) können biologische Systeme gegen ROS und freie Radikale schützen, indem sie diese Radikale aus den Medien entfernen. Mikroalgen können Antioxidantien zur Abwehr schädlicher freier Radikale produzieren und sind somit eine potentielle Quelle für Antioxidantien. Antioxidantien sind auch Teil des gelösten organischen Materials (dissolved organic matter, DOM) in den Meeren. Über die Produktion und Freisetzung von Antioxidantien durch marines Phytoplankton (Mikroalgen) unter Beeinflussung verschiedener Nährstoffregimen ist jedoch wenig bekannt. In dieser Studie wurden drei nicht-axenische marine Phytoplanktonarten (Chaetoceros affinis, Cylindrotheca fusiformis, Picochlorum sp.) unter verschiedenen Stickstoff zu Phosphor (N:P) Verhältnissen gezüchtet. Das durch Phytoplankton freigesetzte DOM wurde durch Festphasenextraktion (solid phase extraction, SPE) extrahiert und die antioxidative Aktivität des DOM wurde unter Verwendung der kolorimetrischen DPPH (2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl) Analyse gemessen. Darüber hinaus wurde DOM aus unterschiedlicher Tiefen der Wassersäule im Roten Meer untersucht um seine antioxidative Aktivität zu bestimmen. DOM, das im Roten Meer gesammelt wurde, sowie DOM, welches durch Phytoplankton-Kulturen produziert wurde, zeigte antioxidative Aktivität. Zusammenfassend wurde die höchste antioxidative Aktivität in jenen Phytoplankton-Kulturen nachgewiesen, welche unter Phosphor-Limitierung gezüchtet wurden, wohingegen die niedrigste antioxidative Aktivität in Stickstofflimitierten Kulturen nachgewiesen wurde. Die gesamte antioxidative Aktivität im DOM war bei beiden Kieselalgenarten ähnlich (Chaetoceros affinis, Cylindrotheca fusiformis). Zusammenfassend zeigten die Ergebnisse, dass Antioxidantien im gelösten organischen Material, welches von marinen Phytoplankton produziert wurde vorhanden sind, aber Nährstoffstress möglicherweise keine effektive Strategie für einige Phytoplanktonarten ist, um die Freisetzung von antioxidativen DOM zu verstärken.

Environmental stress affects the biochemical composition of microalgae frequently resulting in the generation of reactive oxygen species (ROS). Free radical scavengers (antioxidants) can protect biological systems against ROS. Phytoplankton can produce antioxidants as a defence against the harmful free radicals and thus are a potential source of antioxidants. Antioxidants are also part of the dissolved organic matter (DOM) in the ocean. Little is known, however, about the antioxidant production and release by marine phytoplankton under different nutrient regimes. In this study, three non-axenic marine phytoplankton species (Chaetoceros affinis, Cylindrotheca fusiformis, Picochlorum sp.) were grown under different N:P ratios. Este trabalho dissertativo incide sobre o patrimônio cultural construído pela Casa de Bragança no Brasil, e os caminhos que determinaram por fim neste patrimônio por meio de um Leilão no Paço Imperial, em finais do século XIX. É um estudo reconduzido por trilhas e confronto da trajetória das práticas culturais de legitimação pela sociedade e políticas públicas. Permeia as tradições forjadas pelo Rei e Imperadores por expressões da representação do poder para além da hereditariedade, somados ao vínculo familiar que influenciaram a expansão dos bens, revelando, no contexto político, as vicissitudes no processo de construção da nação brasileira, bem como na deposição do regime monárquico, culminando no desmembramento dos bens públicos e privados do último Imperador e de sua família. No âmbito específico da reflexão cultural, o processo investigativo engendrou a discussão nos novos aportes dos “lugares de memória” e do patrimônio formado pelo Imperador D. Pedro II, no segundo e último reinado da Monarquia no Brasil.

This dissertation work focuses on cultural heritage built by the House of Bragança in Brazil, and the paths that led to end this heritage through an auction at the Imperial Palace in the late nineteenth century. The study is extended for trails and confrontation of the trajectory of the cultural practices of legitimation by society and public policy. It permeates the traditions forged by King and Emperors by expressions of the representation of power in addition to heredity, added to the family ties which influenced the property expansion, revealing in the political context, the vicissitudes in the construction process of the Brazilian nation, as well as the deposition the monarchy regime, culminating in the splitting up public and private goods of the last Emperor and his family. In the specific context of cultural reflection, the investigative process engendered discussion on new contributions of “places of memory” and patrimony made by Emperor D. Pedro II, in the second and final Reigned of the monarchy in Brazil.

A presente dissertação, articulada de acordo com a proposta do Programa de Estudos Pós-Graduados em Literatura e Crítica Literária, tem como objetivo principal desvelar a presença da ópera no romance Dom Casmurro de Machado de Assis, articulando as relações entre as linguagens literária e cênica, desvelando a significação oculta pelo fingir da casmurrice. Para tal investigação fizemos um recorte em torno de algumas marcas como a presença das paixões (pathos), traço presente nas artes cênicas e a hibridização entre linguagem musical e textual na aproximação com o cotidiano vivido por Dom Casmurro. Também analisamos a integração de alguns meios de comunicação típicos da ópera e presentes no romance Dom Casmurro como o gesto, a música, a palavra, a construção de personagens pelo enquadramento fotográfico que, ao mesmo tempo em que congela, movimenta atos e expressões. As questões acima arroladas são discutidas nos três capítulos que compõem a dissertação, reunidas pelos temas: A Dramaticidade da Palavra, onde discorreremos acerca do drama permeando a narrativa de Dom Casmurro. Entre o Debuxo dos Gestos e o Colorido das Palavras, capítulo no qual analisaremos a ambigüidade existente entre os sinais expressivos, fala e gesto, que se contradizem no romance em questão, assim como nas artes cênicas. Finalmente no último capítulo, A Imagem Lembrada e a Musicalidade da Palavra, discutiremos a formação de um discurso narrativo baseado na memória e imaginação de Dom Casmurro, uma vez que está recontando seu viver, assim como na música, que, quando encerrada, só pode reconstituir-se em nossa mente através de uma reelaboração subjetiva. 7 Estas temáticas integram-se, unindo as pontas da dramaticidade na conclusão do trabalho, onde vinculamos as questões discutidas na dissertação. ▼ No SE do domínio oriental do Cinturão Dom Feliciano (CDF) o Granito Capão do Leão (GCL) ocorre como dois corpos, norte e sul, encaixados em rochas Pré-Cambrianas do Complexo Pinheiro Machado (CPM) e nos granitos Chasqueiro (GCH) e Arroio Grande (GAG). Os corpos do GCL, tanto o norte quanto o sul, possuem formas elípticas e ocupam áreas de, respectivamente, 200 km2 e 100 km2, apresentando orientação ENE-WSW, sendo dominantemente uma rocha maciça, a qual preserva suas características magmáticas. Zonas centimétricas a métricas de deformação dúctil, principalmente no corpo sul, são observadas gerando rochas miloníticas subverticais, apresentando plano de foliação com mergulho maior que 70° e direção NE-SW que podem refletir reativações da Zona de Cisalhamento Arroio Grande (ZCAG). Petrograficamente é um granito equigranular, médio a grosso, com textura hipidiomórfica predominante, de composição sieno a monzogranítica, apresentando, por vezes, cavidades miarolíticas centimétricas, as quais sugerem um posicionamento final em condições rasas (epizonal) e indicam a presença de fluidos até os estágios finais da cristalização, além de raros enclaves máficos, de composição micácea, os quais podem representar um material de origem mantélica fonte do granito, uma rocha encaixante fundida e assimilada pelo magma ou a ocorrência de uma mistura de magmas. Apresenta injeções centimétricas de veios ou bolsões tardios de aplitos. A assembleia mineral do GCL é constituída de quartzo, feldspato alcalino e plagioclásio do tipo albita. Como varietais ocorrem biotitas, dos tipos siderofilita e anita, granadas, com predomínio de membros finais em almandina e espessartina, e, subordinadamente, anfibólio cálcico do tipo ferro-pargasita. Seus minerais acessórios são apatita, titanita, zircão e opacos. O GCL é uma rocha de composição ácida, tem afinidade geoquímica subalcalina, metaluminosa a fracamente peraluminosa, com tendência cálcio-alcalina alto-K, apresentando elevados teores de SiO2, entre 71,60 e 75,95 %, teores de Al2O3 entre 11,00 e 15,00 %, teores em álcalis elevados, com valores de Na2O oscilando entre 1,76 à 4,61 % e 3,8 até 7,36 % para o K2O, baixos teores em CaO, MgO e MnO, menores que 1% e teores extremamente baixos de P2O5, menores que 0,03 %. A ocorrência de granada sugere um caráter altamente diferenciado, decorrente de longa cristalização fracionada. Os diagramas multielementares mostram enriquecimento em Rb, Pb, Th, U e K, e depleção nos elementos Ba, Nb, Sr, P, Eu e Ti , assim como enriquecimento de ETR leves em relação aos ETR pesados e acentuada anomalia negativa em Ba, Sr, Ti e Eu. O GCL apresenta características de magmatismo tipo-I, com alto fracionamento, de ambiente pós-colisional, apresentando padrões geoquímicos semelhantes ao GCH, os quais permitem correlacioná-los como líquidos segregados de uma mesma fonte, diferenciados por mecanismos petrológicos, tais como assimilação de material encaixante e cristalização fracionada.
