▼ La presente tesis doctoral tiene por objetivo la elaboración de los parámetros que deberían reunir los manuales de español como lengua extranjera (E/LE) cuando sus destinatarios son alumnos de español de fuera de las fronteras lingüísticas españolas. La tesis se ha elaborado a partir del análisis de un corpus formado por el vaciado de los cinco manuales de E/LE que actualmente se destinan a la enseñanza de español como lengua extranjera en el Instituto Cervantes de Argelia. A partir de la investigación desarrollada, se intenta elaborar una propuesta de cómo se tendrían que adaptar los culturemas hispanos constatados en estos manuales de E/LE a la realidad cultural argelina, fuertemente condicionada por el factor religioso islámico. Para llegar a tal fin se ha analizado el contenido de las fichas del corpus determinando de este modo lo culturalmente explícito y lo culturalmente implícito (tanto a nivel escrito como gráfico) de los manuales existentes,20buscando una interpretación de las mismas clara, objetiva y sistemática. El resultado final constata, por ejemplo, que, en el marco de la utilización de los manuales en un entorno argelino-musulmán a menudo los manuales empleados actualmente en la enseñanza de E/LE presentan una muy mala elección del material gráfico que puede provocar el rechazo directo del alumnado argelino-musulmán en general. En cuanto a la transmisión escrita de los culturemas españoles se echa de menos una explicitación de los mismos en dichos manuales por cuanto que lo que es absolutamente habitual en España no tiene por qué ser normal en absoluto en Argelia, también se constata una falta de adecuación a la sensibilidad argelina condicionada por la cultura material diferente pero también por la cultura religiosa diferente. La tesis sostiene, por tanto, la necesidad de dejar de editar manuales de E/LE “universalistas” para pasar a editar manuales de E/LE específicos, adaptados a las necesidades lingüísticas y a la idiosincrasia cultural del contexto sociogeográfico donde dichos manuales van a utilizarse. O presente estudo buscou analisar os principais impactos sofridos pelos sistemas de controle de gestão das empresas em decorrência de sua internacionalização e consequente aumento da complexidade de suas operações. A pesquisa buscou analisar também algum afastamento ou aproximação da literatura pesquisada, sobre a forma como este processo de internacionalização acontece. Assim sendo, foram feitas comparações entre as características de controle e de internacionalização encontradas na literatura e as situações encontradas nas empresas entrevistadas nesta pesquisa. Para possibilitar tais comparações, foi realizada uma revisão da literatura sobre as teorias acerca do controle de gestão nas empresas, sobre os processos de internacionalização e também sobre as teorias de internacionalização de empresas, descritas pelos principais autores destas áreas. Definido o plano de referência, foi adotado o método de estudo de caso aplicado em três das maiores empresas do estado do Rio Grande do Sul, a Gerdau S/A, a Fras-le S/A e a Forjas Taurus S/A, a fim de explorar mais aprofundadamente os reais procedimentos e controles encontrados nestas empresas, de tamanha relevância para a economia Gaúcha e Brasileira, observando suas características em relação ao plano de referência proposto. Com base nas entrevistas presenciais realizadas, foi possível verificar a real importância dos sistemas de controle de gestão nas companhias internacionalizadas e o grande desafio que as empresas atravessam para conseguir monitorar e planejar, de forma eficiente, as complexas atividades realizadas em diferentes locais do mundo. Os principais achados indicam que os sistemas de controle sofrem vários impactos para adaptação aos diferentes mercados, sendo identificadas relevantes mudanças estruturais, conceituais e de acompanhamento e controle nos casos analisados. Deve-se destacar a grande impotância dos investimentos em tecnologia, pesquisa e desenvolvimento e a atenção constante que as empresas devem dispensar ao capital intelectual para a obtenção de eficiência e qualidade nas operações. Quanto às características do processo de internacionalização, foram encontradas aproximações relevantes entre teoria e prática.

This study investigates the main impacts in control systems of enterprises due to its internationalization and consequent increase in complexity of their operations. The research sought to examine further some clearance or approach in the literature, about how this process of internationalization happens. Therefore, comparisons were made between control and internationalization characteristics found in the literature and the real situations in the companies interviewed in this research. ▼ Une méthode optimale pour identifier les zones problématiques de drainage dans les champs de canneberges est d'un intérêt pratique pour les producteurs. Elle peut aider au développement de stratégies visant à améliorer le rendement des cultures. L'objectif de cette étude était de développer une méthodologie non intrusive de diagnostic d'un système de drainage en utilisant l'imagerie du géoradar ou Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) ayant pour finalité de localiser les zones restrictives au drainage et de lier les scans du GPR à des propriétés du sol. Un système GPR muni d'une antenne monostatique a été utilisé pour acquérir des données dans deux champs de canneberges : un construit sur sol organique et l'autre sur sol minéral. La visualisation en trois dimensions de la stratification du champ a été possible après l'interpolation et l'analyse des faciès. La variabilité spatiale du rendement des cultures et la conductivité hydraulique saturée du sol ont été comparées aux données GPR par deux méthodes : calcul du pourcentage de différence et estimation de l'entropie. La visualisation des données couplée à leur analyse a permis de mettre en évidence la géométrie souterraine et des discontinuités importantes des champs. Les résultats montrent qu'il y a bonne corrélation entre les zones où la couche restrictive est plus superficielle et celle de faible rendement. Le niveau de similarité entre la conductivité hydraulique saturée et la profondeur de la couche restrictive confirme la présence de cette dernière. L'étape suivante a été la reconstruction de l'onde électromagnétique et son ajustement par modélisation inverse. Des informations quantitatives ont été extraites des scans : la permittivité diélectrique, la conductivité électrique et l'épaisseur des strates souterraines. Les permittivités diélectriques modélisées sont concordantes avec celles mesurées in-situ et celles de la littérature. Enfin, en permettant la caractérisation des discontinuités du sous-sol, les zones les plus pertinentes pour l'amélioration du drainage et d'irrigation ont été localisées, afin de maximiser le rendement. Dans le Modèle Standard, la différence de phase apparaissant dans la désintégration B⁰s→J/ψφ est prédite avec une grande précision. Cette observable est une sonde pour mettre en évidence de la Nouvelle Physique car l’oscillation B⁰s-⁻B⁰s s’effectue via un diagramme en boucles sensible aux nouvelles particules. Nous avons développé une sélection simplifiée pour les données de 2010. Elle évite tous biais sur la distribution en temps propre afin de réduire l’incertitude systématique. De plus, nous contrôlons les performances d’étiquetage pour les événements B⁰s→J/ψφ en utilisant les canaux similaires B⁰d→J/ψK∗⁰ et B⁺→J/ψK⁺. Avec les données de 2010, nous obtenons 570 événements de signal avec une luminosité intégré de 36 pb−1, une puissance de d’étiquetage de (2, 2±0, 4)% et une résolution temporelle de 50 fs. Nous avons étudié une sélection alternative, qui maximise la sensibilité à la phase φs en utilisant des coupures biaisant le temps propre. Nous avons proposé une méthode pour corriger la déformation de temps propre à partir des données. Nous avons développé un programme d’ajustement pour déterminer la phase φs. Avec les données 2010, la valeur trouvée est φs ∈ [−2, 7,−0, 5] rad à 68% de confiance. Ce résultat est compatible avec la prédiction du Modèle Standard.

In the B⁰s→J/ψφ channel, the phase φs is predicted to be significantly small in the Standard Model. This observable is an excellent probe for New Physics because the B⁰s-⁻B⁰s mixing takes place via a loop diagram where new particles is expected to intervene. These two reasons makes the φs parameter an excellent probe for New Physics processes. We developed a simplified selection for the 2010 data. It avoids any bias on the proper time distribution in order to reduce systematic uncertainty. In addition, we control the tagging performance for B⁰s→J/ψφ events using the similar B⁰d→J/ψK∗⁰ and B⁺→J/ψK⁺ channels. With the 2010 data, we obtain 570 signal events in 36 pb−1of integrated luminosity, a tagging power of (2.2±0.4)% and a proper time resolution of 50 fs. We investigated an alternative selection which maximizes the φs sensitivity using a proper time biasing cuts. We proposed a data-driven method to correct the proper time acceptance. We designed a fitting program to determine the φs phase. With the 2010 data, It is found to be : φs ∈ [−2.7,−0.5] rad at 68% of confidance. This result is compatible with the Standard Model prediction.

Šio darbo tikslas – įvertinti Dubysos upės vidurupio vandens kokybę, taikant bioindikacinius vandens telkinių vertinimo metodus. Naudojant Saprobiškumo (S) ir Simpsono įvairovės indeksų (D) metodus buvo identifikuoti zooplanktoniniai organizmai bei įvertinti rūšių skaičiaus, gausumo ir įvairovės pasiskirstymo dėsningumai. Pagal J. Brown-Blanquet skalę atliktas atskirų augalų rūšių gausumo (projekcinis padengimo) barelyje vertinamas. Apie 50 km atkarpoje buvo išdėstytos 15 tyrimų vietų, kurias pasirenkant buvo atsižvelgiama į netoliese esančius žemės ūkio, pramonės, transporto objektus bei gamtinę aplinką. Tiriant zooplanktoniną paimti 270 vandens ir vandens – dumblo mėginiai. Šie tyrimai atlikti tris kartus metuose, bandymą pakartojant tris kartus. Naudojant J. Brown-Blanquet skalę augalų projekcinio padengimo vertinimas atliktas liepos mėn. Taigi vandens kokybės vertinimui buvo skaičiuoti tokie rodikliai: zooplanktoninių organizmų rūšių skaičius, gausumas, Simpsono įvairovės (D), Saprobiškumo (S) indeksai bei augalų projekcinis padengimas. Tirtoje teritorijoje buvo aptikta 33 zooplanktono rūšys: 8 infuzorijos, 8 dumbliai, 2 bakterijos, 2 vabzdžių lervos, 3 verpetės, 4 pirmuonys, 2 šakotaūsiai ir 3 irklakojai vėžiagyviai. Taikyta vienfaktorinė dispersinė analizė (One–way ANOVA) parodė, kad tyrimų vietos vandens kokybė (vandens užterštumas arba švarumas) turi įtakos vandens kokybę indikuojantiems rodikliams (rūšių skaičiui, gausumui, D bei S indeksams). The aim – to assess middle of the river Dubysa water quality, using valuation techniques by bioindicationous water mines. Using saprobic index (S) and Simpson's diversity index (D) methods have been identified zooplanktons organisms and the number of species, abundance and diversity of distribution patterns. According to J. Brown-Blanquet scale of an individual plant species richness (covering projection) rating in the barrel. About 50 km stretch was down 15 test sites, the choice was taken to the nearby agricultural, industrial, transport facilities and the environment. Studying zooplankton, it was taken of 270 water mines, and water - sludge ("hanging drop") samples. These studies were conducted three times a year, repeating the test three times. Using J. Brown-Blanquet scale projection covering the plant assessment was carried out in July. Thus, the assessment of water quality indicators have been calculated as follows: organisms zooplankton number of species, abundance, Simpson's diversity index (D), saprobic index (S) and the projection coating plant. There was found 33 species of investigated zooplankton area: 8 infusoria, 8 algae, 2 bacteria, 2 insect larvae, 3 vortex, 4 protozoa, crustaceans 2 and 3 copepods. Este trabalho apresenta uma reflexão sobre o papel do princípio de Le Chatelier desde a sua criação e algumas implicações no ensino de química. Foram levantados aspectos históricos da evolução do princípio com o objetivo de discutir características como, por exemplo: o caráter universal do mesmo, problemas e limitações quanto à sua aplicação e possíveis alternativas ao uso do princípio. Também foram analisados como os livros didáticos de química no nível médio tratam muitos destes aspectos. Além disto, é realizada uma discussão nestes textos didáticos a respeito das variáveis que influenciam no estado de equilíbrio tais como: concentração, pressão, catalisador e temperatura. Um aspecto presente na análise destas variáveis foi o levantamento de ilustrações presentes nos livros baseando-se nos níveis de representação presentes no triângulo de Johnstone. Os principais resultados mostraram que os autores de livros de Química do Ensino Médio apresentam o conceito do princípio de Le Chatelier marcado por um caráter indutivo, vago, ambíguo, e sem apresentar uma fundamentação teórica e suas limitações, enfatizando-o como um princípio infalível ou uma verdade absoluta. Perpetuou-se no ensino de química, ao longo do tempo, a formulação mais simples e popular criada por Le Chatelier, no ano de 1888. Outra conclusão importante refere-se ao fato de a maioria das figuras presentes nos livros didáticos estar relacionada ao nível macroscópico e a concentração é a alteração mais discutida. Poucas são as figuras que interligam os três vértices do triângulo. Resta ao professor o desafio de incluir as ilustrações faltantes, principalmente as microscópicas pois estas têm o objetivo de explicar aos estudantes o que ocorre do ponto de vista molecular quando se altera o estado de equilíbrio químico. Portanto, este tratamento superficial do princípio pode favorecer processos de ensino-aprendizagem baseados na memorização, repetição e na sua utilização sem a compreensão exata dos fenômenos envolvidos.

This work presents a reflection on the role of the Le Chatelier\"s principle concerned by its creation and some implications in the teaching of chemistry. The main purpose was to analyze as high school chemical textbooks approach with this subject. For this, historical aspects of the evolution of the principle were studied with the objective of discussing important characteristics, for example: the universal character of the principle, his problems and limitations regarding their applications to previse changes in chemical equilibrium systems and the possible alternatives to the use of the principle. It was found that the principle formulations were similar to that more simple and popular wrote by Le Chatelier, in the year of 1888. It was also made an analysis of how the textbooks address the issue of variables that influence in the state of equilibrium such as: concentration, pressure, catalyst and temperature. Cette étude présente, dans le sillage des travaux sur la construction des identités des communautés italiennes à l’étranger, les modalités de rassemblement et d’unification de la colonie italienne du Caire de 1861 à la Première Guerre mondiale et ses vecteurs identitaires. Elle remet en question à cette occasion la vision littéraire du cosmopolitisme égyptien au XIXe siècle, de cet âge d’or dont on déplore la disparition, tout en mettant en évidence le mouvement véritablement cosmopolite des revendications sociales et indépendantistes du début du XXe siècle. Une étude des liens de sociabilités formels de la colonie italienne du Caire et de son discours identitaire permet en effet d’observer de manière approfondie le discours tenu par les associations de la colonie autour du cosmopolitisme et d’en observer l’inadéquation à la réalité. Le cosmopolitisme est surtout employé comme justification de la présence italienne en Egypte et comme moyen de se démarquer face aux colonies françaises, grecques et anglaises. Par ailleurs la colonie cairote à partir des années 1880 se compose d’une majorité d’ouvriers et artisans. L’étude des sociabilités informelles (liens d’amitié, de parenté, relations de voisinage et de travail) permet d’observer les rapports de la colonie au sens large avec le milieu cairote, qui sont caractérisés par des relations s’inscrivant dans une indifférence réciproque ponctuée de désordres imprévisibles plutôt que dans le cosmopolitisme tant vanté par les textes littéraires. Pourtant ce cosmopolitisme a une réalité car il est présent au cours des luttes sociales du Caire du début des années 1900 à travers l’union des ouvriers italiens, grecs et égyptiens dans les premiers mouvements de grève cairote. L’insertion des anarchistes italiens dans ce contexte permet de relier ces évènements à un mouvement plus global de luttes sociales à travers l’Europe et même l’Amérique latine, annonciateur de modernité.

In the wake of previous works on the building of identities of Italian communities abroad, this study analyses how the Italian community of Cairo took shape from 1861 until the First World Wide War, as well as its identity factors. In doing so, it questions the litterary claim of a true Egyptian cosmopolitism in the ninetieth century, this much missed golden age, but also highlights the truly cosmopolitan movement of social and independence demands of the early twentieth century. Indeed, the study of formal social ties of Cairo Italian colony and its identity discourse leads to great detail on the official speech of its societies about cosmopolitism and puts it largely into perspective. Chez les eucaryotes, la maturation de l’extrémité 3’ des ARNs messagers a lieu lors de la transcription et regroupe deux étapes : le clivage endonucléolytique du transcrit au niveau d’un site spécifique et l’ajout d’une queue poly(A) sur le fragment en amont du site de clivage. Chez S. cerevisiae, le complexe de polyadénylation est formé par 20 protéines, regroupées principalement en deux sous-complexes : CF IA et CPF. Nous nous intéressons plus spécifiquement à Pcf11, sous-unité du complexe CF IA. Pcf11 est formé de sept sous-domaines, mais la fonction d’une grande partie de la protéine n’est pour l’instant pas connue. Par exemple, aucune fonction n’est associée à la région située entre le domaine d’interaction avec le CTD de l’ARN polymérase II (CID) et une répétion de 20 résidus glutamines. Récemment, la structure de ce domaine, appelé 2nd NTD a été décrite. Pour essayer de comprendre la fonction du 2nd NTD et des motifs liant le zinc encadrant le domaine d’interaction avec Clp1, nous avons mis en place une stratégie systématique de mutagénèse, soit par délétions, soit par mutations ponctuelles. Le 2nd NTD est formé de trois hélices α et interagit avec l’ARN. La délétion de ce domaine conduit à un phénotype de croissance lente chez la levure et un défaut de terminaison de transcription des snoRNAs. Malgré une similarité de structure et de fonction, le 2nd NTD présenterait une fonction indépendante. La fonction des motifs liant le zinc n’est pour l’instant pas connue. Cependant, la mutation de l’un de ces deux motifs conduit à un défaut de clivage et de polyadénylation in vitro. La mutation des deux motifs est létale chez la levure.

In eukaryotes, poly (A) tails are added to nuclear pre-mRNA 3'-ends in the two steps of cleavage and polyadenylation. This co-transcriptional processing requires the activity of a large protein complex comprising at least 20 different polypeptides in yeast organized primarily into the two factors CF IA and CPF. We are interested in the functional characterization of Pcf11, a CF IA subunit. The Pcf11 protein is organized into seven different domains, but here is still a large portion of the polypeptide that has not yet been characterized. For example the region from the end of the CTD interaction domain (CID) to an uninterrupted stretch of 20 glutamine residues has no known function. Recently, the structure of this region, called the 2nd NTD have been characterized. To gain insight into the function of the 2nd NTD and the two zinc fingers motif surrounding the Clp1 interaction domain, we have employed a systematic strategy of mutagenesis, either by deletion or via point mutations. The 2nd NTD is a folded domain composed of three α-helices. The deletion of this domain induced a severe defect of growth in yeast and impaired transcription termination of snoRNAs. Despite its similarity in structure and function with the CID, the 2nd NTD seems to act like an independent RNA binding domain. En France, les matériaux à base de ciment sont utilisés comme matrice de conditionnement des déchets nucléaires de faible et moyenne activité. La radiolyse de l'eau est due aux déchets nucléaires stockés dans les matériaux. La formation de ses produits radiolytiques tels que le gaz H₂ doit être évaluée pour des raisons de sécurité. Les silicates de calcium hydratés (C-S-H) représentent le principal produit (50%) d'hydratation du ciment Portland (CP). L’objectif de cette étude est de comprendre les mécanismes radiolytiques de la production d'hydrogène dans les C-S-H, d'étudier l'effet d'impuretés (telles que des ions alcalins, hydroxydes ou nitrates supplémentaires) sur la production de gaz H₂ dans les C-S-H et d'examiner l'existence d'interactions entre les phases principales (C-S-H et portlandite) du ciment Portland. Après avoir caractérisé les échantillons par diverses techniques, ils ont été soumis à différents types d'irradiation (faisceaux gamma et électrons et ions lourds (HI) pour déterminer leur rendement radiolytique en H₂, G(H₂). Dans les C-S-H, il a été démontré que, sous irradiation gamma, la production d’H₂ est indépendante de la teneur en eau et que les C-S-H produisaient autant d’H₂ que la même masse d’eau. Ainsi, le mécanisme de production d’hydrogène est très efficace dans les C-S-H. La comparaison entre les résultats obtenus sous rayons gamma et ceux obtenus sous HI implique qu’il n'y a pas ou peu d'effet de transfert d’énergie linéique (TEL) dans les C-S-H. Ainsi, les réactions de recombinaison semblent limitées. L’introduction d’ions nitrates dans la structure des C-S-H induit une diminution importante du G(H₂). L’irradiation des hydrates de C2S et C3S constitués majoritairement de C-S-H et de portlandite indique qu’il n’y a pas de phénomènes de transfert d’énergie entre ces phases. Enfin, les expériences de spectroscopie par résonance paramagnétique électronique (RPE) ont permis de proposer des mécanismes radiolytiques dans les C-S-H. L’ensemble de ces résultats nous permettent de mieux comprendre les effets d’irradiation dans les ciments.

In France, cementitious materials are used as conditioning matrix of low level and intermediate level nuclear wastes. Water radiolysis occurs due to the nuclear wastes stored in the materials. The formation of its radiolytic products such as H₂ gas must be evaluated for safety reasons. Calcium silicate hydrate (C-S-H) is the main product (50%) of hydration of Portland Cement (PC). La désintégration B⁰s→J/ψφ peut se faire suivant deux processus principaux: l'arbre et les pingouins sous-dominants. Négligée jusqu'à maintenant, la contribution des diagrammes pingouins doit être contrôlée afin d'isoler les effets du Modèle Standard de l'éventuelle présence de Nouvelle Physique dans la mesure de la phase φs. Nous avons étudié le canal B⁰s→J/ψK∗⁰ dans lequel les diagrammes pingouins ne sont pas négligeables par rapport à l'arbre. Avec 3 fb⁻¹ de données enregistrées par LHCb, nous avons mesuré le rapport démbranchement: B(B⁰s→J/ψK∗⁰)=(4.17±0.18(stat)±0.26(syst)±0.24(fd/fs))×10−5, où fd(s) est la fraction de production du méson B0(B0s). Nous avons effectué une analyse angulaire des produits de désintégrations J/ψ et K*⁰ afin déxtraire les fractions de polarisations et, pour la première fois, l'asymétrie CP en fonction des différents états de polarisations de l'état final. Les asymétries CP directes mesurées sont nulles, comme prédit par le Modèle Standard. Nous avons mesuré: f0 =0.497⁺⁰⋅⁰²⁴₋₀⋅₀₂₅(stat)±0.025(syst) et f‖=0.179⁺⁰⋅⁰²⁷₋₀⋅₀₂₆(stat)±0.013(syst). Nous avons déterminé les premières contraintes sur les diagrammes pingouins dans la phase φs en utilisant le canal B⁰s→J/ψK∗⁰. En combinant avec le canal B⁰→J/ψρ⁰, la déviation sur la phase φs due aux processus pingouins, est inférieure à 19mrad pour les trois polarisations. L'effet des processus pingouins est donc suffisamment petit pour que la mesure de la phase φs (σφs=35mrad) demeure une des mesures phares de LHCb dans les années à venir, pour rechercher de la Nouvelle Physique.

Within the Standard Model, the decay B⁰s→J/ψφ can occur via two main processes: the predominant tree and the sub-leading penguin. Penguin contributions have been so far ignored. Controlling them is crucial in order to disentangle Standard Model effects from possible New Physics in the measurement of φs. We studied the B⁰s→J/ψK∗⁰ channel where penguin diagrams are not negligible compared to tree. Using 3 fb⁻¹ of data collected by LHCb, we measured the branching ratio: B(B⁰s→J/ψK∗⁰)=(4.17±0.18(stat)±0.26(syst)±0.24(fd/fs))×10−5, where fd(s) is the production fraction of the B⁰(B⁰s) meson. We performed an angular analysis of the decay products J/ψ and K∗⁰ to extract the polarisation fractions and the first estimate of the polarization-dependent direct CP asymmetry. Our results show no evidence for direct CP violation in B⁰s→J/ψK∗⁰, as expected in the Standard Model. We measured: f0=0.497⁺⁰⋅⁰²⁴₋₀⋅₀₂₅(stat)±0.025(syst) and f‖=0.179⁺⁰⋅⁰²⁷₋₀⋅₀₂₆(stat)±0.013(syst). We determined the first constraints on penguin diagrams in φs phase using the B⁰s→J/ψK∗⁰ channel. Combining with the B⁰→J/ψρ⁰ decays, the shift on φs, due to penguin processes, is below 19mrad for the three polarizations. The effect of penguin processes is therefore sufficiently small to keep the φs measurement (σφs=35mrad) among the top priorities of LHCb for the upcoming years, to search for New Physics.

Ce mémoire de maîtrise porte sur un projet de création dont le fruit consiste en trois œuvres instrumentales récentes ayant pour source d’inspiration les timbres percussifs. Ces trois œuvres sont : 1. Et pourtant elle tourne ! pour quatuor à cordes ; 2. Obsession pour mezzo-soprano, flûte, clarinette, vibraphone, piano, violon et violoncelle ; 3. Au bord de l’eau pour orchestre. De manière générale, ce mémoire présente mes réflexions sur les manières dont le timbre peut servir d’élément de cohésion du discours musical. Plus spécifiquement, ce mémoire traite de mon souci de produire des timbres percussifs par des instruments de non percussion et des timbres non percussifs par des instruments de percussion, le tout en des discours cohérents et intéressants. Quant à la structure même du mémoire, suite à une introduction où sont exposés les origines du projet de création et son cadre théorique, le premier chapitre présente un survol historique de l’évolution du paramètre du timbre et de la place des percussions dans les musiques occidentales. Ce premier chapitre dévoile également un système permettant d’évaluer la qualité percussive d’une sonorité. Le deuxième chapitre présente, à l’aide de nombreux exemples tirés des œuvres à l’étude, les diverses incarnations du timbre percussif aux instruments de non percussion, ou son évitement aux instruments de percussion. La conclusion traite de l’incidence du projet de recherche sur mon langage musical.

This master’s thesis examines three of my recent instrumental compositions that use percussive timbres as inspiration. These three pieces are: 1. Et pourtant elle tourne ! for string quartet; 2. Obsession for mezzo-soprano, flute, clarinet, vibraphone, piano, violin and violoncello; 3. Au bord de l’eau for orchestra. This thesis presents my reflections on the parameter of timbre as a mean of strengthening the cohesion of the musical discourse. More specifically, this thesis explores how to generate percussive timbres by non-percussion instruments, as well as non-percussive timbres by percussion instruments, in the context of a coherent and interesting musical discourse. Following an introduction where the origins, objectives and theoretical framework of this creative project are presented, the first chapter lays out my preparatory research, outlining the history of the evolution of timbre and the role of percussion instruments in Western music, as well as building a system to identify and qualify sounds for their percussive qualities. In the second chapter, the pieces are examined and examples are provided. These examinations illustrate how percussive and non-percussive timbres were used. The conclusion discusses the impacts of this creative project on my musical language and future works.
