The purpose of this study is to define the communication codes in theatre audience forunderage viewers, as well as examine their operations and their relations. The methodologyused involved, initially, consultation of the references on the definition of communicationcodes in theatre for children, and then, in situ observation of the candidate in charge fortheatrical plays for an audience of underage viewers, in order to determine: (a) the operationof codes of communication, as defined by the consultation of the cited references (b) theexploration of their relations based on two distinct disciplines: that of producing the show foran audience of underage viewers and that of the engagement of the audience.In particular, the consideration of directing as a code of communication held through threefundamental orientations of directorial approach to theatre for audience underage viewers:detachment, physicality and inclusivity. Regarding the examination of codes governing theart of acting, beyond the linguistic elements, the kinesiological codes, meaning theparalinguistic signs that create a parallel full and playful form of communication, wereparticularly examined.The approach of the visual context of each specific type of scene spectacle was conductedby means of the perspective of spatial-plan architecture of the stage space; in accordance tokinesiology data, lighting and use of colour, aesthetics, pedagogical and psychologicaldimension of the stage creation.Finally, the whole range of communication codes that manifest themselves through soundin any theatrical performance was examined. From this perspective, the sound was seen as acomplex, supple and full communication language, which comments in a special way thehappenings on stage. On the approach of this issue, both in theoretical and empirical level, itwas found that the disparate elements that make up a play for public underage viewers lead toa radial growth of different data that are in fact coordinated at the time of the stage show. Theapproach of the visual context of each specific type of scene spectacle was conducted bymeans of the perspective of spatial-plan architecture of the stage space; in accordance tokinesiology data, lighting and use of colour, aesthetics, pedagogical and psychologicaldimension of the stage creation. From this perspective, the recording and examination of the above codes ofcommunication can contribute to a better understanding of the meaning productionmechanisms in the preparation and presentation of each stage event. However, the modellingof these codes in the future could contribute to a better quality preparation of theatricalperformances for a particular type of audience, such underage public, and the maximizationof the easier and more complete understanding probabilities, coming from that audience.
