近年のデジタル家電の普及に伴い、コンテンツをデジタル撮影したり、デジタル録画して楽しむユーザが増えている。だがその中でスポーツというコンテンツは動きが激しいため、シャッターチャンスを撮影することが難しい。また録画したスポーツの映像は一見どれも同じようなので、見たいシーンを捜すのが厄介である。本研究ではこの難点を解決する手法を提案する。扱うスポーツを野球に絞り、野球映像からシャッターチャンスとしてピッチャーの投球の瞬間、バッターの打撃の瞬間を抽出した。また、野球映像中の重要シーンとしてピッチャーが投球を行うシーンを抽出し、スコア情報として球速,球種,打球の方向,シーンの状況を表す画像を付加した。なお本研究のシステムの開発は岩崎遼、山下毅と共同で行ったため、本論文は私が担当した部分を中心に構成する。
