▼ Traditionally, in all manufacturing industries, the
functions of marketing, distribution, planning, manufacturing, and
purchasing operate independently. These functions have their own
objectives. Many manufacturing operations are designed to maximize
throughput and to minimise costs with a little consideration for
the impact on inventory levels and distribution capabilities.
Presently, the purchasing contracts are often negotiated with
minimum information beyond the historical purchasing patterns of
the customer. This research, first takes up the application of
Analytic Network Process (ANP) model in the supplier selection
process (Saaty 1980). It is generally agreed that taking an
unbiased decision is the prime objective which is very hard to
reach. In the model, proposed in this research, twelve potential
evaluation criteria viz. Quality, Quantity, Delivery time, Demand,
Cost, Discount, Sales after service, Communication system,
Technical Capability, Production facilities, Geographical location
and Professionalism of Sales person are considered to select
important criteria. In this model, AHP was applied for four
products namely Back plate, Wheel Cylinder, Lining Shoe and Auto
Adjuster for back wheel assembly by five automotive ancillary
suppliers (Supplier A, Supplier B, Supplier C, Supplier D and
Supplier E) to a leading industry which manufactures brake systems
for automobiles at India. The best supplier was identified from the
overall priority vectors obtained using AHP. The application of the
Fuzzy Inference System (FIS) is used to check the suitability of
the selected supplier which is obtained as the result of AHP. Also
results were obtained using MAT LAB. Quality, Quantity, Delivery
time, Demand, and Cost were the five criteria which were
considered. The result of fuzzy logic shows that the selected
supplier as the result of AHP is acceptable. Finally sensitivity
analysis was made and based on the priority vectors it was found
that the AHP model for selecting the best supplier was stable.

▼ This paper deals with the problem of finding an optimum site for a railway station,
simultaneously it is intended to investigate, analyze and evaluate the Ethiopian railway
station site selection using the method of
Analytic Network Process (ANP). The paper
identifies five major criteria: (1) Environmental, (2) Engineering, (3) Institutional, (4)
Social, and (5) Economical factors. In addition, there are 23 sub criteria. Data are
collected from Ethiopian Railways Corporation (ERC), questionnaire and survey,
prepared in four types: (i) pairwise comparisons between major criteria with respect to
the goal, (ii) pairwise comparisons between sub criteria with respect to common cluster,
(iii) pairwise comparison between sub criteria with respect to the goal (i.e. the outer
dependences between sub criteria of different clusters), and (iv) pairwise comparison
between alternatives with respect to sub criteria. The results from the questionnaire are
feed into ANP in order to evaluate and identify the most suitable site. Then, the study
evaluates the ERC decision in three selected railway station sites, Dire Dawa, Bike, and
Dewenle and have got the same in Dire Dawa and Dewenle, but different in Bike.
Finally, the output of this particular paper is applicable not only on railway station site
selection but also on rail/road route, pipeline, waste disposal selection etc.

▼ In the book of âThe Practice of Managementâ, Peter Drucker(1989) mentioned, that the quality and performance of managers determine the fate of the company. Indeed, the faster the world changes, the more significant the role managers play is.) Especially, the middle/ high level managers, who highly involve and participate in the organization, play the pivotal roles.
The case company has been growing up during recent years, and the demand for the middle/high level managers is very great. So, whether the managers have the appropriate management ability will be the focus of training programs. As a result, the study constructed the management competency model for the case company via
Analytic Network Process (ANP). Besides, this model provided the clear criterions that could help the case company to select and train the middle/high level managers. The findings are listed as bellowsï¼
1. Confirming key management competence items for the middle/high level managers, and built up an analysis framework. Therefore, the case company would figure out important key items to improve the efficiency of selection and work performance.
2. Deciding the criterion and authority for each management competency index with
Analytic Network Process. The result considered depending relationship between indices correspond with practice, clearly numerical data also help to reduce uncertain in decision

▼ In Scotland, agriculture remains the dominant form of land use in rural areas, indicating that the successful implementation of renewable energy strategies has the potential to provide opportunities for dedicated biomass crop production in the rural communities of Scotland. The methodology was developed for a study area surrounding Nethercleuch, Lockerbie in Dumfriesshire, Scotland. This is the largest biomass conversion plant in the UK and it is set to open near Lockerbie later in the year, this study investigates the potential for sourcing dedicated energy crops locally.
This research presents a GIS-based methodology to locate the suitable areas for growing Short Rotation Coppice willow crops in Scotland by using cell-based multi-criteria evaluation. The
Analytic Hierarchy
Process (AHP), Multi-criteria Evaluation method, has been successfully implemented in recent years in decision making processes, as well as in GIS. AHP was used as a decision support method for determining the weights of importance in selecting a suitable areas for Short Rotation Coppice production.
In this study,
Network Analysis was used to define service areas from Lockerbie. The economic potential of Willow Short Rotation Coppice is known to be heavily determined by the existing road networks, as the condition affects the cost of logistics and hence the viability of investments. When accessible areas were defined, suitability factors were identified based on communications with experts, scientific journals and the
network distance from the plant. The factor layers are then overlaid and compiled by the subjective weights in order to create an overall cost surface to determine the suitable areas for Willow Short Rotation Coppice production.

▼ Labor conflict mediators play a very important role during the
process of labor dispute resolution; their competence will help enhance the quality of labor dispute mediation and improve the relationship between labor and management. The main purpose of this research is to probe into the criteria that labor conflict mediators should possess. Based on the Competence Theory, this research collects opinions from experts and scholars and utilizes Fuzzy Delphi Method and
Analytic Network Process respectively to construct a competence-based model to select labor conflict mediators.
Results are achieved as follows:
1. To firmly establish critical competence items and definition of labor conflict mediators, including practical experience, problem resolution, professional expertise, fairness and objectivity, integrity, thinking and judgment, and investigation ability, in order to set up the hierarchical structure of competency indices.
2. In consideration of the dependency relation among principles of competency, this research utilizes
Analytic Network Process to systematize decomposition and quantify judgment, in order to firmly establish the weight of competency indices, as well as to construct a competence-based model with an evaluation standard of weight to select labor conflict mediators.
3. Through the empirical study, the competence-based model to select labor conflict mediators which is constructed in this research can effectively discriminate outstanding labor conflict mediators.
4. The competence-based model developed in this research to choose labor conflict mediators utilizes the following procedures: (1) collate the competence indices; (2) To utilize Fuzzy Delphi Method to identify critical items of competence; (3) To utilize
Analytic Network Process to firmly establish the weight of competence items; (4) To develop the competence-based model; (5) To examine the effectiveness of competence-based model.

▼ Telecommunications infrastructure is recognised as the fundamental factor for economic and social development for it is the platform of communication and transaction within and beyond geographical boundaries. It is a necessity for social benefits, growth, connection and competition, more in the rural communities in developing countries. Its acquisition entails great investment, considering the emergence of various technologies and thereby making the selection a critical task. The research described in this thesis is concerned with a comprehensive examination and analytical procedures on the selection of technologies, for rural telecommunications infrastructure. A structured systematic approach is deemed necessary to reduce the time and effort in the decision-making process. A literature review was carried out to explore the knowledge in the areas of Multi-Criteria Decision-Making (MCDM) approaches, with particular focus on the analytical decision processes. The findings indicate that, the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP)/AnalyticNetwork Process (ANP) are powerful decision methods capable of modelling such acomplex problem. Primarily, an AHP model is formulated, however, since the problem at hand involves many interactions and dependencies, a more holistic method is required to overcome its shortcomings by allowing for dependencies and feedback within the structure. Hence, the ANP is adopted and its network is established to represent the problem, making way to telecommunications experts to provide their judgements on the elements within the structure. The data collected are used to estimate the relative influence from which the overall synthesise is derived, forming a general ANP model for such a rural telecommunications selection problem. To provide a more wide-ranging investigation regarding selecting a potential rural telecommunications infrastructure, another systematic analysis that utilises a BOCR-based (Benefits, Opportunities, Costs and Risks) ANP was conducted. The obtained results indicate that Microwave technology is the most preferred alternative within the context of the developing countries. Sensitivity analysis was performed to show robustness of the obtained results. This framework provides the structure and the flexibility required for such decisions. It enables decision makers to examine the strengths and weaknesses of the problem, by comparing several technology options, with respect to appropriate gauge for judgement. Moreover, using the ANP, the criteria for such a technology selection task were clearly identified and the problem was structured systematically. A case study was carried out in Libya involving its main telecommunications infrastructure provider to demonstrate how such rural technology selection decisions can be made within a specific developing country's rural area.

This dissertation, developed within the hydraulics branch of civil engineering, aims at contributing to the assessment of the risk associated to the wave overtopping of port structures.
Due to the occurrence of overtopping, there is a requirement to ensure the safety of goods, people, equipment, structures and activities developed in their surroundings and, still, avoid economic spending.
Therefore, the study uses forecast wave conditions in deep water, provided by the WAMmodel, which coupled to SWAN and DREAMS models, allows to characterize the sea state near the port structure. Subsequently, the NN_OVERTOPPING2 artificial neuronal tool is applied, which provides the mean flow overtopping discharge over the structures.
Finally, three different methodologies to assess the consequences of wave overtopping are used: a simple methodology, the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) and the Analytic Network Process (ANP).
The multi-criteria AHP and ANP methodologies are more advantageous in comparison with the simplistic methodology, since they allow spatial analysis and definition of the risk that each area is subject to. These improvements support a more reliable risk assessment, which is essential in the decision-making process and in a effective management of coastal and port areas.
The procedure in this study is applied in the port of Praia da Vitória (Azores, Portugal).

▼ This dissertation focuses on the use of three new combinational hybrid approaches to solve a rational decision problem. Even though Multi-Attribute Utility Theory (MAUT) and the
Analytic Hierarchy
Process (AHP), and the
Analytic Network Process (ANP), are all long established theories, their practical applications continue to grow and generate new knowledge. As a case study approach, there exists a knowledge gap concerning the use of these MCDM methods in the area of environmental remediation, and more especially, in situations that involve radioactive materials. From this, and as borne out by the literature review discussed herein, a problem statement is thus affirmed: This dissertation analyzes how the MAUT, AHP, and ANP can be used, both individually and as combinational hybrid approaches, in terms of a case study involving the selection of a geographically appropriate location indicative of the relative natural background value for radon [in air] at a known environmental remediation site for which many volumes of information are publicly available. More broadly, this dissertation seeks to interpret how the practical application of MAUT, AHP, and ANP, both individually and as combinational hybrid approaches, can assist decision-makers in making related decisions at environmental sites, especially those that involve radioactive materials. Comparison of MAUT, AHP, ANP, and testing of the three combinational hybrid approaches is accomplished by analyzing the same decision problem via each method. From this, similarities and differences between the outcomes of each model (i.e., the results) are analyzed, along with further comparisons drawn between the MAUT weighting factors and AHP / ANP priority vectors for each rendition. Still yet, very granular comparisons are made between the basic MAUT marginal utility values and the AHP / ANP alternative-level priority vectors. One case study is likely insufficient to prove the utility of the three combinational hybrid approaches that are herein advocated. More case studies are encouraged to assess the true utility of these approaches. While hybrid MCDM approaches are nothing new, this research is original and unique and serves to add to the compendium of knowledge done by others, strengthening and bolstering the use of such approaches in engineering management and beyond.

▼ Dissertation to obtain PhD in Industrial Engineering
In order to increase partnership efficiency and truly meet the customers' demands, in today's business environment companies are operating in supply chains. Integration of supply chains facilitates minimizing diferent types of wastes and satisfying needs of the end customer. The first step toward supply chain integration is to understandand the customer values, and to reconfigure supply chain to support those values. The current research addresses supply chain integration through quantifying
relations between supply chain practice and customer values. It employs Bayesian network and analytic network process as tools to quantify comparative relations among entities. The proposed approach starts with identifying trade-offs along customer values using Bayesian network. In parallel supply chain practices are comparatively analyzed through interviews with experts which is
technically quantified using analytic network process. Thereafter, these two parallel phases join together to form a network of customer values and supply chain practices. The network is able to
quantitatively identify relations among nodes; in addition, it can be used to plan scenarios and handle senstitivity analyses. This model is expected to be used by supply chain decision makers to have a quantitative measure for monitoring the influence of practices on preferences of the end customer. A survey and two case studies are discussed which go through aforementioned phases. The survey identifies and analyzes six customer values namely quality, cost, customization, time, know-how and respect for the environment. It makes input for the two cases which develop supply chain integration model for fashion and food industry. Supply chain practices are categorized into two groups of manufacturing and logistics practices. The two case studies include five manufacturing practices as cross functional operations, decrease work in process, implement standards, mixed production planning, and use recyclable materials as well as four logistics practices namely visibility to upstream /downstream inventories, information sharing with customer, implement logistics standards, and just in time.

▼ Organizations often begin knowledge management (KM)
efforts by building knowledge repositories to store organizational
knowledge to ensure that it may be later retrieved to reuse, share
with, and transfer to knowledge workers. The use of such
storage/retrieval systems (S/RS) are particularly relevant in
preserving and restoring internal organizational knowledge; such
implementations support reduced costs associated with knowledge
reacquisition, recreation, and reinvention, thus increasing the
efficiency of knowledge transfer. Additionally, there is an
increased interest in newer uses of S/RS to support large-scale
knowledge-bases and knowledge sharing communities. Therefore, it is
important for organizations to understand the factors that
influence success in S/RS, as generally, KM systems (KMS)
initiatives have failed to realize promised results. This study
focuses on knowledge flow from the knowledge repository to the
knowledge consumer to facilitate and enable knowledge transfer
(FEKT). Because of the strong relationship between S/RS processes
and technologies and IS/IT, DeLone and McLean’s (2003) IS success
model serves as the foundation for the S/RS success model, which is
modified here to include the complexities inherent in an S/RS. This
empirical study presents a model of S/RS success in FEKT and
identifies, prioritizes, and weights both the constructs that
define S/RS success and the critical success factors (CSF) that
influence these success constructs. In addition to informing KM
practitioners, this research also addresses a research gap in the
KM literature in respect to storage/retrieval systems in
facilitating knowledge transfer. Moreover, while prior KMS research
has generally assumed an independence in factors and constructs
when empirically testing KMS success, this study embraces the
notion that real-world factors and constructs are interrelated,
intertwined, and interdependent; thus, the
analytic network process
(ANP) is used as an
analytic methodology to address this complexity
and further, the ANP is employed in this study in a rather unique
manner to determine the ranking of the success constructs. Finally,
the ANP row-based influence, marginal, and perspective sensitivity
analyses are performed on the synthesized model to more deeply
investigate the robustness of the model and help illuminate
interesting relationships for practitioners and future researchers
alike.

Engenharia e Gestão Industrial
In order to cope up with a volatile and scarce environment, companies have had to adopt new ways of thinking. One of them is embracing Supply Chain Management (SCM) and considering it as a crucial asset if willing to compete in the marketplace. In the context of SCM, it is important to understand how Lean and Agile SCM paradigms are adopted as means of achieving an efficient Supply Chain (SC). Besides the mentioned paradigms, many Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and management practices come along with SCM, and it is important that SC managers identify the ones that bring the most competitive advantages. This dissertation intends to design a model based on the Analytic Network Process (ANP) in order to assist SC managers from different entities of a pharmaceutical SC in exploring efficient decisions to be made, with respect to KPIs and management practices, as means of achieving a highly competitive SC.

▼ Right now, the businesses are facing the hugest challenge of operating which is seeking new chances for surviving and developing in the quick change business operating environment. The businesses are also facing the challenges from the environment and the risks from market threat due to the globalization. Risks mean any factor may cause businesses potential losses or decreasing the profits that businesses could not reach the established goals. However, risks include two kinds of characteristics potential losses and expecting rewards at the same time. The businesses can survive because of avoiding risks but it seldom with high profits. As seeing and taking the risks which can create the values.
The paper-making industry belongs to traditional industry and it is facing excess capacity all around the world. After Taiwan join to WTO, the domestic market becomes totally opening free market. The risks are emerging during paper-making industry transitional processes facing the import papersâthreat.
The structures of this study has five major risks ,including business environmental risk, financial risk, management risk, supply chain risk and strategic risk , and eighteen second risks base on Saaty (1996) ANP concept to find out which have the most influence on paper-making industry in Taiwan. There are 10 expert questionnaires and 100% received in this study. Through questionnaire, the weight of impact factor is found and also the priority of the impact factor is listed by analytical method âANP (
Analytic Network Process)â and Super Decisions system.
The findings of this study show that strategic risk and business environmental risk are the most important factors in major risks, and product development risk, overcapacity risk, operation risk, energy /material import dependence risk and marketing strategy risk are top 5 important factors in second risks. In the study result that can be used in criteria evaluation of ANP study in the future and help companies in paper-making industry can see the risks finally.

▼ Network screening and countermeasure selection are two crucial steps in the highway improvement
process. In
network screening, potential improvement locations are ranked and prioritized based on a specific method with a set of criteria. The most common practice by transportation agencies has been to use a simple scoring method, which, in general, weighs and scores each criterion and then ranks the locations based on their relative overall scoring. The method does not deal well with criteria that are qualitative in nature, nor does it account for the impacts of correlation among the criteria. The introduction of
Analytic Hierarchy
Process (AHP) provides agencies with a method to include both quantitative and qualitative criteria. However, it does not address the issue on correlation. This dissertation explores the use of both
Analytic Network Process (ANP) and Fuzzy
Analytic Network Process (FANP) for their potential capabilities to address both issues. Using urban four-lane divided highways in Florida for bicycle safety improvements, both ANP and FANP were shown to provide more reasonable rankings than AHP, with FANP providing the best results among the methods.
After the locations are ranked and prioritized for improvements, the next step is to evaluate the potential countermeasures for improvements at the selected top-ranked locations. In this step, the standard practice has been to use Crash Modification Factors (CMFs) to quantify the potential impacts from implementing specific countermeasures. In this research, CMFs for bicycle crashes on urban facilities in Florida were developed using the Generalized Linear Model approach with a Zero-Inflated Negative Binomial (ZINB) distribution. The CMFs were tested for their spatial and temporal transferability and the results show only limited transferability both spatially and temporally. The CMFs show that, in general, wider lanes, lower speed limits, and presence of vegetation in the median reduce bicycle crashes, while presence of sidewalk and sidewalk barrier increase bicycle crashes. The research further considered bicycle exposure using the bicycle activity data from the
Strava smartphone application. It was found that increased bicycle activity reduces bicycle crash probabilities on segments but increases bicycle crash probabilities at signalized intersections. Also, presence of bus stops and use of permissive signal phasing at intersections were found to increase bicycle crash probabilities.

▼ [EN] In an inland terminal of containers with dangerous goods, operational, safety & security and environmental criteria are usually in conflict in the decision making
process of the layout's design. But this conflict can be only a result of a partial analysis where not all involved criteria are being considered.
If we really consider all criteria that should affect a decision perhaps the conflict between operational, safety & security and environmental aspects disappears.
Decisions about machines and the layout in an inland terminal with dangerous goods must consider aspects as hazards of products, reliability, evacuation time, etc., jointly with other economical and operational criteria.
Through this research, we are going to develop a holistic analysis based on the multicriteria theory (AHP -
Analytic hierarchic
process / ANP -
Analytic network process) to provide terminals' decision makers with a methodology in order to design the layout of an inland terminal in a more productivity, safety, environment-friendly and efficient way.
This methodology is addressed to decision makers of existent inland terminals for the management of change or to design new parts of the business, and also to freight forwarding companies' decision makers that see inland terminals of containers as a strategic business.
Outputs of this methodology are optimal solutions not only from the point of view of productivity and operational efficiency, but also environment-friend and safety terminals. We think that this principle can be fulfilled with actual technology and this is the core of this research. Other way, a sensitive analysis using the methodology will be followed up to analyze what is the influence of the environmental and safety criteria in the decision

▼ Raziskava zajema teoretično in praktično predstavitev metod AHP – analitičnega hierarhičnega procesa in ANP – analitičnega mrežnega procesa.
The survey encompasses theoretical and practical presentation of the methods AHP – Analytic Hierarchy Process – and ANP – Analytic Network Process. On a basis of evolved decision-making tool for analysis of tourist activity at a farm and collected data we want to assess the most adequate provider, i.e. a tourist farm, which will maximally fulfil beforehand defined criteria. Results of the survey will accurately show advantages as well as disadvantages of examined tourist farms. The survey will be of the greatest help to potential users of the AHP and ANP methods in development of decision-making models, but on the other hand will also offer immediate support to consumers, who would make decisions for holiday spending at a tourist farm. After examination of above mentioned groups of subjects we got final results, which were equal in the AHP as well as ANP models. In all evolved models the best provider of tourist activity was rated the Tourist farm IV, which achieved the highest scores due to its wide selection.

▼ The ability of crewmembers to perform various critical functions during spacecraft operations is widely recognized as being essential to mission success. This necessity motivates the desire to better characterize factors that can influence crewmember performance so that those with positive effects can be enhanced, while those with negative impacts can be minimized. Established Human Reliability Analysis methods exist for analyzing performance within the context of myriad terrestrial scenarios. Many of the existing methods have their roots in nuclear power plant operations. While perhaps similar, the factors influencing performance traditionally used in these methods do not take into account the unique conditions encountered during spaceflight. Therefore, this research has identified a tailored set of factors that influence human task performance during space missions. This thesis describes an organizational scheme developed to aid in classifying and communicating the factors across disciplines and organizations. Definitions of identified factors are given for the spaceflight-specific context. A visual display of the factors, called the Contributing Factor Map, is presented and its use as a risk communication tool is discussed.
The Bayesian
Network is discussed as a quantification approach allowing relationships between factors, in addition to the factor relationships to performance outcomes, to be modeled. A method for determining a
network structure was developed for domains such as human spaceflight, in which a global set of data for analysis is not available. This method applied the
Analytic Hierarchy
Process, and causal latency concepts from the Human Factors Analysis and Classification System in a novel way to guide choices for modeling the dominant set of factors and relationships in a simplified Bayesian
Network structure. In addition, an approach for modeling the factors as statistical variables in a Bayesian
Network making use of existing design requirements and human performance data is discussed. Applications of this modeling approach in terms of requirement completeness assessment and identification of future research needs are also described. Finally, an illustrative quantified Bayesian
Network for the spaceflight domain is given, built on the factor identification and structure development work throughout the thesis. Its use in a Human Reliability Analysis is demonstrated.

transport robe / Road and Urban Transport-Road and Urban Transport
of Goods
Drumski transport robe se susreće sa mnogim
izazovima koji predstavljaju pretnju produktivnosti, efikasnosti i
kvalitetu usluge koja se pruža. Kako je drumski transport značajan
za privredu ovi izazovi zahtevaju pažnju javnog sektora i
preduzimanje mera saobraćajne politike kojima će se njihovi efekti
otkloniti ili ublažiti. Predmet ove disertacije su elementi
saobraćajne politike i način donošenja odluka o njihovoj primeni u
međunarodnom drumskom transportu robe. Cilj je da se definiše
metodologija za podršku odlučivanju u sferi vođenja politike u
oblasti transporta, i to u delu razvoja elemenata saobraćajne
posvećena prikazu, raspravi i sistematizaciji osnovnih pojmova kako
procesa strateškog planiranja transporta i elemenata rezultujućeg
dokumenta nacionalne saobraćajne politike, tako i procesa stvaranja
i primene politike. Komparativnom metodom detaljno su analizirani
strateški dokumenti saobraćajne politike evropskih država i
identifikovani su i sistematizovani, metodom empirijske
klasifikacije, instrumenti politike koji utiču na međunarodni
drumski transport robe.
kompilacije i modeliranjem. Prezentirani su način na koji se
analizira stanje, analiziraju zainteresovane strane i identifikuju,
selektuju i rangiraju problemi podsistema međunarodnog drumskog
transporta robe. Potom se pažnja posvećuje definisanju ciljeva i
kriterijumima za izbor instrumenata za njihovo dostizanje. U

To win the competition and market share, TFT-LCD manufacturers aggressively invest larger and advance product line, and create big gap between human resource demand and supply. However, TFT-LCD industry just developed a few years ago in Taiwan, experience engineers are not enough to satisfy these fast expand request. To choice suitable employee from volunteers, using Competence Choosing Model is considered and efficiently in particle and in academic analysis.
Most researchs discuss Competency model with scales without weight. The study constructed a competence-based model for choosing engineers professional with
Analytic Network Process (ANP), and this model include weight for each item. Besides, this model could help C company to select engineering professional efficiency, reduce corporation cost. The findings are as follows:
1.Confirm key competence items for engineering professional, and built up a analysis struce. Therefore, C company may would figure out important key items.
2.Deciding weight for each competency index with
Analytic Network Process. The result considered depending relationship between indices correspond with practice, clearly numerical data also help to reduce uncertin in decision
process.
3.Inspect with really engineering professional performance records and weight computed results, this model could identify high performance engineering professional correctly.
4.Comparing the results come from

▼ Adopting new technologies enable enterprises to improve employeesâ performance and competitive advantages. The differences in natures of adopting processes of organizations and individuals need further clarify for better understandings regarding to their framework in adopting new technologies. This paper based on the Theory of Reasoned Action (TRA) and existed research to construct the relations amongst the effective factors which affect the adopting new technologies in either individual or organization perspectives.
In the individual level, the constructed research framework indicated employeesâ e-Learning satisfaction could be measured by three major dimensions, the perceived e-Learning qualities, individual internal beliefs (usefulness and ease of use), and social influence. Eight proposed hypothesis were confirmed by Structured Equation Modeling analysis of 428 valid samples. Path analyses verified the original path in TRA, TAM, and D&M ISS Model. The perceived e-Learning qualities and social influence cause significantly influence to employeesâ e-Learning satisfaction in both directly and indirectly, which by way of individual internal beliefs, positive paths. The results also showed that perceived information quality, usefulness, system quality, social influence, ease of use, and than service quality positively affect employeesâ satisfaction of e-Learning in descend sequences.
Where, in the organization level, decision framework of adopting new technology of oil refinery was composed by modified Delphi method and was verified by
Analytic Network Process from the survey of 15 experts. The consistency opinions confirmed four inter-depended dimensions and seventeen criteria were included. The results suggested that
process fitness, environmental fitness, actorsâ organizational fitness, and new technology characteristics are important dimensions of adopting new technology in descend sequences. On the other hand, economic feasibility, relative advantages, government, environment acceptance, and engineering feasibility are the top five important factors to be evaluated during the adopting
process.
The different natures of adopting processes of organizations and individuals cause their different framework in adopting new technologies. This paper concluded that new technology, actorsâ, environmental characteristics are three interdepended dimensions which influence the adopting behavior no matter in individual or organization context. In organization level of oil refinery case, actorsâ characteristics consist not only of actorsâ organizational fitness but also
process fitness, which is the most important dimension while adopting new technology. In final, the implications of findings were discussed and directions were also suggested for future research.

▼ This dissertation looks at the urban volume, in its natural and artificial materiality, as a source of potential for future urbanization. Underground resourcesâfor buildable space, geomaterials, groundwater and geothermal energyâtend to be addressed only as needs arise. This has historically led to conflicts between uses: basements and tunnels flooded by rising aquifers; drinking water sources endangered by infrastructures that carry pollutants into groundwater systems. The work was carried out as part of the Deep City Project, which argues for a paradigm shift of âresources to needsâ in which the potential of underground resources is addressed prior to any urban project or plan. The work presented here further develops a methodology to map the combined potentials of resources and includes an original investigation of the spatial relationships between underground and surface urban commercial spaces. The prologue introduces the overarching problematic and concepts using a dramatization of an incident that occurred during the construction of the M2 metro line in Lausanne in 2005. This concrete example sets the stage for the first chapter, where the theoretical framework of the dissertation is laid out in detail. The resources to needs paradigm is elaborated by looking at the underground as it has been addressed in normative city models, arguing that the dominant ecological and mechanical models do not provide the adequate framework for thinking resources prior to needs. This reflection draws on concepts from information and urban theory as well as philosophy, arguing for an approach to the mass of the urban volume as an economy of communicationâof encounter and avoidance. The second chapter specifically addresses underground space through a spatial configurational analysis of the Montreal downtown, where a
network of indoor and outdoor commercial spaces comprises a unique spatial volume. Relationships between the spaces are calculated using multiple accessibility metrics on a 3D spatial
network model built in GIS. Common configurational characteristics are extracted using principal component analysis and placed in a spatial econometric model, which looks at the influence of spatial configuration on rental value per square meter of food and retail spaces. The results suggest that certain accessibility metrics contribute more than others to this value, but a subsequent geographically weighted regression reveals that this impact is varied in space and does not establish a clear separation between indoor and outdoor spaces. The third chapter presents the application of the Deep City mapping method to three case study citiesâSan Antonio, Texas, Hong Kong, China, and Dakar, Senegalâwhich have relatively diverse and complex relationships to their geology and surface urbanization. In each case, adjustments are made to the methodology, particularly in how the potential of the surface urban form contributes to the underground potential of the city. The results of the maps, which provide a city-wide…

▼ Environmentally conscious construction has received a significant amount of research attention during the last decades. Even though construction literature is rich in studies that emphasize the importance of environmental impact during the construction phase, most of the previous studies failed to combine environmental analysis with other project performance criteria in construction. This is mainly because most of the studies have overlooked the multi-objective nature of construction projects. In order to achieve environmentally conscious construction, multi-objectives and their relationships need to be successfully analyzed in the complex construction environment. The complex construction system is composed of changing project conditions that have an impact on the relationship between time, cost and environmental impact (TCEI) of construction operations. Yet, this impact is still unknown by construction professionals. Studying this impact is vital to fulfill multiple project objectives and achieve environmentally conscious construction. This research proposes an analytical framework to analyze the impact of changing project conditions on the relationship of TCEI. This study includes green house gas (GHG) emissions as an environmental impact category. The methodology utilizes multi-agent systems, multi-objective optimization, analytical
network process, and system dynamics tools to study the relationships of TCEI and support decision-making under the influence of project conditions. Life cycle assessment (LCA) is applied to the evaluation of environmental impact in terms of GHG. The mixed method approach allowed for the collection and analysis of qualitative and quantitative data. Structured interviews of professionals in the highway construction field were conducted to gain their perspectives in decision-making under the influence of certain project conditions, while the quantitative data were collected from the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) for highway resurfacing projects. The data collected were used to test the framework. The framework yielded statistically significant results in simulating project conditions and optimizing TCEI. The results showed that the change in project conditions had a significant impact on the TCEI optimal solutions. The correlation between TCEI suggested that they affected each other positively, but in different strengths. The findings of the study will assist contractors to visualize the impact of their decision on the relationship of TCEI.

▼ In terms of global TFT-LCD industry, the most important competitors for Taiwan TFT-LCD industry are Korean Samsung & LG Philips (LPL) at present. To compete with them, it becomes one of the important strategies to work with Mainland China as working partners. The development of âstrategy of heading west to Chinaâ becomes the most direct way to reduce cost & maintain business. When managers prudently evaluate industryâs heading west to China, how to reduce the conflict faced by the enterprise & employees is becoming one of the important issues for experts & enterprises recently.
Referring to the interimportance & the interdependence of the criteria items that the experts selected in evaluation of the inclination to detain for oversea dispatching staff, AHP was applied to compare the interimportance of the clusters, and then ANP was applied to compare the interdependence of the clusters, and the expert questionnaires were collected. The interimportance of the questionnaires was calculated through AHP, and the interdependence was calculated through ANP in order to construct the weighting system of the inclination to detain for oversea dispatching staff, as the reference to the policy of oversea dispatch for the
subject company. It can increase the scientific factors for human decisions.
Data of C Company was analyzed through ANP & the findings were as follows.

▼ Quality of housing is crucial to an individual's quality of life as it is known to affect human health and well-being. Several studies have employed different methods to assess housing quality. These methods, however, failed to account for the interdependence among the factors (criteria) used for evaluating the quality of housing. This thesis proposes an Analytic Network Process (ANP)-based framework, integrated into Geographic Information Systems (GIS), to assess housing quality. ANP is a multicriteria analysis method. It provides a tool for identifying the relative importance of all the elements (criteria) influencing a goal of decision/evaluation problem (e.g., the problem of evaluating housing quality). The method allows for incorporating dependence relationships into the multicriteria evaluation procedure. A case study of housing quality evaluation at the district level in Ghana using the framework is presented. A set of quality based indicators related to the physical (structural material, dwelling types, housing services), socio-economic (tenure and household density (overcrowding) and environmental (modes of solid waste and liquid waste disposal) aspects of dwellings was used for the evaluation. The results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed approach. The GIS-based ANP approach allows for examining spatial distribution of housing quality. It also identifies the most important factors (indicators) contributing to the variability of housing quality in Ghana.

▼ Objective of this thesis is to find out relative importance of website success factors in selecting the most preferred e-recruitment website by identifying different relative importance of each website success factors and priority of alternative websites across e-recruitment domains in Iran. This study is concerned with users of two e-recruitment websites in Iran, www.irantalent.com, and, www.agahjobs.com. The mechanics of a website is based on a literature surrounding information system success and service success. Updated Delone and McLean IS Success Model is one of the highly cited models: which concerns both IS and Service quality as an antecedent of website success. Therefore, this model that can be adapted to measurement challenges of new e-commerce world is chosen as framework for investigating e-recruitment website success. There are feedback loops between IS success variables in Updated Delone and McLean IS success model, so that this model does not have specifying levels as in a hierarchy. Therefore to identify relative importance of different success variable and to rank alternative websites, Updated D&M IS Success Model is extended through Analytic Network Process (ANP) approach. A 9 scale internet mediated questionnaire was designed and sent to 383 individuals for pair-wise comparisons (http://www.irexpert.ir/webforms/quest/quest1.aspx). Results indicate that Irantalent.com is highly preferred to Agahjobs.com with respect to all success measures in the Updated Delone and McLean IS Success model. Moreover, relative importance of success measures based on their influence on interrelated measures was found. The findings of this thesis provide decision makers of e-recruitment companies with useful insights to enhance their website quality.
