1. Čičelis, Nerijus. Transporto priemonių vairuotojų akinimo tyrimas.

Degree: Master, Mechanical Engineering, 2006, Lithuanian University of Agriculture

Nerijus Cicelis' MA thesis on "Research on dazzle of motor vehicle drivers". The extent of this master thesis is 58 pages and it includes 30 illustrations, 5 tables as well as 1 appendices. List of references consists of 34 sources. The start date of work is 09-01-2004; the end date is 06-10-2006. A research was carried out concerning the following topics: traffic safety in Lithuania, the features of visual information the driver receives, dazzle and the means to reduce the effect of it. The impact of sight-object and background illuminance level on vision sharpness, the contrast of sight-object and background illuminance level as well as the throughput of luminous flux was analyzed at the theoretical level. Deducted formulas were of great help in calculating the weight of vision adaptation duration after dazzle on the recommended distance vision. It was measured that when illuminance level is 100 lx and the object contrast with the background changes from 0.33 to 0.5, vision sharpness increases from 0.67 to 0.84, or by 1.3. The impact of vision adaptation duration on the recommended minimum distance vision range of driver when adhesion ratio is decreasing, changes from 2 to 89%. The results of the research on vehicle driver's vision adaptation and on vehicles rear position-lights signals are presented herein. Driver’s vision, dazzled by red, yellow and white light, adapts respectively per (2.8...5.8); (2.8...6.8); (2.4...4.0) seconds, when illuminance level varies from 2 to ...
