▼ The conceptual basis of the Human Capital Theory determines that one individual, upon acquiring more knowledge and skills, would increase their human capital value, and consequently increase their employability, productivity and income potential. Another important factor is that investment in education leads to an increase in future income, and would have the individual stand out in the society in the form of welfare and technological innovation (CUNHA; CORNACCHIONE JUNIOR; MARTINS, 2010). Considering this assumption, this study aimed to analyze the influence of the master s degree in alumni of the Accounting Sciences course from FECAP from the perspective of the Human Capital Theory. Therefore, a descriptive research was conducted, which used a quantitative and qualitative approach, comprising three steps: a) field survey with a questionnaire applied to all the alumni who graduated until August 30, 2013; b) document analysis of curriculum Lattes of all alumni who responded to the questionnaire, and c) inquiries of alumni PhD to analyze their professional, academic and social trajectory after the Master s degree. The sample comprised 180 alumni with Master s degree and 4 PhD. Data was analyzed using descriptive statistics, factor analysis, and analysis of interview transcripts. The survey results allowed us to identify that Masters in Accounting Sciences from FECAP are mostly male, mean age of 47 years, married, with children, residents in the city of S??o Paulo and majored in Accounting Sciences, whose main paid activity are the market and academy, most are employed in the private sector and have compensation exceeding R$ 9,000.00. The survey showed that there is an improvement in the salary range upon completion of the course. However, men receive the highest remuneration. When considering the main paid activity, data showed that the market pays better than the academy. Most chose the master's degree aiming to expand the possibilities of work, for personal fulfillment and satisfaction and to join and/or ascend the teaching profession. The main factors perceived by FECAP masters as most influenced by the master title (CUNHA, J. V. A., 2007) were: academic spirit, professional differentiation, analytical skills, employability, career opportunities, respectability and academic/professional recognition. When performing the factor analysis, three factors were obtained, considering only ten variables: Factor 1 - nominated Personal Satisfaction, Factor 2 - nominated Employability and Compensation and Factor 3 - nominated Professional Highlight. The academic contribution of FECAP masters focuses on the guidance and participation in examination boards. By analyzing the professional, academic and social history of the PhD in Accounting Sciences, we detected that respondents recognize their role as researchers and the importance of scientific production to society. ▼ O estudo trata de uma pesquisa doutoral com objetivo central de investigar a produ??o do conhecimento gerado pelas disserta??es e teses de docentes da FEFF-UFAM. O percurso metodol?gico se configurou por um estudo de caso, com cunho explorat?rio descritivo e como procedimento, a an?lise bibliogr?fica e documental, al?m do uso do ?esquema paradigm?tico ou matriz epistemol?gica?, um instrumento de pesquisa projetado para avaliar produ??o cient?fica, com a combina??o da t?cnica qualitativa e quantitativa utilizadas de forma complementar. As fontes foram constitu?das pelas disserta??es e teses dos docentes produzidas entre 1981 a 2014, bem como seus curr?culos lattes. As informa??es foram identificadas e analisadas atrav?s de fichamentos, formul?rios e tabula??es estat?sticas. Os resultados identificaram 33 disserta??es e 18 teses, destacando-se o Sudeste como a regi?o de maior realiza??o dos estudos. As ?reas tem?ticas dos estudos com maior destaque foi treinamento desportivo, no mestrado (39,39%) e, no doutorado, treinamento desportivo, Inclus?o e diferen?a, com (22,23%). As problem?ticas regionais foram destacadas com maior interesse nos estudos dos docentes, havendo no mestrado 22 (69,69%) no estado do Amazonas e no doutorado 9 (50%) tamb?m no Amazonas, esses indicadores denotam a rela??o das pesquisas com a identidade local e tamb?m com o desafio do pesquisador em tra?ar a??es determinantes que se revertam em melhorias sociais. O instrumento de pesquisa mais utilizado pelos pesquisadores foram os testes, tanto no mestrado (48,7%) como no doutorado (30,4%). A pesquisa descritiva prevaleceu no mestrado com (29,4%) e doutorado (26,3%). As t?cnicas utilizadas foram de car?ter quantitativo em ambos, mestrado (69,69%) e doutorado (44,44%). Sobre a abordagem epistemol?gica utilizada o predom?nio foi da tend?ncia emp?rico-anal?tico, mestrado (78,78%) e doutorado (61,11%). Os resultados indicam que os estudos evolu?ram e acompanharam as tend?ncias da EF no Brasil, no entanto, com ra?zes calcadas nas bases das ci?ncias biol?gicas e nos aspectos tecnicistas. Concernente aos impactos nas demandas regionais os resultados apontam que mesmo em condi??es adversas houve sens?veis impactos oriundos das produ??es dos docentes da FEFF-UFAM no Amazonas. p>The study deals with a doctoral research with a central objective of investigating the production of the knowledge generated by the dissertations and theses of professors of FEFF-UFAM. The methodological course was configured by a descriptive exploratory case study and as a procedure, the bibliographical and documentary analysis, besides the use of the "paradigmatic scheme or epistemological matrix", a research instrument designed to evaluate scientific production, with the combination qualitative and quantitative techniques used in a complementary way. ▼ This paper considers that the knowledge of accounting has different use and demanding levels, regarding accountants and non-accountant users. The study observes existing post-graduation courses in business administration, lato sensu, at S??o Paulo city, which business objectives considers filling up accounting needs for students from different graduation than accounting, those who, through a MBA course, look for a technical complement in order to meet their employers demand. The author points the need to improve the teaching-learning process of the accounting contents to non-account public, process itself analysed according to the quantified exceptions methodology . Based on interviews and a research, done with Coordinators and Accounting teachers, a reasonable data information was obtained, which made possible elaborate relevant comments regarding the existing problem and the forecasted hypotheses involved. The research questions were development taking into consideration the teaching process phases and its teaching keysuccess factors on accounting education for non-accountants, as follow, a) Program content; b) Student selection process; c) Teaching available infrastructure; d) Teaching / didactic process; e) Teacher; and f) Evaluation criteria. Based on several tables, derived from the research and interviews, the author presents, in the end, his consideration about the subject and raises some other questions in order to improve the accounting education process for non-account public, highlighting the following: 1) the teaching system needs to be better understood; 2) the examples, exercises and application have to be revised to the focus-public; 3) The MBA courses should consider in it s curricula an specific discipline concerning account teaching for non-account; 4) a better integration and synergy between the course disciplines and 5) awareness about the causes and effects regarding the key-factors discussed in this paper. ▼ O Mestrado Profissional em Engenharia de Produ??o da UFAM possui um papel importante para o desenvolvimento tecnol?gico, econ?mico e social da regi?o norte. A CAPES busca avaliar a efetividade e a qualidade da inser??o de novos mestres no meio acad?mico e o impacto na sociedade dos conhecimentos obtidos. Neste sentido, este trabalho tem o objetivo de analisar as contribui??es do curso de Mestrado Profissional em Engenharia de Produ??o da UFAM para o desenvolvimento da ?rea e os seus desafios futuros. Para atingir o objetivo proposto, foi realizada uma pesquisa de natureza quantitativa e qualitativa, de cunho descritivo e baseada em dados coletados por meio de question?rio e entrevistas semiestruturadas. Os resultados da pesquisa indicam que s?o geradas contribui??es tanto para os egressos a partir da melhora na sua situa??o profissional, para as organiza??es por meio das pesquisas implementadas e que geram o desenvolvimento local e regional, quanto para a academia por meio de termos de parcerias para capacitar estes profissionais. O estudo aponta que, embora a pesquisa tenha identificado que os egressos buscaram participa??o em eventos, o programa possui fragilidades no que tange ? qualifica??o e ? quantidade de produ??es cient?ficas realizadas tanto por discentes quanto por docentes, requisito fundamental para al?ar um conceito superior junto a CAPES. p>The Professional Master in Production Engineering at UFAM has an important role in the technological, economic, and social development of the northern region. CAPES seeks to evaluate the effectiveness and quality of the insertion of new masters in the academic environment and the impact on society of the knowledge obtained. In this sense, this work aims to analyze the contributions of the Professional Master's course in Production Engineering at UFAM to the development of the area and its future challenges. To achieve the proposed objective, quantitative and qualitative research was carried out, of a descriptive nature and based on data collected through a questionnaire and semi-structured interviews. The results of the research indicate that contributions are generated both for the graduates from the improvement in their professional situation, for the organizations through the implemented researches that generate local and regional development, and for the academy through terms of partnerships to empower these professionals. ▼ The idea of this research has emerged from the researcher's interest in knowing the expectations that really lead professionals who are more and more young and inexperienced in the work market to seek specialization through lato sensu post graduation courses, derived from questions posed by students, in her closeness to them as a teacher in such courses. In order to understand the sources and references that most motivate students in the choice of an institution to take a lato sensu post graduation course, and the intensity with which these information correlate according to the evaluation of students themselves, concepts of behaviors of customers of services have been applied, aiming to check their adequacy to such a specific and complex service, not only by the high level of participation demanded from students, but also by course terms, financial investment, and lack of guaranty of obtaining the final result which is the title. The sources and nature of expectations, obtained through bibliographic survey and exploratory approaches, have been evaluated in the classroom, through a quantitative research, with a self assessment questionnaire with 310 students who were taking a lato sensu post graduation course in Business Administration, at a private institution in the city of S??o Paulo, in March, 2004. The statistical analysis of the results, through multivariated techniques of factorial analysis and discriminant analysis have proved that the main expectations of these students are connected to the acquisition of professional competitiveness and the school choice fundamentally depends on the reliability that it is able to win regarding the possibility to confer such competitiveness, through the combination of several aspects that go from the rules that are established by the school, to tangible service aspects, to explicit communication promises, to the reputation of the school in the specialized media and in the market place, to word-of-mouth information process. Another interesting aspect revealed by the discriminant analysis is that the importance of such expectations and sources of reference are independent from the course, the student's gender, age, or professional experience, but not from the fact that the company is or not paying for the studies. ▼ Scientific research is presented as a way to develop systematic responses to emerging global issues of the world of historical and human needs; its rationalization takes place through inquiries, questions and concerns. This study aimed to outline a profile of research studies developed by a master's program in accounting from 2001 to 2010, trying to identify advances and limitations and to highlight the levels of methodological appropriateness and the compliance with the quality standards of research in accounting. A descriptive qualitative approach was adopted to achieve those goals. Data were collected through documentary analysis and analyzed using descriptive statistics and content analysis. We found that the master students' interest concentrated mainly on financial accounting with 131 (52%) conducted research studies, followed by controlling and management with 119 (48%) studies. The themes of greatest interest to researchers in those fields were performance management practices with 67 (27%) studies, followed by continued education and corporate training in accounting with 47 (19%) studies, and by accounting information and the capital market with 39 (16%) studies. Regarding the scientific features of the analyzed studies, we found greater compliance with the criteria related to \"how to research\", i.e., it was observed that the researchers aimed to elucidate aspects such as: a) research type; b) methods and techniques of data collection and analysis. We further observed that their difficulties were related to \"what and whyr̈esearch, such as greater clarity, delimitation, and articulation between: a) the title; b) the problem and; c) goals to be achieved. Regarding the scientific quality of the research abstracts, we found difficulties related to aspects such as: a) the approach and the type of the conducted research; b) the synthesis of the main findings and the conclusions of the study. We concluded that the main concern of researchers concentrated rather on methodological aspects than on epistemological and formal aspects. That fact shows that there are still difficulties in identifying the study object, in formulating the research question, its relation to the theme and the goals. The means should be defined according to the goals to be achieved and the solution of the investigated problems. ▼ This research addresses the birth and history of cities, its structure, management and an evaluation tool that public managers are currently using: social indicators. This is because the expense is a concern among all the directors are not different to government managers. The aim of this study was to find relationship between the indicator of the wealth S?o Paulo index for Social Responsibility and public spending represented by the functions of government, and find possible trends of public expenditures of municipalities of S?o Paulo state, among those considered the richest and poor in 2000, 2002 and 2004. The research was quantitative in nature, with research literature, documentary and explanatory, and use as a statistical tool to multiple regression. We analyzed 75% of municipalities, making the number of 484 of 645 municipalities in the State of S?o Paulo. The difference of 25% is given for the lack of accounting data of the municipalities that did not send their information to the National Treasury Secretariat, which feeds the program FINBRA, preventing the study of all the municipalities of the state in those years. Municipalities that did not submit its accounting to NTS data were excluded from the search. Furthermore, a study was conducted on the functions of government, as proposed in the years to research, there were two doors: the n? 09/1974 and n? 42/1999 of. These ordinances help to standardize the constitutional budget cuts with regard to the functions of government. It must therefore standardize these functions of government for all municipalities and thus facilitate the work. The treatment given to this pattern was so historic, reviewing legislation since its determination from the end of the 1930s. For the indicator of wealth of the SPISR, not requiring special treatment, because all the municipalities of S?o Paulo State had its indicator. The answer to the question of research was that there is relationship between the indicator of wealth of SPISR in public spending made by municipalities in the years 2000, 2002 and 2004, so finding, including trends in spending between rich districts and municipalities as considered poor. ▼ The purpose of this study was to investigate the increasing importance of person-organisation fit in organisations and how this might be attained during the recruitment and selection process. It achieved this aim by examining Schneider’s (1987) attraction-selection-attrition model within a graduate recruitment context. Three stakeholder perspectives were studied – job seekers, recruiters and employees – with each perspective assigned to one element of the model. The study consisted of three distinct parts. First, an online survey was completed by 137 university students to understand the ‘attraction’ element of the model, and to gauge the importance placed on person-organisation fit by job seekers. Second, 26 graduate recruiters were surveyed, and a further seven interviewed, to ascertain the emphasis placed on person-organisation fit during the ‘selection’ phase, and to gain an understanding of how ‘fit’ is assessed. Finally, ‘attrition’ to the firm was explored by surveying graduates and measuring the level of values congruence obtained with their employing organisation. The results revealed that although job seekers do consciously assess the values of the organisations to which they apply, person-organisation fit was not found to be of much importance to them. Instead, self-selection was based upon more tangible elements, such as reputation, of a firm. On the other hand, it was found that person-organisation fit has become a prevailing feature of the graduate selection process, with organisations spending a large percentage of time evaluating a candidate’s ‘fit’ to the firm rather than their ‘fit’ to the specific requirements of the job. Person-organisation fit was typically assessed during in-person interactions, with recruiters evaluating a range of behavioural competencies that related back to the firm’s core values. This study also revealed a low level of values congruence (i.e. person-organisation fit) is actually achieved in the appointment of university graduates. Overall, support for the attraction-selection-attrition framework is not found, as person-organisation fit appears to be neither of great importance to job seekers, nor is a high level of ‘fit’ attained in the recruitment and selection of graduates. ▼ The federal decentralization promoted by the Constitution of 1988 raised the Brazilian municipalities to the important role in the dissemination of public policies. Once they are closest to the population, the decisions made at the municipal level are readily perceived by users and citizens. On the other hand, the social demands and the management of the administrative structure need efficient financial management and a constant search for resources. Additionally, the 9.478/97 Act, which amended the mode of distribution of oil revenues, brought to some municipalities, a new frontier of resources available by the distribution of oil royalties. Given this new frontier of resources, one wonders whether there is not relaxation in fiscal effort and an increasing inefficiency in the management of the administrative machinery by the benefited municipalities. The aim of this work is verify if petroleum revenues cause distortions in the way municipalities run their fiscal effort, that is, if the oil royalties contribute to increase inefficiencies in the municipalities involved in their search for the own revenues and their expense management. For this work, we selected 56 municipalities of the State of S??o Paulo which have been received the distribution of oil revenues during the period between the years 2005 to 2012. The efficiency of municipalities was obtained from a non-parametric production frontier model, the Data Envelopment Analysis - DEA, creating a ranking of the S??o Paulo municipalities which received oil royalties. Given the distribution rules of oil royalties imposed by the regulatory framework, the results showed the values distributed to S??o Paulo municipalities have great variability and has been showed relevant only in a few municipalities. There was no significant difference in the tax effort of the municipalities affected by the variable oil royalites. ▼ Pulmonary rehabilitation (PR) has a positive effect on COPD patients. The response to PR demonstrates positive impacts on daily life activities and exercise tolerance. However, the referral criteria to PR program for COPD patients does not mention anything about the time factor or the stage of the disease. The recommended stage of starting the program should be included in the acceptance guidelines. More studies are needed to examine which COPD stage will benefit more than the others. PURPOSE: The purpose of the study is to determine the most optimal time to start pulmonary rehabilitation for COPD patients. METHOD: A retrospective study was utilized, and the data were collected from an urban hospital for the last five years (2013 to 2017). Patients were divided into four groups using the GOLD classification guideline for COPD patients. Every group represents different FEV₁ range and has pre- and post-PR program variables. The measured variables were 6MWT and Chronic Respiratory Questionnaire(CRQ). The evaluation focused on the comparison between the groups, not within the groups. DATA ANALYSIS: The analysis was conducted by SPSS version 24.0. Descriptive statistics, dependent sample t-test, ANOVA, and Welch test were utilized. T-test was used to find the difference between pre- and post-variables and ANOVA test to compare the difference between the four groups. RESULTS: comparison between groups ANOVA results were Six-minute walk difference F (3.65) =1.3, p=.281. Dyspnea difference F (3.65) =.155, p=.926. Fatigue difference F (3,65) =.640, p=.592. Emotional difference F (3,65) =.221, p=.881. Mastery difference F (3,65) =.363, p=.780. CONCLUSION: There was a significant difference between pre- and post-pulmonary rehabilitation results and all the groups responded positively to the program. There were no significantly different responses to the program between the four groups. As a result, there is no specific preferred stage to start the program. ▼ Syftet med studien var att undersöka om person-organization fit påverkar arbetstillfredsställelse. Vidare var syftet också att undersöka om kön och ålder påverkar person-organization fit och arbetstillfredsställelse. P-O fit är kongruensen mellan individens och organisationens mål eller värderingar. P-O fit är en faktor som påverkar arbetstillfredsställelse. Undersökningen utfördes genom en enkät som delades på sociala medier med totalt 106 respondenter mellan åldrarna 21 till 69. Alla deltagarna arbetade minst deltid upp till heltid. Enkäten baserades på Minnesota Satisfaction Questionnaire (MSQ) ochPerson-Organization Fit Scale (POFS). Resultatet visade att både P-O fit och ålder korrelerar med arbetstillfredsställelse. Vidare visade resultatet att män upplever högre skattad arbetstillfredsställelse. P-O fit är därför en viktig faktor som influerar den anställda att nå en hög arbetstillfredsställelse, eftersom en anställd vill arbeta på en organisation som är i samma linje som ens egna värderingar. Genom att uppleva hög arbetstillfredsställelse ökar även flexibiliteten vilket vidare bidrar till mer effektivt arbete från arbetstagaren. p> The purpose of the study was to investigate whether person-organization fit affects job satisfaction. Furthermore, the purpose was also to investigate whether gender and age affect person-organization fit and job satisfaction. P-O fit is the congruence between the individual's or the organization's goals or values. P-O fit is a factor that affects work satisfaction. The survey was constructed and shared on social media with a total of 106 respondents between the ages of 21 to 69. All participants worked at least part-time with most full-time. The survey was based on the Minnesota Satisfaction Questionnaire (MSQ) and the Person-Organization Fit Scale (POFS). The result showed that both P-O fit and age correlate with job satisfaction. Furthermore, the results showed that men experience higher estimated work satisfaction. P-O fit is therefore an important factor that influences the employee to achieve a high level of job satisfaction, since an employee wants to work at an organization that is in the same line as one's own values. By experiencing high job satisfaction, flexibility also increases, which further contributes to more efficient work on the part of the employee. p>
