▼ This research develops three efficient textile flaw detection methods to facilitate automated textile inspection for the textile-related industries. Their novelty lies in detecting flaws with knowledge directly extracted from textile images, unlike existing methods which detect flaws with empirically specified texture features. The first two methods treat textile flaw detection as a texture classification problem, and consider that defect-free images of a textile fabric normally possess common latent images, called basis-images. The inner product of a basis-image and an image acquired from this fabric is a feature value of this fabric image. As the defect-free images are similar, their feature values gather in a cluster, whose boundary can be determined by using the feature values of known defect-free images. A fabric image is considered defect-free, if its feature values lie within this boundary. These methods extract the basis-images from known defect-free images in a training process, and require less consideration than existing methods on the degree of matching of a textile to the texture features specified for the textile. One method uses matrix singular value decomposition (SVD) to extract these basis-images containing the spatial relationship of pixels in rows or in columns. The alternative method uses tensor decomposition to find the relationship of pixels in both rows and columns within each training image and the common relationship of these training images. Tensor decomposition is found to be superior to matrix SVD in finding the basis-images needed to represent these defect-free images, because extracting and decomposing the tri-lateral relationship usually generates better basis-images. The third method solves the textile flaw detection problem by means of texture segmentation, and is suitable for online detection because it does not require texture features specified by experience or found from known defect-free images. The method detects the presence of flaws by using the contrast between regions in the feature images of a textile image. These feature images are the output of a filter bank consisting of Gabor filters with scales and rotations. This method selects the feature image with maximal image contrast, and partitions this image into regions with morphological watershed transform to facilitate faster searching of defect-free regions and to remove isolated pixels with exceptional feature values. Regions with no flaws have similar statistics, e.g. similar means. Regions with significantly dissimilar statistics may contain flaws and are removed iteratively from the set which initially contains all regions. Removing regions uses the thresholds determined by using Neyman-Pearson criterion and updated along with the remaining regions in the set. This procedure continues until the set only contains defect-free regions. The occurrence of the removed regions indicates the presence of flaws whose extents are decided by pixel classification using the thresholds derived from the defect-free regions. …

▼ The aim of this research was to establish the optimum processing conditions and parameters for producing nonwoven fabrics best suited for application in disposable and protective wear for surgical gowns, drapes and laboratory coats. Carded and crosslapped webs, of three basic weights (80, 120, and 150g/m2), from greige (unscoured and unbleached) cotton, viscose and polyester fibres, were hydroentangled, using three different waterjet pressures (60, 100 and 120 bars), on a Fleissner Aquajet hydroentanglement machine. An antibacterial agent (Ruco-Coat FC 9005) and a fluorochemical water repellent agent (Ruco Bac-AGP), were applied in one bath using the pad-dry-cure technique, to impart both antibacterial and water repellent properties to the fabrics, SEM photomicrographs indicating that the finished polymers were evenly dispersed on the fabric surface. The effect of waterjet pressure, fabric weight and type and treatment on the structure of the nonwoven produced, was evaluated by measuring the relevant characteristics of the fabrics. As expected, there was an interrelationship between fabric weight, thickness, and density, the fabric thickness and mass density increasing with fabric weight. An increase in waterjet pressure decreased the fabric thickness and increased the fabric density. The water repellent and antibacterial treatment increased the fabric weight and thickness. The antimicrobial activity of the fabrics was assessed by determining the percentage reduction in Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli bacteria population. The maximum percent reduction at 24hrs contact time for both bacteria ranged from 99.5 to 99.6 percent for all the fabric types. The standard spray test ratings for the three treated fabrics ranged from 80-90 percent, whereas that of the untreated water repellent fabric was zero, while the contact angles for all the fabric types exceeded 90 degrees, indicating good resistance to wetting. It was found that the tensile strength of the fabric in the cross-machine direction was higher than that in the machine direction, for both the treated and untreated fabrics, with the tensile strengths in both the MD and CD of the treated fabrics were greater than that of the untreated fabrics, the reverse being true for the extension at break. An increase in waterjet pressure increased the tensile strength but decreased the extension at break, for both the treated and untreated fabrics. The finishing treatment decreased the mean pore size of all the fabrics, the mean pore size decreasing with an increase in fabric weight and waterjet pressure. An increase in waterjet pressure and fabric weight decreased the air and water vapour permeability, as did the finishing treatment, although the differences were not always statistically significant. The polyester fabrics had the highest water and air permeability. ▼ This study is divided in to two main parts. The first part deals with the optimization of process parameters of needle-punched non-woven fabrics for achieving maximum sound absorption by employing a Box-Behnken factorial design. The influence of fibre type, depth of needle penetration and stroke frequency on sound absorption properties were studied. These parameters were varied at three levels during experimental trials. From multiple regression analysis, it was observed that the depth of needle penetration alone was the most dominant factor among the selected parameters, which was followed by the interaction between depth of needle penetration and stroke frequency. Fibre type was the least dominant parameter affecting sound absorption. A maximum sound absorption coefficient of 47% (0.47) was obtained from the selected parameters. The results showed that for a process such as needle-punching, which is influenced by multiple variables, it is important to also study the interactive effects of process parameters for achieving optimum sound absorption. The second part of the study deals with the effect of type of natural fibre (fineness), and the blending ratio (with PET fibres) on the air permeability of the needle-punched non-woven fabrics and then it proceeds to study the effect of the air-gap, type of natural fibre (fineness) and blending ratio (with PET fibres) on sound absorption of needle-punched non-woven fabrics. These parameters are tested individually and their two way interaction (synergy) effect using ANOVA. The air-gap was varied from 0mm to 25mm with 5mm increments, three natural fibre types were used and all were blended with polyester fibres at three blending ratios for each natural fibre type. The Univariate Tests of Significance shows that all three parameters have a significant effect on sound absorption together with two two-way interactions, with the exception of the Blend Ratio × Air Gap two-way interaction which was not significant. It was found that the sound absorption improves with the increase in the air-gap size up to 15mm after which sound absorption decreased slightly with the further increase in the air-gap up to 25mm.

▼ Cotton possesses many characteristics that make it desirable to the consumer, and this has resulted in its usage in a broad range of products. Cotton, however, is a flammable material that is easily ignited and rapidly consumed. The flame retardant treatment of cotton is, therefore, an important textile process that has received wide attention over many years. There are a number of commercial flame retardant treatments available for cotton, the most common being phosphate-based. These treatments, however, often have drawbacks or have a negative impact on the desirable properties of the fibre and the challenge still exists for designing better flame retardant products and systems that are durable and have limited impact on fibre properties. The study considers the application of the sol-gel as a coating on fabric that was pre-treated with a phosphate-based flame retardant or as a means for applying a phosphate-based flame retardant. Both treatment methods were found to be suitable for imparting flame resistance to the fabric. The effect of various phosphate-based flame retardants on flammability and fabric properties such as colour, handle and strength was investigated and it was shown that a di-ammonium phosphate and urea combination gave the best flame resistance. In this regard, a flame resistance was achieved with a lower amount of phosphorous than was used in similar conventional treatments. The durability of the coating to rinsing with water and soaping with a detergent was also investigated. It was found that the flame resistance was lost after rinsing or soaping but the prevention of afterglow combustion was retained. It was shown that the preparatory treatment of the fabric influenced the sol-gel coating process and the flammability of the fabric. Mercerisation and bleaching of the fabric increased the “wet pick-up” during the coating process and improved the flame resistance. The influence of various factors was also investigated in further detail. The ratio of the sol-gel components, the delay after coating prior to drying (hang time) and the curing time were investigated using an experimental design. The curing time and the ratio of components in the sol-gel were shown to have the greatest influence on fabric properties and fabric flammability. ▼ The relationship between the fabric parameters, as independent variables, and the comfort related properties, as dependent variables, of commercial suiting fabrics, containing both natural and man-made fibres, have been studied. The fabric parameters measured in the study were mass, thickness, density, and air permeability. The comfort related properties, tested on a Permetest instrument, included water vapour permeability, water vapour resistance, and thermal resistance, with the moisture permeability index being derived. A total of 26 commercial suiting fabrics, covering a wide range of mass, as well as different fibre types and blends and fabric structures, was tested. The fibres covered, included wool, polyester, viscose, and cotton, while the fabric structures covered were 1x1 plain weave, 2x1 twill and 2x2 twill weave. The objectives of this study were to determine the empirical relationships between the measured fabric properties and the measured comfort related properties, and to determine the role, if any, of fibre type and fabric structure, since many claims are made in practice concerning the relative advantages, in terms of comfort, of a specific fibre type or blend, or fabric structure, over others, some of which being supported by research results. Since the fabrics covered, were commercial and were not engineered so that the different fabric parameters (independent variables) and fibre type and blend, as well as fabric structure could be varied independently of each other, the effects of the various fabric parameters on the fabric comfort related properties were determined and quantified by multiple regression analyses (multi-linear and multi-quadratic), and the best fit regression equations, and contribution of each parameter to the overall fit established. It was found that fabric thickness and fabric mass had the largest effect on the comfort related properties as measured here, fabric mass determining, to a large extent, water vapour permeability, and fabric thickness, thermal resistance. The rest of the fabric parameters included in the study had only a relatively small effect on the measured comfort related properties. The influence of fabric parameters, with particular reference to mass and thickness, on the measured comfort related properties, were much greater than that of fibre type or blend, or fabric structure. ▼ In June 2002, the C. E. Smith Museum of Anthropology at California State University received a gift of over one hundred Andean textiles and related artifacts. The majority of these materials are pre-Hispanic woven textiles of cotton and camelid fibers. None of the items was excavated archaeologically so provenience data are unavailable. This poses a question, can a probable provenience or cultural affiliation be determined from data observable in the fibers, structures and motifs of the textiles and can such a determination by systematized. The approach taken in this study relies on the fact that the textiles are artifacts created by people. As such, the textiles vary depending on a number of cultural factors including technological innovation, trade in raw materials, and stylistic features such as iconography and the color palette employed. A summary of the variation in different features of Andean woven textiles from region to region and over time was prepared. These features were determined for the textiles of unknown provenience from the C.E. Smith Museum collection. A comparison between textiles recovered archaeologically and the collection was made in an attempt to determine a possible, or even probable, provenience for each textile. This thesis discusses the systematic approach taken to determine textile features and make the comparison with the archaeological record. An interpretive review of motif and color was necessary to confirm a probable provenience for each textile. Appendices include data from the summary of archaeological textiles as well as the features of the collection. A brief catalog of the C.E. Smith Museum collection is also included for reference by other researchers. The study concludes with a discussion of the accuracy of the quantitative determination of probable provenience compared to the interpretive review of features such as color and motif. The value of a systematic and quantifiable approach to the analysis of Andean woven textiles, especially for the inexperienced analyst, is considered and the possibilities for further refinement of this approach are examined. ▼ The study deals with the chemical and flame retardant (FR) treatment of woven flax fabric and preparation and characterization of flax reinforced phenolic composites. Sheets of flax fabric were subjected to chemical treatments using NaOH and silane coupling agents. A phosphate-based flame retardant (DAP) was applied to decrease the flammability of the flax fabric. The effect of the chemical treatments and FR treatments on the thermal and flammability properties of the fabric and composites was investigated using thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), vertical flame resistance test and cone calorimeter. The mechanical properties of the flax fabric and composites, before and after environmental ageing, were investigated. Ageing studies were carried out by exposing the samples in an environmental chamber at specified conditions for two weeks. TGA results showed that the treatment of the fabric with FR shifts the decomposition temperature to lower level and increases the char residue. Vertical flame resistance testing showed that FR treatment of the flax fabric improved the flammability properties. There was no after flame and afterglow observed for FR treated flax fabric due to self-extinguishment after removal of the flame. Flax Fabric without FR burned completely and there was no result for the char length due to the complete destruction of the fabric. The FR treatment, however, seemed to have had a negative effect on the tensile strength of the flax fabric. This was further intensified upon exposure of FR treated flax fabric to high temperatures during ageing studies which drastically reduced the tensile strength by more than 90%, and the flax fabric were found to be brittle and darker in visual appearance. TGA results of flax/phenolic composites showed that for composites containing chemically treated and FR treated flax fabric the decomposition temperatures shifted to lower temperatures; however there was no significant difference in the amount of char residue. Untreated flax/phenolic composites exhibited the lowest char residue. Cone calorimeter results showed that the peak heat release rate (PHRR), smoke production rate (SPR) and carbon dioxide (CO2) emission rate was reduced for the flax/phenolic composite produced using FR treated flax fabric. The tensile strength of these composites was reduced while there was an increase in modulus value. Exposure of the FR treated composites to high temperatures further reduced the tensile strength and increased the E-modulus. Both FR treated and untreated composites changed in colour and the FR treated composites were found to be brittle after exposure to high temperatures.

▼ The purpose of this study was to determine if the preferences in clothing fabrics and preferences in home furnishing fabrics are similar or different in color, design size, and line. The relationships of age, education, and training in color and design to agreement of clothing fabrics and home furnishing fabrics preferences were also investigated. Thirty slides from the Compton Fabric Preference Test (CFPT) were used to measure color and design size preference in clothing; thirty slides from Hada's Furniture Fabric Preference Test (FFPT) were used to measure color and design size preference in home furnishings. Twelve slides for clothing and twelve slides for home furnishings were developed by the investigator to measure straight and curved line preferences. These slides were similar in appearance to the CFPT and the FFPT and were combined with them. All the slides were of the paired comparison format. Two fabrics were shown on each slide and the respondent was to select fabric 'A' or 'B' for each pair. The dimension that was selected the majority of the time for each variable was designated as the preference of the respondent for that variable. Demographic information was obtained from a questionnaire submitted along with the answer sheets for the two tests. The two tests were given to eight groups in Salem, Oregon, who agreed to participate in the study. A total of 117 women were tested; 13 were eliminated from the sample as they did not fall within the specified age range, and two additional persons were disqualified because their answer sheets were not completed. The sample was 102 women between the ages of 25 and 65 years of age. For statistical analysis, the Pearson product moment correlation coefficient was used to test the significance of the relationship between clothing fabric preferences and home furnishing fabric preferences in color, design size, and design line. The same statistical measure was used to assess the significance of the relationship between clothing fabric and home furnishing fabric preferences for the different age groups, educational levels, and training levels. A z test was then used to test the significance of difference between the correlations within each demographic group. Frequency distributions were used for description of the demographic data. From the data, it was found that a preference in clothing fabrics and a preference in home furnishing fabrics have a significant relationship. This relationship was found for all three variables: color, design size, and design line. Preferences for small design and curved line were found for both clothing and home furnishing fabrics. A slight preference for warm color in clothing fabrics and home furnishing fabrics was found. Levels of education, age, and amount of training in color and design had no statistically significant influence on agreement of clothing and home furnishing fabric preferences in color and design. ▼ In this thesis, an efficient rotation-free (RF) triangle is proposed and applied to drape/cloth simulations in which the cloth often under large displacements and rotations. The RF model is a class of thin plate/shell computational models possessing only 3 translational degrees of freedom per director whilst their domains of influence are larger than their domains of integration. An important advantage of RF models is that they do not use rotational degrees of freedom and, thus, are not plagued by the complication in finite rotations. Among the quadrilateral and triangular RF models, the latter possesses no practical restriction on the nodal distribution and appears to be a good candidate for drape/cloth simulations. The geometrical linear formulation of the RF model is firstly considered. For straight beams and plates, the curvature is directly obtained through a complete quadratic interpolation of the transverse deflection. For linear curved beams and shells, the curvature change is again derived by the interpolation and the transverse deflection is through projection. The linear RF model is then extended to the geometrical nonlinear analyses by using the corotational framework as well as the small strain and small curvature assumptions. For the RF straight beam and plate, constant tangential bending stiffness matrices which do not need to be updated during the iterative solution process are derived. For the RF curved beam and shell, the bending energies and bending internal forces become a bit complicated. However, the tangential bending stiffness matrices can still be approximated by using the constant matrices as if they are initially straight/flat. The constant approximation exhibits negligible adverse effect on the convergence. Comparing with other exiting RF models, the present RF triangle is simple and physical yet its accuracy is competitive. In its application to static drape simulations, realistic drape configurations with obvious folds are predicted. The RF beam is extended to consider static and dynamic analyses of cable structures. Under the same nodal distributions, the present RF model can tolerate larger load increment and time step in static and explicit dynamic analyses, respectively, with respect to the two-node C0beam finite element model. For virtual sewing and dynamic cloth simulations, an integrated system is developed by synergizing the RF triangle, explicit time integration, adaptive remeshing, collision handling, human body modeling, sewing forces and a supplementary bending energy to suppress the non-physical sharp fold formation. The predicted steady-state configurations of the garments after sewing appear to be realistic and agree with our daily perception. The predictions for cloth dynamic deformations on human body model also look realistic and natural. ▼ Cloth is elemental. In its most basic form, it is created by interlacing threads in an over-under construction. Individual threads are woven together to create a substantive piece of cloth, and the result can be uncomplicated and beautiful. Elemental or basic, uncompounded visual form has the potential to be beautiful in its simplicity. Using only components deemed essential, I endeavor to create a visual experience with elegant directness and a quiet presence that arises from this idea of unassuming simplicity. My weavings focus on the essential, the elemental, and the inherent beauty found in visual simplicity. I use cloth to inhabit, divide, and shape interior architectural space. Acting as architectural markers, the weavings delineate space and guide viewer movement. It is important for me to create an overall atmosphere, as well as to provide engaging visual details. It is my intent to create a space that is refined in its simplicity, where stillness and silence are tangible. Architecture, spatial organization, movement, and color are specifically related to the viewer's experience and also described within the microcosm of the constructed cloth. The influence of architecture is evident in my work. I am particularly interested in twentieth century modern architecture. Cleanness of line, exactness of expression and use of industrial materials are aligned with my central idea of simplicity and visual economy. These characteristics influence the overall organization of the complete space and the design of the individual weavings. The two-dimensional weavings work together to create a three dimensional space. They act as an architectural construction that creates a distinct space through which viewers can move. The influence of architecture is also seen in the strong verticality and large scale of the weavings. The use of concrete, a material known for its economy and basic building applications, is a suitable companion for the cloth; both are inherently elemental in their nature. The weavings are grounded by their placement over concrete bases, reminiscent of architectural bases with columns or pillars. The spatial organization of woven fabric panels guides viewers through the work. By moving through the space, viewers can change their perspectives on the complete space as well as their proximity to the individual weavings. The small spatial gaps that occur in the weave of the cloth allow light and air to become components of the piece. This transparency encourages the layers of cloth to optically overlap and increases spatial depth. Viewers can affect the space by their own movement. Encouraged by the warmth of the material and innate human connections to the cloth, viewers can move throughout the space to take a closer look. The weavings are light and airy, and the space is activated as cloth sways with movement of the viewer. Movement is also present in specific fabric details. ▼ Ultrasonic welding technology is a relatively new technology in apparel construction, this research forms part of a study to assess its effectiveness as a joining technology that can be used in ladies swimwear. The ultimate aim was to determine whether the ultrasonic welding joining technique could be successfully used in assembling ladies swimwear garments, comprising only synthetic fibres, namely polyester/Lycra, polyamide/Lycra, polyamide/Lycra power-net and polyamide/Lycra mesh warp knitted fabrics. These specific swimwear fabrics were selected since they comprise 100% thermoplastic synthetic fibres, considered ideal for ultrasonic welding. This study essentially compares and contrasts the performance of two seam joining techniques: namely conventional sewing and ultrasonic welding, in terms of seam strength, when used in the above mentioned four fabrics. Conventionally sewn and ultrasonically welded seams were produced, straight and curved, in both the wale and course directions of the fabrics. The conventionally sewn seams were produced using two sewing machines; namely an overlocker, also known as a mock safety sewing machine, and a cover seam machines. All conventionally sewn seams were stitched and tested under similar conditions. The ultrasonic welded seams were produced using three different wheels, a Medium Male Knurled pattern wheel, a Staggered Triple Stitch pattern wheel and a Single Stitch pattern wheel. The amplitude and speed of the welding machine, during the ultrasonic seaming, were kept constant, except when welding the polyamide/Lycra power-net and the polyamide/Lycra mesh fabrics when the pressure had to be drastically reduced in order to avoid excessively softened seams. The results of the study are presented in the form of line charts, scatter charts and tables. The ultrasonic welded seams, joined with the Medium Male Knurled wheel, exhibited surface waviness, as opposed to those joined with the Staggered Triple Stitch wheel which were smooth. It was found that, in terms of seam strength, the ultrasonic seams produced with the Single Stitch and Medium Male Knurled pattern wheels out performed those produced with the Staggered Triple Stitch wheels. The polyester/Lycra fabric was found easier to handle during the ultrasonic seaming process than the polyamide/Lycra fabric, although the strength of the ultrasonic seams in the polyester/Lycra fabric did not differ consistently from those of the polyamide/Lycra fabric. It was found that the conventional sewn seams were consistently stronger, and had a better appearance, than the ultrasonic welded seams. Although some promising results were obtained, in terms of the strength of the ultrasonic welded seams, the results overall were far too variable, inconsistent and unsatisfactory for this technique of seaming to be recommended at this stage for any of the swimwear fabrics covered. ▼ The aim of this work was to establish a range of suitable process parameters which can be utilized to produce needlepunched nonwoven fabrics for geotextile applications. Nonwoven fabrics were produced from 100% PP, a blend of 50/50% PP/kenaf and 100% kenaf fibres. The depths of needle penetration of 4, 7 and 10 mm, stroke frequencies of 250, 350 and 450 strokes/min and mass per unit area of 300, 600 and 900 g/m2 were utilized for producing the fabrics, on a Dilo loom. The effect of depth of needle penetration, stroke frequency and mass per unit area on the fabric properties, namely, tensile strength, puncture resistance, pore size, water permeability and transmissivity were analysed. In addition, the effect of chemicals, namely, 10% ammonium hydroxide (NH4OH), 10% sodium chloride (NaCl) and 3% sulphuric acid (H2SO4) solutions on degradation of the fabric was also studied. The results have shown that density, thickness and nominal weight of the needlepunched nonwoven fabrics were related to each other and they were influenced by stroke frequency, depth of needle penetration and feed rate of the needlepunching process. The increase in nominal weight of the fabrics also increases thickness and density of the fabrics. The tensile strength and puncture resistance of the fabrics increased with the increases in stroke frequency, depth of needle penetration and fabric mass per unit area. However, lower tensile strength and puncture resistance were achieved in the fabrics produced at lower stroke frequency, lower depth of needle penetration and lower mass per unit area. Bigger pores were resulted in the fabrics produced at lower stroke frequency, lower depth of needle penetration and lower mass per unit area, however, pore size decreased with increases in stroke frequency, depth of needle penetration and mass per unit area. Water permeability depends on the pore size, properties of the fibres, stroke frequency, depth of needle penetration and mass per unit area. Higher tensile strength and higher puncture resistance were achieved in the needlepunched nonwoven fabrics produced from 100% PP fibres, therefore, they are suitable for some load-bearing geotextile applications, such as reinforcement and separation. However, higher water permeability was achieved in the fabrics produced from 100% kenaf fibres, therefore, they are ideal for geotextile applications where good water permeability is required. Higher values for transmissivity were obtained in the fabrics produced from a blend of 50/50% PP/kenaf fibres, therefore they are suitable for drainage applications. The fabrics produced from a blend of 50/50% PP/kenaf fibres achieved better values of tensile strength, puncture resistance, pore size and water permeability in comparison to that produced from 100% PP and 100% kenaf fibres. Textile fabrics are known for their unique characteristics like drape, bending, shearing and supple besides being light in weight. Now-a-days the application of textiles is expanding from conventional textile structures used for clothing to advanced technical applications like personal and device protection to smart/intelligent textiles sensitive to external stimuli. This investigation aims to develop textile based soft barriers to suppress or arrest the invisible electromagnetic pollution causing hazards to electronic devices or human beings. Life is at risk if a mobile phone in the close vicinity is switched on during a fleet of flight. Use of mobile phones during the entire fleet is prohibited as per Govt. regulations . Pacemaker may fail due to EM interferences causing fatalities. This investigation pertains to developing metal composite textiles for shielding electromagnetic interferences. Electrically conductive metallic filaments, metal coated yarns, metal composite textile yarns and metallic fillers were utilized to develop fabrics for EMI shielding. Single jersey (SJ) knitted fabrics were developed from silver coated copper wire in bare form as well as in core spun structure. Core spun yarn was produced by short staple ring spinning and knitted fabric in two different loop lengths was produced there from. Fabrics embroidered with square loop pattern demonstrates resonance in reflectance in different frequency levels suggesting the possibility of developing spatial filters or frequency selective surfaces, however further studies in the Giga Hertz frequencies need to be carried out. Fabrics screen printed with aluminium and ferrous metallic fillers using acrylic binder showed lower SE values in concentration lower than threshold of 50% o.w.f. Double jersey fabrics showed maximum EM shielding in metal powder concentrations of 42 46%, with ferrous printed showing 1 dB and aluminium printed showing the highest SE of 12 dB. newline newline newline
