Dissertação de Mestrado em Comunicação Social, na vertente de Comunicação Estratégica

Comprometendo-se a aferir os objetivos da campanha contrapropagandística, esta investigação intenta também apurar a estratégia e especificidades dos cartazes contrapropagandísticos, compreender como os inquiridos lisboetas os percecionam e identificar quais as características comuns do uso da contrapropaganda nos cartazes, visa responder à pergunta de partida Qual o contributo da contrapropaganda para os cartazes políticos nas eleições legislativas e presidenciais portuguesas de 2001 a 2016? A abordagem metodológica é qualitativa e quantitativa, compondo-se da pesquisa documental, da entrevista individual em profundidade, do focus group, do inquérito por questionário online, da análise de conteúdo e semiológica. Segundo os resultados, os principais objetivos da campanha contrapropagandística são prejudicar a mensagem do adversário, limitar a sua aceitação e identificar incoerências nas propostas rivais. O cartaz contrapropagandístico tende a recorrer a figuras políticas concorrentes como protagonistas, cores da bandeira portuguesa, o ângulo normal, e a regra “referência a medidas políticas dos adversários”. Os inquiridos avaliam a contrapropaganda como “importante”, o cartaz contrapropagandístico como sendo mais chamativo, e a regra mais eficaz a “colocação da propaganda do adversário em contradição com os factos”. Os inquiridos que votam sempre, ou quase sempre, e dizem estar informados e ter interesse na política, tendem a rejeitar o cartaz contrapropagandístico

Besides wanting to know the purposes of counterpropaganda, this investigation aims to study the strategy and specificities of counterpropagandatic posters, to understand how the respondents perceive them and to identify the common characteristics of the use of counterpropaganda in posters, in order to answer the question of departure What is the contribution of counterpropaganda to political posters in the Portuguese legislative and presidential elections from 2001 to 2016? The methodological approach is qualitative and quantitative, consisting of documentary research, individual in-depth interview, focus group, online questionnaire survey, content analysis and semiology. According to the results, the main objectives of the counterpropagandist campaign are to undermine the adversary's message, limit its acceptance and identify inconsistencies in rival proposals. The counterpropagandistic poster tends to appeal to political figures competing as protagonists, colors of the Portuguese flag, the normal angle, and the rule "reference to political measures of opponents." Respondents rate counterpropaganda as "important," the counterpropagandatic poster as being flashier, and the most effective rule is "placing adversarial propaganda in contradiction with the facts." Respondents who always vote, or almost always, and say they are informed and interested in politics, tend to reject the counterpropagandistic poster

▼ Ce travail de doctorat sur la communication politique dans l’Albanie postcommuniste vise à étudier la place, le rôle, les effets de l’industrie de l’image et de la communication politique basée sur l’image pendant les campagnes électorales au niveau national et local durant la période de la transition politique en Albanie. Au centre des analyses effectuées, nous avons établi des thèmes, importants et cruciaux comme le rôle, la fonction et la place des images dans le cadre de la communication politique et électorale, l’évolution et la transformation de ce rôle jusqu’au point où elle a réussi à se placer au centre des stratégies de persuasion et de propagande des partis politiques et des autres acteurs politiques du pays. L’image dans le contexte de cette thèse est considéré comme un ensemble significatif de formes, de couleurs, de mouvements, qui représentent des objets réels ou imaginaires, des signes spatiaux souvent associés à des bandes sonores et des textes, articulés sur des supports variés : affiches électorales, spots publicitaires électoraux et structuration des apparitions télévisées des acteurs politiques locaux, et la « scénographie –type » des évènements organisés dans le cadre des campagnes électorales. Toujours en fonction des besoins de cette étude, nous allons appeler cet aspect de la communication politique : « communication par l’image», et par ce terme que nous emprunterons tout au long de cette thèse, nous entendrons : Communication à travers les affiches électorales, la publicité électorale ainsi que la structuration scénographique de l’apparition des acteurs politiques locaux devant les médias en période de campagne électorale. L’utilisation de l’image dans la communication politique en Albanie représente une caractéristique locale importante. Il s’agit d’une tendance qui suit les dynamiques communicationnelles en Occident. Par un comportement de mimétisme, les acteurs politiques locaux ont trouvé intéressant, efficace et rentable d’appliquer en Albanie le modèle occidental de la communication politique sous tous ses aspects et surtout en ce qui concerne la logique interne des processus qui constituent la communication politique, les infrastructures qui rendent possible la communication politique, les principes des rapports des acteurs qui produisent la communication politique dans le triangle politique -médias - images, et jusqu’à l’introduction dans le pays des modèles de communication politique au travers des compagnies occidentales, surtout américaines, qui sont consultées par les principaux partis politiques localement situés ou qui restent derrière eux dans le processus de réalisation des stratégies politiques réalisées au cours des élections.Le processus de l’adoption des instruments, techniques et des modèles qui viennent de l’Occident a été réalisé dans le contexte albanais avec une rapidité surprenante pour s’achever en l’espace d’une seule décennie. ▼ El objeto del trabajo de investigación que aquí se presenta ha sido la localización, rescate, datación, catalogación y documentación del conjunto de carteles o afiches que se editaron en Chile durante el período comprendido entre el lanzamiento de la campaña electoral de Salvador Allende para las elecciones presidenciales de 1970, hasta el golpe de Estado protagonizado por el general Augusto Pinochet que le puso término, acabando así con el Gobierno de la Unidad Popular, y con la vida del Presidente elegido democráticamente, Salvador Allende, en el Palacio de La Moneda. Por lo tanto, el período estudiado comienza el día 1 de enero de 1970 y concluyó el 11 de septiembre de 1973. El conjunto de carteles que se ha querido rescatar son los vinculados a la actividad de la izquierda política, en su mayoría los editados durante la campaña electoral y el período del Gobierno Popular, pero también los surgidos en el seno de los movimientos de izquierda para promocionar y dar a conocer al gran público chileno eventos de interés político, social y cultural. Para conseguir ese objetivo, especialmente el dar con los carteles editados y rescatarlos del olvido, se ha llevado a cabo una ingente labor de búsqueda de estos impresos y de cuanto material gráfico o periodístico pudiera servir para identificar, datar y documentar los ejemplares localizados. Una de las mayores aportaciones de esta investigación ha sido haber creado una colección de carteles que se pueda consultar, mostrar, exponer y divulgar dentro y fuera del país, tanto en formato libro, artículos o exposiciones. El autor de esta investigación tuvo conocimiento de la existencia de los carteles de la Unidad Popular a través de una larga amistad con personas como Waldo González y Mario Quiroz, ambos diseñadores gráficos y cartelistas, que ya habían trabajado profesionalmente durante aquella época. La investigación ha querido estudiar también su obra de esa época. Ellos fueron quienes le indicaron la existencia de esta producción y pusieron de relieve su importancia histórica, despertándole el interés por saber más de ella. Después, a través de estos profesores, se puso en contacto con los hermanos Vicente y Antonio Larrea, ambos diseñadores gráficos, y con Luis Albornoz, también diseñador y tercer miembro de la «Oficina Larrea», uno de los despachos de diseño que creó buena cantidad de carteles durante el período estudiado. La posibilidad de entrevistar personalmente a tantos protagonistas del cartelismo chileno supuso una gran oportunidad para recabar datos de primera mano sobre la situación del diseño como profesión en aquel entonces, y del modo de trabajar habitual entre los diseñadores. También, permitió hacerse una idea muy vívida de la época a medida que le fueron relatando sus recuerdos. ▼ My research-creation dissertation investigates the question 'how are human rights enacted/performed? by examining solidarity activism in Guatemala and the hemispheric networks that enable it. The essay film al lado, afuera. // beside, outside. (2018, 21:12 min.), a synthesis of interviews with contemporary activists looks at human rights accompanimentthe process of situating oneself as an unarmed volunteer, assuming a physical presence alongside social activists who are victims of political threats, in order to dissuade violence, bear witness, and activate international solidarity networks. The performatic repertoire of accompaniment activism is explored upon the backdrop of the LAWG (Latin American Working Group)s collection of solidarity documents (1965-1997) and a large wall drawing that maps my research on networks of solidarity activism, thereby contextualizing this little-known embodied activist practice and exploring entanglements between the material archive and the ephemeral repertoire. Solidarity movement ephemera and a series of posters, created from graphic and textual elements of selected LAWG documents, highlight the material and historical foundation of todays accompaniment activism in Guatemala. By continuing to scan these documents in the gallery space as a durational performance throughout the exhibition, I highlight the labour performed in solidarity activism, and the change-of-state from paper materials to digital files, thereby mirroring of the trajectory from pre-Internet campaigns of letter-writing, information bulletins, flyers and posters, etcetera to todays digital forms of solidarity mobilization, and the various temporalities of solidarity. In transforming the collection from a material to a digital archive, I am creating an open source online repository of these crucial materials, as well as a gallery installation that highlights the aesthetics and materiality of pre-Internet solidarity activism, posing the question how does the materiality of solidarity evidenced in the LAWG collection work in tandem with embodied performances of solidarity activism?
