Green leafy vegetable consumption has been associated with decreased risk of persistent newlinemetabolic diseases The in vitro thrombolytic property of curry leaves Murraya koenigii and palak newlineSpinacia oleracea was determined by using human blood Aqueous extract of Murraya koenigii newlineexhibited maximum clot lysis at a concentration of 10mg per ml and Spinacia oleracea revealed newlinemaximum clot lysis at 20mg per ml The plant extracts when given in combination showed maximum newlineclot lysis at 20mg per ml The thrombolytic activity was correlated with serum cholesterol and the findings suggested that the plant extract could possibly lyse a clot regardless of the level of cholesterol Membrane stabilizing potential of the selected plants was analysed and both the plant extracts moderately protected the human RBC membrane Enzymatic nonenzymatic and total antioxidant potential was greater in Murraya koenigii than Spinacia oleracea Brine shrimp lethality assay was carried out to test the cytotoxicity of the plant extracts The results indicated that both the plants were nontoxic The results of FTIR spectrum and GCMS confirmed the presence of various newlinephytochemicals identified by the qualitative analysis of phytoconstituents of Murraya koenigii and newlineSpinacia oleracea To ensure the thrombolytic efficacy of Murraya koenigii and Spinacia oleracea newlinein vivo models of FeCl3 induced thrombosis was developed Haematological and biochemical newlineparameters were determined in experimental animals Histopathological examination was also carried newlineout after the experimental period In silico study was carried out with selected ligands such as newlinemahanimbine mahanine and murrayanol Alkaloids and docked with the target protein plasminogen newlineactivator inhibitor 1 PAI 1 The result of the docking analysis also support the thrombolysis This newlineinvestigation can help in developing cost effective novel thrombolytic agents from common plant newlinesources which are advantageous over synthetic drugs newline
