本研究的目的旨在探討戲劇教學法於提高學生高階思維能力的成效。基於戲劇教學法以學生為主導的特點,本研究假設此教學法能提升學生的高階思維能力。研究範疇主要集中在閱讀新詩的教學中,並以提升學生的高階思維能力(「分析、伸展」、「評鑑」、「創意」)為目標。為在新詩閱讀教學中提升學生的高階思維能力,本研究選用了四種不同的戲劇習式,分別為:「定鏡」(Still image)、「思緒追蹤」(Thought tracking)、「焦點人物」(Hot seating,又稱「提問角色」)及「集體朗誦」(Choral speak)。本研究以準實驗研究形式開展,以香港一所國際學校之七年級二語學生(共56人)為實驗研究目標,並運用前後測考卷以檢定學生的思維能力。 經過數據及考卷分析,本研究的結論為戲劇教學法能有效提高學生的部分高階思維能力。實驗組學生在接受了戲劇教學法後,其「評鑑」思維能力在統計學上顯著地較控制組高,表示其「評鑑」思維能力明顯在較佳。至於在「分析、伸展」及「創意」思維能力上,實驗組學生則沒有在統計學上顯著高於控制組,表示其「分析、伸展」及「創意」思維能力沒有明顯較佳。但本研究亦發現戲劇教學法能為二語學生建立一種代入性思維以作為他們學習的思維進路。
