1. Pai, Pritam. Accurate Statistics from Optical Transmission Matrix Measurements.

In this thesis, we develop a novel method for measuring the transmission matrix of a sample that allows the retrieval of accurate and faithful statistics of light transport in the sample. The procedure involves sampling the transmission matrix with focused spots on a dense hexagonal lattice, and then resampling it into an orthogonal basis of Bessel modes of the first kind. We use our method to investigate mesoscopic correlations in the transmission channels of a strongly scattering medium. Finally, we show a new application of finding scattering invariant modes that are transmitted through a disordered material as if it were transparent.
