Aralo jūros ekologinė krizė - vienas ryškiausių pavyzdžių, kai neapgalvotas žmogaus kišimasis į gamtą sukėlė milžiniškų nuostolių ne tik gamtinėje, bet ir socialinėje, ekonominėje sferose. Tačiau, Aralo jūros situacija yra ne vienetinė, tokių akvatorijų bei ekologinių krizių yra kitur, deja ir Lietuvoje. Darbo tikslas – įvertinti Aralo jūros ir panašaus likimo akvatorijų ekologinę situaciją, ją sukėlusias priežastis bei keliamas problemas. Siekiant šio tikslo buvo iškelti šie uždaviniai:  Išanalizuoti Aralo jūros pokyčius istorijos eigoje;  Išaiškinti pagrindinius ekologinių tragedijų kaltininkus;  Įvertinti ekologinių krizių pasekmes;  Išnagrinėti ir pateikti tragedijų sprendimo būdus;  Nustatyti kiek skiriama dėmesio gamtosaugos tematikai populiariausiuose mokyklinės geografijos vadovėliuose;  Anketavimo būdu sužinoti VPU Gamtos mokslų fakulteto studentų požiūrį į dabartinę gamtosaugos situaciją. Darbas remiasi gausaus, įvairių kalbų (anglų, rusų, prancūzų, lietuvių), literatūros sąrašo, kur buvo išnagrinėta ne tik Aralo jūros, bet ir panašaus likimo akvatorijų problemos, pasekmės, sprendimo būdai. Rengiant darbą literatūra buvo renkama VPU ir Nacionalinėje Mažvydo bibliotekose bei parsisiustos elektroninės knygų versijos, straipsniai, periodiniai leidiniai, ataskaitos, planai, konferencijų pristatymai bei teisės aktai iš Rusijos, Kazachijos, Prancūzijos, JAV, Čado ir Lietuvos internetinių tinklapių. The Aral Sea environmental crisis is one of the most prominent examples, when thoughtless human intervention in nature has caused huge damage not only in nature, but also social and economic fields. However, the Aral Sea situation is unitary; such water areas and ecological crisis appeared elsewhere, unfortunately in Lithuania too. The goal of thesis: to evaluate ecological situation of the Aral Sea and similar fate water areas, reasons that caused it, and raised problems. In order to achieve this goal, these tasks were raised and implemented:  Analyze changes of the Aral Sea in history process;  Find out the main perpetrators that caused ecological tragedies;  Evaluate outcomes of ecological crisis;  Explore and provide solutions for tragedies;  Identify the extent of ecological topics given in the most popular geography school books;  Find out students’ of VPU Science Department attitude towards the current ecological situation by using questionnaire method. Darbe aprašyta turizmo paslaugų raida Kaune. Pasaulinių turizmo paslaugų kontekste Kaunui sunkoka konkuruoti su kitais miestais, turinčiais turtingų turizmo išteklių bei išplėtota turizmo infrastruktūrą. Turizmui Kaune yra palankios sąlygos: turizmo išteklių gausa, patogi geografinė padėtis, geras susisiekimas bei saviti kultūriniai ištekliai. Tačiau Kaune turizmo paslaugų lygis dar nepakankamai aukštas. Darbe aptartos stiprios ir silpnos Kauno turizmo paslaugų pusės. Išanalizavus turizmo valdymo sistemą ir atlikus SSGG analizę, respondentų apklausą paaiškėjo prioritetinės turizmo rūšys: • Kultūrinis ir pažintinis turizmas, • Verslo ir dalykinis turizmas, • Poilsio ir vandens turizmas. Turizmo valdymo struktūra suformuota, tačiau turizmas veikiamas ne tik tiesiogiai turizmą reguliuojančių įstatymų, bet ir kitos įvairių rūšių įstatyminės bazės bei tarptautinės teisės. Todėl turizmo plėtotei dažnai trūksta suderinamumo tarp Valstybinio turizmo departamento ir kitų ministerijų bei departamentų priimamų teisės aktų. Kaune yra turizmo paslaugų plėtros koordinavimo poreikis. Siekiant išlaikyti bei tobulinti turizmo paslaugų kokybę ir bei konkurencinę poziciją rinkoje, būtina racionaliai planuoti ir rengti strategijas (miesto ir atskirų seniūnijų, kaip turistinių regionų, atžvilgiu) kartu su privataus ir valstybinio sektoriaus įmonėmis, įtraukiant tiek visuomenines grupes, tiek ir vietos bendruomenę. In context of worlds tourism service Kaunas city fiddly compete with other cities, which having rich tourism resource and developed tourism infrastructure. For tourism in Kaunas favourable terms: a lot of tourism resource, comfortable geographic location, good accommodation and unique cultural resource. Tourism service level in Kaunas city yet unsatisfactory high. The work shows both sides – weak and strong – of tourism service in Kaunas city. Atkūrus nepriklausomybę, Lietuvos valstybė ėmėsi tautinio atgimimo metais pradėtos švietimo reformos. Valstybingumo atkūrimas atvėrė naujas, tautos siekius atitinkančias, Lietuvos socialinės, kultūrinės, ekonominės bei politinės raidos perspektyvas. Mokyklų tinklo pertvarka, atitinkanti šiuolaikinės visuomenės mokymosi poreikius bei paklausą ir realias finansines savivaldybės galimybes, turi pagerinti mokymosi kokybę, padidinti prieinamumą ir socialinį teisingumą, padaryti švietimo sistemą efektyvesnę ir darnesnę. Taigi vienas iš švietimo sistemos atsinaujinimo kriterijų Vilniaus krašte ir yra bendrojo lavinimo mokyklų tinklo pertvarka. Tačiau labai svarbu kruopščiai ištirti dabartinę situaciją, įvertinti egzistuojančias tendencijas ir perspektyvas. Vilniaus mieste ir rajone sovietmečiu itin populiarių mišrių mokyklų beveik neliko – jos buvo išskirstytos arba reorganizuotos į vienakalbes, daugiausia lenkiškas ir lietuviškas. Labai sumažėjo rusiškų mokyklų – jas dabar lanko tik rusų bei baltarusių tautybės gyventojai. Tenkinant ne tik vietos lietuvių, bet ir tautinių mažumų poreikius mokyti vaikus valstybine lietuvių kalba, itin smarkiai išaugo lietuviškų mokyklų skaičius. Dabar lietuviškas mokyklas moksleiviai lanko kelis kartus daugiau, nei yra lietuvių tautybės gyventojų, nes dažnai nelietuviai tėvai linkę leisti vaikus į lietuviškas mokyklas. Tikėtina, kad lietuvėjimo tendencijos išliks ir ateityje.

After restoration of independence the state of Lithuania took up educational reform, which had been started in the years of national revival. Reinstatement of statehood opened new, according national aims, perspectives of social, cultural, economical and political germination. Reorganization of the school’s chain, conforming learning needs and demand of modern society, also real financial abilities of municipality, has to improve the quality of learning, increase the accessibility and social justice, make the educational system more effective and accordant. So one of criteria of the educational system’s renewal in Vilnius district is the reorganization of the secondary school’s chain. But it is very important to research thoroughly the present situation, evaluate existing trends and perspectives. In Vilnius and it’s region mixed schools, which were especially popular at soviet times, are not almost left – they were separated or restored into monolingual, mostly Polish and Lithuanian. The number of Russian schools has decreased significantly – at present only Russians and Byelorussians attend them. Stratifying needs of not only local Lithuanians but also national minorities to teach children in state Lithuanian language, especially severely increased the number of Lithuanian schools. Geografija integruoja gamtinius, visuomeninius ir techninius erdvės pažinimo elementus. Tai reiškia, kad geografija turi aukštą informatyvumo lygį, kuris svarbus ir asmenybės ugdyme. Geografijos mokymasis sutelkia savyje daugybę informacijos formų ir šaltinių, kurių pagrindu formuojasi geografinio išsilavinimo turinys. Atsižvelgiant į tai, būtina formuoti mokinių gebėjimą ieškoti, analizuoti, įsisavinti, apdoroti, sintetinti ir panaudoti naujai gautą informaciją, kartu ugdant asmenybę ir jos kompetencijas. Toks ugdymas įmanomas ne tik bendrojo ugdymo geografijos pamokose, bet ir nepamokinio papildomo geografijos ugdymo metu. Įgyvendinus darbui iškeltą tikslą - ištirti ir įvertinti geografijos neformaliojo ugdymo pasiūlą ir paklausą Vilniaus mieste ir sukauptų duomenų pagrindu sukurti geografijos neformaliojo ugdymo sistemos mieste modelį – paaiškėjo, kad iki šios Lietuvoje nėra visuotinai pripažinto vieningo neformaliojo vaikų švietimo apibrėžimo, be to neįvardyta neformaliojo vaikų švietimo reikšmė, neformalusis ugdymas laikomas formalųjį ugdymą papildančia švietimo dalimi. Tyrimų rezultatai parodė, kad Iš 197 Vilniaus mieste įsteigtų švietimo įstaigų, 107 įstaigos vykdo neformalųjį ugdymą, iš jų 32 įstaigos vykdo geografijos neformalųjį ugdymą. Geography integrates natural, public and technical elements of spatial cognition. It means that geography has a high informative level which is important for personality development. Learning geography contains a lot of forms and resources of information what the content of geography education is based on. Taking it into consideration, it is necessary to develop students‘ ability to search, analyze, realize, process and use new information as well as to build up personal skills. Such education is possible not only in general education geography lessons but also during afterschool extracurricular activities. Having achieved the aim of the paper: to analyze and evaluate demand and supply of informal geography education in Vilnius educational institutions and to create a model of the informal education in the city based on collected data revealed that Lithuania has so far not a single commonly accepted definition of informal education for children as well as the value of informal children education is not stated, informal education is seen as complementary to formal education. Results of the research revealed that 107 from 197 Vilnius education institutions implement informal education, 32 – informal geography education. Baltijos jūros pakrantėje gyvenantys baltai jau nuo I a. palaikė mainų ir prekybos ryšius su kitais kraštais. Krašto geografinė padėtis skatino laivybos plėtotę, todėl jau XII-XIII a. Baltijos jūroje suklestėjo jūrininkystė. Jūrų transportas apima keleivių ir krovinių vežimą. Lietuvoje jūrų transportu pervežama daugiau kaip 30% krovinių. Šis transportas reikalauja didžiausių krovos ir mažiausių gabenimo išlaidų. Klaipėdos uostas tarp rytinės Baltijos jūros uostų yra 3 vietoje (pagal 2008 m. krovą). Lietuvos mokyklose per mažai nagrinėjami uostai bei problemos, su kuriomis jie susiduria. Uostų svarba šalies ekonomikai yra labai didelė, tačiau atlikus tyrimą mokykloje buvo padarytos išvados, jog mokiniai neturi bendro suvokimo apie šiuos ekonomiškai svarbius punktus. Lietuvos visuomenė per daug atitrūkus nuo jūros, o galbūt niekada ir nebuvo tokia artima jūrai kaip mūsų kaimyninės šalys. Todėl šis darbas buvo skirtas atlikti Rytų Baltijos jūros uostų analizei (pagal krovą ir keleivių srautus) bei pabandyti ją pritaikyti edukologijoje. Atlikus tyrimą paaiškėjo, jog mokiniai labai mažai žino apie kaimyninių šalių uostus, taip pat negali pasakyti kuo Klaipėda išsiskiria iš kitų Baltijos jūros uostų. Teoriškai šį darbą galima suskirstyti į dvi stambias dalis. Darbo tema pirmoje dalyje analizuojama iš gamtinės - ekonominės pusės, o antra dalis – iš edukologinės. The Baltic tribes inhabiting the shores of the Baltic Sea had trade and business relations with other countries since the first century. The countries geographical position encouraged the navigation development that is why the prosperity of the Baltic seamanship was inevitable in XII-XIII centuries. The sea transportation involves both people and cargo transportation. In Lithuania more than 30% of cargo is transported by sea. This means of transportation requires the biggest amount of loading capability but the cheapest expenses. Klaipeda seaport is in the third place according 2008 loading among Baltic Seaports. In Lithuania’s schools there is too little attention to studies of the seaports’ problems. The importance of the seaports to country’s economy is high, though after the research at schools the conclusion was drawn that pupils are not aware of these important economical issues. The Lithuanian society has little knowledge about the sea, or they have never been so close to the sea as people in other neighboring countries. The purpose of this work is to analyze the Eastern Baltic seaports according loading capability and the number of travelers, and also try to apply the work in education. Geografijos dalyko mokyklinė programa turėtų visapusiškai supažindinti mokinius su visais reiškiniais, vykstančiais aplink mus šiame Pasaulyje. Tačiau iš tikrųjų yra kitaip: daugybė dalykų yra pateikiama abstrakčiai bei nagrinėjama paviršutiniškai, todėl mokiniai nesukuria tinkamos pasaulėvokos ir nesupranta daugelio dalykų. Taip, pavyzdžiui, yra su dykumų geografinių zonų kompleksu ir dykumėjimo problema. Remiantis šia problematika magistrinio darbo tikslas buvo atlikti dykumų geografinių zonų kompleksinę analizę, išryškinant dykumėjimo procesą, ir nustatyti jos turinio taikymą bei pritaikomumą geografijos mokyme. Remiantis geografinio zoniškumo dėsningumu ir M. P. Petrovo dykumų klasifikacija, dykumų geografines zonas sudaro: aridinės dykumos (sauso ir karšto klimato), kurios paplitusios subtropinėse, tropinėse ir vidutinių platumų klimato juostose, poliarinės dykumos (sauso ir šalto klimato), kurias sudaro Arktinės ir Antarktinės dykumos, bei nivalinės dykumos, kurios yra poliarinių dykumų analogas kalnuose, paplitusios kalnų viršūnėse virš sniego ribos. Dykumų susidarymą ir paplitimą įtakoja atmosferos cirkuliacija, vandenynų srovės, reljefas ir vietovės geografinė padėtis. Nuo to priklauso ir dykuminių zonų gamtinės sąlygos, dykumų apgyvendinimo ypatumai bei gyventojų, gyvenančių šiose srityse, socialiniai – ekonominiai bruožai. Geography subject in the school program should comprehensively familiarize pupils with all the events taking place around us in this World. However, the fact is otherwise: many things are listing in the abstract and are analyzing superficially, so pupils do not create adequate world-view and do not understand many things. For example: this fact is with the geographical areas of deserts and its complex desertification problem. According to this, the task of the master work was to make complex analysis of the deserts geographical areas with highlighting the process of desertification, determining the content of the application and its applicability in geography education. Ilgalaikis teminis planas – tai mokytojo detalizuotos dalyko ugdymo tikslų, turinio, proceso strateginės gairės visiems mokslo metams. Tačiau šiandien yra didelė ilgalaikių planų struktūrinė įvairovė, todėl labai sunku išsirinkti tinkamą dalyko teminio plano formą. Kadangi geografijos dalykas yra labai integralus, susijęs su kitais dalykais, o Bendrosios programos kelia sudėtingus ugdymo tikslus, todėl parengti optimalų teminį planą yra svarbus ir sudėtingas mokytojo uždavinys. Tyrimo tikslas – ištirti Bendrųjų programų realizacijos procesą sąsajoje su geografijos dalyko teminių planų rengimu, išryškinti jų struktūrinę įvairovę ir parengti teminio plano veiklinį modelį. Tyrimo metu išanalizavus geografijos ir kitų dalykų (lietuvių kalbos, matematikos, istorijos, biologijos, dailės) teminių planų struktūrų pavyzdžius, pastebėta, kad geografijos mokytojai pasirenka panašias teminio plano struktūras, tik individualiai kiekvienas mokytojas dar įtraukia papildomas struktūrines dalis arba atvirkščiai, mėgina supaprastinti teminį planavimą, atsisakant kai kurių nepildomų struktūrinių dalių. Taip pat pastebėta, kad tokios struktūrinės dalys – skyrius/tema, valandų skaičius, ugdomi gebėjimai, pastabos yra svarbiausios ir įtraukiamos į kiekvieno mokytojo teminį planavimą, o kitos - kaip integracija, mokymo priemonės - ne visuomet įtraukiamos, tai daugiau priklauso nuo mokyklos metodinės tarybos susitarimo arba nuo pačio mokytojo pasirinkimo. The long-term topic based plan - the subject of teacher education objectives, content, the process of the strategic guidelines for all school year. Today there is a major structural diversity for the long-term plans, so it is very difficult to choose an appropriate plan for the form of topic based subject. As geography is a very integral and in relation to other things, and the Curriculum raises difficult educational goals, so to develop an optimal plan is an important and complex task for teacher. Research aim - to explore the realization process of the Curriculum in connection with the preparation of topic based plans of geography subject, to highlight their structural diversity and to prepare a topic based plan for active model. During the investigation there were analyzed the geography and other subjects (Lithuanian language, mathematics, history, biology, arts) structures of topic based plan examples, and was noted, that geography teachers choose similar topic based plan structures, just each teacher individually include the additional structural part or vice versa, try to simplify the planning of theme, by excluding certain structural parts. Įvertinamas turizmo išteklių objektų pritaikymas mokant geografijos bei pateikiami mokomieji-pažintiniai ekskursiniai maršrutai po Plungės rajoną. Tyrimui naudojamas anketinės apklausos metodas. Tyrimo tikslas - ištirti ir išanalizuoti Plungės rajono turizmo išteklius, atspindint Plungės rajono ir visos Lietuvos gyventojų požiūrį. Apklausa atlikta 2010-2011 metais, dalyvavo 208 respondentai: 102 Plungės rajono gyventojai ir 106 – iš įvairių Lietuvos vietovių. Surinktos informacijos ir anketavimo duomenų pagrindu suformuluojamos baigiamojo darbo išvados.

The aim of work – analyze and summarize the Plunge district of tourism resources, their location and adaptation of school geographic education. The theoretical part contains an analysis of scientific literature of tourism resources on the Plunge district, their distribution, status and adaptation of attendance. Evaluating the adaptation of tourism resources facilities teaching geography and presented the educational – cognitive routes in Plungė District. Investigation used the questionnaire method. The aim of investigation – investigate and analyze the tourism resources of Plungė district, reflecting the Plungė district and all residents of Lithuania approach. The survey conducted in 2010-2011, 208 respondents participated in: Plunge district 102 and 106 - in various places of Lithuania. On the base of collected information and questionnaire data formulated conclusions.

Tikslas. Išsiaiškinti vieno garsiausių Lietuvos praeities kultūros ir mokslo veikėjų Jurgio Ambraziejaus Pabrėžos indėlį į geografijos terminiją. Pabrėžos Geografijoje rasti 194 geografiniai arba su geografija susiję terminai, kurių didžioji dalis yra vienažodžiai. Sudarytas alfabetinis terminų žodynėlis. Visi terminai pagal reikšmės sferą suskirstyti į sekančias grupes:1) bendrieji geografiniai terminai; 2) gamtinės (fizinės) geografijos terminai; 3) visuomeninės geografijos terminai. Tam, kad išsiaiškinti žemaitiškų geografinių terminų etimologiją, terminai išanalizuoti pagal jų šaltinius: 1) paimti iš gyvosios kalbos; 2) pasidaryti savo kalbos žodžių darybos priemonėmis; 3) pasiskolinti iš kitų kalbų. Iš Pabrėžos vartotų terminų dabar išlikę tik tie, kurie ir anuomet buvo paimti iš gyvosios kalbos, susiję su geografine aplinka, klimatu, reiškiantys negyvosios gamtos kūnus ir reiškinius. Tik vienas kitas Pabrėžos sukurtas terminas (ógnakalnis, plg. ugnikalnis) prilygo J. Jablonskio naujadarams, kurie dabar yra geografijos terminai. Pabrėžos geografijos vadovėlis (parašytas po 1831 m.), laikytinas pirmuoju lietuvišku geografijos vadovėliu, liko nespausdintas, tad mažai kam buvo prieinamas paskaityti. Juo pradėtas lietuviškos geografijos terminijos kūrimo darbas nebuvo perimtas vėlesnių autorių. Objective. To explore the contribution of Jurgis Ambraziejus Pabrėža, one of the most outstanding figures in culture and science of Lithuania in the terminology of geography. “The Geography” textbook by Pabrėža contains 194 geographical terms and terms related to geography. The majority of the terms offered by Pabrėža are single word terms. The final work is provided with an alphabetic glossary of geographic terms (annex no. 1-2). All terms according to their semantic field are classified into the following groups: 1) general geographic terms; 1) terms of the natural (physical) geography; 3 ) public geography terms. In order to trace back the etymology of Samogitian geographic terms, they were analyzed according to their sources: 1) derived from the live language, 2) constructed by using word-building means; 3) borrowed from other languages. Only those terms used by Pabrėža have actually survived until modern times that even in those remote years were derived from live language, related to geographic environment, and meaning natural bodies and phenomena of the inanimate nature. However, only very few terms coined by Pabrėža (e.g., ognikalnis, cf. ugnikalnis) equaled the neologisms introduced by Jonas Jablonskis that are currently used as effective geographic terms. Euroregionai Europoje egzistuoja jau nuo šeštojo XX a. dešimtmečio. Tačiau universalios euroregiono sampratos dar nėra. Pateikiamuose euroregiono apibrėžimuose aiškiai pabrėžiama, kad tai struktūros, turinčios teritorinį apibrėžtumą. Svarbus aspektas – euroregioną sudarančių narių lygybė bei teisinis pamatas, reglamentuojantis veiklą. Euroregionų skirtingumui įtakos turi įkūrimo tikslų bei uždavinių įvairumas, veiklos prioritetų nevienodumas. Magistro darbe siekiama supažindinti su euroregionų veikla bei vystymuisi nuo 2000 iki 2008 metų. Pagrindinis tyrimo aspektas – makroekonominių rodiklių kaitos dinamika ir išsivystymo skirtumai skirtingose teritorijose esančiuose euroregionuose. Analizuojam bendrosios pridėtinės vertės (BPV), bendrojo vidaus produkto (BVP), materialinių investicijų, tiesioginių užsienio investicijų, ir eksporto rodikliai euroregionuose. Tyrimu siekiama statistiškai pagrįsti objekto (šiuo atveju euroregiono) esminius požymius, jo funkcionavimo veiksnius. Euroregionas pateikiamas kaip vientisa sudėtinga sistema turinti begalę trūkumų, kurių pagrindinis – daugiamatiškumas. Darbe siekiama kuo labiau atsiriboti nuo istorinio ir socialinio konteksto ir rezultatus pateikti tik ekonominiame kontekste. Magistro darbas parašytas naudojantis aprašomaisiais, statistinių ir kitų šaltinių analizės bei grafiniu metodais.

Euregions in Europe there is already the sixth of the twentieth century decade. However, the universal concept of the Euroregion yet. Lietuvos valstybėje vienas iš svarbiausių ir reikšmingiausių kultūriniu rekreaciniu palikumu yra Trakų rajonas. Šis kraštas išsiskiria iš visos valstybės tuo, kad jame yra saugoma kopmpleksinės apsaugos objektai – ir gamtiniai ir kultūriniai. Tai nulėmė šio krašto gili istorinė praeitis ir dėkinga geografinė padėtis. Šio darbo svarbumas yra tame, kad nagrinėjamas kultūrinis rekreacinis potencialas yra visame Trakų rajone ir analizuojama per dvi sritis - saugomas teritorijas ir administracines rajono ribas. Taip pat labai svarbu tai, kad darbas yra pritakytas edukaciniam panaudojimui. Rajono istorinei ir teritorinei raidai didžiausios įtakos turėjo geografinė padėtis ir istoriniai vingiai, nulėmę visos Lietuvos ir įpatingai pietrytinės dalies užgrobimus, okupaciją ir padalijimus. Didžiausias indėlis į rekreacijos plėtrą yra padarytas 1991 metais įsteigtus Trakų istorinį nacionalinį parką. Čia saugomi įpatingos reikšmės ir svarbos Lietuvos is¬toriniam valstybingumui kultūriniai ir gamtiniai kompleksiniai objektai. Taip pat daug padaryta 1992 metais įsteigtus Aukštadvario ir Neries regioninius parkus. Čia saugomos kultūros paveldo vertybės, gamtinė aplinka ir apylinkių kraš¬tovaizdis. Trakai district is one of the most important ones in Lithuania from the point of view of its recreational and cultural heritage. This land is exceptional because it comprises the objects of complex protection – both natural and cultural. This was influenced by rich historical background of the land and its beneficial geographical position. What makes this final paper significant is that the analyzed cultural recreational potential covers the whole Trakai district and is investigated through two areas – the protected territories and the administrative borders of the district. It is also important that the paper is adapted for educational purposes. The geographical position and historic evolution (that determined the occupation and division of the whole Lithuania, especially its south-eastern part) had the biggest influence on historic and territorial development of the district. The biggest contribution to the development of recreation was made in 1991 when Trakai Historical National Park was established. It protects cultural and natural objects that are of special importance for Lithuanian historical statehood. Magistriniame darbe atlikta išsami Alytaus miesto komunalinių atliekų tvarkymo situacijos, raidos ir tendencijų analizė bei palyginta su regionine atliekų tvarkymo sistema. Formaliai vertinant, atliekos – tai visa, kas nepanaudota ar netinkama, tad visus dujinius, skystuosius ir kietuosius aplinkos teršalus, susidarančius žmogaus ūkinėje veikloje ar buityje, galima vadinti atliekomis. Pirmajame skyriuje aptariami svarbiausi atliekų susidarymo, tvarkymo bruožai ir įstatyminė bazė. Atliekų mažinimas ir prevencija yra vienas iš svarbiausių atliekų tvarkymo sistemos tikslų. Kaip pagrindinė priemonė siekti atliekų kiekio mažinimo yra atskiroms savivaldybėms susivienijus sukurti regioninę atliekų tvarkymo sistemą, kuri aptariama antrame skyriuje. Trečiame skyriuje pateikiama Vilniaus ir Alytaus moksleivių, Alytaus gyventojų bei Alytaus regiono savivaldybių ekspertų apklausos analizė atliekų tvarkymo kontekste. Atlikus tyrimą nustatyta, kad norint vykdyti efektyvesnį atliekų tvarkymo valdymą, reikia savivaldybių funkcijas perduoti regioniniam atliekų tvarkymo centrui, o sprendžiant atliekų tvarkymo srautų bei rūšiavimo problematiką pasitelkti gyventojus ir daugiau šviesti visuomenę. Alytaus savivaldybės apsisprendimą dalyvauti bendrame „Alytaus regiono atliekų tvarkymo sistemos sukūrimas“ projekte paskatino lėšų trūkumas, naujų funkcijų atsiradimas, problemos norint įgyvendinti Europos Sąjungos reikalavimus. Domestic waste management situation development and tendencies analyses in Alytus municipality and region. To rate formal, waste – it’s all, what is not specious, that all gassy, liquid and hard environmental pollutant, which consist in individual household, we may call waste. In the first section discussed the manes consist of waste, the way of regulation and the bases of legislation. Reduction of waste and prevention is one of the mane point of waste regulation. Like a leading means to achieve waste reduction is to create a regional waste management system, which talked-about in the second section. In the third section were presenting Vilnius and Alytus school children and dwellers, the municipality’s expert opinion poll in the waste management context of Alytus region. It was made an analysis, that if you want implement more effective in the waste management, it’s need the functions of Alytus municipality transfer to the region waste management centre. Asmenybių biografijų tyrinėjimas labai ilgas ir sudėtingas procesas, tačiau įdomus. Mano darbo tikslas buvo išanalizuoti, aprašyti ir susisteminti mokyklinę geografiją kūrusių asmenybių biografijas bei jų atliktus darbus. Tyrimo metu buvo apžvelgti Lietuvos mokyklos raidos bendriausi bruožai, kuriuos galima suskirstyti į 8 laikotarpius. Aprašytos mokyklinės geografijos asmenybių biografijos. Savo darbe, remdamasi empiriniu biografiniu tyrimo metodu, aprašiau 33 – jų asmenybių, formavusių Lietuvos mokyklinės geografijos ugdymo turinį, biografijas. Taip pat išskirti esminiai asmenybių biografijos bruožai ir susisteminta mokyklinės geografijos bibliografija. Rengiant darbą naudoti: biografinis, istorinis, bibliografinis, profesiogramų metodai, kurie leido įvairiapusiškai ištyrinėti asmenybių nueitą kelią ir nuveiktus darbus. Mano darbo naujumas tas, kad pirmą kartą apibendrintai atliktas mokyklinę geografiją kūrusių asmenybių tyrimas; parengta originali tyrimo metodika; sudarytos asmenybių profesiogramos. O praktinis reikšmingumas yra tai, kad tyrimų medžiaga jau panaudota žymiausių „Lietuvos geografų“ žinynui, kuris pasirodė 2007 metais (o šio žinyno prezentacija įvyko 2008 metais vasario 7dieną); darbo rezultatai tinkami panaudoti geografijos studijų metu; dalis mokyklinės geografijos asmenybių ir jų atliktų darbų tinkami panaudoti mokyklinės geografijos kurse.

The research on the biographies of personalities is a long and complex process, however interesting. The purpose of this study was to describe, analyze and systematize personalities who created school geography and review the works they performed. While researching, the general features of Lithuanian school development, which can be divided into eight terms, were reviewed. In this work basing on the empirical biographical research method thirty three biographies of personalities who formed Lithuanian school geography content were described. The essential features of personalities biographies were singled out and bibliography of school geography was systematized. While arranging the study, biographic, historical, bibliographic, professiograms methods were used. These methods let explore the way personalities passed and the jobs created in various aspects. The novelty of this work is that the first time the research on personalities who created school geography has been performed in a broad – brush way; original research methodology was used and the professiograms of personalities were drawn up. This study is practically meaningful because the material of this research was used for the directory of the most famous Lithuanian geographers which was issued in 2007. And the presentation of this directory occurred in 2008. The results of this work are suitable to be used during geography studies, and a part of this material is also suitable to be used in school geography course.

Darbo tikslas - apibūdinti Joniškio rajono gamtines ir kultūrines sąlygas, išanalizuoti jų rekreacinį potencialą, panaudojimą ir plėtros perspektyvas. Šiam tikslui pasiekti buvo suformuluoti tokie uždaviniai: - surinkti ir išanalizuoti duomenis apie rajono istorinį-kultūrinį paveldą. - surinkti ir išanalizuoti duomenis apie rajono gamtines sąlygas. - surinkti ir išanalizuoti duomenis apie rajono turizmo būklę, jo plėtrą ir perspektyvas. - sudaryti pažintinį maršrutą siekiant atskleisti svarbiausius gamtinius ir kultūrinius objektus. - atlikti tyrimą, kad išsiaiškinti, kiek rajono gyventojai žino apie savo kraštą, kokia jų nuomonė apie rajono turizmo būklę ir perspektyvas. Tyrimo metu buvo apklausiami rajono gyventojai bei mokiniai rajono mokyklose. Tyrimo metu gauti duomenys padėjo įvertinti ir išanalizuoti rajono turizmo būklę, išsiaiškinti kokios informacijos trūksta gyventojams ir kokios yra ateityje rajono rekreacinio potencialo plėtros perspektyvos. Joniškio rajono identitetą nulemia du pagrindiniai veiksniai – tai gamtiniai ištekliai ir specifinė istorinė ir geografinė padėtis. Turizmui vystyti palanki Joniškio rajono gamta, kuriai būdingas neužterštas oras, mažų nesukultūrintų upelių vingiai, nemažai dirbtinių tvenkinių, prie kurių kasmet poilsiauja daug žmonių. The aim of this paper is to describe natural and cultural condition of Joniskis district and to analyze its recreative potential, use and future development. To reach this aim it was formulated goals as follow: - To collect and analyze data about historical-cultural heritage of the district. - To collect and analyze data about natural condition of the district. - To collect and analyze data about touring state of the district and its development and perspective. - To make the cognitive course in order to unclose the most important natural and cultural objects. - To do the survey in order to find out how much people of Joniskis district know about their countryside and what their believes about touring state and perspective of the district are. The data of the survey helped to measure and analyze the touring state of the district, and find out what kind of information people lack and what future development of recreative potential of the district is. Lietuvos geografijos mokslui Lietuvoje beveik 250metų, tačiau ant tvirtų mokslinių - metodologinių pagrindų jis atsistojo tik XX a. pradžioje. Atsiradus pirminėms geografijos mokslo pradmenims (XVI a.), iš pradžių žinios apie ją buvo paviršutiniškos, perteikiamos per kitas disciplinas – filosofiją, istoriją, fiziką, taikomąją matematiką ir kitas disciplinas. Geografija kaip atskira mokslo disciplina vis labiau tobulėjo – iš pradžių geografija buvo suprantama teoriškai, o vėliau vis svarbesnę reikšmę įgavo praktinė veikla. Iki XX a. geografinius tyrimus vykdė ne geografai, bet integruotų mokslo sričių specialistai, nes tuomet dar nebuvo dabartinės mokslo diferenciacijos. XX a. II pusėje jau ryškiai susiformavo atskiros geografijos mokslo šakų kryptys. XX a. II pusė geografijos moksle vadinama atgimimo laikotarpiu – atkurtos aukštosios mokyklos, įkurtas mokslų akademijos Geologijos ir geografijos institutas, VVU GMF 2 geografijos katedros, ir VPI geografijos katedra – tai yra pagrindiniai Lietuvos geografijos mokslo gimimo židiniai. Susiformavus geografijos mokslo kryptims ir mokslo vystymo įstaigoms, atsirado poreikis ruošti geografijos specialistus kurie, atliktų mokslinį ir pedagoginį darbus. Universitetai pradėjo ruošti profesionalius specialistus pedagoginiam ir moksliniam darbui. The stages of science history may be distinguished with regard either to development conditions or its content. There may be no chronological limits between these stages. In the present article the stages are distinguished taking into consideration the phases of state history which determined specific conditions for the development of science: • The Soviet years; • The present stage (beginning with 1990). An analysis of the content of these stages is the task of further studies of the history of geography. Two trends were established in school geography in the Soviet period: natural and social-economic was geography. Natural aspects of geography were the least ideological and equaled the standard in democratic countries in the academic sense. It is necessary to remember that students who studied geography in Lithuania enriched their knowledge only from text books in Russian. Now, when we can compare Soviet and western textbooks, we see that the Russians had wrong notions about some aspects. Moreover, it was much more ideological. The world was clearly divided into two parts: the socialist world and the capitalistic one. The elevation of achievements of the socialist system encouraged pseudo-patriotism and hostility to the rest of the world. General program is a project-based document, demanding creativity and interpretational attitude – the teacher himself plans the process of education, in accordance with the program and educational standards. Expedient selection of tasks is relevant in geography classes, it is needed also to find the alternative towards a student, who finds geography too difficult, not interesting and who keeps asking himself why he needs it. When active methods of teaching take place, students’ attitude becomes more favorable – they get interested in new facts and methods that ease the apprehension and adoption of knowledge. Gražutės regioninis parkas įkurtas siekiant išsaugoti ežeringą ir miškingą Šventosios upės auštupio kraštovaizdį, jo gamtos ir kultūros paveldo vertybes. Gamtos vertybes sudaro 15 draustinių ir gausūs pavieniai objektai: 15 gemorfaloginių, 12 hidrologinių-hidrografinių ir 85 botaniniai-zoologiniai. Kultūros paveldo vertybes sudaro 42 archeologiniai, 21 architektūros, 59 memorialiniai, 26 dailės ir 5 etnografiniai objektai (viso157).Taigi, Gražutės regioniniame parke saugomas gausus paveldas, kuris būdingas visam Rytų Lietuvos regionui.

The park was established on purpose to protect laky and sylvan landscape of the Upper Sventoji and the nugget of its natural and cultural legacy. Protected nature objects combine 15 reservations and numerous unique monuments including 15 geomorphologic, 12 hydrological-hydrographical and 85 botanical-zoological objects. Cultural monument under protection include 42 archeological, 21 architectural, 59 memorial, 26 art and 5 ethnographical objects (total :157).The data leads to the conclusion that the Grazutes national park protects the abundance of nature and cultural inheritance which is typical to all the region of East Lithuania.

1990 m. kovo 11 d. atkūrus Lietuvos nepriklausomybę ir po to prasidėję bei dabar vykstantys demokratiniai procesai politinės, ekonominės ir socialinės veiklos sferose, šalies valdžios ir jos viešojo administravimo institucijoms kasmet kelia vis naujus uždavinius valstybės reikalams geriau tvarkyti. Per praėjusius septyniolika metų iš esmės buvo pakeista visa viešojo administravimo sistema, paveldėta po 50 metų krašto buvimo komandinėje valdymo sistemoje. Laikotarpis po nepriklausomybės atkūrimo Lietuvoje vadinamas pereinamuoju. Tai perėjimas iš vienos politinės ekonominės sistemos į kita. Justiniškės people were questioned, inquiring their education, employment or occupation, sources for living and income, their opinion about Justiniškės area, problems and live after the restoration of Lithuanian independence. The results of the analysis show that younger, better educated and higher-paid people are more inclined to assess the level of life after the restoration of independence positively rather than older and less paid people, who were not able to adapt to the new life. The most urgent problems are small parking places, high prices for central heating, renovation of houses and poor conditions of pavements. Although in the Soviet times Justiniškės was one of the newest living residence area, today it is necessary to renovate the blocks of flats, solve parking problems, renew the playgrounds for children, places for recreation and sports. Most of the people are Lithuanian, still working and busy people, having college or secondary education, mostly living on their salaries. Socio-economical changes after the restoration of Lithuanian independence satisfy the majority. Smaller enterprises, having small number of employees, predominate in Justiniškės area. Justiniškės Neighbourhood should give more attention to citisens and buisines holders, as weel as local culture organization. Only with good relationship is possible to receive maximum results.

Lietuvos kraštovaizdžio išsaugojimas, jo tvarkymas ir formavimas tenkinant ekologinius, ekonominius, socialinius, kultūrinius ir estetinius visuomenės poreikius yra vienas svarbiausių valstybės tikslų. Tačiau kraštovaizdžio raida Lietuvoje, patyrusioje ideologijų ir santvarkų kaitą, yra nevienareikšmiška. Viena vertus, akcentuojamas kraštovaizdžio tradiciškumas, individualumas, būtinybė išsaugoti ekologinį stabilumą ir biologinę įvairovę, tačiau ekonominiai prioritetai skatina kuo intensyviau, veiksmingiau naudoti teritoriją. Nors kraštovaizdis yra visos visuomenės reikalas ir turėtų būti tvarkomas valstybiniu pagrindu, tačiau tikrovėje konkretūs sprendimai dažnai būna žinybinio pobūdžio, o pati kraštovaizdžio raida dažnai paliekama savieigai. Kol kas visos šalies mastu dar nėra išskirti ir suklasifikuoti vertingi kraštovaizdžiai, nerengiami specialūs kraštovaizdžio tvarkymo planai. Tuo metu vertingi kraštovaizdžiai nenumaldomai nyksta. Viena iš svarbiausių nepatenkinamos Lietuvos kraštovaizdžio būklės priežasčių yra ta, kad tiek visuomenėje, tiek valdžios institucijose labai trūksta supratimo apie kraštovaizdį, vyrauja ne kompleksinis, o objektinis („sklypinis“) mąstymas. Lithuanian landscape management and the formation of meeting the ecological, economic, social, cultural and aesthetic needs of society is one of the most important state goals. However, the landscape evolution of Lithuania is mixed, because it has been adversely affected by ideologies and regime change. On one hand, focus on the traditional landscape, the individuality, the need to preserve the ecological stability and biodiversity, but promotes the economic priorities of the most intense, efficient use of the territory. The landscape is all in public affairs. It should be handled in a state basis, but in reality the specific solutions are often the departmental in nature and the landscape itself is often left to chance. So far, the whole country has not yet been isolated and classified. Valuable landscapes are not specific landscaping plans. At the same time, valuable landscapes inexorable decline. One of the most unsatisfactory states of the Lithuanian landscape is that both society and government is a serious lack of understanding of the landscape, dominated at the complex, and the object-oriented (“plot") thinking. The master’s work “Sociall economical development of touristic infrastructure in Druskininkai” is devoted to the streamlines of Druskininkai health resort and to the tasks and means of marketing. A scheme of the competitive advantages and shortcomings of Druskininkai in comparison with the competitive environment of the neighbouring countries and places is given in the article. It contains a survey of the main Lithuanian and foreign purposive markets in 2008–2013. Marketing actions directed at these markets are recommended.

Apžvelgta rajono istorija, gamtinės sąlygos (geografinė padėtis ir dydis, geologija, paviršius, dirvožemiai, klimatinės sąlygos, hidrogafija, augalija ir gyvūnija), gyventojai ir gyvenvietės, ūkinė veikla, švietimas, kultūra ir sportinė veikla. Apžvelgiau turizmo ir rekreacijos išteklius (gamtinius ir kultūrinius), perspektyviausias nepanaudotas turistines zonas. Įvertinau dabartinę turizmo padėtį Švenčionių rajone: turizmo paslaugas, apgyvendinimo paslaugas, kaimo turizmo paslaugas, maitinimo paslaugos, baidarių ir turistinio inventoriaus nuomos paslaugas, Švenčionių rajone siūlomas pramogas turistams. Atlikau apgyvendinimo ir baidarių ir turistinio inventoriaus nuomos įmonių tyrimus Švenčionių rajone. Pasiūliau priemones turizmui ir rekreacijai skatinti. Darbas skirtas visiems, besidomintiems turimo plėtros galimybėmis Švenčionių rajone.

Švenčionys district is famous for its abundance of natural recources, cultural and historical diversity. This is an attractive place for recreation and tourism. However, the tourism infrastructure in this district is little developed. At the beginning of my master paper I characterized the geography of Švenčionys district. Such points as the district‘s history, natural conditions (geographical location and size, geology, surface, soil, climate conditions, hydrography, vegetation and fauna), inhabitants and villages, household activities, education, culture and sports activities have been overlooked. I have also overlooked the recourses of tourism and recreation (natural and cultural), the most perspective and still not used zones for tourism. I have evaluated the present situation of tourism in Švenčionys district: tourism services, accommodation facilities, country tourism services, catering facilities, rent services of canoes and tourism equipment, entertainment for tourist offered in Švenčionys district. I have carried out the research on the companies of accommodation and canoe and tourism equipment rent in Švenčionys district. I have offered some means for promotion of tourism industry and recreation. The paper might be used by everybody who is interested in tourism development possibilities in Švenčionys district.

This title gives overview on history, popularity and the spread of learning on distance education in Lithuania and the World. ▼ Although Vilnius is the largest city of the republic, a centre of industry and culture, the largest Lithuanian administrative centre, where the most important political, financial, economic, social and cultural centres are located, nevertheless there are plenty of unemployed and socially supported persons.. The officially registered unemployment level n Vilnius for the time being does not exceed the average of the European Union. Compared to the structure of unemployment in other Lithuanian cities and their change indications, the situation in Vilnius is quite good, except for the fact that the number of the retired persons is growing. Recently in Vilnius the demand for Workforce is growing, yet qualification characteristics in many cases does not match the requirements of the vacant positions offered. Hence the structural changes in Labour Market, intensive development of new technologies have had significant influence on the competition in the dynamic market of people who have lost their jobs. ▼ According to provisional data, as of 1 June 2003, there were 279 thous. farms producing agricultural products (further – farms), whose land property consisted of one hectare of agricultural land or more, or whose agricultural land though being less than one hectare, gave income from agricultural products sales no less than forty minimum standards of living. Those farms had 2939 thous. ha land, of which 2542 thous. ha were agricultural land. On the average one farm had 10.6 ha of land, of which 9.1 were agricultural land. The average size of the farm in Lithuania is equal of a half average size of the farm in the EU as well as it is equal of the average farm size in Portugal. Some economic and social indices. ▼ Dovine River basin is a big contrast region. The south basin part falls into Suduva highlands and the north part falls into Uznemune lowland. This has very big influence to basin recreational distribution and development. The north basin part where is Zuvintas biosphere reserve with wetland complex and arable territory determine very low recreational activity and the south basin part with big lake and powerful landscape determine highly condition of recreation and tourism formation. Very important component of recreational potential of Dovine River basin is 33 lakes. Only big lakes Dusia, Simnas and Giluitis uses for recreation. The forested of Dovine River basin is only 23%, but these forest are very valuable. The biggest forest is Bukta, Kalniskes, Bijotai. There are 987 vegetal species, whereof 66 species are very protected and written into Lithuanian Red book and 5 species are European importance. There are 76 natural and cultural objects. Uneven recreational resources distribution, determine different basin tourism development. The north part of Dovine River basin with cultural heritage uses for cognitive tourism and the south basin part with big lakes and powerful landscape uses for rest tourism. ▼ The thesis was aimed at analyzing methodical sources of suburban zones research by employing an improved methodology of establishing those zones. In the course of the research the functional boundaries of the Vilnius suburban zone were established by using the above-mentioned methodology. The aim of the thesis was successfully achieved. The Vilnius suburban zone has been investigated and explored from the social, economic, demographic and other angles. According to the intensity of the attributes under research on the administrative level, the territory is divided into functional sub-zones what is clearly demonstrated by the territory maps developed by researcher. The analysis performed evidences the refocusing of the Vilnius suburban zone to north-west. The inland boundaries of the Vilnius suburban zone do not coincide with the official boundaries of the city. It is not a rare case that the functions characteristic to a suburb have been localized within the city. The development of the Vilnius suburban zone takes place in the environment lacking any investment programmes or coordination guidelines. It is not secured from any adverse implications, meaningless financial resources squandering or waste or conflicts.
