Abstract: The health assistance has been the subject of attention in various areas of knowledge, such as Pediatrics and Speech and Language Pathology. The family attention, as research subject and health intervention field, requires focus their modes of assistance and share the care, in a wider health perspective. This broader understanding beyond the biological dimension of the disease, presupposes a biopsychosocial model as proposed by the World Health Organization (WHO) in the creation of the International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health - version for children and youth (ICF-CY), analysis referential applied in this study. Purpose: Investigate the perception of family members regarding the speech and language disorders of children and adolescents under speech and language therapy and the impact of family participation in the therapeutic process using the ICF-CY. Method: Longitudinal qualitative research approach in which 32 family members of 25 children and adolescents with speech and language disorders, under speech and language therapy. For the data collection it was conducted a survey of children and adolescents medical records, to characterize the participants¿ profiles semi-structured interviews with family members, analysis of speech and language pathology reports and written, graphic and video records of 26 group sessions with family members, which occurred from August 2012 to June 2015, transcribed for categorization using the ICF-CY. Results: In both interviews and attendance records of family members, all participants addressed initially, in the ICF-CY component of body Functions and Structures, domains such as fluency and articulation, showing concern with organic aspects. Most reported different repercussions of the speech/language disorders in domains such as dealing with stress and speaking activity among others, qualified from mild to severe, initially, wherein these qualifiers were modified to without alteration (without problem) to moderate during the therapeutic process. Participants statements were classified in the Environmental Factors component, as facilitators in domains such immediate family¿s attitudes and health services, systems and policies, and as barriers in the social attitudes. Conclusion: These findings demonstrate that the children and adolescents¿ speech and language disorders, in the families¿ perception, are firstly addressed at the organic dimension. As of the therapeutic care, the findings demonstrate, as repercussion, the expansion of the look of the family members to other issues and implications of everyday life in speech/language. Abstract: As a speech pathologist working in the Brazilian Unified Health System (SUS), many challenges have been imposed in my daily work and they brought out questions that this study intends to answer to. The discussion was based on the new paradigm of health brought by SUS creation and the refletions that resulted from it, inside and outside the Speech, Language and Hearing Sciences field, regarding professional education and expertise. To persude the aim to understanding the speech pathologists¿ role in the SUS, this study has maped selected individual paths in teaching, management, and assistance, by interviewing them about their personal and professional life history. Discussions and reflections were conducted from the interviews, regarding individual and collective factors which have a relationship with the profession¿s role, education, and sizing criteria. The study had two products: a short YouTube series, to bring more information to the public, and a workforce sizing planning to support managers in SUS. Abstract: This paper aims at showing, through a fragment of a clinical case, that primitive emotional experiences of the baby/mother bonds are reflected in the constitution of a child's psychism and symbol formation process, interfere in the child's school performance and are experiences which can, in psychoanalytical psychotherapy, be elaborated through playing. The research is a study of a clinical case of a child being given psychoanalytical assistance, based on Winnicott's theoretical conception of primitive emotional development. In psychoanalytical therapy process, the primitive emotional experiences of the mother/baby relationships of the patient in the therapeutic bond were elaborated, which enabled the egoic integration and the experience of the patient's self, verbal communication, development of creativity, capacity to play and capacity to deal with transitionality - essential elements in the process of symbol formation - resulting in the improvement of the child's school performance and guiding him/her into resuming his/her emotional development. The conclusion is that, through the technique of playing, in the light of Winnicott's view, psychoanalytical psychotherapy has enabled the correction of environment failure experiences gone through by the patient at the beginning of his/her emotional life and the elaboration of the child's primitive emotional experiences which paralysed or inhibited the establishment of the process of symbols formation and interfered in his/her school performance Advisors/Committee Members: UNIVERSIDADE ESTADUAL DE CAMPINAS (CRUESP), Panhoca, Ivone (advisor), Universidade Estadual de Campinas.
